Lake Animal Hospital in other cities:
I’d like to thank lake animal hospital for always taking such amazing care of my pets. They are the only place I trust. I’ve had to lay to rest 2 of my closest friends, my dog and cat. They are very respectful and informative throughout all my visits. Thank you again for helping care for mine and everyone else’s fur babies, and your respect through hard situations with pets!
They are the best vets Ive ever experienced. They never try to add gratuitous costs to the visit. They care deeply. The vet that saw my very sick cat called me twice in the days after to check on my cats progress. I whole heartedly recommend these guys. Theyve been around for years for a reason.
This Vet is the best. They are very compassionate and knowledgeable. I always feel confident taking my pets there. They have always been able to fit me in at a reasonable date and time. The ladies at the front desk seem to get a little stressed but who doesnt. This is a very busy vet office due to the awesome doctors!
Ive been going here for well over 20 years now. The vets are very good, however the support staff needs a major overhaul. The phone system is a joke. You can never get through to anyone without calling a hundred times. When you finally get through, the front desk staff acts like they could care less. I hate to say this but its time for me to move on.
Really impressed....Dr Paul...never had a vet listen so attentively, take their time, treat my pet with so much compassion and patience. Usually I feel like i am in line at a fast food restaurant when i go to a vet. I have been to many of the local vets. I will be coming back here. Such a nice guy.
I have been taking all three of my dogs here for over 5 years now. The veterinarians are wonderful and truly love the animals. The issue is the front counter staff. The lack of compassion is horrendous The doctors are the reason we have not left to this point. My wife and I have spent plenty of money on our pets, as they are family. One of our dogs recently became ill. My wife called in to see if one of the doctors could see him? She was notified when she arrived that it would be over an hour by the front desk staff, which consisted of three ladies. No issues there, my wife took our dog for a walk to pass the time. My wife returned and one of the ladies at the desk said no doctors would be available now for an additional hour. My wife asked what changed and why she was told to wait and come back in an hour? The lady copped a major attitude thought brought my wife to tears. I wonder who in their right mind hires idiots like this. It is enough to stress out both the family, as well as the pet when visiting the animal hospital.I will assure you this, if the woman with tight curly hair is up front, turn around and head elsewhere. The place does not have a modern web site, or I would include her name. Lake Animal Hospital does have one lady working worth giving credit to. Her name is Donna.I am sure this place makes enough money to lose us as customers, but enough is enough.
The front desk personnel need a course in professionalism. I asked if they recvd medical records from another office, their response I have no idea, I dont even know where her chart is. Then theyre mocking people that called the office, I hear one groaning before she answered the phone. I can understand frustration but speaking so you can be heard by patients isnt very professional and doesnt reflect well on the practice. On the other hand the vets are wonderful, kind, compassionate.
The actual doctors are fine. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and caring, but the receptionists are horrible. My husband has been trying to call to get our cat in for vaccinations for the past three days, but is put on hold for fifteen minutes at a time (that’s when he hangs up). When there, the receptionists don’t even acknowledge you until they’ve finished their long conversation with each other, which makes it take forever to check in and out.
First let me say the Doctors are phenomenal. The problem here is the front desk staff. For generations....my grandparents, my parents, and my siblings....my family has been taking our animals here. I met Dr. Wolfe Sr. when I was a child, Im 30 now. The front desk ladies have always been rude. (Expection was one older lady that was there as a temp when I was a kid) Theyve been curt and uninterested when you talk to them and when they ask questions. But I usually let it slide because they arent the ones treating my pets. Tonight to the cake though and Im sad to say Im switching vets because of the front desk staff. Dont even bother blaming covid lady you missed my appointment reminder in February. Refusing to take my dog until 2021 and my cat until September. I hope the Doctors realize by the time covid is over all their patients will be at other vets..... that youre referring their current clients too. Sorry Dr. Wolfe but you need to fire your office staff. I bet they unplug the phone too. Its not just the hold times anymore. Sometimes (mostly Saturdays) DURING business hours the phone line will say the number youve reached hasihas been disconnected and is no longer in service.
I have now taken three of my four dogs here, and each time Ive had a great experience. They are definitely busy, but as someone else said, this not a drive through. They see a lot of pets, which means they can schedule you in on short notice, but you will have to be patient once you get there. Ive seen two different vets, and both were extraordinarily caring. I have an older dog who is very, very difficult to deal with when he feels threatened, and the Dr. was able to put staples in a wound on his tummy without a fuss - that speaks volumes :) I could not be happier, and believe me, Im picky about who treats my babies.
The Veterinarians are very caring here. They have experience and have treated both our dogs and cats. They are always gentle with the animals and suggest choices of treatment for problems and for wellness care. We always feel that our pets are given excellent care by the veterinarians and staff at Lake Animal Hospital.
