I went here for the Fan Expo 2022 and it was really cool to see so many people in cosplay. Everyone was really nice and I saw lots of celebrities and voice over actors. The only thing that I didnt like was how ridiculously expensive everything was. A cup of soda was $45.00 bucks!! I didnt even get a chance to order any food or anything because the wait in line was about 20 minutes and even when you get to order the portions are small and their is a strong chance you wont be able to find a place to sit and eat your food. My advice to anyone going to something like this is to just eat before you go there and wait until you leave and then get something to eat elsewhere if you are still hungry.
Ive attended a few conventions in my life, including several at the I-X (International Expo) Center in Cleveland/Brook Park. To be honest, the newer Cleveland Convention Center is not one of my favorites due to the fact that it does not have enough food spots (only 2 little cafes) within and has no vending on the showroom floor or anywhere near. So, during events like Wizard World/Fan Expo, you end up in hours-long lines for over-priced food and hydration . There are zero reasonably priced restaurants or fast food nearby either. If you dont/cant bring water and snacks, youll suffer at an event like the Fan Expo or have to walk a half mile for fast food (bc at some events, youll never get a parking spot again if you leave).Bottom line, call ahead to see if you can bring your own food and drink. If you cant and youre going to be at a crowded event for 8+ hours, youll be hungry and thirsty unless you dont mind spending forever in a food line.
Good convention center. I was actually a vendor at the Nari home improvement expo. Its a very clean open venue. If you ever have a trip scheduled , use the parking garage at 1139 west 3rd street. Its only $10 for 8hrs and there is an indoor catwalk that leads you to the huntington expo center entrance.
A grand and beautiful convention center. 3 massive halls make up this underground arcitechtural wonder. Take a stroll through a ball room for a monumental view of First Energy a Stadium, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center! Connected to the Hilton Cleveland Downtown and the Global Center for Health Innovation, youve got to take a stroll through this new convention center!
Went here for “Tribefest” and this is a very nice place. It is very large and lots of things to do. For Tribefest there were things to do for the kids and some for the adults. Things to purchase and you got to get some autographs and see the players walking around. Fun thing to do by yourself or with the family. Would do it again. The convention center does not have a parking lot but it is handicap accessible and there is public restrooms.
If you have never visited, and you try to find this location on Google maps, do not be surprised when all you see is a big lawn. The entire center is underground. The facilities were generally good, as was the upkeep. Downtown is a short walk, as are the main attractions - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Great Lakes science center. The whole area is pedestrian-friendly, and hotels and restaurants abound.
The large convention center in downtown Cleveland has the unique feature of being completely underground. The roof area is a large grass area popular with dog owners in the downtown area. The slight raise portion of the roof at the entrance of the convention center offers a spectacular view of Lake Erie and the surrounding attractions. The view opposing the lake is downtown Cleveland with a large grass area as foreground.
As far as convention centers go, this place is pretty nice. It has the space you need, the facilities are nee, nice, and clean. Best of all, it is within walking distance of East 4th street where there are some great bars and restaurants! I have always enjoyed the conventions I have been to here, even though they are incredibly nerdy and certainly attract some characters! Heh.
Large convention center, pretty new. Look for the urban farm with pigs, chickens, bees, etc. - its at the north end and visible from the inside. The convention center is underground, and theres a tunnel from the parking garage across the street (follow signs for the Global Center for Health Innovation and the Hilton). My only complaints are that the restrooms sinks are very splashy, one on my last trip had an awful sewer gas smell (I assume because of a dried up p trap), and they need to keep tabs on the inside of their stall doors because religious nuts like to vandalize the convention centers property by taping mindless drivel to their stall doors.
The facility was wonderful! We visited for Walker Stalker Convention and were not disappointed! The staff was incredibly helpful. We enjoyed our time there. Great place for large events. Well organized. It wasnt hot and stuffy like other places can be and the bathrooms were well maintained.
Huge convention center. I was here for PyCon 2018 and for such a huge conference, this center worked really well. The surrounding areas are also good to just walk around and lot of good food options just within 5minutes of walking time. Definitely recommend this if you are looking to host a big or small conference and they have rooms of all sizes. But one of the main suggestions is to not go by the catering provided by the Convention Center. Probably the worst catering food or worst conference food of all the conferences I have been to. Also there are pigs and chicken and a small size farm on the back of one of the views from the huge glass window, which is kind of questionable that is setup that way.
Center was well equiped to handle the needs of a magic the gathering convention I attended. Even with constant use, the facilities were well maintained and the center was well connected to major roadways. You should also appreciate the architecture from outside and walk the nearby park if you get the chance.
The convention center itswlf was very nice, large enough to accommodate extensive conference. This review is for the food. We had a sit down, served lunch and dinner. Both included undercooked vegetables that were more for artistic value than taste. We actually had to google one to find out what it was. Portions where extremely small. Ok for me, but left some of the men in our group looking for food after the events. The Convention center does not let exhibitors bring in food so you must buy theirs. We spent $450 to get 3 tins of popcorn (the tins where old and rusty) not the impression we wanted to make but we were trapped by their rules. Overall not impressed. We have worked with much better venues.
Overall it’s a pretty nice convention center. Plentiful restrooms, large conference halls, good food, etc.My one complaint is the dang faucets in the bathroom. There is absolutely no way to wash your hands without making a gigantic mess of water. The water comes out in multiple high-powered jets and spray everywhere. Also, bring a jacket because many of the rooms are overcooled.
To the naysayers annoyed at your taxes going to build this place, understand that the only times this place is empty is when they are taking down events. The big ones that happen every year are Wizard World ComicCon and the tattoo fest. But that isnt all. There are cons for everything here.
I have attended 2 conventions here now and enjoyed each of them immensely. The facility is huge! The decor is up to date and comfortable with plenty of seating and access to plugs. The acoustics are great. Food and service were great as well. I love the farm - its location is brilliant! I like also the environmental consideration that went into the architecture and the fact that it is connected to a hotel.
