For almost 20 years I have been buying cars from j.d. Byrider. Even though its really a program based on helping people that are in need and dont always have the means, their Superior customer service and friendliness has kept me coming back. If you find yourself in Akron in need of a car go here and ask for Barry. He will get you where you need to be with no hassle or pressure. An excellent salesman supported by excellent Financial staff and a fabulous program manager. Truly another great experience!!!
Ok so my transmission went bad in October of 2021 you guys had a new one put in free of charge because I only had the vehicle for a month and now 5 months later my transmission is bad again how am I supposed to make a car payment if my car is always getting repaired! I dont even pull a trailer here can a transmission go bad so fast... seems to me like yall need a new better mechanic! My water pump, heater core,and twice my transmission in 6 months owning the vehicle 6 total weeks of having it in to be serviced! I bought the vehicle in September!
I cant tell you how wonderful and family oriented this place is. You ever walk in a place and expect the worse or think the odds are against you 🤔 I cant begin to tell you that Barry and Cierra( I think thats her name, if not forgive me) went above and beyond . They were also pleasant from start to finish. They didnt mislead me one bit . They updated me every step of the way. I cried several times when I left because you just dont get honest , upfront customer service anymore. You guys are angels 😇! I will forever be grateful 🙏
I will never buy another car from here ever…my transmission is going out and I paid and am paying for the extra Warrenty to cover my power train and the service has been more than disappointing. I’m paying just about 20,000 plus takes and interest and I can’t seem to have any luck with the 2013 dodge charge I got in Nov, 2021. I am on my third job in less than 5 months due to mechanical issues with this car and the issues keep reoccurring. Never go here to purchase a car because u will feel the same way I do which is played, bamboozled, and now I’m stuck with a lemon that they are going to give me a hard time to fix
Earlier this morning I had an issue with cnac calling me to collect my car payment, which is not what I prefer. Alisha called me later, and informed me the caller was a new hire and was not something they typically do. She stated that it was for training purposes. At the time of the original call I was upset, because I took the call as “your trying to skip out on your car payment”. I really appreciate Alisha for taking the time to call me, and explain the situation which made me understand what happen.
My vehicle broke down and because I purchased the warranty the shop was able to fix the problem for next to nothing. What really set this experience apart was that they drove out to my location and transported my family to their business while I waited for the tow truck. Then, when my van needed more time to be worked on they transported me to where I needed to go. I mean, who does that?!
I went to look at buying a car. When I was finished with everything I was not able to get one because I currently have a car loan but besides the point. When I left the car sales man brought out two pieces of paper saying they were the phone number for reaching out to him if my situation changed. Low and behold he gave my girl and me two different numbers. Weird right? Kinda creepy, disrespectful, unprofessional. All good words to describe David of J.D. Byrider. It was his personal cell phone number he gave to my girlfriend. She didnt believed it was his personal number so she texted the number to check. An Id course I had to text it to. This man was extremely unprofessional and is a straight up bi*ch. So make sure you watch it when dealing with David at J.D. Byrider. You might want to make sure you are careful with who you deal with at this company as this is the type of scum you deal with. My girlfriend said she felt uncomfortable about this happening. An yes this is a true story Im not making it up. I wish I was. Its unlikely my girl would lie to me. But this situation is super inappropriate and this man should honestly be fired. I find it funny this company is so messed up they dont have to stuff to admit what happened we was wrong and extremely unprofessional.
Do not choose jdb unless its your absolute LAST option. They dont give straight forward answers, price tags or contract terms. Their advertising is a ruse & very misleading & unrealistic demands; $1g cash down on a MAYBE $9g vehicle for a price tag of $16g for 4 years totalling about $23g with astronomical interest rate.
First time financing a vehicle and this guys did everything they could to make sure I left In a new vehicle. Very nice and easy to talk to would definitely recommend jdbnow to everybody I know. The associate I worked with was Eddy and he explained every little detail that I needed to know and made sure I was comfortable with my purchase.

