Hands down the best place we ate while visiting Ohio. Most places dont have enough seasoning. This place takes you back down. South. Must try.
I loved the quality of the food here. After coming back in over a year to eat inside, instead of having takeout, it was very refreshing. My friend Mark made the experience a whole lot better. He was very nice, and a wholesome person to be talking to. I witnessed a very generous act of kindness made by Mark and his team. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the near future.
The manager is excellent! He took the time to address my concerns, and I appreciate that. I love the chicken. I am not a fan of the new changes though, such as ordering on the Kiosk, some of us older people are very put off by that. I also really miss the free tea, that was one of those unique things that made this place special
Everything about Hot Chicken Takeover makes me smile! The seasoning they use, no matter how hot you like it, makes their chicken one of a kind! I love the waffles, coleslaw, sweet tea and banana pudding. Every time Ive gone to the Easton location, their customer service has been solid. Mark is one of their best employees, always taking an extra step to make sure your experience is good.
This used to be my favourite Chicken in Columbus,. Now the chicken legs are one half the size and over $10 per order. No more free tea and ranch is 50 cents! Also used to get for free. Tea is now a $1 which you used to get free this is still very reasonable. Sides are 2.5 each so prices are up 40% roughly and quantity is down roughly the same. Taste is still good
Don’t waste your money! Read the reviews and decided to eat while visiting Columbus. Wasted $30! First off the guy at cash register was very lazy, didn’t offer any advice on menu, after we asked about item. We got our food and everything was nasty. Our chicken was not done. After trying to eat some of it, we threw it away and left. Terrible service and food!
Placed a pick order at 4:23pm for a future pickup time of 7:15pm. I arrived at the restaurant a little early because I had another stop prior. As I entered I was greeted by a friendly employee who asked if I had a pick up order, I stated yes and gave her my name. The Supervisor/Manager working then asked her what name I said then immediately appeared annoyed that the order was a whole bird and meal that included vegan nuggets. She rolled her eyes, proceeded to go into the Employee Only office then come back out to continue to be rude to the staff working in the kitchen. Once order was ready she yelled, Tiffany even though I had been sitting very close to the counter the entire time and not once had she turn around to look at me. I asked if she had placed the ranch in the bag and she stated, Yes Maam as if I was annoying her while still keeping her back to me. I said Thank you and have a blessed evening while she still kept her back to me. I will never come back to the Hot Chicken Takeover at Easton and will tell everyone else not to come here unless they want rudeness from those who are in a superior position. My advice is, if you are unhappy with your situation/job find another one that doesnt involve dealing with humans.Peace, Love, and Prosperity
The food was hot & fresh and my kids love the banana pudding. This location is usually pretty busy but they handle it well. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Our cashier Fry went above and beyond. Great Job HCT!
Food was awesome! I REALLY wish there was one in Charleston SC!! They would eat this up!! The manager Chris is great and was so friendly! Made our trip to Ohio worthwhile! PLEASE COME TO CHARLESTON! We love our chicken down there!!!
Went into Hot Chicken Takeover randomly after everywhere else had a 45+ min wait for food. We were a decent sized party with 4 adults and 3 kids. Our food was hot quick and accurate, refills were free on the sweet tea. The service was excellent and the restaurant was nearly empty and spotlessly clean. Will definitely be returning to this location intentionally next time!
The best chicken in the land. This location is perfect next to the airport and a Costco so when Im in town before I leave 🐔🍗 time
Since this location opened, I always go here. My standard order is the warm chicken sandwich with cole slaw. One of the best I have had! Great staff and a shout out to Mark, who ALWAYS goes above and beyond with a friendly attitude & great customer service.
The chicken tenders are a solid spicy chicken however it is not Nashville hot chicken. My children had the cold chicken drums and thought that it would be good chicken if you have never had fried chicken before and had no sense of smell or taste. For the hot chicken it appears to be oil instead of lard and woefully short of brown sugar. Not really Nashville hot chicken without blue cheese dressing and greens. Baked beans are spot on.
What a great chicken sandwich. So much fight between fast food chicken places, this one makes all look like babies (and I like Popeyes over other spicy chicken sandwiches out there).The chicken breast sandwich was enormous. I had the medium spice level and flavor was great. I might add a bit more salt to the chicken (maybe a better brine). But amount and freshness of slaw and pickles was great. Sweet tea was a good fit with hot chicken.
The chicken was amazing. Crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffles are good enough to eat on their own but compliment the chicken very well. Jeff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. I’ll definitely be back.
Ms. Stephanie and the crew at Easton took great care of us at lunch today. She let us know up front about the CC machine issues and ensured that our order was 100% - great food and excellent service especially since we had a large group.
Not a fan! Spent $70 and only ate $5 worth. Felt sickly after. Mac and cheese wasn’t good either. Tasted like it had been out overnight. Husband said baked beans were really good though. If it’s your first time eating there, I recommend getting very small order just to see if you’ll like it or not. I went by other ppl and that’s where I went wrong!!
Overall good food. Quality/spice level are variable though. It’s also obvious that they’ve begun to cut corners and cut back on their meals though. Smaller portions of chicken, 1 piece of bread underneath instead of 2, charging separately for the meal and sides. What happened to the “always free” tea/ranch? Feels like they’ve prioritized nickel and diming their customers instead of maximizing experience. An unfortunate turn they made to ensure the highest profits possible. Used to recommend to all Columbus visitors, not so much anymore.
My lady and I both ordered the hot chicken sandwich. This was after we tried the “holy” chicken sandwich two days prior. It seems the hot and holy flavors have a matching intensity. Although the heat became unbearable about halfway through our meal, we kept munching at the tender, well-seasoned breasts as if we had a gun to our head. Eating HCT is like eating hot cheetos back in high school; they hurt so good.
Ate here somewhat on a whim and Im glad we did. My wife and I each got chicken strips mac and cheese and waffles. I got the hot while she got the warm. The hot was actually pretty dang hot. By the third one I was definitely feeling it but it was pleasant and never became too much. My wife really enjoyed the warm and said it was pretty much perfect for somone with a moderate heat tolerance. All 6 strips we had were very good sized snd prepared freshly and were nice and steaming hot when we got them. The Mac and cheese was awesome. Im kinda hard to impress when it comes to Mac and cheese but it was stellar. Rich flavors of cheddar and black pepper and a unique texture that wasnt mouth sticking ly creamy was a definite bonus. The waffles and syrup were also good and did a nice job cutting the heat when I needed a little break in between bites of chicken. Lastly, fountain Boylans soda was awesome to see. Cream soda, black cherry, and everything in between. Very refreshing. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be back.

