The server was good and food tasted good but I ordered a rybeye but got served a strip, which isn’t even on the menu. Not one little piece of fat on the steak. Ordered an olde fashioned and it was served with crushed ice. Also ordered a wedge salad and was told they couldn’t chop the lettuce before serving. Pretty terrible overall experience, especially for the cost.
Came here for late lunch. My friend had the shrimp & lump crab in a white cream sauce over spaghetti with a side salad. I had the grilled Reuben sandwich with fries & side salad. Both of our meals were large portions, came out hot and were delicious. I would recommend coming here when youre in Akron Ohio.
One of our favorite places to go to dinner. Delicious food, everything Ive tried here has been great! Wonderful homemade bread! Old school restaurant vibe, which I love!
Amazing atmosphere, food, and service.We are from out of state attending an event at the John S Knight Center and were looking for a dinner spot. Google listed Ido Bar and Grill, the menu was very diverse for special dietary.We didnt make a reservation, as we didnt think it was needed. We got the last open table shortly after 6pm. The staff from the hostess to the busser were all friendly, polite and what you would expect in a more formal restaurant. Props for keeping your staff upbeat and energetic during covid.The food was a.maz.ing. For a full restaurant, it was rather quick, hot, and fresh. I ordered the parm crusted chicken and even though it was crusted in top, it was creamy underneath, the chicken had great flavor on its own, was very tender, and so juicy.If I was local, I would definitely add this to my restaurant rotation.
Ido never lets down! If you dont know what to eat, this place has an array of different plates to suit! Lobster bisque was amazing as well as the french onion soup and the prime rib sliders. Cleabn comfy atmosphere too. I love this place.
Used to have wonderful burgers. Mediocre appetizers and burgers. Good service - not her fault. It will take me a while to give them a second chance.
Took my girlfriend here for her first visit, and it had been over 20 years since Ive had a burger from the Ido. Within 1 visit it became our new local favorite. Weve already returned once after our initial visit. They make one helluva Reuben! Any burger on the menu is most likely going to be amazing! Im looking forward to trying more items on the menu! The building has a unique feel! On one side you have an updated bar and grill atmosphere, on the other side its like a blast from the past. Both visits I noticed it seems to draw an older crowd. I figure this means the service and quality here must be consistent, as I know people are creatures habit. Anyone in the area should consider stopping by. Im sure you will find your experience worth while and memorable. I cant wait to return!
Ordered curbside pickup and waited 15 minutes for my food to be brought out. I had to call in twice. While waiting o observed a cook talking on his phone with gloves on and smoking. The food was great, but never again.

Filet was ever so tender, one of the best Ive had and the price included 2 sides. I had a salad and a baked potato. So, good food but the service was OUTSTANDING. They werent busy and we were seated immediately, drinks came out fast, the food faster - we hadnt even finished our before dinner drink, which then became an after dinner drink. I would recommend.

This was our first time trying this place. I had the prime rib sliders with two sides. My wife had a Reuben and one side. We figure that was 28-29 dollars. I ordered 2 draft ipas and my wife had 2 glasses of house wine. Our bill was $70! Really? It was not itemized and didnt want to make a fuss in front of the people who invited us there. Food was good but not great. Dont think well be back.
Local favorite.. The food and drinks are magnificent the wife and i visited this week for Mardi Gras and had THE BEST pasta meal: Swamp Pasta: Today is the last day for it, so we are getting carry out for the 2nd time this week!

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. It is truly a treasure in Akron. The food is ALWAYS phenomenal. The specials are always new and fun to try. The menu has enough variety to treat anyone. And the service is fantastic, especially Anna she is so attentive and is so bubbly and just helps you enjoy the already fantastic meal and atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite local spots.

Every Tuesday night they have porkchops. They were yummy. I had two different kinds. one breaded and one spicy. The drink was good too.
Food was very good, but the prices have gone up substantially in the last month and a half. I understand but $60.00 for dinner for 2 and no alcoholic beverages or dessert is a bit pricey.

