Kroger in other cities:
You should plan on getting your own cart from the parking lot because they dont retrieve them enough. 9:00pm there is a line half way to the back of the store because only the self checkout lines are open.Jan 2022 update. Nothing has changed from above. And for the past few nights the lights in the parking lot have not been working. Doesnt feel safe to park there.
This Kroger location has a lot of accommodations for individuals who may need them. When approaching the store, I was able to identity 6 handicap spots right at the front entrance. When walking into the Kroger, there is a inclined ramp that goes straight to the automatic doors, this would help a person in a wheelchair wheel themselves to the entrance very easily. When doors are heavier, it can be harder for a person in a wheel chair to access, so the automatic doors are very accessible. There are electric carts for those who need however, when I first entered there was none available at that moment. After first walking in to the store, you are able to notice the customer service desk is directly to the left of the entrance. This makes it very easy for people to get the help they may need right upon entry. After speaking with the supervisor at Kroger, it is incredibly evident that their store is designed in order to accommodate anyone who may need it. The supervisor was incredibly kind and was happy to share how the employees they hire with disabilities are valued and able to be accommodated for in their work place as they may need Throughout the store it is clear that the isles are wide enough for wheel chair access. The sound and lighting in this Kroger seemed very appropriate for anyone with sensitivity to light or sound. Overall, it seems that Kroger does a good job providing the accommodations necessary to help those who may need it in any way possible.
This has been my closest Kroger and one I have gone too consistently for nearly 5 years now. The employees are great and I have had a great experience here for years. But, at 4:15 PM 10/26/21 I went in to get a few things and saw that both self checkout lines were nearly as long as an entire aisle. They are also having a hard time restocking items. I understand the current labor shortage and supply chain issues, but I was in complete disbelief. 3/4ths of their manned checkout lanes are never open no matter when I go. If they arent gonna be used, at least take them out and add more self checkout lanes.Management needs to get a grip. Kroger Co. made 2.6 billion in profit in 2020 and you cant have a competitive wage to bring people in and rather choose to staff skeleton crews for years? I dont understand how more people arent fed up. As I said, the employees have been nothing but great to me but the management of this store is rotten to the core.
Customers do not respect social distancing while waiting in line. The Self-checkout line that is by register 1 can be can get to close for comfort and definitely too close to be safe. They stopped wiping down used carts and baskets as well.If you have any condition that puts you in the at risk category for covid I suggest going to a different location or use their no contact services. This store is close to OSUs campus you notice the influx of people when the fall semester of OSU starts. This location gets extremely crowded, and there is no clear indication as to form a line for self-check out. People will form a line in front of the Krogers liquor store. This blocks that entrance, the main front aisle, and will bleed into register 1s line.People shopping have to squeeze through those waiting in line. People in line are less than a foot apart. This started at the end of the summer so it is probably new students who are unaware of where to stand. Ive been in a situation where 2 lines from different directions have been formed. There is a lot of confusion.people need to be directed where to stand. A sign or am associate directing people will stop the unsafe cluster of people in one location. Using the new registers installed fall of 2019 would help spread people apart as well.OSU is one of the largest campuses in the US. Kroger has to adjust its COVID procedures and guidelines to hand the influx. I worry about the safety of myself and others while shopping here.
Went for some personal items one evening. The only aisles open were the self checkout aisles and the line went all the way back to the meat department! After seeing that unimaginable line I decided to just leave. The young female attendant on duty for the self checkout tonight (7/1/2020) gave me the most bitter, resentful, stare all the way from the other side of the store. Once we made eye contact she did not let up. She continued staring. I asked if something was wrong as I passed her and she said nothing, just continuing this spiteful, hateful glare. As I walked out of the store she yelled something at me. Ive never been treated like this in public. I will be complaining to a manager tomorrow. Here was your line.
First off the employees that work here are the best. Some have been there for years and are always nice and responsive. The managers are typically wonderful as well but are not given the resources they need to be successful. However, corporate needs to learn how to manage their systems for Clicklist and stop it from being overcrowded. THE WAIT TIME FOR CLICKLIST IS 3+ hours so i recommend just going inside the store but the wait times to check out can be ridiculous too. I recommend going to Giant Eagle instead who is always staffed and where the lines go quickly. The store is never stocked because the backroom doesnt have enough storage and this store has more people visiting it than should be. Kroger corporate needs to consider buying a new building and relocating and opening a kroger that can actually service this area. Also, corporate customer service does not know how to actually communicate with their customers or use the constructive feedback to fix these ongoing issues. Kroger has become the worst place to shop over the years. I probably will just drive further out of my way to go to Aldi that actually treats their employees decent and knows how to run their stores to get the prices and food I am looking for.