Your meal includes bread, pickles and Sweet Tea.The meals presentation was excellent. But the actual taste was not to my liking. The Mac n Cheese looked homemade yet was dry. And the chicken was mediocre.Even though it was not to my liking. I would order other items such as The Waffles and chicken.I want to Thank you, for reaching out to me. And I did return to your location and AJ gave me Exceptional Service!The food was Fresh and the Team members followedCOVID protocol.
Terrible! i received 5 wings Mac and cheese and baked beans & banana pudding. The food wasn’t fresh and the taste of everything was disturbing. The service was also really terrible. For everything to be so disgusting and cost 78 dollars was ridiculous. Do better! I don’t usually leave reviews but this time I had too.
A little late trying this out, but glad I went! Im a HUGE fan of the cold flavor, which is impeccably seasoned. Its spice level is below traditional mild. They offer a really nice banana pudding, I dont like any of their 3 sides, but thats just me 🤷🏽♂️The only knock I have against them is the fact the bread for the sandwich is just white bread from a loaf 😕
Chicken was fabulous. Waffles were very good. Worth the trip.Fries were steamed, limp, and lackluster grease sponges and should be avoided - definitely the most expensive and worst side.

If you guys arent accepting doordash orders you should turn off the console for the day. Ive tried 3 times within the last week to place an order and its giving me an error saying youre having an issue accepting orders every time. Will change review when this issue gets fixed. Otherwise food is good its just that pesky issue.
BAD CHICKEN MEAT.So I was going to post about the price hike that has happened at this location (because its the one I frequented) but decided to wait until I ate the meal to add to the content. I am so glad that I did. My only beef outside of the new (ridiculous) costs are the decrease in side portions. Yall, I got to my last wing and the seasoning could not hide the taste. It was BAD bad. I can even smell it. And its not even worth taking back because what can they do. Its more on my gas than on value returned to me in chicken. And thats likely what theyre banking on with those taking food away, because I know they had to have smelled that meat during seasoning. I am not going to say dont go here because you will and a sprinkle of the public will bite into a bad piece occasionally. What I will say is that they have set the course to run themselves out of town.If you havent been, when they opened I could get a cold wing meal with sides (2) and tea for roughly $12. They increased prices last year and again this year. The 5pcs wing that was $10.5 is now that price for 3pcs and the 5pc is $14.5. Oh, and you now pay for the once complimentary sweet tea. They making you pay $1 for sugar. And putting 17 pickle slices in my plate doesnt justify the overall disappointment in this (Easton) location. I am more disappointed in the fact that this businesses recipes were amazing. None like it (too me) in the area. Ive compare this joint to Hatties, Princes, and other when they opened. Now theyre on par with Churchs. If you read this, please direct me to another chicken shack.
Must stop and try!!Out of town-ers first time eating here. We were in the area and read the reviews and were intrigued. We bought 4 meals; chicken breast, chicken sandwich, kids meal, and chicken wings (cold through hot spice level). The warm was just right for me but definitely brought a little heat. The food was great and we enjoyed the free iced tea (sweet/unsweetened) and homemade ranch. The staff was super friendly and even chatted with us afterwards to see how our meals were. I’d love to have this restaurant closer to home because it would be in our regular rotation.

Good chicken although anything above Cold is way too spicy for me. The Mac and cheese is great but the baked beans are a but thick for my liking. The free sweet tea is deliciousNEW No more free sweet tea. Ill eat elsewhere

Best chicken & waffles I’ve had! Their hot chicken is so good! Portion sizes are huge! I bought a t shirt and got any meal free. Everything is delicious here
It isnt Nashville but it is delicious. Ordered takeout from their website. Super easy pickup. Chicken was good. 4 slices of bread to hold it all. Slaw on the sandwich and got a side to try it separate. Nothing spectacular, just a good slaw.