Went there at noon one day. After we ordered a Reuben, cup of French onion soup, and a special melted cheese sandwich it took over 1 and 1/2 hours to get our food. We saw whole families and groups come and leave in that time. The server kept apologizing, even bringing us some samples of Wedding soup ( which was delicious!). But the kitchen apparently couldnt handle our simple order! We finished around 2:30. Food was great however, as was our server
I was deeply disturbed at the prices they are gouging people for you would think the house salad would have Romain lettuce in it I got the prime rib for 2899 and it was served cold they didn’t even have regular horseradish and then I asked the waitress for butter for my baked potato that she brought out plain to me and she pointed to the Bradborne should get it yourself totally disappointed extremely huge rip off
I’m a pretty regular customer at Ido. I’ve always enjoyed their food but I thought it was fairly expensive. Tonight a friend and I went there for dinner and the prices have increased even more. The Tuesday special went from 12.95 to 16.95. A CUP of seafood bisque is 8.99. My friend ordered a 13.99 meal from the special board and when it came time to pay it was 16.99 on his bill. The server and the manager said that the prices on the special board were outdated and refused to give him the price advertised. The steaks at Texas Roadhouse are better priced than at the Ido. I won’t be returning.
This was my first time here. I must say fantastic. My server Rachel was very nice. The food was prepared great. I will be back. And keep up the wonderful service.
Small, but cozy atmosphere and one of the best burgers Ive ever eaten.Even during staff shortages in the pandemic, their food is still incredible. Be patient with the service, your food will be well worth it.

Decided to try this place again. Im so glad I did. Had the sirloin steak with fries, salad and loaded potato skins. The steak was by far one of the most tender, perfectly cooked steaks Ive had. Completely changed my opinion. I will definitely be returning again. You will not be disappointed.
I visit this place as a work for Postmates and I found it to be very friendly the food is great love the atmosphere and environment is nothing more than awesome i have been passed by 5 times each time someone has greeted me or offered me assistance this is definitely a must visit in the Akron Ohio area first time to this bar and grill and I definitely recommend it!
Sat in a booth for 15 minutes with not a single person checking on us. While watching 3 other booths getting served, and a waitress sweeping the floor. Didnt get a single, not even a water.
The shrimp dinner had very large prawn size fried shrimp cooked perfectly! Delicious

Had a very good steak and the wife loved the lobster tail. The appetizers are ver good also. Suggest the shrimp. Service was excellent. Only slight drawback was the Prices were a little higher than I thought they needed to be. Still a great meal all in all

Wow. Just a really neat restaurant/bar with excellent food. Our waitress Anna was exceptional . Homemade Garlic Mashed potatoes were sooo yummy and the croutons-oh goodness- little bit of deliciousness right there 😋 Make sure to completeyour scrumptious meal with Apple Dumplings .We will definitely be back soon and hopefullybe fortunate again to have Anna as our server.
Great food always - however pretty disappointing that we couldn’t place an order online, call the restaurant to find out they aren’t doing carry out. Whoever answered was not pleasant when I inquired why they weren’t doing carry out. I understand that everyone is short staffed, but no excuse to be rude.
The hostess was rude. No reservation? No seat. No time estimate for seating. Did not even ask if we wanted to wait. 5 people and told could not sit in the large booths in the bar even though plenty of room. Other restaurants allow it, but told a fire hazard???? Would love to support a local business, but this is the 2nd time the hotels staff was horrible. There will not be a third time
The Ido is a cute little local place with really awesome food and great service. It can get quite busy at the usual hour, but they do a great job of managing expectations and also will take call ahead reservations.
Last night was our first visit, and it was fantastic. The outside is so unassuming that we had no idea of what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the Drunken Seafood that had shrimp, sea scallops, and big chunks of fish tossed in a vodka cream sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Its overpriced diner food. Salads/burgers $11-13 everything else $16-19 even seafood/steak options over $25. But once its set in front of you its quite disappointing. The atmosphere doesnt support the cost either.

The food was great. It took a long time to get. Forty minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food but it was well worth the wait. We will return.
I am updating my review to 5 stars. Again this is not a fancy place. This is a family place with great service, great people and everything I have tried has always been delicious. The price is beyond reasonable, the range of choices will keep you coming back and the Ido will never let you down.
I called in an an order for a ribeye and they complimented me with a fine steak with onions green peppers on the side. Great people exquisite service even gave me ride back to my truck...

