Kroger in other cities:
Worst Kroger ever! Only staff wearing masks were those cleaning. Some put them on (incorrectly) as I approached. Disgusting. Woman in deli area cooking food for 100s if not thousands of people without mask or gloves. I will be contacting public health. What is wrong with these people. I spoke to the manager there months ago about masks. Had not been back. Go to any other Kroger, if you must go at all. Total disregard for the public. Please, for your own sake, do not step in this store!
I go to this Kroger only when I havent time to travel to a better 1 bcuz its in my neighborhood. This store us always dirty and I have yet to buy a bag of onions that doesnt have a rotten 1 or 2 or 3. Today I bought 2 jelly doughnuts from their bakery and I bit into a sliver of wood! Its large enough it could have caused injury if swallowed. I wont b back to this one again. So scary.
Every time I go to the gas station I ask this older white woman who works in the evenings in the evenings to turn on the airpump for me so I can pump my tire up she she keeps annoying me annoying me acts like she dont hear me or something She should be fired or let go from her position
Store closing at 9pm should mean 9pm and not Sorry, you cant come in. At 8:50pm when I can clearly see people shopping in the aisles and I literally need 1 item and know where its located.I work in a restaurant and there is a zero percent chance that we could close our doors even 5 min before close.Update: hasnt happened since that incident.
Great, basic grocery store. It may not have everything you could ever ask for, but its got everything I look for. The people working there tend to be nice. The stores in fairly good shape. The general atmosphere can be a little rough at times, but I happily choose this as my main grocery store and I really appreciate that I can find things quickly and get out or make a huge grocery run all at once.
The employee at self check out and the security guards were and are awesome and very friendly to not only me my husband and daughter but to every shopper that was there!! I love that they recognize us from being an everyday shopper there... I love this Krogers over others and will go out of my way if have to just to go to the S.Smithville Rd one!!
This Kroger is not a big store like the newer ones but, you can find a good selection of stuff here. They are usually well stocked with everything and have no problem grabbing something from the back storage room for you. There are always plenty of registers open including the self checkout. My only problem with this store is that their pharmacy is horribly slow!! Also, there are not separate lines for drop off and pick up. There used to be but, some one decided that one line was good enough. If they fix the pharmacy issues, I will be more than happy to give them all 5 stars.
This is a horrible place to shop. Crowded isles, hidden/obscured items so youll spend extra time walking around, broken carts, broken registers, I could go on and on. This location also charges you 50 cents to get cashback on your card, and I really resent that. By and large, prices are more expensive here than other Krogers, and especially Meijer. Will not be returning.
Old store, dont think the refrigerators work very good. I always get smelly pork from here and take it back. Also , they change products to fast. Once you buy something you like and you go back, its changed. And I also noticed if I start buying something regularly, the price goes up! Its close to my apt is why I go to this store but, if I could I would go to the Brandt Pike store. Its bigger, cleaner and more and better selection. The Pharmacy is terrible and I never will use them again. They wouldntt give me my insulin needle tops for my pen!!!! I had to call their corporate office on them. So.... Cant give much positive review on this store.
Lindsey who works in the self-checkout area is great! Shes always there working hard and willing to help. She should get a promotion or pay raise. Its a smaller-sized Kroger than Im used to. The prices of some items especially when on sale are a great value. However some items are ridiculously over priced compared to other stores.Lindsey who works in the self-checkout area is great! Shes always there working hard and willing to help. She should get a promotion or pay raise.(Edited 7/20/18): Just want to add Kelsey or Khaley sp? at the Self Checkout has been great. Shes very quick and helpful.Updated: 8/20/18Who ever was at the express lane today, not sure of her name, was excellent. The express lane at this store is almost always busy and yet the employees always seem to do a good job of helping out and getting people in and out.
I am a regular customer here, and for the most part I love the place. The people are lovely and the prices are the best in town. However, they seem to have a problem with keeping the shelves well-stocked. Its not even a first of the month issue, as it happens often. if you make it past 4-5 pm you will have a terrible time finding what you want in stock. Items that sell a lot run out with 3 or 4 day wait until restock, while items that dont sell collect dust on the shelves. If they could get this in order id feel a lot better giving a higher rating.
Ridiculous! Everytime I visit this place, something negative happens. Last time the security guards came out into the parking lot yelling, Excuse me maam because the cashier obviously wasnt paying attention and told them that I didnt pay for my soda... I showed them my receipt and they apologized. It seemed as if they were apprehensive from the beginning, probably knowing that I made two different transactions at the self-checkout. I understand that there are probably too many thefts going on, but maybe they need to pay more attention to the people that are actually stealing... It was a little embarassing, but mostly just ridiculous... The cashier at the self-checkout obviously needs to pay better attention.