I love Hot Chicken Takeover! Unfortunately, this location has let me down. The banana pudding was runny (it felt less like pudding and more like a melted smoothie), and when I asked for spice on my Mac and Cheese, the person at the register confirmed my order but didn’t add it to the ticket. The chicken itself was amazing, but the missing spice and runny pudding definitely took away from the experience. Hopefully next time will go better!
This was the first time Id been to this specific HCT location. I have been a huge fan of this local spot since they started 5 years ago, and despite their overwhelming success and growth they have kept true to their delicious standards and mission. As a side note, I have been experimenting with hotter and hotter chicken. In the past, I think the staff have been worried about my tolerance. Luckily at the Easton location they were more than happy to oblige me when I said just mess me up.Heat levels are: Cold, Warm, Hot, and Holy. I highly recommend the 15x Holy but I do understand its not for everyone (or anyone). It is, in this case at least, an appropriate name because with that level of heat you WILL have a religious experience.
Ive had Hot Chicken Takeover since their original opening in Olde Towne East. HCT has made some dissapointing changes the past two years. Prices have increased about 15%. Sides are now A La Carte. Tea that use to be included is now an extra. If you want more than one watered down cup of ranch that is also extra.
Interesting concept poorly executed.First where credit is due they have clean unisex bathrooms with changing tables in both.So I get it you don’t have fries can’t expect every chain restaurant around here to have them but no ketchup!? You have a single kid meal which is fine and you have to get a beverage separately so feeding your kids is around $8 each. Little pricy for a piece of fried chicken, over cooked Mac and cheese.The full set of wings was ok. The sauce was decent and they were nicely cooked. This place has unlimited ranch dressing great for anyone who loves it. The tables were dirty and we had wipe them down ourselves.This place is meh at best. Way way way over priced for a fast food joint. Not a great place to take kids either.Bottom line for the price there is better places to go with in walking distance and a lot of them are better food and a better value.
Such good service! The staff was so kind & patient (& gave me extra pickles 💖). Hot wings are amazing. We keep coming back every time we visit Easton. It’s a must :)

About the closest thing you will find that is in comparison to Nashville. Nice and simple menu with above par service. The 4 levels of heat offers something for everyone. I’m not from the area but will definitely be back.

Great food find in the Easton area. If youre a fan of fried chicken sandwiches or wings, this is the place to go! 🍗 Personally, I get the cold seasoned chicken sandwich because I cant handle spicy foods, but you wont be disappointed in the flavor department. In addition to the entree, you can pick either mac and cheese, baked beans, or coleslaw as your side(s). Also, water and (un)sweet tea is free! 🥤 Lastly, the ranch is something you shouldnt pass up (notice my fiances tower of ranch in the photo lol). Be prepared, though, for your bread to fall apart if you get the sandwich. This is a messy but worth it meal! 😋I ALMOST FORGOT: the banana pudding dessert is 🔥🔥🔥
Overall disappointing compared to when they first opened up. I don’t know if we got end of night (@7pm) Mac and cheese but it was dry and ‘eh’… not near as good as it use to be.The coleslaw taste also has taken a hit and the wings and chicken breast are smaller than they use to be. So, same prices smaller/decreased quality. Unfortunate, It use to be a place I took out of towners to try.
Wow! Wow! Wow!This is by far the BEST Hot chicken takeover I have EVER been too! I ordered food on a very busy night and picked it up and was missing some sides. I called and left a message with a manager and ended up calling back and Mike was the one who took my complaint. He is the true definition of great customer service! He replaced both mine and my husbands meals! No hesitation. Then my cashier her name was I believe Maureen! Wow! She was so friendly, and so sweet! She went above and beyond for us as well! I will ALWAYS come to this hot chicken takeover to order my food! By far the best costumer service!

I mightve reviewed one of the other locations but I absolutely love HCT, it is one of my favorite local businesses, along with Mikeys LNS, so I am VERY excited for Hot Mikeys to come back soon! These guys have such great passion for what they do and have amazing service and food. I even made just a silly comment on the Instagram live show they had tonight with LNS about missing out on the pizza class last year (thanks to a rotten bf who dumped me) and they sent me a coupon to make up for it!!! Like omg! I am a #1 fan for LIFE!
Not a fan. I cant say its bad, its just not for me. Mac used sharp cheddar cheddar Im not a fan of sharp cheeses. Chicken was... edible I guess. And tea was a little meh.Idk if someone wants to go there I wouldnt fight them. But I wouldnt walk away satisfied either.
The establishment was very very clean as well as the restroom!!! The employees were as polite as usual and the food was amazing as usual!! Try the waffles tho; they hit with the spicy chicken!!
Either my server was incompetent or they got rid of the deal when you buy a Tshirt you get a meal free. I liked that deal. If they did get rid of it I wont come back