Service was excellent. We went for a Friday lunch fish fry and for $9.99 we were served 3 pieces of very thin lightly battered perch, a generous portion of french fries, coleslaw and hot rice. I only wish a restaurant in the Akron area would offer lightly battered haddock. My husband is from upstate NY where a lightly battered, meaty haddock fish fry is available in almost every restaurant. Why isnt that available in the Akron area? I can guarantee that regular restaurant customers would flock to the establishment(s) and people would be ecstatic. I would like to challenge all restaurants in the Akron area to visit almost ANY restaurant in the Syracuse area, inquire about where they purchase their haddock, bring it back to Akron and you will not only be pleasantly surprised, but also have a gold mine in your Akron restaurant/food truck.
A little neighborhood bar & grill. I wasnt too impressed when I walked in, so I wondered if the reviews about the food were accurate. The staff were very friendly! The facility was clean. The menu has a good selection. I was shocked when we got our food at how good it was! Plus the hostess told us that burgers are on sale on Wednesdays, and to come back and check them out again! Sauerkraut balls were yummy as well. Dont let this hidden gem fool you! The food is actually really good, and the prices are reasonable!

Place is amazing. There is a very nostalgic atmosphere here that isnt in your face. Just a classic diner and bar. The music is good, the staff is better, but the food... Is amazing. The Ido Burger was one of the best burgers Ive ever eaten. The sign recommended reservations on the weekends. I went on a Thursday at 4pm and it was dead.
In my opinion, best hamburgers in NE Ohio. This restaurant is always in my top 3 go-to places, friendly staff.

Very dependable neighborhood bar and grille. Two sides: bar and restaurant. Servers are always friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Small parking lot at restaurant. You may have to park across the street in the overflow lot. No big deal. American fair. Good to very good soups. My wedding soup was excellent. My dining partner loved her mushroom and brie soup. I had a good Caesar salad and she had a very good chicken salad sandwich. All very satisfying. Our bills were both under $10. One my favorites for simple, very good lunches.
The inside is beautiful , clean and large . the server was very nice and very upbeat . we ordered a 2 lobster dinner and a seafood platter along with lobster bisque . the soup was wonderful . the dinners were generous , although the seafood was a little overcooked . stay away from the rice pilaf as its not very good . overall it was a great experience !
Great food! Im visiting from out of town and I ended up going here twice! They have great discounts throughout the week also. Wednesday is 1/2 off burgers and they are huge, definitely worth the full price, but 1/2 off makes it so much better!!! Also had the meatloaf, its very yummy! Made home style, just like from your moms kitchen!

Used to be my go to twice a week...some quality of the food has changed...called several times to vent/discuss- noone bothered to call. During these rough money times and scary virus Id expect the owners or management to care I actually trust them enough to still spend money there that Id at least get a call back. I feel like I dont matter to the ido therefore me and my family and work team will spend our money elsewhere.Even fast food make things right!...I expect better from a non fast food spot.

Best hole in the wall bar Ive been too. Great atmosphere and people. The bar staff is very attentive and know a lot of drinks. Drinks are cheap and stiff too. The food is very good here as well. I asked my bartender whats good there and she said everything. It was true the food was fantastic. Not what I expected but in a good way. I would recommend this place to anyone in the akron area.
I got the sirloin with a house salad and baked potato. Everything tasted amazing! The salad was fresh, even the croutons were the right texture. The steak was cooked perfectly and with just the right amount of seasoning.
Friendly staff. Great food. My wife and I went when the restaurant special was Cajun week I believe. The Po Boys and Gumbo tasted like we were in the Big Easy. Will definitely be going back in the near future.

I have had pork chops all over the country. Its my favorite food. The Montreal pork chop was the best one Ive ever had. Ever. The fillet was soft enough to cut with a fork. KK was our server and she was very attentive to all of us even with a packed house and only 2 servers on the floor. 10 of 10 would recommend will be back again and again!!!!!

