Food was ok. It was definitely fresh. The chips were not a favorite, but the salsa and the spinach dip were excellent. The table service was amazing. Kept up on refills. Extremely friendly. They were working hard and keeping up on all of the tables. My husband loved his food, as well as our friend. I ordered the chicken and shrimp in a half pineapple. Smelled amazing, chicken was not that awesome, but everything else in the dish was! Good portions for the price you pay. Definitely had leftovers to take home!!! Will return, but will try a dish without chicken next time.
I got my drink relatively quickly and the waiter was friendly I took a few minutes deciding what I wanted and they checked back with me a few times we are off to a good start! Then they brought the wrong meal because he assumed that I was ordering from lunch menu that I didnt know existed and did not double-check. Nor was I told that there was a separate lunch and dinner menu and that they were only serving lunch. So I thought I had the order straightened out and about 10 minutes later or so they brought the wrong meal again! So after waiting another 10 or 15 minutes and by this time Ive been there for 30 minutes plus and no sign of my correct meal. I went to pay for my drink and they wanted to charge me for my meal that I never got and obviously never ate! My waiter half apologized but just kept saying that they were busy! I doubt that I will return!
DO NOT ORDER TO GO! They have no quality control personnel and don’t seem to care that they get the orders wrong time and time again. This last time was the final straw. They have messed up the last 4 orders we’ve picked up from them. This last time(3rd)we called to complain and let them know, and they made an effort to make it right by telling us to give the managers name next time and he would comp it. So we ordered again with a comped meal from the manager and when we got home it was totally wrong again. I know, it’s a free meal, but when you’re vegetarian and the meal is made wrong with all meat products, you get hung out to dry. Good riddance.
Despite a table of teenager being extremely disrespectful. Which I spoke to. Lol. It was absolutely fantastic. The el pastor was the best we have had since we lived in Los Angeles. The fajita chimichanga was very yummy. Our server Emily was super sweet. Actually every employee we encountered was very nice. We shall be back. Salute!
This was our first time going and we have heard great things about the restaurant. We didnt have to wait long for a table of 2 which was nice. I ordered the burritos deluxe, and my girlfriend ordered chimichangas with green sauce. We had a difficult time ordering because the waiter barely spoke English. When our food arrived, mine was correct, but my girlfriends food wasnt. Also, she showed me that half of each of her 5 chimichangas were actually empty so they all were only half filled. Also she didnt get the green sauce, they gave her the red. I wanted to mention it to the waiter, bur the language issue was hard ebough to ordet. We were asked if we wanted more chips and salsa so I said yes. The waiter brought us salsa, but not chips. The chicken burrito was good, but the beef didnt stick out from other places. They were also a little small in comparison. My girlfriends tortillas were soggy and fell apart right away. Mine werent soggy, but they werent closed enough and my food spilled out of them. Eventually, we received the check and when I used a credit card, they brought back my card, plopped it on the table, and didnt even give me a pen to fill out the receipt. I had to ask someone else for a pen. We will go back to try it again be caused it tasted well, but it definitely didnt live up to the hype...Atleast not for our first time.
I was going to give them three stars, because the service was so nice and our waiter was very pleasant. However, the fajitas were completely tasteless. It was a big huge beautiful portion, but there was just no flavour. Its like we were searching for the flavour we kept eating eating trying to find it. I dont think they put any spice on the meat. When you tasted the meat by itself it was completely plain. They didnt add any spice, not even some black pepper. We also had the special House-made guacamole, and again it was a decent portion it looked lovely but there was no flavor we had to ask for some limes to squeeze into it.Thats just the way it is sometimes when you come into a town youve never been to before. But at least server and service was quite nice.
I grew up in Cleveland and moved to Colorado. i never thought I would find delicious Mexican food in Avon Lake, Ohio, but I did find delicious Mexican Food at Las Cazuelos. I had a burrito and my brother had Fajitas. We shared a Guac Salad. All exceptional. We have a single complaint... we only got two tortillas with the fajitas and they gave us enough fixings for 8. Very generous portions, and excellent flavor. Well done.