I shop here often, but its always a frustrating experience. There are almost never carts inside, no matter what time/day you go. So grab a cart from the parking lot on your way in. In the evenings, they close all the lanes except for some of the self-checkouts. When there are a lot of people, like on a Friday night, you wait in line for ages. Why cant they open up all the self-check outs? And they are constantly doing construction or moving stuff around, which doesnt improve anything, it only makes it hard to find things and get out faster. Recently, they closed all the lanes except for one side of the self-checkouts, and the line extended into the area where they were actively doing construction and ripping up the floor. Why couldnt they close that side and open the self-checkouts in an area where there wasnt active construction happening?? Its just baffling how this place is managed. Always feels crowded and stressful inside. The curbside pickup is fine though.
I’ve been going to this store for over 30 years out of convenience. Although there are a lot of amazing people working at this location, management is horrible. Constantly out of things, yes I know it’s still Covid but these things are stocked at other locations. Was double charged for a pick up order, after being on hold 12 mins, was told I had to call an 800#. After 17 mins finally got a person. She kept putting me on hold, after 28 mins of this, I was disconnected???? She had all of my information and didn’t even attempt to call me back? Called again, still on hold 15 mins later? I guess the locations poor management starts with the corporation! I just want my $159 back! Shouldn’t be this difficult!
This is definitely the worst-run grocery store in Columbus, probably in Ohio, and possibly in the entire country. The convenient location is quickly overshadowed by the atrocities you will find within. Its a guarantee that if you go to purchase 10 items, at least 5 of them will be out of stock. It doesnt matter if you go on Wednesday at 8AM or Saturday at noon. The produce is generally already rotten and if its not it frequently rots from the inside and lasts maybe half the time that it should. Within the past year or so, they installed an entire new bank of self-checkout kiosks, however they are only open about 2% of the time. Therefore, the lines frequently stretch halfway through the aisles. It will take you longer to check out than it will to shop. Cough up the extra 25% and go to Giant Eagle. Youre going to end up there anyways since Kroger will be out of half of the items you need. AVOID!
First ever Google review. This Kroger is that bad.Every time I leave this store Im left with the impression that this is the worstly managed Kroger that exists. Truly, there may not even be a management team at this location.Upon reaching the parking lot you will usually notice each shopping cart station overflowing with carts, usually backed up into the aisles. I park far away from these. On your stroll into the store youll pass an employee or two, who seem to go out of their way to make you feel uncomfortable. From glaring at you, to saying something under their breath as you walk by, or even shouting across the parking lot to their coworker... they make it known that you are not a patron or a guest, but that you are on their turf now.Upon reaching the interior, youll notice no baskets available. Youll have to walk around and grab an unsanitized basket that was left by the self check out aisle. That is, if you can get into the building itself at all. This store has a knack for locking their Eastern door, without a sign or notice or anything - youll be abruptly met by a door thaf doesnt open, and feel like an idiot. You will then have to awkwardly walk by a self-checkout attendant who stares at you as if you just told them the sky was falling. Awkward.Okay so its been 20 minutes and youve got your unsanitized basket, youre wondering if the employee you passed in the parking lot is okay, and youre going through your shopping list. By the time you reach your final item, youll be lucky to have 75% of the items you intended to purchase. Today I went to this store at 6:30 PM and there were no chicken breasts. Of any brand. No chicken breasts at a major grocery store. On Monday at 6:30 pm. Wat? Did they all get sold while 60% of the labor force was at work?Ive been tempted on more than one occasion to ask who handles their merchandising and purchase ordering, because the stock outs routinely baffle me.Im not even going to get started on the disaster that is check out at this store. Most of the time its acceptable, but God forbid you try to check out during a peak hour. Its as if this management team doesnt understand how to staff for expected demand. Which brings me to my original point - does management even exist here?If you are in a location between two grocery stores and this is one option, just go ahead and pick the other option. Youre bound to have an unpleasant experience here and Im willing to bet youll come home empty handed in regards to some pretty basic items on your shopping list./rant
In the middle of a pandemic where thousands are dying daily, it should be priority to get customers in and out of the store as quickly and efficiently as possible. So my question is: why did you chose now to completely remodel the store and change the location of every single item? And no carts or baskets at the door? When I visited everyone was on top of each other looking for items since everything had been moved around. Really bad call.
