Holiday Inn Express Columbus - Ohio Expo Center, an IHG Hotel in Columbus

Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, US
This was your average Holiday Inn Express; we were in town for 1 night and it met our needs. The bathroom was decent sized, but the room had very little lighting. We chose due to the proximity of where our concert was, otherwise may have looked at a different property in a better neighborhood. Loved the Keurig in room, continental breakfast and coffee in lobby, but don’t see how or why there’s a fee for parking.
Not in the best location, a little pricey for the location. Could have better Breakfast choices with longer hours. Breakfast stopped at 9:30 and food ran out at 9:00 and they would not replenish.Daughters room was to be marked Out of Service but they gave it to her anyway. King size bed was broke and on the floor. She slept in our room and when we complained in the morning - they stated they would make note of it. Very unprofessional.During the following week, a manger did notify my daughter and refunded her half the cost...WOW. The entire cost of the room should have been refunded.
They double booked my room and I walked in on other people in the room. The employee told me they only had 1 king room available and I specifically needed 2 beds. Talking to the manager and that employee are both rude and not willing to help. I would not suggest to go to this hotel unless you want to walk into a room with someone already in it. Manager keeps saying the offered me another room but clearly 1 king bed wouldnt work for when i specifically asked for 2 queen sized beds. That is why I made the reservation. Then told me the other hotel has a bunch of rooms but wouldnt help me get a room there and then I drive to that next hotel to find out it is fully booked.
This was the worse hotel I have ever experienced. The neighborhood is sketchy. The room was dirty and dated. The staff was not helpful. Upon our arrival, there was used linens in the bathroom. The toilet was inoperable and the level of noise was unbearable. None of the issues were addressed. In fact, it took almost three hours and multiple phone calls for me to receive clean linens. The stay was so terrible, my 17 year old son wanted to write a review. I will never stay here again nor will I ever recommend this hotel. And, there was no hot water in the carafe in the morning for tea. The breakfast wasn’t identifiable and I would not have eaten it under any circumstance.
As soon as we arrived to check in we waited at the front desk for about 5 minutes before someone came up. The person at the desk was very nice and got us checked in pretty quickly. Something happened on their end and we ended up getting a different room then we originally reserved. That wasn’t really an issue because it still was a king size bed. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately they fail to mention that the tv literally only gets about 15 channels and no options to purchase anything. When I got in the shower latter on I noticed that all your usual shower essentials like shampoo conditioner and soap were in big bottles attached to the wall. I though that was a pretty cool idea, to bad the body soap, and shampoo were completely emptied. There was nothing in either of them but the conditioner was almost all the way full. In the morning their hot breakfast that was included with the room was a little bag with only a few cold items. I know due to covid some places can only give bagged items out, which is completely understandable but most places have that noted somewhere when booking the room. So to say the least, my overall experience was not the best. For the amount I paid I was highly disappointed, I could have paid less for somewhere nicer.
Stayed here for 3 nights. It was a busy weekend in Columbus. Lots of issues, will list bigger ones. Put on 4th floor. Fire alarm in room next to us chirped every 30 seconds, told staff, took a day to resolve. Room was missing towels and remote, and while overall clean had a collection of dead bugs in bathroom and window sill. Staff was very nice and tried hard. Was told we were the first time the 4th floor had been needed since pre-covid. Unfortunately they were full our weekend and it showed that the 4th floor had been overlooked. Breakfast was out of stock of many items. Overall location was in good shape, clean and staff was nice, but was ill prepared for 100% capacity.
Positive: For the most part the staff was polite and attentive. They offered to move us to another room, gave us a goodie bag, and were always pleasant. One staff person did remind us that because of the pandemic things weren¿t up to par which wasnt helpful Negative: Room wasn¿t ready for occupants. Electric sockets for fridge, coffee maker, and microwave were out which meant none of these appliances were usable. No tv remote in room so had to go to desk to get. Room could have been cleaner.
Front desk lady was very nice and helpful. Hotel was fairly clean. The location was terrible. Did not feel safe here based on the surroundings. Why would they build a Holiday Inn Express in a place like this? Most things around it are run down and junky. Never would have stayed here had I known where it was before making reservations.
This obviously brand new hotel is gorgeous, comfortable and clean. A few little things stood out - like when you try to open the fridge, it just slides across the floor - but maybe the hotel will still be fine when its not so new.Front desk staff, however, ruined my experience. She couldnt find my reservation until I went out to the car and got my printed confirmation. She said my digital checkin made it harder to find. She didnt smile at me, just gave me my keys and told me to park out back. But the keys didnt open the outside door, so I left my son in the cold with the luggage and walked back to the front desk. AGAIN: ZERO apology! No indication that shed screwed up the keys the first time. When I pointed out that Id left my son in the cold, she didnt even acknowledge me. NOTHING. She fiddled with the keys without looking up, then handed them back. Not so much as a Here you go, that should work! NOTHING.I suppose she doesnt know how to acknowledge that shes made a mistake. In case she reads this, you do it like this: IM SORRY. A simple apology would have gone a long way.
Positive: Manager did get us a different room so that was the only plus. Negative: Room stunk very bad and there was pee on the bathroom floor. Hotel cleaning lady had about 4 kids running around while she was working. It was close to a daycare. Location was very sketchy. Will never stay at this hotel again.
Was a mix up getting into our room, the people in room before us still had their things so they gave us a handicapped room which was fine. It was not in a real nice section of town, there were people sleeping on the streets during the afternoon. The blinds couldnt open so it was very dark when we went in and had to have staff come up and roll them up for us and there was just one desk chair in the room so I would recommend asking for another chair. The breakfast was really good but we were disappointed the pool or fitness room wasnt open
My overall stay was great, just wish that the additional charges were disclosed up front. I have stayed in several of these hotels, and this is the first time that I have encountered a bed charge and a parking fee. Only to read a posted sign. Park At Your Own Risk. Its just wierd to me that Im charged to park in a presumed risk area and be charged for doing so
I’ve stayed at this location before and it was decent. This last time it was not. When I got to the room I noticed there was dark marks all over the walls. Not gonna speculate as to what it was but you can imagine and probably be right. Went to the front desk to say something and she said she’d be up to clean it shortly. She never showed!! Complained again in the morning and they apologized but I don’t feel it was taken seriously or made right. Pool was closed and the continental breakfast was sub par but I chalk that up to covid restrictions and not the hotel itself or staff. On the plus side it was a freshly remodeled room with comfy beds.
My debit card was charged random amounts totaling over $200 for no reason. The manager said it was a mistake but wouldn’t release the hold on it. Stated I was smallMinded because I wanted my money released before I checked out even though he said I shouldn’t have been charged at all.Worst hotel I have stayed at in a long timeReply to the response of the manager. It was in fact taking out of my account. Thankfully the bank returned my money not the hotel. The bank flagged it as fraudulent. He said he would give me a code only for one of the amounts not the total, but the bank was closed at that time. I also in fact complied with him by returning the next morning as I was told, only to be told by front desk person that he had explained to me that he only had code for one of the amounts and didn’t have time to deal with you. You can’t explain away making a “mistake” taking my money and then refusing to return after check out.
Our room was directly above the entrance doors that constantly opened and closed all night long. The sound was similar to that at a bowling alley. The area is also not in the safest location. The morning staff on the other hand were very friendly and helpful. The photo attached is of the business across the street.
Very disappointed. Many problems with our stay. There was a sofa bed in our room for which the slats were broken and the mattress was the worst. I dont expect a sofa bed to have great quality mattress, but this was like sleeping on the steel frame. Then they did not have any extra pillows and blankets. We could not use sleep in the sofa bed and ended up with 2 adults and 2 kids on one king mattress. Next day for breakfast by 9 am they were out of many items. Breakfast time is until 10. We asked for housekeeping, which never got done. When we returned at end of day, they said its due to covid restriction. We could have been told that earlier. For four of us, they provided only two towels. In morning we had requested for towels along with housekeeping and they still didnt provide the necessary number of towels. This is the worst experience with holiday Inn for us!
Positive: Location was great being right off exit. It was great knowing my vehicle was there in the morning. Also the full breakfast with cinnamon rolls were awesome. Negative: Yep. Moment we got out the pkp I questioned if wed be safe. People scoping us out (the hood). Beggars asking for money moment we got out of vehicle. Elevator was filthy. The little things that I expect with a holiday inn express I expect were not there.
