They would not let me order room service from table 45 the restaurant downstairs. So I had to go down and order takeout. I have gotten the fried calamari from table 45 about 6 months ago and it was the best I ever had so I ordered it this time and it was the worst I ever had. Also I would expect nicer rooms for the money. Small room and tiny tv. Next time I think I will stay at Tudor arms or Marriott.
Went to Restaurant 45 in the IHG Hotel for food and drinks. We sat at Bar for quick service as we did not have a lot of time. The Bartenders/serverer (2) were very good. The prices of the food and drinks were on the HIGH side. The problem was the barstools had short backs, hard plastic, and Extremely uncomfortable. I would have thought if you are going to charge on the hgh side, you could have provided a COMFORTABLE SETTING. Have to go back to Cleveland Clinic shortly and will look for more comfortable restaurants.
I did not have a good experience . I have always wanted to go there just for the fun of it . Well I was supposed to meet a friend there for lunch . I came out of the hospital entrance where I was asked where I was going when I got in the building and that was fine I was directed to the elevators and once I got off the elevator I walked to a desk to get further instruction on where I needed to go . I was told they would use a key card to let me in . There was a female that looked me up and down before she told me which desk to go to . I brushed it off . I went to the next desk and The young lady at the desk told me she did not have her key card on her and to speak to concierge and they would help me . I went to concierge and asked the man if he could direct me . He wanted to know why . I said I’m meeting a friend for lunch . He asked me did I go through security . I told him about the people I went through and even the young lady who said she didn’t have her key card . He said she is not security and that I need to go outside the building and security would give me the ok to be in the building. I was confused because I had been in the building already over 30 mins getting the run around by the staff . I didn’t argue . I went outside where he pointed down the street past the valet workers . Needless to say there was no security waiting for me . That made me feel like according to him I wasn’t good enough to be in that building . I mean I wasn’t dressed up but I wasn’t terrible either. I was dressed casual . I have never felt like that before . So I called my friend who was already there waiting and canceled. I won’t be back
I have to edit my last review. Anybody can have a bad day and any trip can get off to a less than ideal start. I am sitting in the InterContinental hotel lounge right now. It is our third stay here in 2 months. Weve spent nearly three weeks in total as their guests. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The service has been beyond compare. This hotel is attached to the Cleveland Clinic. Most people staying here are patients and their families for the hospital. We are all in a stressed out state of mind. And the staff at the Inter Continental could not be kinder. I have to give particular recognition to Miguel and Kiara at the front desk and to David the head concierge who opened the gift shop for me to get the cough drops my sister so desperately wanted after her surgery. Bernadette, Antoinette, and Monica in the club lounge are remarkable women. They remember everybody. They ask about and truly care about the people that visit here. They smile and are gracious through every circumstance. This lounge and the ladies who staff it are an incredible comfort to me when we are in Cleveland. Our room amenities in April and in May were as promised on the website. The facility is a bit tired. It is kept in impeccably clean condition, but plumbing and HVAC upgrades are needed. We have at least one more trip to Cleveland in our future and, without a doubt, we will be staying at the IHG InterContinental, using the Club level. If you are going to be in Cleveland for an extended stay at the Cleveland Clinic, you should too.
I have stayed at this property multiple times. The previous stays were all good experiences. My last stay was not that good. While all the staff were courteous and helpful the room was not what I would expect from an Intercontinental. There were repairs poorly done, light fixtures that did not work, plumbing issues, the room was generally in disrepair. I was staying after surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and quite honestly did not have the energy to make much of a fuss. If you are expecting an Intercontinental 5 star experience, you will probably be disappointed.
I had heart surgery scheduled for Feb 2022 and required a 10 day stay (out of towner - Pittsburgh). The Intercontinental at 9801 Carnegie (NOT the one on Euclid) is actually connected by skywalks to Cleveland Clinic hospital which is an AMAZING benefit during the colder/uncertain weather months. You can leave your car in the parking garage across the street for $10 day (or around $5 day for a multi-day ticket - check with HOSPITAL VALET, NOT hotel valet)The hospital area had quick-eat shops like Subway and Panera and the hotel had nice breakfast and dinner restaurants! Food and service were great. We used room service twice - food was hot and came quick! After surgery, I went back to hotel for a couple of days and couldnt find anything suitable to sleep on ...AND THEY BROUGHT UP A RECLINER!!!!! Now thats what I call SERVICE!I highly recommend this hotel if you are having surgery of any length at Cleveland Clinic - ESPECIALLY IN THOSE COLDER MONTHS.I cant praise them enough - made a difficult visit much easier to handle.
The hotel was very clean and the decor was lovely. The staff was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Be aware this location is connect to the Cleveland clinic. We didnt take that into account and heard helicopters and ambulances through the night. It was really mild concern, but worth noting. Some of the views were quite nice.the food was top notch. We ordered room service late in the evening but the food was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was equally tasty and pleasantly calm at the club level lounge. The only really problem we had was the bed. It had a hard spot at about hip level for me, and it was fairly uncomfortable. But it was clean.
I cannot tell you how grateful I was to be able to stay at your hotel. At the last minute, actually with only 2 days notice, my husbands surgery had been moved up a month ahead of what was scheduled so After calling several other your hotel was the only one that had a room available. Not knowing if I was going to be needing it for 2 nights of a week depending on the outcome of my husbands surgery I booked it for 5 days. All I can say is that I met the most caring and knowledgeable staff that always made me feel comfortable and was there if there was anything I needed. Thank you to all
Our stay was pleasant, comfortable, and couldnt have beenmore convenient to the Cleveland Clinic. Table 45 has excellent food. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. We did not walk around the neighborhood; so we dont reallyknow if there were any interesting stores or restaurants. The hospital seems to dominate the immediate area, whichfor us was why we were there, so the convienience to it was key.
Though the bed was pretty high, it was comfortable to sleep on. I could hear the people on both sides of me talking and their tv. There was no tv channel guide. The clock was not working, or too techy for me. Should have easy to use clock in room. There should be better directions for people trying to get to the hospital to visit patients. The people were nice when I checked in and out. The ordered a shuttle for me when I asked with no problem. I did not use the restaurants so cannot rate the food. The smoke detector should be located in a place other than over the bed. For the price, I guess I expected better. Not so sure I would go back.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Cleveland 3 times this year for consultations and surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. This is an excellent hotel by any standards but the fact that it is attached to one of the most pre-eminent medical facilities in the US is an added bonus. The hotel is exceedingly comfortable and the staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating. Also, the lodgings are very quiet, an ideal atmosphere in which to receive care and recover. Location is also great, very near University Circle and Little Italy. I would seriously consider staying at the Intercontinental for any visit to Cleveland, not just to visit the Clinic.
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and have received great service both times. First time my husband had to have minor surgery and they accommodated us to have a late check out (due to me being a member) which worked out great since we had to be up early he was able to go back and rest for a couple of hours. We never have to leave the complex. I love that. This last time they stored our luggage and coats so we could just go to the lab and dr appt. Then when we were done we came back over to the hotel got out luggage and had them get our car for us. This costs extra but it is so worth it.
They treat their customers extremely well. All staff that I interacted with were very helpful, very polite, and very professional. Our room was pretty and comfortable. The food very good, and when I had to extend our stay at the last minute twice, we were accommodated immediately. I would highly recommend.
Excellent accommodations with excellent staff. The desk clerk Ian Young was excellent. Our wait staff at Table 45, Anastasia and Camile were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was excellent. We had dinner there both nights. We will be back for another stay. Thank you
I can’t express in words how great this hotel is, but anywhere else you stay will pale in comparison. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is extremely friendly, professional, and welcoming. The hotel is immaculate and the food is delicious. I will never stay anywhere else in Cleveland, and my experience at this hotel makes me look first for Intercontinental anywhere I travel.