A nice convention center, although its a little tough to find a shortcut because they closed off some of the stairs and escalators during the convention I attended. There could be better signage too. I didnt try the concessions but it looked like there was sufficient options for a snack. I really liked the wide hallways which never felt crowded.
Beautifully and newly built, this place will have your mind blown with all of the updated amenities! I like that one side of the building is all glass and that you can see downtown from a different perspective from the top floors! I had a modeling/acting event here and was mind blown!
This place is stunning. Architecturally beautifully designed. The staff doesnt seem to know whats going on. We were there for a beer conference and they werent able to point us in the right direction. The halls are well thought out. The bathrooms were nice. Though the automatic faucets and soap dispensers were a bit temperamental.
This place is massive! Lots of space, and the accessibility of it was incredible. I was able to drive my piano around the facility and had very few problems getting to each floor. Aside from a late-night music playing incident with the security staff, everything else was great.
Really well design Convention Center in Cleveland. The views of it from the surrounding hotels and meeting areas or amazing. It has a really nice landscape of grass and trees on top of it. Very spacious indoor meeting spaces for meetings and food trucks and parties. There were three thousand people at my conference and it easily accommodated all of us. Its close to everything downtown in terms of restaurants and events and historic buildings.
Pretty easy to get around as a conference attendee. Liked how the stairs overlooked exhibit hall space. The grand Ballroom was gorgeous. Like how the space has a green roof. Sucks that there are only two entry points, that I could find. Also, the bathrooms kept running out of soap and paper towels.
Beautiful convention center with a unique design that integrates the building into a park. I havent seen a location like this anywhere else. The spaces seem modern and things were very clean. My main concern would be layout. The rooms are spread out over a wide area that covers multiple tiers. I was able to familiarize myself fairly quickly but if you are directionally challenged Iwould keep a map of the layout handy.
The building itself is nice (huge). They have a greeter at the door to help you get to where you are going (sweetest lady ever, super nice). We were there for Lego and it was really cool. Bathrooms are clean. They had no concessions near/on the main floor open. And when I found a drink vending machine it was $4 for a Gatorade! They did have a small snack stand at the entrance open, but very limited choices.
Great location. Really easy to navigate. Ive gone there quite a few times for different events. However, the bathrooms... lines form but you cant tell if a stall is actually open or not b/c the doors close all the way when they are empty and the bathrooms are so deep down, its hard to tell if there are feet. At my last convention, there were lines of 10-20 women and I started telling them to actually go down and check stalls and there were usually more than 5 still free!! But you cant tell... drives me nuts! They need doors like those on airplanes - where if its locked, it shows a red half circle, and if its free, its green. But that doesnt keep me from attending events there!
The building is absolutely gorgeous. The food service is absolutely awful. The staff is nice, but nice only goes so far when making up for shortages where an entire conference repeatedly runs out of food for 3 days in a row. Catering aside, we had a great experience here and I would love to go back.
Standard convention hall with lots of windows, rooms, and possible options to suit your organizational needs. My organization has host events there and weve been pleased. I know of others who feel the same. Ive also attended events there which I enjoyed so its a great venue.
Events here are always nice but parking becomes a nightmare after the lot fills up. Facilities are nice and open and there are multiple floor levels to house multiple expos simultaneously (forget about parking then) or have multiple sections for a large expo. However, if youre not bothered for a walk and your expo doesnt happen to land on a weekday (if your expo is on a weekday, you WILL be parking somewhere else downtown if you dont get there early by at least half an hour) then you can always park at one of the other complexes or flat lots and take a walk if the garage across from the expo center fills up.
This place was beyond amazing! Came here for the wizard world comic con. One of the best parts was getting a history tour by one of the concierge. He was absolutely amazing I cant quite remember his name however if Im ever back in the area Im sure we will cross paths as he gave alot of tips to getting around the city.!!
This facility was very nice however service in the cafes inside were very so. It just didnt seem very efficient with a large crowd for the convention. Everything was good tasting however waiting in a line 25 minutes when youre on a time schedule is a little much. I feel like in a convention center they should be prepared for this situation.
This place is excellent!!! The Events are great. Its a great place to have your company meetings, showcase. Vendors are welcome. Also its a great place private events such as a wedding or reception. Church banquets etc. Just contact an event planner and they will assist you for your special event.
Overall the hall was huge and very well designed. The only downsides of the hall for the conference I went to was the set up the theaters. Rather than your typical conference with the keynotes happening in a ballroom they set up small theaters throughout the conference with limited seating. Every keynote address I went to was overflowing with people having to sit outside the gates and that made it difficult to hear. They did have headphones to help but they were only for the people within the gates who wouldnt have needed them anyway. As I said overall it was a good place to have a conference but I think I still prefer the ballroom setup for keynotes.
Here for a convention that included food. There would be multiple staff members staying around while lines were out of food. The facility itself is really nice. Clean and spacious with an innovative underground design, so that there is open green space at ground level.
Came for the tattoo convention and it was awesome loved the atmosphere and watching everyone get inked. My bestfriend wanted to get a great tattoo at a good price and i think he achieved that. Will definitely be coming back to more events like this one. If your visiting the Cleveland area i recommend going to an event like this one. Parking was easy to find and not far from the convention thanks for a wonderful time!
Attended a well run, and organized conference for four days here. Lots of signs to help you locate your programs, plenty of bathrooms, a coat check area. Clean, bright, and plenty of places to sit. I liked that there was a Cleveland table to ask questions about food, transportation, etc. I felt welcomed. Lots of hotels in walking distances from convention center.
Modern and very clean. Its always a pleasure to go to events here. Nice touches for catering include drip trays for coffee filled with some coffee beans. They will go the extra mile to make any event special. Built for the RNC and still takes the same care during events.
Went to Pycon 2018 here. Loved the convention center. The entire thing is underground, with a publicly accessible green roof, perfect for outdoor events right in the middle of downtown. The North end of the building has windows that overlook the lake. Really love the spacious design and use of sub-Street level space while still feeling connected to the outside world.