The parking lot was pretty full so it took a little bit to find a place to park. When I went inside the store was crowded. I looked around a little bit to see if I wanted anything besides the items right actually come for. I picked up the items that I needed before heading to the registers. There were lines at all the registers so it took me about 10 minutes to get through the lines.
I usually have a good experience at this store although it has cut down on a lot of products it used to carry. Also even though I have been coming here for years there are sales people who still ignore me, there is no eye contact , no smile and when you ask them a question they give you the look as if you are disturbing their whole day. I have also seen some pretending to work and texting at the same time. The manager is very nice and is very helpful.
Good health food area though small. Lost of gluten free food and good labeling. Good loyalty program to earn points and save on gas. Cheaper than allot of places. Good produce. Service can suck because the cashier tends to forget your coupon or be grumpy and the beggers are all high schoolers. Self checkout is an option. And there is a guard by the exit. Good parking.
Most of the cashiers are rude with the exception of one or two. An employee always seems to cut my family off at the entrance without so much of an excuse me. The employees will argue loudly with eachother in front of customers. The produce seems to be declining rapidly, your lucky if they just stocked. Walking around in this store somedays feels impossible when they start stocking in the middle of the day. I coukd keep going but I will stop here
The only positive about this Kroger is the location. It is dated and dirty on the inside and sketchy at best on the outside. In order for this to continue to be a competitive grocer, Kroger needs to invest in the security and cleanliness of both the store building and parking lot.
Tonight we saw a rat in the aisles eating a pile of sugar on the floor. There were rat droppings in multiple spots. We brought this to a supervisors/managers attention and he shrugged it off, saying it had been an issue for six months. There was a bird trapped inside for weeks at a time. When they changed out the freezers and coolers there was a thick, black grime underneath the old ones. It was disgusting. This particular Kroger could use a helping hand from corporate. Lindsey is a shining star at this Kroger.
I am not ever going to Krogers Smithville Rd again. The fruit is always spoiled. There were flies on the oranges several times. When I mention it to the people that work there they are rude and mouthy. The meat is obviously spoiled and black. I tell the manager and he informs me it is suppose to be that way. Foul mouth customers, scary people in the ugliest stretch pants you could imagine. How they got them to stretch that far boogies the mind. Please, do yourself a favor. Go to Kettering or shop Walmart Beavercreek. The security is not even in the store they are constantly smoking outside. Rips in bag of things stolen. Mold on the bread. It is nasty and for Gods sake keep your kids from there. They will pick up a nasty vocabulary.
If you want to know what its like to shop for groceries while also fearing for your life, look no further! The South Smithville Kroger offers a unique shopping experience for those who like to live on the edge. You probably wont find the items you need in stock, but what you WILL find are shoplifters, drug addicts, screaming parents, and a newfound appreciation for your fragile existence if you make it out alive. May the odds be ever in your favor.
As a whole Smithville rd Kroger is a really good store to get whatever you may need,Although theres times when the shelves are empty of product and Ive heard others complaining about it but hey people nothing is perfect and if its during high volume traffic time or a holiday its to be expected, if you wait and go early the next day then the shelves will be restocked,I suppose they could have an employee restock immediately after it gets low but then -That will be the complaint of stock boxes being in the way.PLEASE, try to find positive situations and then your visit will be better. As with anything,if you expect negatively, that is what youll get.Use better energy to compliment rather than complain.**The only thing in my personal opinion that I think needs to be brought to pattention to be some needed improvement is for management to be less judgmental of customers and assuming a customer is dishonest.Ive seen a customer be treated like she was beneath another based on her appearance of being poor (I witnessed, a cs employee refused to allow her to return a couple items she didnt want or need without a reciept, but the man in front of her a given a refund with no problem at all he didnt a receipt either and his was for much larger amount, but he appeared to be well off financially)That was very disturbing to me.But all in all, Iike my neighborhood Kroger and most of the time, the employees are friendly and informative, helpful.Good job
Not too many people know about this place. I guess that it puts me on the cutting edge or makes me a hipster. I found it by accident, but Ill never forget it. I walked in to this place hoping to buy a gallon of milk, but then I saw all kinds of stuff, like a machine that you pour your loose change into. You drop 45 quarters into it, and it gives you back a ten dollar bill!! Theres also a section of the store that is entirely frozen!
