The nursing and support staff at Grandview, 5 West, were superb--very caring and attentive to my needs. Nurse Sue Smith was a standout among this group of professionals.Frequent visits by the medical residents were a plus, reflecting well on my surgeon and the residents other mentors.Who spends 17 days in a hospital in 2022? I did after receiving quick, effective care and transport from Ketterings emergency room in Piqua. Thanks to all!
Have had my grandpa sitting in the waiting room for over 3 hours, after he was asked to come back by his doctor after they got test results back from just this morning. He said he had a blood clot in his neck and needed to be admitted. This is a month after they discovered he had lung cancer. So here we are sitting in the examine room for another hour and a half. They are struggling to get a blood sample. This is all very frustrating, especially with the shape he’s in.Update: 2 hours later he is finally in his room and finally able to eat after 8 hours of sitting. However Melissa was super friendly, nice, and had him laughing after a very long day.
I cant say enough great things. Everybody was very nice and friendly the 2½ days I was there. Thanks to all of you. I dont know if you would remember me because I know you see a lot,but I will remember my short stay there. Thank you for getting me out to make the trip with my Granddaughters for the nationals in Toledo
DISCRIMINATION BASED ON AGE! . I can PROMISE you that this hospital will treat you differently if youre advance in age! . If my (grotesque) true story interest you, read on.My father was admitted to this hospital with an issue that led to him having his leg amputated there, which was already traumatic enough, as you can imagine.Within just a couple of days after amputation, the social workers there were harassing the family almost daily, demanding a plan of action for his upcoming discharge. Well, the most logical choice for his family would be a facility to accommodate rehabilitation right? WRONG!!! The social workers seen to it that his insurance would most certainly turn this down!! Which led to hours of phone calls to his insurance and the social workers. In the meantime (while still healing), my father developed an infection in this hospital and became moderately sick. His white blood cell count elevated, yet his vitals remained fantastic, even by a young persons standards. But something changed in his appetite. And he was obviously broken in his spirits. This hospital let him go DAYS without nutrition and hydration!! This hospital stood by on the sideline while (undeniably) watching my father reach this malnourished and dehydrated state. My father was losing weight at an alarming rate while the hospital just stood by and watched. My father (who is 61) lost weight to the point to where he weighed only 120+ pounds. During this time of malnutrition and dehydration, my father developed new problems associated with the negligence of this hospital. He became incoherent, which was confirmed by the kidney doctor in their own notes, which stated that it was due to a lack of free water intake. During this time, he started aspirating on his food due to his new level incoherence, which led to pneumonia. Which led to life threatening conditions. Today I received word from his incompetent (so called) doctor at that hospital. She (Dr Paul) informed me that my father is actively dying!! She (the so called doctor) assured me that he had only 24-48 hours to live, even though his main problem is pneumonia. He is WITHOUT A DOUBT being discriminated against because of his age!! This man served his country 1950s Korea veteran. Should be saluted. As of this writing hes still alive. But hospital assuring his death.
The triage nurse was so rude and disrespectful. She basically told me I shouldn’t come to the ER unless I had a “life threatening” emergency. I waited almost 4 hours just for a swab for strep throat. No one ever came and checked on me then they made me wait out in the lobby. It took them 45 mins to get my discharge papers. They don’t care about people here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to this hospital!!!!! And also there was a full bottle of someone else’s urine in the room I was in and they didn’t even come in to clean it until I was already in there for a while. With covid and everything else going on I think this is disgusting and they need a health inspector for the dirtiness!
Wrote on 5/11/22Currently on floor 5. Staff are nice, but they are slower than turtles! In pain because block didnt work. And my pains meds were due an hour ago. I asked for something to help with pain when first dose didnt work. Nurse just gave me time of next pain pill. Wish I could call my surgeon and ask for help. 😢 5/12/22. 2 hours after my request for pain pills I finally got them and yes i asked for them during those 2 hours.. Never did relief until after my 5 amish cried all night from the pain. Still in pain. Didnt help when assistant put my legs down before i was scooted down on chair edge. I started screaming. That time all staff seem to show up. Pain level was at a 10. Dont worry...pain meds are due in 2.5 hours. At this time not comfortable at all due to pain. Still have a least another hour before next dose. Hope I get it before therapy. Note: had total knee replacement. I am so confused. My daughter graduated in the top of her class at IU with her BSN. She did this in 3.5 years. She is currently residing in Oregon. She knows her stuff! She currently works in a same day surgery clinic where she helps with knee replacements and other surgeries. She was trying to help me with things that I felt like were going wrong. Like being released without having my pain under control and proper PT. Anyway when I was telling nurse what Janis was saying, nurse replied they have different rules in Ohio. My daughter laughed because she was quoting FDA guidelines. So either Ohio dont follow FDA guidelines or Kettering Hospital dont. For my safety I ended up leaving with uncontrolled pain.
Everything & Everyone was sooooo nice & the care I received was totally awesome. I COULDNT have been in better hands than I was at KH Facility/Hospital. I give them 10 stars UP. Kettering keep up the fantastic work you do. Thank You for caring and taking GOOD care of Me.
The staff and RNs here are super friendly and laid back, but also quick to jump in during a crisis. The doctors really care about the whole person! This hospital is an asset to the citizens of Dayton and the surrounding neighborhoods. It’s encouraging to see Kettering Health continue to invest in new services here and keep the outside of the hospital looking beautiful.
100% awesome! My RNs Mary, Teri, Martin, Kathy and my discharge nurse were exceptional. They were professional and went out of their way to make sure my care was top notch. The aides, housekeeping, lab and MRI technician were caring, kind and knowledgeable. The unit was bright and cheery. I recommend Grandview and ACU to everyone I know. KHN is the best in Dayton! I am a retired RN and worked on the unit many years ago. I was impressed then and I am even more impressed now. Dr. Ingrid Brown is amazing. Her bedside manner warm and caring. I will be seeing her on an outpatient basis. The food and the food service that delivered the trays were pleasant but I will say that the person taking my order seemed abrupt and came across as rushed and unpleasant.
There were a number of nurses, doctors, and others who were absolutely wonderful during my ER visit at Huber and my subsequent stay at Grandview, but two stood out. Kami in Huber and Stacey at Grandview were awesome. They made me laugh when I was totally stressed out and paid attention to what I was telling them.Otherwise, the food, the testing facilities and technicians and even patient transport was great. Don’t want to have to go back in the hospital but if I do, hope it’s Grandview.
My visit was a good experience under the circumstances of which I had to make the emergency visit. The trauma team, er nursing staff and the floor. Nurse made me as comfortable as possible. Thank you all there at the former Grandview medical center for the help and care.
Let my wife go downhill for a week and a half. Then convenient enough for them to call me and say your wife wont make it another 24 hours and when I arrive they use Covid as an excuse for bad care throughout. Had her family down just the night before all in her room with no gowns and n95s and they said she was stable. Come down to watch my wife pass and promptly hit with oh we extended Covid out twenty days because on being on a vent. She was on the vent the day before. This place disgusts me and in her families and mines opinions, they just let her die, and mark it up as Covid.