I recently attended a convention at this center and I had a good time. As soon as I entered the center, I didnt know which way to go. I asked their staff at the help desk and I was politely guided to where I was supposed to go. This place is huge and its well maintained. It also connects Hilton which is minutes away. Theres a huge park in front of the convention center which was an amazing spot to relax after the event. Make sure to check out the other park thats located behind the convention center.
Looks like a futuristic airport concord inside. Everything is white and/or silver with large open spaces. Three ballrooms that I saw but all separated by a large atrium-like halls and one huge open area with couches up against the wall every 5ft. Its very unused and unspoiled. The restrooms were pristine.
Large, spacious venue that is well taken care with nice modern decor. We visited the convention center for the Lego Expo. Lots of families (obviously), but only one family bathroom, so a little fustrating when waiting. The family bathrooms could also have 1-2 toddler seats for those littles who are done or waiting.
Facility was great! Clean, cold drinking water, clean bathrooms. Concession stand - only had one open for 3000 volleyball players and their families. Ran out of sandwiches, salad, & hot food. They tried to substitute but that just lowered the quality of what was brought out to offer. Hoping that they realize that the same amount of people will be returning on Sunday & they have corrected the food offers. One concession stand for over 6000 people does not make sense.
Beautiful amd big space for events. Only complaint is the air is super super dry. Make sure to drink lots of fluids and bring lotion or moisturizer. The convention center is attached to the Hilton and another building. There is a starbucks, Au Bon Pon, and UPS store that is easily accessible for those using the convention center.
So just so everyone knows, this place is UNDER THE GRASSY FIELD. We heard a number of people complaining about not being able to find the place but it really isnt that hard if you google it. Then again, if youre reading this review you probably already know enough to find it on your own, but just in case, you can get in from the Global Center building nextdoor or the entranced on the North-West Lakeside Ave. side. As for the review, its a very large place, as youd expect, but they were able to find perfect sized rooms for every event to make them feel full, but not packed. The main convention hall has plenty of bathrooms and a nice quick food shop. If you get to attend an event here bring your good walking shoes.
Convention center itself is a nice center. Interesting mostly underground building. However, its spread out inside with several different levels that make finding the correct room difficult. No good food or Starbucks inside. No good night life/restaurants near the center.
One of the Biggest Hall Ive seen ever. There so many rooms, halls, and so on.I attended APS Annual Meeting during August 3rd to 7th 2019.On my first day of the Scientific Gathering, I reached at Huntington Tower (Hahah).Assuming that Convention Center would be somewhere inside the building. But nope, I was wrong.Although I was 10 minutes late to get my Workshop, but it was fun to be there.Coming towards, The Convention Center, this is awesome. Adorable place for all kinds of Events including Scientific, Political, Social, Private and so on.
Great venue! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL people event organizers. They dont get back to you on time. They wait to the last minute to answer your questions. They dont show up to meetings, and wait for two weeks before the event to tell you prices. They are vague, do not provide hardly any information about their prices until the last minute so they can gouge your wallet. Never use this venue if you expect customer service.
An impressive convention venue with numerous exhibition halls, meeting rooms, and plenty of space. Located in downtown Cleveland a five minute walk from the lake front, this is a great place to attend a convention or any other event. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants within walking distance and I highly recommend this venue.
A gem in the center of downtown Cleveland! Dont be thrown by it being underground, this perfect option leaves a great green footprint to enjoy above, while boasting beautiful bright decor below. The Convention center is full of adaptable space for all size events. Multiple break out rooms, a huge grand ball room and 3 huge exhibit halls that are all well laid out for easy navigation. Numerous bathrooms and good overhead signage make it easy for manuvering any event.
Big show floor. One small cafeteria style food, food is expensive and terrible. ONE soda pop/energy drinks/Gatorade/Powerade vending machine, if you dont want to pay $4 for a 20 oz. pop; but it was out of order the last 2 years Ive been there. Yet they have no snack vending machines.Setup metal detectors and checks bags when entering with LONG LINES; use the elevator to bypass security. Not good.Otherwise they provide a lot of conference rooms. The is very friendly and even bought me a pop from the employee break room which had a working soda pop vending machine.
Here for the Wizard World Cleveland convention and everything is top notch... except th ed food choices. Slightly better than airline quality and ballpark expensive!!Floor kills your feet.Heres an idea.Sell gel insoles during these conventions and youll make a killing.Great to have a place this nice in downtown CLE.
A nicely appointed, airy convention center with easy access to downtown Cleveland. The only downside for my visit was disappointing food and food service. Stations opened and closed in an uncoordinated fashion and quickly ran out of food. I was chided several times for apparently misusing the serving utensils, despite lack of any instruction. Everything was served with disposable (although compostable) wares. And the food itself was mediocre - dry, stiff chicken, barely cooked beans still in their can brine for tacos, and so on.
Nice convention center located in the heart of cleveland.. One unique thing about this place is that it is underground.. If the world ever ends and there was conventions going on everywhere. This is the place id go... I went for the beer fest ... It was awesome... Tons of beer and women. The parking for this place you can either do valet or just find a spot to park on the street a few blocks down. That is what i did.. It was just luck that i found one. Every other time i took a lyft or a uber... By the way lyft is cheaper and u get 5 off ur first 5 rides when you sign up. Cant beat that
Modern looking and very big/wide Convention Center. It has several smaller rooms for e.g. workshops, meetings and presentations. Then there is huge hall for e.g. exibitions. For overnigth stays the Hilton Downtown is directly connected to the Convention Center facilities. I would recommend to stay there.
Typical City of Cleveland bathrooms. Faucet sprays everywhere, getting your clothes wet. No paper towels in the holders. And once you use your hand to open the bathroom door, the hand sanitizer dispenser is empty. And why dont any of the parking garages have tunnels that lead to the convention center? Why are we still walking outside in the rain and cold to enter this place?
This is the worst convention center I have ever been to load-in and load-out as a craft vendor. We are trying to load out after the Cleveland Beerfest show, and they have us waiting outside in line for 45 minutes to an hour, and they will only allow 2-3 cars into the loading docks at a time. Terrible load-out management, you have wasted so much of my time.