Incredible food.Update: incredible *chicken. The sides have gone way down hill. The chicken, ranch dressing, and banana pudding are great. Skip everything else. The baked beans are passable, the slaw never was good, and the mac and cheese is consistently bone dry. Again, some of the best chicken youll ever have, but dont waste your time or money with the sides.
The food is amazing, the service is top notch. Nice and clean, free iced tea, which tree sweet tea is the perfect level of sweet. They do a really great job explaining the menu, and even though it was packed the food did not take too long. The amount of food you get for the price is pretty great too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going again.
The chicken was pretty decent but thats where it ended for me. Like other reviews, the banana pudding wasnt set which was a huge disappointment. Thats a quality issue that should be checked before serving. The beans lacked the smoky flavor described on the site and the Mac & cheese wasnt bad, just dry. As for the over cooked and oil saturated waffle, lets just say that was an even sadder disappointment. What happened to crispy on the outside but soft inside? In the beginning, I am pretty sure this joint was good but one of the pitfalls of expansion is the sacrifice of quality. Because this business is a second chance employer, I will definitely give them another shot. Its important to consistently provide quality dishes to all customers. You are killing the game in Columbus with the chicken. Now, lets focus on improving the desert and sides.
I miss HCT and make sure I visit every time Im in Columbus. The chicken is always delicious, I always get the 5 wings meal with heat level of Holy, a double portion of Mas Mac and Cheese and a banana pudding. You probably wont need to eat for the rest of the day after all that food. The homemade ranch could be its own food group, its that good.
Warning they put cole slaw on your sandwich. The cole slaw is horrible, the worst Ive ever encountered. The chicken is pretty good, but they put it on cheap bread slices. Side portions are large, but cafateria food-like. Way over priced. If you want a large chicken sandwich come here versus Chick-fil-A. If you want a better tasting chicken sandwich go to Chick-fil-A. If you come here I recommend you bring your own bun.
Great food, been going for years! However they seem to have started penny pinching ranch. It was unlimited, down to two half full cups during the pandemic, and now only one half full and asking for $0.50 for each additional one? Not going to happen. At least make sure theyre completely full.
It tears me up not to give them a higher rating, but allow me to elaborate about the factors that lead to this 3 stars.First - their chicken is AMAZING. Fried just right, the white bread accompanying with little bits of fry on them from the chicken being place on them just out of the fryer. The Hot is HOT and delicious.Next - their sides just don’t do it for me. The coleslaw is okay but the mac n cheese.....it just doesn’t do it for me. It is a traditional recipe but its just never hot and fresh like I would like it to be.Anyhow, the service at this location is great. I’m a creature of habit so I always get the drums, no sides for $6.50. Load up on the very excellent homemade ranch and I’m good to go. I love the chicken, not crazy about the sides.

I’m a nashville, TN native that just moved to Cbus, Ohio. Going out to eat hasn’t been a fun experience since we are use to southern seasoning and there isn’t much of that in the mid west. Finding real sweet tea close enough to granny Jesse’s tea is hard to come by. AJ at the Easton location made me feel like home again with his hospitality. The chicken was fire & the tea was diabetes sweet. Felt good to have a moment that felt like home in a new city. I’ll be back! This spot is nashville native approved lol :)

Chicken was average at best. Lots of cayenne pepper but no flavor in the meat. If you like 4 slices of white bread and soggy coleslaw this is the place for you. Service was terrible 40 minutes to get a sandwich and the cashier had the nerve to ask if I was sure I didnt receive my food. Id add a star if the staff was better.

If you dont love HCT then we probably cant be friends! Friendly people serving delicious chicken at all spice levels (bring on the Holy!), and killer sides. The Mac and Cheese is crazy good. Sweet Tea is free and you just cant go wrong here. Weekend waffles are a must.
Used to love this place! Not sure what happened but I wont be back. Second time Ive received food that has sat under a warmer and been dried out. They used to fix your food fresh and I would be happy to wait. Last time I ordered a wing meal, got to the car, and realized it was just chicken. Took it back and was told they only ever served a la cart. I would need to order sides seperate. Not true! Just order a meal less than a month ago. Charged me almost $7 for 2 sides and $9 for wings. None of which were fresh! Wont be back. Totally disappointed!
Had hot chicken thighs, perfectly done. Chicken was juicy and crispy on the outside. Their mastery of heat also shows through in the taste. The heat in the sauce was not overblown, allowing the taste of the seasonings and the chicken to come through.Glad I stopped by.

Im not sure I get it. Its okay. The menu is not deep, and the options are confusing so it all comes with bread? Then why get the sandwich? It was really on the level of Wendys and nothing special for the price. Maybe its because my moms iron skillet chicken was AMAZING and Ive been to Myrtles in Knoxville so my expectations are too high??? No thanks.

Came up from Dayton to visit my son at Ohio State, and then we got hungry. We found hot chicken takeover, finally. It was my first time and the experience was great the food was excellent the staff and the management was also very kind and friendly and welcoming. We were very appreciative of the extra little treat at the end, That banana pudding very good. I can’t wait to go back and try some other things of course I’ll still get some chicken.
Amazing food. We got the whole spread on a Saturday morning- down to the waffles and banana pudding. I dont think Ill be able to eat fried chicken anywhere BUT here moving forward. Flavor is great. Heat level was perfect. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Mac to die for. Slaw is perfectly tart & acidic. And the banana pudding- I wish I got more to take home because its absolute fire 🔥
Ordered the sandwich. The taste was blissful. Right balance of heat and taste. Good portions for the price as well. The sweet ice tea compensates the heat. I’d love to try Extra Holy next time.

I went in today for the cyber Monday sale. They were backed up an hour behind. It was a heck of a deal. So I understand. I patiently waited over an hour after my food was supposed to be ready. But understood why. The manager on shift (deserves a raise) was amazing and was doing her best under the circumstances. As did the rest of the staff. They checked in with guests as much as possible while doing their best to get orders out.My only real complaint was when I finally got home with my food, my order was wrong. I had ordered double mac but received baked beans instead.I had also ordered warm tempature on both meals and we are pretty sure my husbands was hot. He had a hard time finishing his meal because of it.Mistakes happen, especially under pressure. We will still be back again!
I will say that the chicken tastes fresh and their spices are flavorful; however, why in the world would you serve a sandwich on sub-par, bleached white bread? Put a Rembrandt in a Goodwill frame? Slaw was a little dry for my liking, but had a unique flavor profile tanginess I can get behind. Sweet tea was on point, in my opinion. Invest in some Brioche buns, or something to add or compliment the chicken flavor.

