India Garden in other cities:
The Chicken Biryani is amazing.Theyll ask you how hot, from 1 to 10.Theres almost no discernable heat in 1.However, the 10 can be really hot. But if you can eat a ghost pepper youll be fine.I like a good 5 or 6, which wont ruin your night, yet has a good amount of heat. For a twist, substitute the yogurt sauce with brown curry or tikka marsala sauce instead.
Lunch buffet is a great attraction to this place. Decent number of dishes and varieties for the value and the staff is welcoming. Loved the Zucchini curry. Spice levels are less than medium which might be a little disappointing to spice lovers. Can have more dessert varieties.
What a gem! Upon arrival, you are greeted by the smell of India and smiling faces. My date ordered the Tandoori Chicken, I enjoyed the Chana Masala (vegetarian) and of course we had some Naan! Xina and Ron were incredible. Friendly and welcome. Fast service and delicious food. Would definitely go back and highly recommend!
Amazing place for takeout and dine in! went for a friends birthday party and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and not rushed. someone had forgotten to make a reservation and they willingly seating 6 of us at 8pm, as well as made a custom dish for a picky friend. cant wait to go back!
This is now my favorite Indian restaurant. The owners are wonderful and the food is superb. We received such great service and very helpful descriptions of any questions we had. Everything was so fresh and tasty it melted in your mouth. I will definitely go back again real soon.
So delicious!!! First of all, great service from the second I stepped in the door. The food was unbelievable, great vegetarian section. I had the Matar Paneer and it was delightful as was the garlic naan. Spicy food lovers will be happy here! Delightful experience. Will recommend and return.
Met up with friends and had a wonderful dinner. The staff was friendly (and very keen on providing us with much needed water) and the food was delicious.Dont be a hero and order a 10 if you wanna be adventurous... know your hotness limits....and always order the Mango Lassi, its phenomenal.
Excellent Indian food. I love all of their tiffin menu. My favorite is masala dosa. Staff are very friendly and polite. Food service is quick and the food is delicious. Plenty of parking spots available around the restaurant and I never had to wait to get a table. I definitely recommend this place. I certainly enjoyed my visit.
First time I tried this place for lunch buffet thinking Its very convenient place to stop by during my road trip, as it is close to the highway. But had very bad experience. At first, Amazed by the rush even on the weekdays. Food was not that great. There was no proper dessert for the buffet. They serve naan unlimited for the buffet, White rice available. No biryani or fried rice. Hostage was very bad, owner counted the number of plates we used and joking that it was a huge count for the amount of food we ate, given two people. That’s such a bad treatment! I would never prefer to take a used plate for serving again during lunch buffet and he should not comment on the food. I would never visit this place again!
When here with my girlfriend.I am a Chef my self. Was extremely impressed with the Food , service, cleanness. The food is high quality and it was cooked to perfection.( that is something I consider very important cooking the food with Love and integrity and I sense that about this place .It is not overpowering with Flavors but just enough. We tried lamb,Chicken and Shrimp dishes and some appetizers. Really excited to go back and try different dishes. They have lunch buffet really looking forward going back .I also love how they have different levels for spicy for 1 -10.It looks like they take great Pride Doing there very Best .It feels like You are at HomeWe kept asking to try different Dishes as we saw other tables eating. Not really a person that writes reviews. But was googling Indian places to go to and Reading the reviews. I saw very positive reviews. Some time people may as friends or customers to write a review. This little place for Us it was an Amazing Experience.
I stopped at India Garden for the first time today. I was hungry, driving home to make some pasta, when I saw the lunch buffet signage. Im not one to pass up a buffet, and Ive only been in Lakewood a few months so I havent checked everything out yet. I thought Id give it a shot.Let me tell you, the food was delicious! By no means am I a connoisseur of Indian food. Ive been to about 5 different places in the Cleveland area, a lunch buffet in Charleston, WV, and I had a housemate from India that cooked for everyone at Diwali. I really have to say, this is the best Indian food Ive ever had! There were plenty of options to sample; I was able to try a little of almost everything. The tikka masala... I could have gotten a whole bowl of just that! The chickpea salad and hot and sour pickles (green mango w/ spices) were different and delicious. The tamarind chutney was sweet, and the mint chutney was refreshing and spicy! If youre worried about things being too hot, everything was about 1-2 spice level. Im not the biggest fan of heat, but it was bearable for me! For reference, I love Pad Thai and get it at a 3, and usually give up halfway. If you like your food spicier, Im sure Ram, the server, will be happy to accommodate you!Speaking of service, Ram and Joe were great. The restaurant is intimate, I liked the music, and it was nice and cool, not that its been very hot lately. I know I caught them right at the end of service (I showed up around 2:00-- the place was cleared by the time I was done), but they didnt give it a second thought. Ram offered me some of his personally made very spicy mint chutney, but I politely declined, as I wasnt feeling *that* adventurous today. We had a nice chat, I met the cook (Mantram, I think?), and it was just a lovely experience!I gotta say, I think I made the best lunch decision Ive ever made by stopping there! I was pleasantly surprised at everything!
