Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse in other cities:
I went to this place 9/17 9/18 9/20 the 17th was good that’s why I went back on the 18th and it was ok experience besides me telling them I did not want Ceaser dressing and having to travel back to get it fixed. So the cheesecake was so good I came back a 3rd day and I want to say nope I will not be back! One the salad was really thin I had to ask for more salad mix. Then I checked the cheeses cake and it was mold on it !!! I went in side and she said she was sorry and she went to the back to get me new ones. She said she checked them but obviously not because when I got halfway home still mold on my she cheesecake white furry spots ... which would be the start of it sitting you can tell when cheesecake is old the crust is mushy and west and there is dew that starts to form and that exactly what I had ! I wish I would of checked before I left because I definitely would of got my money back this not ok with me! I don’t know if they thought that I wouldn’t care but I do and this it not how your treat your guest carry out or dining in! I could of gotten sick if I was not a picky person about my food! If you read this check your cheesecake cake that has been sitting to long smh!!
Hyde Park continues to be one of my favorite steakhouses in Columbus. I prefer my steak medium rare and they do not disappoint. All steaks are topped with butter which blends perfectly with the slight char of the meat. My favorite cut here is the ribeye. Dont ruin it with sauce! If you need to drown your steak for some moronic reason head to Smith & Wollensky. You cant go wrong with any potatoe side, but I recommend the aug gratin which you share with friends at the table. You will get bread for the table; jump on the pretzel bread first or ask for extra. I typically skip the apps as the dinner is rather filling by itself. If I had to choose I would select the lobster bisque. The desserts are just ok and would expect more from a high end restaurant. Pass on the tempting cheesecake and select one of the other cake options. The lava cake they used to have was my go-to, but now I typically pass on dessert. I am there for the steak anyways. The Henderson Rd location is my favorite as the atmosphere feels old schools. Downtown is very trendy and hip. Dublin feels upscale. The meals are all the same just the ambience is different. If I am ranking Steak Houses in Columbus that I have been... (1) Hyde Park, (2) Avenue (3) Eddie Merlot - best desserts (4) J. Gilberts (5) The Top... Last place S&W.
We sat at the bar and had dinner. I was driving, so no alcohol, but the food was fantastic. The only thing Id mention is that the Bleu cheese on the steak woody was overpowering. I scraped it off and the remnants were perfect. The steak was ridiculously tender and the bacon flavor was light, but delicious. Also, if youre a fan of Caesar with anchovies, the Caesar here was perfect!
Steak was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. I would not recommend french fries they are not steak fries they taste more like the new Wendys french fries. Both asparagus and creme brulee were delicious. Service was just ok. We received minimal attention. We could hear the other tables around us getting the daily special and other conversation we did not get from our server. He told us he was swamped.
Everything was good. This is a slower pace, no rushing. Time to talk with your dining companions. Servers are very attentive, they work as a team. If your water glass is empty the next person that walks by will fill your glass. Side are large enough for two. Baked potato weighed 1 pound. We found the background music a bit to much on the bouncy side considering the environment. Steaks were cooked perfectly.
Highly disappointed. We had a 5:30 reservation that we made through open table. We reserved bar seating through the app. Upon arrival the hostess notified us that bar seating is not at the bar through the OpenTable app. So they sat us at one of the tables within the bar area. The happy hour at Hyde park is between 4 to 6 PM. We were sat at our table at 5:30 however we were not greeted by our server until 5:50.Which gave us 10 minutes to order a drink and our food during happy hour. We were not presented with a happy hour menu either when we were seated so I asked the hostess for one because we were sitting at a table in the bar and requested bar seating through the app, but the hostess informed me that the tables in the bar we’re not part of happy hour and could not receive happy hour pricing. We have been coming to Hyde Park for many years, I came here for my prom date when I was 17, over 20 some years ago. This by far was the most disappointing experience lack of communication and clearly miss leading information.
