Its always nice up there. Well patrolled by security. It has its share of groups of kids getting out of hand sometimes, but any city park is like that. The rose garden is beautiful! Walking trails are always clean. I love watching the sunset over Lake Erie!
Great place to see and learn about purple martins; a bird breed that seems to be in decline.
Pretty beach on the lake. The dressing rooms were decent sized, and we enjoyed the cafe. We went on a Friday, and there was plenty of parking and room on the beach.

Convenient bathrooms and showers. Great food and snacks. Beautiful garden area and water fountain... so beautiful at night especially. The entertainment and festivities are awesome in the summer. Clean sand, volleyball nets available and a nice play area for the kids. Clean Picnic shelters and BBQ areas. Perfect sunset view with that special person!!!!!!!!
What a nice surprise. I am from Northeast Ohio and have visited quite a few Lake Erie beaches. Lakeview Park is pretty great. The beach was well cared for and the area had many beautiful site lines. The downtown area is full of restored, historic storefronts. The Black River sits behind Broadway. Its close proximity to the downtown allows for large festivals along the river and behind the downtown. This area has great potential for anyone wanting great accessibility to Lake Erie, the Black River, and the historic downtown Lorain. I am glad that I took the family out to check out this area.
Lakeview Park is a great place to visit year round. Often having community events, its a safe and fun place for families to visit and cool down in the summer. Its especially beautiful to watch storms roll in over the water.
This Lorain, OH park is well maintained, and has an assortment of areas to enjoy. The beach is clean, and swimming areas are roped off where lifeguards are stationed to keep watch. There is a nice beach house with restrooms and refreshments. The rose garden is very extensive and beautiful. There is a nicely grass trimmed park area with a well maintained fountain. A nice addition is the purple martin bird houses. As a result, there are many purple martins to be seen flying around. There is an info board to tell you about their history in the area. There is also a very detailed small shelter with info on the history of the rose garden, and how the land was acquired.
Love the gardens and watching the sunset here. Can be crowded. They have security and the beach gets raked every day. I wouldnt stay after dark, but during the day and at sunset it is a beautiful place to be.
Great day up for Fathers Day
This is a wonderful beachfront park, it has swimming, fishing, concession stand, lifeguards on duty, Rose garden, Fountain, 2 play structures on beach, 2 private free showers, bathrooms, shelters, and more. Me and my little dogs had a wonderful time and ended up staying an extra day
We love hanging out at Lakeview. Walking along the beach, sitting and watching people, taking photos of sunsets and water activities. All seasons are beautiful, even in fridge frozen weather. Many photo shoots for wedding, proms and seniors use the lake as a backdrop.

Beautiful location. I love walking the Rose Garden. The Lakeview North playground is nicer than the South Playground (which desperately needs updating) Plenty of shelters in both North and South Lakeview park. Beach is kept clean. EXCELLENT place to play Pokemon Go.
Love this beautiful park in lovely Huron Ohio. Ive been going here since I was a young child. The park has changed much since I was younger, but still a superb park for cooking out or just enjoying looking out over the beautiful water, better know as lake Erie❤️❤️

The sunsets at Lakeview Park are second to none. I moved away for about 8 years and this was by far the thing I missed most about Lorain. There is just nothing more breathtaking in north east Ohio than watching the sunset over Lake Erie.

Always a great way for me and my youngest to get away and also hit up the tons of PokeStops ( PokemonGO ) planted throughout this park. We frequent this location every week to multiple times a week for this.
Park with picnic areas and pavilions. There are multiple paved walking paths and beaches set throughout overlooking large beach. Nice and clean. Concessions and restrooms. Life guards on duty. I do not know if the police are always there but they were the last two times Ive been.
Throughout life the lakes and oceans have been a place that bring a calming feeling to me! When I feel like life has gotten a bit out of control, it brings me a reassuring peace!

Great park. The beach is beautiful. I was here for a wedding this weekend and it was perfect. The reception was held in the pavilion with fantastic views from the big windows and balcony.

