We always get our food fast and its always what we ordered. My family loves it and always gets it when we are in town.

This place is amazing. It is so inexpensive and has the perfect hamburger. Every time I come to OH I have to stop here. They always put the perfect amount of toppings on their burgers and everything always comes out cooked perfect and fresh.
Just ok for me. I expected more burger taste. I recommend getting a double meat burger. I would do that. This place is very well supported by the Lima locals. Get a double burger.

Im 64 years old. Been eating at Kewpee since I was 5 years old. The greatest place in the world for burgers and all their food. BEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD!!!
Good burgers at a great price, I can see why its a staple in Lima. Theyre little skimpy with the soda though.
Burgers were pretty good and people were friendly. The down side is that it was painfully slow, their cleaning method needs improvement, and bathroom should be updated in being ADA compliant.

This place is a hometown FAVORITE!!! Hamburger pickle on top makes my heart go flippity flop!!! Soon as I get off of I 75 I go straight there. The best burgers hands down!!! They just need to have diversity in hiring. One minority TOTAL out of 3 locations is unacceptable in 2019. I was born & raised in Lima & there were NO minorities working there. Great food but its time for progression

Great food. I love the way they take orders. Our only complaint is that the seating is not large person friendly. Aside from that, I definitely suggest giving them a try. The burgers are perfect!
Love this place. Ive been going here since I was a little girl. I remember when they had the carousel for the cars because it was a dead end parking space. This is a historic restaurant famous worldwide now because of Wendys. Dave came to Lima and tried to steal Junior from the Kewpee. They did get permission to use the recipes.
If your in lima its a must to have and burger and fries qnd the best sugar cream pie ever.

Good place to eat burgers. The first time I tried their burgers, I was so impress as the Pattie is so fresh and juicy. Being a non burger person, I can say this place made me change my mind about burgers and now I crave for it. The ambience is normal fast food feel. The second burger I tried was the other branch near east gate but it seems the quality is a bit lower than the one here but it’s still good burger.Great burger and highly recommended if you crave for burger. This is one of the iconic place in Lima so give it a try.Recommendation: an outdoor tables would be great for the customer to enjoy the burgers and the weather during summer.

Ive lived in different parts of the USA and Kewpee is top 10 in pure taste. Also I would say the buggers really dont lose that much weight after they are cooked!

Ate here during a visit over the 4th of July weekend. Very nice local Fast-food restaurant. Has a nice size dinning area and the food prep is decently quick. The food ordered was excellent much better than some other fast food places. They have a great selection of fresh made pies and an excellent lemon slush. During my visit to the area my girlfriend and I actually went back a couple times after our first visit. Who highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and wanting something quick to eat.

Bellefontaine & AllenTown rd Kewpee always does my oder rt. The DT kewpee os a mess & only has a bunch of kids running it & out of control.
Do yourself a favor go to Wendys. So much fat in their meat. And Wendys frosties are so much better. 👍👍 Chili is too salty
There was a fair line to eat inside, but it paled next to the absurd drive thru line and I wanted to enjoy the ambience and nostalgia anyways. Brought my family here after passing the place several times recently. The burgers are very good, flavorful and big enough to satisfy. The French fries were similarly good, after adding a dash of salt. The chili was underwhelming, lacking in flavor a bit, not bad but not memorable. Chili aside, everything tasted great, and perhaps the most incredible part was the price; youll spend more for lesser food at almost any fast food joint. With a burger, fries, a drink, and a dessert for each of the four of us, our bill was only $30. Incredible value.

I waited in line for 20 minutes to order my food, and that was inside not at the drive-up window. It was at 2 in the afternoon and the service was very very slow. Food was decent but on a half hour lunch, I only had 10 minutes left to eat it.
I absolutely love Kewpee and stop everytime were in town. I was less than impressed by tonights meal - the fries were cold and the tea tasted old. But that wont stop us from stopping the next time.

