The staff members at this hotel are fabulous!! They are so friendly and helpful. They make you feel very welcomed. The bed was very comfortable which was a huge plus to me! Nice pool. Breakfast had a lot of options to choose from. I would highly recommend staying at this location!
We have stayed at this IHG property many times. Probably our favorite IHG location - primarily due to the tremendous staff. Very friendly and welcoming - committed to happy customers. Great breakfast - both quality and selection of food, and great service. Keep doing what you are doing. Thank yoyu IHG.
Breakfast area and selection well looked after. Friendly staff. Not really quiet so rest is difficult. Doors slamming. Phones ringing in other areas. Loud people in lobby can be heard. The free internet is so slow its unusable. They might as well not offer it and save guests some frustration.
, so when we got to our room it was not the two queen beds but a king bed with pullout. Was not told about it just a surprise when we got to our room and nothing they could do. Go to pull the bed down no sheets had to call house keeping for that and bedding for the pull out. Very upsetting and left a day early. Ashley did help as much as she could and appreciated her very much .My stay in 2019 was awesome ~ this time not. Made the best of it but really had my family in an uproar. Who likes to sleep on a pull out when on vacation . First vacation in two years and was so looking forward to this stay ….
First and foremost was the unbelievable professional service and friendly demeanor of the front desk by Kim. She also handled 150 deploying troops with the respect and attention they deserved. I have stayed at numerous IHG hotels around the world and must say this was the most impressive experience ever. If you want a model for the face of IHG in customer service and well kept motel this is it. They deserve recognition by corporate as an example of IHG standards and expectations.
Housekeeping was a b%+$#. She showed no hospitality didn’t speak or anything. Came and banged on my door super early the day of checkout. Then her and the front desk lady charged me a fee for smoking in the room when the room was never smoked in all because the window was cracked like people can’t just enjoy fresh air. There was one front desk lady named Ashley she was extremely friendly and helpful but other than her the staff at this location needs training HEAVILY on customer service and not giving a hard time to BLACK people. I’ll never go back
I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids. It was absolutely wonderful! Everyone was so attentive and so helpful. Even just the supportive words as we left the hotel were appreciated!! Everything was great! The room was clean, bed was clean, there’s nothing I would have asked for differently.
My fiancé called me while I was at a board meeting. Stating that front desk harassed her saying she needs to leave now check out was at 11am. Keep in mind I already spoke with the evening shift front desk the day prior STATING I’m changing my stay from staying til Friday to moving it to Thursday. I specifically said we would be leaving after 4pm which was fine. Some lady named Kim from the Akron Ohio branch forced my wife to leave and said if she wanted to stay to give a credit card. While knowing my company was paying for the stay.
From the moment arrive; the services is exceptional; the room is shiny; crisp and clean! the bed and pillows are so comfortable! Breakfast a nice variety and coffee was always fresh! plenty of areas to sit and have quiet time. Close to local stores and restaurants and highway for conveniences too!
Its rare for me to give a 5 star rating but this location went above and beyond in service and all staff i interacted with were friendly and helpful.Clean well lit lobby, room was clean and well maintained, full Hot breakfast and the pool was open for use.No issues found.
I had been through Akron but never stayed in Akron. I wanted to stay so looked at reviews and chose the Holiday Inn Express and it was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. Clean, modern, and friendly. There was nothing about the hotel, the staff, the room, or the location that I would change. Loved it!
We stayed at this property before and it was reliably clean comfortable etc. The only downside was apparently all summer long they have lots of sports teams that stay there and during our stay they had one that won a major victory. Which resulted in a party that lasted late into the night with a lot of yelling and screaming and cheering and slamming of doors up and down the hallway till into the wee hours of the morning. The evening staff tried to get them to calm down, but it was only so much he could do. So while I would recommend this hotel pretty much anytime, in the future I plan to check to see if there any sports teams staying during the time we are there. If they are, I will move on down the road.