Room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable, but there was a mop left in there. No hand soap or wash rags. Had shampoo and conditioner dispensers and an empty body wash dispenser. No trash bags for the cans and one roll of toilet paper. My experience was okay, but Ive been to way better Holiday Inn Expresses.
Decent hotel. Terrible location! Dont leave ANYTHING valuable in your vehicle as it puts you at a higher risk of having it broke into. The hotel has a posted sign that says lock your doors. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen property. And if course the typical park at your own risk not responsible for damage signs as well. If you dont have to stay there... find one in a nicer area. They only get 3 stars because the side door I used was never unlocked. So you at least need a key card to move about undected.
You know how they say dont judge a book by its cover. This place fits that. Dont judge this place by its location. Yes some may say the place seems unsafe but youre alright to walk at night to the family dollar next door. It had everything I needed and theres a Wendys near by as well. What made this place a plesant experience was the great staff. I was unable to receive the name of the lady who was upfront but she was very professional and extremely attentive to all my concerns. Multiple staff member always asked if everything was alright and if I needed anything and I have never felt more welcomed at a holidays inn before like this one. It was very quiet since not many people visit and I enjoyed that as well. ✌ 👍
When considering places to stay I thought twice about this hotel. Glad I opted to stay here. It is simply a diamond in the rough. The hotel is updated and clean. The staff are friendly, professional, very warm and welcoming. The hotel has a laundry facility and fitness room which was perfect for my stay. Ill definitely stay here again.
I highly recommend this hotel. The accommodations are better than most, as it was recently renovated. Some ppl are hesitant to book here bc of the location, but I have 3 young kids (2,4,7) and we walked to the Wendy’s next door for dinner and back-no problems. The pool water was cool, so if you’re looking for a hotel with a warm pool or hot tub, this is not the one for you. The staff, every single person I encountered, was extremely friendly and accommodating-also a rare find. The breakfast selection was AMAZING! Bacon, two types of sausage patties, two types of omelets, French toast, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy
Hotel was in a bad neighborhood. I am a single mom and was traveling with my children alone. I was placed in a room right next to the elevator. The hotel had a quiet policy however it was not enforced. The hotel was extremely noisy all night long and I got no sleep. The breakfast was ok, the bagels and muffins were hard as rocks. We checked into our room and used the bathroom and the toilet immediately clogged. The staff did come and fix it promptly. Also, after my evening workout, I was in the shower only to find out that the conditioner and shower gel were completely empty. The hotel had been upgraded, however there was grime in the corners of the rugs and tiles. The only thing was the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I give them 5 stars. The gym was also nice. Other than that I would never stay at this property again.
The stay as a whole was great and comfortable. The staff at front desk were friendly and very helpful. And when I asked for more wash cloths and coffee the lady was quick to take care of my needs. Checking in took a little longer than I would have wanted. There were some computer problems and printing problems but I didn’t see that it was the persons fault just slow equipment I suppose and you can only go as fast as your computer so not blaming the help on that experience at all. They were very apologetic about it and tried really hard to get things moving faster for me. The only negative thing I could possibly say about the room is that I put two bugs down the toilet. The breakfast grab bags weren’t the best but in this time of concerns I guess that’s a tricky thing to try to meet everyone’s expectations for breakfast. We had picked this hotel because it was pet friendly and we were traveling with two older puppies. And it was great for them.
Our car broke down and we are 3.5 hrs from home. We stayed 2.5 days waiting on our car to be fixed. Front desk and housekeeping was excellent to us, they all knew our situation and was more than accommodating. Beds are comfy, no choices for breakfast for a diabetic, but thanks to covid breakfast is a grab and go. Thanks for the hospitality .
I had a great experience at this holiday inn. My check in was quick, the room and bsthroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, the thermostat, microwave, and refrigerator all worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my request for a late checkout was granted with no issues. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more in the way of a central light to illuminate the room during the night, although there was one larger light in the corner, a light by the entrance and a bunch of smaller reading lights. Overall a great place to stay!
This property is serviceable. There is not much to complain about the hotel itself, but this location leaves quite a bit to be desired though. One of the few things I hate about travel to an unknown area is a lack of the knowledge with regard to the general neighborhood you will be in. Staying in this neighborhood for a night or two is ok, but definitely would not want to live here. Sketchy comes to mind, actually. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the included breakfast was adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful, and we would definitely consider staying here again. Absolutely not a bad experience though.
Didnt actually stay, was setting up a reservation, only to find out that they DO NOT have free parking (Like every economy motel on the planet does) but they DO charge almost $8 to park over night.Considering that the vast majority of people who book online use Google, and not their corporate website, its more than a little irritating to discover that the info online (that isnt at their corp website) isnt accurate.
Friendly service. The elevator was broken, but we didnt mind taking the stairs. The curtain was motorized & just made horrible whirring noises when we tried to open it. There was some shoddy dry wall & shower/bath repairs, but we were only there 1 night so we didnt care too much about that. At least the bed was relatively comfortable & i liked the pillows. We were woken up at 8:30 by slamming doors. Seems like 4 to 7 rooms were vacated every 5-10 minutes & the guests let the doors slam behind them. Was somewhat hard to sleep from around 8:30-9:30am. I probably wont stay there again because it wasnt much cheaper than Marriott, but it was decent & folks were nice.
AMBER! What a Wonderful MSR!! Thank you for taking such good care of me!!I felt it was a little pricey but again the customer service was amazing the room was clean and the bed was beyond comfortable.I wish they had had fruit options for their grab and go breakfast. That’s the only thing I felt this experience was missing.
I have to learn how to identify the location of the hotels. I was not aware of the neighborhood conditions. When I travel I more likely like to stay in a level up from where I live. This was a down grade, blame it on my bougieness. Service Staff was excellent, beds were comfortable, room were clean except for the window corners. DISGUSTING! It has been neglected, a simple cleansing will do but it looks like they were shortcutting their cleaning services.
This was my first time staying at this site and was very pleased. It has been remodeled with beautiful furniture, lighting and fixtures. The bed was amazing! The front desk staff person was lovely and efficient. The breakfast was great. My only minor complaint was the breakfast hot food needed to be restocked, as they were out of a few things.I would stay here again.
Beds were extremely comfy, the room and bathroom were clean. The air conditioner cooled down the room perfectly. The usb ports on the nightstands between the beds made charging easier. The built-in shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were much better than traditional hotel toiletries. I could actually wash my hair with the amount of shampoo I know I need. Breakfast was decent. Somethings are better than others. Personally the cheese omelets and sausage gravy were good. The cinnamon rolls and pancakes were sub par. Having a Wendys right next door was very convenient. I knew that after the concert I could get a late snack there and not have to deal with the mess of finding a spot closer to OSU campus.
HI Express had friendly staff, comfortable bed, and was super clean. The desk clerk made us feel very welcome during our stay. Breakfast staff worked hard to keep up with the demand for food. Cinnamon rolls were delicious; I wish I had tried them the 1st morning. Housekeeping staff were friendly as well.
We were in town for an event and honestly just wanted a decent place to stay overnight without caring much about brand. What we didnt realize was how awesome this hotel turned out to be. It was super-clean from top to bottom. Every staff member was friendly and polite, and greeted us every time they seen us. And the breakfast bar was amazing. It was very clean, organized, well-stocked, and had a great variety of items to choose from. There were utensils easily available for each item, and everything was labeled. The jelly display was like a piece of art! And the hostess was constantly cleaning and tidying up everything. We will definitely be staying here again when we return next year.
We booked this hotel as we were driving down the highway. We didnt know what to expect, but it was such a great surprise after a long drive. The hotel staff was friendly upon arrival, our room was extremely clean upon entering, and the beds were so comfortable. Great job with the renovations! Our only wish was that the mini-fridge would have turned off and not been so noisy all night. We would definitely stay here again!
Great location proximal to Ohio Expo Center as well as MAPFRE Stadium. Pleasant daytime staff, nighttime staff was less accommodating. Strange odor inside of hotel kind of a mixture of Skunk and Cigarettes especially prevalent in later hours. I will try this hotel for one additional stay before coming to a decision regarding its future viability.