Hamburgers were so gristley! The bread was stale. I couldnt even eat it. Nasty, incompetent workers. They have really gone down hill. The Eastside of town is still yummy especially early in the A.M. Hot, tender beef with buns that seem fresh baked! Super nice ladies work there.
I asked that gentleman to please dont smash my hamburgers down and they smashed the whole bun down and hamburger and one have them didnt have the right stuff on and I had to go back and get it fixed. Then they forgot the olives. So I paid for them and didnt get them. Wasnt going back for the third time. I tell him exactly how I like my food no matter where Im at. It hasnt been the same for a few years now. I dont believe the young people care about a good tradition. But I will go back. So sad

Ill rate this place a 5* every time. Ive been coming here since I was a kid and I didnt even live in this town lol. Now I work in this town and get to enjoy this great food from theyre pies, to theyre fried and of course the burgers. I definitely recommend eating here. You will thank me later.
I was in town visiting family & since I hadnt had Kewpee in several years, I decided to stop by. There were several cars in front of us when we got there, but, the line moved fairly quickly. My burger & fries were just as I remembered them. Delish! My fiance had only had them once before (our last visit to Kewpee 5+ yrs ago) & enjoyed his burger, too. Kids loved theirs too! We look forward to coming back on a future visit to Lima.

As always, great food. My uncle and I were here visiting my gramma in st Ritas. Ive been here a time or two but this was his first. We both ordered double cheese burgers and fries. He was surprised with how good everything was. After a long day at the hospital, this meal was well enjoyed. Great staff and friendly smiles. Always had great experience with every visit.

Maybe it was the location and not the company in general. I was told that this was an old fashion juice greasy hamburger place. I did not make a mistake ordering because there are no choices for types of burgers and that is fine, this is a very old establishment. The prices are great. The cheese burgers needed seasonings or at least salt. Really my my biggest disappointment was that it was dry and tasteless. But please try again or another location I also tried the down town location to give the company another try and that cheese burger was very good i was much happier.. There is always a long line and they have been in business for 92 years so they must have something going right for them. They have pie and malts.Let me tell you that if you have a big eater the burgers will be small to them.

Love this place you can also sit in here now and the hamburgers are so good and their fish sandwich are good to fish sandwich are $3.00 and their pop for a large is $1.00 and large tea $1.00 you have to eat here...
Ive wanted to eat here for years and yesterday was the day. ABSOLUTELY worth the hype. Splurge and order with everything, but youll need plenty of napkins. Fries were OK, but perfect to sweep up the drippings with. Go inside to order if you can and watch the cooks make your burger.
The flavor is there but these are always better at the downtown location. To drive thru you must enter thru the alley. There were at least ten cars there at 1:30 pm. And still at least ten behind us at one point. You can enter at Allentown Rd and park and go inside and order. I just wonder if these burgers would have been warmer, because that is the only complaint, that they were not very warm at all.

You ever had to have a dam built for the amount of drool and grease that comes out of your mouth after sinking your incisors through the juicey ever so indulgingly satisfying specimen called a kewpee hamburger? If you havent, you may want to stop by this place, if your wife is 38 1/2 pregnant bring her here. The orgasm of flavor is sure to put her into labor!

Best cheeseburger in town. I feel lucky to have grown up around kewpee. It is a childhood memory that I will forever cherish and share with my family. I would tell everyone they have to try kewpee at least once in their lifetime. It is worth driving out of the way to try. They also have pies you can buy slices or the whole pie. They even offer it frozen if you dont want to eat it that day. Chili is also really good, it is the only fast food place I would ever consider getting chili from. Their malts are the best as well. I have slight intolerance to dairy so ice cream is not my friend anymore but with a kewpee malted I have never had a problem so they have got to have a secret... love this place.
The lines were a little long, but our Kewpie hamburgers were worth the wait as always! The line outside looked like it would take too long, so I went inside. As long time Lima residents, Kewpie has always been a favorite, but we hadnt stopped for once since the lockdown began. They didnt disappoint. Best hamburgers, fries and cherry pie in town!

The burgers are simple but AMAZING. I grew up on the west coast abd missed and CRAVED In-n-out burgers but aftrr eating here they are just as good as in-n-out... now Kewpee just needs to add a secret menu like the animal style items!