Great Indian restaurant offering traditional style cuisine. There are 2 India Gardens in Lakewood and they are sister properties. This one is southern style Indian fare and the other is northern. There is a good selection of vegetarian options. The food here is great and comes out quite fast. As this is traditional Indian, it can get spicy. Thankfully youre allowed to choose your spice level for your dish on a 1-10 scale. 10 being the hottest. I cannot recall the the name of my dish but it was chicken curry over basmati rice with a hard boiled egg. Delicious. Service was fantastic. Informative, prompt, and courteous. It is a relatively small place so expect a cozier dining experience. If you like Indian its a must go.
Wow. I ordered the chicken Tikka Marsala, and the mango curry, mango chutney, and garlic naan. I seriously can’t pick a favorite. So much flavor. The food tastes fresh, even though I picked my order up 20 minutes late, then made a 20 minute drive home. This is some of the beat Indian food I’ve ever had. Ever. The only thing I would change next time is lower the spice level. I went for medium but I think I would enjoy it more if it was slightly less spicy.
Very bad experience here. We just stopped for dinner on our way to home. We order some idly, some veg curries and dum biryani. Curries are ok and malaie koftha was good and recommended. But dum chicken biryani was horrible. I never eat such type of biryani. I am big fan of it. And the idly was not so soft it’s like harder and vada he just gave by keeping in microwave it’s taste like that. Coming to sambar I can’t explain not good. We just came here by ratings. I don’t know why it’s as good rating Or we came in wrong time. I just gave those stars because of one item malaie koftha.
The food is always excellent and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Due to the mandates that effect restaurants they have had to suspend the offering of their buffet for now, so I tried something from their regular menu. I was SO happy with what I ordered. Everything was very delicious. Theres a cute little patio for those who really prefer to eat outside on a nice day.
We had a very bad experience here. Not many items on buffet as anyone would expect for $15.The mango curry was spoiled and when we told them it smelled stale they asked us to skip it. Wonder how this restaurant has 4+ stars and so many awards. Except Vegetable Pakora and Naan, the rest of the items were so base level. Hoping that theyd consider the reviews and make the necessary changes.
My fiancé and I were so impressed with everything! The paneer pakora appetizer is incredible and so well seasoned. We also had two entrees the Aaloo Gobhi and the dum Aaloo- both exceptional! It was our first time here and we live in the area and have always wanted to visit and let me tell you, we are so happy we did. Service was also exceptional. We will be back.
We chose 3 vegetarian dishes. The hot flavorings were spicy. Just hot enough to sweet but not so hot to burn. In addition to vegetarian they do have a selection of meat dishes. Consider the mango lassie. When you order tell them Joe sent you...they will say Joe Who...thats me😃
This is the staple Indian restaurant for my wife and I. Each visit we like to try something new, but our all time favorites are still Chicken Korma and Chana Saag with Paneer Pakora for an appetizer. The chutney sauce is so delicious on paneer.Whether sitting in or ordering carryout, the staff is friendly and the food is ready in great time, hot and fresh.
I visted this resturant one time, and I will never ever visite again. The food taste was disgusting and no salt, no spicies and it is coold. They did not have may kinds of food, they have only white rice coold and one kind of chicken. No salad, no pickels, no lemon, no appitizer, no fried. also it is very dirty when I was eating there wewe flys botherning me too much, the kitchen floor was dirty and the restrooom trash was full. my husband and I got sick, at night he vomited and I got stomach ache think because that dirty food. be carful do not eat at this restorant, do not hurt your health and do not waste your money.