HCT does chicken right. OMG! Get the wings - they are so freaking good. If you are a newbie, they will give you a drumstick at Easton location to try Holy Moly. Bet careful though, because the heat is real and it builds. If they have the banana pudding, get it. Pretty damn tasty.
The chicken I had were not dried out on the inside, the batter unimpressive and all I could taste was the salt and oil. The waffle are horrible saturated in oil do not get them. I have had way better fried chicken.

Good experience my honey and I just came from a spa day and stopped in to grab a bite to eat. The cashier only rang us up for 1 banana pudding but we wanted 2 the white guy said I would have to wait in a long line again to re order “Trini” intervened and made all things right he gave us the banana pudding free refilled our drinks and “Shannon” aka S Dub from the club gave us a dance to put a smile on our face. Prices are reasonable food is delicious and service was superb definitely will return👍🏾

Exceptional fried chicken. The best Ive had in Columbus. Multiple heat levels from tame to hot enough for my friends from India. The mac-n-cheese is decadent. Free sweetened and unsweetened iced tea. Its not health food but it is good for your soul.

Love this place! I took my parents to try hot chicken takeover for the first time and they not only loved the food, but they were also very appreciative of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, happy and energetic and it was almost 9 PM! We love this place and will definitely be going back.
I visited this store 4/13/2021 in the mid afternoon after my shift was greeted by the manager Nick Powell very nice and hospitable gentlemen. My food was excellent, temperature was amazing. I plan to visit again and highly recommended Nicks store especially. Thank you again Nick and all of your staff .
First time stopping in and most definitely will be returning. My cashier Ebony was awesome and polite and the staff were friendly which added to the overall first impression. Food was great and fresh!
Probably the best fried chicken Ive ever had. I got the medium thighs, with baked beans, and an extra side of Mac N Cheese and their waffles. Everything was amazing.The Mac was super cheesy. I didnt add any seasoning to it, but adding some heat would be a pleasant addition. But the cheese really stands out. Very good.The baked beans are my favorite kind of beans, and these are really a top 3 for me. I would have loved to have a small piece of bacon fat in my beans, but I digress, it wasnt needed.The waffles are almost dessert like. The powdered sugar really lifts the fried batter to a new level and paired with some spicy chicken, it is unreal.And for the chicken. Even getting it once fried (you can get it double fried), it was super crispy and juicy. The medium will warm your mouth quite a bit but not to the point of unpleasantness. The house made ranch is a perfect cooling addition to dip or drizzle. The homemade pickle chips were zesty and had their own little hint of heat. All said, it was amazing!!!!Now, my wife did also get a chicken breast bone-in, though she chose the cold spice which is fried chicken with a hint of cayenne. She actually said she couldnt taste any heat from it. Though when she tried mine, she was very surprised that mine was only the next step up, as the heat index increased exponentially. Still, it is tasty chicken nonetheless.Next time I go, Ill definitely try the hot spiciness level, but I may have to forgo Holy and Extra Holy... Ive done the ghost pepper and scorpion pepper wing challenges. Not sure if I want to over do my fried chicken experience just yet! Definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed!!!
I came into hot chicken takeover the other day and I was greeted by this nice young lady named Christine I love the atmosphere it was nice it was clean the staff was very polite even the employees in the back look like they were having fun at work and they really enjoy their job there was no long wait time for my food I got my food I sat down inside and ate my food which was very delicious my chicken was very good in steaming hot macaroni was creamy banana pudding was made to perfection Christine even stepped from behind the counter and came over to check to make sure everything was going good I will be back real soon I love the hospitality the cleanest and the temperature of the food was wonderful. The Hot level of spice really is hot. Warm has a really nice amount kick also. The spice here really is in a league of its own and makes other restaurants look bad when they claim to have spicy food.Caylee served up my food and she was super friendly and delightful with every customer. Would recommend to anyone who loves spicy food and is a great spot to eat on your lunch break 👍🏽

This location has not only the best chicken, but the best staff. Everyone is extremely kind and makes sure every customers experience is enjoyable. My boyfriend and I have made it a tradition to go get dinner here every couple of weeks, and it somehow gets better every time we come. We love you, Easton location!
The food was amazing, but I gave three stars because its a la cart now. The cost went way up for what I got, and it was not worth it. Still, it was delicious chicken, waffles, mac and cheese, and sweet tea.
Super thoughtful staff. When the lady in line behind me realized she forgot her mask, they offered her one so she wouldnt have to go all the way back to her car and possibly lose her spot in line. When I got home, I saw they put my little ranch cups inside a go-to cup in case they broke open on the way home. Great people made a quick interaction memorable. Thank you!

