We stopped by the office Saturday not having an appointment and we were welcomed immediately by Cathy who treated us really great. Most places dont treat younger adults too nice and she was super cool. We looked at a 2 bedroom apartment and she took her time explaining stuff since we dont have any real renting experience and not sure what to expect living on our own. If we could afford it, we would rent there because she was cool. We liked the weight room too.
Well first let me just say I was having a good experience at first when we first moved in. After a couple of months, our rent started to increase and every time we asked they tell us something different. Like theyll say water increase or sewage . Overall the complex is a good and quiet place to live but not when you have noisy neighbors downstairs from you . In my opinion they are not honest when it comes to the rent. I dont understand why are rent keeps going up every month. Its like $5 dollars increase every month.
Aside from this location and the well kept property, Ive always had a good experience with the property managers. Ive lived in many different places around town, and they only care about you until after theyve locked you into your lease. The team here truly goes above and beyond to accommodate their existing tenants, not just new customers. Highly recommend Jefferson Chase, ask for Taylor - super helpful, friendly and down to earth!
I lived at Jefferson Chase Apartments for two years and had a good experience. The apartment was nice and updated. I loved the layout of it. Definitely my favorite apartment ive lived in. The management and maintenance team were always friendly, very responsive and helpful. For the most part the pool and gym area are well kept and I LOVED being walking distance to Starbucks and a little grocery store. The sidewalks on the property are in great shape for running or walking. If the rent hadnt increased so much over 2 years, we may have stayed for a 3rd. The only cons I can think of are that sometimes parking was a little rough and one of my move-out charges was for vertical blinds that were flimsy and you could see they were repaired with tiny pieces of masking tape from the time we moved in and continued to fall apart due to normal wear and tear throughout the period of time that we lived there. They should just be replaced with something more sturdy! Overall great experience and I would recommend this apartment to others.
Let me start this review by saying if it were not for the AMAZING staff both in the office and the maintenance men, I would give one star based on the last 4 months. We have lived Cortland Communities a little over 2 years now and except for some noisy neighbors, it’s been a great experience... until the last 4 months.. there has been a recent shift in quality. A unacceptable lack of excellence for almost 1400.00 a month. To start Cortland recently changed landscape companies and the new vendor does a atrocious job. The beds are full of weeds and the grounds are now poorly maintained. The property in general is very unattractive. In addition to this the pool has been closed or locked for half the season and when it is open has loud and unruly children unaccompanied by any adults, making the experience anything but relaxing. The last issue is parking, cortland fails to enforce a car limit and the result is the parking lot being incredibly congested. I have been blocked in multiple times by people parking directly behind me.I love the staff, but unfortunately would not recommend looking to lease here until Cortland Partners decide whether they want to go back to quality living, or continue to look and operate like section 8 housing.
Can’t say enough great things about the staff of the community. I lived there for a year and was sad to leave. Maintenance was always on point, always friendly and stop for a chat, Ashley and Taylor in the office are the gold standard when it comes to service and always greeted with a smile when you walk in. Need more than 5 stars.
Have been living at Jefferson chase apartments for over 11years. The community is very nice. I wish the dumpsters were still in the complex, it looked a lot better residents putting there trash out side their units makes the complex look bad. Also we really need to do something about the parking especially on Jefferson chase way. The maintenance team is great lead by Bill Landis.