Lines are consistently very long, as in 10+ people in every line. This is clearly an ongoing problem for a while now. The long lines make it very difficult for proper distancing and also make it difficult for people to get by the lines. There are plenty of registers that arent open...They never seem to have carts inside but all of the corrals are always full, so make sure to grab one in the parking lot and clean it yourself.Love kroger, just not this one. Seriously, just drive further to any of the other locations since this one cant handle the amount of customers it is getting.
There are no carts and baskets at the now designated entrance because of virus. Very frustrating shopping there because moving products in totally different isles. They just got done painting and remodeling not long ago. Why repaint the store when there is nothing wrong with the paint job. Why not invest money in employees
Special sale items are great. The biggest problem is self checkout. In the past year, I do not recall scanning my items without there being some problem which adds too much additional time especially when the attendent is busy or not around. Today it took me 5-10 minutes extra to checkout.Customer service is poor when it comes to returning bad produce. In the past year, I have been shopping there much less due to poor produce and customer service. When I go, it is usually after work. As a result I either forget the bad produce at home or do not want it in my car all day. A couple times it was a month before I was able to return it. Unlike other stores I shop, Kroger has developed a policy that produce needs to be returned within a week or two with receipt. I use to buy most of my produce at Kroger because the quality was good. In past year, it has declined. If there is a really good sale, I may go buy. Otherwise I will shop elsewhere as much as possible. Hopefully Kroger will return to better standards soon.
This is an excellent store. Probably the best Kroger I’ve shopped. Their prices are excellent. Customer service associates are nice. I shop there almost every day and never had a bad experience. Customer service can be a terrible gig. I use the self service and it always goes quickly and the people are nice, nice nice! They have also showed good judgement when issuing a credit.
This place is full of wide varietyTheir prices are reasonale compared to other placesThe treatment of the staff is very exxellentAWONDERFUL OF Assortments of canned food ,vegetables, meats and countless other thingsI HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORE for the best sevice with avery high of cleanliness
Great place to shop for groceries. Much lower prices than Giant Eagle. Too bad this location stopped being open 24 hours. They also have an excellent pharmacy with lower prices. My only complaint is their electric carts for the handicapped. Theyre junk. Ive had 3 of them stop working on me in the past month. Its embarrassing to be stranded in the middle of the store in a broken down cart. Get it together, Kroger...Ive never had a cart run out of power at Giant Eagle. Spend some money and get some decent electric carts that work. One more thing, I think its great that you hire some folks with special needs as baggers.......but.....you need to keep reinforcing their training. I find you have to keep an eye on them while they are bagging your groceries. Today I found a dozen eggs bagged at the bottom of a bag with all bread items. I thought that bag had all bread in it and didnt discover the eggs until several hours later. Ive had bags packed with heavy canned goods that broke when I took them out of the cart. I dont want to complain because I dont want to discourage them......so keep reinforcing your training and everybody wins.
Its a very large Kroger and I feel like they have more variety. That being said it is also the busiest Kroger I have ever been to. Weekends are absolutely crowded and i would recommend trying to plan your shopping trips on a week day. On a couple occasions some of the produce can be out of stock depending on what time of day you go.
Great supermarket. Prices are much better than Giant Eagle, and this location is well stocked with nice produce. Kroger is great because they have a lot of products that are their own brand. The quality of these products is just as good as a name brand but they are much less expensive. One caveat about this store...if you shop early in the morning, there are no checkers...or maybe just one. You will most likely need to do a self checkout, which is fine if you only have a few items. But if you have a cart load, the self check stands are not designed to handle that.
There are store associates and other guests who heckle, stalk, harass, doxx, snap photos, and intimidate other guests. It happens on a consistent basis. Some associates and guests go out of their way to make other guests feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Make sure you have an exit plan/strategy in place.
I want to shout out the Dream Team, Brian who is a cashier and Molly who bags. Together they work like a well oiled machine. They are kind and tell you encouraging things as youre checking out. Brian is a really nice guy, I go to his lane as often as I can. In and out fast in the mornings, and great customer service from the Dream Team.