I have been going to this vet for years. I have always had a good experience with the vets and the vet techs. The issue lies with the front desk people. They are rude and unaccommodating. “Jeanie” is incredibly rude and literally lies to customers. I called them to obtain proof of vaccination in order to get my dog groomed. I started calling the office at 9am and the phone line was busy signal until 1 pm. When I finally got through to someone Jeanie answered the phone and rushed me off quickly. You could tell I was bothering her by trying to obtain vaccination information, follow up on labs my other dog had drawn, and schedule a yearly visit for one of my dogs. Jeannie took down my fax number and told me she would send the vaccination log to me. I had to call the office three times to repeatedly ask for the vaccination proof and the third time I called I asked if it would just be better if I came in to collect the documents. Jeanie rudely replied “No, I’m sending it now”. Fast forward to the end of the day (they’re closed now) and the document still has not been sent to me even after asking three times. When I got to the groomers they stated that they ALWAYS have this issue with this vet and that the office staff is always extremely rude to them as well. It’s obvious that the customers needs are not at all important and if anything helping customers is an inconvenience for the staff. My dogs grooming appointment was at 3pm and this office had no regard for anyone else’s timeline but their own. I will not be bringing my three dogs back here thanks to Jeanie and her rude attitude and poor customer service.
Vets are good but the front desk ladys are horriblely rude. Bad customer service!!! My dog needs his meds and they wont refill his script till hes seen by the vet. But they cant get him in until September and its July. 2 months wait for meds he needs. They obviously dont care about the animals!!
The best veterinarians in Lake County. Dr Wolf and Dr Krouser are very kind and compassionate and never try to sell you services for your pets that you dont actually need. Almost always able to get in for a same day appointment and prices are very reasonable. The front desk staff can be a bit unprofessional at times like others have said but the doctors are so good Im still rating 5 stars.
Needed to get my kitty in last minute because she was really ill. They were visibly very busy, so I didnt mind waiting about 20 minutes. The doctor was very kind and explained everything very well-- incredibly thorough and compassionate. Moving forward, the doctor gave a few options to act conservatively or aggressively. I left feeling very good about coming to Lake Animal Hospital, knowing I was provided with options in terms of testing and a plan of action to help my furbaby. Hoping my kitty feels better soon. Thanks!
Dr Kaley takes wonderful care of our cat. Sometimes when the staff is busy they can be a little rude, last call literally said “what do you want?” when came back from putting me on hold, so lost a star. Also I waited over 2 hours past my scheduled appointment so lost another star. Otherwise they care genuinely about my pet and caught things that other vets missed.
Dr mark tells it like it is he does not go and charge you for a ton of extra stuff you dont need like some vets do playing on your emotions. My family has been going to his father dr. Wolf senior since before I was born theyre absolutely wonderful here they actually care about your pets not trying to run up your bill. Because of that my chihuahua has lived two years in stage 4 heart failure that is completely unheard of especially when I took her to the Tyler MedVet in Mentor Ohio and they told me I should put her down after giving me a $580 bill went to my vet 2 Days Later when they were open he put her on heart meds and said well see what happens he gave her six months to a year this December will be 2 years the only thing that might bother somebody is that their filing system is antiquated and nobody is running around in a hurry the phones are usually busy for the majority of the morning as they do not have any type of switchboard or multiple lines to answer it is one call at a time so if you are expecting for someone to rush and get you in and out thats not going to happen but that one minor detail is so irrelevant once you have the level of care they give you. Their prices are also very reasonable I believe the office visit is between 35 and 42 depending on if you had a visit or you just walked in they can fill the prescriptions for your animals if you call in the afternoon usually by 5 the same day they do however ask for 24 hour notice I will not go to another vet this is my vet of choice and dr. Mark I personally feel is the best vet there
I love this vet. They care about each animal that comes in and takes the time to resolve what ever might be going on. They are also very kind when you have to put down a pet. Their prices are fair since they are in an older facility but they have all modern services with talented vets
They are always nice and caring. Fees are lower than most. They work with you to save money and truely care about the animals. They saved our cousins dog that swallowed a fish hook when their regular vet wanted to put her down. They have taken us quickly with emergencies. Most of the bad reviews are older and we highly reccomend them as we have never had an issue with them.
Called doopie by woman working there while athere while taking my dog to a room another woman asked me to go and alast summer for women made fun of my disability and talked about medication im only trying to help my mother but do they even hires a Male dr. I have been coming for years had 2 dogs their whole life cycle told my mother about the place was ok until about last year or so towards me i have done nothing wrong believe it or not its the truth
I have taken my pets to Lake Animal Hospital for almost 30 years. Every vet is caring, knowledgable, and kind, as are the support staff. From puppies to old souls who are on their way out, you cannot ask for a more professional or better office for your fur person. After my husband died I recieved a condolence card from them, but discovered it was for a dog they had treated until about the same time. How wonderful! Highly recommended.