I was very disgusted by the filthy floor in this room. No room in any Hospital especially nowadays with covid vs dirty. I even told the nurses that the dirt was there and they thought it was just marks on the floor from where chairs have been. I told them about taking a wet paper towel to the floor and get him Blackness up but they didnt seem to care because nothing ever happened it get it clean. I pushed the call light and would get someone to tell me the tell my nurse and get someone right in there however Id never hardly heard back from anyone. I have always been an advocate for Grandview Hospital as I have always gotten great clean care here, however I was very unpleased with this visit and have found problems even with the documentation of my visit to this Hospital visit. I have tried to address this, but I cant find anyone who was willing to help me with it. I had to return to a an ER situation two weeks after this and I went to emergency room elsewhere. Not sure that Ill ever go back after this visit even after having my two children here and my dad years ago having two brain surgeries here which gave him more years to live. This was my worst by far hospital visit ever. I was on the 6th floor. Disgusting and filthy is all I can think of. Germs of all kinds Im sure.
Was very impressed overall with this hospital. I am from Michigan. And I really dislike Ohio as a state. Lol :-) however this hospital was amazing! Very well taken care of. The communication was great! The nurses and Dr were great! I was very impressed with this place! Thank you kindly. Adam Eldridge Lake Orion Mi!!! Ps GO BLUE!!!!!
I was hospitalized at Grandview for the first time Monday April the 4th for 3 days this the nursing staff was really good very friendly very thorough explained everything my roommate was very friendly the kitchen stuff was good housekeeping was great I even had PT ,OT overall the people there was very nice
My elderly father had some bad luck and ended up in this hospital, and unfortunately there were circumstances that kept him from having much in the way of visitors to check up on him on a regular basis, so was allowed to get severely malnourished. Then when the insurance company stopped paying, they said hes medically cleared to go home, even though he was basically a skeleton with pneumonia. We protested that it would be unsafe to do it, but really it was unsafe to leave him there too. Talk about caught between a rock and a hard place. Then they went from saying he was ok to leave to saying he was dying. I asked a nurse why they took him off the antibiotics, and she said they were giving up on him. I couldnt believe it, because despite his vitamin deficiencies and weight loss, his vitals were better than mine. Hospital staff should never say stuff like that in front of patients even as they sleep because its absorbed by their subconscious minds, but then thats their goal, right ?
I was not happy with the doctor I had he didn’t listen to what was bothering me as I’m still suffering from migraines he didn’t send me home with anything to combat that house keeping staff was terrible bathroom didn’t get cleaned only took trash but I would like to thank Dean Cazzie Ben Justin the 4 floor nurses that took care of me the Er nursing staff the dietary staff the chaplain and others whose titles I can’t remember I know one guy help me find a family care physician they took really good care of me
It was okay they got my medicine together Im now on blood thinner and I guess I have to be on the rest of my life in a way in a manner of speaking they saved my life if it wasnt for Grandview I probably wouldnt be here but theyre my first choice to go to the hospital with Kettering the nurses and the doctors are very good and I appreciate what they did for me thank you p
I was in a car accident and was taken to Grandview hospital. I was given morphine and other stuff. No one escorted me out or even told me which way out. I was told “we need this bed so you need to go to the lobby.” Given two night gowns to cover since my clothes were wet and the nurse left. Someone else came to see how much longer I’d be in there but no one offered to help me to the waiting area while I found a ride home to Springfield. I will be sure to cross them off the list.
The nurses, doctors and all of the staff are great! There were very attentive to my Mothers needs when we arrived and included me in all of their findings and decisions. She is still here currently and our outcome is not good but I would come back! Sarah and Stacy are the best!Update: My mom has passed and the care and compassion, from her nurse Annette was great! The hugs were a plus! Thank you!
I have NEVER had this kind of treatment anywhere!! They were spectacular, from.the time I was wheeled into the hospital until the day/night I was discharged. The professionalism, the caring, the empathy that everyone showed me was unreal and I will never forget it. My husband is still there and he is in such good hands that I dont mind leaving his side overnight. Thank you Grandview Medical Center for making our stay so nice and stress free, you guys truly are Top Notch!! Thank you
The nurses were great, very attentive. Never had had to wait too long after hitting call button.I really liked my doctors. My biggest complaint, I was in there with uncontrollable diarrhea . About 3:00 Wednesday I noticed we were low on toilet paper. Requests were continuously made. At midnight, we ran out, the nurses aide found a partial roll somewhere. At 1:00 am, maintenance finally came, but didn’t want to leave any since i now had a roll. The nurses made him. That’s just ridiculous I couldn’t get paper when I had diarrhea .
Grand view hospital in Dayton,OH employs the most kind and professional staff along with very skilled and knowledgeable surgeons i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I underwent a very serious surgery there and was in the icu for a week. My surgeon Dr. Neravetla is the kindest, smartest and gentlest person i have ever met. He is a very compassionate person and is considered the Yoda of cardiac surgery in the tri state area. His staff is exceptional in every facet of thier chosen profession. The care that i received not only physical but emotional was by far above and beyond. Beth, Dr. Neravetlas assistant made me feel welcome and assured me that i was in the best hands possible. She is very thorough and always on top of everything with a wonderful personality and wit to boot. When your at your most vulnerable the nursing staff is always there to reassure you that you Will make it through and you Will recover. I am and will forever be grateful for the care i received there. Nurse Mandalin in the icu became not only my caregiver but an incredible source of hope with her warming personality and confidence.Thank you again for giving me a better quality of life and introducing me to the Heroes of everyday life that often go unnoticed and unappreciated.I am forever grateful.
My nurses were great!! However I was astonished at the care by the doctors. I was only happy with one of my doctors. My GI guy was fabulous. It stops there though. I arrived via Transport at 6am and never received meds or orders from the doctor till after 10:30am. I felt completely abandoned. I am fully independent and have very frequent hospital stays due to my condition (and have stayed here before with the same situation totally different rules this time though). I was not allowed to shower as I normally am and due to understaffing I wouldn’t receive a response for sometimes up to an hour after pushing my call light. I was not happy at all with this stay.
They are an amazing hospital! My Dr. saved me and got me on the track to getting well again.Professional and top care.Nurses are their secret weapons. Every nurse I had was great! My intake nurse was so thorough it truly was remarkable. Great nurses.Kitchen was best hospital kitchen I have ever experienced. They have nailed it in that department for sure! Food was great flavors. Always on time. Always hot and tasty. Always professional.Grandview Rocks!!!!Thank you for helping me.
I have had over 45 outpatient/inpatient operations in my life. I had been to every hospital except Grandview until now. I was transferred to Grandview from Soin. Although it is one of the oldest hospitals in Dayton, I was very impressed with the facility. Even more important, 98% of the nurses, aides, technicians, and physicians were awesome. The only time I got upset was when they were discharging me. The floor manager told me they would be done processing my paperwork by 6:30/7:00. I asked my sister to pick me up at 7:30. Unfortunately, I got no help getting my things together, getting dressed, etc…. At 5:00, I rang the buzzard and told then nurses when my sister would be there. They said they were working on it. I never saw a nurse until 7:45. My sister had already been waiting for 25 minutes. At 8:20 or so, an aid came and got me. By this time I was in tears - my sister had plans. I was taken to the nurses station where they were still working on discharge papers. They had not taken out my IV pic ir given me my medications. I did not not leave until almost 9:00 pm when I was told at 5:00 pm I would be leaving bo later than 7:15. I was in the hospital for nearly a week. I had seen people discharged with help the nurses and aids - no problems. I know they are short staffed, but I was angry, did not feel good, apprehensive, and felt like no one cared. However, if this was the only situation, I feel blessed.