If this stay wasnt completed using my free ambassador night we would have been more upset. Good location but it really needs work. Valet was no where to be found. Always had to hunt them down. Front desk didnt know how valet worked. Felt like we were the only ones at the hotel but when I wanted to pay for upgraded room I was told they had no availability. Room wasnt cleaned to standard even before COVID. Would not stay here again. This Intercontinental needs work.
Stayed 10 days due to hospital visit. Location is safe for going back and forth to the hospital, just know they are going to over charge your for it....... BEWARE: changed my rate I was quoted when I checked in. I have stayed here 3 other times for my sons surguries, beware they no longer have a good price long term stay rate or free valet for patients. I had to get new keys 8 of the 10 days we were there. Gave the maid towels and garbage, she never came back, called the front desk and they put a work order in. Had to get towels from the work out room to shower. 26 hours until supplies were delivered.I didnt realize they charged be for 2 bottles of wine from the mini frig (I dont drink) until I got home. There were two days where our due not disturb sign was on the door and the maids opened our door and came in. The stocked mini frig is large, but the guest area is not very cold and is extremely small. If you have a patient on a special diet or baby and you need to keep milk cold, bring your own cooler. The 2nd manager I talked to did adjust my bill to the rate I was promised at check in.
Positive: Location and ease of hospital access. Negative: The (3) gentlemen at the front door could say hello or offer to help with my bags. The front desk gentleman could stand to look up a couple times and maybe smile when checking in. First impressions mean a lot and generally set expectations.
It Is unusual to find a hotel where EVERY staff member, without exception, genuinely demonstrate that they care. That is what my wife and myself experience during our stay Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland. We felt valued and cared for. It was a rare and wonderful experience!
This IHG Hotel is serving primarily the Cleveland Clinic patients & families. We have stayed at the Club Level last 2-times. Here are a couple of ideas to make the stay better for the patients:1. The beds are too high for sick people to get in & out. Consider changing one bed in the 2-double bed rooms to a Platform Bed with good mattress. Reduces the height tremendously.2. A basic microwave will be a great addition as the food menu choices @Table 45 are unhealthy, full of fat and salt.
Visited the Cleveland Clinic for a health work up/second opinion. Hotel was accommodating (late arrival), clean and sanitized. Restaurants on site are delicious! Walkway bridge to the hospital is an added bonus. Valet for our car was reasonably priced. Overall a pleasant stay..
The hotel was situated in a very convenient place and made it easy due to the Sky Walk to go to my appointment at Cleveland Clinic. Also, had we been able to stay a little longer, I am sure we would have enjoyed the room a little more. I did use my laptop and it was convenient to log on to the WiFi
The Cleveland Intercontinental Hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff is universally friendly, helpful and professional. Because of its proximity to the Internationally acclaimed Cleveland Clinic medical center, many of the hotels guests are visiting the Clinic. That is the reason I sought lodging at the hotel. For those dealing with medical issues during the Covid Pandemic, having confidence that their lodging is a meticulously cleaned, safe place to stay is extraordinarily important. I have stayed at the Clevealnd Intercontinental several times during the pandemic and felt as safe and protected as I did when I was visiting the Clinic.
Hotel proximity and accessibility to Cleveland Clinic was very helpful for patient testing and for family to visit after surgery. Also would workWell for people attending a meeting or training at the clinic. The restaurant food was good. The rooms were well priced. Concierge level not really worth it until Covid restrictions are lifted. Also, house keeping only every 3rd day So less than ideal for some. WeWould stay there again if we needed access to the clinic. Both managers that were working while we were there were willing toListen and correct what they could.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times when I have been in town for doctors appointments. It is perfectly located to the Cleveland Clinic. The restaurants and bar are good, so you dont have to leave the hotel if you dont want to. We stayed in the hotel during the winter snow, but ventured out on our visit in August. The weather was beautiful. Cleveland has many delicious restaurants and we enjoyed the city. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit!
We just returned from a stay and I cannot say enough good things! Highly recommend the club level. The club level is staffed by ladies that make you feel like you are welcomed and appreciated. Monica served us afternoon snacks and gave us amazing information about the city and landmarks surrounding the hotel. She is a wealth of information for all traveling to the city. The rooms are comfortable and a welcome retreat from a long day at the hospital. If we are ver return to Cleveland, we will definitely stay here again.
Staff was great. The Salmon didnt have much flavor and the sides served were very small. My husbands steak was good but again the sides were very small. Our nieces chicken dinner was okay but again very small sides. We have always had a great meal at Table 45 and invited out niece for her Birthday Dinner. Next visit to Cleveland in March may try a different restaurant.
I was a patient at the Cleveland Clinic and choose to stay here since it is connected to the hospital and it was my first visit. I won’t stay anywhere else for my future clinic visits. The staff is compassionate, helpful, and attentive. The hotel is impeccably clean. And the location made me feel at ease since it was so close (attached!) to the clinic. I was able to go back to my room between appointments which helped me feel at ease. And when I had an urgent immediate medical issue occur, the staff assisted me capably and with such compassion. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
My wife and I stayed here about 5 years ago when I had surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and found the hotel services excellent then and this stay was even better. Because of Covid constraints, the hotel had more obstacles to overcome, but all was great. We had room service the night of check in and the service and food were excellent . Breakfast in the dining room was also excellent. From my memory, the food has improved greatly. My wife commented that this was like staying at a luxury resort
I have stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel for many years. Have always been satisfied. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Would like a more soft top sheet on the bed as it is a bit stiff. Room service is always excellent and served hot. Sometimes room service enters room too quick before you have a chance to get to the door, should pause a half minute.
My family member was flown via helicopter and we had to make an immediate trip to Cleveland Clinic. I immediately called the reservation line trying to book a room for my family. I was told there were no rooms available the day we were coming in or the next day at any of the 3 properties attached to the hospital. My sister in law had booked a room that day, sent me the link and I was able to book online with no problem. When we arrived there was a couple being checked in before me. The concierge was so attentive, thanking them for staying, noting their membership, making sure they got their free drinks or points. He told them where everything was to help acclimate them. When I walked up and he opened my reservation his demeanor immediately changed when he noticed I had booked with a discount (military). The amount of eye contact, the tone in voice, the basic question/one word answers. He didn’t give me any extra info. It was quite a difference from what I had watched prior. Once I get into my room, the first thing I notice is someone’s glasses on our bed side table. So, I immediately wondered if that had been wiped down since they were still there. Then, we also found someone’s retainer box under the table. Later into the visit, I also found a prior guests medication under the bed. Having twin 3 year olds in the room with me, that was beyond disturbing. Considering we are in a pandemic, attached to a major hospital and still required to wear masks inside, you would think cleaning would be more of a priority. I was able to receive late checkout at 1pm and had the do not disturb sign on my door only to have housekeeping bang on the door and question me about still being in my room at noon too. When I mentioned some of the issues to the gentleman at checkout, the response was “I’m sorry. I’ll have to mention that to security”. ??? He didn’t seem genuinely concerned at all. For the price they charge here, even with a discount, I was extremely unimpressed. If we have to come back, I’ll stay at a another hotel, still within walking distance of the hospital.