I have used this vet for 6 years for my dogs and cats. They are very nice people and the prices are quite fair compared to the other vets in Mentor. I didnt realize I was getting raked over the coals by my old vet near Lowes. One of my dogs got sick and lakeshore animal hospital diagnosed him and got back him all fixed up. I have no complaints. If youre looking for a great vet, this is the place for you and your pets.
I have be going to this vet for almost 23 years, called in to bring my dogs in to get there annual heart worm, flea/tick medicine and was told they couldnt get me in for a HW test for over a month! I could come in and spend the money on an office appointment and get flea and tick medicine but not HW. I would have to come back for an additional appointment and office visit charge...Thats ridiculous, I have said before I LOVE both Dr. Wolfes but their office and front desk staff are rude and un-attentive. I literally called as I was leaving my house to tell them I was coming in, was left on hold until I got there, 15 minutes away. I walked in still on hold, phone in hand and they were sitting there BSing, ignored me until I said EXCUSE ME, they looked at me and said Can I help you! and I said Yeah, Im the one you have sitting on hold... They said We were helping other customers There was no one in there or in the parking lot. Im done with them, the Wolfes will be getting a letter of explanation and no more of my money!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about this vet hospital. They took us in same day right away when I called our puppy was ill as a new patient. After exam she was diagnosed with parvo. Spending 9 days in the hospital she is a survivor. We were treated like family - Dr. Crouser took her under his wing and we are forever greatful. He would give us phone calls throughout the day with updates even after hours. I believe she is a survivor because of the top notch care she received they never let her give up the fight as well as they never lost hope. The whole staff couldnt of been more supportive to our family. We thank all of them.
Henry just loves the people there! I started going there years ago when our other golden was frightened to go to the vet we had .Tucker instantly loved it there amazing ..also so compassionate ..dr wolf carried my injured dog to the car...saved our parakeet... Funny story years ago my dad called late one night dr wolf answers ..hello this is dr wolf..hello this is mr fox my dog is sick..is this a prank call..no really my name is Jim fox..best veterinary care!
Today I had to Euthanize my cat and when the vet took the her back we sat there waiting for the doctor to come back in because I thought they would talk to us. He didnt...they actually didnt even know we were still there until someone came and was going to put someone in the room. Then we asked if we could have samples of flea medication and he said sure so...he gave 3 adult flea medication and 1 kitten and put it in a 6 dose box for each and charged me as if he gave me 6 kitten and 6 adult cat boxes I ended up handing them back and walked out...mind you I am already upset and I cant even think and Im just flabbergasted. I been going here for years...and nothing like this has ever happened to me. I am upset and will definitely be finding another vet after this whole incident...
We had paid for our last visit in cash and when we went to go for the next visit they told us that we didnt pay for our last visit. We had spent every last penny and we had in our bank accounts on our last visit there and just to hear that we had to spend another $70 is BSAlthough the staff here is very helpful and friendly this should not have ever happened they said that our money was not on their books so Im sure that someone put it in their pocket.
Thank you Dr. Mark Wolf for taking the time to be honest and caring. Knowing that Quality is more important than Quantity. Our GiGi was NOT just a pet she was my girl and my husbands best friend. You were kind and caring and did not make it just another moment in time. It was important and you let us have the time we needed.
I love Lake Animal Hospital. The doctors are friendly and knowledgeable and have repeatedly gone out of their way to save ME money. Who does that in this day and age?? My previous vet gouged me every chance they got.So many complaints about the wait. Go in with a positive attitude and expect to spend some time. Im sorry its not a drive-thru.
Finest vets. Too many front office mystakes. On hold every time you call. I was put on hold when I called from their empty parking lot as a test, went in & 3 office workers were gabbing their heads off while not one patient in the office. Only reason I havent left is because of the fabulous vets.
This lady I believe named Jeannie was the ABSOLUTE rudest lady Ive come across. N when I told her youre really rude n asked her for her name again she said thank you VERY rudely and just hung up on me. As well because her response to my question was uncalled for n her lack of concern n her tone of voice?! She SHOULDNT be working with people. I wouldve given 0 🌟 but you cant.
Well, i would give them a 1 star for how they treat the owners, but when it truly comes down to it, they treat my dog with respect and have saved her life. So being rude to me all you want doesnt stop me from bringing my dog here..as long as you treat my dog right thats all that counts
Absolutely disgusted with the service the lady who answered the phone was rude. Told me that all the vets were busy I couldnt talk to one. Then backed up her story with do I think I should be allowed to ask a vet a question for free. Then didnt know how to answer my question. Her tone and answer unacceptable for all the money I have spent there.
Thank you to all of you. You are all so kind and good to me and my babys. Ty Jeannie,Donna,Lisa, Jan, and Kristen. You all have been so wonderful to me . And of course ty Dr. Mark I dont know what I would do without you. You are such a wonderful and great Doctor and also you are so good to the Babys and they love you too. Ty so much.💛 Iam so grateful to have you all in Our lives. Love Marion Santarelli 💜And all the Monkeys aka Cats lol.🤗
Long waiting. and even a longer wait after seeing the dr. iv waited so long to pay them that I walked out and had to call them back to put the bill on a credit card...only to be put on hold for 10 min. very very unorgainized. them woman at the front desk are sooooooooo slow. they will look at you and just keep on doing whatever.