For being admitted to a hospital, the process was easy. The nursing staff was outstanding. I wish the doctors were around more but I understand they are busy with lots of patients. I was going a little stir crazy but I guess that’s normal in a hospital. While I hope not to repeat the visit, I would recommend Grandview.
The care I recieved at Grandview was superb. I have no complaints from house keeping to the top it was the best! I have been in the medical field my entire life from 18 yo and now 60, so yes 42 years and just now found perfect care from a group of professionals. The only thing better would have been to be a part of it and not a patient. Thank you Grandview Staff.
Every Doctor, Practicing Nurse, Nurse, Nurse Tech, even Janitor were highly professional, gave me the answers I needed, and saved my butt. They were all some of the nicest people to be around, whenever I needed them, they were there. Thank you all at Grandview, for the best care I could even wish for!
I had great care while I was there. Except one night nurse. I was never checked on or checked to make sure I had all pain meds (even the ones that was as needed) when I realized I had missed it (because Im in severe pain) it took a hour for the meds to be given, which means another hour of extreme pain, for them to kick in. The night nurse called Dr. And got something intervenoue to start on pain. I will say the night aide TINA (hope that was her name) was amazing and very concerned. But overall everyone else, Nurses, Ashley, Sue, Erin were the best nurses ever. The whole experience was great. From beginning to discharge. All the kitchen staff and cleaning staff were so nice and always ask if they could do anything else for you. The nurses aides were all fantastic and friendly, smiling and helpful, caring.
I had the best nurses and most understanding Dr. I was there for 6 days and they never once made me feel bad for having not been vaxinated. To be fair I went in Tues and had arrangements for the vax that coming Fri. But you still find yourself feeling bad for the over worked staff. Ty all who took care of me.
The hospital it self was very clean, but it was the staff that impressed me. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, even though I was going through proverbial hell, (no pain recovering alcoholic) they, even though I knew they were all busy, always found time to help when I need it, all the walk through staff, phlebotomists, PT’s, OT’s all greeted me with a smile and ensured I was comfortable and was not wanton for anything. Over all a great experience!
Considering that I am out of state. I passed out on the plane. My visit was great. While I dont want anyone to have to go to the hospital I would recommend Grandview Medical Center highly. The nursing staff was great. They were so attentive and professional. The doctors were great.
Everyone treated me really good and did their best. To meet my needs SAndy was taking care of me in. The day shift and took care of my discharge and explained that if I needed to get in touch with her she would be available until end of her shift all staff did a really good job the medical staff are really a shining light in todays world
Dirty! I unfortunately spent a week in the SICU family waiting room lately. This room was rarely cleaned. Same trash spilling out of the trash can for days. Dirty mask laying on the floor. Same crumbs on tabletop. Used tissue on the chair. Floor dirty. I was disgusted to sit in here. In light of Grandview Hospital being Code Black and only letting 1 visitor due to health concerns, this was utterly appalling. These rooms should be disinfected and cleaned at least a few times a day, if not more!
I absolutely loved all of the nursing staff that I encountered, from pre-op to post-op and then while I was on the 6th floor in my room. Everyone was so amazing!! I can only hope that you all get a little more help (staffed) it was easy to tell that you were understaffed. Thank you again for the amazing experience!
Care was good. I really have no complaints about care at all. I was very upset re surgery.. I totally understand why surgery was delayed due to my blood sugars but I feel things should have been handled more efficiently and quicker. I was under the impression I was having surgery on Thurs 6/17. It was delayed due to high blood sugars. Why did it take so long to get blood sugar under control? I finally was scheduled for surgery 2 days later.. First it was scheduled for 11, then 1, then 5 finally 7. Then low and behold it was canceled due to tornado warnings.. Then my discharge felt like it was all thrown together at the last minute.. I had PT/OT at the last minute . I feel like PT/OT did their best but I feel there was alot thrown at me and I was going to need more practice then they had time for. .STAFF NEVER MADE ME FEEL LIKE THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME FOR ME.. I felt like there was no consideration of time for the frustration factor..There is definately room for improvement. I feel like I fell through the cracks..
During my stay at Grandview I received the best care I have ever received in a hospital. Housekeeping, doctors, nurses and all the healthcare providers and specialist I met were outstanding and understanding to my health needs. After I got home I actually received a card with well wishes from each of my nurses. Outstanding job Grandview. Thank You.
My husband suffered an appendicitis and was treated at Grand View. The staff when we came in were absolutely amazing! They made us feel super comfortable, he was nervous and they made him feel cared for and I felt like we were in good hands. The anesthesiologist and surgeon were absolutely incredible. They were professional and did an amazing job. The woman in the surgery center while I waited for him to come out of surgery was kind and considerate and I really appreciate her. However once we were transported back to his room he was in recovery for sometime in his room. He was out of it due to medication and was confused. He really has never gone through a situation like this and was trying to figure out what his after treatment plan was. He needed letters for work and he needed his medications sent to the right pharmacy as they were initially sent to the wrong pharmacy and transferred to a different pharmacy that did not accept his insurance. The nurse on floor 5 was nice and said take your time and so we rested while we were waiting for the medications to be taken care of and the letter for his employer to be corrected. The charge nurse on floor 5 came in and began to rush us out and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I felt like we were a burden and it was very unprofessional. I am a medical transporter in and out of hospitals all day and I have never ever been talked to by a nurse like this in my life. She brought in a wheelchair and said, “You need to get you clothes on and get out.” I felt like we were being kicked out of our room when we were having many issues with after care treatment plan. I had to explain to her that his medication being a narcotic will not allow us to pick up until a week later because they attempted to transfer his meds to another pharmacy, the nurse told us to call the pharmacy and have them transfer it which I cannot due as it’s a narcotic. She was very rude and unhelpful. Not only that his incision had somewhat pulled apart and his gown and dressing were soaked through with blood. I was very impressed with the hospital and their professionalism and hospitality until we were being ordered to leave our room.
The staff was wonderful. The food was great. The Doctors and nurses where about perfect. The staff brought me back from the white light. I had Covid-19, Covid-pneumonia and had just had bladder surgery. I had not eaten in 8 days and had lost 30 pounds in 1 week. I could not be here. Now I’m fine. Thanks to Grandview Hospital. I’m going to buy the staff lunch for the whole floor sometime this week. Love you all. Thanks for saving me.
I could not have asked for better care from my surgeon, anesthesia team, to my amazing nursing team - Kofi, Theresa, Roxanne, Angela and Christine. I didnt feel like I was just a patient, but that my care was their priority. I know my great recovery is a reflection of the great care given to me. Blessings to you all!
Excellent.. everyone was excellent. From night shift James Nurses Aid to Mirem Nurse. Lisa from housekeeping, to the day time nurse who took care of me. I would give everyone that took care of me 5 stars... I have never had such exceptional service.. I would return to Grandview and recommend people go there.. Even the Nurses that got me ready for surgery were exceptional. In all named were wonderful team players..I am just sorry I dont remember the names of all. Just look at my chart and see who took care of me, because all of them deserve a big thank you from Management. I am also a KPN employee. I was so empressed by the people you have working here.I just wanted to say I appreciate each and every one of you thank you.Melodie Day
In the emergency room Penny was fantastic she really took care of me she deserves many kudos and on the fourth floor thank you to Matt for checking on me. I feel better thanks to the doctors and nurses that took care of me while I was in the hospital. Thank you very much and may God bless each and every one of you.