Very nice hotel with a friendly staff. Room was not very clean and in our 3 night stay, the room was never serviced. The food was decent maybe 3 star at best but at 5 star prices. It was very convenient for us as our visit was to the Cleveland Clinic. Next time I will likely stay somewhere else and save the extra money
My husband had surgery at Cleveland Clinic so I stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The room was clean and peaceful and was was an easy walk to Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, there were transport vehicles readily available. It was a safe comfortable environment to stay at. I would recommend it.
Very clean rooms with modern finishes. Valet parking super quick when we needed our car. Reservations quick and easy with Jordan at front desk and also at check-in. Speedy room service by Charmaine at 1am after long hours at hospital and the girls in 14th floor Club Lounge giving us special care and attention - Monica, Antoinette and Bernadette - with a big smile. They greeted us BY NAME every day ! The staff was kind and friendly almost knowing instinctively our family was stressed and exhausted from my husbands surgery at Cleveland Clinic. The Intercontinental Hotel is the only sensible accommodation for patients at Cleveland Clinic, simply an elevator ride to 3rd floor, onto the Skywalk straight into the hospital. The short walk is a relief for patients families. All our needs were met.All employees associated with Intercontinental Hotel are the best of the best.
While we were there to visit the Cleveland Clinic, as are many of the other guests, its pretty amazing how they made it such a relaxing and luxurious experience that its hard to imagine youre there for any reason other than a getaway. The restaurants are wonderful, every single staff member was friendly and helpful, and they have everything you could need. The wifi is even amazing! I was able to work from my room, which was so helpful.
We had a very nice experience at this hotel. The room was cleaned and comfy and the bathroom was well organized and had a very relaxing shower. We stayed only one night but they treated us very well and helped us out with a late checked out. We had many appointments at the Cleveland Clinic and being able to check out late gave us the advantage to be on time and not have to pack our things in the morning. The staff was nice and pleasant and they checked us in and out expediently. The food at the restaurant was good and the service was on spot We will stay there again on our next trip on July.
The Intercontinental was extremely convenient and the access to Cleveland Clinic was invaluable. The housekeeping staff (Sharon) was so helpful and kind. The room itself was very comfortable. The gentleman that checked us in was awesome and gave us a room with a view since we would be staying 2 weeks.
We needed a couple rooms traveling through and we were all tired after a long day of driving. We were able to get rooms and booked them, arriving late at night. The staff greeted us warmly and we went right to our rooms. Taking a moment to just rest on the bed, I sunk into the bed and didnt want to get up. The bathroom was very spacious and filled with high quality items to make our stay even more pleasant. After a great night sleep, we checked out. Again, the staff was friendly and made check out very quick and efficient. Would definitely stay again.
This was our first visit to Cleveland, so it was nice to stay with a hotel brand we are familiar with. We tend to be thrifty travelers, so we choose not to partake in in-room dining, but there was not a store close-by or vending where you can get water or snacks as a room service alternative. The restaurant where we did treat ourselves to breakfast twice was good, a little over-priced and not to their fault, understaffed. We were in town to visit the Cleveland Clinic and the location of this hotel could not have been better. Our arriving flight put us at the hotel and little after 1pm and we requested to check-in early just so we would not have to tote our luggage with us for 3 hours. The front desk staff seemed doubtful that we could check-in that early, but he checked anyway and he was able to accommodate us. Our room was very spacious
InterContinental Hotel adjacent to Cleveland Clinic was even more than we expected. It is a gorgeous facility, entrance, restaurants, common areas and wonderful rooms (baths, beds/linens)! The staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable! The food service was exceptionally good - Table 45 for dinner, room service and Cafe for breakfast also exceeded out expectations! Access to the Cleveland Clinic was important to us for our recent visits and the Skyway worked fantastic! Its safe, convenient, very good signage
World-class hotel attached to the world-class Cleveland Clinic. High quality attention to detail in service, furnishings, construction, interior details, etc. Beautiful fresh flower arrangements throughout. Fantastic restaurant for anyone with a passion and appreciation of fine food. This is particularly amazing given the fact that the hospitality industry has such difficulty hiring and retaining staff at this time.
The Intercontinental Hotel went above and beyond my expectations for a luxury stay while here in Cleveland! All of the staff and crew were so welcoming and jovial, I really appreciated their service and attention to detail. The rooms were fresh & clean with bright, open spaces and a wonderful view of the city and University Circle area has many sights to see as a tourist visiting from out of state. Thank you so much IHG for having me for the weekend! I wont go to any other hotel from now on, this WAS the best place to relax and unwind after an eventful adventure throughout the city of Cleveland! 10/10
The hotel is critically located to the Cleveland Clinic. The staff are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The hotel is well appointed and the food service is good. The problem with my stay was twofold: 1) the rooms are only cleaned once every three days, supposedly due to COVID precautions and 2) the internet service is not secure.
We went for the sleep study. We told them that my husband/caregiver was coming with me. They booked us for. One bedroom suite which we found out he was not allowed to use the bed also so he had to use the pullout sofa. Our bed at home is about 15 years old and the pullout sofa was by far worse. The mattress was thin and he cut his leg on part of the metal. We had to call the front desk twice to get blankets as the first time they brought him a really old tattered and itchy green blanket. We had to make the pullout sofa and there was no fitted sheet so we made do with hospital corners. We found out they could have given us a two bed suite if we had called. Which I did call and confirm multiple times because I didnt want to get there and be told he couldnt stay. We got to the hotel early as we were coming from almost an hour away and not certain about traffic. We were told there was a restaurant down stairs and we could make use of it. We ordered wings and the steak. When the steak finally got to us, mine was overcooked so my husband switched his with me. There was also a kale salad. It tasted funny but I had already taken a forkful so finished what was in my mouth. My husband tasted his by trying a leaf. I dont know for certain which part of the meal did it but I am thinking the kale salad and right after I got hooked up to the machines all hell broke loose. I got a fever and was vomiting violently all night. Worst of they got it on camera ad I was there for a sleep study! I had some medicine on me and the doctor kept giving me water so that was good. Worst time ever. We were told we had to leave by 8am the next morning which was very difficult.
Stayed 6 days in this beautiful modern hotel with great city views, Staff was scrupulous with Covid protocols, masks, temperature taking, hand sanitizer stations. Concierge was particularly helpful with suggestions for dining, etc. Because of Covid policies, our room was not refreshed as much as I like (linens, coffee, towels) but that may change as pandemic wanes. We originally booked at wrong hotel, the sister “suites” hotel nearby, realized this at check in, both hotels were so helpful in changing our reservations and getting us settled in the right hotel for us! Note that if you have a car, the Valet service is very helpful and very pricey! We will definitely return!
My husband had to have surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and it was so convenient to stay so close to the hospital. The staff was kind and courteous, the hotel was very clean and I appreciated the safety measures in place for covid. I felt very comfortable and at ease during my stay.
This hotel was very convenient to our appointments at the Cleveland Clinic. They gave us a decent rate for that reason. I was disappointed in the restaurants which were very pricey. We did eat one meal at Table 45 which was delicious but we could not afford to eat there again. We stayed at this hotel because of several appointment in a two day span at the Cleveland Clinic. I wish there were more meal options for people who cannot afford to eat at an expensive restaurant. We will probably stay again because of the convenience to the Clinic.
In my opinion this hotel was very overpriced. The rooms AC was capped at 66 and we were there for a June wedding so you couldn’t even really go into your cool room to try and cool off. There are no good food options close by, and the cafe charged $23.00 for a burger and fries. The valet parking people were rude, and were practically pushing me out of my car so they could park it faster. I didn’t really like that and it was frustrating. I understand things have to be processed quickly but the abrupt way they handled it was aggravating.