I was a little worried to stay here based on area & some reviews however my stay was great. The staff was SO nice, rooms were clean & comfortable & I felt safe. I left some jeans in my room & I received a call letting me know and I was able to retrieve them. I was so thankful. I will definitely stay here again next year when I’m in town for the Congress.
Super comfy beds and pillows! Room darkening shades and quiet hours between 9pm-9am, all make for a great nights sleep! This place is well worth the price. Our King size room was updated and they even offer name brand body wash, shampoo, conditioner as well as a hair dryer all in your room. Plus a Keurig coffee maker and fridge too! I would highly recommend staying here if you are ever in the area!
Ive stayed here several times over the last ten years.. What a surprise to see how they remodeled the hotel. My room was clean, spacious and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed Ive slept in at a hotel. The breakfast which was included in my stay was very good and a nice assortment to choose from ( hot, cold, cereal etc )
From the sketchy neighborhood to the signs warning of no hotel responsibility for vehicle damage in their own lot, the feeling of “Did I make a mistake?” permeates the mood around this Holiday Inn Express. Inside, the room was OK although short on basics like toilet paper and Kleenex. The staff were very nice and helpful, but we wouldn’t stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel last minute so I didnt have the opportunity to search and read reviews. I knew the area was busy that weekend and I would have limited choices. I called to see if they had a room and there was one left. Holiday Inn has a good name so I took the chance. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and updated. I especially liked the bathroom set up. Bed/pillows were comfortable. Air conditioning worked great especially considering it hit over 90 degrees that weekend. The breakfast variety was good and again very friendly staff. I ended up asking for a little later check out at the last minute and they gave me another hour. I was never disturbed by housekeeping. Parking was easy and right by entry doors. As far as a hotel stay goes, you really couldnt ask for anything more.
Rooms were not ready upon arrival. We had to cancel our dinner reservation for that evening. We had to request fresh towels after housekeeping cleaned the room and didn’t leave any. At check out my bill and my in-laws were reversed. Upon returning home and reviewing my credit card statement I found an error. When I called the hotel direct and asked to speak to a manager the clerk said the manager I asked for was not on duty. I informed her of the situation and was put on hold. The manager I request when I initially called answered the line then. Poor management personnel. I was not happy with anything other then breakfast.
This property always goes out of its way to make sure myself and my Family are comfortable and pleased with the selection of this hotel. The front desk staff was professional and accommodating. Had my room ready and had a note, inmy room thanking me for staying, discussing the weather conditions for the time frame of my visit. Very assuring and comforting at the same time. Property Staff is always pleasant, and helpful. ALWAYS.This is among one of the cleanest well cared for propertys we visit on a regular basis.
The customer service was fast and excellent, the room was very clean and bathroom was spacious. Even though weathered the property is maintained well and kept very clean. The beds were comfortable. Free HBO HD channels added to the comfort.Breakfast areas was spacious with sufficient space between tables.Didnt use the pool but it looked clean and much larger than various other hotels.Easy access from the highway and 5-10 drive from downtown, German Village, Scioto Mile, and COSI.The neighborhood appeared to be run down but that was reflected in the pricing. Once inside the hotel it really did not make a difference and we enjoyed our stay.
The manager greeted us and was professional and courteous. My and my companions handicap was accomodated by having a first floor room. My service dog was readily accepted. The breakfast was well presented and tasty. There was a variety of selections suitable for any dietary restrictions. My number one reason for choosing Holiday Inn Express for my travel needs is that of all the places Ive stayed I feel safe at your locations. My highest compliments to the manager of this particular hotel, and to the people who set up the breakfast room. Especially to the person who put smiley faces and have a nice day on the bananas. What a great way to start the day. Oh, and I definitely want to say that the coffee was delicious! A huge thank you to everyone responsible for our comfortable stay :-)
We stayed here for 1 night. When we checked in see realized the refrigerator was not on and would not turn on which was not a big deal so we did not call about the problem. The beds were ok, but things went downhill the next morning. The coffee maker did not work and it runs out the plugs there did not work. That is why the fridge did not work either. The toilet almost overflowed, but thankfully we were able to continue to flush until it worked again. When we checked out the next morning I mentioned the fridge and coffee maker and the person said something to the effect of oh yeah, they wouldnt work because the plug doesnt work - if they knew, why didnt they fix it?!?
This is a great place to stay in Columbus. All of the employees are genuinely helpful and great personalities. Love the comfort of the rooms and the overall cleanliness of everything. Several selections for food with a short drive in any direction. Easy to get in and out of and is located right next to the interstate.
We booked this hotel for a wrestling tournament at the expo center. Hotel is ok however the location was horrible. Did not feel safe leaving my car in parking lot or going out side after dark. Felt like a prison surrounded by tall cyclone fences but the parking lot was still open to any passer bys. Beds were comfortable but super high which was an issue for our small dog who could not jump up or down off them safety. Breakfast choices were extremely limited but did like the pancakes. Coffee was always available and good. Would not stay at this location again.
We arrived very late. The check in was very easy and staff was very friendly. I was greeted as Spire member. The room was very clean and nice. It is a little bit small but ok. However, when reached the hotel area, we did not feel safe. But it was dark so we could not see well. It looked like very bad area. The breakfast was good and staffs did a good job to keep the place clean and full of foods. In the morning, we actually paid more attention to surrounding area, it was actually not very nice. We will select a different hotel next time.
The bed is comfortable, but too high if you are short or disabled. The pillows were wonderful! The room was clean. A nice breakfast was offered. It was nice to have turkey sausage offered since I do not eat red meat. It was nice to have fresh fruit. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy.
The breakfast area is a little small (the breakfast itself was fine), as is the lobby area when compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels. The pool is chilly. Still, the rooms were decent-sized (we had a double queen room) and very updated. The rooms have a pleasant modern feel that I really enjoyed. The beds were comfortable too. Id definitely stay here again if/when I return to Colombus.
While this hotel is right next to the large soccer stadium, its customer service MORE than makes up for a little noise from sports fans! (Be aware - you WILL hear the announcers, music and fan noise from the soccer stadium next door ~ it quit about 10:45 that night, though. Can easily be drowned out by A/C running). We selected this location online, never having been here before. We were warmly greeted the moment we stepped in the door! The front desk staff was amazingly helpful, ALWAYS present (which was good, as my son was nervous about security) and always friendly. The beds were incredibly comfortable and made for a very good nights rest! This propertys attention to small detail (calling us by name) was greatly appreciated! They had large plastic balls available for anyones use in the pool and was very helpful, as we normally forget pool toys while traveling!Rooms were spotless; water was piping hot; free breakfast had hot food and filled us up! Breakfast crew person was amazingly friendly and even prepared a snack bag for my son to take on the road!Very comfortable, extremely good customer service and attention to small details made this an EXCELLENT property!
We were greeted by two friendly front desk attendants who were very helpful in helping us find a restaurant we liked. The only downside to this property was that the neighborhood was run-down and didnt make a good impression. Since we had a reservation we decided to go in and decide if we wanted to stay, and the inside was totally pleasant and newly updated. We felt very comfortable there, and it was a great price.
I was a guest of this hotel for 6 days and found it to be a superior hotel experience. The staff was friendly and professional and my requests were all handled in a cheerful and prompt manner. My room and the entire hotel were spotless. The hostess team who prepared our free breakfast each morning did a great job and the food was tasty and carefully prepared and displayed. The computer and printer in the lobby were a great service, very handy for checking emails or printing boarding passes. When I checked out I left a very important item in the room and when i called the front desk to ask for help, I was very impressed. My item was immediately located and arrangements to ship it back to me were made in a seamless and stress free manner. This hotel will be my new hotel of choice when visiting family and friends in columbus. Well done!
We had a nice stay at this location. The rooms were very nice especially for the price point. The breakfast had few items as most had been eaten and not refilled. We were down at 8 so this surprised me. We did have a embarrassing situation as our kids generated a noise complaint however the staff handled it perfectly and we made sure they quieted down.
I stayed 6/11/19-6/13/19 . The hotel has been remodeled since the lasts time i stayed there & very nice. The rooms were nice and spacious, the bed was probably the most comfortable bed Ive slept in. I was greeted each time I came or left. The breakfast was really good and included in the cost of my room. I highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel upon arrival wasnt all that amazing; however as soon as I entered the hotel it was like a whole new world. The staff was very pleasant, the lobby, breakfast area, and room were very clean. The one great thing about this hotel is that the staff seem like they truly care and that is something you dont really see often enough at a hotel. The front desk staff made my stay very personable, the head housekeeper was just a delight to speak to in the elevator. Even the breakfast hostess in the morning was just a pleasure.I would definitely visit this location again!
