This restaurant is just a block off of the main drag, Cin-Day Rd, so you are not likely to spot it unless you are trying... You should try! Very clean, well staffed with friendly people, the food is the best Indian cuisine that Ive had. And, there is steak on the menu (see my picture) my wife ordered the rib eye, and our whole family got to sample it. All votes were that it was awesome! I had Lamb Saag, my favorite Indian dish, it was the best that Ive ever had.
Absolutely amazing! First time going and I was the first customer before lunch rush and they paid very close attention. When they brought the food out, the smell alone was magical. Everything was absolutely divine, and their mint chutney is the best Ive ever tasted! 11/10 would recommend
They charge $32 dollars service free.they never service I ask about that what service free they told me service free when you it dining youd closed and washing Landry charge and paper napkins changes. Never napkins in table and when you go restroom toilet paper charge. I never go back again and tell everyone and my relatives thanks.
You’ve got to try this amazing gem in Liberty Township. The food and service are absolutely amazing. Authentic Indian cuisine with a few unexpected twists. And don’t be surprised if the chef pays you a visit to ask about your meal. Well done Indian spice train, well done
Order from here regularly. Food is outstanding - among the best Indian you will find anywhere. Highly recommend the Shorba (think Curry soup with chicken & rice) and Chicken Tikka Masala. Why only 4 stars instead of 5? Several times I’ve called a full hour before closing & been told they’re no longer taking any more carry out orders for the day. Should update their hours if they’re not going to take orders. I suggest ordering before 8pm if you want takeout. Also, their prices have gone up A LOT over the last 6 months. I understand inflation is impacting everyone right now, but numerous items on the menu are ~25% more expensive than they were earlier this year. That said, still recommended because despite the above annoyances, the food is excellent.
This place is amazing! Definitely my new go to for a nice night out. There was a mini live band just vibing with their bass and guitar. The food was definitely the best food Ive ever had anywhere in my entire life. The server was so helpful and nice. The portions are enough to feed two people and I have plenty for leftovers. I dont think Ive had a better experience at a restaurant!! :)
Shika was our server and she did a fantastic job recommending food! I had the chicken tikka masala with paneer and the garlic naan. It was wonderful! I also had the homemade ice cream. My friends and I split the mango and pistachio. So yummy! I will definitely be back!
We went here for lunch after a morning at Top Golf. The server was really helpful and nice and explained the dishes to us since it was our first time there. The aroma in the restaurant was fantastic! I am a vegetarian so I appreciated the large offering of menu items. Food was outstanding. Well definitely go back.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant, in fact ,one of overall favorite restaurants in the area. This experience was particularly special. It was our 49th anniversary and our out-of-town daughter arranged for a gift card with the Spice Train and the owner personally delivered it to our home. We called in the order for pickup and the food was wonderful, I had the rack of lamb and my wife enjoyed the Lamb Marsala. They included a special ice cream desert for our anniversary which was considerate. We also tried one of the veterinarian dishes which we usually do and share as a side dish. The menu is much more expansive than other Indian Restaurant and the service always professional and attentive. The carryout was well organized and packaged. The management is always willing to explain different dishes so if you are new to Indian cuisine this is a great place to start a uniquely pleasant experience.
I’m reposting this from Yelp because I spent $36 on food for myself and am still hungry and have nothing better to do. No I don’t mean “not full” or “satiated”. I mean, I literally spent $36 at an Indian restaurant *with a snack beforehand* and am still looking to eat something before bed so I can rest peacefully. Read on if you want to know how this is possible. OK, repost time:So the vast, vast majority of my reviews are positive. But this was outstanding. I ordered the chefs sampler, $30 + $6 tip for pick up at 9:15. I get a call at 8:41that it is ready and they couldnt make it spicy as requested and theres no way for me to get there while food is hot. Ok, ok, normally I dont Complain about this. So the last pick up time is 9:30. I get it. You want to close the kitchen early. Maybe the owner would disapprove of the lack of work ethic, but if its slow, its slow. Never would have gotten to review mode at this point.I go to pick up my $36s worth of food and am super confused. The lady says thats yours. Its less than a pound and in a containers smaller than my hand. For reference, my hands are slightly smaller than average for a man. Average at most. If I went to a *very good* Indian buffet and got a container, it would be twice as large and Id pay $9 + 2.50 tip. Its one container only.Ok ok Im not freaking out. Maybe the food quality is exceptional *even though* *i knoooow* no Indian restaurant worth their salt would not serve two of the three sample dishes without basmati rice with aromatic cumin seed mixed in. Im chill. Maybe its amazing. Then I get home and unwrap my small foam tray.So its mostly tin foil :( see the pictures. First chicken dish looks like vomit. Im not so much of a foodie that presentation counts for more than 5%, but damn, have some pride come man!. Anyway the sauce is pretty good, but that is some bland chicken underneath it. And a fifth of it is indestructible gristle. Second dish is lamb. OK, now I understand how this is more than $14 with mark up.... except it is overcooked. Flavor is still good, so Im not one starring. Third dish is a pretty decent chili chicken-like. There was nothing wrong with the three bites except it lacked RICE or at least some garlic naan. Jeez. And of course when Im done eating, most of the sauce and a lot of the onions are left in the crumpled tin foil. So I spent $36 and I am nowhere close to full.