A steak house of excellence. I have eaten at several of the Hyde Park restaurants. This is the oldest in Columbus and still my favorite. From the moment you walk in until you leave you feel welcomed and appreciated. The menu is steak centric, however there are other offerings that I am sure are equally delicious. The escargot is excellent and a great starter. All side dishes are quite shareable and I cant describe how delicious they were. My favorite was the Gratin potatoes but the asparagus, Brussels sprouts and whipped potatoes were equally delightful. But the filet, oh the filet- it was the best Ive ever had. Tender, juicy and full of rich aged beef flavor with nary a sign of fat or gristle. Excellent wine menu that is easy to navigate with prices you would expect from a 5 star bovine shrine such as this. The dessert menu is simplistic, but well executed. We devoured the flourless chocolate cake, then got two orders to go. Great staff, incredible food, a wonderful experience. The bar is now very high for our next stop.
Really want to give like 3.5 stars:Pros: Good service from our server, Tim. Au gratin potatoes were amazing! The cake with the bananas (cant remember exact name) was delicious too.Cons: For a steakhouse, I thought my NY strip was sub par. Lobster mac and cheese was didnt have much flavor nor much lobster. Garlic mashed potatoes were pretty basic too
Okay, this is both a difficult review...and a simple one. Difficult because I dont know how to describe a perfect dining experience, as this is the first one Ive ever had. Easy, because it was perfect.I chose Hyde Park for my wifes birthday dinner, just her and I. Now, my record when choosing restaurants by myself is dubious. Sometimes its a hit, often times its not. With this being her birthday, and a milestone birthday at that, I had to make as near a perfect choice as possible. So, yeah, Ive been wracking my brain for the better part of a week. Had to be the right combination of intimacy, service, ambiance, and quality of food. Hyde Park delivered in spades. Our server, Jamal, was the definition of quality and kind and personable service. He could give classes, he was so good. The food was second to none. The atmosphere was sophisticated without being pretentious. As I said at the beginning, a perfect dining experience!
My wife and I went there for our anniversary. Enjoyed the Arlington location much more than dowtown. Great food, fantastic staff, and quite safety consious. We were seated beside the fireplace, with a card and rose petals on the table for the occasion. Everything perfect. It was our first visit to this location, but we are heading back to check out their happy hour this week.Thank you for making our anniversary wonderful.
The manager and staff went above and beyond to help make a very special evening for my family. I can’t thank them enough. Kids menu, creation of extra dish for my son, gluten free menu, specially prepared gluten and dairy free dessert off menu, delicious food, selection of table day before with private room and fireplace, chilling bottle of sparkling cider to go with an excellent bottle of champagne, and assistance with pictures to make a wonderful marriage proposal. Thanks again!!!
This place was amazing! The cozy atmosphere paired well with the delicious cuts of meat and live jazz accompanying our meal. We celebrated the birthday of my wife and her twin brother, both of which really enjoy steak, and no one was disappointed. Along with our perfectly cooked to order steaks, we got an assortment of sides and everything was wonderful. Wed made a reservation for the event and the table was waiting for us when we arrived. The staff was very kinda and attentive and made it a point to make sure the celebration was special. I could go on at lengths about this place but suffice it to say it was an excellent experience and we will certainly be back.
Booked a table on sat 2/13 for a nice valentines dinner. I wish we had picked a different place. I ordered a med cooked filet and received a well done steak. My waitress knew the people at the next table, and continued to carry a conversation with them for nearly 10 minutes instead of checking on us. I had my steak pushed to the side and wasnt eating, waiting on her to finish up her talk with her friends. They were her friends, I heard all about their hobbies, kids and the waitresses husband. Very unprofessional. The worst part is she glanced over several times and ignored me and that fact that my plate was pushed to the side. When she finally came to our table my fiance was finishing up with his ribeye. The manager came by and offered to take the steak off of my check and someone from the kitchen told us that dessert was on the house. I thought that was really great that they were going to do that, since our meal together was ruined. We ordered red velvet cake, which taste like it had been sitting in a refrigerator uncovered. The cheesecake with the black cherry sauce was really good. When the bill came, we were charged for the steak. The steak that I had took 2 bites out of, bc I wanted to continue my meal and just have dessert with my date. Also, our 2 hr time limit on the table was almost up. We didnt bother to complain about it, we were already feeling uncomfortable bc we had to send back a filet in a quality steakhouse. I chose this Hyde Park bc this is the one I started coming to over 20 yrs ago, and remembered it being small and romantic. I wish I had chose one closer to home, bc this experience was so bad I dont think I will ever eat at Hyde Park again.