Delicious chicken at a reasonable price. Their sides are spectacular as well, and who doesnt love FREE tea with any purchase? Go buy a t-shirt and you get a free meal. Just wish they were open a tad later at night! Also, they have Boylans soda on tap. The only place Ive ever seen that!
Don’t get me wrong the chicken here is really good as well as the mac & cheese but the thing that kills the package is the bread they just put regular bread you by the grocery store I feel like if they were to put hamburger buns it will make it 10 times better or even toast the bread but they don’t do anything like that and it just really falls apart when you bite into the sandwich if you order one I would give it four stars or maybe five stars if the bread was just better it doesn’t take any effort just to buy regular hamburger buns or even toast the bread or maybe put some butter on it nothing they just slap it on to some chicken and that is what kills the whole deal
Seriously the best chicken I’ve ever tasted!! I absolutely love the sweet tea and the Mac’n cheese just melts in your mouth. The service is second to none. Nate went above and beyond and every single one of the employees was friendly and super helpful. One of the best restaurants in Columbus!!! I would recommend to anyone and everyone as the place to eat when visiting Columbus or in the mood for some good down home cooking and give 10 stars if I could. 🤩 thank you Nate!!!
We had the most amazing lunch at HCT Easton. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was amazing. They were super helpful and friendly. They visited our table several times and brought us refills. They found out it was my birthday and brought me some banana pudding. It was such a great day! Thanks for making my birthday extra special!

Everyone there is great other than Chirsty (easton town center) who is upset every time I call and ask for my chicken to be made well done. Her manager Nick who is the nicest person I have ever met never has an issue. I called today to place an order and once again she was upset. The professionalism toward people of color really shows when it comes to her. She told me that I would come in upset that they cooked my chicken to well and would make her remake it Like wait what???? Are you kidding me. I asked you to make my chicken well done now you came up with a made up scenario in your head saying I would then return the chicken because it was too well done. Like maam Ill just wait to order when your boss is there because obviously someone did something to you. I have been going to HCTO since the the day they opened up in the North Market back in 2016. I have never felt like my business was unwanted or like I was a problem until I spoke with Chirsty. I am very professional and polite when I call, so her frustration towards me is unknown. I hope some one is able to train her on her customer service. Just because I am a minority does not mean I am going to send my food back which she was insinuating. I will be back cause the chicken is phenomenal but I will not be there during the hours she works. I will not be treated like that. I dont ever pull the race card either but its obvious how she feels about blacks and them sending food back. She also has no issue arguing or over talking customers either :/
D-freaking-licious!!!!!! I got the sandwich with Mac and beans. The wonderfully seasoned, battered, and fried chicken was served with slaw and pickles (the perfect compliments) on double slices of bread. I needed an extra stomach because I could come close to finishing it! I love that Ranch and Tea (Unsweetened and Sweet) are free! Mac n cheese is just like I like it, cheesy and baked. Baked beans were brown sugar beautiful! Long tables with stools allow for family style casual dining with friends or strangers. Great meal and great service! Great experience!
Ive only been to Hot Chicken Takeover twice now, and their chicken sandwiches taste almost indescribably good.Sides like macaroni and cheese, or coleslaw make a wonderful compliment, and definitely provide the extra little push to complete the eating experience.With a down to Earth atmosphere, and all the sweet tea one could ask for, I cant recommend this store enough, and will absolutely be back soon!

Great chicken, mac, and tea. Unfortunately when I got my food I got the smallest drumsticks ever. Didnt even cover the bread it was sitting on. Not something im going to cry over since at least the flavor was there. Although I know all chickens arent the same size, the location downtown throws another one in there when they know theyve given you small pieces. Ill be going there for my hct fix.
This place is amazing! The different levels of spice are drastic, so you can still go with someone who just likes a mild spice. But, the hot chicken is great! The sides compliment it well. Anytime were near this place, we go, its not even a discussion. If you try it once, you will be hooked!

The cost has went up on 5 wings. Eight dollars is too much. Change your shortening, at times its to greasy and to dark. I do like it when I am not having those issues. I was told the price went because they added bake beans. I only order chicken why should I paid over price??

The fried chicken was, for Columbus, awesome. The portions were giant and the Mac and cheese was top notch. The service was next level. The employees came over and checked on us, gave us free meal coupons, and were generally very kind. Its also a cool location and is well decorated. I have no bad words to say about this place.

1st review I’ve ever done but felt very compelled after an employee told me about this wonderful company. They really do help and give back to the community and people that need a job. The delicious food is a bonus! I had the drumsticks with the mac and beans. The Mac was old school style just like my grandma made when I was young. The Easton location gives us quick service, even on busy days. Whats not to love about Hot Chicken Takeover? The food is delicious and the sweet tea is amazing. Got the light heat chicken breast. Not as good as the previous flavor or the home in chicken breast. Chicken was a bit dry and oily outside. Mac and cheese is good.

Let me start with the fact that I have wanted to try this for years. Ive heard mixed reviews, but I needed to know for myself. I got the Hot wings meal with banana pudding and the bottomless sweet tea. My wife got the cold drumsticks meal with the same drink and dessert. The total came up to about $34 after tip, its on the pricier side for fried chicken, I initially thought. But it wasnt until I took a bite that I realized this is not just fried chicken. This has transcended what I thought chicken could be. It was spicy, tender, juicy, and amazingly filling. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but anyone that says the sides are nothing special are wrong .The pickles are a nice tangy touch. The macaroni and cheese is superb. I have never had real style macaroni with such creaminess, such flavor, and such consistency. The slaw was a perfect vinegar slaw. It was tangy and could cool the heat from the chicken down so easily. The dessert and tea are on the same level. I would 10/10 recommend this to everyone. Next time my wife and I are splitting one meal and one dessert because the portions were too much for us to even come close to finishing.