After reaching out to the restaurant via email about vegan dishes I received a response first thing the next morning.Stopped in for a carryout dinner. I ordered the vegetable Kofta, konkani goa, vegetable biryani as well as roti. All were fantastic. And I mean FANTASTIC.Will definitely be returning. Restaurant looked clean, staff was friendly and the food was ready in 15 mins.
Had a great experience here with a friend, each of us ordering different dishes and splitting a garlic naan. The saag paneer was excellently rich from the cheese and a great veggie heavy sauce. The lamb with eggplant had layers of flavor and large chunks of lamb. garlic naan probably killed a few vampires, and the staff were super friendly. What more could you want?
My husband and I went to Indian Spice Train with 2 of our dear friends. The food, service and restaurant were wonderful. We most definitely will make this a frequent place to eat. I highly recommend this restaurant. All of the food was very well presented and was delicious. Very generous servings and we were able to take some home as well. Don’t miss eating at this lovely restaurant!
A friend recommended we try Indian Spice Train because it is his favorite Indian food in town. We decided to try it out on our date night to celebrate our anniversary. It was LOVELY. The interior was lux but still classy... tablecloths, cloth napkins, candles, etc. Service was excellent with great suggestions. Cocktails were nicely balanced and pretty, too. Dinner was delicious with a visit from the chef. The staff made us feel so welcome! I’ve heard their wine pairing nights are great fun, too. Don’t be fooled by it’s tucked away location. A treasure, indeed.
Top notch! Hidden gem! This place has fresh, vibrant flavors tailored to your spice level. Great lunch menu. Great dinner menu. Finally, an Indian restaurant that does not do the lunch buffet same old same old. They care about your dining experience. If you have a bad experience here, you didnt speak up when asked how is everything. Keep up the great work.
Pros:-Fast service-great food, the rice is perfectly fluffy and the Naan is great too-friendly staff/managers-reasonably pricedCons:-not open all day-spice scale is a little inconsistent. I order at a level 10 and its still not as hot as I like it sometimes, however I do have a high heat toleranceBest Indian food in the area in my opinion. Great spot for date night, and theyre not ever really crowded.
My husband and I had dinner here recently and it was phenomenal. We cannot stop talking about it! This was our first time at indian spice train. Kudos to the owner and the rest of the staff for providing us with not only an absolutely delicious and authentic meal, but fantastic service as well. We will most definitely be back soon!
I ate here with my kids a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the Indian food near me is not really all that good from the menu. India Spice Train was very clean and the server was friendly. The prices were a bit higher, so my expectation was this would be better than the other Indian places in the area. We were not let down! I got the Malai Kofta and it had a great balance of spices, very good. I requested heat level 5 out of 10 to see where their middle is and it was exactly what I expected it to be. My daughter got the Mango Sauce dish with shrimp and it was really good, the sauce is perfect. My son got a lamb curry and it too was a solid dish. He said it was the best hes had. Naan was delicious, especially the fruit naan. They also have a full bar, however, this is where I wasnt 100% satisfied. I ordered a French 75. The drink was good, so I wont take away a star, but the price was a bit too high, probably could have taken it down $2-3. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely be going back! I want to try their tandoori cooked ribeye.
The food was awesome and exceptional.I have tried several Indian restaurants in Ohio. But I will put this place on the top.And the spicy level was in the exact level that it should be. I really liked.Dont go for higher spicy levels if you cant bear it. Because it wont be same as other places.
This is my very favorite place. The food is delicious, and can be spiced to your desired level. This is Indian fine dining at its best. The menu has something for everyone, and one can have parties and groups here as well. There is a full bar, and you can get your favorite cocktail. I will never tire of patronizing this restaurant!
