Triple shred black mulch was great and reasonable in price compared to others. Delivered on time and within one day after ordering. Dumped it exactly where I requested and kept mulch out of grass and gravel. Will definitely use them again.
I have bought Mulch from Kurtz brothers for the last 20 years. Its been delivered to my home or Ive picked it up. They have always been strong in customer service. When I needed to increase my order a day before the scheduled delivery, they modified the order without problem. I will continue to buy Kurtz mulch because of their great service.
Highly recommend! Ive picked up soil and had rocks/ soil delivered and they are always quick and professional, even when I needed delivery quickly. The products are quality and helped us grow a beautiful garden this year. The staff is always friendly and helpful, even telling us if products were wet and heavier so we werent overcharged and knew what to expect.
We’ve used the Kurtz Bros Alexandria location the last 3 seasons since moving to Johnstown. We like that they’re convenient & close. Previously we had gone to the location and purchased the bulk mulch with our own vehicle, but this year we had them deliver a large order. Their communication about delivery was good, they delivered ahead of schedule & exactly where we needed it. We like having a quality source so close by & will continue to use them!
Very pleased with both price and quality of mulch from Kurtz Brothers. They delivered when they said would deliver. The very thoughtful driver showed his expertise by dumping the mulch on only one side of driveway avoiding the grass and letting us use our vehicle on the other side. Mulch was just as described, very happy with Kurtz Brothers. Will be buying again next spring.
Easy to work with. I place my bulk orders online for top soil and mulch, they call the morning of delivery, and delivery is on time. The process is quick and painless and they show up when they say they will show up. I also like the quality of the soil, nice and rich. Ive gotten deliveries from other competitors before and the soil contained a lot of yard waste and debris.
The mulch was delivered on time, in a nice neat pile where we wanted it. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. The mulch was also high quality and spread easily. It looked so good, our neighbors asked where we got it and went and got it for themselves. It was a great deal too!
One of the truck driver tailgated me with an infant in the car. We were both on 70W to 71S. ramp. There was a car in front of me getting off at greenlawn as I was too so I could not speed up. Someone was in front of me and I couldnt go any faster. Incredibly scary and frusterating because I cant seem to figure out what I did wrong. He flipped me off and honked the horn when I slowed down even more.

They had a great sale on mulch last year on their website. Bought 10 yards delivered. They called and said they were out of it - but honored the same price on another mulch when they definitely didn’t have to. Great company.
Thanks to the recommendation of our landscaper, we have been using Kurtz Brothers for our mulch for the past 7 years. Their staff is always friendly and helpful and I appreciated their drive thru order system to keep everyone COVID safe when I needed a few extra bags of mulch and soil. These guys are great! I get a large shipment of mulch delivered to my house every spring and they never disappoint. I will continue to work se them year after year.
First off, buying mulch, dirt, and sand from Kurtz was so much cheaper than buying bagged goods at box store. Secondly, Kurtz employees are quick to get you in and out so you can get back to your chore’n. I’ll use them again in the future.
Easily ordered online and quick delivery times were available. They called to let us know they were on the way. We got exactly what we ordered, dropped off exactly as scheduled and loved our mulch. Our yard looks so much better and even people walking past have complimented us. It’s amazing what a difference the black mulch made!

Great company and service. I have used them for the past few years, and used them twice this year, once for mulch and once for soil for a raised garden bed (which is doing amazing with their blend). Purchase 10 to 20 yds of leaf compost each year and have always had a great experiance. This year ordered and was told to expect a gift card. waited 45 days never came. I called and they explained the problem and sent out the card within 14 days. Happy with their response to my call and happy with the outcome. They take care or their customers.

I spent 3 weeks running soil and mulch from plain City to Marysville. Yes, there are other places you can go, but they were so nice, the prices are good, and the quality is solid. You just cant go wrong, give them a try, I think they are better than Ohio mulch.

Not my first time using mulch,I raise some very nice big hostas and usally add mulch weeks ago ago and 3-4 cubic yards yearly,Maybe getting to old or maybe my son had my trailer and didnt return it.Also adds to my veggies plants,If its greener than the neighbors someone probably add mulch and compose.Thanks these folks ❤️ the neighborhood.