The front desk staff upon our arrival were friendly and courteous. The room was very spacious and clean. The mattress and bedding were clean and very comfortable. The hotel has a direct walkway to The Cleveland Clinic which makes it extremely convenient. As a courtesy for being an IHG rewards member, they also offered us a late checkout. We will definitely stay here again.
Good location for easy access to the Cleveland Clinic. Plenty of staff to assist guest and patients. The area is pretty silent and empty after 5 o’clock and it’s not many restaurants without having to get your car out of valet, although their pretty quick. The Restaurant at the hotel is overpriced. There are restaurants that deliver a solid menu that doesn’t have most of the items essentially ala-carte. The rooms don’t have refrigerators or microwave ovens, which should be available for certain needs as I often stay at 4 star locations, not to take away from the amenities at IHC.
This hotel does a very good job with cleanliness and health precautions. It was a little more money than I would normal spend but it was so worth it. I was having tests and a procedure at the clinic and being connected to the buildings made things so easy. The room service was also a great benefit. One thing I would like to see would be a microwave in the room. Overall it was an excellent stay and I will stay there again.
Despite the craziness of COVID - I felt the hotel did an amazing job with keeping us safe. The entire staff was warm and welcoming and made sure we were 100% taken care of. The rooms were immaculate and the food in the hotel was excellent. Despite the staff wearing masks - you could sense their sincerity and compassion. We were there for heart surgery and they made the entire experience so much more pleasant than expected. We appreciate their attention to detail and their ability to maintain a high level of service! We give them an A !
Im a retired female that doesnt travel much these days. That wasnt the case a few years back so I have experienced hotel accommodations. I had the opportunity to go to the Cleveland Clinic. I had never been to Cleveland. After researching the hotels in the area I chose the Intercontinental Hotel....what a smart choice! Its location is on the grounds of the clinic....it has an enclosed walkway to the clinic....it provides free shuttle service to the clinic...wheelchairs were available 24 - 7. The guest rooms were very up-to-date and comfortable. There are two restaurants that served excellent food....and oh yes, the room service is superb as well. The hotel hit Corona 19 head-on and addresses it very well. This hotel is outstanding!!!
Location is priceless... connects to Cleveland Clinic by skywalks... backside of hotel, rooms are much quieter.I was completely perplexed by the fact that there is no guide on the TV... it shows the channels... can’t see what shows are. . on... or what time they start without clicking every channel. That was very annoying from an upscale hotel. Not a lot of choices in eating options... Table 45 inside hotel is nice... a little pricey if you’ve got a long stay.Did not try breakfast, lunch cafe.Walked to Urban Kichen
The room was very clean. If I asked for anything I got it right away The only thing I am not happy about is the parking fee. I do not think it was necessary to charge me $30 every day when my car was only used one time in 13 days. They should have a cheaper price if they do not have to get your car every day. Other than that I was very happy and comfortable staying there.
I am a frequent guest (average once a month) due to health condition and medical appointments. I am always pleased with service and accommodations. Suggestions are reviewed and implemented. Comfortable rooms and great cleanliness standards. Kudos to room service always superior food and service. Staff always helpful.
First days I found out that my towels were not changed but they were folded like clean (was the same used ones ) after asking clean towels was fine the next days. I had very noisy neighbors, I reported and was taken care of. After two weeks of my staying I got it: you have to ask for cleaning towels, ask to be cleaned your room, ask for amenities. Was nice the location of the Hotel from the Cleveland Clinic where I was heding every day.
I was there for a wedding. Overall experience was absolutely wonderful. Only disappointment was when we came back to the hotel around 8:30 and decided to meet in Table 45 for drinks. When we got there, there was only one other table of about 5-6 people. We asked for appetizers and were told the kitchen closed at 10:00. At 11:00, the bar closed. I assume this had to do with COVID restrictions, however with only a few people there it was rather disappointing. $30/day for valet parking was a tad on the high side, too. Otherwise, this was the best hotel experience Ive had in years.
We stayed here while dropping our son off at college. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel and room were very clean, and the location was perfect for our needs. We had 2 meals in the restaurant; dinner and breakfast. I would highly recommend eating here.
Overcharged me on rate I was promised. I had to get new keys 8 of the 10 days we stayed there. No towels or garbage bags for 26 hours, even after calling front desk to tell the maid was supposed to bring some back and after they submitted a work order. Valet way over priced and the rooms are too. Price gouging hospital patients.
Chose this hotel in Cleveland OH to be in easy access to Cleveland Clinic Hospital. It was an easy walk across the skywalk to get to our appointment.Housekeeping staff neglected to put some of the coffee essentials in our room, and we had an extremely early doctor appointment, but the hotel staff made it right (without us asking). We would definitely stay there again (and hopefully for different reasons in the future!).
We are in Cleveland a lot for my sons health, this was our first time staying at this hotel, it is a bit pricey however, especially given the current climate this room was fantastically clean, the staff was very nice at check in. We had a little glitch with no towels in the room and someone brought towels right away. We decided this would be our hotel!
During this pandemic, we were apprehensive about staying in a hotel. When we entered the lobby, we were greeted by a staff member who directed us to a Touchless temperature checkpoint. Our check-in was conducted through a protective shield, ensuring safety for both us and the staff. The staff was well dressed and very courteous. When we entered our room, it was immaculate. We felt safe and comfortable. The room service we ordered for dinner was exceptional! The staff took wonderful care of us!
We really enjoyed the hotel I can honestly say it is the cleanest Room I have ever stayed in I even checked behind the bed very impressive. We ate at the restaurant the food was excellent. We enjoyed brunch upstairs also excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful we only had one smalle snaphu the bags containing are welcome gift for the wedding reception were never given to us unfortunately our names were not on the bags maybe that was part of the problem when we ask the staff about the bags they had no idea what we were talking about Unfortunately that caused a lot of confusion about where we when we were supposed to go when we were supposed to go and how we were supposed to go and unfortunately we missed the shuttle. It all worked out in the end and all in all Im incredibly happy with our stay PS we also had one drink in the bar and found the staff very kind and courteous
Our room was nice. Only issue was the tiny fridge. Could not even keep a bottle of water cool. We were charged for removing items from the mini-fridge that were already removed prior to our arrival. Upon checkout, requested an email receipt of our stay and it took three days and several hours on the phone to finally get the email receipt we requested.
The lobby is beautiful with fantastic flowers. The front desk person was very professional and prompt. The room was large and very clean, and the bed comfortable. The toiletries were above average. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Table 45. As I was a patient at the Cleveland Clinic I had to check out later than expected. They handled it nicely and did not charge me extra. I have to return in September and will definitely stay at the Intercontinental Hotel again.
Great stay the closeness to the Clinic was the main attraction. The staff were were super helpful. If you are looking for a lot to do and shop this is not the best option. Rides are hard to come by for foreigners with out of country cel phones. Ubber and Lyft will pick you up at the hotel but getting back is tough especially at rush hour. Taxis dont want to talk to you if you call, our concierge saved us one night by sending a taxi to come get us when the restaurant owner did not want to use his WI FI.
Friendly front desk staff, room service people on the tenth floor not very friendly. Bed is stiff. Some pillows feel like a rock. Table 42 breakfast - doesn’t offer non lactose milk !Shampoo and conditioner quality is so so. Shower tight and floor very slippery. Carpet needs shampooing. Pull down window shade needs to be replaced. Courteous concierge.
I was very impressed with the service from the staff, which included everything from being able to text the front desk at any time and extra goodies on my breakfast tray. Also they were very accommodating when I needed a later check out than expected due my appointments at Cleveland Clinic running late. Everyone was very courteous and friendly, the hotel was spotless and the staff all wore masks. I will certainly be staying here again next month when I return to the Clinic.