Overall stay was comfortable and quiet. Had a problem with the bathroom - a leak from the unit above. Walked in and it looked like it had rained. Front desk and staff was attentive and helpful though. Very important that maintenance addresses this immediately - could turn into a major issue if not fixed. Appreciate the quick help from staff and offer to switch rooms (I declined, was checking out soon anyway).
The rooms looked great, breakfast was great, staff was very polite. Especially the person making breakfast. Down falls, swimming pool has really bad ventilation and smells like bleach. My 10 year old was the only one who could stand being in there for more than 5 minutes. Bathroom door wouldnt latch but unmade staff aware of it. Though the rooms looked great they still smelled as if they were freshly painted making it hard to sleep. Way over priced for one night stay when you wanted to swim and couldnt.
The hotel has been mostly updated there were still some renovations going on but the only sign of that was in the elevator. The rooms were nice and have a fridge and microwave, as someone who travels for work I hate when these arent available. The beds were nice and comfortable. On Saturday the hotel had a food truck come in and offered free food to guests. They brought it in for the Good Guys car show since many of the guests were there for that reason. I was there because I was working at the event. The free food was nice and showed that the management cares.
We originally had booked for the holiday in express in Polaris but they called 30 min before check in and said their pool was broken. So after calling around this is the hotel we got. This was supposed to be a nice little weekend getaway with my family so we could swim and shop. The pool was freezing cold the room we booked was supposed to accommodate 5 there were only 2 queen beds when asked they just said sorry... my son had to sleep on the floor. There were stains on the sheets. Some of the staff were very rude being on their cell phone but some were helpful. Overall I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again
We were able to get this hotel at the last minute but did not expect it to be situated in the neighborhood that it is. The hotel itself was fairly clean with a few issues that I wish were handled differently. I am particular when it comes to a clean bathroom and that was disturbing that the staff only took down my complaint but did not address it. The phone in the room was not working and although not major, not addressed either. Overall, the beds were comfortable and the stay was pleasant.
My wife and granddaughter and myself spent the day at the Columbus zoo. We decided to stay here and it was pretty close to perfect. I loved the choice in breakfast examples are eggs, sausage, bacon pancakes waffles biscuits and gravy to name a few. The rooms are very nice. They have refrigerator and microwaves. They also have a big TV. The rooms are very clean and modern.
We chose the Inn due to location to OSU and previous positive stays at other Inns. Easy to get to. Good and free parking.Friendly and welcoming staff. Very clean facility. Good Quick breakfast. The coffee in the lobby was great! The room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean. The bed, pillows and linens were comfortable. There is a Wendys next bv to the facility which was great for a quick late meal after a concert at OSU. The only issue was the bed was too high for me.Easy driving to other interesting places in Columbus. We had time the next day to go to German town. We would stay again and reccomend to others.
Hotel is fine. Rooms are average. Shower had small stains on walls. Breakfast is good. After we checked out extra charges were added to credit card. Upon calling, front desk said manager wouldnt be available for 24 hours and there was no way to dispute charges.IHG Customer Service never responded after calling them.Weve been staying in Holiday Inn hotels for years with zero problems until now. Unfortunately it looks like all those membership points will go to waste now.
Very clean, very friendly staff and very quiet. Staff very helpful. Had a smelly shower curtain , brought it to front desk attention and it was replaced immediately. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices. Hot food was hot and cold food was cold. Very good overall experience. Only thing I would suggest is, if you are short you need to bring a little step stool to get on the bed. They are very tall, but also very comfortable.
Definitely a short overnight stay hotel. Love Morgantown WV location better. This location didnt have a hot tub and office area was not very private. Staff friendly but not knowledgeable considering they were new. Lobbys main menu book consisted of all high priced ritzy dining. Was additional restaurant book though in hallway. Decor was very nice and contemporary but beds were extremely high off ground. Room specs great and bed/comforter/pillows all very comfortable and exquisite. Would love option to buy bedding items, especially pillow.
First, I hate giving bad reviews. I always try to look for the positives. In this case the positives are the niceness of the check in/check out staff. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the woman working the breakfast was constantly working and doing a good job.The negatives, it isnt cleaned very well. The hallway by the elevator was filthy and sticky from 8pm to 830am the next morning. There was hair all over the bathroom counter and sink- like a mans razor stubble in the sink and around it and longer hair on the counter and floor. The room floor wasnt vacuumed (or it was done poorly.) Two different dried liquids spilled on the low counter by the TV. And my least favorite, hair on the sheets when I pulled back the covers. The neutrals, the gym is small but decent, however there is nothing to clean the equipment with. There is a lot of road noise, I slept fine but if you need quiet, this isnt the location for you.I used to clean rooms many many years ago, I would have never passed inspections like this.
Fantastic quality hotel with super nice pair of desk women. Parking spaces generous and welcome cookies delightful.Breakfast woman wonderful.HIE always relatively expensive, but this one at the top of that.Room immaculate, but at this rate you expect a super experience. To that, this room had ZERO on the white walls. We got the immediate impression that this room had not been finished, but rushed in to service to contribute to revenue. Felt like I had just bought a new house, but hadnt decorated yet.
This was me and my wifes second time staying here. We go to a 3-day rock festival every year. We love that it is close to the MAPHRE stadium and that we can walk there. Normally Im a budget hotel person, but the extra cost of this hotel is worth saving on daily parking and the time saved by simply walking.I dont know if there were many after parties in the rooms here after the concert let out. We certainly didnt here them if there were. We enjoy the quiet time when we get back. The staff here is always very friendly and makes you feel welcomed and at home. Im paranoid of getting bed bugs, so I check first thing. The room was spotless and clean of them. Its been a couple weeks and no bites.Overall, it is a great experience and I will likely be coming back next year.
I stayed at this hotel the week of 3/4/2019. I had prepaid for 3 rooms. However, prior to arriving I noticed that my credit card had been billed for 2 additional rooms. I called the hotel and they said my account would be credited. To date, ( 3 days later) and still no credit. Hoping Holiday Inn Express credits me back the money owed. Until this situation is corrected, I would not recommend staying here. Other than that, the room was nice, clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was very nice too.
Room was very nice. Staff was nice. Everything was clean. The only issue I had was at check in my debit card was declined. I had more than enough in the bank. After the system declined my debit card, they tried charging it manually, but it declined again. I called my bank the next day and they said the hotel got the expiration date wrong? I was in Pittsburgh later that week and the debit card worked fine.
I loved the efforts of the staff to make me feel comfortable and meet my needs. I wasnt crazy about the location of this hotel upon arrival. Traveling alone and arriving late, I wasnt sure of the neighborhood. After spending some time, all seemed well, my car was safe and the experience was great! The price of a room compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses was a tad high for the quality and condition of the rooms and amenities. I had a great stay, though, and would recommend.
This is a family run business and they try to make your stay perfect. I didnt have any negative experiences on the four days we stayed there. Rooms were clean, even the stairways were clean, breakfast was very good and well stocked, coffee around the clock , housekeeping was very nice, very little if any noise. I was a little concerned with the safety of the area but I was told they have security cameras.
This hotel is decent. The rooms were clean and fairly comfortable. It appeared they were recently renovated. The bed was absurdly tall. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy. The elevator was broken the entire time we were there despite them telling us it would be fixed within a day which was annoying because we were there for a sports tournament and had to drag gear up and down the stairs.
Everything was very good with check-in and check-out, the room was clean and comfortable and the beds were GREAT.Were caught by surprise that there was no room service to make the beds, empty the trash cans, or replace the towels; we had to go to the front desk to get these items, empty our own trash and get a roll of toilet paper. Finally found a very small card that you needed to place on the bed if you wanted the room serviced; VERY POOR. Too bad, everything else was really good, but this is enough to prevent us from staying again. Bad way to try and save money.
I was impressed with the settings the very first walked into the hotel and surely I was told the hotel was renovated last summer, with I believe what they called formula blue. I didnt ask, but I assume the bedding were all replaced, clean and firm. Sufficient USB charging ports across the room, nice. I definitely will first check out this hotel again when Im in the area next time.