I had a wonderful time. I was waited by the owner of the restaurant and all I could say is you could truly tell this gentleman loves this place, and what he does. From the very moment we arrived he worked hard to ensure we had a great experience. Not only that but he was incredibly humble, kind, and informed. He was courteous and understanding of the fact that most Americans arent use to extremely spicy food. Everything was made to order and they made it according to how spicy you liked. Everything I tried was delicious. I had the Shrimp Korma, Chicken Tikki, and several desserts.
I went there for lunch buffett. Food was good, especially the goat curry was awesome . Service is great. They are very welcoming and professional. I would like to give one suggestion though. If they can renovate the resturant little bit, especially the roof than the resturant will look more elegant.
Ordered Malai kofta, dum aloo and dal makhani along with vegetarian platter. Malai kofta had yummy flavors and perfectly spiced. Dum aloo gravy was same as Malai kofta with less spice. Potato in dum aloo was not cooked properly. Dal makhani was the worst you can get. No cream, no tadka, dal not boiled completely and smashed. Garlic roti was crisp and thin, cooked to perfection. 2 stars is due to very less quantity making it pricey at not so great taste. Will come back only for Malai kofta and roti. Never order dal makhani.
My first experience here was excellent! The service was impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and informative staff was always close by. I ordered the Goat Biryani at level 4 (out of 10) and it was a good amount of heat with a ton of authentic flavor. I sampled the other dishes my friends got and they were equally good. I will definitely be returning and you should most certainly try this restaurant!
Worst meet I ever tasted in my food and prices higher than normal.I even asked on the phone call if they make their food fresh and the owner was so assuring that yes they make their dishes fresh because normally these restaurants make whole week worth of dishes and heat them up when the order is placed. And those pre cooked dishes taste bad. And the same exact thing happened to me at this restaurant. The food was not fresh at all. It tasted like I am literally eating food that been cooked days ago and it was re heated for me. I was so disappointed and end up throwing it away.Another disappointment was, the price is way higher than other restaurants on the area for the same dish. They charge $20 and other restaurants charge $15 for the same exact dish. And I thought if the price is high, that means they must be serving fresh food. But I am so disappointed. Will never buy food from them again. Dishonesty is not the way to get new customers in.Meat tasted like I am eating a chicken who’s meat was rotten or you know it gets black or something and had that weird taste. And there were some type of fat kind of thing on each piece of chicken meat and I think it was those harmon and steroid injections that they give chickens to look bigger and meatier. It was horrible to eat that meat. I almost got sick because of that taste.
By far, my favorite Indian restaurant in Cleveland. The atmosphere is warm and casual and the service is the same; everyone is friendly and open. The food is some of the best Indian food Ive ever eaten. Its full of flavor, bursting with bravado and has lots of options for all dietary times. I switch up my entree pretty routinely, but I always order the garlic naan and Gobi 65 every time. Its become a regular in our restaurant rotation.
This was my first time going here and ordering take out. The owner of the company greeted me when we arrived by name and thanked us for our purchase. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and inviting. I absolutely loved my food and I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
My first time eating proper Indian cuisine and I am truly grateful for such a delectable cultural experience. The owner and his staff are so friendly, courteous, and attentive and it is some of the freshest, most flavorful buffet food Ive had outside my state. The restaurant is well kept and clean and if you happen to be in the area it is one not to miss.
Great food and service. Despite the plain, small storefront and obscure location, the inside was quite charming while not feeling too crowded. The food was excellent and we had multiple staff wait on us, handling our every need. Great Indian beer selection too. Definitely going again, highly Recommended!
Thank you for feeding me and my family absolutely fantastic indian food for over a decade. My dad took my brother and I to eat at your restaurant for the first time when we were just 6 and 10 years old- we’re now 19 and 23! So many wonderful memories with friends and family. We love you guys and will always continue to order from ya’ll and visit whenever we can. 💕
If you live in Northeast Ohio and havent been to India Garden, you are missing out! This is my favorite restaurant for Indian cuisine and has some of the best overall service I have experienced. The food is DELICIOUS and service is always sensational. The exterior is small and unassuming, but once you step inside you can tell that this establishment is really special.
The place was very busy on an early Sunday evening mostly filled with those who are Indian and lovers of good Indian food.. Service was pretty bad. We were seated very quickly but waited over a half hour before being offered beverages and another 10,minutes before the order was taken. The food was quite good and definitely worth the wait. The restaurant looks dirty and could use a very thorough cleaning yet the food is so good. I will return for more hoping they step it up with cleanliness and prompt service.