Clean room and sheets. Bed was a touch uncomfortable but we understand as we have a brand new mattress at home. Hotel staff was very polite and courteous. Breakfast did leave much to be desired though. Bagels, English muffins and toast would have been a good addition. We will be staying again!
We stayed this past weekend for a baseball tournament in Akron. Kim at the front desk was about as amazing as she could be. She was so upbeat and positive and really appeared that she wanted our stay to be perfect. The hotel was clean and sanitized. Breakfast was as good as it could be for grab and go. Any staff that we interacted with were super friendly. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
Holiday Inn Express is usually my go-to because I love the beds and bedding, but had a hard time sleeping here. I could hear everything my neighbor did, from TV and phone conversation, to 5am shower, blow-dry, and constant throat-clearing. Room also faced the drop-off area and a party bus arrived at midnight...thinking he freeway side might not have been so bad. But the bed was great, room clean, and the shower amenities very nice. Breakfast lady was extremely nice! Thanks, breakfast lady!
Every door in the place literally slams so forget about sleeping well. Our stay was for 3 nights and they put a hold on my credit card for over $900 for a $500 stay. No one could tell me why or reverse the extra $400. They put us in a handicapped room with a modified shower...that didnt bother me but the fact there was terrible water pressure did. It took close to 6 minutes to get shampoo out of my hair. When we asked to be moved, they had no rooms. If you want your room cleaned, they want 24 hour notice! Breakfast was ok...but one of the days they ran out of creamer for coffee and another day water. Toaster was broke. Would I stay again? No.
For a hotel during pandemic, better than expected. Decor was updated and fresh. Nice room darkening blinds. Room appeared clean as can be during these times. Probably would have rated higher during non pandemic to be honest. Staff was nice. Breakfast was grab and go. Decent options all things considered.
This property is clean, at a convenient location to airport, and staff are all friendly. The breakfast was free and dining area very nice in regards to size, views, and comfort. However, the food itself was poor quality and didn’t offer many choices. Food was extremely salty as well. My recommendation is to not put any salt on food, and give salt packets to those who want salt. Also, provide options to those with strict dietary needs (I.e. diabetic, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten free, sodium free, etc).
Pool was closed ostensibly because of COVID but not one staff member was correctly wearing a mask, putting us at much higher risk than the pool would have. Breakfast was also significantly limited and those were the 2 reasons we chose this hotel. Nothing on the website indicated those limitations, just a blanket disclaimer that things may change due to COVID. Room was so noisy we couldn’t sleep between the lawnmower-level loud A/C next to the bed and tons of hallway noise all night. The food they did have for breakfast was so bad that we had to go find a restaurant. Throw pillows would have been more comfortable than the completely flat ones on the bed. Stayed only one night, if it had been more we would have moved to another hotel
I stay with IGH hotels all over the country. This hotel is by far the best of all the IGH brand of hotels Ive stayed. Large rooms, clean rooms and most of all, staff is unbelievably nice! Kim, who works the front desk, is always smiling. Every morning when Im leaving to head out, she is speaking.Im blown away by the service of this hotel.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. We stayed long term and had to clean our own room. We also could not access the pool and that sucked. The neighboring hotel supposedly is a sister hotel but said we could not use theirs because the were long term guests but we didn’t save money for the loss.
The Holiday Inn Express experience has taken a nose dive. As a Spire member for many years I enjoyed Your chain. It used to be TGE place to stay. Your hotels were new, clean and it seemed as though the operators of your chain wanted to be the best in the business. Sadly that is no longer true. Your hotels have become old overnight, they are dirty and the operators now see the guests as a necessary evil. Overall the past three properties that I stayed at were filthy and gross. Now the hotels are sanitized for Covid but the overall look is like a dog has lived in the halls. It kinda reminds me of grandmas house when she got too old to take care of her house (or she didn’t care). You asked my opinion. Be careful what you ask for.
Thank you personally to all the staff for making us and our Locos 14u team feel welcome at the hotel. Your employees were pleasant and accommodating. They gave us a room to socialize on the lower level of the hotel so we could still be together as a team but spaced out as well. The back patio is beautiful and large. You are able to access it from the downstairs room as well. This hotel was under construction during our stay. It was not disruptive to us and nor did it stop us from enjoying our baseball weekend. Our room exceeded my expectations and Ive never slept better in a hotel. Thank you for all that you did for us!