Grab one of the many baskarts scattered around the parking cuz there wont be any inside. The produce is terrible. I dont blame Kroger for that. Why stock what you cant sell? Same goes for the meat and deli. This store is pretty much a cereal, snacks, frozen food, twinkies and junk food shopping experience. Unless its the 1st of the month, then even all those items have been cleverly picked over and raided by an all knowing and very particular, almost aristocratic flair for everything thats unhealthy or at least should be consumed in moderation. You now should have a good idea where you are at and what to expect. If youre not in s hurry and expect more variety and health conscious foods, drive a little further to a suburban Krogers.
These two girls were so rude about us asking the price of some fruit that THEY had marked wrong. This is the most disrespectful and unprofessional place ever. They act like they hate their job and when anyone asks for something they act like it’s a big deal ....... it’s their job
Kroger doesnt care. Ive written about this before and cant seem to find that comment so Ill try again. It isnt so much about the condition of the store, its stock of goods, nor that there arent enough checkout lanes open. Its more about lazy and inept store management. Managers apparently too lazy to pick up a phone and call the Dayton Police Department about the constant handicap parking violations, the constant fire zone parking violations and all the spare change bums that accost the Kroger customers in the parking lot and on every available corner surrounding the store. Yet Kroger management does nothing. If Kroger cares so much about the spare change bums maybe they could give them jobs as checkout cashiers, solving a couple major problems at once. This is my second attempt at bringing these issues to the attention of any responsible person at Kroger. I entertain no hope of resolution because Kroger likes the money but doesnt seem to care about those of us who spend money in this particular store.
Went with my disabled mother, waited on a scooter for over an hour and when a lady came out with one I asked for it just to he told by an employee that she was holding it. Called in to the store and asked if they could hold the next one for us and was told they couldnt hold them. So we left with no Thanksgiving meal and no way to get one now.
Went to this store for a job interview..got the job..went in for orientation it was horrible. Had to file sexual harassment on the manager who hired me. Wrote an 11 page detailed paper on what happened. A week later some rude women from Krogers human resources contacted me and made me feel like it was my fault..basically what she said, If you didnt lie on your application the things that happened to you wouldnt had cause you would had never made it that far. I felt like she was basically saying is was my fault this man stuck his nasty slimy tongue in my mouth. It was my fault he took my info out the computer and started texting my phone..it was my fault that he took me into a part of Krogers that has no camaras and forcefully pulled and held me onto his lap? Eveything this so called Manager did that was wrong was my fault cause i made a mistake and pressed No on a question instead of Yes. Then the women from Krogers human resources with no care and no heart said well we fired the said manager and you should be getting a paper in the mail to appeal your hire process, i dont know what else you want from us. Like i was degraded, disrespected, ashamed, embarrassed, belittled not to mention led on to think i got the job when this manager clearly seen that i didnt on his computer and kept on with his sexual advances until i told him my sister was a lawyer. Krogers was cold hearted ,non caring, and disrespectful to what i went through as a women a single mom just trying to make a living the right way and work to take care my daughter and myself. They checked the camaras and did there investigation fired him and blamed me. Now i wasnt in this for no financial gain but seeing how rude and malice the Human Resources at Krogers was to me over the phone about me being sexually harassed i feel like they owe me something. I didnt even get an apology a coupon to the store...nothing!!
Prices outstanding i saved over$85 dollars.lots of mark downs i was so happy i never saved money like that.normally i shop at my nearby Kroger.i was focused on shopping not the exterior on the outside parking lot hopefully the area can be renovated.overall Kroger had sales all over the store.will shop there again soon.
The employees are rude, and unhelpful. they overcharge on most items, and the store is filthy...just because its in a bad neighborhood, does not mean the store has to look the part as well...the health department should shut this place down.i asked the store manager where something was, and he gave me a nasty look, and told me to go find someone else, that he was busy....he was standing there texting, im sure he was just SO busy...this place is a joke, dont shop here, go hit the walmart or meijers in beavercreek, and be glad you did..
This place is getting really bad last night and a mouse ran right across the floor in front of me Monday I got cheese that was molded opened it for the first time for my lunch and mold on it and about a month ago a bad pork loin and a few weeks before that I got hot dog buns and it had a hole chewed in it and mouse poop in it Im done with them Ill take the longer drive to miejer or Wal-Mart
5 stars due to the fact that your employee ZACH, was extremely helpful.. They didnt have any motorized carts for my mom, so he got her a chair to sit in intill one came available, then when one came available he made sure she got it. Thank you Zach! And thanks for hiriring such good people..
They couldnt cash my check because one of two of their machines was down the Lady Heather gave me attitude so did the floor manager didnt catch his name dont really care to either Ill shop somewhere else from now on by the way Krogers that should have been fixed a week ago you lazy f***