How does one begin to describe the utter decadence of such perfection in cooking. As I write this I am still purring with total and complete bliss. The NY Strip with mushrooms and garlic was easily the most incredible steak Ive had the joy and pleasure of eating. Cooked to a delicious rare with a dark red center that was incredibly melt in your mouth Joy. Mmmmm. Perfection. The wide cut lamb chops melted in our mouths with a sauce that is quite incomparable to anything else Ive ever had the pleasure of tasting. The lobster Mac n cheese was a gift from the gods. The Brussel sprouts were unbelievably flavourful and so delicious that I would have asked for more if I werent burning full from the rest of our meal. But truly the crowning grace and glory of our night was dessert. The Red Velvet cake was rich, smooth, and so incredibly melt in your mouth perfection that I almost cried for want of another bite. And then there was the New York Cheese Cake with its intoxicatingly sweet sauce... I have truly died and found paradise in food form. Thank you for the most exquisite dinner!!!
I came here for my belated birthday celebration last night. We were seated in the back when a very loud anniversary part came in. The waitress was so gracious in moving us to a different table that was quieter. We were impressed with everything from thr service, the food, and the drinks. I had the steak griffin, the steak was like butter and the sauce was amazing. Their pretzel bread sticks are also fabulous. We shared the brussel sprouts and potatoes gratin between 3 if us, they were amazing and we still had enough to take home for leftovers. For $1.95 you can add their house salad, my mom was expecting it to be a tiny plate of greens with dressing but it was the same size as my caeser salad that was $9 and it was nice mix of greens and toppings. They jumbo sea scallops with lemon sauce that was the special for the night were also amazing. Every person who interacted with us said happy birthday to me and they gave me a complimentary dessert. The whole experience was perfect!! 10/10 highly recommend for special occasions.
A fantastic evening. We celebrated our 48th anniversary and the choice of restaurants could not have been better. From the hostess to the manager to our waiter we were made to feel special. The food was delicious and if anything we ate a little too much. We never got the feeling that the waiter was trying to turn the table. The waiter can make a good meal- great.
We went there for the first time and were very happy that we went early (5:00 pm). The bar was hopping and it was already pretty full. Parking when we left was totally full. The service was great and our waiter was friendly but professional. The noise level from the bar was a bit high but the ambience of the room where we are seated was very nice, with a cozy fireplace in the corner. Plan to spend quite a bit for your dinner entree. It was an a la carte menu, and the cost of side dishes is high. Our fish selections were cooked very nicely and the side salad included a good selection of vegetables. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.
Oh my gosh the waitress should have just sat down and dined with us. She was on it!!! We wanted for nothing! The food fawsome. For those of you who dont know what that is....FABIOUSLY AWESOME!! I had the surf and turf, both worlds ya know??? It was so so good. The steak was so tender cooked EXACT and the lobster well it was lobster with melted butter, need i say more??? Generous portions. What an experience!!
I took my wife to the Upper Arlington location and originally had a reservation for 6:15pm, but we discovered that we would be free much sooner, so we bumped our reservation up to 4:45pm. This was our first visit to any Hyde Park location, for our first anniversary, no less, and Im very happy this is what i decided on.We were welcomed promptly and escorted to our table where our server Greg poured our water and introduced himself. We were one of his first tables for the night, so it was still very peaceful in the section. Throughout the evening, Greg proved to be a great entertainer, guide through the menu, and overall joy to have serving us.My wife ordered the steak Tressel,14 oz strip with mushrooms and garlic cloves, cooked a little less than medium-rare, or rare push as Greg recommended. I ordered the steak Herbstreit, a 22 oz bone in ribeye, medium rare. We ordered a caesar salad, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, and garlic whipped mashed potatoes. The steaks were perfect and beyond description and all of the add-ons were very good. Greg and Desiree did a fantastic job, and i will definitely return to this location in the future. You will pay more here than if you go to some of the very commercial chains, but the experience and attention to every detail are worth it. Job medium-rare(well done) team!!