Breakfast provided was more than I expected amid a pandemic, so that was a welcome surprise. Staff was courteous and helpful. Pool was closed, even by appointment. As I was in town for an athletic event, this was more than a little disappointing. Also rooms were set up a little odd, with the TV in the middle of the room and unable to tilt towards either seating area or the bed. So basically side view only.
I select Holiday Inn Express hotels for business travel because the guest service is always amazing. The staff truly care about making sure you have a positive experience and this stay was proof of their commitment to guest satisfaction. With inclement weather, the parking lot was cleared and the front desk staff offered an ice scraper to me in case I did not have one in my rental car. The manager greeted me, the front desk staff asked if there is anything they could do to assist me while in town and let me know of the various attractions in the area. I will definitely stay at this location the next time I am in Akron!
Not happy with paying full price stay and getting limited breakfast items. Also the items like beverages and snacks for sale in the lobby are priced higher than I’ve ever seen them. I paid seven dollars for a soda and a handful sized bag of Doritos. Won’t ever buy them items again. Plus I’ve had to ask for my arrival bonus points my last two stays. Never had to do that before either
I stay In motels all summer every summer. The 2 lady’s at the front desk are both amazing. The guys are good too. No complaints bout them. Just the ladies always go out of there way to make me happy. The motel it’s self is great. Always stay there when I work up in Akron.
Our stay was a great experience with nice clean room. Kim greeted us and always referred to us by name when in the lobby. Ashley was nice upon leaving and was helpful and courteous. Are stay was nice considering the construction. The pool was closed. Breakfast was ok, but not what we are accoustom to, due to the Covid problem. Overall a nice stay and would use this hotel again.
I called and made a reservation, I didnt go through no online service, I called the hotel. I went to dinner and came back, lady ask how I liked the room I told her I was disappointed because of pool, and she came out behind the desk, and 3 times I told her I called hotel n, so I started to turn around my cane fell, she went running behind desk yelling in front of about 10Customers your scarring me, funny on a cane it fell I could barely walking,lol but she was scared, I ask for a manager, she told me she was only one there, then another lady, came about one minute later, all the while lady in back kept screaming from back, and she told me I must have booked online I showed her the picture of the pool, and she said wasnt there pool I took some pics just now SAME POOL I seen so I was lied to, but I think that lady at desk has mental issue, but before I leave today I am going to try to get her name in case someone sees past the one star and living stall, I stay at nothing but at holiday Inn express, wont be back to this one, and probably no other,
The front desk lady and breakfast attendant through the week was amazing. The front desk lady was so friendly and always asked how we were doing and how my father was. She was truly genuine. The breakfast attendant through the week always greeted us with a smile and was always there if you needed anything. These employees are true assets to Holiday Inn Express! The housekeeping service also did a great job in keeping our room clean. We will definitely be returning to this establishment as we will be visiting my dad in November. Kudos to the staff at Holiday Inn Express!!!
The best swim meet hotel ever. They had maps to pool, great breakfast meal, the rooms and bed were comfortable, the hotel was quiet and afternoon naps for swimmers were great. The hotel was accommodating to allow cheer items to be on display for the team. The banquet room was extremely accommodating, rooming and comfortable. This was the first time in three years that parents could eat with their swimmer and have a great time. The parking was great and you did not need to hike to entrance of building. The coffee and cocoa availability at all times was awesome and the breakfast lounge made a great place to relax or do homework during rest time.
I recently booked two rooms for a local family reunion. My wife and I came up from North Carolina and my sister and her husband came in from Ft.Wayne. My biggest shout out goes to Kim at the front desk. She was so enjoyable to deal with and made our stay a delight. Serving warm cookies in the evening, giving us tips on local restaurants and providing warm heartfelt conversation made us feel at home. She is a gem!! Other noteable people that we saw on a daily basis were Stephanie and Darlene. They provided excellent customer service. The entire stay was pleasant and we are always staying at Holiday Inn Express locations.