This Kroger is clean and has a pretty good variety and the gas station out front is nice. However, they are occasionally out if things. Once they were out of all oats except specialty or packets for several trips in a row. Overall though, its a fairly pleasant experience.
Very good place to shop. The employee manning the Scan Bag Go information station was extremely helpful in explaining the system and how to use it.The employee that helped us with the build your own meal bar was great at figuring out our dietary needs and what to recommend.Great place and good prices.
Went there around 9:30 tonight and they only had one set of self checkout machines open. The line was so long that I said screw this and went to target. Got in and out in less than 5 min and Target had more the one lane open. I get that Kroger is trying to save money at night by only having one self checkout lane open. But this is on management, management should and could do something about it. But as we know their more worried about the bottom line than the actual customers. They probably wont even read this nor care too.
Store is nice and clean. I hope the management trains staff to report issues and customer feedback, so they can fix them. For example, couple of times I saw missing labels in the section that you can get nuts and other stuff by weight, and I mentioned it to the staff, but still no label is added after months. Also something that bothers me is that, the crackers by the cheese section DO NOT HAVE PRICE TAGS. I have mentioned this to staff, and to me its a selling technique to sell their over price crackers right next to the cheese. Its just not a good practice. Please respect your customers and be honest with them.
There are aspects of this store that would rate 5+ stars. This is a pretty HIGH volume store & I typically have trouble leaving with everything that I came for. But, that seems to be the case everywhere, any more. No matter what grocery store I visit, I always feel like Ive won the lottery if they actually have some of the items I especially want. Often, Ill buy an extra of something just cuz Im not sure Im gonna find it next time Im there.Krigers seema to really go put of their way to be friendly, helpful and accommodating. They go out of their way to make things right. I had coupons for some items that were out of stock and the person running the self Check Out said shed honor them for a similar item in the same brand (it was the Kroger store brand). I thought that was very nice. The produce is usually well stocked & nice selections. I just think they do extremely high volume.
I was in this Kroger recently, and I noticed your employees were not wearing mask. I dont remember if any where wearing gloves. As a former nurse, this greatly concerns me!! I feel this is being irresponsible to both your employees, and your customers. My niece works at Publix in FL, I asked her if she was wearing a mask now, and she said no because their management was afraid it would look bad, induce fear....Im sure that is your reasoning as well. All of your customers dont follow the 6ft rule, they will closely approach workers to ask questions.....I have shopped there 30 some years, you have many older employees who at more risk.I think you absolutely need a new plan going forward, as these next 2 weeks are crucial in Ohio.😣
My sister and I were there to see the National Championship Trophy. This store went all out to make everyone feel welcome. Free samples were given throughout the store and outside to people in line. The carnations are beautiful even after over a week. Thanks, Kroger, for making it such a fun day.
I shop mostly at Kroger on Chambers Road in Columbus Ohio It s easy in and out. I buy Kroger brands. Prices are more economical and as good or better than name brands. When I have to ask for help finding items the clerks are always ready to show me where the items are or tell me exactly where to find them. I do have to shop at another store for honey. The honey you carry (you do carry a few brands sourced outside the USA) I wont buy outside USA.
I was visiting my parents from out of town, when my son was hit with an allergic reaction. I went to Doc in the pharmacy with some questions about the over the counter products and he was amazing! He took the time to answer my questions completely. He was as always friendly and polite. The pharmacy at Kroger on Chambers is fantastic.
This location is large, has a great selection, but I would try to avoid Sunday afternoons there because it is a madhouse. The place is packed, and the shelves are picked over. To be fair, Im sure any grocery store would be like that on the weekend, but this location just seems to be particularly crazy. I also suggest bringing head phones, because you will be hearing constant calls for someone to come ring up alcohol for the teenage cashiers.Bottom line: try for a weekday afternoon if youre looking for the peace and quiet of an Aldi, but a much bigger selection.
No matter what day, what time, whenever, the shelves are picked over with huge empty areas. Spinach or kale? Nope. Chicken broth- all gone. Canned tomatoes- nowhere in sight. When I ask for assistance (extremely hard to find here), an employee gleefully points to a brand of the missing item that is two to four times more expensive than the brand that is completely gone. Yes, duh, that brand is still here, because it is ridiculously overpriced. And the crowds and the lines! Ugh! No matter what time of day, the aisles are crowded with dollies of unpacked boxes. Cant you do that when crowds of people arent standing around, blocking the aisles with their mouths gaping open? Every time I go here, someone walks backwards and steps on me. And dont get me started about the lines- most people have to line up in the self-serve checkout because few checkouts are ever open, and the line backs up into the aisle nearly all the time. Why? Because people have to self-checkout with dozens and dozens of items. If Im lucky enough to go through a checkout manned by a human, the baggers consistently put all my groceries into one over-packed bag, so I have to stand at the door and repack my groceries every. single. time. Id rather drive 3 miles to Aldi than get my elbows out and fight my way through this place to pick up a few lousy crumbs.