From beginning to end, I was treated with care, respect and kindness. I always felt that I was in good hands of skilled health professionals. I hope not to have to return as a patient but know that Grandview is there for me if needed. Thank you to all who provided me with care.
My entire experience at Grandview Medical Center was wonderful. My nurse John was so attentive to me, he checked on me at least hourly and was there whenever I needed attention. Everyone there treated me like I was the only patient in the hospital, courteous professional and very friendly. I would highly recommend this Hospital to anyone having joint surgery . The private room was the icing on the cake. It made the time there for myself and my husband so much more comfortable because we had our privacy
My experience was excellent!! I was treated with kindness and compassion. Every procedure was explained to me in great detail. It is very difficult to go to an emergency room and wondering what is going wrong. The staff at Grandview ER alleviated my concerns. And for that I am truly grateful.
I could only rate this hospital a four star because of the administrative efficiency or lack there of. Doctors and administrative personnel seemed to not work out of the same rule book and one knew nothing about what the other was doing.Otherwise, the nursing and patient care team were awesome. In every case the Nurses and aids were professional, polite, caring, and very attentive. I was on the fourth floor and team Brittany/Leslie; and team Sarah/Shelby/Jasmine were exemplary representatives for this facility. The hospital is modern, clean, comfortable, and well staffed. Since 98% of contact is with floor personnel, I highly recommend Grandview Medical Center.
My dad was in the ICU at Grandview for 7 days. All of his nurses were great and kept me informed the entire time since visitors aren’t currently allowed. When he went to his step down unit, he had an exceptional nurse named Allison (room 5104) who was fantastic. He raved to me about her and how well she treated him. I know how busy the nursing staff is but Allison was the first nurse to ever call me back when I left a message for them to call me. She had him a few days in a row and called me back every day. She even called me after her last shift to let me know how he was doing. It meant a lot to me especially with not being able to be there. We had a fantastic experience.
The nurses provided excellent care. I did question why they routinely give Melatonin even without being on the patients medication list. I would also suggest more training on performing IVs. I didnt think I was a difficult stick but Ive found it depends on whos doing the sticking.
Check in was very easy and fast. The nursing at prep were very friendly and professional and helpful. The surgery staff and anesthesiologist staff were very professional. Doctor Yannetta was my doctor and he is Awesome. He has preformed procedures on me before and he always explains what is going on, what he is going to do and does exactly what he says. All I can say is if you have vascular problems this is the man to see. The Cath holding nurse I had was Lynda Crombie RN. she is great. She is very very professional Explained everything that was going on and when she would be back to check on me. She was made aware of problems I had after prior surgeries and handle them great. I never had any issues after this surgery which I was worried about. If you are in Cath holding this is the RN you want. Thanks you to all that had to put up with me that day. I would recommend them to anyone.
Very attentive, respectful and caring staff from Huber Heights ER to Grandview Medical Center. I would highly recommend to family and friends. They were understaffed having 300 patients which I overhead from the information desk but the staff really went above and beyond to care for my needs. Food was surprisingly good and came on time. Nurses and Doctors did their rounds introduced themselves and kept me informed all the way until I was discharged. Thank you for making my stay as comfortable and pleasant for me. And no, I was not paid to give good feedback nor did I have any relatives working there, it was all based from a wonderful experience.
Great care and service from all service lines. I am not only a patient but also former staff member and would make Grandview my first choice with my care every time.Only concern was i was on a new unit and shower had cold water and sink had better hot water than shower. Maintenance did attempt to fix then discovered plumbing was originally installed incorrectly. This is an important component of care for health an wellness to be able to clean and refreshed especially during hospitalization.
I wish I didnt have to change my comments about the KHN facilities but Im forced to do so. After years of visiting the Grandview hospital and its branches I felt a lot of unwanted pressure from the victor cassano clinical nurse, I asked to have an order for a procedure done faxed to a hospital of my liking and was asked very nastilyWHY DONT YOU WANT TO HAVE IT DONE AT OUR FACILITY And like I told her because I prefer to have it done elsewhere, which forced me to have to change clinics and Dr......So disappointed ☹️
I have been exposed to several different medical facilities through a nurse in the family, a care giver to my brother in an assisted living facility, and a member of our Churchs Pastoral Care Ministry who visits those in the hospitals. Not to mention multiple friends in the nursing field. I have been told that there is a shortage of nurses as well as aides which creates a stressful and negative environment. My experience of being admitted to the hospital was nothing but positive. I did not feel like the nurses were being rushed because they had more patients than they could handle. If they were over loaded I could not tell. They all were attentive and so kind. Keep up the great personal attentiveness to your patients Grandview nurses! God bless you all!!
Great care as always. I was born there. Only Hospital I will go to. And the team in ICU. Thank you. P.S. Had a rough night after surgery. Victor checked on me regularly. That young man went above and beyond his call of duty. He made the night a lot better for me. Thank you. Larry Anthony King Sr. AKA Deputydog 🐕🦺.
Had no wait time to get into a room. The doctor and staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about my condition. I really appreciate the way they explained in detail to me about every test and everything they were doing every step of the way. I’ve been to ERs where the staff treated you like a nuisance and this was definitely not an issue here. If I ever have another medical emergency, i hope I’m able to go to this hospital. 5/5
I had a ablation done and pacemaker implanted by Dr. Krebs and his wonderful team of professional health care colleagues on August 25, 2020 at Grandview Medical Center. From the moment that I was received at the registers office to my final discharge date on August 26, I was impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of everyone, from attending physicians and nurses, to even the administrative and hospital cleaning personnel. I do not remember all of the wonderful people that I encountered, but a few I remembered are Dr. Grebs, an amazing cardiologist to Sarah and Liuper (sorry if I misspelled name) the patient / loving nurses who took care of me after the procedures were done.
I cannot say anything negative about my care while I was at Grandview Medical center. All of the nursing staff were the epitome of professionalism and did their best to ensure all my medical and personal needs were met. The nurse aides were attentive and helpful. My transportation aides to and from radiology were cheerful and very nice. Housekeeping and food service were friendly and helpful. While I would have preferred to not have needed GMC services, I definitely give my care and service 5 stars. Thank you for taking such good care of me.
Every single person at Grandview took excellent care of me. I felt safe, understood and truly cared for. Every single person who entered my room was pleasant and listened to me and any of my concerns. I pray everyone can receive such excellent care any where they go. Kettering medical center and Grandview have my trust. Itrust in my father in heaven and ithank him first for putting me in the caring hands of the staff at Grandview and Kettering health network.
Everyone were very caring and compassionate. Polite and friendly. Helpful in every area. Customer friendly on point. Thank to all of the staffs at Grandview Medical (Registry personal, nurses, financial aid , CT scan technician, Doctors) Youll Rock 100%. I Just like to say God bless you ll and your families. Thanks.💐🌷🌹🌻
I had a great experience here. All of my nurses were very kind and never rushed. They took the time to listen to me and kept me updated on everything. The doctors were also very caring. The nursing assistants were great and caring. I was kept informed of everything no matter the time of day or night.