Called about a ford explorer . Couldnt even give me a price until I completed the preapproval . filled out the so called pre approval app. Then Got a call back. Barry said I need to come in before anything else could be done, I was up front with the type of cars I wanted . So When I got there I was very upfront with Barry. Told him the situation and made him aware that I work in the field n know the games. He said no problem. after filling out all the paper work, meeting with the so called Finance manger. Not only did I find out they didnt listen to the type of car I wanted. Or they did can didnt care . the information I was given from the finance manger was much different . Then What Barry said, when he returned from her office . Thats when I came to find out My APPRVAL depended on how big my down payment was going to be. They wanted 2500.00 cash down payment before I would be approved. and before we even looked at ANY VEHICLES . then I was told that some of the vehicles I wanted were not even on his lot..
Purchasing my car from JDBNOW proved that this company and team in Akron are really about their business. JDBNOW Akron brings a great energy and information element to the car buying experience. I drove from Cleveland purely based on the cold call I made and how I was received and informed from the start. Their inventory was also great, being that this location is a Superstore. They had so many vehicles to choose from! Now I can look sleek driving up on film sets I work on in Cleveland.Teala was AWESOME from the start--so honest, fair, and informative, and had a sense of what I wanted (terms, car type, service, etc), even before the application process (and during). The other team members, were all great at their tasks--in the order which I saw them, they all made the purchase a seamless process. Im telling you, they bring that saying Teamwork Makes The Dream Work to life.Completing the simple application with Teala was easy and quick, then Alisha followed with a budget overview to secure confidence in and affirm what my budget could accommodate monthly to stay on track in order to improve my credit. Bruce in the service department is amazing. He is always willing to work with me for times for drop off and pick up as I work school hours and its hard to figure out a time. He never makes me do anything that is not needed on any of my vehicles. He is never pushy and down to earth. He is the reason I always come back when I need a new car. This is the worst place you could ever go to and I wouldnt recommend going there even if you needed to use the bathroom Id go somewhere else. Customer service and the automotive department is pathetic but I guess that is to be expected from a company that borders on predatory lending and I fully intend on suing. See you in court. And you dont deserve the 1 star rating but they wont let you post anything unless you pick.

It was so refreshing to have a car buying experience where I wasn’t lied too, my time wasn’t wasted, and I didn’t feel ashamed about my credit situation. I have made some mistakes in the past, I am a server so income proof is hard at times, and I am fresh out of bankruptcy, but Barry listened to my concerns, listened to what I needed and wanted in a vehicle, and somehow despite all odds, was able to make it all work out. I am so appreciative to the team there that made my purchase possible. I even got more than twice what I thought my trade was worth!

Buying process works out just fine, get a decent vehicle that is affordable. One problem, CNAC which handles the financing does not give you any room to breathe. Paid off one car through them, on my second vehicle never missed a payment, always on time. Ran into some financial troubles and called to see if I can make some arrangements and the maximum time they would give me is one week which doesnt help when you get paid every 2 weeks. I guess that is how they help out return customers. Thanks for nothing CNAC.

Had to take our car in for service due to some problems. This time in the pandemic has made it quite stressful. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have no medical. So I was afraid with the car, however, a big shout out to Melissa, Sabrina and Mike in the service department for helping me in this situation. I literally went home and cried not knowing the bad news. When I got the call I was amazed and have so much gratitude to all of them. They were wonderful and made me feel at ease with everything. I had another great experience. This is my third car with them and I have only had a good experience from setting up appointment,encouragement of finance,friendly salesman Christian and two awesome hardworking finance advisors amy and monica.i drove off in a Ford focus that looks terrific. VERY pricey. Matter of fact overpriced. Service was 100% free tho. Had my car almost a year and the ball joints went out. They fixed it same day and at no cost. Very pleased. Like I said my car is only worth 4000 and Ill be paying close to12000 when all said and done. By the way never missed a payment and still my credit score has not improved one bit. This is an update. Just had my ball joints replaced last year not even one year ago. And now they are bad again. Of course they say it is a manufactured default part. Do not believe it but I still had to pay for service. Very rude service people. Only reason Im going there is because I have a warranty through them.
Very excellent sells men. They all are very kind and helpful. Jason Y did everything he could to get me into a car and he did just that. All of them are amazing and will be there to help you get the car you’re looking at or for. I’m very pleased with them all and everything they offer.Just had my car in for service they worked me in with their busy schedule and I had it back in a timely manner as well.
My husband and I went into JDB now unsure of where we stood with purchasing a vehicle. Barry, Jeff, and marty, were extremely helpful we were there for 3-4 hours and worked so hard to help us, they all did everything in their power to get us to where we are, and walking out of there with a great down payment and schedule, if you go here choose barry for sure. Jeff was undeniably helpful as well he he understood our situation and worked his hardest to get us to where we are as well. Same goes to marty as well, they all were extremely careful ans understood we were first time buyers and made us feel comfortable and at home.
I have dealt with JD Byrider Akron for a number of years. They have always been fair and honest. I have dealt with Monica especially. I could not think of someone I would rather deal with. Monica is fair and has shown great customer service. She may not give me the answer I want to hear but that doesnt mean she doesnt provide great CS. Barry was really helpful, and advised me on the important parts of each vehicle I was shown. I never felt like I was being strung along just to make sale, and that quality in sales people has been my biggest turn off in my search for a new vehicle, so I appreciated him looking out for my best interest, especially as a first time buyer.
Went with my fiance to get a car, they denied her for being pregnant. Basically said that since she will go on maternity leave, she wont get a car. I do not recommend anyone go to these people, especially if youre a family person, theyll just find a way to discriminate you.
From sales (Brandon) to financing (Monica) to GM (Adam) to Service (Justin), our vehicle purchase has been excellent. Ive had a few minor issues that needed to be addressed and the 99 day warranty covered all our issues and our regular 4yr warranty is comprehensive and gives us great peace of mind. Justin has been great about communicating with me and has done right by us every step of the way! Dale is the mechanic who has worked on my can and he is very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone is service has been wonderful with myself and my kids when Ive had to bring them with me, which is always appreciated! Sometimes as a woman, at best you get spoken to like youre unaware of anything car related and at worst you are swindled and sold services you dont need. This is not the case here. I highly recommend this location should you be in need of a vehicle and need a little credit help!
Should never take anyone 4 times to get the car serviced and corrected when you have a warranty in place. And complained about the same problem 3 times. i guess 4 times a charm. they fixed it i am satisfied now. they should consider getting rid of the old man who flat out lied. and the guy that agreed. because i have a newborn and that in fact is a safety hazard. when i asked about the brakes he said oh you dont need to get them changed until another year. come to find out the pads and the rotors GONE! so if you are a warm body with bad to decent credit and need a semi reliable car to get to where you going. go to J D B. theyll make sure you get in a car and that is pretty much it. because you sure wont be able to get out the contract even when they dont stick by their own promises on making sure the vehicle stays sufficient!
I have had to take my car to the service dept. numerous times. Melissa has always been extremely helpful, polite and efficient. I really dreaded having to deal with someone else. However, I could not have picked a better replacement than Justin. He is the male version of everything I admired in Melissa. Hello.Today i had a good day at J.D. Byrider of Akron, Ohio. Eventhough this is my 3rd vehicle purchase over the years from them I am always nervous about payments, since the way jobs are now with the Coronavirus. They quoted me on my affordability and got me in one of my 3 choices or vehicles. No pressure added. My representative was Barry Myers. I recommend them. Good vehicles, good warranty and great attitude staff.