My first visit to this property. Check in was as expected; fast, room was already assigned, I was upgraded and Spire status acknowledged with welcome amenity offered. This property hasnt gone through the HIE refresh yet so the furnishing and bedding is a bit old/dated. Not really a problem, though the mattress seemed at the end of its useful life and wasnt the type / quality of the mattresses in the new / refreshed HIEs. GREAT value considering the events in town that weekend. Requested and got a late checkout without any arguing or pushback. Great service, nice location of I-77, walking distance to good dining options. Honors IHG Rewards program perks. Can recommend.
Was in town for a wedding and this place hit the spot as far as value for the money. Clean rooms and great staff. My kids loved the indoor heated pool. We’re fans of Freddy’s and there was one about 50 yards from the hotel. Big bonus for us. There’s also a Target shopping mall across the street so a lot of choices for quick shopping and places to eat. Just be careful of traffic. It’s a very busy area.
I have stayed in many places and this one was great. Extremely clean and personnel friendly. Check in was as fast as greased lightening, thank goodness, as I was running late for a wedding. Got there with time to spare. Good location too. Many choices for breakfast for vegetarians and those who dont eat red meat!IGreat place. Hope they maintain
The employees had nothing to do with the issue. I reserved the room by calling from online. I reserved a King Jacuzzi Suite and I asked 3 times if this was the room pictured etc. the agent explained to me it was in detail and the beauty of the room. When I called about early check in the front desk had told me that the agent I called did not book us the jacuzzi room. The hotel is under renovation and they had none available. The room they gave us was still very nice, but not what we were expecting for the week before our visit. When I showed the front desk the pics I was explaining she said they don’t even have rooms like that. So I guess my complaint is if there’s renovations online agents should know, and pictures of rooms that a certain city does not have should not be posted on the site stating that this room is availabile at this location.
After a long trip and multiple delays into Akron we were greated by the best front desk receptionist. She was very empathetic to our situation and she took very good care of us. She helped us find a restaurant and gas station that were open on Christmas Day since had not had much to eat because we were stuck on airplanes and airports for almost 24 hours. The Continental breakfast was good and and excellent variety of food to pick from. Pretty good coffee as well. We will be booking our next room for our next trip to Akron.
Upon walking in, no one was at the front desk. Waited about 10 minutes until the shuttle bus driver came in and saw we were waiting then went to find the front desk clerk. A few hours later I showered and noticed a used wash cloth still on top of the shower. I was in a hurry, but when I called a couple hours later for them to re-clean my room, they said no one was available and all they could do was offer me a new room. Well that couldnt work because we werent planning on being back till late and would have been a pain moving everything from that room to another at that hour.Bed was one of the most uncomfortable and lumpy bed I have ever slept on. no chance ever of getting a good nights rest.Showered the next morning and saw a spider on the floor and a hair in the sink. Absolutely disgusting!!!
The rooms were nice and staff very helpful. There is a huge hot breakfast. Very clean. The only (small) issues were a missing hair dryer in my room and not being able to use the HBO on demand. I would happily pay for a movie just no option. I love staying at this hotel!
The property was under extensive renovation which doesn’t impact this score. I was informed upon checking in that we were “upgraded” which, in this case, meant “downgraded”. The TV didn’t work at all and the mattress had broken springs. Breakfast was bagged food which is understandable in the time of coronavirus. Parking was a shared lot with three different hotels. I don’t know if room service was even available. Just a poor experience overall. I must say Tony, the night concierge, was great.
Traveling to visit relatives after a business meeting, but needing excellent wifi connection to stay in touch with online-class. The internet/wifi connection was strong and reliable. The desk was big enough to accommodate my computer, notes, etc, and the desk lighting was very good. I also appreciated the fridge and microwave, even though I had a standard room, not a suite. I would like to see more standard appliances in hotels of this category. Plenty of chain restaurant choices nearby, and the staff recommended alternatives, knew the area. The hotel is close to the highway, so some traffic noise, but not particularly disturbing. I was impressed by the friendliness of every staff member, from maintenance to the front desk.