On a bike trip from Eylria to Vermillion I stopped at East & West Beach. This is a beautiful beach with awesome views. A great place to spend a summer day, or for me to just refresh and recharge a few minutes.

One of the only waterfronts on Lake Erie that still has a substantially sized beach area (due to high water levels this year many popular beach areas are shrunken). Nice location to the Black River marinas and event sites.

I took these pictures during winter and then went and got a bite at the newly opened super awesome Union Park Provisions Cafe in Lorain Ohio where you get the best freshly prepared soups, salads, sandwiches, and deserts ever!!!
I love going to any body of water, lake, pond or river! This is a nice quiet place to sit and relax. You can swim here in the summer too 😊

The night that we were there there was a gorgeous sunset, even though it was very very windy! The Christmas lights were pretty and the lake was gorgeous
Beaches are usually very clean, are raked regularly. and really big. Water is usually good around here but there are some geese in the morning. They have a rose garden that you can walk through by the parking lot and have easy access to the beach. Public bathrooms are nice and separate stalls instead of just mens and womens. There is even a rinse off station to get all the sand off before you go back to your vehicle.
The City of Lorain needs to clean up Lake View Beach and the rest of Lorain and stop wasting millions of dollars on Giant Clocks and unnecessary stuff like that the does not need.

Beautifully scenic park located on the Lake Erie shore. Clean beach, amazing playground for children, covered picnic pavilions with grills and incredible rose garden. Bird watchers will love the purple martins that nest along the water’s edge. Visited on a weekday and the number of people was minimal.Easy access to the beach.
The beach seems to be eroding a bit, but otherwise it’s fine. Just thought I would stop and take in the view for a bit.

First time visiting since my kids were little. Grandkids loved every moment of our visit!! In the water along the clean beach, and on the land at the play ground. It appeared very well kept up and safe. Well done to the staff, visitors, and local neighborhoods for displaying such Public pride.
Great place to see the sunset!! The atmosphere there is great. Nice place to relax. People are nice. Even if you wanted some alone time, or want to get together with friends or family, t h us is a pretty nice spot. The lighted fountain is nice but,could use a new coat of paint and fresh water though. Still, go check it out if you havent already.

We went to the park for the first time today to see a gorgeous frozen lake. I was impressed with the size of the park, the playground on the beach, and I look forward to going back in warmer weather!
Nice place. The beach isnt too far of a walk from the car. The sand is super clean. The bottom of the lake is sand and not rocky. Its waist high all the way out to the buoys. No current either. We went on a calm day.

Nice lake Vista bit the beach has been eroded pretty badly again. Life guards were only there during earlier in the summer, because who would want to swim in August when it gets really hot? Duh! The grounds are in decent shape and seem to be going through some upgrades and improvements again.
The park and beach seam to be kept up with very well. The sand on the beach and surrounding areas are kept clean. The few times I have been here the park has been booming with activity, people had hammocks set up, there were people playing frisbee and lots of kids and adults swimming in the water. Make sure to walk over to the rose garden if you are in the area as well!

A fun place for the kids. From the playground, to swimming to flying a kite.
The beach is great, especially with the sunset. The biggest issue is the teenagers. Security needs to get them to leave when it gets to the point that they are standing below the restaurant screaming, running in front of elderly people and bouncing basketballs off of the building. I hope you dont plan to walk a young child out there because if you do they will learn some new language from the teens. Also, the dead fish really need to be cleaned up it wreaks horribly.

Wonderful !! What a beautiful municipal facility for the people of the Lorain area. The folks were out in numbers enjoying this Saturday evening. What a great example of tax dollars well spent !! Regrettably, there were some low clouds on the horizon that swallowed up the sun as it descended to the lake.