It is very convenient for me to take my tree and shrub clippings to Kurtz Brothers for them to turn into mulch.They have a good selection of colored mulch for purchase in bulk (cubic yard).They also sell sand, gravel and top soil.

2021-11-14Easy online ordering. Prompt and accurate delivery. They called ahead to confirm the date/time of delivery so I wasnt surprised and were able to drop an entire truckload perfectly onto tarps in my gravel driveway without any issues or fuss. I have ordered 5 truckloads of dirt (professional blend is my favorite so far for perennial flower beds and vegetable raised beds) and mulch over the past 2 years and have been impressed with the service every time. Highly recommend!

2021-11-13I grew tired of finding construction debris in my top soil and large branches in my mulch and gave Kurtz Bros a try a few years back. I could NOT be happier. The quality of their products is far superior to Ohio Mulch and the prices are more than fair. Top soil is silky smooth and the mulch is perfectly shredded and the color will last and not fade. Its a no-brainer to use them for all your lawn and garden needs.Picture is my yard after using their Professional Blend Top Soil as a top dressing in the fall.

2022-08-08I have top soil delivered every year for our garden usually between 3-4 yards just to top dress our raised beds. It’s super convenient to just order online and leave instructions as to where you want it dropped. As a small business owner/operator my time is pretty limited. The quality of their dirt is always top notch.

2022-02-28The people at Kurtz are amazing to work with. They helped us pick out the best soil for our raised gardens when we werent entirely sure what we needed. On the day of delivery they gave a time range for delivery but still called when they were 5 minutes out to make sure we were ready. The driver was nice enough to make sure the truck made every possible sound and movement when he saw our 2 year old out front eagerly waiting to see a dump truck do its thing. Our little guy will be retelling the story of the dump truck man that visited and dumped dirt for weeks. Thank you to the whole Kurtz team. Your people and product are the reason we wont be going to anyone else, and will only recommend you to our friends and family.

2022-04-23Sadly after more than two decades of using them, we have to move on. $3000 worth of trees delivered, leaves dropped on half of them. Wind burn. Numerous attempts at contacting with messages left, without reply. When they are good they are great but downside to that is when they let you down they kick you while you’re down there.

2022-07-14We called to determine their hours and they said they close at 6 p.m. We got here about 15 minutes before closing time and they had already closed and they refused to answer their phone. Very disappointing service.Response to the owner: We called the phone number for the Kurtz brothers on Frank road (491-0868) and option 2 says that the hours for the Frank road facility is that it is open till 6 PM Monday thru Friday. I double checked 5 minutes ago (after your response) and option 2 still says that your hours for Frank road are 6 PM.

2021-11-11Over the years I had been disappointed with cheap bag mulch, so I decided to buy in bulk. I had heard great things about Kurtz, so I opted in the Spring to order 4 yards of black mulch. Price with delivery was very fair. Delivered on time and dropped exactly where I had asked. Its now Fall and its holding up great. Occasionally Ill accidentally get into it with the mower and its fine enough to chop up easily. I will 100% be back when I need mulch again and highly recommend. Great communication, prompt service, quality at a fair price. Cant beat it!

2021-11-11Its odd to rave about mulch, but getting good quality stuff makes applying it so much easier! The mulch that Kurtz Bros delivered this summer was truly exceptional--properly milled, with no chunks or debris of any sort. And we havent gotten any weeds, so it was also free of seeds. The delivery has always been great; they put it exactly where we ask and are friendly yet professional. Will definitely purchase from them next year.

2021-11-11You guys are the best. For years I used bagged mulch from the box stores. Four skids per year or 480 cubic feet, 17.7 yards. I knew what it took to do my beds. First time I went bulk, I will not mention the name of the supplier, but I ordered 18 yards and came up 5 yards short. Forgot to mention I have a utility tractor with a 1/3 yard bucket so I kept track of the buckets in the delivery and it was 5 yards short. When I told the supplier they basically said I was wrong with no resolution. Well the next couple of years I used your company it is was right on the money. Dont know how you do it but you are the best and very accurate on bulk deliveries. Plus you product is awesome. Thanks for being here.