We had a birthday party of 10 here on Thursday around 6:30.whe we got there we were quickly greeted and sat down right away. Our food was great and their Golden margaritas are the best. Our waiter was very professional. He cleared plates right away, refilled waters with out being asked and even poured our margaritas from the pitcher when we were done. Everyone had a fabulous time, it was a great place for a group of friends. I highly recommended Las Cazuelas!
The food and service were great. While we were waiting for our table in the lobby, I happened to notice all the lighting in the main dining room was flickering. Once I saw it there was no way I was going to be able to sit in there and not go crazy. We requested a table in front of the bar where there the flickering wasnt going on. After that it was a pleasant experience.
The service was ok, but the food was not very good. The plates came over sauced and incorrect. The red sauce on the burrito tastes like jarred spaghetti sauce. The white cheese dip was the only thing I enjoyed. They charge way too much for a scoop of guacamole (almost 5 dollars) The food doesnt have that rich Mexican flavor you expect. The sauce on the tamale tasted like chili powder. I would not eat here again. We left almost barely touched plates when we had enough. I didnt get what I ordered and left unsatisfied. An over 40 meal that wasnt even eaten.
Customer service is good. The chips and salsa are great. The rice and beans are good. The fajitas are below average...look and smell good but lack taste or flavor. The steak tacos were good, the next visit. The ice cream is delicious. The margarita was okay. The atmosphere and venue is cool and reminds me of Cancun Mexico.
Very good restaurant. The meal was great and the golden ( or Texas as they call it) margarita even greater. Our table agreed the salsa provided with chips is as good, if not better than any salsa we have tasted. The spinach quesadilla was superb with lots of fresh spinach. Our server, Zach was very personable as was the entire staff.
What a joke this place has become....placed a take out order before leaving work. Got there 30 minutes later to pick up and nobody placed the order. The person couldnt of cared less on the mistake. Wont be eating Mexican till Im out of town cause the other two Mexican restaurants in the area are owned by the same person.
This restaurant has the best food and service. Amanda is AMAZING!! My husband and I go there every Saturday without fail. We never really go out since Covid but the cleanliness makes us feel so safe. They make sure that everyone wears mask at all times, everyone is 6 feet apart or more and they use plexiglass. As healthcare providers, my husband and I feel like we put ourselves at enough risk just going to work. Las Cazueles is the ONLY place we go because that is where we feel the safest. Thank you guys so much!!
First time going there today and I can honestly say that its the last time Ill go. Ordered the guacamole and took one bite and was done. I ordered the El combo that comes with six different items and could only stomach two of them. Now my pregnant wife is in the bathroom miserable. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This location offers good Mexican food at a fair price. We sat on the outside patio and although they could use some extra renovation to Spruce it up a little bit it was overall not a bad experience. The servers were very attentive to our needs and we were able to get all of our food and drinks in a very timely manner. The location overall was very clean and safe and I would recommend it.
Accommodating Staff. We had a party of 10 on a Sunday evening. The staff set up tables and remained cheerful and professional. The food was tasty and the servings plentiful. Juices, Mexican beer and 3 types of margaritas were tested. The homemade margarita was the favorite.
Ordered food on Uber Eats. Food was delivered very quickly by Uber driver. But by the time the food got to us it was already cold, soggy, the sauce was very watery, and everything just tasted bland. For $40 what a dissapointment in the quality of the food alone. It really feels like Las Cazueles has let go of their quality control since the COVID-19 pandemic started. My last few times ordering food here has resulted in the same experience. I wouldnt recommend eating here anymore. A shame really. I used to love the food here.
I really only ever write positive reviews, but feel obligated to share my negative experience. Ordered $60+ of carry out for about $15 worth of food. Bones in both chicken chimichangas, ground beef in the beef tip chimichangas, no rice with any of the 4 entrees, and a tiny little bag of chips. Don Ramon and Fiesta Jalapeños provide a much better meal and value.