Apartment was beautiful, up to date on appliances & very clean.I was impressed the apt looks just like the advertised pics.I was a little put off by having to lay my driver license on the welcome desk in order to pickup a key to tour the apt; DL just lying there in no envelope or nothing, in the open for easy access/easily be grabbed by any passerby; if someone grab the DL that’s literally my whole identity at their fingertips. I GET 100% not touching due to covid & I get 100% they need the ID since you have their key; however there needs to be better way of securing ID while you’re away touring. My DL lying in the open made me uneasy; put it in an envelope & store it behind the desk or something; is this not an identity breach concern? Who thought that process was a good idea?!I chose this community based on pics/all the good reviews; many reviews on how fast the process was/how friendly/responsive the team is. While there 1/11 upon my initial visit I specifically asked if I could move in 1/13; the lady assured me the time frame was no problem & that the app would need to be completed that day. OK. No prob. Filled the app & uploaded everything the online app asked for. 1/12 I called to make sure were on track w/time & Lady was nice/welcoming, she sent an email req addtl docs. Cool. Within mins I sent the req docs. 1 of req items was the phn # to the current landlord,I didn’t make a big fuss but that was already provided on the online app & I even logged in on the online portal to make sure I had it there & yes it was there & it was correct. So that landlord verbiage on the app was just a decoration piece. I sent the req info & waited. The 13th was supposed to be move in date right; welp the 13th came & went. Kept checking email never got any communication. The move-in date was another app decoration piece b/c NO ONE CONTACTED ME in any form to say “hey we see your move in date we’re working on this”.Moving on to 1/14 - I called all day. I sent email saying “Hey move in date was 1/13 whats the update. 1/15 come I get email saying theyre waiting Landlord rental history. Well let’s back up; youve been given by me the LL phn#/email on the online app THEN you directly requested a 2nd time(via email) the phn# since you said youre calling the LL. The LL was NEVER called NOR emailed but yet you’re waiting on a response from her? So fine; I send another email saying the LL hasn’t received a phn call nor email to know what you guys are requesting form her. My LL literally goes completely out her way & calls them. They tell her they’re waiting rental history/She tells them she’s not rcvd call/email & she finally gets email to be filled out. I was advised app could be fully considered once they rcvd rental history.Next, got an email 15th (now we’re going into the weekend)& it said my app says Im self-employed but I provided pay stubs. Well I do need to get paid right? I don’t have a side hustle;I own a business. This really ticked me off b/C AGAIN this is a decoration piece on the online app process since they had those stubs since 1/11 & could’ve req this sooner. My opinion they hadn’t even laid eyes on the online app b/c except for DL & Social, EVERY PIECE OF ASKING INFO WAS UPLOADED ORIGINALLY!When I got back the response they now needed bank statements for a decision, I threw the towel in! I politely went to another apt website, completed the process & got my keys THE SAME EXACT WEEKEND. In my mind, if theyre this disorganized PRIOR to move in, imagine how disorganized they’d be after move in. I just couldn’t fathom the thought. What’s irritating is that you must pay app/admin fee, that they take out IMMEDIATELY, but the “admins” are dropping the ball & you’re @ their liberty to make the decision. Now I’m out the app fee since it’s non-refundable. By all means, follow company protocols, verify all info provided but stop asking for the same info that’s provided & do better @ reviewing/screening what you’ve already req during initial online process.
I have lived here for 10 years. I have seen people come and go but I have to say that Cathy at the rental office is a very personal person. She truly cares about people. It has been refreshing to go in to the office with such a happy person. Cathy has been great with getting my work orders in to be completed. She is a great asset to Jefferson Chase.
I have lived here since August, 2016, and like the environment. Kathy C. is a great agent to work with, she has always been attentive to the community. The maintenance staff has been prompt and curious. The location is good for both getting to various shopping and/or other business sites. Jefferson is a clean, comfortable and friendly community.
You know its a great place to live when management has changed 5 times within a year and a half. Your car has been broken into stolen everything. Been hit. Kids are running all over the complex not caring. And to top it off when you decide you take your dogs out to the bathroom and there not on leashes. Therefore one dog runs up and starts mauling another dog. And the office does nothing. This is a fantastic place to live. Its awesome how parents dont watch there kids. This is the world we live in. Would not recommend living here
Don’t be fooled by the photos online or the office staff who APPEAR friendly.I assist people in locating apartments in the central Ohio area and I am embarrassed. The cabnet doors fall off constantly. The walls are patchy. The bathroom fixtures are coming out of the walls. The doors have not been sized correctly for the main entrance and bedroom. You can literally look right through the spacing around the sides and bottoms. Imagine the cost to stay warm during colder months. The entire apartment is put together with silly puddy.I don’t reside here but I know people who live there. This management company charges for everything!!!!!They charge you to pick up your trash with no option to opt out. So lazy people just go with it. Who wants to see their neighbors trash every day? Disgusting!!!Then I hear that management is very intrusive. They make any and every excuse to enter your apartment. This time around....it’s cable wiring, really?!!! Don’t try to opt out of that when you already have cable...THROUGH THE SAME COMPANY-Spectrum. Why would they need to re-enter your place....do they know that they were just there?I am still awaiting a no smoking update nitice to be placed on their site. They have recently gave residents a two week notice that they aren’t allowing smoking on the premises at all.... I don’t agree with harming my lungs but can you image the residents who aren’t. Are they holding smoke cessation classes or just cutting their residents hands off.I could go on for days about the flaws within this management company.I can’t not mention the fact that if you want to pay rent.....you pay for that too. Dont use the checking option online, they take it out of your account when they get ready.Management, please do not try to attach your generic responses to this review. I have clients with proof of everything I listed plus more. I am ok with just exposing this money hungry company on every social site that allows reviews.Advice: Rethink your way of doing business and allow residents to have freedom in their homes.Opinion: Residents, pay less to have more of what you need elsewhere. This is not a plug for my service, just an honest review.