A decent Kroger. Its usually pretty busy, but not obnoxiously so.Pros: Clean, good pharmacy, good produce sectionCons: Employees can be a bit cold, disappointing international & specialty foods selection, traffic pattern in front of the store can be challenging to navigate (not their fault)
Do not use the click list grocery pick up. 1st time I used it I waited 1.5 hours for my groceries and they told me it would be 15 min. 2nd time they told me they were too busy to pull my order and they would cancel it and they still havent. Ive called the store 5 times and customer service 4 times and the store says its cancelled and customer service does not. Worst customer experience ever. I have been shopping at kroger for 7 years and am switching to Giant Eagle.
This is my go-to Kroger. Everyone is super nice here! I find the prices to be better than competitors. The app they have helps a lot because it organizes your list items by the section of the store youre in. It also saves frequently purchased items. If you dedicate a little time to that on the front end, your trips are quicker and youll have savings from not adding things you dont need. My only concern is that as it isnt a huge store, some types of produce arent always there (scallions) and if you go at a weird time, like late at night, some items might not be fully stocked. Overall its my favorite store still!
Everytime I come here, I lament the fact that they spread all of the natural and organic foods throughout the store, because its harder to find things and has added quite a lot of time to my grocery trips. Additionally, the parking is always ridiculous. This is one of the busiest Krogers Ive ever shopped. Go late at night if you dont like crowds.
This Kroger unfortunately is chronically understaffed. The store itself is nice, and good selection of items, but its bogged down by huge waiting at the register and not many people to help either in the store or at the checkout. Have plenty of time to wait and dont be in a hurry.
For Sunday, parking was great. Produce was fresh and good prices. Grocery shelves were quite bare. If appropriate, shelves should have pointers to additional stock on endcaps, if any. Checkouts were open, lines were short. Cashier Jxxxx was more interested in gossiping with other employees than in me or my order... he never greeted me, took my money, wanted to explain every detail on my receipt (annoying and unneeded), then made a half-hearted attempt at bidding me a good day... Terrible experience today. Overall, pretty stinky.
My favorite Kroger store in Columbus. It has a friendly, non-pretentious, and relaxed atmosphere. The prices are reasonable.....well at least more reasonable than other Krogers. I can find most of what I want, and for a fair price. The prices did go up about 2 years ago after they remodeled the store, but, thankfully, the prices seem to have stabilized and have gone down somewhat.
I feel almost disheartened to even have to write a review about my favorite Kroger location, but it has gone into a downward spiral since last year. Almost all the employees and the red vest shift leaders are awesome people, several of my friends actually work here, however there seems to be some shift in the way management has been treating both the store and the employees within the last year. Several times, my friends that work there have mentioned that they have been written up for either doing more work than they normally do, thus causing management, to [quote] write the said employees for making other employees look bad. One friend of mine whom is a cashier, got written up for not scanning enough produce tags, however she was noted to having such great human connection with all sorts of customers that she actually had people that shopped there just to go through her own check lane [from people her age to old timers]. Why would a company be so afraid or mad if a cashier brought a lot of traffic to the store. Oh, thats right, people arent supposed to some despotic run grocery store for one cashier, they are supposed to go to the store because of brand recognition. The pharmacy is nearly perfect, however, G**y [pharmacy tech] has given me and several other customers the creeps, everything seems to be a race issue with him [a phrase I dont even like using-but this behavior should be pointed out as G**y has an, everyone is out to get him vibe-Ive tried being nice to this guy on several visits and still the same drone out attitude]. However, Doc, Kayla and everyone else are so nice and have such a great human connection they are people you would swear were your best friends from high school. When they changed the health food section and merged it with the regular isles, I think that was not a good move, especially for the local clientele who can simply jog down the street to Giant Eagle find what they need even at a higher price than having to dig through the isles to find what they need. On that note, almost every third item is either empty or one or two facings.Lastly, it seems the actual white shirt office management are completely out of touch with reality and take everything any of the employees say as a threat. Most of these managers I wouldnt even have a cold one with or let into my home. Not even the red vest shift managers tend to know who is actually in charge. There is a fairly new manager whos name is pronounced, MikeEarns, [before someone in Kroger compliance and PR says, no one by that name works at the Kroger location in question, I believe the manager in questions name is spelled like this: Mykerns. This manager is nothing but a plastic smile and complete utter liar to both the employees and customers alike. There is a YouTube video of this guy talking trash to people in the store and all this guy does is walk around jive talking in some street dialect and scanning shelf tags when the carts spots are filled and there is only two check lanes open on at peak hours. One of the MRDD employees whom Im friends with has even mentioned that she had to go through some demoralization meeting at the beginning of her shift and was made to feel unwelcome because she out performed some of the other employees on some spreed sheet. The red vest shift managers can verify what Im saying here. Thanks for your time.