Food was DELICIOUS and customer service was absolutely perfect. Everyone was kind and attentive. My husband and I felt more than welcome! What an amazing first experience to have.UPDATE: Sadly, later this day my husband got a really upset stomach because the chicken in the mango chicken dish was undercooked.
This tiny and cozy restaurant is a welcomed respite. The staff is quite kind and welcoming as well. They have a way of making you feel special, like genuinely welcomed. Its as if they were thinking of you while you were away and you made their night because you have returned. And I have only been there like 5-7 times in the last 5 years. The owner is good with faces an is very kind. I see him visit with all the tables and know that everyone is greeted with the same flare of sensitivity and genuine gratitude. I do come here for this, but without further adu, the food! Now I have spent a lot of time all over India. I have eaten at one of the finest restaurants India has to offer in New Delhi(India Accent), from street food carts and everywhere inbetween, including home cooked meals. India Garden has just about all the staples. I have yet to find pannier in the US like I had in Bharat. I dont know why that is, but I will keep looking, looking for that softer, almost creamier texture I came to know and love. Now that isnt to say the pannier is no good, its as good as any I have had here in America. I do recommend with any of the meals to ensure you take the spice I like it hot most of the time, but India knows HOT. Por ejemplo, en Mexico, I could ask for picante (they think its funny we use hot for both temp and taste, I think its funnywe use the imperial system). I go picante all the way, and enjoy myself just fine. Even in Dia, I could say I like spicy but not 100% and really love what Im shoving in my Naanhole. But at India Graden, I have to ask for 5 in a scale of 0-10. I know, it takes the wind out of my sails, but these guys know spicy. So if you like a little spice go 3, but please do yourself a favor and dont go less. My sails aside, I am happy to continue to come here and hope you will too.
Pleasant, friendly service and a nice restaurant with some of the worst attempts at Indian food I have yet seen.I dont know what the deal is here, so many positive reviews that I can only surmise are from people who have never eaten Indian food before. Its not exactly bad food by any means, just bland, under spiced, tasteless, simultaneously over and under cooked, and authenticity is lacking in the extreme. Flavor is often a distant approximation and certain dishes bear no resemblance whatsoever to how theyre meant to look or taste, they just ladle the same 1 or 2 bland base sauces on all of it, and presentation borders on anemic.Perhaps theyve tried to westernize the food for American palates, which is a terrible idea and I can promise is completely unnecessary. Extremely disappointing and not the taste of home I wished it were. They could be so much better than this, but it seems it doesnt matter going by the rest of the reviews. That will change when decent competition arrives.
True, authentic Northern India cuisine prepared to perfection. The staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and eager to be of service. I menu deep with variety is augmented by a buffet that is never the same twice. Prices are downright cheap for the amount and quality of the food that is plated and served. The buffet is, of course, unlimited. This is a must stop spot whenever you visit Lakewood!
We went here on date night recently. It was phenomenal and we cant wait to go back! Our server was extremely genuine and kind, patient with answering questions, and very willing to adapt dishes for my milk allergy and my husbands vegetarian diet. The (owner? manager?) came to our table as well to check in and ask how things were. The food was really excellent and we learned a lot about Indian food. Everything was cooked to perfection and we cant wait to try other dishes!
Wonderful service, fast, and fantastic, very flavorful food!Enjoyed a goat dish one time, & lamb dish another time. Cooked according to ones spice level. Great fresh bread (garlic, cheese, etc.). Good sized portions. If you like & want flavorful, fabluous food, - go here! Will be back to enjoy other parts of their large menu.Enjoy!
We did not eat there so 1 Star would not be fair. We waited for 15 minutes with our 5 yr daughter and received worst attitude we got from the waiter. He seated 4 other groups (3 without reservations) but would ignore us completely even after telling him we were here before them. Finally we walked away. They definitely can do some customer service training on one of their day offs for their own development and improvement. First time there and definitely not returning anytime soon
Fantastic selection for a variety of Indian dishes. The portions are on the larger side and they offer different spicing (heat) options to fit any palette. Most vegetarian dishes can be made vegan and the selection for both meat eaters and vegetarians is sizable. This is a small, family-run affair so the seating in the dining room is limited and parking can be an issue when they are busy (which is often) but these concerns are minimal when compared to the service and taste.