This hotel is way overpriced for what they claim to be. Handicap accessible room is small. Four visits and always promised pillows and blankets requested to be in room upon arrival but never are. Constant excuses and apologies by incompetent management and desk staff. Restaurant food is mediocre and way overpriced as well as drinks. Other local hotels have much larger rooms for less cost. We onky stay here for easy access to the Cleveland Clinic through the sky walk.
Enjoyed our stay here. So nice to use the Skywalk to get to appointments at Cleveland Clinic. Bed was really comfortable. Would have been nice to have a recliner in room for post surgery stay. Im sure alot of people stay here for medical reasons and would love a recliner too. Shower grout and caulking should be replaced.
This place went above and beyond for my grandmother. We requested a handicapped room for her wheelchair, but found that the bed was extremely high for her. Someone came in immediately and dismantled it while we went to dinner. The staff is super friendly, kind, and helpful. It’s a very short and convenient walk over the skyway from the hotel to the hospital. The rooms and general areas were clean, large and welcoming. We will stay here each time we come to Cleveland.
We love this place and it’s comforts. There was a little mold in our shower which could have been cleaned. We also had room service and our salmon in our salad had a row of bones that was scary to discover. Due to our intense busy schedule we did not report the food issue.
This hotel offered convenience for me due to needing access to the Cleveland Clinic without driving my care everyday. This was my primary choice for staying. The food in both restaurants were very good and the price both for the room and valet were reasonable all considered. I would stay here again should it become necessary.
The stay at the hotel was great -- a little more expensive than expected but we loved it. -- The only dinner restaurant in the hotel was disgusting. The food was expensive and not too good. I will never eat there again if I stay at the hotel. I wish the restaurant could have more choices. I have eaten there twice in my last two visits -- not good. The food was terrible and very expensive -- I do not mind paying the price if the food was edible--was edible but terrible. The chicken ordered was rather raw. Update that restaurant -- I know if gets good reviews -- why, I cannot understand. Is it true or fake reviews??
I felt the hotel overall was way over-priced as was their restaurant. For a hotel that is attached to a hospital/clinic, a lot of people could not afford to stay here. I stayed at another hotel in Rochester, NY for a quarter of the price and had just as nice accommodations. Way overpriced for a room to just sleep in, even being handicap accessible for 1 night here. I stayed at another hotel associated with a different hospital for 5 nights and had dinner there each night along with drinks, total cost was way less than it would have cost me here for 5 nights, like less than half.. Overpriced for a medical Hotel as far as Im concerned. Will stay farther out from now on.
The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and was accommodating as much as they could be during a pandemic. I think there were two things that were a bit unsatisfactory. I think the restaurant was way overpriced for the quality of food that they served. Ive been staying at the Intercontinental Cleveland every 3-6 months for a few nights every stay and the menu never changes. One evening there was over an hour and a half wait to get room service which was a bit inconvenient. Another thing that was disappointing was that there is no WiFi or internet service in the fitness center.
I’ve stayed here at least ten times and I’m always impressed. It’s such a relief to arrive at this destination knowing you will be well cared for. Many guests, like myself, are there solely for access to the Cleveland Clinic. The staff is acutely aware of your needs and they are always available to assist in anyway. With so many medical concerns on your mind, the hotel makes sure your stay will be free of worries.
Lovely room although heat was difficult to regulate as it was a corner room. It was set up for one (towels, etc.) even though I booked for two. The staff corrected it immediately and were very attentive. Best bed I’ve ever slept in; air even seemed humidified! Little things: I’’m not a fan of Keurig coffee, no real cream. So handy for visits to Cleveland Clinic. The room service food was very good and very, very expensive, but well served. We plan to return in a few weeks.
This was my second stay in 4 years for outpatient surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. My husband and I had excellent experiences with both stays. The hotel is gorgeous, well appointed and the staff is incredible. We couldnt have felt more welcome, comfortable and at home. We were on the club level which was extremely comfortable. We were able to pick up snacks, water and I could make tea and any time of the day or night. Breakfast was wonderful each morning. They provided a beautiful afternoon tea and/or douvres and cocktails each evening. It was such a positive experience that I would recommend it to anyone for any reason.
Our reason for staying at the Intercontinental was the convenience of being connected to the Cleveland Clinic. I had all day appointments that began early so using the skywalk was great. Also my husband was able to stay at the room instead of sitting in waiting rooms. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Friendly staff.
The hotel and staff do a great deal to keep the guest safe and while still having the personal touch with the guests. Staff are extremely pleasant and take time with each guest in a same manner. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Made for an overall great stay.
I can’t express enough how helpful and polite the staff was. Every single member we ran into was pleasant despite everything going on in the world which made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The room was beautiful and the windows even opened which I haven’t experienced at most hotels, but I enjoyed. Can always use some fresh air. The room and entire hotel was sparkling clean and beautiful. But what made the stay was honestly just how nice the staff was. Even the parking garage attendant had a great attitude and seemed to enjoy his job.
Frankly, we were disappointed; our room was quite ordinary-- not at all what I would expect from a luxury hotel. Room service was terrific, but the room was cold, the pillows gave almost no support, and wear-and-tear was evident throughout. It served our needs: its a short walk to the Clinic. But beyond that theres little to recommend.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable rooms with the basic amenities one would expect at the price point (coffee maker, etc.); and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. All rooms should have HDTVs for the price paid. The only dining option available in the evening was expensive. Valet parking only, which is also expensive. However, Im sure this is all a necessary evil because the hotel is adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic and some guests are likely a wealthier, international clientele. I booked an overnight stay because I had a very early appointment at the Cleveland Clinic and didnt want to make a long, early morning drive to the clinic. A skybridge connects the hotel to the clinic making it a relatively easy walk to appointments. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend staying there if you can afford the price.
The cost to stay at this hotel for 2 nights was an exorbitant amount. We booked with the convenience of having the hotel connected to the clinic. I had to be at the surgery center at 5:30 am and let me tell this is not convenient. Also, I thought for the price, this would have at least included a mini fridge in the room...we brought some small refrigerated items for after the surgery and had to be thrown out because we had no where to place them.
Having appointments at the Cleveland Clinic, we stayed several times during the past two months. We enjoyed area restaurants, shops and museums.. We stayed on the Club level, and found the hosts to be delightful and knowledgeable about the area. The small dishes were very good, and the macaroons were better than mine!
I can’t say enough about how wonderful the hotel and staff are. I have stayed there many times - I come every 6 months. Each visit is met with a consistently friendly and helpful staff who go above and beyond! Starting with the valet service to the front desk, the bellmen, concierge and hospitality, etc. The rooms are always very clean. The most recent stay I was lucky enough to get an upgrade due to room availability. Now I’m a bit spoiled. While it may be pricey the convenience and atmosphere out weigh the cost especially as a patient of the Cleveland Clinic. One wish would be a special parking rate for those there on medical stays. Personally, I’m thrilled there is room service. The menu is preferable to that of the restaurant. Everything ordered has been delicious and delivered with 5 star service. It can get costly but again my priority is convenience when I am there. So yes, I highly recommend this hotel.