I door dashed 2 double cheeseburgers and a chili and kewpee forgot to give me 1 of my cheeseburgers so I called and spoke to someone and he was very disrespectful on the phone. He said it was doordashs fault and asked me for my kewpee receipt. I had it and it shows I paid for my food then they guy on the phone wouldn’t answer me anymore. Worst customer service. I spoke to the people at door dash they are not allowed to open my food so therefore kewpee denied to give me the food I paid for.
This is as I understand a long standing iconic burger place. I found the atmosphere to be good the staff to be friendly. They got our order perfect good job my only complaint was the fries were really expensive for what they were. Change the price guys and 5 stars.

The hometown favorite. Its been around for ages and I worked here as a kid. Whats not to love? Fresh beef ground daily as early as 6 am, the double large soft drink or their chocolate frosty. The best burger in the USA!
The Kewpee I remember in 1999 as I left for Germany is NOT the Kewpee of today. Its no longer hot and juicy when its handed over. The burger Patty itself is smaller than back then. Now, with that said....The food is fresh and clean, the pies as awesome as ever, the staff is friendly, and the prices are competitive with the area.And yes Ill keep stopping by hoping that Ill get a taste of days past.
What more can I say, this place is amazing. Been coming here since I was a kid, the burgers are some of the best Ive ever tasted, malts that put Wendys to shame, and really good fries. One of my favorite things though is their Lettuce. You might say, Lettuce? Yes Lettuce, it compliments the burger so well and highlights the fresh high quality ingredients they use.

Having people take the orders in the line made sense for faster service just know what you want before hand! Simple menu and good prices. Its worth the good drive North of Troy to go here. These big fast food chains could learn some customer service from these guys.
Ive loved Kewpee ever since my gram and I used to go in for a burger and a malt. Best burgers ever!! The toppings are incredibly fresh & the tomatoes they use are soooo good!! The pies are amazing. Definitely go to Kewpee when ya get a chance!!

As an outta towner, I very strongly recommend this place if youre in the immediate area (hear they have a location in Wisconsin... a literal couple more around here & thats it!).In fact, in general, if traveling & unsure where to eat out at, but not in the mood for cross-country chain restaurants, just use the review averages and if theyre almost 5 stars average on these reviews, then make that particular restaurant happen!
First time eating at Kewpee. I must say, if you want great burgers and fries at a price way cheaper than Five Guys Burgers and Fries, I would eat at Kewpee! People working at Kewpee were very friendly. Place was busy and not too messy. Wife and kids really enjoyed eating there. We will be back for sure!
Food was very good as always. I especially like the frosties, as they are always mega-cold! They stay frozen, unlike other frosties from another restaurant I wont name here. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that I dont like the booths and chairs around the tables. Theyre meant for smaller people (and Im not that big!) Definitely in the top three best burgers in Lima category!

Do you like fast food quality food with service thats far from fast, this place is for you! The burger didnt have much flavor. I got the double cheeseburger special. The fries were meh, not great but not horrible. I dont understand Limas obsession with this place. I used a stopwatch to see how the times were. It took 13 minutes in line until I got to take my order, and got my food at the 25 minute mark. Definitely not very fast. I wouldnt say its the best place in Lima like some claim, hell not even on the top 10.
I wish we lived closer and could come more often. For now I settle for a stop when were in town. The burgers are always juicy and fresh, fries hot and fresh, and the pies are amazing. The prices are very reasonable and good portion sizes!

My wife bought the coupon book like we do every year. Disappointed to day the least. They charge you for each item you want on your sandwich. Ok... I didnt have a problem with that till I got home and saw what I received. We live 3 minutes away. I got a piece of soggy lettuce, 2 slices of tomato but one was the heal with the core still in it. Plus it was so greasy that the bottom bunk was saturated. Not at all what I expected. Not worth the 45 minute wait.