2022-06-25PRO-TIPS: there are BEAUTIFUL LAKE VIEWS inside this convention center to have breakfast or lunch. There is a Starbucks inside the lobby. Its Very easy to navigate this convention center floor with clear signs - the center is actually underground. Lots of seating with USB Powered chairs. All the hotels make it easy to walk to the convention center without using a rent-a-car. There is a UPS store On site for shipping your convention booth containers home . A FED-EX store is roughly 2 blocks walk (very long walk). Its actually cheaper to use fed-ex or UPS to ship booths home than using the convention vendor. There are BEAUTIFUL places from windows around this convention to see including Browns Stadium, the Science Center, raised bed gardens, and bee hives. In my opinion, the best Off street parking is across the street near Marriott & that water fountain statue in an underground garage. Expect to pay $$$$.

2021-12-22We love the wonderful NARI home Improvement Show at the Convention Center, easy indoor parking, they do a wonderful job keeping it clean and the food/drink is wonderful. They have Clevelands own Platform Beer and other local favorites. The NARI Home Improvement Show is a great way to meet and interview local professional contractors from Greater Cleveland to remodel your home. Pictures are from the NARI chefs table featuring Greater Clevelands finest Chefs showcasing their talents and giving attendees samples of great tasting food.

2022-05-04Was here for FAN EXPO Cleveland. And was AWWWSOME! Nice facility, only deducting a point for the food or the lack and quality there of.