This restaurant is a hidden gem! I cant believe weve been in the area for 2.5 years and we just found it. Im over that way all the time and never knew that it was there. Perhaps a sign closer to Cin-Day road may bring more customers. Nice atmosphere and the food was the best Indian food Ive had. We had Chicken Saag. It was flavorful and spicy like we like it. We asked for a level 8 on the 1-10 scale and it didnt disappoint. We will return and I will recommend it for sure.
We came to celebrate a birthday. The menu was on the pricy side so we thought it was going to be great but the quality wasn’t better than any other cheap Indian Cuisine. The naan was average. The service was just okay. The table was tiny. The whole restaurant was mostly empty. It wasn’t a great first impression. Not sure if we will ever come back.
I wish I could have shared a pic but the food was too good to wait 🤣. Really quick service for a few signature dishes, their own take of Chicken 65 and out of this world Lab Chops. This is not your average Indian restaurant with their new menu items it wont be long till Im back to try something new. Very interested to see how the Konkani(Goan) curry will be as I have a special place for that cusine.
If you want to eat authentic and quality Indian food this is the place to go. We have been going there since the restaurant opened few years back.We recently had a get together of over 20 people and pre ordered the food. As soon as we reached the food for kids was served, which goes to show the level of thought and organization of the place.Everything that we ordered tasted great. The service has always exceeded expectations.Tomato soup, Lamb wrap, Afgani kabab are my favorites. They have great chats too.All in all a fantastic place and experience.
The food was delicious and generously portioned. I had the Tandoori ribeye while my wife had a chicken vindaloo. The heat is scaled from 1 to 10 and seemed to be accurate (e.g., a 4 tasted how I would expect). The naan was delicious and very fresh, with a choice of 6 or 8 different flavors. The service was adequate and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The chef checked on us personally and was very friendly. Budget $20-$30 person for dinner. The bar was well stocked with a surprising selection of Scotch varieties, as well a decent wine selection.
Great food! While the menu is a common set of Indian dishes, they are each truly unique and individually seasoned, cooked and flavored. No generic put frozen sauce on the same ingredients. These are clearly each unique recipes -- our favorite Indian restaurant in the northern Cincinnati suburbs.
I had a wonderful experience with Indian Spice Train because the food its preparation and taste was good and even the style of serving the food was also good than other restaurants. I visited Indian Spice Train many a time and every time my experience was unique. Even my daughter enjoyed the food. I am a vegetarian lady and I found a lot of delicious veg food.I really appreciate the effort of Mr. Mike and his dedication to serve his customers efficientlyReally such a wonderful experience.
Id probably give it five stars if this wasnt my fist time having Indian food. Staff was very friendly. Place was clean and tidy. Food was pretty good. The old fashioned I had barely had any bourbon but it is what it is. There were 14 of us and everyones orders were perfect. I will go back soon.
This place is a hidden gem. The place has great ambiance. The food is very delicious and freshly cooked. The owner came to our table himself couple of times asking if everything was okay, how was the food. You don’t get to see that much care that often.100% recommended.
I have never been to an Indian restaurant before, this place is amazing! I ordered Shorba (Id highly recommend) it is in the soup section, so much flavor... so delicious, I also ordered Tikka Masala which is basically the same thing as the Shorba but the rice is not mixed into it, it comes separate, this meal is seriously the best Ive had in a very long time, I regret not taking pictures to show how amazing it looked, they were both bursting with flavor, I did a heat level of 4 which was pretty mild and my husband heat level 7, he said you dont taste the heat right away, it builds up as you are eating it, we were both very pleased on how delicious they both were, the restaurant is quite elegant inside, and the staff was beyond excellent, never had to ask for refills, very friendly, made us feel like VIPs, at the end of our meal a very nice man I believe it was the manager came around and made sure everything was to our liking, if I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would, we were beyond impressed, I will recommend this to anyone and I most definitely will be returning, thank you so much for the best first food experience.
Great food- Not cheap take out food, reviews saying no spice and no flavor should be considered suspect. All dishes are prepared fresh. I live close by and go weekly when in town. Great bar, high end scotches and bourbons as well. No buffet here, just great food made fresh. I eat Indian ALL OVER the U.S., and this is one of the Best.
Having a personal bias towards my Moms Indian cooking, I came to Spice Train with heavy skepticism and left being its biggest fan. Ive been to Indian restaurants in NYC, London, and San Francisco and would confidently put this restaurant as one of the best. The food is absolutely delicious, authentic, and consistent.**The Chicken Afghani dish is incredible (I get it every time and have even requested them to make the appetizer portion into a dinner portion because its so good).