ROACHES RUNNING RAMPANT!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!It was brought to my attention that my above neighbor had roach activity in her unit , she flooded her apartment the day she moved out and a few days later i started noticing roach activity in my unit i called over to the office and requested pest control to come out and treat the unit and they did once the unit was treated pest control decided it needed to stay on a biweekly regimen to assure they could rid the unit of the roaches. !!!! Due to the roach activity and the strong fumes me and my kids have been unable to stay in our home without feeling uncomfortable and creeped out and I have a infant and two toddlers 1 in which has asthma i agreed for the unit to be treated but i can’t have my babies around the fumes repeatedly I requested for the two months that we’ve been displaced from our home for a credit to be placed on my account and after numerous conversations and ignored phone calls i finally got a answer in which due to the fact that pest control said the unit wasn’t inhabitable i could not receive the credit even though me and my children were displaced! I pay $1100 a month rent and roaches weren’t apart of the lease agreement!!! I was promised a clean , safe environment if I wanted bugs I could live in Miller& Kelton area! They refuse to accept my resolution on the issue due to their mishap , apartments are randomly inspected throughout the year! How was a whole infestation missed when I’ve was in my apartment before said tenant then by the end of her lease the apartment is so infested that it has to be on a biweekly pest control regimen, I find this absolutely ridiculous , I’m continually paying for a infested apartment and now potentially a lawyer!!! Please find somewhere else to live!
The apartments are small with thin walls I can hear both of my neighbors around us. We moved in and discovered damage and cheap fixes in the apartment. They have told us for two years they were going to update our cabinets as the doors and drawers fall of repeatedly.Parking is a nightmare town house residents park in apartment parking even though they have garages And drive ways the courtesy cop does nothing about it but also park in apartment parking. Talking to the houseing office does Nothing and getting ahold of their bosses is ridicules and not possible even though residents have asked for at least Numbered parking to resolve the issue. Which is blown off instead of considered. Not to mention car break ins, noise ordnance after hours violations, blaring car radios late hours of the night, kids getting beaten in their own neighbor hood. Nothing is being done for improvement and I can only Hope the owners read this review.
Ive lived here since 2015 and WOW is all I can scream. JC as I refer to it has truly become my home away from home (Warrenville, OH). Its the best of worlds city & country aspects. I can sit on my porch morning, noon or night and enjoy nature. Children are respectful and the dog park isnt bad. I have a cat and shes never bothered by anyone when sitting on the porch with me. Last week we (residents) were treated to a Panera breakfast with great options! Theres always something going on at the main house (food trucks, wine tasting and Thursday workout groups). Single, married or a combination of family its a diverse place to live long term.
I’ve been living in this place for 8 years, and it’s been hell the whole time. The neighborhood isn’t that great, neighbors are rude, and disrespectful. Christina Brown their Business Manager talks down to tendants, and is very condisending and try’s to make you feel less of a person. I do not recommend coming to this complex the money you pay to live here isn’t worth the rude behaviors.