The pool was never operational. The door to my room was not locked when I first arrived, and would not stay locked. They switched rooms, and the door on that room drug so bad that my grandkids could not open it. By that time I just wanted the experience to end. I have been a loyal customer, but this was a terrible experience. As I said, the breakfast was good.
The rooms are comfortable, especially the pillows. Hotel staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast was above average, for example, with bacon cooked perfectly crisp, which is unusual when served in a buffet. The only downside is that room sound from the floor above us made sleep difficult.
Usually breakfasts containing eggs are either cold or rubbery, these egg omlets were quite good. Kids loved the pool.Even though the hotel is remodeling everything was clean and the new rooms are lovely. Breakfast choices were many, kids loved the pancake maker! I loved having flavored coffee creamer - oh also the Keurig pot in the room!
The rooms and hotel was nice and clean; the rooms were nice we could have used another blanket or two and the bathroom could have been stocked with a few more wash cloths and towels. The inside pool area was extremely hot the temperature in the room should have been about twenty degrees cooler.
Im always impressed with the Client friendly atmosphere provided here. As a frequent guest, 4 to 5 time a year, Im always amazed by the level of service I receive. Its like I stayed 2 to 3 times a week. They always know me, they always provide a higher level of service and make personal additions to my stay that I havent found on other properties. Its a feeling I look forward to on my long trip to arrive. Ive never been disappointed, always WOWED. ;)
I come to Columbus monthly for work and had made this my choice hotel because of location at first and just kept staying here. The price was right, the hotel was new enough and the staff was always friendly. The last stay will make me pick a new hotel in the Columbus area. My room was filthy despite me waiting in the lobby for an extra 45 mins while they got it ready. Grime on the workstation table, the shower was dirty, the mirror in the bathroom dirty, hair (lots of hair) on the towels, no toilet paper, no soap. Then when I went to take a shower and chose to walk around barefoot for 5 mins throughout the room. When I got my feet wet it looked like I walked through coal dust. Finally, there were active spider webs in the stairwell & food trash in the stairwell. This hotel is in disarray.
We enjoyed our stay here. We spent 2 nights here and would definitely go back. Staff were super friendly and made you feel welcome. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable .The only negative at all was the breakfast. In all fairness we didnt eat there because it just didnt look that appetizing and the coffee was mediocre. Everything else was very good. Would definitely recommend.
My wife and I went to this hotel for a nice weekend getaway. We not only chose the hotel, but even partially the city, due to certain amenities at the hotel. A large part of this being the availability of a room with a jacuzzi. We were very disappointed though.First off, the hotel really isnt in the greatest neighborhood. Its not a terrible neighborhood, but not one I was comfortable in either. After arriving and checking in, there were a lot of problems though.Once we got to our room, it was very hot and uncomfortable. We turned on the air conditioner to the highest setting possible and then tried the jacuzzi. Sadly, neither of these things worked. The air conditioner was barely functional and the jacuzzi didnt work at all. After calling the front desk, we were told that someone would come and take a look at the jacuzzi, which they did, and we were told it didnt work. There were no other jacuzzi rooms available, so we were told wed get a discount for that (which we did), but when I mentioned the air conditioning didnt work properly either and requested some sort of compensation for that, we were told that they would have to check with management, which apparently didnt work out. We ended up having a miserable nights sleep due to the heat of the room. The following day (we were there for two days), we received a phone call that someone would come up and look at the air conditioning and the jacuzzi. Due to this, we ended basically needing to leave the room all day, which was not really the plan. Upon our return, the jacuzzi worked, sort of, and the air conditioning was mostly fixed. It appeared the unit had to be replaced.Upon check out, we found out that there was NO discount given for the (lack of) air conditioning and no one bothered to check back in with us about that or about the repairs that were done. This was really a terrible experience. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was decent, but this does not make up for the problems we encountered. The fact that no one seemed very concerned about this, especially the air conditioning when it was almost 90 degrees outside, was very upsetting. We would have appreciated some sort of solutions for the problems, but that didnt happen.I couldnt possibly recommend this hotel less.
They were undergoing renovations when I stayed there but they kept everything really clean and quiet. Their internet was very reliable and really fast. The room was clean and well decorated. Also, the breakfast selection was better than most places Ive stayed at. Will definitely stay there again.
The newly updated rooms are awesome! I hope this style is going to be used at more of the HI Express Inns. It is much more conducive when traveling with one or two other people. There is now a long bench you can use to sit on or put multiple luggage on to unpack ( or live out of ). Before we fought over who got to use the luggage stand and who used the chair in the room to sit their luggage on. The colors are very relaxing and I absolutely love that hotels have finally realized there needs to be a convenient place to hang your hand towel! I didnt have a chance to use the pool but I did check it out. The water temp was good and it didnt smell mildewy or over chlorinated like some do at other hotels. This hotel is currently going through renovations during the day so as not to disturb the guests. There is only one elevator though so there can be quite a wait between the workers having to haul items out to the trash and the cleaning staff using it AND everyone trying to get down to breakfast and/or checked out. Renovations wont last much longer so do not let that deter you.
I was so impressed with the hotel. It was clean, the room was comfortable and the staff was very helpful. They even went out of their way to help me with a last minute issue for my daughter before her horse show. One thing that we LOVED was that when we finally had a chance to come to the hotel to relax the kids found pool noodles and pool balls floating in the pool waiting for them. Mood lifter and built in fun. This is so rare to find at a hotel. The kids had a blast and the hotel stayed up to my expectations for cleanliness and comfort. Win win in my book! We will be staying here again in July, rooms already booked and the kids are already hoping for pool time!
Found old food in fridge with an unpleasant odor. Keurig & microwave did not work and GFCI that they plugged into did not work (no green light) tried another outlet but Keurig still did not work - probably the cause of the GFCI failure. No shower gel, conditioner or facial tissues in bathroom.Reported all this to front desk and was told it would be addressed and some reward points added to my account.Only action taken was the spoiled food was removed from fridge, no other issues addressed and no points have been deposited into my account therefore, this was a very disappointing experience
Good hotel, price was reasonable and competitive with other hotels in the area. breakfast was great, the desk attendant was awesome (kayla). rooms could be a little better insulated as we were woken up by our next door guests at 1230/1 in the morning being load in their room. beds were a little uncomfortable. (used to my memory foam mattress). over all a good stay.
The staff member that checked us in was very nice and friendly inspite of the late hour. No complaints about staff I dealt with at all.The room appeared to have been occupied and not cleaned. I have seen cleaner barn floors than that room. Thank goodness it was a double so we could choose what side seemed cleaner. The first bed we pulled down the top sheet and discovered hairs on the sheets as though the bedding hadnt been changed. Second bed was tolerable.I give THIS room a bad rating as we were not to restful knowing we had to dodge ground in dirt in the carpeting whenever we needed to get up. I have never had this experience in any other of your hotels. Possibly all the bad weather at that time kept the room crew away, but still..........
The staff at this hotel was very friendly and accommodating. Each staff member greeted us each time we walked through the lobby, they answered any and all questions and assisted with any need presented. We were traveling with a high school athletic team of 8 boys and everything went smoothly from check in to check out. Although there were active renovations going on on higher floors, it was clean and quiet.
We stayed the weekend as part of the water polo finals at Ohio State University. The hotel was perfectly located for ease in getting to the University. The room was spacious and very clean. Based on other reviews, we were skeptical. Im pleased to say we were very pleased with the accommodations. The area felt very safe to us. The hotel staff was very friendly and always cheerful. The common areas were very well kept and clean. The only part I would recommend is updating the rooms. Although, being near a college campus I can understand why this may not be practical. The room space was ample. The refrigerator was cold. The heating/air conditioning unit worked well. There was a good variety of pillows and the bedding was comfortable. The towels were a little rough. For the price and the amenities, I think its a very good value. The breakfast items were fresh and varied. The room was clean.
We have stayed at this location several times during our kids education at OSU - the location is convenient for football games, concerts, visits and cabs. This time I was really impressed by the Front Desk staff - they couldnt have been more friendly and willing to help. Sunday evening we met the security guard - she was sooo nice - I love the personal touch and working in customer service I definately notice the smiles and the willingness to help customers - very important. The rooms were nice, clean and the air conditioning worked amazingly - slept great!
