Hunan Gardens in other cities:
Sushi was disgusting and even when bringing it up because my fiancé was served old slimy looking shrimp ( I mean it looked green almost) the owner said that it was raw and we don’t normally get it raw anywhere else. Which is a absolute lie and I’m assuming she thought we don’t indulge in traditional sushi or knew what we were talking about. Never had shrimp look that way and my fiancé couldn’t even stomach it. They did not take the uneaten item off our bill but gave us 4 bucks off instead. Writing this review so other people don’t get sick. Our server was great, the owners not so much.
Let me tell you something, this place is a hidden gem! I travel for work all over the place, and I literally just had the best sesame chicken ever, and amazing customer service! Now can the appetizers use a little bit more flavor, yes would I ever get an egg roll there again probably not. However the hot and sour soup was amazing... And the portions are very good size. When I come back up this way, theres no doubt in where Im going to get my Chinese food from!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant EVER! I has tried so many different Chinese places and nothing comes close to Hunan Gardens. Their Hot and Sour Soup is perfect! Their General Tso’s Chicken is perfect! Their Broccoli and Chicken is perfect! Their Chicken Fried Rice is perfect! Everything is perfect! I have never had anything bad there. Please go and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
As a first time customer, I ordered a pick up that my bf just grabbed so I haven’t actually eaten the food yet, but they were so nice! I was indecisive about one of the menu items and I felt bad having to keep the guy on the phone as I changed up my order, but he was so patient with me. Also I was interested in trying more sushi rolls but I just got one for now just to see if it was something to order in the future, and they were thoughtful enough to throw in a sushi menu.Update: food was not bad, wouldn’t recommend asparagus shrimp roll appetizer tho :)
This was our first time visiting this restaurant and it was excellent. Crab Rangoon were very tasty and well seasoned. Egg roll was good. Hot and sour soup was perfect. Our meals were delicious. Waitress was great and kept our glasses full. Were very picky about our Chinese food and this was very good.
I have been ordering from this establishment for about five years. I would order once maybe twice a month. Simply Because they have the best Asian food in Findlay. But I was deeply disappointed when I called to to say my order was missing a dipping sauce for my appetizer. I was meet with the owners grandson telling me I was wrong and they have never gave the sauce with the the Crab Rangoon. I said sir I have been ordering this appetizer for years and it has always had the sweet as sour with it. Whether I have been paying it for or not I would surely pay for the thing I have come to expect with this dish. I am disappointed that the person on the other side of the phone could not see the key to running a successful business is constantly, and being able to realize the customer is always right. That sauce was could only be $.20 to make and he could have up sold me for $3 and I would be happy and willing to pay it because it would have been what I was used to getting. I would have still been a raving fan of this restaurant. But now I won’t let any one else be subject to having to deal with this type of customer service.
Had take-out, I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken *spicy*. But literally no flavor or SPICE what so ever. Had to add a bunch of my own Asian spices for me to even eat it. The Shrimp hand roll is NOT worth the price, it was rather terrible. The fried Wontons were disgusting and I believe they were cooked in 5yr old oil. My husband enjoyed his Beef & Broccoli with fried rice. He said he would order again, Ill take a pass next time.
This was my first time trying this restaurant, overall I was disappointed. The General Tsos was only 12 small pieces of chicken (at $12.40 that is really expensive!). It was more breading than chicken. The Chicken Lo Mein was extremely bland, I ended up adding my own seasonings, and I didnt see a single piece of chicken in it. For the price it was not worth it. The staff was friendly and quick though.
This is our families go to chinese restaurant. Normally the food is delicious but the last 2 times we have ordered it has been horrible. We just ordered tonight and this will be our last! No flavor on any of the food, chicken was dry, egg rolls are burnt.. All around food is definitely not the same as it used to be.
This place has it all on the menu! Excellent Asian cuisine at a very affordable price. Dine in or carry out. The quality remains on point. My fave is veggie egg foo yung. Exceptional gravy covers 3 large egg and veggie souffle like patties. Way more than I can eat in one sitting. Then the crab Rangoon... Pretty perfect!
My first time eating here. I ordered through Door Dash. I ordered the sweet and and sour chicken, fried rice, and crab rangoons. The sweet and sour sauce came in its own container which was nice. The sauce was quite tasty. However, the chicken was extremely dry. The fried rice was the worse dish. After one bite, I trashed it. It tasted like dirty laundry. The crab rangoons had potential. The filling was good. The wrapper was soggy. The restaurant needs better packaging for fried food.
Ate from the lunch menu. The food was good. Had the snow pea chicken and steamed rice. Price was reasonable for the portion. Hot tea on the table was good as well. The host was very polite and prompt but the server was a bit un-attentive, but not bad. Not much on atmosphere, but pleasant enough. Will likely eat here again.
Combination Japanese / Chinese cuisine. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. The food is very good and their selection of sushi is one of the best in Findlay. The restaurant its self is small but comfortable. The staff is quick and friendly. If you place your order to go you always get it in under 30 minutes. Dining in the dishes are spaced out just right and there is always hot tea.
I usually go here 2 or 3 times a week. My orders been missing food or got charged for food i didnt order a couple times last and final time i got pick up order and i got home my order wasnt taking correctly and there was hair on my food i called but there was not even an apology just telling me what i should do next time which there wont be. And i i believe that you guys were rude when i asked for a side of sauce it means on the side and a paid for the sauce and i paid for the duck sauce and ive been here a month in which i have been coming in at least twice a week or you would not recognize me the time i ate in my waiter didnt know bring us everything we ordered and yes i worked 14 hrs they day i brung the food for lunch the next day so yes i went home and went to sleep because i know chinese restaurant usually dont care enough about paying customers to correct mistakes or problems with the food and its a ashamed because i liked your establishment and to cover your bad review with a response on how i was rude and how i like my food or how many sauces i like is just unprofessional instead of just making it right never asked you for anything free but when a complaint is made about an order it should be taking care of but obviously you guys can care less about my business so ill just take my business to panda express when i want asian food but thanks for responding but not talkong to mr about it when i called just confirmation you dont care about the customer$ and that response was horrible and inconsiderate i really expected this to be handled. Better than this .
First, your pan fried noodles even too hard to chew! You told me it will get more softer when the noodles absorb the sauce but it didn’t at all. I don’t even know how to describe it cause it’s neither dry enough to be crispy or soft enough to be chewed. I clearly know I only pay 13 dollars for it, so I shouldn’t have too high expectation, but my only expectation is that the noodles is chewable, I think it’s realistic enough.Second, before I ordered it, I asked you what difference between lomain and pan fried noodles, and you told me the difference is the sauce that pan fried noodles has without mentioning any those words you said afterwards. So, one more time, you did NOT explain the order perfectly! In addition, I didn’t request refund, instead, I asked you if I can exchange it with lomain because that was my birthday, so I wanted to get a Chinese noodles from a Chinese restaurant, and you are the only Chinese restaurant I can find in that area, but the owner said then I have to pay for exchanging, so I just gave up.Besides, when I told you my problem, all you and your colleagues did was shirking responsibility right away and blame me for not understanding my order, talking about “not all the Chinese restaurant are same“ and with a very not nice attitude. I think at least I deserve an edible noodles and a sorry. At last, don’t play those any mud throwing game. You said I gave other placeS one star review but the only reason why I gave another”Hu Nan garden” one star is that I thought it was you and I did it by accidentally. That was only ONCE and One place, and I will change it.All in all, from my own experience, I think one star is all you deserve. Also, the comments I gave bamboo restaurants was for you, so I’m gonna post it here again:A perfect place for the Americans who want fake Chinese food. And it’s funny they call themselves “Chinese restaurant”.
Todays experience with Hunan Garden was a HIGHLY disappointing one. Not only was our usual order far more expensive because of their price increase, but I had a horrifying moment while eating one of their egg rolls. I bit into a large hard and SHARP piece of plastic. Obviously stunned I called their establishment to bring it to their attention. Unfortunately the manager was out of town and the employee I spoke with was polite but failed to see the severity of the situation. I was offered a credit for the egg rolls but that was not the point I was trying to get across. If my daughter had cut her mouth on it or (God Forbid) swallowed it, the situation could have been much much worse! I found out they make their own egg rolls, which meant that whoever made them was the one who was responsible tor the lack of quality and SAFETY control. After telling them that, they offered to talk to him. Seriously?! Whoever made the egg rolls needs to be put through some sort of public safety training!Thankfully my incident was minor, but if this is allowed to just slide under the rug it could be someones life next time.
I have frequented this location often in the past, and have never had an issue. It appears to be under the same ownership but policies have change. You will no longer receive standard accompaniments with your orders, such as dipping sauce with egg rolls or crab Rangoons . if you requested to notify you that theres an extra charge for what is standard anywhere else. Ie; ketchup isnt included with your French fries you have to pay extra for that. Enough generic Chinese restaurants in town to find one that offers the same thing for better price with the accompaniments.