This was my first time going to Grandview Hospital and it was an excellent experience! The Staff were all so welcoming and happy, helpful, very skilled and knowledgeable. They attended to my every need without hesitation and kept me informed on what was going on the whole time. Dr Jackson was GREAT! My surgery was a success without any issues and I am thankful for that.I would definitely come back in the future. Thank you Tina
Everyone at Grandview made us feel like family. They treated us with great care and warm hearted attention.. I can’t say enough how comfortable they made us feel as they took care of me and my wife. They were attentive to our needs and let us know how much they truly cared for our wellbeing.Thank you all for a delightful experience at a time when we needed it most!
I wouldnt give it a 1 star to be honest my mom is their right now fighting for her life with covid and pneumonia and she is on a ventilator. Then when you call for an update you have nurses tell you that things are looking better her vent is on a low setting their taking her sadation down slowly and was taking about maybe putting her on a C-pap come to find out it was all a lie and gave us false hope ... Her ventilator is on max at 100% never left from 100% she is still medically comatose her lungs are not getting any better... I would not recommend this hospital to anyone ever when this is all said and done im going to contact the director of nursing and a lawer
Grandview has the greatest female and male nurses. I was the ICU FOR 5 days and man when i say they go above and beyond for you is an understatement. I had 6 back surgeries in GW & their staff never disappoints. Keep up the great work and God bless you workers. Thank you for always making me feel comfortable at my worst. Love your staff. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was told by friends that they didnt recommend going to Grandview. However, I am very glad I did! My experience was very pleasant and staff was exceptionally friendly, helpfully, and professional! In my opinion they are BETTER than Miami Valley Hospital. I would highly recommend Grandview to anybody who needs to go to the ER. My stay was a total of 2 1/2 days and was better than any visit to MVH!
Ok so what can I say that is profound enough so as to express the great appreciation I have for every staff member doctors and nurses that graced my presence. Not a question.Of course I was afraid and alone in persona only. They have consistently saved my life 3 times in 3 years. Not once did I feel as if I would be a lost cause. To manage ones own physical duties and be attentive and comforting and professional through all the atmospheric emotions and concepts that turn to precepts and in the mean time, I was allowed to heal the way I heal. Its a scary thing to feel like you bout to die. Twice as scary if it takes to long. Im not sure what dr.s and nurses think about dying, but I know I trust my experience Ive had at Grandview. Love you guys.If it happens again next year I hope its you all I have to my avail.
My eighteen hours spent at your hospital were satisfactory in performing all tests needed to help us discover what is causing my infirmary. All staff were professional and knowledgeable as well as sharing what information they were able. Thank you for opening a room for me during this highly active time. Jennie Eisnaugle
I had a back surgery at Grandview on Monday 3/29/21-3/30/21. The staff from the door of entry, to the surgery, recovery, to the exit! Everyone was so nice, caring, and professional! Matthew, Jerry, Lindsay, Mack, Tina, Nancy, John, housekeeping, X-ray, surgeons, doctors, nurses, the kitchen.. the names are too many. Anybody that helped room 15 floor 5 deserves to be recognized! Thank you everybody!
The ER nurses, Marissa and Jenna were fabulous! I could not have gotten better care from my own family! The floor nurses were also wonderful! Cassandra, Lunya & Katie. Even the housekeeping and blood drawers were all great! Everyone treated me wonderful except a few Drs. They kept telling me different stories! One said I had no significant internal bleed, another said I had a significant bleed! One said he wanted me on one type of antibiotic and another Dr. wanted me on another type!!! Get your stories straight you Dr. I don’t care about who is more in charge, I only care about getting better!
The entire staff of Grandview and Southview hospitals with whom I came in contact with for treatment during my recent stay were outstanding! Dedicated, professional and extremely caring. I would recommend both the hospitals and the staff to anyone seeking quality quality health care.
I had an appendectomy here about 2 weeks ago. All of the staff was amazing and very caring. I had to stay about a week and even nurses not on my rotation that day would stop in to say hello. The room was very nice. I had it to myself which is something have rarely seen in hospitals. Definitely great for privacy. If I have to have other procedures done in the future I would definitely go through Grandview and the Kettering Health Network again.
All of the staff were very kind, very helpful, and very informative when I had questions . The room was clean and the nurses were on point. A special thanks to Kofi and Grace, two of my nurses that were just outstanding. Pre-op testing was done by wonderful people, a special thanks to Jessica for taking my blood and I didn’t even feel the needle go in. Nursing assistant Jackie was nice, helpful, and took a moment to chat when I needed someone to talk to. I really am very pleased with the services and the staff at this facility, thank you all!!!
The staff was very polite - all stall from Doctors on down. Their medical treatment of our mother was excellent. They made sure she was fully treated for the medical reasons she was admitted for. Thanks Grandview and please for the sake our community health and well-being keep up the excellent work..
After I Was Attack On July 29th 2021 I Went To The ER. And The Staff There are AMAZING They Took Good Care Of Me Every Step Of The Way While ai Was In The ICU .Then I Get Out Of The Hospital And Week Later I Was In A Automobile Accident Yet Again Good Care And Treatment Through Out My Time There. The Whole Staff Are Angles.....I APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF You.....THANK YOU🙏🙌🙏
Was very ill and scared when I walked into the Grandview ER last night. I thought I’d be in the waiting room alone for hours since it was a weekend but they immediately took me back to a room. Every nurse, nurse practitioner, x ray tech, doctor, & even the maid was EXCELLENT to me! They ran extensive tests and explained everything thoroughly. There was no rush, everyone of them took great time and care with me. My nurse was especially kind. I was born at this hospital and it’s the only place my family and I go.
Dr. Maria Delbono, MDShe prescribed me a black box drug (Seroquil) on the first appointment instead of prescribing a refill of Ambien as requested. My previous prescription for Ambien lasted 8 years because I only used it a few times per year. She said that there were no side effects and I needed to take 2 a day. In 2 days of taking Seroquil my head was pounding and it felt like I was drowning 24/7. Even though I stopped taking it the serious side effects lasted for 2 weeks. I almost died.
Amazing amazing amazing people!!! Absolutely involved in EVERY patients well being! I cannot say enough good things about the level of care I received from Connie, Rebecca, Michelle, David, Kim and EVERYONE!! I am doing better due to the sincere care I received and I am blessed to have had their support and guidance. Thank you all for the great job you all performed.
Worse treatment by some staff especially on 2 nd floor. I had. A nurse fake giving me a pain shot in front of a doctor. Treated inhumanly by wound staff shift supervisor.many violations too many to count. NEVER GO HERE. MY BEST ADVICE TO HUMAN KIND. Made complaints to hospital and Kettering network with no success. Legal action to expensive at the time. Everyone makes mistakes we are all just human beings. But this place criminal is the best word for my 5 separate experiences.i will gladly share all the details with anyone interested in taking this hospital to court.
Never again will I go back! The staff and the doctor was alright. But soon as I got put in a room trash was everywhere as if the staff never cleaned after the last patient. The bathroom was dirty as well. At a time like this (covid-19) it’s no excuses why rooms are dirty. Trash everywhere, trash on the window , trash can full. That is just unacceptable
I just got discharged for having a heart cath and a stent placed in my heart. The staff was amazing and my nurses ALL made me very comfortable and informed about everything ! Thank you so much to you all. If I had a private room that would have been the only thing missing. But the place was packed and my room mate was pretty cool so I have no complaints at all. Thank you so much Grandview for the amazing treatment and support. Everyone was very professional and if I ever need hospitalized again, thats where Im going .
