Not impressed with care lately. The previous dentist I had there ended up leaving, but I dont feel the same level of comfort with the dentists who cover since she left. I just dont feel welcome or any personal touch is brought to the experience. I have a lot of anxiety when going to the dentist as I have had negative experiences and difficulties with my teeth and gums. I dont feel as though my concerns about my oral health are addressed sensitively. The office seems to be more business-like and impersonal anymore. I tried to make a last minute appointment recently for a lost filling, but they had no availability for emergent situations. While I do have an appointment in 2 weeks, the scheduler on the phone wasnt able to address my concern of waiting that long. Wouldve been nice if she could have reached out to the office and have them called me back. Customer service is lacking and placed on hold for long periods.
Dr. Lu is an excellent dentist, I had a crown pop off from an office from a different state. I had only had the crown for a couple of years. Dr Lu explained to me why it had popped off early and how he could fix it. I appreciate his attention to detail and that he didn’t take the shortcut route by simply cementing my cap back on and risking it to pop off again.The full staff is very friendly and helpful
That was THE BEST dental cleaning and experience I have ever received in all of my 25 years of life. The Hudecs have a wonderful and exceptional business. The staff was so friendly, kind, and took their time. They explained everything they were doing so well. They were gentle with my teeth. They examined my teeth before they cleaned so they knew exactly how to properly clean. I was most satisfied as a customer. Do yourself and teeth a favor and go to Hudec Dental!
Waiting over 40 mins. Did not have any communication with me maybe 5 words. I went there for them to put back on a temporary cap back on. It hit high, was told “it’s not he same size as it was”, and she would not make any adjustments nor offer any problem solving. Then on the way home the cap fell right back out. They seem to go theough dentist and staff very quickly. This is at the Macedonia office
Very pleasant staff (Macedonia). The hygienist did a great job and was kind enough to give me good advice. My daughter also had her teeth cleaned and she made her comfortable enough so she didnt get scared or upset.
Professional staff. Courteous. Efficient. The dental hygienist I had was the best I’ve ever had. She was like a blackbelt ninja scraping away plaque without poking the gums. Thank God I found a dentist office I like.
I really like this dental practice! My entire family are patients there. I always feel welcomed when I arrived. Appointments start on time. Best of all the staff and doctors are pleasant and professional.