Nice little Mexican place, they were pretty busy for a Thursday night. We were taken care of quickly and the food was delicious. We have a Mexican place down in Mansfield very similar to this place. I think theres a method to places like this sort of like Chinese takeout. They arent affiliated at all but they all have the same idea and menu items, a proven method to creating a successful restaurant.Even the menu was the same! And the salsa and food was served the same way too.All in all a nice place to eat.
We go here regularly for the Wednesday dollar taco special. Its a good basic beef taco on a hard shell, loaded with meat and buried in shredded cheese, along with complementary tortilla chips and a very good salsa. I can eat three, four if I am really hungry. Service is always good and friendly.
Really good authentic Mexican food. Ambiance was nice and family oriented. At times a bit loud (especially when the band was walking around the tables singing) and it was hard to hear those at your table & the waitresses, but it was all in fun and a part of the experience.
Ordered online for pick-up. 3 out of 4 items not correct. Cant complain without going all the way back to the restaurant because apparently their phone is not currently working. Had two previous good experiences with dine-in (pre-COVID19) and we will go back once they open for dine-in again but there will be no more online orders because with 75% of my order being messed up, apparently they can not handle online orders.
Rude service!!! She only had 2 tables with me being one of them. Dumped food on my family member and then argued about doing it. Had to use baby wipes because I never received napkins. Terrible attitude! Never coming back. Asked for a manager and was told he was at the store buying product.
Took a long time to be served at the bar. Both drinks and food. The server was extremely slow. Sat with empty drinks for quite sometime. My 2 friends had their food a good 5 minutes before I received my dinner. The food was ok wasnt all that thrilled about the visit. Had to flag down server after sitting with no drinks; and had been done eating for a good 10 minutes.
Great authentic Mexican food great atmosphere, service and price. The burritos are almost a foot long and the ingredients and quality of food is better than any Mexican restaurant in the area. You won’t find a burrito like the one you get at this place easily feeds 2 people. I recommend you try their Burritos. I will post more about their food as I try it in the coming months.
I ordered from this restaurant via door dash. I ordered the enchiladas verdes which comes filled with chicken and a choice of green or ranchero sauce. I chose the green sauce and got charged $2 extra for choosing after the initial purchase went through. I would figure that the sauce comes as part of the meal and isnt an extra and it certainly wasnt explained on door dash that sauce costs extra! The enchiladas also came with shrimp inside instead of chicken. I complained via door dash and got a $5 credit for having to pay to choose the sauce. The food was actually very good, its just kind of a big oversight to put shrimp into something thats only ever served with chicken and to charge that extra amount...Edit: I decided to try again because the food is actually good. Unfortunately, when ordering chicken enchiladas a second time they gave me shrimp again. I think there must be some kind of miscommunication between the Door Dash system and the restaurants. Im still unable to find any enchilada item on their menu that contains shrimp. This time I got full credit for the meal since this is the second time its happened. I really like the food here, just wish theyd serve up what was ordered :/
We ordered curb side pick tonight, worst mistake ever, we get home tortilla shells were missing and the shredded cheese was not in the bag, they had it delivered to our house an hour later. By then our food was ice cold and the fajitas had no flavor. Very disappointing.
Horrible, it was take out because of virus but my god, 20.00 for fajitas that were so bad, all raw veggies hardly any meat, 3 small shrimp, and dry steak and chicken, we had from Cosmel in Lakewood other night and raved, night and day, and 5 dollars less, Margy was good but evaporated on way home lol
We loved the presentation of the food.. I had chimichonas rice beans and their salad., It was served on a bead of grilled peppers and onions. Everything tasted so good, freash! Much different than other Mexican restaurants I have been to... So very good. Highly recommend this place.