Dined there to celebrate my sons birthday. There were 5 of us on a Saturday evening. We had been here multiple times earlier in life and wanted to treat my son to a wonderful birthday dinner. I checked reviews and this location had the best so we decided to try it again. We arrived early for a 6 pm reservation and had difficulty finding a parking space in a small, dimly lit lot. We were seated promptly. Given the price of the meals and the appearance of wait staff we would have expected superior service. It was slow and we were not certain if it was due to kitchen or service staff. Drinks were superb, shrimp cocktails too but the rest of the meal we felt was average at best. All high grade-steak purchases. Some steaks were actually tough. The Kosar topping was good. We did gave a great chance to visit but the timing between water, drinks, apps, entree and dessert was slow and frustrating. We could have predicted this when we walked past the kitchen to be seated and the service staff were lined up at the counter. They handed us a card to celebrate the birthday but that was all. We have been to other establishments that offer free desserts to share. It may have been a bad night for them but expensive for us. We did receive a voicemail to review our experience but did not call back. Too expensive and too many great choices to give this location another try.
We just had a lovely meal with great service and wonderful food. We were celebrating my birthday and our 33rd wedding anniversary and the staff had decorated our table with rose petals and a card. As usual, the food was perfect and the staff was very attentive and excellent. This continues to be our “go-to”. Place for special occasions and when we want a great steak.
Ive been coming to this location since the late 2000s. Before that, we use to dine at the Crosswoods location before it closed. I have NEVER had poor service and never waited for a table since we always make a reservation. Over the years, weve come to Greg as OUR server. He is always so warm and welcoming and I always request him.On my most recent experience, while dining with my boys on Dec 23rd, dinner was on point, as usual. My son (13), who has a very adventurous and some times uneducated appetite, ordered a Shrimp Cocktail. He loves Shrimp and just assumed hed like this. He didnt realize it was served cold. Greg was kind enough to remove it from our table without shaming my son and also removed it from our bill. I wouldnt have minded paying for something, unbeknownst to me, he hadnt had before. Our entrees all arrived at the same time and my steak was perfectly grilled to Medium Rare Push with a side of Bearnaise *YUM* The Scalloped Potatoes are to be shared, but I kindly warned my boys that this is for momma. When it was time to pay, my card was declined!!! Turns out, my card was compromised, and I was COMPLETELY embarrassed not to have another form of payment. Considering Greg has come to know me over the years, he reassured me not to worry and went to get the manager. The manager was also very reassuring and gave me his card and said to give him a call once it was worked out. For a place to be so understanding, especially when the bill is over $200, is amazing to me. I love this place for their kind service, amazing food, and fun atmosphere.
Great atmosphere. Top notch service. The steak i had was not carefully selected. It had to much gristle for a porterhouse steak. I t was properly cooked however. The lobster bisque was fantastic. The spinach and mushrooms were overly salted, absolutely no need for sea salt. The dish wasnt creative. It was simply sauteed. The cheesecake tasted packaged but the cherry sauce was divine.
Their bone-in fillet is as good a steak if not better than any Ive tried. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere at all locations is outstanding. I particularly like the Henderson Rd. location because it is the most romantic atmosphere in my opinion. The downtown location is very hip and modern. I have never regretted a trip to Hyde Park.
Went to this place after hearing decent things about the other locations. As we went in having reservations @ 6:45 waited until about 8:15 to speak to the manager. He came out and had nothing to say but sorry and theyll have the food out soon. we talked to a couple sitting at the table by us saying wine was better than food after 30 minutes of more waiting we ended up leaving. we waited 2 hours for drinks and bred. Horrible experience wouldnt recommend this place and will never be back!
Atmosphere was good, wait staff was excellent, drinks and sides were fine(including trying escargot for the first time). But the actual steak itself was nothing to write home about. I was expecting a bit more from a $41 bone-in ribeye. It was undercooked slightly and did not have the flavor I was hoping for. I should be fair in saying that I thoroughly enjoy grilling at home on my charcoal or cast iron, so my idea of a great steak might be higher than some others. I guess my review comes down to the price... I feel that I could have bought and grilled a much better steak myself for less.Update: The manager personally reached out to me to discuss what they could have done better and how to improve in the future. I thought this was very professional and I appreciated the willingness to improve. My wife and I will definitely be back for dinner in the future.
