New heel on top of old heel instead of replacement. Not the best.

2020-09-14The owner of the shop is such a sweet man. He always fixes my shoes beautifully, especially pairs that have meant a lot to me. He works quickly and usually I get them back within a few hours. His shop is right in the heart of Madeira and is easy to find. He also sells other leather goods in his shop! I highly recommend him. He is the only one I trust with my items.

2020-11-29After trying 3 other places to get my LL Bean boat shoes re-soled, I walked into JCL and was told its not a problem. A week later, I had my shoes back, new soles. Great value, friendly service.

2020-01-28Wow! I had a pair of older leather dress shoes I got from a thrift store that were fairly beat up with scuffs, scratches, etc. around the toe area. He cleaned them up and added weatherproofing in less than an hour and for less than the cost of two drinks at the bar next door. They look waaaay better, and Ill be coming here any time I need similar work done. Love how late this place is open as well. Cash-only.

2017-12-23I am from out-of-town and was briefly in Cincinnati visiting family this holiday season. After looking around the area, and calling several shoe repair businesses, JCL had flexible working hours and had quick turnaround service. My repair was somewhat unique and multiple other businesses wouldnt even commit to trying to complete my repair which included taking in an in-seam on a black vinyl knee-high boot. JCL did an EXCELLENT job and one would never notice that these boots had been altered! Outstanding craftsmanship and speedy turnaround. I highly recommend! Worth every penny.