I have had a problem for a year a month after I got the car and had been told unless the light was on nothing could be done and in March almost a year the day she is making sure it will finally be fixed n corrected the right way n no problems from it!! I love dealing with her....she takes her job serious and I have been with this store for over 3 years or more!!!!Thank goodness Melissa is there watching out for the customers all the time and stands up for the customers!!
I don’t normally do reviews but this place was awesome! Not someone who is easily impressed but I was easily impressed. It’s really easy to tell that their main and only focus is helping you in your situation and getting you into a vehicle you really like not just any vehicle. Brandon was the best sale guy I’ve ever dealt with anywhere funny outgoing really good personality I see why they have over 500 good reviews. From the second we walked in the door too well after we walked out the door we were treated with respect. A difficult thing to find since we live in a world now where no one cares about their customers it’s all about the money, not this place. Again highly impressed!!!! thanks again to the entire staff,We will be back in the future...
Bought a Nissan Versa 2 days ago. Loving the car!! Josh was very kind and understanding. He made sure we understood every detail. Sales team has been awesome and the support with the service department has exceeded my expectations and delivered the highest quality service possible. We just bought a Jeep Patriot off them last week! They really worked with us considering my husband works just about every day til 5 or 6 PM they stayed open til about 11PM to get us approved, signing paper work, and test driving cars! Im a prior customer and was pleased in the past. So this year I had a chance to get a car and have been struggling financially, so I went were I was familiar and had had a good experience. Well this yr has been horrible. I purchased a 2009 Pontiac G6 in Sept and have had problems since. First, water leaked inside the vehicle during car washes and rain. After complaining for weeks that was repaired. Then the brakes were squeaking, and the windshield wipers werent working during a constant spurt of rain over weeks. I was also instructed by the service manager how to locate the wiper fuse and fixed it myself. Lastly, the body panel was patched and painted to deceive me. The lower back passenger side has RUSTED. The car is white and the rust looks HORRIBLE. The prior 2 vehicles I purchased had excellent bodies and didnt show any signs of rust until 3-4 winters and both were free and clear. Although Justin ( Akron) has been more then willing to work with me the ball is constantly being passed as CNAC refuses to provide ME with customer satisfaction.. Im embarrassed to tell anyone where I got my vehicle, and can not and will not refer anyone to JD. Im a pertain who prides myself in taking good care of my car inside, out and maintenance. Im making payments over $400 a month to drive a around in a rusting vehicle. Justin did take pictures of the deteriorating paneling and influenced me that service dies not normally do body repair, but JD psyched and painted the vehicle to give me the impression that the vehicle was attractive and reliable. Here it is 4 Ana a half months late with minimal snow fall and my white vehicle has an ugly RUSTING hole and metal scraps falling off into my driveway.....Im very disappointed and will not purchase another vehicle from JD again. I want a better quality and better looking vehicle. Ive also had a few verbal altercations with one of the female staff there. She was unprofessional and used profanity. Im making my parents then Im done. Im very very disappointed. This has been my worse experience thus far. 😡
Amazing, careful and respectful. Barry was awesome! Monica with CNCA was honest, fair, kind and motivational. They were very upfront with the situation I was getting into and I was ignorant in thinking that I was going here because I had great credit. Everything worked out great and Im so happy we went here!!!
This company is the Most deceitful establishment that I have ever done business with. If I could give them a negative star I would... We got a vehicle from them 12 days later we found they did not change the oil.. What they actually did was put clean oil over dirty oil... No transmission fluid we had to do a complete flush and get new breaks.. Long story short a lemon. Called the service department spoke with Sean and Melissa two of the most ignorant people to walk the planet. Im not going argue or miss a payment but I am taking them to court and will review them on every social media site available. If I prevent one person from buying from them this review is worth it. Run away.. Dont walk away from this company... Learn from my mistake
We had an unforgettable experience!! Me my husband and our son went to JDByrider in Akron Ohio. Our salesmen Andrew was super nice, knowledgeable, and fought to get us approved for our vehicle. He and the financial adviser Paul were so patient with us and our very rambunctious toddler. Andrew and Paul were a dynamic duo getting us approved and out the door in a car we liked efficiently and while dealing with other customers as the dealership was full of other people. I have an auto bought from jdbyrider and have had an on going problem with it have had it in for service to correct the problem3-4 times generally the car is kept for 1-2 weeks except one time it was kept for a month which after two weeks I given a loaner after a lot of complaining. To this date I have been charged over 400.00 dollars for the repairs done on the vehicle and it still has the same problem. When I called back I was told that they really thought that what they did would have fixed the car giving me a very real sense that they have no idea what to do to fix it just keep throwing ideas at it and charge me for it hopping they accidentally get it fixed. At this time I have no faith in the service department and will no purchase or recommend anyone to deal with this business due to the fact that the only thing that seems to be important to this business is get the customers money and after that who cares if the vehicle is safe to drive or will even start reliably.