The water was a little rough but it looked very blue. Alot of families were there and alot of people walking their dogs.
I grew up in Lorain and its nice to see people of all ages using this park. The diversity of people and the activities that they are a part of is pretty amazing. But for me personally, this place is lit if youre trying to fill your bag on Pokemon GO and hatch a ton of eggs.
Its a beautiful place to visit. I like the Rose garden we drive from the east side of Cleveland to go out there. Yesterday I was there enjoyed the beach but as soon as the teenagers came with their volleyball stuff and water bottles and bags of ice they just left all their garbage on the beach thats a shame. And what surprised me about the whole thing is they were all girls obviously in the neighborhood cuz they walk there so I think its a shame that they cant take care of their neighborhood park I dont think they would like it if we came and did that so people should pick up after themselves. Other than that its a perfect beautiful beautiful place to visit.

Spent a wonderful day at Lakeview Park with my grandson. The little library on the lake was open with chairs and a table. He had so much fun in the sand and on the play yards. We finished the day with treats from the concession stand. All in all the day was an a+

I love Lakeview Park. Its so peaceful and relaxing . I go there to walk my dog. Theres alot of shade, the board walk has a beautiful view of the lake and is always breezy. Good for birders as well. Last year a group of swans swam by.
Really nice and clean beach. Great place to take the family. The water was shallow in most places by the rocks. Some of the bathrooms have showers, which are surprisingly clean. Bathrooms are located under the restaurant.

Nice sands but disrespectful people trash it and often very crowded and at least has showers and bathrooms but so gross, need upgraded. My second favorite beach in Ohio at the lake, however, start with this beach early and then go to a less trashy one after.

Lakeview Park is my favorite spot. I love to see the beautiful rose garden and to enjoy the beach at Lake Erie. Watching the families play on the beach and watching the boats on the lake is so relaxing.

Beautiful well cared for by parks dept. Been going here whole life. Rose garden was best ever. Sad the historic fountain closed. Only problem was people who disturbed peace that location is designed for by using it as a drive thru opp to get attention by breaking eardrums music from blasting vehicle along with idling cars & worse insanely loud motorcycles. Security staff nowhere in site at that end. Saw them congregated chatting at opposite side on way out. I was so peaceful looking at the Lake and the sunset but noise polluters were not there for that reason and they stole it from those of us who were.

I love, love, love this park. Its so scenic, so peaceful. Such power in the waves. Id go there ever day, if I could. It was beautiful weather, when we visited, not too crowded. You cant take your pets on the beach, but you can walk them in the park. Picnic areas, swimming, fishing, boating, biking, restrooms. So nice!!!

Lakeview Park is owned and operated by the Metro Parks and is a nice place to go for sunsets, for walks, for picnics. Its just a nice, well maintained place to enjoy thats right on the lake. And the Christmas light, drive thru display gets better every year.
Very nice community area along the waterfront. Easy access with plenty of parking. Pavilions for cookouts, parties, etc. Beach was well groomed. Most importantly, very clean! No trash around, no disturbing noise. Mayor Jack Bradley has done a great job with Lorain!
Everything isnt open just yet. Teenagers can really ruin it at times the way they act. Other times theyre fine. But it doesnt detract from the beautiful sunsets!
I go to Lake view to walk my dog..i feel safe there walking my dog alone..its clean and well taken care of.
Lots of Lorains finest boys in blue so felt safe even though it was getting dark. Beautiful night and Lake Erie has the best sunsets...

Great family place! Nice beach, plenty of bathrooms, good mix of ages enjoying unobstructed sunsets. Rose garden very well maintained and fountain spectacular!! So happy that Metroparks took over and restored this place to its former glory!!

A very nice park. Always clean in my experience. Only down side is some of the trees look like they’re not doing so well and they may be on their way out. Not sure if they can be salvaged, but since shade is key in a park during the summer, it would be nice if they could be healthier. The rose garden is fun to walk through. The beach is always fun, especially around sunset. Always a nice place to go and spend some time.
A great place to enjoy a swim on a hot day, or sunset in the evening. Grounds crews keep it up nicely. Many events and concerts to enjoy thought the summer.