2022-08-08I have been going to lake animal hospital for my over 20 years. We lost our German shepherd a while ago and recently got a new dog. I called to make an appointment and the incredibly rude receptionist said that I was an old client and because I haven’t been there in a few years they would not be able to get me in until November since I would now be a new client. I understand being busy but I’ve spent thousands of dollars here and to say that my loyalty to a place is void because I haven’t had animals for a few years is absolutely ridiculous

2022-03-09Super kind and caring! I take 2 cats and 1 dog here. Each vet is different but equally awesome! Theyre about pet care and good health. Communication can be difficult at times (just expect phones to be busy) THAT SHOWS THEIR GR8NESS THO! EVERY1 WANTS IN😁 all staff is wonderful and caring.

2021-03-12The vets here are caring, capable, and experienced. They also will make sure and get your pet the best treatment for the best price. They took care of our sheepdog who was vomiting all day long. We wanted to make sure he didnt eat something he couldnt pass. They took x-rays and hydrated him and gave him an anti-nausea medication and told us to observe him over the next few days, recommending to keep his diet to rice and boiled hamburger. He is much better.

2022-06-06Doctors and staff treat my pets like one of their own. Hardly any wait time, in and out quickly. Highly recommended.

2022-06-06If I could give no stars I would, they hardly ever answer their phone, and when they do, the women r rude, unapologetic, and hang up on you. Very unprofessional. Someone should hold them accountable for their poor customer service.

2022-01-31Positive - Dr. Mark Wolfe is fantastic. Hes the first and only vet Ive ever been too that seemed genuinely comfortable holding a cat, even when my pet was new to him.Neutral - Today I had a different vet. While my interaction with her was in no way negative, she didnt seem as comfortable, carried my cat in his carrier and did his well-check in the back rather than in the office with me. Definitely nothing wrong with that, just different than what I had gotten used to.Negatives - Due to Covid their policy is to have you call the office when you arrive to check-in, then they call you back when there is a free room. Thats totally fine. Problem was, my first two appointments there were at opening time and they had the phone on DND so I couldnt get through till ten minutes after my appointment was schedule to start. On both my second and third visits my cats records were misplaced, so while they had record that I had scheduled an appointment they couldnt find his file. The first time this happened they ended up just making a new file for him and marking that the original was lost. The second time they found it after ten minutes.Today they assigned us an exam room. After half an hour no one had come in and I heard one of the staff instruct another customer/patient to come into our room. When that customer mentioned the room was already in use a staff member came in said hasnt anyone seen you yet? and said it would just be a little longer.Overall - I kept returning here because the vet was so wonderful, but I cant imagine how draining it would be dealing with the mistakes if my pet was actually sick and not just there for a routine check.

2022-05-29Very good vet. Good staff pets treated like part of the family