☆☆☆☆WARNING TO PUBLIC ☆☆☆☆☆As a tenant who is just bending the final corner ending a horrible 15 month lease I would like to warn the public not to judge this book by its warm and comforting cover .This complex and office staff deserves a negative rating to say the least.(maintenence Crew excellent) In 15 months management has changed hands multiple times,ALL of our vehicles have been broken into, during summer months the quiet & quaint recreation areas turn into a staging area / breeding ground for teenage turmoil and criminal activity. My 8 yr old son was jumped while being supervised at this luxurious resort by a gang of deviant teenagers and almost drowned. There has been numerous fires here while my breakers pop on a day to day basis. This (is) nothing more than government housing with a enuff trinket amenities to persuade the public its upper class.Ive never wanted out of a place so bad. When putting in for our 60 day notice to move the office tyrants had the nerve to tell us if we stayed past our date month to month it would cost over $2,500.00 which Im confident hasto be illegal ! Im sure I could rant on and on about the shortcomings of this pesky commune but its honestly not worthy of my time. You have been warned and have a wonderful afternoon.
Have lived here for over 5 years and last year and this year so far has been a disappointment. My rent has increased over $150 over that period. They put charges on your bill that you are not aware of and expect you to pay them. This management group charges for everything. Im so done with them
The apartments are nice however I have a laundry list of dislikes of the entire area and my overall stay at JEFFERSON CHASEThis place is NOT kid or family oriented. No Clubhouse,NO playground, old and out dated gym equipment,No laundry facilities or perks for the tenants. These apartments arent worth the asking price.Youll do BETTER finding a place e in Polaris, Dublin or New Albany.

2022-05-14These apartments are overrated. They are extremely overpriced. They are money hungry and will take your application fee and administration fee and not even run any kind of check and still turn you down. Turned down because I dont make 5,000 a month but definitely make enough to cover rent and my bills. Makes no sense to require someone to make that much. IF I made 5,000 a month I would not be trying to live here.

2019-04-25Ive really enjoyed my experience here at Jefferson Chase. My apartment is spacious and beautiful and I love that we have a view of the pond from our balcony. The dog park is a HUGE convenience because we have two active pups and we take them there every single day. There were a couple unfinished things in the apartment that I didnt have addressed, mainly because they werent that huge of a deal to me (ex. side panel on vanity isnt attached so theres just a space on the side but it doesnt really bother me). The only issue I run into is the kids in the neighborhood who can be pretty obnoxious but thats definitely a parenting issue rather than the communitys issue. The office staff is awesome and always friendly whenever we stop in with questions and they always get back to my emails super quick. I also love having the gym available 24/7. Its a safe, clean community that I feel comfortable walking through in the evening with my dogs. The landscaping is also always taken care of and looks beautiful, especially now that spring is here and the trees and flowers are blooming. Ashley was amazing when I first came to check the place out last summer and listened to my needs and helped me find an opening ASAP, as I had a lot going on in my life and needed to find housing quickly at the time. She truly made the experience seamless. Would absolutely recommend the community!

2020-10-22Experience at Jefferson Chase at Cortland has been wonderful. When I first moved in had an insect issue, BUT it was rectified expeditiously. The maintenance staff here is on point, maintenance request have been fulfilled within 24 hours. The staff customer service is very good always polite and responds to request in a timely fashion. I would recommend this apartment complex to any individual in search of good customer service, maintenance staff over nice place to reside.

2021-03-01DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! It is roach infested!!! I have lived here for almost a year and I found out I had roaches 3 months into living here. I notified the leasing office and they have been treating the apartment and it is not working. Every 3 months after treatment I find roaches. The exterminator told me my apartment wasn’t the source of the infestation. The roaches are inside of the walls and basically travel from apartment to apartment. The walls are thin. When your neighbor’s front door shuts your whole apartment shakes. Needless to say I will not be renewing lease. Do not move here!!

2019-10-16I have lived at Jefferson Chase for a little under two years. Taylor, Ashley, Bill and all the maintenance staff are amazing. A recent example is that I had surgery on my foot and was laid up for three weeks. 2 days after surgery the batteries in my smoke alarms died, at 7 PM on a Friday. Bill came right now, all smiles and changed all the batteries for me. The parking lot was being paved during my down time as well and nothing went as planned, thru no fault of the staff. Ashley reserved a garage for me so I wouldn’t have to walk a ton and Bill drove me around in the golf cart to and from my car a few times. The staff go above and beyond every day. There are your normal issues that come with apartment living, unruly teens, parking, the normal stuff but the entire staff do everything in their power to fix the issues. I can’t say enough about the entire staff. The apartments are well maintained, clean and well laid out. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a more family friendly, laid back crowd!