This beach has been welcoming swimmers, sun gazers, and picnics for longer than my 55 years! I go to lake Erie to enjoy the sunsets in the summer and ice covered lake in the winter. This beautiful park is now entrusted to the Lorain County Metro Parks and they are doing an awesome job! This park is well monitored and i always feel safe here. Bring a cup of coffee, a lawn chair, and a good book for a relaxing visit. Enjoy!
Its a little chilly right on the lake but still great for walking your dog. Or if you want warmth, sit in your car at sunset. The best sunsets this side of the OHIO VALLEY.
Beautiful park, hometown with beautiful view of Lake Erie, fishing, beachline, swimming, live it when they light up the pond and turn on the colored lighting at night and everyone can drive by on Lake Rd. to see the pretty lights in the park! Wish they did that more often. :-(.
Clean and beautiful. With a fountain that color changes in the evening. There are also concerts, plays and other events. You can find event listings on the Metro Park website.

Large beach and nice facilities for family get-togethers and picnics. Great views. Walking loops are good for light to moderate exercise.
Just a nice sandy beach park with public restrooms, snack shop, pavilions with grills to cook out, a dog beach, a break wall to buffer the beach. I put my kayak in, others put in SUP, wind surfers, but no direct boat ramp here.

The City of Lorain has really done a nice job with Lakeview Park. Between the seasonal decorations, the care given to the grounds, the rose garden, the fountain, and the pavilions there is plenty of space on the beach as well. The on site hall is fabulously attractive inside and out. I appreciate the activities the parks department puts on as well. They are currently hosting line dancing on Saturdays and while some may think its a bit goofy, the Cha Cha Slide, slapping Leather, and other dances are a heck of cardio workout!
Fairly clean beach area for family use
This was a beautiful park in addition to the Lighthouse. Nice swimming beach open to the public. Bathrooms & concession stand as well. Very clean!
The rose garden is beautiful, the lake is beautiful, and the revamp was done quite well.
Was there for a graduation party. It was so nice because some people we have not seen in over a year. Because it was so hot the place was packed for the beach. It was hard to find a parking place.
Just stopped by to watch the sunset and it was beautiful. Lorain has done a tremendous job cleaning up the park, truly another gem in the city of LORAIN.

A very nice little beach, with a gorgeous rose garden! Definitely wear shoes until you get up to the water, that sand is rough and hot!! I do wish they had better changing areas, or at the very least a bench to set your things so you didnt have to set things on the mucky sandy floor. But overall clean, well kept and a great visit!
I love this place so much! Its beautiful ❤ I love swimming hereAnd for those that dont know all water on this earth got waste there are all types of animals that lives in the water (animal waste) and all water have there own water filters theres the earth and bottom feeders that are the vacuums lesson learn so dont worry about farther west down the north coast waste treatment plant with is another filter because that doesnt mean a thing

Best looking beach in North East Ohio. It’s large and mostly clean compared to other places. Has a park on the beach and an ice cream shop adjacent to the beach. Definitely a nice place to visit regularly with your family or friends.

Made a short visit here and would like to come back soon. The beach is free and was not crowded (visited on a Tuesday so not sure how it is on the weekends). The is also a beautiful rose garden which I would have loved to get a better look at if time allowed.
We absolutely love this park. Its very clean & people that visit this park seem to pick up after themselves wether its their pets or kiddos. The city maintenance for this park is on point. Theres always someone there cleaning or working on the gardens. The actual beach itself has a no pet policy but everywhere else is fine to walk your pet. We havent tried the restaurant yet but plan too soon & well update out review. Also we need to add some pictures! Visit this park if you get a chance. Dont forget its a 10miles or less driving zone & one way in! 🙏🏼

A good place to take your family. Its a pretty lake. They have picnic areas, too. And they have an ice cream shop just down the street. Its nice, too. The park also, has a list of events to enjoy throughout the year.

I rented this venue for my wedding and it was everything I needed it to be. The place is BYOB and open to any catering. The whole process was incredibly easy
Tthis is a very big and beautiful park its a wheel chair accessible too the play ground there are 2 of them are right by the beach parking access is very easy there is gazebo with tables and chairs connect right to the bathroom I am not sure if you have to pay to use the gazebo though. The park is very shady with many tall trees.