My husband and I come to Hyde Park every year to celebrate our anniversary and birthdays. Last night we went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. When we go there we always order the 12 oz rib-eye and last night both of our steaks had a large amount of fat in them. We expect marbling and enjoy it throughout the steak but last night most of our steaks were fat. This was also the first time we weren’t offered a complimentary dessert when celebrating a birthday. On a positive note, the sides were delicious as they always are. We also sat close to the band, which we really enjoyed and we were thankful we were given that option.
Came here with my family last night to celebrate my graduation. We had to wait an hour before they even brought our drinks. Finally ordered, and waited another hour and a half for food that never came. The couple at the table next to us also complained saying the wine was better than their food. We all got up & walked out. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. And won’t be back. Not to mention we had reservations.
This was my first time there for dinner, and the food was incredible! The service was also excellent, although I would have thought that when we left amd I said have a good night to the two gentlemen at the host/hostess stand, that I would have at least received maybe a look in the eye or a heartfelt reply, instead of the snooty silence of indifference that I got from the one gentleman in the white coat?
Fortunately, Ive never spent my own money here (always been treated for family events). The steaks are good, but in the 2 times Ive been there they havent gotten my order right. The first time, I ordered my steak medium and it came out almost alive. The second time, I ordered a steak with one of their signature sauces on it and it came out without it. Ill be passing on further invites here. Poor attention to detail.
Went with a small group for a retirement party. Several in our party had to send steaks back. Mine was basically raw, sent it back, still not right. One of the family style sides arrived after most were finished eating. As this was on the company, I sincerely hope that our group experience was reflected on the bill. Not being a fan of valet parking, that was the only option that night. Usually not a deal breaker for most I suppose. Very disappointed. Have been to the Frantz Rd location several times and everything is always spot on. Will not do the Old Henderson location again.
Great atmosphere in this high end steakhouse. Wine great, service great, bread and side items great. Steak frankly was only average. Of a quality I would expect at a chain style place. I asked for medium rare with a push, steak was way past that, I would say medium with a push, and the cut was not as good as I would have expected for the price we paid.
Great atmosphere and even better service. Staff was on top of everything and genuinely engaging. The steaks for our dinner were cooked to perfection. The only thing I would change would be the free valet parking as the parking lot is small to begin with and I would rather not have others drive my car.
Ive been here three times, and I only had good food one of the three times. The wedge salad is fantastic, the steaks are above average, although they seem to have issues with hitting a perfect medium rare. Most recently, I ordered a burger medium, and it was totally dry, cooked past well-done. The lobster mac and cheese, while very flavorful, has trace amounts of lobster, and is not really cheesy the way I like mac and cheese; rather it is more like pasta in a cream sauce. I probably would not order it again. The fries and onion straws have both been solid each time Ive gone. They do have a good selection of wines to go along with the meats.Service is very cordial. You get greeted at the door, at the host stand, and servers are attentive with drinks.
Service and atmosphere was excellent. Kansas city bone in steak cooked medium rare was one of the toughest steak I have ever ordered. If it wasnt for my company, I would have sent it back to the kitchen. Took it home, tried it again the next day. No better. Down the garbage disposal it went.
No Calamari and the bartender treated me an my 2 friends not so good. He was not attentive, did not clear out plates timelt and waiting until all of his other customers left, i mean paid bills and all before he once again acknowledged us. Sad part is, we are black n so was he. We all noticed the start difference in how he treated us verses them. This we always expect from OUR people. I live in walking distance to this location and thought this would be my new hangout. Sadly, since i love Hyde Park everything an all locations (except my first visit and last at this location) i now drive 4 miles or so to Dublin. They treat me well.
Excellent service and the steaks, as always, was perfect. The original Columbus Hyde Park in Upper Arlington is romantic and always a great place to take a date. I had filet and lobster tail this trip and could not have been more please. My date cant stop thanking me.