Its hard to come by indian restaurants that provide excellent food, service, and ambiance but Indian Spice Train manages to do just that. The menu is large and caters to various dietary needs. Its great for families, large groups, or date nights. The cocktail menu is great and the bartender is amazing!I am glad we stopped in here during our trip. The chili chicken had to be one of my favorite dishes followed by the tandoori ribeye. For appetizers, i loved the pappadi chat.I wish we had a restaurant like this by our home in Chicago so that I can get great Indian food at any time. I am sure this will be a stop on my list each time I visit the area!
At the first moment you arrive in this restaurant the stuff gives you an excellent feeling. Very friendly waiters, it is a lovely restaurant to to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. Excellent meals, experienced chief cook and stuff, decent pay and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
I ordered for the first time via Uber eats. $14 for curry chicken. I ordered extra rice and naan bread. Well I thought it was extra but apparently at this place it doesn’t come with rice or naan and all I got was once order of each! The curry was more tomato than curry and the smallest portion I have ever received of Indian food. I will never order this food again as it is not worth the price l!
The best and most authentic Indian restaurant in Cincinnati. Food is simply delicious and ambiance is nice! You can customise it to your spice level. Manbeer , owner and his wife are very courteous and polite. We even had my son’s newborn party here. Needless to say it was super hit on all counts. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere is everything one would expect and more. The food .... WOW!! Perfectly spiced, the presentation of the food was modern and traditional. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is family friendly and large group friendly. The chef even came went by every ta Leroy make sure everything was fine!!!! Exceptional!!!! Thank you to tye staff Indian spice train its been a great ride!Sherrylol &Sonya
Went in for lunch today, ordered Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, and Garlic Naan. Best i’ve had in a long time, so many amazing flavors. I’ve tried all around Dayton and Cincinnati region, this is #1. Had a Chicken Tikka Masala to go for my mother and she loved it as well. Fresh and flavorful. Will be returning soon!
OK, no joke Folks! This is the place to go! its really nice and fancy inside, so take your honey out and enjoy the night away. My wife and I go there every time we get the chance! It is totally worth the price and service, order the 3 platter meal and you will be addicted! Their sauces are so incredible that it makes any meal taste Amazing! We love it so much that we ordered catering for our daughters sweet 16 and it blew everyones minds at the party. Also, dont forget to try out the Mango-tini if youre into that kind of thing, its to Die for!Usually, I order the Chicken Tika-Masala with garlic Nan (Unlevened tortilla) level 4 and my wife gets the Chicken Korma level of spice is 4 as well, the levels are from 1-10. The rice is sooo good and the bar is great too.If you like it that much like we did, ask for catering prices, he will work with any budget so as long as you are reasonable. The Manager is Awesome! Im gerting hungry for Indian Spice Train, again!
Good food, a friendly and warm environment, and lots of options to choose from. I recommend the Taj Mahal beer to anyone looking for something a little different to go with their meal. The chicken curry, however, is different from what Ive experienced at other Indian restaurants, so be prepared for that.
The paneer tikka masala is the best version of the dish I’ve had, and I’ve dined at numerous Indian restaurants in the United States and Canada. The sauce is a perfect blend between savory and sweet. The naan portions are generous and pair well worth the Basmati rice and entree. This is fine Indian dining; most Indian restaurants will taste bland and uninspired after eating here. You’ve been warned!
Ok, so hubby and I love Indian cuisine. Food was good which was why it gets 3 stars. My tikka was tasty but I got it level 7 out of 10 and it was completely unspicy, like maybe a 1 out of 10. Hubby got curry, 10 out 10 spicy and it was appropriately hot. The prices, though, are outrageous. $35 for take out lunch portions for 2 meals and 2 orders of naan. Plus there are no prices on the menu they didnt give a total over the phone. I didnt ask so thats my fault, but man, I was not expecting that. Very disappointed.
Stellar experience everytime. Delicious authentic food with a wide variety of selections. Spice level available from 0-10. Luxurious atmosphere with a casual feel. Great for lunch, a romantic dinner date, carry out on a busy day or groups in their large party room. The staff is always friendly and professional. Its a hidden treasure.
Im a big lover of Indian food, and this restaurant is definitely the best Ive been to so far. Ive probably been here around 10 times and every single experience has been great. 👍🏼 I highly recommend their saag paneer! The owner/cook is also extremely friendly. Great service!