This Lake is Always Fresh and Clean ! i Love coming here to relax and take a walk.. The view is wonderful and Clean.... They have this Beautiful Water Fountain That changes colors and you can have a close view and sit and watch its very nice but they only turn it on during the night...& they also have a Playground in the sand for kids its clean as well i always take my kids for awhile....
Lakeview Park is a beautiful Park more so since the county has taken it over the brewery gone all out must see the rose gardens the fountain is beautiful especially at night time with the different colors. Beaches are well caps lifeguards on duty most of the time check schedules. Beach house is very accommodating food drinks and other things. Plenty of picnic areas available easy to see from Road handicap accessibility parking in to the beach house. Restrooms available.

The beach as beautiful as always they redid the whole pavilion area they have a little concession stand that sells packaged ice cream stuffs the bathrooms are really nice with a changing area Ive heard that the upstairs pavilion area they allow banquets and stuff at is really beautiful
Lake view park is beautiful! It a has a clean spacious beach for swimming and wading in the water. Plenty of restrooms and open sand area for playing. Plan for a little stroll through the beautifully manicured rose garden, or through the grass area to the fountain! What this beach needs is some little shops or eateries to bring in tourism and life to this part of town!

Beautiful rose garden. The beach house is great. The parking is adequate, but on a really hot day it is at a premium. The beach is nice, but I dont go in lake Erie because its not as clean as Id like...got pink eye last time.
This beach is pretty nice. Easy access with concrete walk to sand or can use stairs. There are grass areas with grass steps to lounge on. The beach sand NEEDS RAKED. Lots of debris. The rest rooms are a horrible design. 10 separate use toilet/shower doesnt allow for crowds to get in and out easily.
Family fun at the beach. Just more area to sightsee and just see the lake.

The city or the nature parks have done an amazing job making Lakeview so beautiful. The Rose Garden is amazing the beach is clean however I wish there was more room to swim. It seems like theres such a small area and being one of the only public beaches everybody is swimming right on top of each other. But its free and its clean
Beautiful place to relax and walk your pooch. Cant wait for the rose garden to bloom! Great picnic areas. Nice area for indoor of outdoor wedding. Many historical plaques to read along the pathway.
Lakeview has really had its ups and downs in the past. Its currently in at up and I truly believe it will stay here now that its under the authority of the Lorain County Metroparks. I have fond memories hanging out here as a teen, and I now take my 9yr old daughter here to swim and watch sunsets. This is definitely the gem of Lorain.

2022-05-24I come here sometimes to enjoy the lake. Its a clean place. I love to take pictures of the lake and the sun shining down. Its calming. Fun for my son. Plenty of space to not have the place crowded.

Beautiful rose bushes fragrant and vibrant, amazing lakefront views, soft grass to tickle your toes, good vibes to sooth your soul. There are also benches to lounge upon, a pavilion, plenty of garbage cans to dispose waste, on site park rangers, and public restrooms. A must visit if you are in Lorain Ohio. 👍😍

2021-06-30What a great park! I ventured out to explore some new areas and came across Lakeview Park. It was more than a park. Had a great beach, restaurant on site was good. The service there was extremely friendly. Enjoyed the Rose Garden the fountain, and the recycling fish. I loved being able to sit by the beach without having to go directly on the beach with all the sand as I was not dressed for that. Very clean.

2022-06-25It was a pleasant afternoon people watching. We ate at Sunset Cafe and had the best perch and onion ring lunch. It was cooked to perfection and was very reasonably priced. Enjoyed a walk through rose garden but disappointed at care of the rose garden. I assume they are in need of more volunteers. I am only a visitor to area for a couple weeks but if I lived here I would for sure want that rose garden to look better than it did. No one seems to be dead heading old blooms and grass was growing around some bushes. I was sad to see this as it was always a tourist attraction Lorain was proud of.

2021-07-19Great little park with beach areas, picnic pavilions, a playground, and a phenomenal rose garden! I was super impressed by the variety of roses and how prolific they are! Someone obviously takes a lot of care with these.