The absolute best experience I ever had buying a car. My sales person was Alton. Awesome guy. Very friendly wasnt pushy or trying to force us into something just to make a sale. He actually was very sincere and wanted to get us into something we loved and that we could afford. When we first walked in it was a little before they were gonna close and they didnt try to get us out they stayed explain their process very well and in terms we could understand. Very professional and very honest. Coming from a dealership that my wife and I had a very bad experience we where nervious and cautious but Alton was very polite and understanding of the situation and calmed us down almost immediately. It was like a family environment. Amy was the one who went over the paperwork with us great lady very professional and understanding explained everything so that we xould understand and she was really patient when our 1 year old was throwin a fit lol. I was nervous coming in, because Ive never had to do this before, but this was the easiest and best customer experiences Ive ever had. Every team member we met with today was kind, courteous, and professional and did everything that they could to get us into a car. I definitely recommend!
Alton sold us a 2008 Mercury Sable. He and his team worked with us to make sure it was affordable and wasnt going to cause any financial issues in the long run. It was a long day, but he made it worthwile by selling us an awesome car. He was very friendly with a good sense of humor, and was able to answer any of our questions. The best part of this whole purchase is that JD Byrider will send our payments to the credit bureau which will help us in the long run. My boyfriend bought a car from them a few days ago. We went online and I was contacted by the salesman Jason Falish. He was great, very informative and knew what he was talking about. He got us a great deal on a nice car. I recommend him as your salesman. He definitely has the buyers best interest at heart.
I told the sales rep about my background prior to coming in and he said what he needed to say to get me in there. Basically he treated me like a number that’s it that’s all and wasted my time. A few people there were nice but yeah I’m cool on them there is no need to lie to get me to come in getting my hopes up just to have my leaving upset.
Jim and the team here have been so wonderful and understanding. The experience was lovely and the team makes you feel welcomed and they let you know they are here to help. I would strongly suggest this location, in Akron, for anyone that is shopping for a car. Be sure to ask for Jim!
I had some issues with my car. We only have the one car and I called spoke with Justin and he got me in right away and took care of not only the issue but some other things that he found going on with my car. He was really helpful and so kind . So thankful I got my car back quick and its running great!!!

I just gave them a little patience and the outcome was amazing. I have a great vehicle with no issues. My kids and my family are so happy for me.