The hamburgers delicious!!! The first definitely need salt they are pretty bland with out it. We were there s luck time it was very very busy and the service was surprisingly fast! But I do recommend that you try pie they look great!!
In the past, the only complaint I held with this location was the fact that the service was very slow. Good food at the cost of egregious amounts of time. However, I recently had an incident which I cannot forgive. I was in the drive through line when some some intoxicated man ran into my newly purchased vehicle from behind. He was slurring his speech and his eyes were very bloodshot....and he had his daughter in the car. We pulled off to the side and he fully admitted fault to the damage caused to my vehicle. He provided his insurance info and we parted ways. However, when I made the claim to my insurance, his company said he wasn’t at fault. My insurance company requested the security cam footage and the manager said they had the incident recorded but they were refraining from providing footage because they were under no legal requirement to do so.Be careful doing business at this location. They care nothing for the well being of their loyal customers.
First time at this Kewpee location in a few years. Same great taste as the rest. The sugar cream pie was delicious.Noticed how long the drive thru line was at dinner time. Obviously they are doing quite well on this end of town too!
Today I got a slice of there krunch lemon pie, it was delicious!! I might go back an buy a whole pie only $10.00 it is well worth the money. I normally just get a double with cheese light mayo,onions n lettuce. N a large lemonade slushy. But today the lemon pie was the best Ive ever had.
Kewpee downtowns morning staff is superb. Its like Cheers, they know your name and remember your order preferences. Good food, I have them degrease my burgers. This restaurant is a staple and must be sampled if passing thru Lima, Oh.
Just can’t give a place like this anything less. Real everything here. Beef is local and fresh, not to mention-REAL! No matter what you order you’ll be happy. 2x Large for a $1 is a steal. Pie, omg pie options. And it’s all made in front of you by employees who don’t look and act like they ate a box of crayons that day. Definitely hit this place up! The lines are worth it!
It would be five stars, but service has struggled over the past couple of years... especially in the evening when the kids are working. They have some shining stars and a few dim bulbs.But, Kewpee is the definition of Lima in their quality. Great burgers and much more reasonably priced than other fresh-to-order places (Five Guys).

Pickles and Onions is all you need. The the fact that it looks like you walked into 1972 is fantastic. We love it. There is only one place we look forward to more than here. Thats in another state. So with said, best in Ohio. Quality over quantity every time.
I was very impressed by this little burger place. They were VERY busy and were the entire time we were there - the drive thru was lined out onto the street and the inside had two long lines going at the two doors in and yet service was fast and accurate - they come get your order while you are in line and it moves well the entire time with no confusion. The hamburger was great! Much better than most fast food places. They have a lot of pies, including some unusual flavors like raisin and apple brown betty plus old faves like cherry and pecan.
This is the best place to eat hamburgers in the world. Theyre even better than five guys. Ive been eating at kewpees since I was a baby. Their food never changes its always the same always reliable.
Amazing local burger joint. Chili and frozen yogurt are incredible. The Allentown location however is usually pretty busy at just about any time of day so it can take a while.

I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere, the prices, the uniforms, the cleanliness, the food - all exceeded my expectations. I had a burger and a piece of Strawberry Rhubard pie. Both were excellent.
Service at Kewpee west is a problem - they rarely have more than one register open. They are already slow for fast food. It simply isn’t worth waiting 20 minutes or more to place an order.Stopped back 9 months later. No improvement. 6:30pm on a Tuesday. I went inside. Am #19 in a long line. Only one register open. Terrible business model - have to wonder why we are standing here. Food is not worth the wait.

Good burgers, fries, pie and shakes.But they still havent got in to the twenty first century of offering free refills. For the price they charge for a drink that has about 10 cents worth of soda or pop in it they could have free refills.

Local hamburger place I grew up with as a kid. I have to stop here every time I visit home. The hamburgers are great, so is the chili and frosted malts. Fries are hit and miss.They have green olives and jalapenos for the burgers, awesome!
The drive thru lane seemed incredibly long so we ended up going inside Kewpees. The line was not too long and we ordered quickly. Our food came ready and fast. I was impressed that everything was accurate and the workers were friendly. The establishment was clean and the food was decently priced. A little more than I wanted though. All in all A 5 star.
Consistancy is on point. You always know what to expect. The burgers are a little thin. They always hit the spot though. Customer service could be more friendly. It has always been that way though. Tables could be wiped down quicker but, it never feels unclean in there, so they must be doing something right. Food always tastes fresh.
Had my very first Kewpie burger today and it amazed me....it tasted so fresh....it wasnt greasy like most fast food burgers and it was made to order...l had tomatoes, pickles, banana peppers, and cheese on mine....it was delicious!!!! With an order of fries and a 32 ounce drink...it was a complete meal...l give Kewpies 10 stars!!!!