Have been here multiple times in the past with great experiences. On 12/14 we had a party of 8 with a group of friends for a Christmas get-together. Service was downright awful. First round of drinks took over 10 minutes to get to the table, had to chase the waiter to keep our drinks full, had to ask for menus after sitting for 20 minutes, leftovers got swept away without offering to box them, ignored our table when we didnt want to order deserts, split the checks in the wrong way and then got annoyed when we asked to fix it.disappointed in a place we could always count on for great service.Regards,Justin
Classic steakhouse worth a visit. This location is quieter and more intimate, something I really value. Service and food are well above average, with real passion for good food and service. The well-stocked bar offers delicious and imaginative cocktails. Visit the bar side during happy hour for outstanding food and drink bargains.
Just a phenomenal experience tonight for my fathers bday. This is his favorite restaurant in Columbus (Henderson Rd. location) and they did not disappoint. Very attentive and kind server (I think named Craig) and the food was on point even more than usual. I often get slightly let down when getting a wagyu or filet elsewhere but the 12 oz. Steak Kosar I had tonight was perhaps the best steak Ive ever had (definitely among the best) and more affordable than some of the other high end steak offerings in the city!
From the king crab appetizer to the waygu filet and raspberry sorbets everything was amazing and prepared to perfection! The service was attentive but not pushy and the atmosphere was comfortable. We super enjoyed our first visit to Hyde Park and will definitely return!
Service was very, very good. I was disappointed with my filet. It was butterflied and because of this lost it juices. Also there was quite a bit of sinew in the meat. My husbands dish was prepared properly but he didnt care for it but that was no fault of the restaurant.
By far our favorite steakhouse in Columbus and Cleveland. The food quality is everything you would hope it would be at that price point. The customer service is second to none. My only regret is that we don’t eat their more often and that the Worthington location is closed.
The Bergdoll clan love this dining spot. Cozy and always so welcoming. Adam drives greatness- he greets you at the door and you will find him delivering delicious fare at the table in concert w waiters. Managing a great experience w a welcoming smile. Waiters are more than accommodating and constantly striving for perfect service.I havent mentioned the food to this point- because, I assume that you know that they have totally nailed it for decades. Perfect steaks and fish dishes meet your expectations. Just a classic steakhouse that makes you feel at home.Highly recommend. Adam will be at the door to greet you.M Todd Bergdoll.
Valet spots are blocked off right in front when the parking lot is 40 yards max in every direction, is valet really necessary; oh wait it is since valet has blocked off the the close spots. Yes, it is free but now $3 tip for allowing to park 20 ft away. Our service was sad, my wife sympathized and said you never know what the waiter is going through but is was sad; we had to steel silverware from the next empty table since we did not get any and food was getting cold , forgot 2 parts of the order/ or perhaps kitchen did screw up?, had to steel my water from my wife since few refills apparently. Food was off: soup was lukewarm, asparagus was drowned in olive oil, molten cake was over baked and not flavorful (just went to Barcelona, with stuffy nose, and had theirs and still it tasted better). We had 1 side, 3 apps and 1 dessert, 3 drinks did not help, and bill was 87. Oh, wine by glass selection had favorites, I looked up on phone the fav was given an 85. Ordered 18 a glass that was good but not that good to be the most price glass. Wine must have very high markup and I understand markup is usually double retail.
I brought my fiance to hyde park on the recommendation of a friend. I was absolutely blown away by the service, and the quality of the food. I called in for reservations, and the very polite hostess asked if I was celebrating anything. I casually mentioned that it was my fiances birthday. When we pulled up we were greeted by a wonderful valet, free of charge, (had I known, I would have washed the car,) we were then escorted inside by the hostess. I told her of our reservations and she immediately offered a hearty Happy birthday! and showed us to our table. We ordered wine and shrimp cocktail while we perused the vast menu. Everything was well described and mouth-wateringly tantalizing. We each chose a cut of meat and a side. I chose the wedge salad, and I must say that it was one of the finest salads I have ever had. One of the specials was Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. She chose this as her side, and the waiter remarked that this side, by itself, was worth the trip to the restaurant. Let me assure you, he was a straight shooter. This was exceedingly delicious. I havent even mentioned the steaks! We both had them Tressel Style, with cloves of garlic and sauteed mushrooms. Outstanding. After all of this, our waiter brought over a very large slice of chocolate cake with a solitary candle on top. He said, this is for the birthday girl, and if you dont like chocolate, I would be happy to fetch anything else from our dessert menu. Suffice to say, the cake was beyond expectations. Even more astounding was the fact that it was not reflected on the bill. In summation, I dont have the kind of money it takes to eat here weekly, but if I did, rest assured, I would dine here as often as fiscally possible. I plan to request a trip to Hyde Park for my next celebratory outing.