Due to the covid 19 shutdown of Cleveland Clinic, the hotel we normally stay at remained closed and we were put at this hotel. Due to my daughters special needs medically, we do not fit in this hotel as they didnt have things she needed. We had problems with the room, etc. The hotel was very helpful and made sure that she had everything we needed for her dialysis machine and other medical things. The hotel staff adapted our room, made sure it was clean to dialysis specifications and checked on us multiple times to make sure we had what we needed and were comfortable. The staff was nice, kind and sincere and even helped us with delivery issues of her dialysis supplies, which they did not have to do. Despite all the things this hotel is now required to do due to the covid 19, they still made sure we had what we needed. Our room was cleaned when we requested it, which gave them a small time frame between her clinic appointments, to get it done. What could have been a HUGE disaster and more stress for me, the hotel staff made sure we had everything we needed and were clean and comfortable! I knew we could count on them and that relieved a lot of stress from me! I want to especially thank Ian, Michael and LaKeisha for making this stay clean and comfortable and making sure all my daughters special medical needs were met! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone! They are kind and caring to all guests there!
Seriously a perfect place to stay in conjunction with medical services at The Cleveland Clinic. Staff is amazing, caring, knowledgeable and helpful. Its a beautiful facility w/gift shop, Cafe, restaurant & valet parking. The skyway walkway gets us wherever we need to be on all directions.
We stayed while my wife received care at the Cleveland clinic. The hotel was beautiful. Staff was super helpful. Hotel breakfast restaurant is pricey, but the food is excellent. Room and beds were very comfortable. The shuttle service was handy to get to clinic buildings for appointments.
Great location and ease of access to the clinic. Staff made a trying and difficult time easier and we always felt any concerns or needs were met with a genuine concern and helpful attitude. Very clean and sanitizer everywhere. Higher rates were worth the comfort and convenience and great staff.
I enjoyed my stay very much. The only difficulty I had was getting into bed. I had a handicapped room and felt the bed was way too high. I am 5’4” and had to work my way onto the bed with a chair that had to be held onto while I struggled to get into bed. I felt it to be odd for a handicapped room. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. I will be returning after the first of the year for additional tests at the Cleveland Clinic. Hopefully we will be able to remedy the bed problem. Thank you and see you next year. Jacqueline
I recently stayed at the Intercontinental in Cleveland OH. Checking in process was quick and clerk was courteous Lobby clean and visually pleasing however once the elevator doors opened on the 9th floor the overpowering stench of urine, resembling a nursing home smell, smacked us in the face. As we walked down the hall there were several bleached spots in the carpet. Once we arrived in the room we were greeted by a large dried bugger waiting for us on the washcloth that was neatly rolled on the counter.
Most often we have a wonderful experience in our stay at the Cleveland Intercontinental but this time our bed was uncomfortable so sleep was short coming. We also had noise problems with our next door neighbors, which has never happened! In talking with the front desk all we needed to do is call them and they would have talked to them. When they say Customer Care, they mean it.
In terms of accessibility to the Clinic, this was a fantastic choice. We were able to walk to everywhere we needed to be in less than ten minutes. Most app’ts were within five minutes walk. The Table 45 restaurant staff in particular were incredibly nice, professional and attentive. Unfortunately the hotel needs to update it’s sheets and duvet. Felt like sleeping in a plastic wrapper. Tht was the only criticism though. Everything else was downright enjoyable. Which is saying a lot given the nature of the visit.
We have stayed at this property twice, as well as other Intercontinental Hotel properties. Generally speaking, the facility is really nice, well designed and decorated, etc. However, I use a wheelchair, asked for an ADA room which contained some ADA features (grab bars which were poorly located, a roll in shower, but the door got stuck after opened a couple of feet) and a bed that was probably 3 1/2 feet off the ground, which is extraordinarily hard to get in and out of when you cannot take a step without assistance let alone lift your self off the ground. So even though the room had those features, they didnt really work in a real-world situation i.e. poorly located grab bars make getting in and out of the shower hard, very tall bed makes getting in and out of it very hard, the one handicap stall in the downstairs mens room outside of the restaurant being out of service meant using stalls without grab bars, also very hard, or going back to the room. Not a big deal if you are an able-bodied person. More so if you are not All of those things made it very uncomfortable as a result. Also, most of the staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, except for the restaurant manager who made a weirdly flippant remark to us for no good reason. We ate there twice, had drinks another night, the food was pricey but good, all tainted by the weird offhand remark. It is not inexpensive to stay there, but the first trip merited the cost. The second trip did not.
The check in was very prompt and impressive, Han did a very good job and made us feel welcomed. The high standard of room cleanliness amazed us. Pretty much spotless on table and carpet. Very impressive of keeping it organized. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Food and service were amazing. The only thing was the checkout had a bit of a hiccup as I noticed our dining credits through staycation package was not deducted on the bill so I had to go back in to remind the front desk for it. He did handle it after I reminded him. Just hope employees can be more careful next time to avoid customers having to follow up. Other than that this was an excellent stay and we will stay here again if we go to Cleveland.
Beds were comfortable, room was well-appointed (although my husband had to connect the electric cords for the desk -- a big task because they were hidden), staff was helpful and courteous, room is quiet. There were limitations because of Covid restrictioins --- for example room was not cleaned nor were towels refreshed during our 4 night/3 day stay.
This very new Intercontinental lives up to its standards.Extremely comfortable and Spacious junior suite has everything you need to enjoy your stay.Restaurants are excellent, enjoyed a fine room service dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Maybe the best poached eggs ever.
The convince of the poperty location to Cleveland Clinic is the real draw for us. In addition, the hotel is very clean and I’m comfortable staying at the property . The rooms are very nice and they are very clean. We have stayed several times over the past few months. The skywalk is very nice and provides a safe and comfortable travel from the hotel to Cleveland Clinic.
Everything was fantastic, got great service for stuff like extra pillows, creative COVID housekeeping consideration (was there for bypass surgery at CC).My only criticism is a matter of taste. The rooms are quite modern-bland. Didn’t feel like it was a special/memorable place. They are very large and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed, but maybe not wowed.
What a lovely stay for a conference. The bathroom was so very enjoyable and a long soak is highly recommended. I loved having turn down service and the bottle of water was most appreciated when returning to the room for the night. The room temperature was perfect and the ambient noise was minimal. The sheet were a little too crisp for my personal preference but you certainly knew they were clean. The room amenities were lovely and the lemon verbena scent was refreshing in the morning. And I absolutely loved having Q-Tips!!I loved how the staff addressed me by name when I had my name badge on - such a nice touch. My only negative was the service I received in Table 45. As a solo diner, I felt like I was totally ignored. The waitress greeted me and took my order, but I didnt see her again. Someone else brought out my food. Someone offered me bread with my sushi (odd) and it was she I had to ask for chop sticks and soy sauce. No one came to refill my water glass the entire meal. No one checked to see if I liked my meal (I did very much), and it took a very long time to finally get my bill. I would have expected more as everything else was well above par!!
I use this hotel when I visit the Cleveland Clinic as a patient. We are very grateful that this high quality hotel is connected to the Clinic. The high standards here are equal to the high standards of the Cleveland Clinic. It makes for a seamless (and therefore, calming) experience. My wife has had extended stays and finds the Intercontinental a refuge.
We stay because of my medical appointments every 3 to 4 months. Everyone isbalways wonderful and goes out of their way to help. From late check outs to bellhop and valet help. The extra precautions during covid is so much appreciated. We where nervous but the whole hotel goes out of their way to ensure your safty.
My husband had an early appointment at the Cleveland Clinic. We arrived late which was no problem for the hotel. Our room was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. Temperature of the room was good. We had purchased breakfast with the room, and were delighted with the choices they offered. This hotel is connected with the Cleveland Clinic and we exited to the sky walk and were at our appointment in just a few minutes and could not have been more convenient or lovely.