Before you let Rockside road office do ANY WORK get a second opinion they do work on teeth that have NO problems just to bill insurance or out of pocket expenses similar to some mechanics they create problems to charge money for problems that don’t exist! I believe these workers are fresh out of dental school and they use patients to perform there clinical’s they need to just close up.
Beware of their deep cleaning policy If you havent seen them before or been to the dentist in over a year or more they make you get this unnecessary service and most of the time your insurance will not cover it. It ends up being a couple hundred dollars because they say you have a lot of tarter build up and will not do a regular cleaning without this. Complete BS. I went and got a second opinion at a reputable dentist, paid out of pocket, and they were able to get me a regular cleaning. They told me I didnt have an unusual amount of build up and they dont understand why Hudec would tell me that. Just a ploy to get your money Im sure. Anyway I am glad I went for that 2nd opinion because I found the best dentist! Never will go back to Hudec chain again!
Dr. Lew was very thorough and I left my appointment happy for the first time in 15 months and was convinced I would need to get my dentures remade. My service with Dr. Gaffney was sub par at best. I’m so glad I no longer have to deal with her.
I decided it was time to get dentures and made an appointment. From the day I walked in I was treated very kindly. From all of the ladies in the office to the entire dental staff. Dr. Gaffney consulted me and was honest and open about the entire process. She talked about all of my options and made me feel at ease. The dental hygienist who has helped me through this process is a gem!!! The entire staff here has helped me to smile beautifully for the first time in decades!!! Everyone who works at this location goes above and beyond to make a nervous patient feel relaxed. Great job to all. Horrible experience everytime. Went there late December because I needed cavities filled. Had it done on my lower left teeth and since the day of the appointment my gums and teeth have hurt me so bad that I had to take advice before I even thought of eating. Repeatedly flossed and brushed my teeth but nothing helped. Knowing I had a future teeth cleaning on the 8th (which never happened) I called ahead and let them know of the tooth. They told me to be in at 12:30, didnt see the dentist till 1:15 in which she immediately told me I needed a root canal. I did not believe them and went back to my old dentist on the 22nd who took a picture of the filling and said it was very very poorly done. The teeth were not touching and the edges were jagged. He also had to use an explorer to remove the food that was wedged down into my gums, that he couldnt get with floss and told me I never would have. He then had to redo the fillings which cost me another $150. I will be calling Monday to grt my money back for the horrible service, and horrible work they do here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
New patient at Hudec Dental. I had 2 fillings, one crown and cleaning.Everything went great! The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable.I was pleased with everything. Made another appointment for April 2021.
Again I had a pleasant visit with Hudek Dental this time around when they seated my crown. They were very good to point out things I need to do in improving my dental care and anything about whitening plus care afterwards for my new crown
I came here at the recommendation of another patient. It sounds like he and I had very different experiences. First off, since dentists werent open for months during the first half of the year my kids hadnt seen a dentist in about a year. They criticized all of us for that, as if we had any control. Also, my youngest is 10y, after doing x-rays, exam, and cleaning, told me that she had a couple of cavities that they were unwilling to take care of due to her age and referred us to a pediatric dentist. When I explained that we only get one exam per 6 months on the insurance and they just used it and now she couldnt get another exam for 6 months, I was keyway told I need to pay for it out of pocket otherwise things will get bad in the next 6 months. I all but begged them to take care of the filings because they did the exam and x-rays and cleaning without telling me that we would need another at a different location and they refused. The closest pediatric dentist convered by my insurance is a 45 minute drive from here and I told them that as well, clearly just didnt want to help me. Also, I know other people have said it, but the office is very dirty.
Everything was explained thoroughly, it is great that you leave with a treatment plan knowing approx. cost of each part of it. All were very accommodating and feel comfortable at this office for further service.
Go here if you like to be aggressively upsold unnecessary procedures. Extremely disappointed in what used to be a good place many years ago.
Jessica was awesome! I have severe TMJ and she was so patient and kind. She is truly an asset to Hudec Dental in Macedonia !! The young lady at the front desk was super nice too!!
Dr. GAFFNEY is totally awesome. I was terrified to have my teeth checked and told them my gums are very sensitive. Dr. Gaffneu was very gentle. No pain at all. Shanleigh, the office manager, explained all the billing details and what my unsurance would pay and what i would pay out of pocket. Highly recommend hudec dental in Macedonia.
Usually you get to this dentist 10 min early, then wait half an hour before they see you. Like most dentists. Ive literally never not had to wait at least 15 minutes after the set appointment time before, but Ive accepted that and its ok. This one time, due to poor road conditions, I was 10 minutes late. There was not a single other patient in the waiting room or with the dentist. They told me they could not see me because I was 10 minutes late citing another patient, who was not there. They flat out lied and refused to see me all because I was 10 minutes late. Never go to this dentist, they do not care about anybody but themselves. Worst experience ever
I’m not a huge fan of the dentist. They are understanding of that and take their time to make sure I am comfortable. Very friendly professional staff.
Very rude office staff. Always rescheduling your appointment because of their own staffing issues and not offering any reasonable options for an appointment. Condescending if you ask a question. The hygienist that just quit was the best part of the business.
Never the same staff twice, very unpleasant experience, hygienist was too rough causing me gum soreness the whole evening after a cleaning. Time for a new dentist.
Dr. Gaffney is the best dentist I have ever been to. Her attention to detail is second to none. Everyone that works at the Macedonia office is great. If you want to feel comfortable and confident with a truly professional dental experience, Hudec Dental is the place.
All of the staff are friendly and help ease the fear of going to the dentist. Dr. Gaffney talks to her patients and tells them what to expect before she does as she is doing the dental work. Definitely the best dental office I have ever been to.