The Nurses were great...Kofi.... Scott...and Carolyn....and Brianna...they all did a lot and are willing to go out of their way to take care of their patients! The Nurse aids need to do more there job is to help the Nurse ... what I saw is some of them need to step up their game and do their job... They are helpers of the Nurse not the other way around! That needs work! The floors in the rooms could be cleaner and the beds could be more comfortable. Overall a very nice experience @ Grandview Hospital!
I was born at Grandview Hospital in 1981. My mom worked there for Dr. Kevin Reid in the 70’s-90’s. My mom went home from work one night during a blizzard only to return hours later and have me the following morning. Dr. Blumhof delivered me at 8:17 am. This was the old eerie part of the hospital. Over 2 decades later, I delivered Newspapers there on every floor of the hospital in the Newspaper boxes. I know years ago it was a great hospital. It’s been 2 decades since I’ve been there. I came here because now they changed the name to KHN Dayton. Such a travesty! Lol
I believe in the holistic concept of Osteopathic Medicine. Grandview Hospital, an Onow a part of the Kettering Health Network, is actually as good as it gets. I have been going to Grandview Hospital since 1962 when I had my first surgery, an appendectomy. And since then, 11 more surgeries (mostly sports injuries) and 6 procedures.Granview Hospital has always been well known for its Internal Medicine and Orthopedics and rightly so. And now, theyre gaining notoriety in its new Trauma Unit.I wouldnt go anywhere else for anything.
Awesome staff. Hernia surgery. Told me what was going to happen from start to finish. Left me with no questions to ask. Made first surgery ever very mello even tho my blood pressure was sky high from being nervous as hell... Was back on track after it was over. Thanks Grandview staff💜😘💙
The surgery process with Dr Jackson and crew was efficient and flawless. The facility was clean and the staff were great. The private patient suite was clean and comfortable and the nursing staff were Awesome! All this made for a pleasant experience during a difficult time.
I was in the Cardiology unit for 2.5 days. The care was excellent . Everybody had great bedside manors. Very friendly and personable. Care was prompt and thorough. The Drs were very informative and were genuinely concerned about resolving my heart problem. I feel like I was in good hands.
This was my first time having surgery at Grandview. It was great. The nursing staff were amazing. So kind and helpful. They checked on me frequently and really made me feel like I was their only care in the world for 2 days. I wish I could remember their names. Thanks!
Connie, thank-you for your support. Over the past few years Christine has had numerous, surgeries, procedures both minor and significant. Even though we are on Medicare and Anthem Blue Cross insurance and can go to any Healthcare facilities. We continue to come to Our Kettering Health Network for our medical services, more specifically Our Southview & Grandview Hospitals. Christine broke her femur about 6 months ago, she continues with her OT exercises but the pain in her right groin, knee, and shin had gotten more severe. We had Dr. Jneidi check her out. She ordered blood work and Xrays, we requested they do it at Southview, we drove over after her appointment on Tuesday the 16th, Dr. Jneidi review the results and found that Christine was anemic and needed more magnesium and iron. The Xray came out great showing not problem. Dr. Jneidi said that Christine may have an internal bleed, so she requested a CT with Contrast to be done stat. On Wednesday the 17th we came back to Southview in the evening for her CT. Not that we do not always get great service from Southview, but this evening was really special for Christine. We greeted Andrea receptionist/registrar for the second night in a row telling Amndrea we needed a CT for Christine that Dr. Jnedi ordered stat. She was again so helpful the evening before the lab was just about to close, Andrea rushed to get Christine to the lab for her needed blood work, and then on to her Xray. But this evening she practiced what is another outstanding support that we would have only gotten at Southview, when after registering she took Christines hands and had very personal and caring prayer for her, came around the desk and gave her a hug. (she was wearing her mask, and no one was wating at that time for service) This not only touched Christines heart but mine as well. Later the same evening have Dr. Jneidi got the results they said to bring her stat to the ER, so back to Our Southview, she was admitted, is on blood thinner, the Drs. and Christine and I have agreed to have her transported to the Cath-Lab Grandview the have filter inserted in her vein. She and I again can not say enough about all the staffed in the Cath lab, Dr. Yannetta, Dr. Crawford, 5 North Unit Jamie RN, Lancha nursing assistant, Kristien RN Sarah RN Brittany Nursing Assistant all the other Nursing support staff, food service. and EVS ( for clean and sanitized room) staff for the outstanding care she has been given and will be given. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. We would like for all the staff that had a part in providing excellent care for Christine, including Administration, facilities ( for the beautiful remodeled patient room.) to get positive and outstanding recognition.Your family in Christ,Jerry & Christine Renfrow
My experience with Grandview has been amazing. The nurses were fantastic along with all of the Doctors and Technicians I encountered in the Hospital. The nurses took especially good care of me some of them are Lindsey, Brittany, Jayde in the Medical ward and all of the nurses in MICU. for someone who was pretty sick when I came into the ER I left a little worn out but so much better and stable.
I would not recommend anyone to this hospital. I went to there er in horrible pain, at the time of visit it didn’t appear there was a lot of patients being seen, however I was put in a very cold room that was used for mental patients or prisoners, and I was left in the room for 3hrs long hours. From my room I could hear doctors and others medical staff having a delightful conversation at the nursing desk, I was ignored. So I limped to the desk and ask all sitting and relaxing staff when will I be seen by a doctor and a nurse stated someone will be in a few in harsh tone.I limped back to the room and waited 2 additional hrs in the below zero room, finally I reached my breaking point I couldn’t take it anymore,so I left and went to a er hospital who takes patient care seriously. I have friends and family who also have horror stories from this hospital. Professional and compassion lacks from staff. I have this incident recorded. There is no embellishments or fabricated story. I didn’t even get a blood pressure or temp check in the hours I was there. And if there excuse is more severe cases take priority I understand, however if that’s the case staff members should of been away from the desk and tending to these severe cases if this was true instead of sitting at the desk not charting or reading charts, but relaxing.I heard so many personal stories and workplaces gossip from the cell room I was in. The head of this company should go undercover just so they can see how things are really going here. From what I experienced this hospital should be shutdown! I’m giving my personal experience.
Nurses aren’t allowed to make decisions. Must call the doctor for everything. Reasons my nurse had to call the doc: can she take a shower (2 hours), can she have cough syrup (3 hours), what can I give her to calm her down (16 hours)I was in a full on panic attack (which I’ve never had before btw) triggered by the medication they were giving me for 16 HOURS. Yes, 16 hours... and they let me go though that with no treatment until my family and I begged for them to give me something after requesting several times. The nurses are nice but the doctors leave something to be desired.
Tests were run quickly, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Once tests were all done that’s when things slowed to a complete halt. We waited over two hours for a doctor for all the final information. It would be nice to not wait so long for results so we could leave. It would free the room for the next patient.
I had been stung, on the hand, by a yellow jacket bee and my hand had swollen up about one and a half times its normal size. The swelling was beginning to creep up my arm, beyond my wrist. I tried to get an appointment with my PCP but could not get in until the next day. So, I opted for the Emergency Room at Grandview.Check in was very quick and I did not wait long to see the doctor. She looked at the hand, asked me questions about other symptoms, then recommended benadryl for the allergic reaction and hydrocortisone cream for the itching. I was on my way home very quickly. Two days later and the swelling has started to go down.Overall, it was a great experience.