I had just driven 6 straight hours, then prepped at Cleveland Clinic for a liver transplant, received notice that the donor liver was no good, checked out of the five hour hospital stay then wweent to my room. The vehicle valet was extremely helpful and courteous, the front desk was tha same. At 2 AM my adrenaline was in full bloom and anything could have set me off. My wife had checked in earlier so our room was ready. I just needed to get the bags up to yhe room and get a room key. The staff was wonderful. Although I was relaxed, I didnt sleep a wink. Check our was equally smooth. Sometimes you just need a room without any necessary wasteful conversation. The staff was perfect. With the exception of not receiving a new liver, the evening was nice. Please thank the hotel staff for me. I was completely satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel for any occasion. Mark.
Unfortunately, on the night of our stay, the hotel had MAJOR issues with its television streaming service and we were unable to smoothly watch the AFC KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VICTORY. I realize this is a first world problem, but in my opinion, it is unacceptable for a hotel in this price and reputation category to have spotty wifi. The management gave us a free breakfast and basically said there was nothing they could do about it. WHAT?!? Im guessing Im not the only guest who had a pretty frustrating evening. Needless to say, next time we will stay elsewhere. Additionally, the sheets and pillows were not at the quality that I would have expected. The sheets were scratchy and the pillows were just plain awful. Weve had much better experiences for about half the price. Lesson learned.
This hotel is clean, comfortable and connected to the Skyway, which helps you get to many doctor appointments and fast food restaurants without going outside. The staff is friendly, but many of them are not informed about the area. Valets are very friendly, but do not speak English very well.
From David in Concierge Desk before arrival making it possible for us to get to our hotel safely from airport due to no TAXI available due to snow showers. To all the ladies at the Club lounge so sweet and caring. Restaurant staff, bell service. Every person our paths came across with, exceeded our expectations. Considering when you stay in a hotel like this one, it is obvious that we or someone we love, are going through very difficult times. The service extended by the staff helps us all get through it all with ease in hearts. Thank YOU
We pay a little more to stay right at the hospital, but it is worth it because the Intercontinental never disappoints. Very solid, consistent, not luxury, but nice. Especially enjoy Table 45 and the bar area. Staff have been there for years. Being greeted by Chris and John is always a pleasant part of our stay.
I stayed at the Intercontinental Cleveland for 10 days while my husband had cardiac surgery at the Cleveland clinic. It is so convenient due to the skywalk which connects the hotel to the hospital. I never had to go outside in the sub freezing weather. The hotel and staff are wonderful. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Beds were comfortable. The club level was amazing. The club lounge staff was extremely friendly. Antoinnette made our stay that much better. She helped us check into our room as soon as it was cleaned. She really cares for all the guests. She even wrote a get well card to my husband. She was a comforting fixture during a very stressful time. I did have to do laundry halfway through our stay. The prices were exorbitant I’m not sure why a pair of underwear or socks or $3.50 each to launder. Other than that I have no complaints.
We loved this place when we visited a couple years ago. It was truly a memorable experience. However on our last stay, we didn’t enjoy it at all. Staff looked super stressed and not happy. Had to mentioned my status to hear a thank you, waited too long for our waitress to put in our food order, no good upgrade, it was just okay.
I was there as a result of appointments for a friend at Cleveland Clinic. The front desk staff welcomed with a beautiful smile and a “Welcome back to the Intercontinental “. Extremely obliging with an early check in (which I know is not always available). Was so appreciated since I had driven 4 hours to the 10 am doctor’s appointment. Had one incident...the heat would not turn down in the room...notified front desk when we went off to our 2:30 appointment and it was working perfectly when we returned. I feel The Intercontinental is home away from home. Very comfortable in all aspects of my stay.
The Intercontinental Hotel Cleveland is a wonderful facility with an exceptional staff. You are treated as more than a guest. We have stayed many times and have never experienced a problem. This will be the best overall stay at a hotel you will ever have. The Club Lounge is a great experience and the three ladies taking care of you are fantastic. Bernadette, Anntoinette, and Monica take care of everything you may need as far as breakfast, high tea, and cocktail hours.
My husband had a major cardiac procedure at the Cleveland Clinic. We stayed there because of the extremely convienent access to the hospital from the hotel. This was important to us because he was in a wheelchair, and, when his was an inpatient, I could safely go back and forth from the hospital by myself (an older woman) to hotel even at nignt.
My wife was a patient at Cleveland Clinic and this hotel is very convenient for that purpose. Staff was excellent and hotel amenities would be a good value at 1/3 the cost per night. The hotel is comfortable and convenient but fairly average. Our stay coincided with other events and the only rooms available were overpriced for the value in my opinion.
The hotel was excellent in all aspects during our stay. I was at Cleveland Clinic for bypass surgery and my wife felt comfortable and safe at all times. This was the first time we had stayed at a a hotel during the virus but always felt the staff was following all health rules.
This was just a quick visit overnight with my wife and young son. This was our first visit to the City and this hotel. I must say, we cannot wait to come back. The staff was extremely polite from the valet to the front desk to the members lounge to room service. I have had room service before and I have never been asked by the employee for my permission to enter the room with the food. It was nice. The lounge was a wonderful perk. First time enjoying that as well and the ladies that worked the desk were very nice and put up with my 1 year old running around with the tv remote (only when we were there alone). Always had a smile on their face and VERY easy to talk to. The only con that I can think of is the location of the hotel itself. It is right next door to the Cleveland Clinic which is great! But, it is not next to anything else within walking distance. Some of the neighborhoods are a little sketchy but a 10-15 minute drive and you are downtown.
I stay frequently as a patient with Cleveland clinic. Reservation customer service not knowledgeable with customer client status, difficult process.Staff not welcoming, not informed on ambassador level services. Guest and bell services not up to standard. Had to have several items corrected on bill.Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay.
This is very convenient for the Cleveland Clinics main campus. Shuttles come by every few minutes as well. The staff is friendly and cooperative. Even during this crazy Covid stuff, I felt safe. There was a minor problem with maid service but the staff addressed this immediately. A very nice short stay and Im planning on going back for my next visit to the Cleveland Clinic. Id love to see this place without the crazy covid days stuff.... maybe someday!
Its a nice hotel (although the stark white paint on everything is a little much), comfortable bed, very clean (should be, its attached to Cleveland Clinic).Valet service was a little over-eager to get us out of our car (we were the only car there) and we ended up leaving something in the car because we were rushed. The bathroom fixtures are old and need some work. Hot water handle fell off the tub, shower head is pretty clogged and doesnt have good flow, toilet flush was sporadic, sink drained a little slow. Was annoyed by the super-small fridge... more than 1/2 of the fridge was taken up by the mini-bar portion, making it hard to actually use the fridge for anything useful. I really wish hotels with full-service restaurants and room-service would do away with the outrageously priced mini-bar. If you really want to sell me a snickers bar for $5, then stick it in a vending machine. If you really want to sell me a shot of Jack Daniels, then Ill order it from room service.
The staff is paying attention to Covid 19 issues and forgot about cleaning the room. The areas behind the bed were disgusting, the shower had black mold and I have photographs to prove how dirty the place is. The hallways are filthy and some of the carpeting is threadbare.
We traveled through Cleveland on our way to Cedar Point for the closing Halloween weekend and had never stayed in Cleveland before. The property is located in the heart of the Cleveland Clinic campus and offers valet parking, which was ideal for our rental car. The 2 queen room was HUGE and the bathroom had its own tub. Everything was new, sanitized, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my special requests. We ordered room service for breakfast, which was delicious.