Im the one thats had too many bad dentists. I also have a genetic disorder that causes throat swelling. This is the only dentist that took the time to read up on my illness and be prepared in case anything happened. They explain everything and I feel very comfortable coming here for my dental work.
This dental office was recommended by a friend shortly after we moved here two years ago. With four kids, dental appointments can be a nightmare, but not so here. Appointments are like clockwork, easy to get in and out. Overall, a very pleasant experience for adults, school age kids, and teens. Friendly and efficient staff, highly recommend!
My experiences at this location, under the care of Dr. Gaffney and company, have been nothing short of amazing. The docs work is excellent; but more importantly for a guy like me (who can be mildly axious!) ... she is accommodating, reassuring - but never condescending. My initial visit and care received from Hudec Dental was great! I left feeling I had finally found a Dentist I could have a lasting relationship with. Unfortunately my impression of this practice isnt as favorable anymore. I feel I had work done that wasnt necessary (fillings removed and replaced). I also feel as if there was some sort of bait and switch. I was told my procedures would cost X. I paid my bill IN FULL that day, only to be billed by mail and additional $500! I ABSOLUTELY HATE TO BE TOLD A PRICE. I AGREE, PAY THE BILL, AND AFTER THE WORK IS DONE BE TOLD THE FIRST PRICE WASNT CORRECT! I paid the bill at my next check-up IN FULL! After my routine exam and cleaning, I get another bill for $35! Seems my insurance doesnt cover the basics! My gripe is they should have told me that before I left the office! I didnt even get the bill for a few months and then is had a late charge! Really!!! To make matters worse, my mouth STILL HURTS!! I cant wait till my next appointment! I really want to tell them all in person to go kick rocks!
My wife and I have been going to Hudec Dental at the Macedonia office for about three years now. We appreciate Dr. Gaffney and her team there. All are very professional and polite and all work very well together. We are moving or otherwise would love to stay with Hudec. We would recommend Dr. Gaffney to anyone out there looking for a new dentist.

The staff at the Macedonia Hudec Dental are so amazing!! They always make you feel so welcomed from the time you walk in until you leave. The staff is so personable and so easy to talk to. They take time out of their busy day to talk with you about your dental needs, I used to not enjoy going to the dentist at all but now I do. I had a horrible experience here. I went to get a wisdom tooth pulled, and at first I was impressed by how soon they were able to see me. But when I was in the chair and the dentist injected me with the anesthetic, I was no longer so happy. A couple moments after the injections, I started shaking uncontrollably. I asked him why this was happening and he said it was because of the epinephrine that was in there too. Ive had extractions before, and I had never had epinephrine included with the lidocaine. He said it was standard and that the shaking would subside. It did not. It got worse and worse and I started crying uncontrollably. It had caused a major panic attack and it was some time before I calmed down again. The dentist asked if I still wanted to have the extraction done and I said yes, but that I wasnt numb. He assured me I would be fine and that he would give me more lidocaine if I needed it. I wasnt numb. As he began prying the tooth loose, the pain intensified and I kept telling him he was hurting me and it was so bad I was crying. He kept at it and assured me I was doing fine.I left the office weeping and shaking, I had to call my brother to pick my up and take me to the ER because of the amount of pain I was in. I think I was in shock, because any time I would try to talk, I would start shaking even worse. I had difficulty walking, but the dentists office had no problem letting me leave in the condition I was in, not knowing that I had just arranged for a ride.It was a horrible experience and a huge violation of trust. I know that dental work isnt pleasant, but this is one of the most traumatic experiences Ive ever gone through.
Just changed from a dentist further away and had a good experience. Cleaning time was efficient, Dr. Gaffney and staff were personable and discussed an option for an issue Ive had 16 years that I didnt know was so fixable at such a reasonable cost.
Hudec provides good services however you should be aware of their deceptive billing practices. Hudec has a tendency to provide services they know are not covered by your insurance. Further they will not communicate this to you before they provide the service therefore sticking YOU with the bill afterwards. They have done this to me on 2 different dental plans. It’s a shame that good office service can be derailed by terrible billing practices on the backend. BUYER BEWARE!!
We had a wonderful experience at Hudec! Prior to this, my son wouldn’t allow anyone to get close to his mouth and we used to leave other offices without him getting any services (due to his fear) and we attempted to go 2 - 3 times a year. Our hygienist put him at ease, let him feel the air & water and talked him through the entire process of polishing and checking his teeth! If that wasn’t enough the Denist came in and was just as pleasant and was able to Check him and even let him spray the water and air again (now I believe he will become either a dentist or fireman, LOL). I had to video it because I couldn’t believe how well things were going! End result: No crying, No anxiety and No Cavities!!! Thank you Hudec of Macedonia!

Polite staff. I was disappointed and turned off after getting an abscess within a week of my cleaning, which resulted in extraction of the tooth. Even after paying extra for the medicated treatment put on my gums etc.
They are a nice group of people who are willing to help you in every way possible to get you satisfied. I thank them very much for their support in my oral health journey.
Everything went well in preperation for my new bridge the work was done in a proffessional manner the staff was friendly and efficient. I have one more visit to fit the new bridge

Did an excellent job doing my dentures, very thorough making sure the fit was perfect and I was comfortable with the fit also. Very happy with the end results!