2022-03-29For a convention center, It is entirely located at underground level. You can get more clarity looking at Google satellite images since the top part of the convention center is all grass. Yet the place is super big and in my experience easily held a conference for 1700 attendees this past week. The outside parts of the convention center are so pictureworthy that you cant resist taking a nice photograph especially during the evening. Across the convention center theres a beautiful walking ground, again one can take nice pictures there. The whole area has beautiful architecture.

2021-09-30I was at the convention center yesterday and today for Content Marketing World Conference 2021. The facility was being kept very clean and was constantly being disinfected. The staff was very attentive, professional, and a delight to interact with.Ill be back there the next two days and dont expect anything different.

2022-04-25This was a wonderful event center. Extremely spacious and cleanly. Went here for beerfest and I couldn’t believe how many booths they stuffed in here. If you walked a full lap of the just the main room it probably took a solid 5-10 minutes. Very great space for holding events with great lighting and sound acoustics.

2022-02-13Very clean facility, the carpet looked new, and plenty of hotels within walking distance. I did not see a lot of food options close by.

2022-02-19I was invited to attend the All-star mothers breakfast, celebrating single mothers. It was a blessing to be at an event full of Gods people. I am touched that I was included And very greatful. The staff were all very (pleasantly surprised) Pleasant! Im not sure who catered the food but it was my least favorite. However, I did arrive late & so some of the food was cold. Yet, I ate and enjoyed myself. ☺️

2022-05-01During the event I attended the staff was friendly and the whole place was very clean, even the bathrooms. Which was impressive for how many people were there.