Not great. Not bad. This Mexican restaurant has most of the traditional staples, adequate service, and the quality of fare that youd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant in NE Ohio; however, they fall short in a few areas that prevent them from getting a thorough recommendation. My latest visit was on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant had minimal guests. The server wasnt around when we hoped to order, but was quick to get drinks after seating us. The prices were a bit on the higher side and the lack of any drink specials was a little disappointing. The only food special was the carnitas and was only slightly discounted. It wasnt great and came with two tortillas. An additional two tortillas cost $1. Salsa was bland. Nothing provided a good impression. It seems to be on par with Don Tequila in Elyria. If you have time to travel, I recommend Si Senor in Westlake or Fiesta Jalapenos in North Ridgeville. Those options are a bit out of range for most, and youll find Las Cazuelas acceptable, maybe.
I was wondering if the restaurant changed hands because the salsa was nothing more than tomato sauce with a little bit of cilantro in it. I usually order chimichangas but these were soggy and the sauce on top was bitter. The person with me had beef that was so charred it was black. This used to be my favorite place to go I think Ill find another Mexican restaurant.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! The BEST refried beans ever! We always order them to dip our tortilla chips in almost as an appetizer, while we wait for our food - which isnt ever a long wait. The service is 5 star, the food is phenomenal and the price is always fair. If you are a Margarita Fanatic, ask for their Homemade Margaritas and do NOT plan on driving home!! They are happy to call an Uber or Taxi for you! So, Yeah, the margaritas are GOOD! My Go-To order is the Casadilla Espescial with a side of beans. MMMMM!!!! I think I need to go there again today! Yep, Im going! You should too!! Authentic, super prices, excellent food, clean and friendly!
Clean, comfortable, casual and friendly, this restaurant is a perfect place for families, get-togethers, date night, or just one. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is quite knowledgeable and welcoming. The ACP (arroz con pollo) is very popular among many, and when youre in the mood for nachos just the way you like them youll find them right here. The menu is quite extensive so I have no doubt that youll find something that you like. The reason for the four stars is because, the last time we were there in late March, someone with us had an allergy to fish. Of course we mentioned this to our waiter and then found out that anything grilled, like the burgers or steaks, are grilled on the same surface where fish is cooked. So that person had to opt out for another choice which was the custom made nachos. Be sure to ask if you should have an allergy because Im not sure if it mentions that on the menu. I have no doubt though that youre going to enjoy your experience here.
The back rooms noise level or acoustics are not good. We were seated at a table near the center of the room surrounded by booths. I could barley hear the person across the table from me or the waitress with how loud it was back there from other groups of people. The lighting too in that area was pretty odd. The booths had a fixture over each one with a dim and suitable tone. In the center area we were under these bright white recessed lights that made me feel like I am looking in a case at a jewelry store. The food was good but not among our favorite Tex Mex places closers to Lakewood or Westpark.Service seemed friendly and tentive to our table. All together Id still give it another shot but would make sure we are seated on the bar side of the restaurant.
Go somewhere else! Drive another hour if you have to. Chips are stale and pretty sure this is a kitchen nightmare. Im bet health code violations are plenty at this restaurant. Ive ordered from here through a delivery and they give you stale food. You will get sick from eating at this place. If you have not you are lucky. They dont know how to cook.
If you visit Avon Lake and like authentic Mexican food and you ask anyone from the town where to go, they will surely point you into the direction of Las Caz. Friendly, welcoming, cordial and vibrant atmosphere paired with great service and killer, fresh-made, daily, house salsa. This is the place to go for a good drink, great food that will leave you smiling and satisfied. Make sure to order their signature ACP!
Placed a to go order and they completely botched it. They gave me all childrens quesadillas. No meat. The fish tacos my wife ordered were literally just fish in hard taco shells. No lettuce, no nothing. I called just to tell them afterwards and was offered a discount the next time I came. I refused and just wanted them to know about the crappy service. Dont eat here. It blows.