Surprisingly delicious! The restaurant is small tho and the environment is not great due to that. If they move into a bigger and newer place this will easily be a 5 star! Its probably the smallest place Ive ever eaten at other than my home. Food was the best Indian Ive ever had!
As a person who lives in Lakewood India garden is one of those restaurants that makes me proud to live here. Its delicious and authentic. I have a friend that loves Indian foos and lives in Chicago where pretty much all food is good and he always eats at india garden when he comes into town. Personally I get anything chicken. Literally any of the chicken dishes and a spicy level of 5-6. Its spicy and wonderful just like my step mom.
Been gong here for years and is my go to for Indian food recommendations. They do a spectacular job here and the food is delicious. I’m vegan and never had an issue ordering. Garlic naan is worth a try if you’ve never had it, don’t mess with the spicy scale unless you can handle it!
If you like authentic Indian food, this place is amazing. Their biryani chicken is incredible. Make sure to get the brown curry sauce with it, not the yogurt sauce (unless you really like yogurt sauce). Their hot level goes from 0 to 10. I convinced them to give me 10 once. Even if you nibble on ghost peppers, it will make you sweat.
My favorite Indian food in Cleveland. Ive had at least half of the menu and have enjoyed all of it, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. My favorite dishes are Lamb Saag and Baingan Bhartha, I usually do a 6/10 for spice. They definitely do well at catering to the American spice palate, great for the parents, and can crank it up if you enjoy it spicy. They have an amazing staff and owner who always make your meal comfortable and well attended to.
This restaurant is a disgrace for Indian food. Nothing tastes Indian. We ordered Chilly Paneer, Baby Corn Manchuria, chicken biryani and veg hakka noodles .Chilly Paneer : nothing chilly about it, full of vineger and tomato sauce. Excessive use of artificial color.Baby corn Manchuria: was made with the exact same sauce as chilly paneer (checkout the pics).Chicken Biryani: Served stale, when asked the Manager about it, he argued that they make fresh Biryani in MORNING ONLY, even if serving it for dinner. My mind hurts, thinking of how bad the chicken tasted. Although Manager was graceful enough for not charging us(pls find the reciept), and offered us to order anything, at no cost but we choose not to as we were disappointed.Hakka Noodles: My vegiterian wife and friend , did not liked it either. This place is definitely not for Indians, period. American may like it, who might have less knowledge of Indian taste.Good Indian Restaurants around Cleveland:Bombay ChaatChoolahBiryaniHut ExpressJaipur JunctionIndian Cuisine
The food is excellent - very flavorful Indian cuisine. Ive tried several dishes and my favorite so far is the chicken korma. I like a fair amount of heat, so I chose 6 on the scale of 1-10 and it was perfect. The atmosphere is great, we were there on a Saturday night most recently and it was mostly full the entire time. The service is incredible! I definitely recommend India Garden.
This is an authentic Indian restaurant... The food is wonderful and the service is great. Expect nothing but awesome authentic food because this is after all an Indian restaurant... Dont expect them to offer a special menu to feed your children if they dont eat this kind of food... Five stars... We will be back...
Love this place. I brought my Indian daughter-in-law here for the buffet and she liked it. She lives in NY and so has access to a lot of Indian food plus her mother is an excellent cook. I had tandoori chicken when I was in India. Loved it and have tried to find Good tandoori, even in London, to no avail. I had given up and was reluctant to try it at the Indian Garden, but finally did since so much of the other food was good. The tandoori was wonderful and every bit as good as that in India. I wonder if all of the Indians who complain on this page have their own restaurant. Their reviews make no sense. I do see Indians eating there. I am going for the buffet tomorrow.
I have been going to India Garden for the past 15 years for their lunch buffet. For the most part they had excellent dishes with a few that were not the best. Now, in the past year, the quality has gone down. At least regarding their buffet. To call Indian food boring and bland is not a good thing. When done correctly Indian food is amazing. Sadly, India Garden’s buffet is not. They are under the same ownership so the only reason I can reason for their decline is for cost savings and a desire to cater to the American pallet. Before the Indian clientele were numerous and now there are few to no Indian diners which is proof that they are no longer as authentic as they used to be.Sadly this will my last time going to their buffet. There are too many better options that have opened up recently that cater to authentic Indian food.