I was brought to Grandview after a very severe pedestrian accident. I was in a crosswalk and was hit by a Ram truck. I suffered multiple breaks to my shoulder with a dislocation, a broken hip with multiple fractures, a broken ankle, and a degloved right hand. If anyone doesnt know what a degloved hand is, it is basically when the meat on your arm gets peeled off like a filleted piece of beef. As I said I was taken to Grand View and the teams of Surgeons who worked on me were The Best of the Best of the Best. They are by far the best in the country. It has now been a full month and a week since my accident and my bones are healing like magic with minimal pain and my physical therapy is going wonderfully well. I was discharged from the hospital after 7 days, which in retrospect was probably too soon. They wanted me to leave after 6 days and I actually fought to stay that extra 7th Day. As I said the surgeons were fantastic, and the Intensive Care team was equally stellar. However, once I was moved to the Post op floor, it was like night and day. Almost like I was moved to a whole different hospital. The attitude from everyone on that post-op floor was horrible not only to me but to my family members as well when they tried to call in. They pushed me to do more than I should have been pushed to do simply because they wanted to do less. I had the use of 0 of my four limbs and they were expecting me to feed myself and to get up into a chair. It was like nothing Id ever seen or been a part of. And having never been in this position I didnt know what to expect. They made me feel like I was expecting too much, like I was some sort of Diva Queen asking for my tiara. It was truly shameful after having had such unbelievably wonderful surgeons and ICU care. So what I recommend Grandview? Absolutely. But as with everything and everywhere use caution and speak up if something doesnt feel right or seem right. Do not be afraid to ask questions and do not be afraid to advocate for yourself or your loved one. No place is perfect, especially no hospital in this era of Health care??
Reception personnel was cordial and most efficient.Medical personnel assessing my medical situation were very responsive. After waiting a while for testing, I requested a comfort accommodation of the desk staff which was not fulfilled. Upon my second request, about 15 minutes later, I received an accommodation.Overall, my experience was very positive.
I took my grandfather to Grandview Medical Center due to his severe weakness and other illnesses he had been dealing with for a long time. My grandfather is a man who hates to be seen when he thinks unnecessary, but was so sick that he asked to be seen. As we entered the emergency room, we had a triage nurse who was so unkind and unpleasant. She could not take the time to look my grandfather in the eyes and use a pleasant tone. We waited 4 hours in the emergency room and then were placed into a room in the emergency room. The first doctor and nurses were great, taking the time to show that they cared. We even had a medical student who had the most amazing beside manner. Then we had a physician, Paul Zych MD, who was absolutely the most disrespectful and unprofessional health care professional I have ever encountered. He spoke impatiently and rudely to my grandfather and myself. He did not introduce himself or what title he was. When getting answers from my grandfather he interrupted often, was not gentle, and did not have a therapeutic approach what so ever. His attitude towards finding out what was happening with my grandfather was so negative and it made our family feel as though we were not important and a bother. As soon as he left, my grandfather felt discouraged to seek any more help. Please remember that although it may be a regular work day for you, your patients have so much going on. This is the same day my grandfather was grieving the anniversary of my grandmothers death. My grandfather also has so much pain form conditions due to his time serving in the Marines during the Vietnam War. All veterans should deserve higher respect than what was given. You never truly know what people are going through. No matter how many hours a shift may be or how many days a week you work, patient care and patient advocacy should always trump everything. We were very upset with this emergency visit. My family would like to extend our thanks to the incredible staff that was very therapeutic at the time, regardless of the negatives.
My husband was admitted here early July 2019. He was in a coma, in ICU and intubated for 3 weeks and then on the step down unit for 2. Grandview lacks in physical comforts for sure. The rooms are not well appointed, there are actually shared rooms on the regular floors- I thought that was long gone but it isnt. But okay, it is a city hospital and Good Sam closed thus sending Grandview an awful lot of business. They were always full and probably overfull. I dont know, we were always in ICU or the step down. So as far as physical comforts and appts they dont get much of a grade. That is the only reason I am not giving them 5 stars. HOWEVER- the care he received as wonderful! WONDERFUL. Those ICU nurses and I could name some but probably should not they might not appreciate it on the Web, but those ICU nurses were great, every one of them. We were so worried, didnt know the outcome, he had 6 specialists checking on him and ordering stuff etc., and there was a couple times things were iffy and we were really scared. They were comforting and gave us peace. They dealt with my husband tenderly and with concern and care. I never felt we were getting less than good treatment because the hospital doesnt look as fancy and nice as Soin or Kettering. The care is excellent in my opinion. And we appreciate everything they did!
Very pleasant first office visit. Dr. Was especially easy to talk to reassuring and confident. I am so glad to finally find a good doctor to work with on both my mental and medical needs. Thank you so much for a great first visit, looking forward to seeing you in the near future as needed. Connie
I came in through the emergency room. They showed me the x-ray of a broken bone from my prior hip surgery. They called my Dr and he came to do the surgery. Every staff member from your Grandview staff is kind, helpful, professional and angels. I so appreciate the good care I received at your facility.
The patients are not treated very well there and are fed expired food thats really nasty. I was just there and was showed a package meal that expired 2 weeks ago and I have to go down to help my brother to the bathroom and manouver him around cause the nurses wont do their job and I might have to take him for his walks if he is up to it
I always go to Grandview if there is anything wrong with me. The staff are friendly and will do what they can to keep you comfortable. They forgot my socks I requested, but I understood because it was busy. They made up for it. My RN Taylor did a great job even all the questioning I had going on lol. Patience is the key 💪😁all the way from registration to the cat scan crew. Everyone was appreciated Thanks. Even back in 2003 they were very good. They removed my gallbladder and spoiled me. When Good Sam had told me I was just dehydrated and sent me back home. Grandview staff had told me they were going to keep me until they found out what was wrong as they did. Also back in 2008 they did everything they could to try and save my little brother. They really did, but he didnt make it🥺. They have always satisfied me and they will do what they can.
The medical staff at Grandview Medical Center treated me with kindness and compassion from the moment I entered the facility. Being an uninsured patient, I was treated just as well if not better than a person of wealth and means. I actually felt that they were dedicated to their profession and worked hard in getting me back to good health. I know that my not having insurance is going to be a financial burden on my personal finances, however I want to repay Kettering Health Network for making me feel that my health mattered insurance or not. Thank you Grandview Medical Center Staff.sincerely Grateful.BRAD WRIGHT DAYTON OHIO
The best experience I have ever had in a hospital Beginning with registration to discharge I had Erin as my day shift nurse all 3 days She is professional and kind she was always three steps ahead of my pain She was amazing Josh my night nurse was amazing also, always ready to help me be comfortable and as pain free as I could be. Lora and Diana were just as great in their positions My surgery team took away any fears I had
Hi everyone I would love to think everyone at Grandview Medical Center. My wife and I are usually not impressed let alone care much for hospitals and or the general care and or attitude of most facilities similar to Grandview hospital these days .But we were both takin by surprise during my recent need for major lower back surgery. From the early stages of talking to the brain and spine group threw the pree-op testing admission surgery intake-prep and especially the after care at the hospital the following couple days. We were both extreamly surprised especially me at the quality and personal attention and highly friendly personnel and their attention to detail and good spirits. It still seamed just a little hard to balieve how good my experience is maybe its because I grew up in the area near Grandview and im so use to so much negativity in the area and growing up everyone in our family and friends always went to Good Samaritan hospital that maybe i was under impression Grandview wasnt that popular maybe im not sure why but my wife and I were both shown the truth very quick that Grandview--medical--Center is one of best most personal top quality care facilities we have had the opportunity good fortune to have been treated at to the point that we dont understand why let alone how places like miami-vally hospital can even consider trying to call themselves premier health care facilities other then just so that they can charge higher rates to insurance companies because truthfully and honestly by far Ive gotten the true premier premium quality witb a personal care touch experience from what I consider true premier care from what I now consider to be one the best hospitals Ive ever been in. Which hich is quite a few due to my line of work so I will proudly recommend ☆☆☆Grandview--Medical--Center ☆☆☆☆☆To all my friends and family in the future.Again I would love to thank everyone for such good care and attention to detail before during and still after with continued care and caring support I give you all a big huge high five and a true five star honest☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆●●●Thank you from my wife and I●●●☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
I was a Gastric patient. I came in to view a video which was very educational regarding pre, during, and post op instructions and what to expect on Tuesday, I then had to return on Friday that week for testing and then had my surgery on Monday. From the first day I walked in spoke to the lady at the Information desk, to signing in, to check-in to pre- admission to getting my blood drawn, to x-ray, to viewing the video to getting discharged EVERYONE was AMAZING in taking care of me and my needs. Everyone was kind, gentle, caring, respectful from the cleaning people to dietary, to nursing assistants, to the nurses to the doctors. I was given cards to post a comment for each department but this is for EVERYONE whom I crossed paths with, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! EVERYONE displayed the perfect example of what customer service is supposed to be with listening, kindness, caring, compassion, and understanding. I could not have asked for a better experience, EVER!!!!