Probably the best Fried Chicken I have tried in a long while. We tried the Holy Hot and medium sauces and the Holy was SPICY! We loved spicy food and that was Awesome. Plenty of food for a person in an order and Free ice tea comes with the meal. It is bench seating inside with paper towels and plastic ware on the bench. Nice and clean place to dine.

Hot chicken takeover is delicious. The chicken is hot but flavorful as well. I enjoy the new addition of baked beans and the slaw as usual. I wish the bread wasnt just two pieces of wonder bread but oh well. The ranch its good and its nice that you get a free drink.

Not a hot and spicy fan. My son is and loves it. He got me the childrens meal with a piece of very good chicken and a piece of bread and Mac. Mac was ok. Tried his slaw and about 4 bites was enough.Im not knocking it. Everything was fresh and fast. Its just not really my cup of tea. I will gladly go with him again.
Listen!!!! This is some of the best chicken I’ve had in my life. It taste so good makes me wanna all my momma and my grandma! The chicken is so tender and the sauce gives me everlasting life. Don’t get me started on that banana pudding. I’m here for this. Period.

I LOVE this place so much. Homestyle chicken that doesnt look factory processed, and is delicious. I heard for years how there were lines out the door at the downtown location, and I legit understand why! Not only is the food delicious, but the owner hires people despite criminal records, which I think is an awesome service to those individuals and to the community. Some of the best fried chicken Ive ever had! I had the Hot because Im used to spicy food, but that was just on the verge of almost too spicy, so Im definitely going to try Warm next time. The chicken is delicious, the Mac and Cheese is to die for, and their banana pudding was so fulfilling (and on the day we went they were donating proceeds from banana pudding to breast cancer awareness).Reading up on how they help their community has given me high respect for this chain. The staff was all very kind and welcoming and immediately brought an air of happiness with them. I definitely hope to eat here again and again.
We come to HCT once or twice a month. It’s become a family tradition. The staff here are amazing and always have great recommendations for people who have never been before. The food is unbelievably good. Chicken is always moist, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw all delicious. We’ve even had them cater an event before. We love Hot Chicken Takeover!

This is my first time and will not be my last.I have an issue with heat but the WARM hit the spot without being hot. With house ranch and syrup to cool and sweeten the awesome chicken the tastes are a delight. The slaw and mac? Awesome. The unlimited tea great!The staff looks like they are having fun and just makes the food taste even better.I will definitely be returning.
So, I have heard a lot of good things about this place. I decided to come check it out and I am not blown away, but Im not let down either. Good chicken and the Mac n cheese was amazing. It tastes just like my homemade Mac n cheese. The banana pudding is decent. The environment was kinda cool. Picnic table like seating and stools for chairs. Overall it was a decent meal. I got the cold chicken breast. Cold refers to the spices. You can get cold, warm, hot and holy $&!@. Im not the type to eat spicy food, so I stuck with the original seasonings. Definitely a place you have to try at least once!

Of course, HCT is money. Love this place, live it as much as i used to when i worked there. People are amazing, food is delicious, put those two together and you have the perfect set up. I love you guys, keep up the good work. Other restaurants should follow your lead on this.
I’m impressed with the flavor of the kids spice mixed with cold seasoning on the wings. The macaroni and cheese was good as well as the baked beans. I tasted my brother’s coleslaw and it was good too. I’m not a huge fan of coleslaw but I could eat this one. It’s a vinegar base but not too strong. I liked how the drink was included with the meal as well.I would like to point out the fact that the staff are kind, patient and welcoming. Very special shoutout to Joe took care of us while we were there and welcomed my family who was visiting the United States for the first time from Tortola, BVI! He really enjoyed his meal and dessert. It’s nice for him to have a good meal away from home.My husband and I truly appreciate good food, but most importantly great service! Thanks again Joe!
I came in today to try the limited time Unholy chicken at HCT. AJ and Toriano provided phenomenal customer service! They let me try the new flavor since I was wary but very curious. Turns out while fiery like the bowels of hell, it has AMAZING flavor. Its not like some places which are all heat and no flavor. Shout out to the entire first shift for a great experience. I hope you bring Unholy back! I love this place!