Ive bought a lot of Kroger Brand jarred items lately and the lids are always opened! The plastic packaging is still around the lid but the lid wasnt even shut. Under the plastic packaging around the lid was always a molded and wet area from the liquid contents inside. In 3 months this has happened 4 times (pickles, curry flavoring, etc.) Someone is going to get very sick soon. Dangerous and sloppy handling of jarred items. I will not buy Kroger Brand anymore and Kroger needs to investigate this matter.
They dont stock natural or organic sirloin. It is a weekly purchase of mine, so it was a waste to come here. Next time I guess Ill check the app so I dont end up disappointed. They have the scan and bag system--whatever its called. I didnt try it. Id like to but... You know... They dont have my steak LOL.It was clean and I thought it was well stocked with everything else. Employees friendly enough.
The employees are very friendly and helpful. However, the store overall is undesirable at best. It is frequently under stocked, fairly disorganized, and often dirty and dusty. And apparently they dont take their 6 oclock opening time very seriously. If it werent for the staff and its close proximity to me I wouldnt even bother going.
I ordered a drink from the Starbucks located inside the store and it was extremely watered down. I very politely explained the situation to the barista. He rudely asked what I had to drink (cold brew), grabbed the pitcher from the refrigerator (the same one he made the original drink with), poured it into my glass and handed it back to me without saying anything. I preceded to go to guest services to explain what had just happened and he was just as rude. His only response was “I’ll send a manager over” then he picked up the ringing phone and turned his back to me. Terrible customer service.
Great location, close to home. Always friendly and helpful staff. Never any waits to check out. There is a liquor store, however it closes at 9pm. Also, dont try to shop here on Sunday evenings or Mondays. There are a million people in the store and everything is out of stock.
I Love Krogers, but, not this one! I use it only because its close. It used to be Great but now there are never enough tellers, Lines are long for both self checkout and employee checkout. Managers stand behind the counter doing nothing instead of walking out from behind the desk to help their tellers with long lines like other store managers do. This is one of the most profitable stores in the midwest, yet they cannot stock their shelves. Knowing Kroger water is selling and shelves are emptied wouldnt you think they would order more to keep it in stock? Knowing people are coming into spend money should encourage management at this store to keep the shelves loaded. People choose to go to Giant Eagle because Kroger Chambers Rd. Has empty shelves especially on Sundays. Their excuse, OSU football. Knowing a game is every Saturday should encourage management to readjust employee hours to make sure shelves are restocked for the Sunday crowd instead of going Oh Well sorry funny thing is the employees are always apoligizing for this lack of management.Update: After I wrote this I went in the next weekend they double the tellers and it was stocked.Update 2: We are back to square 1. No brown sugar, water out of stock, no corned beef, no Pork loin, no fresh bread (bakery), etc etc. Had to go to Giant Eagle and buy everything I needed. Sad their management cannot seem to figure out how to order correctly and get it on the shelves so it can be purchased. I can only imagine the money they are losing when customers leave and go to Giant Eagle a fully stocked and easy check out lane system store. Keep up the solid work GE. Keep trying Krogers Chambets Rd.
This Kroger is great. The cheese department is especially wonderful with friendly knowledgeable staff. However, their baggers are the worst. I had one actually yell at me for the way I put my groceries in my cart. I tried to get her to stop and she wouldnt let up. The cashier just kept her head down. Then, I had brought in my own cloth bags to avoid using plastic. I handed her the bags and asked to have my groceries in my bags. I was shocked when she proceeded to put everything in plastic then put them in my bags. I told her that was pointless and she simple said thats how I do it. Plus everything was a mashes up mess. So annoying! This is one of many many occasions where the baggers nearly destroy everything.