Most disappointing food experience Ive had in awhile.Watery, flavorless sauce and the curry tasted pretty much exactly like the vindaloo sauce. Fairly certain it was the same sauce. Just overly spiced to make up for the lack of flavor. Portion size was terrible, naan tasted like it was 3 days old, rubbery, hard, and stale and was microwaved shortly before giving it to us. We received no rice despite asking for extra and being charged $3 for it.The meat itself was actually cooked fairly well, despite the poor quality of pretty much everything else. Almost $50 down the drain. Will not be ordering anything from there again. Do not recommend.
Nice curry, although heavier on the ginger than normal and the saag was standard. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. We almost couldnt find it, since we werent looking for the black entry cover. We did only get one bowl of rice for a whole table, which wasnt enough and we had to ask for more.
The detail in the cooking is exquisite. The flavors are full bodied and captivating. The rice is especially selected, each grain cooked to perfection and serves as the base ingredient for the entrees. The ambience and decor highlighting Indian cavalry regiments is a wonderful personal touch.
The food quality took a nose dive since they opened. So sad. After one bad dinner experience, we gave them many chances but unfortunately every time the food quality went down. I dont mind paying more then what other indian restaurants charge but Indian Spice Train needs to maintain quality & consistency if they want to be different from other indian restaurants in the area. For now, I think they are average and overpriced.
Ordered spice of 3 but waitress wrote the three as an 8. Could not eat the food! When they realized mistake, they gave us dessert, but that wasnt enough considering we for charged full price for two entress we could not eat because of their mistake. Will not be visiting this place again.
SERVERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO KEEP THE TIPS !! I was very disappointed actually angry to find out my server did not get to keep the tip. I saw the owner take it away from the server when they picked it up. I then observed the owner pick up several tips after that. No words !!!!!
I would like to inform people that the restaurant doesnt have any authentic Indian taste and the food is trash and after eating at this place I had vomiting and my husband had diarrhea and the place is crazily over priced I would seriously not recommend this place to anyone because its a worst experience of my life.

2022-02-12Just moved in the Mason area a month ago and have already eaten here twice! Team is able to accommodate our family nut allergies which can be tough at Indian Restaurants. You can trust they use proper measures to accommodate allergies. Food is delicious and consistency has been 10/10! Thanks Indian Spice Train.

2021-03-02Our first time trying the Indian Spice Train. The place was empty (Monday evening), we were seated immediately, and the food came relatively quickly after we ordered. They had a steady flow of takeout customers. Ive eaten Indian food several times before in Singapore, Malaysia, Wales, and the US. This was great for the Liberty Township and surrounding area. It was my daughters first time trying Indian cuisine so we ordered both dishes at a medium spiciness level. I prefer it a little spicier. The flavor combinations were still very good. I wasnt a fan of the bread stuffed with onions but I believe its more of a personal preference. Friendly service from Rosie.

2022-05-08My first experience eating Indian food and I was more than pleased. Our server was patient in explaining the dishes. We chose the chicken Tikka marsala and the chicken curry. We also choose the garlic naan. The food was fantastic! The service is fabulous and very attentive. The food is reasonably priced for an upper scale restaurant. The decor is beautiful. Would 100% recommend trying!!

2022-04-20North Cincinnati has some of the best Indian restaurants Ive ever been to, and this is another one that does not disappoint. The only unfortunate thing I can say about this place is that upon arriving after placing an order on Doordash, I thought they were closed. There was only one vehicle in the parking lot, and it belonged to the man who was preparing my food. There was absolutely no wait time; as soon as I placed my order on Doordash, it was accepted and he began making it. The food was ready by the time I arrived. It was very delicious. Reasonable quantity for the price. I hope this place can get back on its feet and find more customers, because the food is worth it!

2019-10-25My wife and I love this restaurant. The food here is some of the best Indian food around. Great food, great atmosphere, acceptable prices. The service was fast and friendly and the owner even stopped by to see how we were. A go to for us, we highly recommend eating here.

2020-09-30Went to Indian Spice Train for lunch with some family today for my birthday. Food came out quickly and service was really good. And all the dishes tasted delicious. Was given dessert for my birthday. And I have to say some of the very best naan I have ever eaten. The fruit naan is by far my favorite I have ever eaten.

2022-02-28This place is amazing! The food is so good and the atmosphere when you walk in is so inviting. Definitely recommend trying it out if not making it your go to place for amazing Indian cuisine.
