Lannings is a favorite of mine. I go there while visiting family. Fresh butchered meats, great selection of cheeses, deli meats, frozen foods. Love this place.
Lots of good, homemade things, prices are decent, meats are good and fresh.
It was not very busy there on a Saturday morning. Good selection of produce and meats. Very nice employees who asked if any help was needed. Clean and well organized areas. The meat area has preseasoned ready to fix cut of chicken and beef. We are going to try their brats for dinner. They have a great assortment of seasonings also.

The store is clean, clerks are always helpful, and the prices are good. We come up from Granville, approx 30 minutes away, to shop here. We particularly like to get our meats here. They always have the best tasting and freshest meats compared to the chain grocery stores. The meat counter clerks are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Lannings is a local grocery store thats been around for a long time. Its small and unpretentious and has a lot of local, seasonal foods. You can get great deals on things like onions, apples, and chicken leg quarters. Their dairy is what I usually stop for - local, high quality milk, butter, cottage cheese and sour cream. The quality of the meat, which is what they are known for, is usually quite good. They also have a decent, small wine selection. Seasonally, you can get great prices on things like peaches and squash, and sometimes in late summer they have the small but wonderful prune plums. They have a huge selection of Walnut Creek products (very local, very good). The staff are always friendly and helpful. Id much rather support them than a national chain, and although I cant usually get everything here, the prices and quality make it well worth stopping in.
Very nice little store. Well kept , clean and organized. Great customer service and very friendly. The meat quality is of the highest grade with very reasonable prices unlike I have found at MaryAnnes in Lexington. I purchased 5 pounds of very fresh groundchuck for just 14 bucks. Love this store and their employees. Awesome little market.
The butcher went in the back and got my beef ribs...they were not in the case....cut them for me....lol I was having a bad day and this, getting some nice short ribs to braise made my day....and they had leeks too
This is a great little family run store. They bring in fresh local produce when in season, have a great meat and deli department, and also has a lot of items you dont find at other national chains. I like this store and would urge everyone to check them out.
I go here quite often. The deli and meat departments are my favorite sections as their wide selections are always delicious and decently priced. It is a great place to get other grocery items that are needed because my menu changes or an item was forgotten earlier in the week.

Very pleased with this store! They carry a lot of the items I use that you cant get at the grocery. We had the peppered bacon and it was very good. They carry Mustard Man mustard and Buckeye Winery wines. I will most definitely return
This has become my weekly shopping trip. Fresh produce. Meat from butcher. Even get my steaks precut the way I like it. Lunch meats is so fresh. The staff are super friendly. Top notch service!

Employeer paid for meat pack for employees went to pick up and they were out. The items we already paid for, they should have in stock. Very poor customer service.

This is by far one of the best facilities in Mt. Vernon. I was here for nearly 3 months before my wife found this place. Since coming here we have not purchased anything meats from any other store. The selection is second to none and the prices are at a minimum competitive, and for he most part the quality far outweighs the prices. They also have local fare which is great (fruits, eggs, dairy, etc.). A great place and very friendly and helpful staff.
Why I love it? Local grocery stores are disappearing fast. Anyways. Lannings foods has an awesome deli, and a meat counter that really cant be beat. You may pay slightly higher, but it more than makes up in consistent quality. Worth checking out!
We are always happy with Lannings. Their meat and deli selections are wonderful and great quality. The prices for these items are fairly reasonable because of the high quality. As a standard grocery store the selection is very small and the prices are a bit high. So we typically just go here for the specialty items. They also have some great choices for lunch specials that are popular with workers at the neighboring factories.
I used to live in mount Vernon and I came across this place. I was looking for a good meat market that was locally grown and owned. I instantly fell in love with the place and even now that I live 40 miles away I still come back for all my bulk meat purchases. Be sure and sign up for the emailers and check out the weekly specials.
Small local store, but great items. Their meat market is fresh, local beef. They have wonderful made daily desserts and meals at the deli. Great deals on veggies and dairy products. It is a go to spot for grocery shopping.

Ordered brisket for a party, VERY diappointed, was not true brisket, was like chuck roast and not smoked, it was baked and pulled apart, it was dry and not what I ordered. When I called about it I was told thats how they do brisket, I said they should let people know when ordering, if I had know thats how they do it I would NOT have ordered. Very disappointed and the meat was NOT good. They offered nothing, told me they would have the manager call me ...which DID NOT happen. Im also a regular customer who spends alot weekly there on meat, very disappointed in how this matter was handled.
Best fresh meat in town
I havent been here for quite some time and I will NOT be back due to the customer service when checking out. Purchased produce and meat. Meat Dept had friendly service. We went to check out and the 2 woman in the center checkouts were more interested in there conversation between each other than even an acknowledgement we was there. I might as well have been at Walmart checking myself out. People tend to forget we have the choice where to spend our money so you might want to pay attention to that customer thats in your store spending there money that helps you have that job that you clearly are not doing. Hope management might give a friendly reminder on what costumer service is and how to treat those customers in there establishment.

We happened upon Lanning’s a couple years ago.When we get up in that neck of the woods, we make it a point to stop and purchase meats.Their meat selection is tops! To be more specific, their ground sausage is above any I’ve ever had!!!What a gem of a place!!!
I really want to love this place. Its local and focuses on local products. It has a nice selection and a friendly staff. But unfortunately I feel like its a lot of GMO, pesticide, steroid, etc filled stuff. If Im wrong, they should work harder making that more obvious!
It is comparable in cost to other grocery stores. Especially if you buy the bulk packages. But the quality is soooo much better. I am just talking their meat & deli departments. The produce & dry grocery are kind of limited, but it is a small store.
I had only been in once for meat patties but I did some grocery shopping today and they are INCREDIBLE! The food is fantastic and so fresh! Better then krogers and Wal-Mart!
This is one of the best grocery experiences you can find because of the outstanding and individualized customer service. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced. Wednesdays are Senior days so enjoy the 10% discount on nonsale items.

If you want the most fresh fruit and veggies without having your own garden then Lannings is the place to go. They also have a great deli and butcher in house as well. Huge selection & friendly staff.

$95 for the little subs. If the manager would of called me back with the price like she said would I could have canceled my order and went cheaper at Walmart and gotten more. She didn’t fallow through on pricing me. I had to call back the day before I picked up. What if I didn’t have the money to pay for it. Then what was I supposed to do?? I am feeding the middle school football team.