2022-08-09Stopped by to try out this place with high hopes..could this be my new Asian food go-to spot? Nah, this place ain’t it for me. The plate I ordered was very bland. Ordered a pepper steak dish ($14.95) off the chefs selection list and was very disappointed. It was not spicy, as indicated, and the sauce it was in was not flavorful at all. Two stars because the servers were friendly.

2022-08-18Best Chinese in Findlay. I enjoy the spicy General Tao’s chicken. Sauce is very good - a little sweet and a bit spicy. Great flavor.

2022-07-14The general TSO’s and fried wontons. The chicken was super rubbery and fatty, the wontons were dry and disgusting. I complained to them via Facebook, and they told me “that’s your opinion, try something else.”

2022-05-10The best Chinese Food in Findlay. do not choose to go anywhere else other than here, i am serious. the service is amazing, they provide you with your choice of drink & also bring you hot tea (make sure to state that you want it). their dinners are amazing as well as lunch specials. here, you get MORE than what you pay for. the plates are loaded no matter what you get & are full of FLAVOR! my favorite thing to get: hot & sour soup, garlic chicken entree with rice, & fried wonton/crab rangoon! so yummy! if you’re in the mood for Chinese, PLEASE do not hesitate, go to Hunan Gardens! they will not disappoint.Side note: I see a lot of reviews talking about their sushi being gross, i’ve never had it, but if you’re smart you KNOW to not get sushi at Chinese restaurants, you get sushi at Japanese restaurants, for instance, right across the street at Tokyo Steakhouse, who has the best sushi around, 10x better than Japan West.. & even better is that they don’t charge $300 for sushi.