I went for lunch and had the buffet. Great authentic selection of entrees for carnivores and vegetarians, soup, salads, fresh naan, dessert offering. Reasonably priced and best of all you wont leave hungry. Intimate, cozy space for singles, couples, and small groups. Friendly, attentive staff. Parking out front.
Not so good place for some continent people. Not a lot of option for food. Not so welcoming people. They charged me $13 dollar for buffet which dont even worth $6. Honestly, Ive paid $9+tax in lots of good restaurant with quality customer service.Honestly, I dont recommend this place to anybody for those who like more food option and welcoming people.
Ive been to the Indian Garden in Oberlin and it was amazing! Went to the one in Lakewood and it was a complete disaster... tried talking my husband out of going in ( even after the 30 minutes to get there) it was a shady looking place. Once inside my husband couldnt stop apologizing but I figured the food HAD to be good. It all was terrible.... I left telling my husband that was some really expensive rice. NEVER.... EVER AGAIN! I want to know how many realatives the owner has that they are able to get 4.4 stars. Im being 100%.... this place was terrible!!!!
This place has changed my love of food completely! If you have never tried Indian food before, this is the place to go! The workers are really friendly and personable. You can be honest that you dont know where you might be on their spicy scale of 1-10 and they will help you out with picking the right number. For example, I like spicy to a certain extent. I enjoy some spice but I still want to be able to feel my tongue and enjoy the other flavors that might be in the dish so I get a spice level 3. Its a little spicy but not a hot iron to my throat. Mind you, American spicy is far lower than Indian spicy so if you think you are a 10 on their scale, you probably arent anywhere near it. My all time favorites from this place is their garlic naan bread, chicken tikka masala, and the best for last, a mango lassi. I never knew what a mango lassi was before going to an Indian restaurant but this is a gift from God...Whenever I go with my friend, both of use get two of them because we generally drink the first one like its a race, and then really enjoy the taste of the second one. Check this place out! Its really cozy inside too!
Great place for Indian. We came here after touring Western Reserve Distillers as we were looking for some good Indian cuisine. The bartender at the distillery recommended this place. What I liked was the location and the hole in the wall ambiance. I could imagine stumbling onto a place like this while tramping about a big city somewhere in India.Great veggie pakoras served with the typical tamarind and green chutneys. Their green chutney was nice and spicey. The pakoras had a spiciness all their own and that was a delightful treat.I got the shrimp and veggie curry at level 5. Level 5 is half way on their hotness scale. Plenty warm for me. Shrimps were cooked just right and the curry sauce was well balanced. We enjoyed great service and attention to detail. Outdoor seating is available too but we opted for inside.I would definitely recommend this for tastey Indian if you are in the Lakewood area.
Easily one of the best experiences you can have in Lakewood. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff goes far beyond what anyone could ever ask.I came here with my father for his birthday and the server got so excited when my dad asked about how the food was made he actually took him over and explained each dish and what was inside.Been here twice, and will be coming again many times over!
Start making REAL Indian food please...and the taste was off, like a burnt taste. Newsflash not every American is clueless about what real Indian food is supposed to taste like. We are much more aware of international cuisine here than ever before. Times have changed, time to step it up! Id rather buy a bottle of curry powder and pour it all over a chicken nugget than eat here ever again.
Im fairly new to Indian cuisine. I dont really know what the dishes are yet besides your basic curries, naan and tikka masala but everything I ordered here was great! I just took a guess and pointed to a few things on the menu and was not let down. I dont remember all the names of our dishes so I cant be specific but I do know the garlic naan was made in an actual tandoori oven which made it super good. We also tried Gobi 65 as our appetizer. Ive never had anything like it before and it was amazing. I will 100% be back soon with my children to give the buffet a try.
FINALLY an Indian Resturant that stocks a quality IPA. After years of suffering through the bland Budweiser-esque water/lagers that every Indian restaurant proudly serves, these guys get it. Vindaloo and IPA are both children of Indian colonization and the most perfectly paired culinary match. The Vindaloo was a solid 4-stars and these folks know how to deliver the heat. I ordered 8.5 heat which was a good balance. Call me newfangled but I dont mind tomato chucks in my vindy.Extra star for the IPA. Youre doing Gods work, keep it up.Oops, you lost a star for not having a fennel/licorice bowl at the end. The Queen would deduct a point for not having condiments at the table but I was solo today.