Lima is the only place that has this and I moved to Tennessee, the food is so amazing and the staff is so great that we make it a trip to come up here atleast once a year to visit and eat there!!! We always get the frosty of course and the hamburgers are actually real meat & not the fake stuff like youd get at all the other fast food places!!!
Depending on the time of day you go, service can be slow but the food is worth the wait. Definitely a classic place to enjoy.
I worked for Kewpee for 5-6 years. Especially at the West location, the meat is ground and pattied daily and on location. Its what Wendys hoped to be. I might say you can only appreciate the hometown, local diner-ish atmosphere if youre from Lima and have enjoyed the experience after something like a hometown football rivalry... But then Ive also recommended Kewpee to out-of-towners who know and appreciate that sentiment, and give high reviews. Perhaps Im biased, but the Allentown location has always been my go-to, and is somewhat at the heart of that.One downside as far as customer experience... Ive especially been bothered that bathrooms have no handicap access. Theyve lacked cosmetic attention since the 20 years ago that I worked there. It smelled kinda like pee in the bathroom last time I went in. Not an employee, but management/construction problem. This may have changed since my review, and if not, I hope it will. It can be an unfair reflection on the staff who daily have a dedicated dining room person to keep up what Id challenge is the most attended of other fast food chains.

Great service. Lines were out the door and we waited minimal time. Atmosphere was friendly. Restaurant was clean, and the workers were continually cleaning booths for incoming customers. Food was excellent. Orders were perfect and tasted wonderful.
Don’t understand why this place is busy. Burger was mediocre, frys were so old I couldn’t even eat them. Can’t understand why they were going to the back out of sight to prepare the food. Kinda gross and creepy. Guess it was more important to clean the grills really early to get the hell out of there to go play their video games then to give their customers fresh food. Never again
If you like old, stale, cold food then this is your place. They cook all the burgers before they open then serve all of them cold and dried up until they close. My burger was so far from being fresh and hot that it couldnt even melt the cheese. Even the buns are being left out and are dried up.
One of three locations in lima and very good food. I used to come here with my grandmother she loved the cherry pies. Kewpee is a must for anyone who knows lima or anyone passing through
It has been almost 10 years since I have eaten here, due to an out of state move, and the food was still GREAT! So tasty! Get a lot for your money, and the customer service was on point! Loved Kewpee when I was younger and still do!
Good food and service. They are very busy at lunch time. The traffic seemed to b mostly locals. We enjoyed our visit. You can expect the parking lot and drive through to be extremely busy and that makes driving around the restaurant a little hectic.
This Kewpee was CRAZY busy, however managed to get order correct,food great and had AWESOME Custom Service!
It was busy ... actually swamped...with all ages. The lady in front of me told me it was the best place in town and some of the history. It was good. Very short menu but if you like burgers go for it. Other than that they have fish, veggie and cold cheese sandwiches.
Went to Kewpee on Allentown Rd. we waited in line for 15 minutes...The dinner was full of people with lines that wrapped around to the trashcans.(I guess u have to be there to understand what Im talking about.) I ordered a double cheeseburger (katsup & Mayo),a frosty,& fries.Everything came as ordered and was delicious.This Kewpee location has always been my favorite and has been a big part of my life my entire life. Yummy 😋!
Its hit and miss.....last time I was there, it was around 830 pm and the customer in front of me noticed the kid working the grill was pulling old patties from a stack of precooked ones on the back of the flat top. The customer said hed like a fresh burger please, so the kid sighs and gets a fresh burger....then tries to flip the same old one over to my order!!! I said I wasnt Interested in the other customers rejected sandwich, and also would let FRESH!! The grill kid gave me a nasty look and mumbled something as he got another fresh burger!Im not sure why serving fresh food is so offensive to Kewpee, or its desire to serve leftovers at the end of the day...but Im over Kewpee! Thimble sized drinks, no refills, older employees with grumpy attitudes! Hopefully they can do better, because customers that arent blinded by local nostalgia, wont put up with this!
First time customer and definitely will be a returning customer when visiting Lima. Quick service, friendly staff, clean restaurant and restroom. My burger was hot, juicy and filling. Next trip I must try a milkshake.
Still good the same great burgers. If youre at the downtown location, make sure the fries are hot.