Me and my 3 best buddies have a tradition every Valentines to take our wives out for a special dinner, we essentially do our best to make it special...we make the reservations, find sitters for the kids..its a big deal!...at any rate for the 2014 Valentines, I called on 1/30/14 and reserved for a table for 8 in the jazz lounge for dinner at 7pm on 2/15/14, matter of fact I called twice that day just to make sure I have a table in the jazz lounge, they did mention they may not have a table big enough for 8 so I suggested 2 separate reservations one for 6 and another 2, which they did agree to. I got a call on 2/13/14 at 3.14pm confirming my reservation. On the material day (2/15/14) we arrived all set for a wonderful experience only for them to check their list and tell me they did not have my name or number in their reservation list. Well, I pulled my phone and showed them the log for the incoming call I received 2 days prior, they looked at the number and told me that it is not their number, which obviously made me look like a liar....I decided to dial the number right there and then and guess what? the phone right behind the check in counter rings, they pick it and and proceed to answer and I go..thats you answering my call! ......... The thing that annoyed me the most was the gentleman (I assume he is/was the manager, but did not identify himself as such) seemed quite unapologetic, just repeating that they have prepared a table for us in the main dinning area and we can have it if we want it...we ended up taking the table because we were determined to have a good evening.... but you can be sure we will neither be going back there nor recommending this restaurant to anyone...Just to be fair the lady who sat us was really wonderful and apologized profusely for the mess and did a great job trying to defuse the situation...the servers were also wonderful and so was the Valet.

2022-04-24The very best in town. Food, service & atmosphere. The Rahal Ribeye with gratin potatoes is spectacular. Great wine and drink selections. Hands down its the best Columbus has to offer. A must try!

2022-03-25My husband and I went for the first time on Thursday and it was a phenomenal experience. I got the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Everything we ate was amazing, including their $1.95 house salad! We also received complimentary shrimp cocktail for a basically non-existent “wait” on our steaks, which was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. Our server was so friendly and really went above and beyond for us for our first visit. We will definitely be back!

2021-07-19Weve been to Hyde Park dozens of times, but the service we received for our anniversary dinner this weekend was out of the park good. They really went out of their way to make our night special. The food was excellent as always, though my Mrs. thought her strip steak was just a bit tough. My fillet was awesome as was everything else. Thank you to the manager Phil and our great server and the staff for making our anniversary meal one we wont soon forget!

2022-01-24One of our favorite hideaways. Perfect steakhouse ambiance with exceptional service. The filet is always on par, but the cosmos and oysters are out of this world!

2022-01-26This was our second time in 14 years. I hate to say but too pricey for us. You have to buy all the extras. I had a salmon salad. It was good but nothing extra special. My husband had a steak. His was good but not great. He loved the mashed potatoes! Brussel sprouts were awesome! Our server was very sweet.

2022-02-14Food was great, service was NOT. My date and I had some waiter that seemed like a drunk. He was so rude! To our table and the other tables he was serving! Everyone was talking about it every time he left. We were in disbelief by how much we’re paying for such bad service. I told the manager and he seemed so nonchalant about it. I felt like I was at outback steak house. They were also playing retail pop music?? Sticking to the downtown Hyde Park location! After I told the nonchalant manager, he did switch my waiter to Collin and Collin is Amazing! He apologized and acted way more caring than the manager. He needs to be working at the downtown restaurant. Period.

2021-06-10Fantastic experience.Went there for my 40th birthday. It will be easy to remember it.Great food. Literally one of only 2 high-end places in Columbus that has managed to get a medium-rare filet mignon right. From the oysters to the bisque to the side dishes: nothing we tried disappointed. The mixed drinks were good and went well with the meal.Staff was great. Ambiance was spot on.👌

2022-06-18Went to Hyde Park for my best friends engagement dinner and everything was phenomenal. Our server, Collin, did an excellent job and made sure everything was perfect. Will definitely be back!
