Another great Lake Metropark. Whether you want to sit on a bench and look at Lake Erie and listen to the waves, have a picnic on one of the scattered tables or in the pavilion, take a nice walk on level crushed gravel paths, or watch a sunset, this is the perfect place for those activities. The walking paths take you through wooded areas, grassy areas overlooking the lake, and areas with Meadows and wild bushes that are nice for bird watching or observing butterflies. If you pay attention you might even see some bald eagles by the shoreline. There is a very nice pavilion with restrooms. Across from the pavilion you will see a set of steps that go down to the lake. The steps are not very steep and there are four or five small landings on the way down so it isnt too hard to get down next to the water. However the very last step is a lot higher when you climb back up from the beach. At the bottom you will see a lot of large rocks for erosion control and a small sandy strip that has quite a few rocks and sticks, so its not great to use as a beach but more as a place to get a little closer to the water and observe the lake for a bit.

This was my first time here but it wont be the last. We just came to have a picnic lunch. The view is beautiful and, on this day, there were very few visitors. It almost felt like we had the park to ourselves.

Beautiful trails and topography. Lovely fall foliage today, 10/24/2020, and just the right amount of people. Lots of migrating birds. They have two overnight campsites (permit needed), and a lovely building that looks like it can be rented.

Great trails and spotted a lot of wildlife (bald eagle, deer, snake, wollybear, etc). Beautiful fall foliage as well.

Two great camping spots. Be sure to bring a wagon, as the parking lot is kind of far from the sites.

Beautiful place to watch a sunset. Great trails and a watch tower to climb. With the water in the lake high at this time don’t expect much beach to walk on so bring those water shoes.

Another great Lake Metroparks park. What we like about this place is the varied path differences between the west and east ends of the park. The west end is mostly flat and in the sun with a two reasonably isolated camp sites. The east end is mostly tree covered with some hills and a bridge over a small creek that is near the lake. There is a nice shelter/pavilion at the west lot along with a gorgeous view of the lake. There is beach access on both sides offering a lovely view of Lake Erie.