Awesome...I grew up eating this great comfort food. Cheese burgers, fries, chili, and frostys have been part of my go to meals since my grandma took me there as a child. Thanks grandma...you were so loved.
First off I asked for my fries well-done the lady says we cant do that theres a timer on the fry fryers. So I said, you cant just leave the fries in for just a bit longer she said no. Of course when I got my Fries and my sandwich they were both cold. I also Asked for water. The water didnt come out with my food . So I asked a second time for a water To the cashier, she was irritated and said cups are over at the water fountain. Went over to the water fountain no cups. so I told the lady there was no cups. They never got cups. I never got anything to drink! Fries were undercooked! Reminder everything was cold!

Their hamburgers are the best. It is the only place l know of that serves a sugar cream pie. Plus there coffee is excellent. Kewpee was the inspiration for Wendys.

Tasty food. Hamburger is ground fresh daily. Wish the patties were thicker. Order your soft drink without ice. (They use crushed ice so you only get about half of what you paid for)
I understand why people like this place.Real American fast food, better than Mcdonalds, and cheaper too.In reality, hamburger cant be good with those airy, ugly, anything-but-tasty, unhealthy buns, but ppl here dont know for better, and that is why they believe burgers here are good.So, average burger, great chilli and great pie.Great unsweetened tea too.And the price than cannot be beaten.So yes, Ill be back if roads gets me in Lima again.
Imagine, the desperation for a good Road Trip Burger. You have been on the road for what feels like days, youve played eye spy with my little eye more times that you would ever admit to in polite company. I dont eat burgers so much these days but when I do, I want to walk away with the meat sweats. I want to know that I lived through a fricken monument to burgers. So, you can envision my delight at finding all the stunning reviews for Kewpee. *Hands rubbed together* We drove undeterred by the furious ice storm we encountered in Lima, to the highest rated Kewpee we could find, for the ambiance and the great grub! I was ready to give a piece of my soul for this magical burger. To keep our spirits up on the treacherous journey, I would read out the reviews to my husband, who was encouraged by them but a bit leary about the naked baby dolls pinned to the wall. But we can do quirky, if the burger is right! The people inside were lovely human beings, that radiated happiness and love. 11/10 customer service, truly. Sadly, the burgers were ok. They were better than some fast food places but they were no Roys Squeeze Burgers circa 1990s, they were not special in anyway that I could tell other than they tasted like beef and not something else. The fries were for me no bueno, not sure what they fry them in but it didnt add to the flavor. My shake was pretty good but you have to be failing at life to ruin a shake. The food was ok, I would recommend them but I feel a bit let down by the sparkling reviews.
Food was good, but the kitchen seemed to have no sense of urgency or clear visible manager. Just seemed like teenagers working at snails pace..first time I noticed that, usually doesnt take long in the inside but today was a wait..

I live in Texas and was back in Ohio visiting my sister. I grew up in Wapakoneta and we went to the Kewpee on a regular basis. Last night we went to the original Lima location, and it was the same great hamburger and frosted malt as I remember. Byron was so helpful with our order.Please bring Kewpee to Austin.
Once again I was unable to eat my burger because of all the gristle in it. You really need to correct this problem. Its getting worse. Every 3 or 4 months I get hungry for the kind of burger I used to get, and I am once again disappointed. I remember coming to Kewpee as a band member in high school. It was the best burger in Lima. Now its full of gristle and disgusting. I hope you take this seriously and improve your product. Sorry, but I hate your burger.
Epic deals. We used the school coupons and pulled out of the drive thru with 8 cheesburgers and 4 large large drinks for 13 bucks! Enough for 4 of us :-) Also try the green olives on your burger next time since this is the only place around that has that option. Pretty tasty!