Small things added up to a less than stellar experience: a light housing was broken, toiletries werent restocked, the coffee wasnt restocked and mugs not replaced with clean ones, we were missing one of the bed benches, items on the menu were no longer available (update the menu!), the remote was broken (check it before you leave it in the room)...just a lot of little things. Since they were only cleaning the room every 3 days, details like this shouldnt be missed.
We loved our stay! The hotel is so welcoming the moment you pull up to the entrance. The lobby is pleasant and creatively decorated . People at the front desk are accommodating and friendly. We requested a room close to the elevator due to my difficulty walking and we were accommodated accordingly. The bathroom was immaculate and the room itself was neat and clean. Very inviting! My only negative comment was the way the bed was made. The bottom sheet was not pulled tight and was uncomfortable being super wrinkled and bunched . But these sheets were so fresh and clean and ironed beautifully. My “complaint” can easily be handled. My hotel stay was an absolute pleasure.
The hotel is very nice amenities etc. The valets could stand a few customer service classes like a semesters worth, that also seems to be the need with valets at the Crile bldg. (A) and the main entrance for the hospital. Some are rude and have negative attitudes and come across as if they dont want to br bothered.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming from the time I checked in. Most of the staff acknowledged me by name which was impressive. The room and the facilities were very clean. If I have any criticism, it would be two things: The hotel should use real coffee cups/mugs and also real glasses. The paper and plastic cups look really out of place with the luxurious feel of the rest of the hotel. Also, the fitness center could use a little attention. A lot of the machines were out of order. Also, there is no WiFi in the fitness center so its extremely difficult to get any kind of signal while there.
I was visiting a parent at the Cleveland Clinic, and I was so worried about booking a hotel on top of everything else. The staff made this such a worry-free experience, and it was very easy to check in and out, and to alter my reservation for whatever I needed. Definitely pricey, but I was very comfortable in between my times at the hospital, and I knew I was coming back somewhere clean and comfortable at the end of the day.
We had an issue with a used Kleenex in the bathroom sink upon arrival. We were given option of a new report, which we did except. I asked for a late check out, while waiting for my mother to be released from the Clinic. I had gone to visit her in the am but came back to the room to relax. The room had already been cleaned. I had to use the restroom. I told the employee in the hall but not confident that the room was recleaned after I left.
Enjoyed a two day stay during Covid 19, while my son had a procedure at the Cleveland Clinic. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. The room service food was delicious and the room was quiet and comfortable. Overall it was a nice stay during a stressful and scary time in our lives. It was a comfort to have our room to wait in and come back to after an initial four hours of travel.
With the hotel being connected to the hospital via a skywalk, it was so convenient. that combined with the quality of the hotel lobby, room, staff, room service, I was VERY pleased with the InterContinental. Would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Cleveland, and especially for anyone visiting the Cleveland Clinic.
I felt underdressed at arrival, but when I entered, the Front Desk and Concierge were welcoming and when I entered the room, I felt like I entered a suite, not a regular room.My roommate and I were at the American Royal Beauties Pageant held there at the Cleveland Clinic location and all of us at the pageant shared the same feelings-we were treated LIKE royalty, if we needed anything-no matter how small the need, we had it. We were treated wonderfully and I wish I could have done something for all the staff that were helpful to us and think Christmas will be the perfect time.
I had two surgeries during my recent stay. The hotel is super convenient, and the staff did everything possible to keep my daughter and I safe from the virus and to accomodate our needs. The club level was really helpful as I did not feel up to going to a restaurant. It provided light food and drinks for us.
Melissa, Terri, and Rachel were AMAZING. They exceeded my expectations here at the hotel. They provided the best customer service and so had the staff. Everyone treated us so well! Thank you to all who made our wedding so memorable! I will definitely be recommending not just as a 5star hotel but a 5 star venue! Thank you!!

2021-12-16Had the awesome opportunity to stay at Intercontinental Cleveland. Has an doctors appointment at Cleveland Clinic. From the time I arrived I was greeted by a wonderful, professional young woman named Michelle Levia at the registration desk. Because I had an important clinic appointment before the 4pm check in time, I had previously requested an early check in. Michele was pleasant, concerned, courteous and able to accommodate me, thank God. Even the gentleman who brought my dinner up was courteous, professional and polished. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, clean, sanitized, even the TV remote was sealed in a plastic bag. If ever I return to Cleveland, this will be my place to stay. Would highly recommend this hotel and hope you get a change to meet Michele, a definite asset to the Intercontinental

2022-02-15If you are having procedures at Cleveland Clinic this is the perfect place to stay. They have valet along with the hotel. Leave your car and you are withing walking distance of everything in the main campus as well as dr offices. The staff here are phenomenal. The lounge area is nice. Everyone has been so helpful with all my needs as well. Did not encounter anyone rude this stay either.

2022-05-13We stay here because it is convenient to walk to the Cleveland Clinic. We stayed here for about one month. The front desk folks were extremely accommodating and friendly. Everything you would expect from a five star hotel. Housekeeping rolled around every three days, so we were always running out of towels and emptying our own trash. We left substantial tips but that did not help, unfortunately. We dined at Table 45 and North Coast frequently. We dined on the entire menu at both restaurants. We had one bad experience with an incompetent waitress at the North Coast but never saw her again. Ill call that a win. The hostess at the North Coast is professional in dress and conduct. Table 45s food and service are five stars every single time. I wish the menu would vary a bit with daily specials however. Unfortunately the Albanian hostess did not dress or act professionally. She wore black tights and tried to walk seductively. She flirted with male guests and gave them the best tables. Older, sick guests like us were given the worst tables even when we asked for better ones. Hopefully she will achieve her goal and snag a sugar daddy soon. It will be nice to see the male maiitre d again or the hostess from the North Coast.

2022-05-06This is a clean very conveniently located hotel if you are a medical tourist at Cleveland Clinic. It’s an all indoor 5 minute walk to the clinic. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have free coffee in the lobby in the morning. My husband had open heart surgery and I could easily walk back and forth several times a day as needed. Table 45 had great food for a suitable nice meal the day before his surgery.

2022-05-01The location of this hotel is unbeatable if you have a loved one at The Cleveland Clinic. It feels very safe with access to the clinic via a Skywalk. I have stayed here in the dead of Winter, and never had to go outside. The menu was not at all appealing to me - and has declined since my last stay in 2020. Need more items that would appeal to a person traveling alone who is under a lot of stress.

2022-05-03Fourth time we’ve stayed here for visit to Cleveland Clinic. Never disappointed and hotel took appropriate measures to protect guests from covid19. Only disappointment was our room overlooked the back of the hotel and wevwere awakened by helicopters making landings at Cleveland Clinic and later a massive police chase on the street below

2022-03-22Simply a very positive experience- every time. The cuisine is 5 star. The courtesy and professionalism just wonderful. Ive stayed several times now as I attend medical appointments at The Cleveland Clinic.Complication in my stay is the last thing I want. They dont disappoint. Again, stellar food. First class. Im not a foodie snoot (really Im not lol), but Ive owned a five star restaurant. Lets just say... discerning. Tellin ya- great food.I HAVE to add a con, I guess. The room décor is a bit dated.

2021-12-01I stayed at the intercontinental hotel and resort Cleveland for just one night. Luckily, the club lounge was open and I enjoyed the club lounge service. The room was clean and nice. However, the most of staff members at the front desk are recently hired so they couldnt guide me for the spire ambassador benefits such as a guaranteed late check-out, bar and restaurant credit, drink coupon, room upgrade, etc. I personally pulled up my elite membership benefits page on my phone and went through with the staff members. It would be great if they can get training for that. Other than that, the check-in and check-out process was perfect and also addressed my request immediately.