I adore this restaurant. Every time Ive eaten there the staff is so nice and the food makes my mouth water. Small unassuming location with a great atmosphere.I cant say I have a favorite dish since Ive really enjoyed everything Ive ever eaten here. The only problem with this place is that its not closet to my house! Haha.
Incredible restaurant - nothing but glowing remarks. The service is fantastic - extremely attentive yet not invasive. It feels like you are dining at someoness home. Super authentic food with incredible flavor profile. Portions are generous. Best mango lassi I have ever had in my life. Its a 40 min drive for me but its undoubtably worth it!
We were seriously disappointed in food. The whole group didnt have anything to recommend. You want to eat nice food there are many other nicer Indian places. The mango curry had been ruined. The other curries were too band to be tasty. Pan err was not sumptous and gravy a little watery. Would not visit again or recommend.
So ... from what I can tell, this is a sister location of Namaste Garden that was located at 14412 Detroit Ave, Lakewood. We loved going to Namaste Garden, food was great, the service was great, the location/building was in good condition; however they closed their doors. India Garden, on the other hand, was not as great as Namaste; we recognized some of the staff from the other location.I would say the good is around average for indian cuisine in the area. The building is very run down, which apparent when you go to the restrooms.Unless things really change, this might be our last trip to lakewood for indian food. 😥
Food tasted good. Not bad not great. Service was satisfactory as well. They bring naan/bread right to your table if you go for buffet. Certain items in their buffet were good but some tasted below average. Their naan were really good. Rice pudding was the worst, I would suggest them to make is close to the real rice pudding (Kheer) recipe instead of making it jello type rice pudding. They also serve wine and alcohol.
Super friendly staff and good food. I do not like spicy stuff and always ask for mild and never have a problem with it. Really great waiters. I wouldnt be surprised if they had a pile of them someplace and just bring them out so everyone had someone to fill the water or bring more rice.
I tried the Buffet at noon. The staff are good& friendly. The place is small, food variety is not great, much options are not available in the buffet, there is no variety rice like biryani, gobi manuchurian or noodles, south Indian food etc.If you have had buffet in Michigan restaurants like Farmington Hills etc.. this place is not suitable for buffet, may-be try a-la- carte.
Had the Butter Chicken. Was delicious! Two others there loved the food they ordered too. Food is made fresh to match the desired spiciness. Great food, service was great as well. Be prepared for a single check. We had cash so not sure about splitting check. Will be going back again.
Based on online ordering through UberEats, I found the “delivery menu” prices are significantly more expensive than the regular menu prices. The food is really good, but it’s not right to have an entirely different menu in order to charge more. The additional charge for delivery should be in the “delivery fee”.
I love this place. If they sold food in individual sized portions i would eat here once a week. They waiters are all super nice (even overly nice) and the owner takes a personal interest in his customers. I love the food but i do wish they sold 1/2 sized portions. Every time i order it costs$20 bucks and i have food enough for 4 -6 meals.2 yrs later - and I still eat here about once a month.Best aloo saag I have ever tasted!
I tried this place today based on other great reviews. Oh boy I was terribly wrong. Terrible food. Who puts Tomatoes and Green Peppers in an Okra Masala? Vegetable Jalfrezi I got was spoilt. Didnt expect this from Northern Ohios so called best Indian restaurant. I have tried Indian restaurants all around the world, this must rank right at the bottom.
Legit food, goat curry was out of this world. Good price, $10.95 for buffet, good location. Very friendly staff, a bit over-friendly haha but thats not a bad thing. Kept filling up my water glass and offering naan bread every few minutes so Im not complaining :) Full 5 stars
I ordered from them tonight. Was super excited to try. I ordered through a delivery app, but they have their drivers deliver. The delivery never came and when I called the store they told me they dont have any drivers. When I went back to the app, the store was closed.Bad experience and very strange.