Was very pleased overall with the staff, cleanliness and condition of the hotel. The sofa bed I used, however, was not very comfortable. There was only one extra pillow but I was only there one night so it was OK. I was told on check-in that the $2.99 environmental fee was optional. My friend got the receipt for me and when I got home, I was charged even though I declined on check-in.
We stayed at this hotel due to a family member having a major operation at the Ohio State James Cancer Center. From the beginning they went above and beyond from finding us the best rates possible until the time we checked out. The gentleman working the front desk printed us better directions to the hospital, ran menus directly to our door, helped us have a fax sent to us, they even sent us to the hospital with cinnamon rolls when they realized we would not be able to have breakfast. The kids loved that there were balls in the pool to play with and the hotel looked so sleek, modern and inviting! It was a great stay given the circumstances! Having 3 children with us during such an emotional time could have been so stressful but this hotel eased much of that stress by having so much available for them to do.
I booked this hotel due to his close proximity to the Ohio State Fairgrounds. When I got my rental car at the airport I was warned about the area I was staying in. Upon driving up to the hotel I was immediately worried. Not a a great part of town at all. When I checked in I was greeted by a very nice front desk clerk that helped me with my check in process and was very very accommodating. While the location was horrible the exterior of the hotel looked nice, what I expect from Holiday Inn Expresses, however once I got to my room I was super disappointed. They mentioned they were remodeling but everything have the room was dated expect the paint. The television and all of the furniture was dated and the carpet felt odd. The bathroom was average but the shower was dirty and got water everywhere. Internet was confusing and hard to keep a connection. There were no outlets close to the bed. Overall i would NEVER recommend this hotel especially to families.
Our stay was good, room was very clean and well equipped. Staff was helpful and friendly. The building is under remodel and there were some problems. The elevator was like a padded cell, the matt in front of the elevator was curled up, hallways didnt smell the greatest and they were very dark and ugly. I have been in better neighborhoods than this hotel is in.
I have stayed at this Holiday Inn 26 times in the last several years. I know how many times its been because on my 25th stay I got a gift bag with food in it!! Everytime I have stayed here the staff has been amazing. I am treated like a VIP each time. All areas of the hotel are always clean and well maintainted. One thing I really appreciate is that the light is always turned on in my room when I get there. Theres nothing I hate more than walking into a dark hotel room and groping for a light switch. Im not always happy about driving to Columbus for meetings but knowing that Ill have a great experience at the HIE on Hudson makes the trip better.
We found the hotel to be clean an comfortable. The mattress, pillows, staff and breakfast were above average. I found it a little pricey, but with the government discount applied a great value. We were pleased about the Ohio State Fair access and discounts that were offered. Yes, we would stay again!
We loved this place from the minute we walked in! Everything is so clean and welcoming. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed here 3 nights while attending a concert. Our room was so clean and nice! The morning breakfast was very nice! So many choices and it was delicious! We loved all the extra things they provided, the apple a day and cookies, and just how clean everything was :) Our bed was so comfortable, we slept so well, had such a great stay! The staff was so friendly and helped us with all our needs. We will definitely stay here again, it was great 5 star service! Thanks so much!
The front desk staff was very nice. The staff overall were nice. Both mornings we were there we received a knock on our door, repeated 3 times from housekeeping at around 8:00AM. Not good. The floor we were staying on was noisy until after midnight and a couple of the rooms seemed to have many adults and children staying in them, as in way over capacity.I stay in hotels all over the country and this was by far the worst experience I have had. Sorry, wish I could say something more positive.
Upon driving up to this hotel, it looked to be in a rougher part of the city, plus the outside wasnt so inviting. Once inside the hotel, however, the hotel was nice, very clean, and the desk staff was very friendly. The stay was great and the room was clean. The breakfast in the morning was a little off (the biscuits were hard as a rock) but other than that, it was ok.
We have had great success nationwide with IHG brand hotels when we travel. We were there the weekend of The Arnold Classic and the hotel was booked to capacity. We were given a room that matched our preferred preferences. However after a long day, all we wanted to do was sleep and we have a young child. At around midnight, we heard consistent loud banging, drinking, and cursing. The occupants in the room next to us were out of control and had their door wide open. It was VERY evident they were partying. Unfortunately, even after complaining and a visit from hotel security, they continued on partying in a loud and obnoxious way. We were so disturbed we left in the middle of the night. The hotel staff should have kicked them out instead. It was a complete waste of money for the visit. We were fortunate to only live a few hours away. If we would have been out of state, this would have been a much bigger deal. I would say they arent to be held responsible, but this is their establishment and they have the right to remove guests if they so choose. Very disappointing and isolated.
From check in I noticed right away how well they treated their guests. People who were already checked in were stopping by to say hello to the front desk as I was checking in and all the staff at the hotel was exceptional. They were very considerate and eager to help, especially Trusha (sp?). Everything about the hotel was very clean. I cant even nitpick here, everything was very much above average. This is coming from someone who has spent over 8 months in the last year living in hotel rooms.
Check in was fine just would have liked to see the staff a little friendlier. Son slipped on the water outside the pool door while going to our room. Pool was a mess and there was no towels. The room was pretty clean. The internet worked on some of our devices but not all. Beds werent very comfortable but we made the best of it. Over all experience was not the greatest for the price.
The front desk person was so polite and friendly. The general staff acknowledge the guest and were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was good looking and clean. The surrounding neighborhood was not so good, but the security of the hotel with gates help me feel secure. The breakfast was good . The kitchen staff very helpful with helping you choose.
I hated that for one the pool smelled like chlorine so strong, it was cloudy you couldnt even see the bottom of the pool. I had to put eye drops in both of my kids eyes when they were done swimming. Let alone the water was freezing! The room was dirty and had mold on the cracks by the door. The bed sheets and blankets had blood stains on them. Some soccer event was going on around there, lots of kids heard loudly running around the halls late at night. And the neighborhood is extremely sketchy, people standing near the hotel doors begging for money for the bus! The tiles in the bathroom were cracked. I understand the hotel was under maintenance, so the elevators were covered in cardboard. They were extremely slow also. But, the other issues, (bloody blankets and sheets) are inexcusable! Also, the room had a funny smell when we first walked in. Good thing I always bring my own blankets, sheets, and a can of air freshener!
This was our second stay in this hotel and it is consistently positive. Rooms are clean and updated, good tv and channel selection and solid wireless connection and speed. The only downside was noise from above and in the hallway on the second night. They do have signs posted in the halls next to the elevator about kids playing and noise levels so they are trying. I think it is a popular place for sports teams so they cater to that population.Staff is ALWAYS friendly, helpful and professional. Would definitely stay there again.
The staff was awesome... Our car broke down when arriving in Columbus. We were supposed to stay the night and leave early next day, but the car took all day to fix. The staff, specially Melissa, helped us find things to do, recommended the mechanic, order food, etc. In all we had a great experience out of it.The hotel is also pretty good. The pool was fun for the kids, while we used the fitness center, which was small but good enough to use for a quick workout.Breakfast was also good, with a good variety of choices.
Went do a basketball tournament and needed a nice clean hotel near the arena. Exceeded our expectations. Rooms extremely clean. Wonderful staff. Larger choice of food than most for breakfast. Really comfortable beds and good climate control led to a very restful night and a nice start to our next day.
Samantha and her staff are great - very professional and friendly. Whirlpool tub not the best for tall people but still relaxing. Coffee maker in the room could be a little bigger than the 1-cup however, the coffee in the café was good. Will be back to stay at this hotel again - very convenient.
Overall, the stay was very enjoyable. It was quiet and clean which are the 2 most important factors to me. The hotel is in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood but the proximity to the interstate and the airport was a plus. I also liked the beautiful flowering tree outside my window.
The staff seems very concerned and interested in pleasing the customers. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean and modern. The room was not quite ready at four but they were very accomodating. The breakfast offered a great deal of variety and they did not object to us grabbing a banana or apple early (before they officially opened). Great staff. :)
The staff greeted us warmly and left a note and bag of goodies in our room for us upon checkin.Despite not being in the best neighborhood, the hotel and parking lot was well kept. We felt our vehicle was safe during our stay.We stayed for a rock festival down the road at the crew stadium, and the hotel was sold out. In years past at different hotels, we had issues with noisy neighbors, but had no issues at this hotel. Walls are well insulated and soundproofed. Also this rock festival is what my wife and I chose for our honeymoon. The staff gave us a free room upgrade and made a nice card greeting us and thanking us for choosing their hotel for our stay.
The staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in. They answered our questions and made suggestions of places to visit. The room was comfortable and specious. I liked the firmness of the pillows written on the pillowcases as I had a choice which one to use. The bathroom was clean and everything worked. The breakfast selection could have included more choices of fruit. The notes on the bananas made me smile. On the last day of our stay we went to breakfast at 9:30 am, half an hour before closing and the pancake machine was taken away, however I am not sure if the pancake batter was used up or it is the process of closing down. Over all it was very good experience.
This was my favorite Holiday Inn that Ive stayed at, and I travel a lot with work. I was welcomed right away by staff and the Welcome Board in the lobby. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very clean and comfortable. The only issue is one elevator in that whole building makes the wait to get to and from your floor more than expected. The amenities in this hotel far outweigh this, though.
This is by far the best Holiday Inn Ive been too. Trusha at the front desk was pleasent and friendly and gave us a nice upgrade to our room. There were cookies at the front desk for a snack. The room was sparkling clean. The pool area was even cleaner! Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Debbie did a great job at breakfast, making sure everything was stocked and ready to go. It was only her second day on the job! Really super hotel with kind, friendly staff and nice atmosphere! Will ALWAYS stay here when in the Columbus area!
We really enjoyed our stay! The staff was courteous and provided many extras to make our visit welcoming. The beds are VERY comfortable!!! It was a convenient and short trip to the Expo. Center. The rooms were very clean, as well as the public areas. Breakfast was good. The pool was old--but seemed clean. Every one of the staff, from housekeeping to the front desk were polite and helpful. Wed definitely return!!
Upon arrival, no one else to be checked in, the attendant made it sound too difficult to give me four key cards for the four adults staying in the room. She had already made two and said if two more were made at a later time the original two would no longer work. I guess she couldnt put two and two together and just remake four cards right then and there. I didnt realize feather pillows were a thing these days with so many people having environmental allergies but by the second night I figured out that feathers were why I couldnt breathe. At that point it would have been a major hassle trying to get another pillow in the middle of the night. We were in town for a hockey tournament and had a snow storm which cancelled our Sunday games. We were all exhausted and slept late. We had already reserved the room for another night and hung the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door so we could rest undisturbed. The cleaning lady banged on all the nearby doors, including ours, while yelling cleaning service!. She then parked her cart right outside our door and proceeded to bang the doors open and closed on the cart many, many, many times for at least an hour. It was impossible to rest and relax, let alone sleep, like we all desperately needed. The room was clean and comfortable, other than the above mentioned. It did take 15 to 20 minutes for the shower water to get hot the first day we stayed.
Ive stayed at 2 of these hotel locations in last month. This OH location was ok...The room decor and setup was amazingly beautiful and very comfortable. The beds were set up super high from floor, there was no hot tub here, pool was small and the office was in foyer of main lobby with not much privacy. I enjoyed the WV location more.
This was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, the hotel was not very clean, but tolerable for a weekend. However, we stayed three nights and didnt clean our room the two days we were there. When I called the front desk to ask to speak to a manager about the issue the second day, no manager was present. I asked for a manager to call me back and they never did. The front desk employee assisted us with getting towels and toiletries, but she had to leave her front desk duties to do so. I doubt they actually clean the rooms between guests based on what I observed. We will never stay there again when we visit Columbus.
We first had gone to check in to a hotel in the area that offered a really cheap rate, but when we walked in to that hotel, I immediately saw that it was not kept up at all. I asked to see a room before we booked it and I am glad because we decided not to stay there. I googled other hotels and prices and found the Holiday Inn Express. It was very reasonable and weve always had good experiences with Holiday Inn Express in other cities. This was no exception. We walked in to an updated, comfortable atmosphere that made me feel like they cared about their reputation. When we got to our room, it was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, smelled fresh, and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay again when I go back for business this fall.
I chose this HI for its location, so that I would be close to the hospital in Columbus where I had an early morning meeting. For this purpose, the location was very good. However, on arrival I was concerned about the surrounding area and noted the caveat in the parking area about the hotel not being responsible for any losses. While this may be standard, it looked like this could be possible.Check in was slow, because of a family ahead of me, but the clerk was very kind and apologetic for the delay.Once in the room, I found the microwave was not plugged in and I needed someone to come and do this. The microwave and fridge were on a unit that was heavy and I didnt want to pull the unit out myself. However, service was quick and both units worked well. There was a musty odor in the room and the carpeting was older and worn. However, the bed was comfortable, and furniture in good condition. The bath appeared to be newer and updated. The toiletries offered a good selection of necessities.Breakfast offered the usual HI items. This stay worked out well, even if I wasnt as pleased with the neighborhood and it was close to the interstate and downtown Columbus.
I was in town for the Ohio State Fall 2018 graduation. I booked two rooms. My husband and sister had a ten hour driive and I had an eight hour drive. Our hotel rooms were perfect after a long drive. The hotel staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. If they didn’t have an answer or solution to a question immediately, they had one inside an hour. Thanks Chanel, Lee, John and the kitchen staff for making our stay after long hours of driving a pleasant one.
Its been quite a few years since I stayed at this property. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all the rooms been redone and they have new beds that were replaced within the past several months. Also have a quiet hours policy from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. which I really appreciate. Other than that, everything else I noticed was up to spec with the Holiday Inn Express standards.
Your night check in staff is TERRIBLE and they were just as bad in the morning. Because I over slept, they made me get dressed (I had on my panties and bra) with my room door wide open with maids and other staff and guests in view. The horrible front desk night staff wouldn’t let my aunt in my room when she left her key to smoke and I was sleep. But however they told my aunt I was ok and asleep in my bad cause they CAME IN MY ROOM WHILE I WAS SLEEP!!!!
We booked this hotel for the night for our anniversary. Overall great hotel for the price and location. Close to everywhere we wanted to go. Jacuzzi in the room was a plus, clean hotel, nice staff. My only complaint from our stay was the complimentary breakfast - I would suggest avoiding it and either bringing your own or going out for breakfast. Otherwise overall great stay! Big comfy beds, nice jacuzzi in our room, pretty clean very relaxing!!
We stopped off at this Holiday Inn on a cross country road trip. The location was central and some of the other properties had worse reviews and so we chose this location. The hotel seemed to have plenty of guests full, near enough to drive to downtown, and close to the freeway. The girl who checked us in was fantastic and really catered to our needs. The room, however, was not as nice as any of the other Holiday Inns we had stayed in. The room was tired looking and not very clean. The rooms were not sound proof and the guests seemed to be noisy that night. Whilst the location was near downtown, it was in a less than desirable area. With the poor rooms and bad location, I would not recommend it. If the services stays the same and the interior is redone and kept clean this would be a value hotel.
The staff was great! Very friendly! But this holiday inn express wasnt quite as nice as the ones Ive stayed at before. The room seemed smaller and it was ice cold when I entered because heater was turned off completely. Breakfast didnt have the same selection that Ive seen at all over holiday inn expresses. No half & half and only a couple international delight creamers in one flavor. Sausage gravy was very dark like it was old and reused from the previous day. Biscuits were hard like they were reused as well. Sheets also seemed old and worn. Not crisp and clean like other holiday inn expresses. No bath floor mat.
The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, and gave us some good tips about getting around town. The room was clean and well appointed, and we were delighted with a candy bar with personalized wrapper! Only drawback was the parking lot was very small, and many spaces were blocked by construction equipment. The cost of the room seemed out of line with other properties in the area, but there were not many other choices that weekend.
I didnt feel safe at the hotel because the area was a bad neighborhood. The staff was friendly but we were short a towel everyday and each time I asked for one I felt like they were tracking me as so to see if I would steal it. The room was clean however the shower curtain was stained and the tile in the bathroom cracked and stained form rust, yuck! Overall mt stay was good and close to where I had to be each day so that made it worth it. I will however check a few more hotels next time due to price. If I can get a hotel cheaper and drive 10 more minutes it will be worth changing hotels.