I had a good Kates Cobb salad. They had many other things and big steaks/prime in the 25 to $30 range. A bit pricey for me I guess. Nice wait staff. Me and a friend tipped extra. Good sesame-crusted French bread. Small bar, big dining room.Will come back.
Talk about excellent service and amazing food. Ido Bar and Grill has is down. Black Angus Steak with some Bread and Butter. That’s my kind of meal. Very nice people are staffed here. The group and I had too much fun. I recommend Ido Bar and Grill. It’s worth a shot for any newcomers.
One of my favorite local joints and the staff makes the place as much as the food. Ive never had a bad meal here ever. Bar and grill on one side, dining room on the other, laid back and family friendly. One of the best steaks any where at any price. The basic sirlon here rivals a filet at other good places. No chain has food like this!

Honestly it would have been a five because the food is legitimate perfection. But we asked for a booth to be reserved for us and we were placed at a table right by the bathroom. So I was a little uncomfortable with my seat, but had one of the best steaks of my LIFE

Excellent food, drinks and service. Prices are very reasonable. We are NEVER disappointed with the food, and service. They have many specials coming up during Mardi Gras and St. Patricks day. The specials are running for a few weeks, not just the day of the holiday. Definitely one of Firestone Parks best kept secrets!
I thought they were very expensive considering the restaurant is more like an old time bar. The specials were priced right. I went on burger night but was persuaded not to get one. So I got the Sonoma Chicken. It was good but a little dry. Thank goodness for the sauce it came with.I was alone so I ate at the bar. Probably not a good idea. I would have swore the menu said my meal came with bread but I had to ask for it after I ate my salad. Even then it was a chore because she was said she would have to find someone to cut it.I got there around 8:25pm. The kitchen closes at 9pm, which I felt came me plenty of time. I felt like I was intruding because the bartender (Kim) kept complaining how they were never going to get done, or never get to go home, or it was too busy and she was supposed to clock out in a half an hour. It made for a very, unpleasant dining experience. Be happy you have a job and that the restaurant is busy. The busier they are, the more money everyone makes.

Been eating here for years, ever since I was a kid and my parents bowled a couple doors down at Bories Bowland every Tuesday night until they shut the place down. Me and my brother would always have some kind of hustle going on from a young age, and this was one of our favorite places to eat, so much so that we would spend our own money on a Burger each and if we had enough we would get three and slit the extra one. Ive been eating there for 40+ years now. Although its alot harder to get together with my brother as much as we would like to nowadays with families and life happening, but we always talk about the bowling alley and the Ido to this day when we get together. And yes we still order 3 to this day and still split that third one.
We have been coming here for years. We love it. They offer a nice menu and good drink selection. Service is always good. Its a nice casual place. They offer specials and different seasonal type stuff. The fried pickles are amazing!

Very casual, homey feel. Staff was attentive and polite. The server did say that they did not have chocolate milk so my niece and nephew got milk but then they got chocolate syrup with their ice cream. I know its been a while for me, but what happens when you mix milk and chocolate syrup? If it was busy than I would understand we were one of four tables at the time. Not a depiction of the restaurant, just that one server being lazy.
This place is excellent!! If you are looking for delicious real food then you have to come here. The people are nice and it has a really nice down to earth atmosphere. If I could eat here every week I would!!!! My favorite is the Missys Chicken Sandwhich :) Reasonable prices as well! Check it out one time and you wont be disappointed.

Amazing food and really good service. Went for their Mardi Gras specials and had the Peacemaker which is a shrimp and oyster poboy. The bread was very fresh and the shrimp and oysters were tasty. It was served with onion straws which were amazing. Our waitress, Karen, was wonderful. She had a great personality and made our time there fun. Definitely will be back to try their prime rib on an upcoming weekend.
My husband and I have been eating at the Ido for years. The food id consistently good, and so is the service. Prices are reasonably. Specials are great. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic dive bar in akron with excellent food. Their all you can eat fish on Fridays is very tasty and its 9.99 for fries bread and hot rice with coleslaw. They also have walleye and lake perch for lent. Definitely recommend!
We had no clue where to eat dinner and found this from a Google search. We were visiting friends nearby and was SO glad we had dinner here.Stuffed mushrooms delicious.My salmon was parmesan crusted and delicious.His steak with the bleu cheese (and I forgot everything else) was AMAZING.We live in Pennsylvania and he wants to visit again for the steak!Our waitress KK was the greatest!We cant wait to visit again.