2022-05-04Used to work there, and found a mummified mouse in a trap in asle 9 behind the Pringles. Told management about it and they just waved it off. Went into the store the other day AND ITS STILL ON THE SHELF! (I started working there in October. Ive since quit) not to mention they wouldnt let us rotate the food items so all the older items just get shoved to the back of the shelf. Aside from all of that and the sticky shelves and even the moldy food on the shelves the management is absolutely horrible.

2022-01-18I gave this store the rating I did because of the poor shape the management has put it in. I know someone that works here and the person doing scheduling is clearly incapable of doing the job. Every time I walk through this store I hear multiple employees commenting on the mismanagement and how they are treated none of which is good. There is A clear reason why the turnover rate at this store is what it is and it stems from the top and management thinking they can treat their employees however they want. All that is the reason this store will always be in the shape it is and why Im left in A bad mood every time I go into this store.

2022-02-25Ill be glad when the new store is built. This one is so dirty but convenient. The people at the deli could use a little training. It was my turn and she said, What ya need‽.... what I need is for you to say, How may I help you?

2018-10-24Its a decent Krogers they are hiring they need stockers and due to that they do have a hard time keeping some things on the shelves.

2021-11-18If I could rate zero stars I would. I was checking out at self checkout and watched a few roaches come crawling out the register next to me. I screamed how nasty it was and left. This place needs shut down.

2021-04-18Stacy has a complete disregard for common courtesy, she was rude and seemed very arrogant. The position she is in is definitely not for her and she doesn’t seem to need a job that deals with the public.I will not be stopping in to this Kroger’s again !

2021-02-28Had to get gasoline, and use up my January points. I pulled up to the pump, when I started pumping my gas, I could not believe how slow it was. The next thing I saw floored me! One of the employees came out of the cashier booth, lit up a cigarette, and was walking around the pumps! Normally I go to the store on Dorothy Lane, you never see their employees doing anything like that.