This place is filthy! something was floating in my water; they have black, sticky fingerprints all over their doors and furniture and the food was HORRIBLE. A chicken quesadilla is made with chicken and CHEESE, hence, the root word: cheese. No cheese on mine. No lettuce; no tomato; no sour cream--no apologies. They refused to make it right or adjust the bill. This is the third and LAST time I will give them another chance. One woman in our group had BONES in her food!! Disgusting. All good reviews on here must be written by family of the restaurant. Do not fall for it.
Good taisty food and friendly staff. Nice Mexican atmosphere including decorations and furniture. Ample and safe parking in a suberbanite plaza parking lot. Competitive prices all things considered but would probly be a few cents cheaper if located in the city rather than a suberb, but still worth a five star rating.
I order from this place because its the only take out Mexican place nearby. The food is average at best. The service is terrible. Ive had multiple take out orders that were wrong even after I confirmed the order multiple times while at the restaurant. It makes me wonder if it is a deliberate way to save money.
Great people, however the tacos are as basic as Taco Bell...Taco Bells may be better! Other dishes here are decent though, ACP, enchiladas!....average Mexican food at best and another rest by same owner opening at Beachpark ...more of same tex mex. Avon Lake only has room for 1

2022-06-16With the first heat wave of summer upon us in northeastern OH after, neither my wife nor I feel like cooking on a Thursday night. After a look at several restaurant menus for some takeout, we settle on a taco salad with pulled chicken and a taco fajita salad with grilled chicken from our favorite nearby purveyor of Mexican cuisine. Both are served in a n edible crispy tortilla bowl. The bowl was spot on perfect but the portion looked really undersized compared to past versions of that menu item. We quickly realized that while there was ample chicken, onions, green peppers along with the sour cream and extra guacamole, this salad had but the tiniest sprinkling of shredded lettuce. I do not exaggerate! Sprinkling is the only word to describe the almost complete lack of any lettuce in two dishes that are grouped in the salad section of the menu. Seriously, what was the chef/cook thinking? Oops, he/she wasnt! We were disappointed but one of the things I expect from any restaurant is a reasonable consistency of the product. Had we dined there instead of takeout, I would have sent it back to the kitchen to dress it up and make it look like a salad and not a side sprinkling of shredded lettuce. Better luck next time I guess.

2022-02-12My wife and I have been here at least a dozen times and the staff has always been courteous and friendly! The food has always come out shortly after ordering. Maybe a tad slower when super busy but still faster than any place Ive eaten out at! Im 64 and Ive eaten out at hundreds of restaurants! Anyone I have taken there was very satisfied and my mom loved it too! RIP. Food is always hot and never ever had to send anything back. May go there tonight. I probably jinxed myself!

2022-06-06I review alot of restaurants, especially Mexican food being my favorite. This place was very good we enjoyed a variety of different stuff enchiladas, chimys, tacos, etc. The rice was great my margarita was a little weak so I ordered an extra shot. 2020-01-15The service was quick and friendly on a slow night. Not sure what things would be like when on a busy night and Las Cazuales is a restaurant that can get very busy. The chips and salsa are OK but could have been much better. Its almost silly to expect authentic Mexican food this side of the border, it has to be americanized and theres a lot of that at Las Cazueles.

2020-12-13My first time there and it is definitely THE BEST authentic Mexican Ive ever had! No other Mexican restaurants that Ive been too compares to this place. AMAZING!!!

2020-03-08American Mexican restaurant, it was a bit out of the way to find from the main road. The restaurant was clean and well maintained on the inside, they do have an outside patio area but it was not the season for it to be open so it looked like they were using it for storage. The food was quite salty and disappointing for the price. It is quite expensive for the foods they serve, for three meals and only water to drink with no extras it was over $60, not including tip. The waitress was much more interested in the game on tv than the 2 tables that has people seated. We had to wait a long time for refills on water and almost 30 mins just to receive the bill when we were the only table (the other table left fairly quickly after we were seated).