We love the food! BUT when we called to place our order (we order from here almost every week) the girl who answered told us it was too busy for her to take our order and told us to call back. I understand being busy but I’ve never heard of a restaurant telling someone to “call back” then they never answered when we did :( unfortunately have to find another place to eat..
First time in the place tonight. No doubt about it the food is great however I have the Capenelli and it wasnt very good. Wasnt offered anything different or discounted. I wasnt looking for a discount just saying nothing was offered after I said it wasnt good. Also prices being great could be up for debate. I ordered a summer shandy which came in a tiny 12oz mug and was charged $5.25. I get 24oz around akron for $6- $7. I will go back and try other things for sure
Idos isnt very well known restaurant just south of Akron Ohio. Their food is always good, but like everything else its getting expensive to go there.
If you have never been here this place is incredible with amazing dishes and dinners that will.blpw your mind!!!

This building had been in Firestone Park forever. This is the best the food has ever been. Your going to pay a little more, but it is so worth it. Dont judge this book by its cover. Open it up and give it a try.
High ceilings and no carpet made it to noisy. Sat at a booth across from another couple and could barely hear them. Food was edible but nothing outstanding. Service was excellent.

Either the good reviews came from people that work at Ido, or my wife and I caught this establishment on a bad day. We stopped in on my birthday and advised staff that several attempts to join the birthday club has failed and the response was hummm, there have been several complaints about that - NO RESOLUTION. The waitress was good, the food was mediocre at best, we have been there a few other times and it was the same way, non hospitable. As with other establishments, we gave Ido Café more than one visits, they have all been undesirable and there will not be a next time.
Fun place for lunch. Their wide variety of hamburgers are half price on Wednesday. Oddly, the bar side was relatively quiet, the restaurant side extremely loud. Glad I chose the bar side.

Went there for a little family gathering. Everyone was happy with the service and the food was fantastic. I had the almond crusted chicken, and BOY WAS IT GOOD!

I ordered from Ido recently for my parents anniversary using Postmates Delivery Service. After waiting an hour, the order was cancelled. We were bummed that we waited so long but instead I decided to call Ido & see if we could place another order through them. When I called I tried to explain that I had just placed an order on Postmates & that it had been cancelled...immediately the man who answered the phone began to get very hostile with me & told us to stop calling (I guess he had recieved multiple calls that night regarding Postmates) I tried to tell him that this was my FIRST TIME calling & that I just wanted to place another order because this is what my parents wanted to eat. My mom was in the room during this phone call & it quickly turned into a screaming match with my mom not liking the way he was yelling at her teenage daughter. The worker hung up on us. I called back shortly after & tried to re-explain because he never gave us the chance during the call. He told me not to use Postmates to make orders & order directly through Ido. He was much more relaxed the 2nd time but never apologized for his attitude. Idk what exactly the issue is btw them & Postmates. We ultimately decided not to eat here. My advice for the bar is that they practice their patience & customer service skills. No matter WHAT issues they may have had that night they should not have responded the way they did. You never know what type of business you are turning away & how much influence they have.
Very noisy. Floor vent right beside my booth bench was blasting cold air. Difficult to hear waitress & have table conversation. confusing menu. Food is average to better than average.
Great atmosphere awesome bartenders and waitresses just a fantastic place to go in and enjoy a really good meal. Really enjoy their daily specials.
The food was spectacular! I wouldve never expected to find such fresh fish dishes in the middle of the city. The wait was long, out the door and the parking lot was packed! But very worth it

This is an old place going back to the time when all the factories were running 24/7. The food is very good and they have a large variety. They advertise in the Akron Beacon Journal every week. Not much parking.