This eatery has been a classic eatery in Lima for my entire life. If you want good burgers, dressed anyway you want it. The Keeper is the place to go. Excellent chilli and pies.
Hamburger was good. Meat patty is small compared to the bun but has good flavor. Restaurant was very busy but we were waited on quickly. Friendly employees.

This is the quintessential fast food burger! The buns are baked fresh daily at the local Nickles Bakery. The fresh hamburgers are grilled on a flat top with as many condiments as you wish! The french fries are thick and so are the chocolate malts. Add a piece of pie or a side of chili and you have found hamburger heaven!

If youre from Lima, you know Kewpee. If not, its a local nostalgia burger joint. Dave Thomas, Founder of Wendys, worked there as a child and legend has it that he modeled Wendys off of it. They have hamburgers and cheeseburgers with french fries and chili, the menu is limited if youre not a burger person. They are good fast food burgers. Not living in Lima anymore it seems like their prices have went up quite a bit ($2.45 for a cheeseburger and $4.40 for a double.) Price is the only reason its not 5 stars.
The taste of home! It is my first stop every year when i come home for Christmas!Theres nothing like a kewpee cheeseburger, double large coke, and hot fries to dip in your chocolate malt! I worked there for 4 years and still love it!

This is a fave! The hamburgers are fresh and oh so delicious! The malts top the charts and the fries are fried to perfection. The quality of the food is very good, high above most of the individually owned, nationwide hamburger joints propped up everywhere. You dont see the cooks or cashiers get upset or stressed, act rude or whisper amongst each other and it doesnt matter how busy they are, theyre fast and theyre very, very efficient. They wear gloves and hair nets, something important to many. And the white uniforms are different than youd ever see in most food establishments but you can count on them looking clean and fresh. The drive thru usually always has a long line. By looking at the number of cars in line, you think long and hard about getting in. But if you do, dont worry. Its the fasted drive thru Ive visited anywhere. Your orders are always right, something rare these days. Both shops are old fashioned yet not in need of change...it has old colors, style, and design that could use a modern touch but thats whats one of the great things about Kewpee. The orange colored booths and chairs and old, tiled bathrooms are reminiscent of days gone by. Its much like an A&W in that way. The line counter, tables, chairs, bathrooms, and parking lot are always clean. A long table sits against the window where you can sit on a revolving stool and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the town outside those windows. Kewpee is a local favorite (and a favorite among the visitors who hear about Kewpee). Its a much talked about hamburger shop, priced very reasonably, and always, always worth the stop. Id give them 10 stars if I could.
Gave it 3 stars because im sick of coming in the morning around 10:30 and getting what appears to be old buns...or burnt?...not really sure which...all I know is when I get a bun that is dark, it is really flaky, and not as soft...ruins the experience I am so fond of. They are amazing when this doesnt happen and you get a soft, light in color bun, that isnt flaky! But when you get those dark in color, flaky buns, gross!
The Kewpee is one of the true iconic places of Lima Ohio! They do hamburgers, nothing more nothing less and they do this better than most places in the country. Do yourself a favor when passing nearby grab a cheesburger the way you want it, add a chocolate malt and a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie (many different homemade pies). I promise you will leave with a smile on your face!

2022-01-23👍🏼 Our first time at Kewpee and we loved it. When we saw the cars lined down the alley for the drive thru, we knew it had to be good! Love the simple menu! The hamburger was great as well as the fries! Chili and malt was just as amazing! The staff was very friendly and actually took pride in their work. We will be back next time in Lima.

2020-08-29This place is awesome and very old school. The employees were very patient and helpful and even though its always busy I did not have to wait long. The food is fantastic I havent had it in more than 20 years and it was definitely worth the stop to check it out. The hamburgers are some of the best Ive had and their malt shake was pretty amazing. This is definitely a place I would visit every time I come to Lima including the original location which I drove by on the way here.