Check in was a breeze. The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was large with plenty of space and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep. Check out was painless. No waiting at all. Would defiantly stay here again next time through Columbus. Located right off of the highway, easy on and easy off. Best experience with a Holiday Inn Express ever.
The staff were wonderful, however the rooms were not great. I first had connecting rooms as my daughters were with us the first night. That was good, except that my room was smelly, the toilet kept running, the floors were damp and only one lamp was plugged in. It was difficult to find outlets for the lamps. When my girls left, I asked for a different room, which they gave me without any questions. The second room was much better, but still not up to the usual standards which I have come to expect. In addition, the neighborhood surrounding the hotel is not the best. I was a bit worried about my car which was full of my daughters belongings, as we were dropping her off at Ohio State the next day.Im going to stay at the Holiday Inn closer to the school next time. Hopefully that will be a better experience.
I stayed ar this location on my last visit to Columbus. The front desk staff as well as the manager were amazing with their customer service. The staff even recommended lots of great food places around the city. The rooms were neat, clean and spacious. My room had a huge window and the lighting was great. I would definitely stay at this location if i ever visit Columbus again.
Hotel service was great. Spoke to a lady 2 days before my stay asking to be sure I get a joining room and was told she can’t Guarantee I get one then tells me the next day they will assign rooms. So I call back the next day and the lady I talk to didn’t have my room assigned and was very nice assigning me the joining room. I like to know for sure that I am getting a room I ask for before I travel far. When you pay for something I feel like they should make sure it happens and not make it a guessing game. Other then this it was a great experience
At first reluctant to book here due to ratings from 2016 and 2017. What a nice surprise to find new ownership and a completely renovated hotel. The staff and management/owner made us feel very welcome and were ready to assist with any needs.I rarely score anything a 10, but they deserved it.
Really appreciated the friendliness and competence of the front desk staff when arriving late at night. Room and bathroom were spotless, bed was really comfortable and loved having soft and firm pillows. I highly recommend this hotel- a pleasant surprise in an otherwise run-down area.
A large group of us book this hotel a few times a year, each time our experience has been good The staff are very freindly and quick to help. We had one small instance with a debit card being charged before the end of the stay, however the staff did take steps to rectify it. This hotel has seen some updates, and has always been very clean. Warm cookies are served in the afternoon! mmmmmOver all experience is very good :)
Theres a Family Dollar and a Wendys close to the Hotel however.you dont hear any noise. The room was clean and comfortable. Pool is open until 11pm and it was clean. Breakfast area was clean and the staff was constantly cleaning and bringing out hot food item. Cookies and the magazines by the reception desk are a nice detail. overrall my husband and I will stay again.
Everything was very nice. Very clean, very friendly staff. The only thing and this has nothing to do with the hotel is that it is in a sctechy part of town was a little nervous going to the local restaurant and stores. Getting any type of food delivered is difficult no place delivers except Dominos . But the hotel its self is very small, nice clean rooms, love the microwave, fridge and the furniture in the room. Close to Mapfire Stadium. Will stay here again.
This property could use some updates to the furnishings in the rooms, but the bedding and TV are in great shape and apparently are newer than some of the rooms other furnishings. The location was conveniently located for the purpose of my visit, but unfortunately it does not offer the convenience of being close to many restaurant options. For a comfortable place to sleep with a good breakfast this location will serve any traveler just fine.
The property was fine. Close to many things. Staff was outstanding: friendly, recommended great dining options, etc.The carpet was stained and not well vacuumed in places. Bathroom floor was not very clean. All made up for with the comfort of the bed!I would definitely stay here again.
The staff at this hotel could not be friendlier or more accommodating. The facility and the rooms were spotless and the continental breakfast was far better than most. They even had gluten free breads and bagels, perhaps because we were attending a nearby gluten free EXPO. Only down side, wish they had a shuttle to the Fairgrounds. But it is within walking distance and quite safe.
This is a top rated hotel with an affordable stay. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning personal were all very hands on and helpful. We just wanted to relax, on the way to our destination in Nashville, and this hotel made that very possible. I have never written a review before,so you really have to know how impressed I was. Thanks for the hospitality and I would surely recommend to my family and friends.
We love Holiday Inn Express. Always have a great experience. This time the elevator was not working. Fortunately, we were on the second floor and wouldnt have used it anyway. Upon check-in, we did let the front desk know. He stated it was just being used on the fourth floor. Not true. The light on the elevator call button would not illuminate. Im not sure if it was because it was a weekend, but most hotels are their busiest on the weekends so I would think there would always be a service option available. The location of the hotel is terrible. We felt very uncomfortable in the neighborhood. This is no fault of the hotel but in the future, I would investigate more prior to deciding on where to build your next location.
Found this hotel to be amazing, from the courteous and helpful front desk to the housekeeping crew. Everyone was more than accomodating and polite! The room was clean, the facilities all that were advertised, and the breakfast tasty and filling. A great hotel for anyone who needs to stay in the area.
A great hotel that was able to take care of me on a short notice. Staff was extremely polite and willing to help me with everything. The facility was very clean. Breakfast was fully stocked at all times and the positive writing on the fruit was a nice touch. Well Done! I will certainly be back.
We had a very pleasant stay at this property. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the room was large and well maintained. Breakfest could have offered a little more variety but for free there no real complaints. We will definitely stay here again when traveling to the area.
The staff at the front desk was very attentive. When I arrived in the room it had a musty unclean smell. I noticed stains on the carpet and bed skirt. The bath room smelled sour every time housekeeping supposedly cleaned it -- which means they used a dirty mop and cleaning rag. The bed was fairly comfortable with nice pillows. My concern is the lack of attention to detail i.e cleanliness. Carpets and bed linen should be inspected regularly.
I really enjoyed this hotel! Clean, recently renovated, up to date look, nice front staff, pretty decent breakfast choices (bacon sausage cereal fruit pastries, eggs, omelette, yogurt,) beds are super comfortable, pillows are great. Ac works great. Close to the expo center, I would stay again.

2022-04-24Positive: The bed was comfortable, the water was hot and there was coffee available. Negative: Not a great location, beyond closeness to our destination. Scetchy part of town. They did have security cameras up and working, which gave a little peace of mind. Very limited supplies that you would usually have in hotels. The staff was however, kind.

2022-04-29Coming in a just wanted to hurry and lay down. So I assumed it would be tons of questions and etc. Honestly walking in we were greeted with a warming welcome n only had to sign papers n given the card to our room. Room was very cozy in nice. The only reason I gave a 1 star on location was because its not the best of neighborhood. But other than where it sits it was a excellent hotel stay

2022-03-31Decent hotel with very nice staff. The location is not great. Also, when I checked into my hotel room at 9 pm, the room did not seem to have been cleaned from the last person that was in it. There was still trash in the bins. I know everyone is understaffed right now, but it is not what I would expect from a hotel.

2022-02-17Our original room still had a lot of hair in the bathroom and especially the bathtub and shower. It was clear it had not been cleaned. I hated to complain especially knowing the staff that shows up is so valuable right now but a dirty bathroom is just unacceptable. The front desk was kind and got us a new room quickly and the rest of the stay was fine.

2022-02-27I wish I could give a half star for this hotel. They did not honor our contract that was booked weeks prior. We got here and they did not have any clean rooms available. The public bathrooms were not clean; no tissue, no paper towels, and one of the sinks did not work. We were only supposed to stay a few hours until our flight leaves so we had to just go to the airport and stay until our flight.

2022-05-24Positive: It was a ten minute drive to the concert we were going to. Negative: The location, we got woke up all night to screaming and gun shots. Not a safe area.

2021-10-06We we’re in Columbus to attend a concert. The hotel was within walking distance to the venue which was extremely convenient. As soon as we arrived there was plenty of parking. You could smell the clean when you entered the hotel. There was a sign that they were short staffed but we never had to wait more than a minute. The receptionist was extremely friendly. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The variety at breakfast was surprising! A nice variety. We weren’t expecting eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy! They also had the staples like bagels and muffins. I would highly recommend staying here!

2021-10-06The rooms were large and very clean. Breakfast choices were abundant, which is fantastic at a time when many other hotels arent offering food at all. My only concern was the location of the hotel and the fact that so many people were out walking/yelling outside late at night. The hotel does have a large fence around part of the property. I would definitely stay here again, but be aware of your surroundings and dont leave items in the vehicle that can be seen from outside!