I will never go back after today. I had been there before for a few drinks and liked it overall. Today I took my kids for a meal and the service was so attrocious I will never go back. We entered, tried to find a table on the bar side but all three empty tables were reserved. Someone told us to head to the other side of the restaurant, so we did. We found a table and sat down only to be acosted by the hostess there. We didnt see the stand but were basically told to get out of the booth we were in. I apologized and said we were told to come over here. She said By who? To which I replied I dontt know.. Sh again told us we could not sit there so we quickly went back over to the bar side before she got physical (haha). Once at the bar we were asked if we were waiting on a table. When I said no I was told they couldnt serve kids at the bar. Despite this Bing prior to the dinner rush and trying three different spots we were essentially denied service, and incredibly rudely on the part of the hostess. They will never get another dime of my money.

I have not been in years, but this is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I moved out of state for a few years so I plan to come back there within the next few weeks since Ive returned! I cant wait!

One star is way too much. Possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced. They sat a table of seven after us and never acknowledge us being there. The table of seven was served and finished there dinner before our food even came. Waitress wouldn’t even look at us. Never again Place sucks

Pretty pricey for what you get. Dont know if they specialize in something? Just a regular meal. Be warned that they charge a dollar extra if you order bleu cheese dressing! WOW!

Doesnt look like much from the outside but when you go in and read their food menu you would be shocked. They serve great tasting food, its very nice in side and cleanStaff members are very nice and all around a nice environment to be in. I would reccomend giving this place a try to everyone.

So I go there for dinner and before going I checked out the menu and the prices also called to inquire about the daily specials after being seated and looking at the menu realize that the prices listed on the menu are 10.00 dollars higher then the price on website ask waitress why prices are so high and she said that is the price we are selling the foods for and dont know what to tell you needless to saying wont be back

2022-01-19The food was wonderful the ambiance had this warm/romantic vibe and the food was very good. On arrival ( bar side) we werent greeted for about 10 minute or even welcomed in which almost turned me away. Otherwise our experience was pretty good and Id recommend it.

2022-06-21I havent been here in years! But we went for lunch today and this was the pork chop dinner. With obviously onion rings and macaroni and cheese. It was very delicious and I have enough for a second meal out of it! Our server was very nice today, Tuesday the 22nd, at 1 p.m.. well definitely go back soon 😋

2022-03-25Like the phone booth on Doctor Who, it looks much bigger on the inside than it does from the outside. I found the barmaid and waitresses to be friendly and the service was fast. I did not eat there but I have many friends that rave about the food, especially the sliders. They are good friends so I take there word as gospel. I definitely plan on going there again.

2022-02-07I used to come here all the time pretty good atmosphere and great food. All up until a couple years ago. Me and my friend came about 15 minutes before close time my friend asked for chicken I asked for a taco salad. My taco salad came out so quick. It wasn’t that much ground beef on it and it looked weird. I went to dig into it it was so salty I mean extra salty and beef was a weird texture like it had already been cooked as well like it was a hamburger before they gave it to me. It had to be and they just put a extra amount of salt on it to seasoned it to make it seem like it was just made I told my friend like this is nasty. As I looked around I seen one of the workers acting like she cleaning but peaking at me that’s when I knew something was wrong and she obviously knew they sold me a old cut up burger. I got so mad I just left it there and told my friend I didn’t want it and I would never eat there again. You don’t play with peoples food. Sickening

2022-04-08We definitely wont be going back to the Ido Bar and Grill. We called on Thursday and made a reservation for Friday. They took our phone number. They had our name. No one called. However, we got there after driving 45 minutes in rush hour traffic only to be told well, I dont know who would have told you you had a reservation. They made no effort to accommodate our group. We even offered to sit at two separate tables. There were seven of us. But no, they wouldnt even honor the reservation by breaking up our group into two separate tables. We wont be going back and I seriously doubt that anyone that I speak with will believe that they have a reservation whether they do or they dont. They could have the best food in the world, but if they dont care that they are wasting peoples time and ruining their evening, it really doesnt matter. Id give them a negative star if I could.

2022-03-23Ordered carryout tonight. Fries were hardly cooked. We were told the burgers should be cooked med well. They are med rare at best. When you add your items to the cart, it shows the sale price, but that goes away when you check out. When we called, all they said is they would remake it. No apologies or anything. Very disappointed.