I guess if you have 45-60minutes to spare sure it’s great. Every online order don’t you worry was taken care of before us. And we weren’t the only people pushed back in line, a family of four with two kids waited longer than we did. Smart strategy having to prepay for the food or I would’ve walked out. We really enjoyed Hot Chicken Takeover - it is a pretty simple decor so it is not fancy. The menu is really simple. Chicken with 4 different flavors or levels of how spicy. The medium was plenty hot for me... the meal comes with coleslaw, mac and cheese, bread, and pickles. The iced tea is free - the sodas are pricey but everything was really good
If you have not been to this place, highly recommend you take a break from whatever your doing and head on over...really good food and general vibe. I got the boneless chicken breast with Mac and cheese and extra pickles. (Side note, when they say extra pickles, they mean extra pickles...not complaining at all) the only reason I put a 4 star was because the chicken was a little dry but I tried some bone in and it was more moist...would get that next time. Also, shoutout to Candace for being an awesome cashier!
The chicken here is so good! A little on the pricey side but they give big portions and its definitely worth it. For my appetite I can make two meals from one chicken breast here. I also like the mac and cheese, its pretty thick though and I wouldnt say its stellar but it is good! They have Boylan cream soda here too which is a treat and you can also get warmed maple syrup for your chicken. I get the warm heat level and its got some kick to it thats good for me but my roommates prefer the cold heat level. I might try hot when Im in the mood for something really spicy! Its moist and deliciously flavored. I definitely suggest eating here!
Very disappointed in the Easton restaurant in particular. One employee in particular strikes my eye every time I come in. The larger African-American man that always wears a Jamaican head wrap with long dreads has got to go. He single handedly ruins my lunchbreak every time I come in and hes there. He almost never wears his mask and is covered head to toe in flour most days and I have not once seen him wearing gloves while touching food.On more than one occasion, he has been heard up front yelling at his other employees, throwing things and making a scene. Mind you each time I have witnessed him going off it has been in the middle of the day with people around and not a single thing is ever said to this employee while Im there to reprimand this childlike behavior. I come in day after day and to my amazement, he is always still there, not wearing a mask, covered in flour, and swearing like a sailor in the back. Its as if he doesnt have a care in the world that everyone up front can hear him.This most recent time I witnessed him yelling at young lady who had asked for his help saying he doesnt have time. Im very saddened to see that this blatantly abusive, and by the looks of it, encouraged behavior is allowed to flourish here. I feel sorry for everyone who works there and puts up with him, I know I sure as heck wouldnt considering I dont eat here as regularly as I would like to. Im very disappointed in this restaurant and this company.
We have always loved fried chicken of this place. There are 4 different spice levels to choose from like cold, warm, hot and holy. If you would like to have a small touch of spice, you can try the warm flavour. Please make sure to try their Maas sweet tea, its awesome. I also like their mac and cheese. Highly recommended.
I always order the chicken sandwich. The chicken was plump and just hot enough. The coleslaw added to the taste as the pickel completely sent the taste buds over board. Keep up the great food and great staff. Hot chicken forever FAN ..
Amazing chicken and amazing customer service. They always show concern when my son orders the Holy $&#* spice level and I always have to assure them that he has ordered it before and does enjoy it. I appreciate their level of concern for my sons well being.
I had an excellent experience at HCT. Regardless of how good a product may be, nothing replaces great customer service which HCT excels at doing. I ordered the hot breast meal and requested for my chicken to be a little extra on the hot side. The cashier and I had an honest misunderstanding, however they made the order right and even gave me a complimentary banana pudding. The food was absolutely delicious and service is always great! Thank you!

Incredible meal. Its my favorite chicken place in Columbus hands down. The free iced tea was an electric idea and one that I take full advantage from. The staff are next level. They come out kind funny and actually care about your experience with them. Please check this place out
This restaurant is FANTASTIC!! The staff is professional and courteous. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and organized. They were having a technical difficulty, but continued to fill orders quickly and correctly, double checking each one for accuracy. I was very impressed. They also have free tea and delicious food! Five stars for sure!

2021-12-18We got the hot chicken sandwich with mac and cheese. Absolutely fantastic sandwich! The mac and cheese is definitely different — not super creamy, but great flavor. Every order comes with free sweet tea, free house-made ranch (which was the GOOD ranch, FYI), and free bread! The guy at the counter saw my face light up when he asked if we wanted pickles, then he asked if I wanted extra! Super pleased with the food and service. Definitely worth the trip!

2022-07-07Amazing service and staff, I cannot remember their name but I do believe it was the manager he let me try a piece of chicken with the warm sauce/heat since Ive never tried it before, and even came back to check up on how I liked it. Staff there are so friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing! Had been years since Ive been here, so trying the fries was new but they are AMAZING! Loved seeing the Inclusive Pride Flag as well on their merch :)

2022-04-18Best wings I have ever had. Absolutely delicious. I got 2 mile 2 hot and one of the hottest. The super hot has some serious staying power. A must stop if you are in the area and with a nice trip if you are bored!!

2022-04-19Ordered the hot heat level and received a chicken with no spice. Asked them to remake and they told me it was the hot heat level and that I should try the holy level.I received my remade order and it was about on par with the spice a spicy chicken nugget. They greatly reduced the amount of cayenne they use as evidenced by my photo. I got a golden oily flavorless mess on my tray instead of the dry intense red I usually associate with hot chicken takeover.In addition, its very obvious they switched to off brand canned baked beans recently. The price of my usual meal has also risen from $13ish to close to $20 just for lunch.No longer worth it

2021-06-22Oh man. This chicken is good and hot. Good and hot, and hot. At first I thought the sandwich was just fresh out the fryer. After I let it cool a bit I took a bite and it bit back! Luckily I wasnt to brave and ordered the hottest they have (holy $#!+) . The hot was hot enough to still eat but hot enough to appreciate the spicy. The much needed ranch and sweet tea were both perfect for that heat. The chicken breast was huge too. And served super fast. I see why theyre takin over.

2022-05-12I ordered for the first time through Uber eats and received the wrong order. I was refunded and made a call to the restaurant to share what happened and submit my order again. The supervisor was very responsive and apologized and kindly explained the limitations of ordering through third party and how they could assist. She was so nice I went s as head and ordered again directly from the restaurant. She offered a discount. When I went to pick it up my food it was hot and ready and completely paid for! It was such a surprise. The staff there was very friendly, the place was super clean and the food was great. Excellent customer service! Best I’ve had in a while.

2021-10-21Quite simply, the best chicken I have ever put in my mouth! The spices are perfect, the chicken itself is juicy and falls off the bone without being dry. The banana pudding makes me wonder if I could eat a 5 gallon bucket of it… This is the best chicken you were ever going to eat! Great location and great staff.