Was seen at the hospital Emergency Room, was taken back almost immediately and the service was great. They assisted me getting set up with PCP as well as other specialists. Called next day to check on me. The bedside nurse Emily was fantastic and very caring, wonderful bedside manner.
Father in law had an emergency, broken leg, admitted at 2:30 pm. No one has called for an update, no one is allowed in the facility. Hospital just says they are buisy. Seriously GV needs to review customer care and call relatives to keep them updated. I know covid is terrible. But take the time to inform us.Edit: it took a day and a half to find out that he did not have a broken leg, or Covid as explained by the nurse we talked to. Scary time. They gave it in gear now and are forging ahead with diagnosis and treatment. I gave another 2 stars for quick action. Rhanks team GMC.
I am in complete recommendation of Grandview Hospital. Everyone I dealt with from admissions to housekeeping, from nurses, doctors, technicians, they showed respect for me as a patient and for my health. My wife as a visitor was shown great respect by all including security.I have absolutely no problem giving my recommendation for one to consider Grandview Hospital for their healthcare needs.
I appreciate the fast, expert care I received at GVH Emergency Department on December 23, 2020. The staff was very compassionate, took action getting me on my way to recovery, and back home for Christmas Eve. I appreciate all they did for me. Thank You!Sincerely,Sharon Deis
This was my 2nd total knee replacement surgery since July. Unfortunately only one surgery was done at Grandview. I went to a different hospital for my 1st knee surgery. The difference between the two was unbelievable. 1st hospital didnt make me take a Covid test prior to surgery. 1st hospital tried to toss me out hours after my surgery, even though I couldnt walkGrandview not only made me take a Covid test prior to surgery but was in no hurry to rush me out the door. Instead they took their time and worked with me to make sure I could walk with help, transfer to a car or bathroom chair. I felt like everyone there had my best interest at heart. I would actually recommend Grandview and my surgeon to others, and I absolutely hate hospitals.
The staff on the 5th floor were excellent. They were quick when I ask for help. They were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. They made me feel like I was the only patient they had and did not rush when taking care of me. They went the extra mile to take care of me. God bless all of them!
I do recommend it only because the staff is actually really nice and respectful however my visit took way longer than what it should have oh, I was in the waiting room for over 3 hours before I even got called back to triage. But I go there because all of my doctors and Specialists are there so I trusted the ER and decided to go to there because thats where all my records are at. But the wait was unbelievable! Other than that they took care of me well.

2022-01-02I was very grateful to all the staff for the wonderful care I received, from the doctors all the way to the cleaning staff. I got to know some lovely people! For some reason I didnt feel like I was in a hospital. It felt more like a nice hotel. Maybe it was the decor. My only complaint was about ordering food. The food was very good! But because I said I had a milk sensitivity they wouldnt let me order anything with milk in it!!! Not even cake or a chocolate chip cookie!!!!.it was very frustrating. I can eat things like yogurt because bacteria has broken it down. I can eat milk products if I do so in moderationMaybe you should have a milk free menu so it wouldnt be so frustrating! The food I received was very good! Thank you all for caring for me in my time of need! Blessings to all!

2022-02-03I was in room 4131A for about 4 days until 26 Jan. The attitude and willingness to help in all ways possible by the nurses, aides, & staff is amazing. One nurse aide specifically was outstanding above all others, please forgive me but cannot remember name. She came in about 3:30 am on the 26th to help me and while the sheets & blankets & hospital gown were not a mess, she decided that since I was up anyway that it would be a good time to change all. I felt so good after that I couldnt believe it. She knew I would feel better and she was right. Amazing people doing an amazing job. Thanks for all you do.

2022-03-16I was admitted after a nasty fall that was bleeding internally. I was treated with so much kindness and care. No complaints at all. Loved my nurses and nurses aids. Top quality doctors and interns as it’s a teaching hospital. Top notch care is why I choose Kettering Facilities!

2022-06-10My mother was a patient that went in septic and in kidney failure. They took great care of her. After 5 1/2 days she is once again home with us. Nurse and staff were very polite and demonstrated a genuine caring attitude.

2022-04-04I had Nurse Corinne up on the 5th floor and she was fantastic. She strives to get to know her patients and does a fantastic job at making you feel comfortable. I’m not sure who my surgical nurse was due to being in and out of consciousness but everyone i dealt with before and after surgery was amazing as well. Highly recommend Dr. Morgan for gallbladder surgery!

2022-05-12I really didnt want my husband to be taken to Grandview. It had a bad reputation, and I had a bad experience there previously, myself. But the Troy Kettering staff persuaded me that it was all new and improved by Kettering, so I let them take my beloved husband there. They were right! Wonderful doctors and nurses, an organized Intensive Care Unit, night and weekend staff,, Social Services, Home Care, etc. They were all great.

2022-06-30Im not one that is in the hospital often but I can truly say that this was my best experience ever. Everyone from the nurses (both permanent and traveling), doctors, surgeon, and all ither key and support personnel that I may have missed. I was blessed and fortunate that my wife chose Grandview Medical Center for me to go when I needed medical help the most. Please keep up the awesome work... from a grateful patient.

2022-01-14This has been one of the worst stays in this hospital I have ever had in my life. They have people in in that have been mean and hateful to me. I wont go into detail but I have contacted an attorney. I have listened to the alarms go off on my monitors every 30 minutes and for 3 hours and no one has come in to fix them. I asked for a breathing treatments this morning around 11:45 am it is now 3:35 pm And I just got my fist treatment of the at 3:15pm something is very wrong at this hospital and they better get it fix at this point in time I do not feel safe in this hospital. I am in room 5107 I can see when there are people at the nursing station and one will fix anything.

2022-05-19The nurses and staff were great. And the doctors and surgeons were great. All questions were answered and suggestions were welcome. Everyone treated me like I was the most important person in the facility. Thanks to all.