Not only is this the best Indian restaurant in the greater Cleveland area, it may well be the best restaurant period. There prices are good, their service is excellent, and their food is downright amazing. They bring complimentary papadum with two sauces, a sweet, mild sauce and a spicy mint and pepper sauce. Bear in mind, this sauce is considered a 6/10 on their spicy scale. Thats barely more than medium. I once accidentally ordered a 6/4 at a Thai restaurant and ate it all. I like spicy. I get a 4 at India Garden. My girlfriend gets a zero and loves it. The most amazing part of this is that they are able to take any dish and make a consistent, 10 point gradient scale of spicy and it doesnt taste like they just added x teaspoons of red pepper, it tastes like it was cooked from scratch with those spices included. I live in Cleveland Heights and drive 40 minutes across town to go here, even though there are probably 10 Indian restaurants within a 10 minute drive of me. Seriously the best. And their Naan is the best Ive ever had anywhere. Light and bubbly with just the right amount of crispness. The decor of the restaurant is nice as well. You would feel comfortable wearing shorts and sandals or a full suit. Its not formal by any means, but you could dress up and bring a date and have a very romantic dinner, or you could come in after a long day at the beach. Ive done both. Go here.
Ive spent my whole life eating Indian food. I grew up on Indian food. I love Indian food and this is the best traditional Indian food Ive ever eaten. Ive become something of a regular at this wonderful sit down restaurant and cannot recommend it enough. They serve northern Indian food here primarily while their sister restaurant - Namaste India Garden - specialises in southern Indian food. The staff is very friendly and attentive, you wont be waiting long for anything. The decor is pleasant but not distracting. You can smell the food from outside and itll make your mouth water.Appetizers include traditional Samosas as well as deep fried shrimp and a number of other foods - get the vegetable sample platter for a great introduction to them. The entrees include MANY vegetarian options and most dishes are gluten free. My personal favorites are the Curry, Tikka Masala, Vindaloo, and Rogan Josh. Most have options for different meats including chicken, lamb and goat. The lamb is absolutely phenomenal but theyre all delicious, you cant go wrong with any menu choice. Each entree is fairly large, expect leftovers and expect to share as each is served in a family style. While every entree is fantastic, burning your mouth with spiciness is not. I eat lots of spicy food, I cook with habaneros and I wont go above a 7 on spiciness but I like to taste my food.Rice comes with the entrees but I highly encourage you to get naan with your meal. The garlic naan is the best but if youre unfamiliar with naan order the bread basket for a selection of three different kinds: traditional, garlic and, potato stuffed.I very rarely write reviews but such a spectacular place deserves the recognition. If youre on the fence about going to India Garden, its one of the best restaurants youll find around Cleveland - I can assure you of that.

2022-06-07This place is a hidden gem and also now my new favorite go-to for Indian food. The lunch buffet is awesome with plenty of options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. The food is tasty, plentiful, and the flavors are legit. The owner and staff are super kind and talk to each customer like they are old friends. Its obvious that this family is passionate about their food and their customers.

2022-01-16Fantastic meal. We got chicken korma, simosas, and two kinds of naan, and all were delicious. The korma was medium heat and appropriately spicy, simosas were crisp, delicious, and came w tasty sauces. Fair prices. Excited to go back!

2021-10-20They have an amazing lunch buffet for 13.95, filled with a ton of vegetarian options and includes chai tea. the staff are amazing, answered all of our questions, and when we were going to put in our appetizer order, directed us to the buffet instead that included what we were going to order, and gave us a tour of it with descriptions. Everything was delicious, will definitely be back

The selection is amazing, fresh hot naan brought out every few minutes, super kind staff...this place is such a hidden gem. 2022-05-28Wonderful experience having dinner here. I had the Lamb Rogan Josh and it was amazing.Well plated, not deceptively over sauced like some other restaurants that skimp on the meats. The naan was tastefully seasoned and lightly oily, perfect for a quick cool down if youve bitten off more than you can chew in the spice department. Speaking of spice, they bring you a few sample sauces to judge your personal preference of spice levels between 1 and 10. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is patient. Good go to for a date or small birthday party.

2022-06-16Excellent food, and the buffet is a great deal for the price. Fresh soft naan and really amazing vegetable pakora. Interior is very comfortable and chill. The location is tucked back further from the road than the other buildings around it, but it has a decent amount of parking space for being on Detroit road in Lakewood, so early in the day there shouldnt be trouble finding a spot to park (one of the most difficult aspects of the city). Im so glad I spotted it while driving by a few days ago. Will definitely be bringing friends here in the future. The awards on the wall are well deserved.

2020-12-26Great food! Authentic. One of the signs of a great Indian restaurant is their great naan (bread). It should be fluffy, warm, soft. They serve wonderful naan. However, they arent serving lunch buffet. However, they have an alternative deal. One naan, one chai (tea), one kheer (rice pudding) free with lunch.
