I’m not even sure where I should start. This is a REAL review of the horrors I had to deal with living in this place. First off the manager is incredibly rude, she likes to accuse you of things randomly. I was accused of loud dog noises coming from my apartment when I didn’t even own a dog. I got a letter asking me to leave the premises BEFORE even asking me if I owned a dog. It stated that since I broke the lease agreement..by wrongfully having an animal that my lease will be terminated, it said I had 3 days to move. I was furious as I didn’t even own an animal. Fast forward 3 months and THE SAME ISSUE arises yet again! I don’t own any animals! I’ve been threatened multiple times for none payment of rent when I never missed a payment. I had to log into my bank account showing they already cashed the checks! I once again was told I have to move in 3 days as I broke the lease. They do this before even asking you about something. I was unfortunate to have people living above me who were so LOUD they would wake my child up every single night almost from what sounded like couch’s or a car literally falling on the floor. They did absolutely nothing to fix the situation. It was a nightmare having to work in the morning and your child being woken up almost every night. Do not live on a bottom floor if you have children!! The walls are paper thin. They will charge you with misc damages when you leave. They are thieves. Do not rent here! The management are the most untrained and ignorant group I’ve ever had to deal with!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!You will never get a straight answer about anything. Office staff is terrible, maintenance does not respond, not sure if that is because of the office staff. The rent payment system is a joke, when their system makes an error they still charge late fees. You cant even hang flower baskets on your balcony anymore. New management is trying to make these apartments out to be more than the really are. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more somewhere else. Management can respond however they want but I have screen shots off all the maintenance requests that I have put in and emails that we have had with the office about rent issues.
Terrible customer service. they treat you like you are a nobody, all you are is a rent payment to this corporation. they have designated a certain amount of apartments to upgrade and as your lease comes up they choose not to renew it so they can revamp your apartment, charge $1200 per month for it and kick you out in the street. Site manager Tami Pitts is very unprofessional as ell as Regional manager Bob Rios. Stay far away
So, this is a follow up to my first review. I have been going back and forth with management for over a month now with no resolution. The service is rude, unauthentic. I was instructed by someone on the last review I left to call again and try to resurrect some feelings I have towards the complex. well, with how I was treated I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay in these apartments. Unless you want to be treated as just another money symbol, without any sort of care for an individual. I’m beyond disgusted with everything, and the worst part is I loved building and floor plans, but as far as I’m concerned, I’d rather live somewhere I’m treated far better.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. It seems nice but management does not do the best job at communicating with one another nor the new tenants. Myself and my fiance applied for an apartment in December and were told on the spot by Linda that we were approved and to come back the following day to sign papers and give our deposit. We were ecstatic. We returned the following day and singed paperwork saying we paid 945.00 deposit and our lease would begin on 12/29 with prorated rent for the month of December. The check was cashed on the next day, December 20th, and later that day my fiance was contacted by the regional manager (Bryan), saying that we were not approved and would not get keys. He was told it was their employees fault and she would be reprimanded and we would be getting our whole 945.00 returned back to us which included the 100.00 application fee. Today is January 7th and we JUST now got our money back in the amount of 845.00. Not even the full amount as promised. I left two messages with Bryan and was never even given the decency of a returned phone call. We have been lied to and ripped off by this company. Very disappointing. I am a full time student and veteran and my fiance works 7 days a week to support our two children, but since a mistake was made 10 years ago (fighting with his brother in law when he was 18 years old) we are being treated like garbage. Very disrespectful. Absolutely do NOT recommend.
Carpet was matted and old, fridge was noisey and old, maintenance was unhelpful, and management was trash. I noted all of the above and more in my move in sheet. Then the carpet became infested with bugs from a gap in the exterior wall(confirmed by terminix). They refused to fix it or have it treated. They lied about a moldy toilet. They would rather wait you out so they can charge your deposit. I would not consider them for a long term home.
Very unprofessional. Constant rent payment issues, front office manager and her little assistant both have very bad attitudes. They seem to enjoy scamming people out of their money. I don’t recommend this place. On top of that, there are bugs constantly in the apartment & they do NOTHING about it. service is absolutely horrible.
Money hungry/Rude management. We lived there for 1 year and they decided to rip up our carpet after we moved. The whole carpet was full or urine and or water stains (not sure which). They tried to blame it on my 8 year old 20 lb dog that has never peed in our house ever since we rescued her. ALL THE CARPET WAS STAINED UNDERNEATH. Thats obviously years and years of nasty build up. That place is disgusting and the new manager aint much better than the stains on the carpet.
These places might look great on the inside and even in the exterior however, customer service 80 billion thumbs down. Linda the property manager had me sign not one but two different rental agreements on two different occasions due to mistakes she made. I had to make some difficult changes being new to the area. The first agreement for the 2 bedroom deluxe was $1600 that included a prorated amount and $860×2 I was then contacted one week before my move in date and she told me she messed up and the price would be $2700. I was very upset but decided to go in person and before I left, we worked out the second reantal agreement and the cost was for $1822.00. I was set to pay $1822.00 on January 25th however, on January 9, I received a voicemail from Linda telling me she made another mistake and that Id have to pay $2600.00 on January 25 in order to move in and if I didnt want to pay, she ask would i like her to cancel my money order. She was not very sensitive to what that all has done to me. I called Lindas boss and he said he was going to look into the matter his name is Bryan. Bryan never called me back after my long voicemail about the issues and I was left to try to find a place to live. They did nothing at all to try to help me nor fix the mistakes Linda made. I was very respectful to Linda and yet the only thing that came of all this was me being out of $50.00 and waiting on my $99.00 she said would be mailed back. Please if you find yourself reading this, take time and form your own opinion. Im happy I found a place over in Sheffield lake and they treated me very well. Im extremely disappointed with HUNTERS CROSSING APARTMENTS IN ELYRIA OHIO LOCATED IN CHESTNUT COMMONS I HATE I HAVE TO GIVE THIS A REATING IN ORDER TO POST THIS. I dont feel people/future tents should be treated this way. It was not my fault Linda seem to be incompetent or as she put it to me overwhelmed with the business new computer systems.
Linda the Property Manager is very unprofessional and she has a very bad attitude. Place has lots of bugs and refused to put work order in for my girlfriend for screen door screen to be repaired at bottom that came apart at the bottom a year ago(saying they would take care of it last year) plus tried blaming my girlfriend for grout around fireplace cracking and falling out between tiles. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the place. They even said I couldnt stay there or live there with her after complaininh about birds nest in the dryer vent exhaust exhaust outside twice. My girlfriend is moving out now after two years. Rent is way too high priced and upper management is useless too. The place even threatened to evict her if I stayed there with her and walked into the apartment unannonced several times without notice. The place was somewhat okay until Linda started at the location. Many other people complained about the same things and moved out as well...see other reviews...the proof is in the pudding.
Bad service. The front office people have bad attitudes. I don’t recommend. Before moving in I heard they scammed people but didn’t believe it until it happened to me. they are careless when it comes to everything that doesn’t involve money. Sadly, it has more stars than it should. Hope this review reaches someone because everything about this place is trash.