Had my teeth cleaned - very thorough - pain free - great visit!
They did work for me that was under warranty, fell out less than a year later and they blamed me for it called my insurance and lied to them which got my coverage denied. Then they tried to charge me to do their faulty work again. Never would use them again. This is after going there for many years as well.

2022-02-22Horrible experience overall. I waited 30 minutes to be taken out of the waiting room for my appointment and then another 15 minutes waiting for the doctor to come in. Dr. Lu eventually came in and did a 2 minute exam after I had mentioned some sensitivity on my right side. He then proceeded to tell me multiple contradictory statements regarding gum disease that I may or may not have, which may or may not be serious and could not provide any further instructions on how to fix or remedy the situation in any way. He suggested I make an appointment with a hygienist who could tell me what to do about the maybe present gum disease, but that she was double booked so she couldn’t come in to see me. The experience was frustrating , confusing, and time consuming, and nothing that was done was in any way helpful. My time spent was completely wasted and not acknowledged.

2022-04-13Terrible experience- failed to communicate service. Would not do simple cleaning on first visit, even though called in for a cleaning. Said they checked with insurance that procedure would be covered - it was not. Been to a number of dentists through the years due to moving , etc. worst experience ever.Update on my cap that was put on last year it broke in half & fell off today.

2021-12-07TERRIBLE experience in Macedonia.The hygienist poked harder when probing my gums than any other hygienist ive ever had. It hurt, and my gums bled. All of the probe values were +2mm what Ive had in the past (6 months ago). She told me i had periodontal disease, I needed to schedule another appointment for a deep cleaning, cleaning every 3 months, etc.I told her that I just wanted a normal cleaning and wanted to continue to monitor the probe values, and if they didnt improve by next time, we could discuss deeper cleaning (Im sure that the values were skewed based on how hard she pushed, but I thought this was a fair compromise) . She refused. Said she couldnt do a normal cleaning. That it would stir up the bacteria and could cause an abcess, etc. She literally refused to clean my teeth...that is a lifetime first for me.So I took 2 hours off work, paid for x-rays I didnt need, didnt get my teeth cleaned, and was given, in my opinion, a bunch of recommendations for services I didnt need. Ive read some other reviews here that describe similar experiences if you are a new patient.The dentist did come in at the end and was fine. He seemed quiet but nice enough. He probed around, said he didnt find any cavities.Not listening to your patient, recommending un-needed care, and refusing basic care isnt what Im looking for from a dental practice.....

2021-09-07I found their practice through my insurance and I honestly had been putting off a visit because I simply dont do well with dental work in general. It had been about 3 years since my last check up. I deal with alot of anxiety day to day so it was such a relief when I did go. They made me feel at home from the start. Dr. Lu and his associates were very professional and kind, their equipment is very much up to date, and all and all I just had a very good experience. I very much recommend their services

2021-12-15So disappointed in Hudec. I have been a regular client for years. I had my check up 6 months ago and booked another check up for this Friday. I called to confirm and they said we are not open on Friday’s and they said they contacted me. I went thru all my emails and phone messages and didn’t find anything. Needless to say I am now finding another dentist. They really didn’t even care about losing a whole family.

2021-07-15I made a new patient appointment here, after I had to leave a dentist’s office I loved due to a change in my insurance plan. On the morning of my appointment, I was told they couldn’t do my cleaning that day as the hygienist was on vacation. They’d have do my exam and cleaning on different days or reschedule 3 months later. The “exam” that I received amounted to a dentist who barely introduced himself, looked in my mouth for 30 seconds, and told me I had two cavities that needed to be filled. Upon further questioning, he told me they were “on the top left,” with no further information offered. Given my poor experience with the less-than-personable dentist and hasty exam, I decided to cancel my further appointments, including the repair of two cavities they insisted I needed drilled and filled, and look for a new dentist. The practice that I ended up choosing was fantastic, and did a thorough exam including new x-rays at no charge. To my horror, they found that I had NO CAVITIES. Hudec wanted to DRILL MY TEETH and charge me based on complete BS! I am appalled at their unprofessionalism and profit-mongering. I strongly recommend getting your dental care elsewhere