One of the bigger, more organized grocery markets that are somewhat in The Ohio State University campus vicinity. The aisles are always clean and the sections divided succinctly. The produce section is usually fresher and with a larger selection than the other nearby Krogers and the front of the store has several segments dedicated to alcohols, wines, etc.
Update 3/18One star. Between the care less staffing who make checking out a throw your groceries hope it hits a bag and make sure to put the eggs on the bottom to the incredibly poorly concieved integration of their organic products. Which took forever but now force you to go up and down each asile when all you wanted was one item because well hell now we will make you look at everything in hopes youll buy more. Maybe they dont even carry it anymore who the hell knows? Certainly not the staff. This includes the what ever they are trying to pass off as an Amazon imitator of scan your stuff and skip the line that didnt work now 3 times in a row.Poorly laid out poorly stocked poorly attended. All lines are usually 4-5 people deep and self checkout is just left standing in the middle of the asile hoping not to get run over because there are only two actual checkout lanes open. This place is 95% a hot mess 3% poorly run. The only 2% that is positive is the convenience of the neighborhood. This place has been on a down hill slope for the past 2 years. Clearly trying to scramble to get a footing in the changing grocery market place and it shows.Selection is spotty with no real explanation as to why or when things are out of stock. Play dodge the pallet when stockers leave 3 of them out in an aisle as they stock at mid day while others duck in and out of the back barely smiling or engaging in conversation as they go by. Get glowered at by the guy getting the cart who looks more likely to scream at the kids on his lawn than wish you a good day. Prepare to stand in 5 people deep lines at self checkout because they only have 2 lanes open at checkout. Location is great.
Some parts of the job I did enjoy, like my coworkers . But other than that this is only a good job for someone who is seeking their first job. They dont give you the proper training that you need to know for the job. Upper management was unless when something happen. The Union is worthless especially when you need them.
THE ITEM WAS DEFINITELY PLACED IN THE BAGGING AREA. Plus the international foods section is lacking. Ive wanted to make the simple and delicious dishes of gyros or pad thai but cannot find any of the needed ingredients for a not so unique international dish. In the rare instance that youre able to find someone to help they usually let you down saying they dont have it. Also the self checkout is usually the only thing operating. Sucks when you have hundreds of dollars worth of food. Very poor customer service. In anguish, I will do my shopping at Walmart again which also sucks.
The parking lot is now over crowded at all times, not just rush hours. I spent an hour trying to find 3 things: Qtips, wax melts, and nail polish remover. No one could find them. I guess Ill be shopping at Giant Eagle from now on, since we always end up there when we cant find a parking spot or basic items thanks to the horrible store remodeling at all the Krogers nearby. Dont waste your time.
I just moved to the area from Dayton and I was unimpressed with this stores selection. They didnt have the individual bollillo rolls that Ive seen at every Kroger Ive been to in the last several years. They also only had one option for sweet potato fries. My main issue was the staff, one of them called me babydoll and then told me that the spice I requested on my fish wouldnt taste right, even though Ive had it before and liked it a lot. The bagger also asked me a lot of invasive questions and tried to flirt while bagging my groceries, not something Im looking for when someone is on the clock and expected to behave professionally.
I live in Hamilton Ohio and my grand daughter was having a special 13th birthday party. She lives in Columbus. I wanted to do something special for her. So I decided to order roses for her to be able to share with her friends after the party was over. I called the florist at the chambers road location and we talked. Her name is Christine. She went above and beyond in customer service and even sent pictures so I could be sure they were perfect. This meant so much to me. So thank you Kroger and especially Christina for letting me do something special for my grand daughter. #onehappynana
Not the best Krogers to work for, I worked for this location last year at around spring time. Management didnt know how to get their work done. While I was training for the jobs I overheard the general managers cussing infront of me and acting very unprofessional. They would constantly take smoke breaks, honestly I believe thats all they would do while cussing at each other. There is a probation period and after 90 days who are qualified for a union and get several benefits. BUT on the 89th day they fired me for no apparent reason and I know for a fact my coworkers set me up! They would tell me to do things that were against the companys conduct. Meanwhile during the probation period I have to pay several union fines. $25 were talked out of each paycheck. And I PAYED ALL of my Union fees and ended up quitting so this company pretty much steals your money and they try to find any little mistake youve made for them to have an excuse to let you go. Please please dont work for Krogers, find someone who actually cares about their employees
I did my grocery shopping and couldnt find the Basil. I kept shopping and came back to it. Still couldnt find it. I asked Mike working produce around 10:15am September 26, 2017 and he apologized that the truck had not arrived yet and they wouldnt got a resupply till later in the day. He offered me a Basil Plant for the inconvenience to Make It Right. Im very, very happy with the customer service that Mike gave me. Thanks Mike!!!!