2022-02-07All the employees at Hunters Crossing are so friendly and kind. The property manager Tammy is such a delight to work with! She made the entire move in process incredibly easy and explained absolutely everything in great detail! (TWICE)I was SHOCKED to find out the prices are so affordable considering the insane amount of space in the apartment! I look forward to spending many years living here. I would 100% recommend Hunters Crossing Apartments to anyone and everyone!

2022-03-09I have a friend who lives here and I seen his apartment and it looks really nice however its definitely not worth the cost that they charge. On the other hand, I dont know what all is included with the cost of living there. But still a nice apartment complex.

2022-02-07Insanely overpriced with hidden fees in all areas. Tammy is incredibly deceitful and comes off very nice and comforting until youre stuck with $400+ in fees and no place to stay.

2022-04-25The management at this place is sooooo bad. Dont live here unless you constantly want a headache every single day. Such a gross place to live and the renovations are just for ascetics.

2021-02-08I lived here a little over for 3 years and loved every minute of it! I prayed about moving here before I did and Im so glad that God allowed me to stay there. In my 3 years there what I appreciated the most was the the kind staff, the quietness, and quick maintenance services. If there was every anything I need attended to in the place, I would put in a service call and they would literally show up the same day! I enjoyed walks in the summer time by the small lake as well, it was so serene. Tammy, the manager, was so kind and helpful and I appreciate her and the staff. The only reason I had to move was because I was attending college 2 hours away or I would have lived there for 10+ years. I pray God showers the building and the staff with blessings and that they produce profits year after year.

2020-05-20Safe, Clean, HappyI moved to Hunters Crossing after a divorce, five years ago. I couldnt have picked a better place to live. As a single mom with two teenagers, my top priority was safety. We are in a secure building, accessible only by residents with a key. Our neighbors are working professionals, a stay-at-home mom and an elderly couple. The maintenance department, comprised of two handymen, Mike and Jack, are adept and efficient. Maintenance issues are resolved within 24 hours and sometimes, even on the same day. Frieda and Raye are the two domestic engineers who keep the general living spaces, clean and tidy. They also pick up debris on the campus on a daily basis. The front office, Teresa and Tammy are professional, friendly and greet me by name. Ive looked around for other possible living arrangements (i.e. renting or buying a house, finding something closer to work, etc.) but when I compare cost, square footage, safety/security and the other amenities, no other property meets the benchmark that Hunters Crossing has established. Im happy to call Hunters Crossing my home.

2019-12-18I have grandparents that live here and I wouldnt trust them living anywhere else. The new manager Tammy is very professional and welcoming as is the leasing Lady. Every time we have a maintenance request it gets done in a timely manner. This is really big for me because I have been helping take care of my grandparents for some time now and their old apartment complex was very unprofessional and I wanted to get them out ASAP. Thank you Hunters for being a safe and comfortable place. Would definitely refer you guys to anyone!

2020-06-10Shortly after moving in I immediately felt unwelcome. I was on the phone with the front office one time and the woman heard my little dog in the back barking then she ask me if I have a dog which I replied yes of course I do I paid a nice deposit and even provided shot records when I first moved in which you easily have access to. The next day there is a note on my door saying I’d be in trouble if I didn’t pick up my dogs “droppings”. How could you say I didn’t clean up after a dog you didn’t know about until you looked at my application that the other woman in the front office completed with me. Long story short I feel like they use any reason to say a tenant is violating one part of their lease or another just to squeeze more money out of them. I eventually moved out leaving behind a $2000 deposit. A year later I receive a letter from them saying I owed $1500 for carpet cleaning and whatever else they threw on there. I reached out to them letting them know I had pictures of how I had left the apartment and they were time stamped. I also asked them what they did with the rest of my deposit that should of taken care of their “expenses” and all of a sudden it was no longer a problem. I never heard from them again thank God. Please do yourself a favor and take note of the reoccurring problems people are mentioning in their reviews.
