Friendly staff. Good food. Good drinks. I like the environment here. Music is never too loud. You can sit and have a conversation if you want.
If Ashland, Ohio was Paris, Joan’s Tavern would be LAstrance. The luxurious atmosphere carefully curated in this fine establishment is only enhanced by its sophisticated selection of fine beverages. A glimpse into their beer case is nothing short of an informed guided tour of the Louvre.The staff at Joan’s is anything but ordinary. You’ll feel personally catered to from the first sip.10/10 a great place to vibe.
We ate at Joans Tavern on 1-26-19. We walked in and the place was newly painted and redecorated. It was very clean. I ordered Buffalo Chicken Nachos and my friend had Barbecue Chicken Nachos. The meals were delicious. Our waiter was very good. He was prompt and very kind. He filled drinks and made sure our meals were up to standard. Then Alex, the owner, came in and chatted with us for awhile. It was a great meal and I will definitely be going back there for another meal.
Nice, rehabbed tavern that draws an affable workaday crowd. The concise layout of the place encourages interaction and friends can be readily made here. Food is good and service quick and courteous.
A great spot with great food, drinks, and service. Dan and Alex are always great. Ive had the BBQ chicken (sandwich and nachos), buffalo chicken dip and chickpea salad sandwich, and its all been fantastic!
I had finished a good day with work an stopped by Joans for a happy hour. It was a swell visit. Others there were having a good time as well. Its a nice, convenient place. Maybe Ill see you there at Joans the next time?

2020-12-15The BBQ chicken is pretty awesome! Especially on the nachos where they serve it on top of nacho chips and doritos. It is huge and only $8. The sandwiches are ridiculously huge too and only $6!! Drinks are only $1!! Very affordable. I hadnt gone here until some friends recommended it because I just thought that it was a bar. But it is actually pretty decent food as well.

2021-11-06Very cool place. Juke box has a variety pack playing that suits my eclectic taste. Tender was great, very personable! Drinks were well made and served with fantastic Convo! We loved our visit and plan to put this place on our need to stop list.

2021-06-30Very nice bar, the bartenders are always extremely courteous and friendly. Nice selections of fine IPAs that usually arent carried at other bars. Theres darts and a few arcade machines available. The music is always good if you like classic rock. The proprietor appears to be a big fan of The Grateful Dead so if thats in your taste 🤷♂️ Another taste you may be interested in is the food available for takeout or eat in, last thing I got was their shredded pork sandwich, which might be the best Ive had in a long time Overall a nice bar and a great change of pace for the scene in Ashland.

2022-01-06The younger gal was more concerned with her red hair and the men at bar than she was to wait on us.... 4 of us... Usually with large tab. But we walked out after one. Disappointed.

2020-02-01Nice cute spot in town! Enjoyed the buffalo chicken dip and the shredded chicken sandwich!! Both were delicious. Overall the experience was great! The only thing I would add, was that we wanted a drink to go and they didnt have to go cups. Thats all! Something minor. We will be back!

2019-03-06I love this place. Great food! Fantastic pub fair food. Great sandwiches. The chickpea salad sandwich is my favorite. Great atmosphere. This is the type of place that friend go to catch up. Clean bathrooms. Unbelievable staff. Alex is a great guy. Stop for lunch sometime it’s well worth it. Come back and play board games with your friends or enjoy good conversation! Joan’s is worth the stop!