If I could only shop at one grocery in a four mile radius of OSU, this would be it. But since I can shop at a wide variety of grocery stores in this area, heres what I do: dairy, basic produce, basic nonperishables and seasonal items at Aldi; non-basic produce at Kroger and Luckys; non-basic nonperishables at Kroger; prepared foods and related services (catering, specialty bakery and meats) at Giant Eagle Market District; ethnic foods at the various ethnic groceries along High Street. I try to stick to advertised specials and in-season produce. You can eat well inexpensively doing this.
Clean, well lit parking lot, helpful staff, GREAT pharmacy techs and pharmacists, etc. The only annoying thing is that they do have bare spots on the shelves from time to time, but considering how busy they always are and the fact that there are constantly people out on the sales floor restocking, its totally understandable.
Les, in produce and the Tall 20 something that ran to the back... Carl? Shoot! I cant remember his name. Went out of their way for me. Les over heard me mention I needed Rosemary for my husbands birthday dinner. We were having fish. He sent me to the other gentleman who ran to the back and came out with the freshest, off the truck produce. THANKS AGAIN!

2022-01-31Parking full! One line open for check out while half of self check outs were not open. Customers lined up from front all the way to back of store waiting to check out. All I needed was hot dog and hamburger buns!!! Never seen anything like this before. Ended up at Giant Eagle in and out in 10 minutes. No empty carts in store to use. Must be a worker shortage. Lol

2022-01-28This store is always busy. Often times there will be long lines with only a couple checkout Lanes open while there will be a completely closed off self checkout bank. Then theres a dedicated employee telling the folks in the mile long lines to not block the store aisle. Its a very USSR grocery experience. Nothing against the average employee. There seems to be a management and customer service issue.

2022-04-18This place has really gone downhill. Poorly stocked and lines are always 20-30 people deep. They don’t have enough workers, which probably means they don’t pay a fair wage. Do better! Probably going to start going to Giant Eagle instead. More expensive, but the lines aren’t nearly as bad.

2022-06-08I love the low prices and selection, but I’m shopping at Giant Eagle from now on.Too many times I’ve been in the checkout line for 20 minutes or more. The crowded aisles and long lines are bringing out the worst in people. The final straw was this week when a young couple cut in front of an old lady (and a lot of other people) and ignored her—and then they got mad at me for looking over. It felt scary, especially because they were already mad.I’m over it. Thanks to all the folks working there. You’re heroes.

2022-03-08Great place. Long lines. Not enough lanes open. Parking lot is always full. Where are these cars coming from? Shopping carts are missing - they cant all be outside. I think theyre slowly disappearing. 🤷🏽

2017-03-02We have been to Kroger stores across the US, literally. And this has been one of the nicest ones. Nestled in a neighborhood with colonial style housing. The produce and floral layout is superb. All the departments were well stocked and kept. The bakery department had beautiful cakes.

2022-04-21It is a very enjoyable shopping experience. A few of the cashiers have even remembered me and called me by name. They really put a big emphasis on customer service

2022-06-28I cant stand the serviceIm on a food assistance program such as snap or EBT and I have to say every time I try to buy something with it at Kroger its never excepted unlike Aldi or other stores this Kroger cashiers are rude and disrespectful when I try to use my ebt especially the chambers rd location in Grandview heights Ohio I can honestly say worst company ever I feel bad for the people working there and I understand that Im probably going to be judged for saying this but honestly I just want my truth heard Ive been reject by my EBT 3 times and felt like a fool having to leave with out my groceries if I can help someone else with the same issue Ill be happy

2022-07-10Worst kroger in the city. It doesnt matter when you show up. 90% of lanes will be shut down. You will wait in line 15-20 minutes. Morning midday or night. Management just does not care at this location. Why are the inner city stores run more smoothly?