Lobby was under construction which was a bit offputting but the rooms were great and the staff even better. Very friendly every time we entered the lobby. Breakfast was a brown paper bag with muffin and breakfast bar and maybe an orange. Miss the buffet breakfast but I get why its not an option right now. The included breakfast is one of the main reasons for staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Im less likely to stay at a HIE without the included buffet unless the prices come down to match the lesser service.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! I stayed there this past weekend during the hall of fame. I did not want to miss any of the festivities at the hall of fame, so I called ahead of time to request a late check-in. I believe the gentlemans name was Tim, he was so pleasant and welcoming and assured me that my room would be ready when we arrived. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everyone was AWESOME! Even the breakfast display was outstanding!
This is our second stay here at this establishment and we will keep returning due the friendly smiling and welcoming face of Kim at the front desk. She is absolutely wonderful and she remembers her guests. She asked us daily and nightly how my father was doing. He lives in Ohio and is having some health issues but she went out of her way to see how he is coming along. You dont get that at other hotels. We are definitely making this establishment our hotel when we come to visit my father. Thank you Kim for everything and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
We were able to find the hotel easily. Right off of the interstate. Signs pointed us right to it. The front desk was staffed and friendly even though we arrived later than normal check-in. We were greeted very well and instructed to our room with ease. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was well maintained and very clean too. The bed was a tad firm for my liking but the pillows were wonderful. Only downfall is we could hear the interstate quite a bit from our room even with the blinds drawn. Im from a rural community so maybe Im just a bit used to a more quiet sleep. Overall our stay was perfect!
Staff was extremely friendly. Due to COVID, breakfast options are poor but this is NOT the fault of the establishment. they have dealt with the issue best they can for the moment. Currently, the establishment was under construction but they made they made the best of the situation. We would stay here again even with the construction. Staff members made up for that and more.
I absolutely love this hotel. I stayed at this hotel for 5+ weeks over the summer and it was a wonderful experience. I dreaded having to live out of a hotel, but this hotel made it enjoyable! The staff was always incredibly respectful and helpful. They made the hotel feel like more of a home than a hotel. My room was always clean and the hotel rooms were up to date. The maids even left nice notes after they finished cleaning my room! This hotel has the best customer service that I have experienced by far. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Akron.
We booked a smoking room. We arrive and check in and find we have a non smoking room with a king size bed. I went back to front desk and asked to see the bill. They charged us for the king size. Their reasoning was since we wanted the smoking room, they put us on the ground floor for ease to leave the building and the king was the only one left. Not our problem. They chose not to follow protocol—the original guests decided to extend their stay, which meant they should have been the ones to relocate—and then tried to charge us for the price of a room we didn’t want.
The best part about my stay at the holiday inn xpress, would have to be the woman at the front desk named Kim. Wonderful spirit and energy, she said s very inviting during this pandemic. She was very helpful and resourceful for any of my needs. Good be that woman a raise!
Words cant describe the level of service received from the entire staff at this hotel. From the time I reached out to the team (Lynsey & John) until everyone checked out, everything was fantastic. Lynsey and John were able to accommodate our two soccer teams (about 33 rooms). All the staff were pleasant and extremely helpful and courteous from check-in through checkout. Typically the challenge area with such a large group is breakfast, but that went smoothly. We were able to coordinate the time the teams would be down, and the staff had hot food ready. The rooms were some of the best I have stayed in and heard the same from other parents also. We definitely recommend this hotel whether you are traveling alone, with family or a large group. I will definitely be reaching out in the future when in the area. Lynsey and team, Thank You!!!
I have been staying at this location a lot for business. So much so that the staff is starting to get a feel for what I like and recognize my face when I come to check in late as usual.I really enjoy how clean the facility is kept and how friendly the staff is no matter how long my stay is. Everyone is great from check in, to the house keeping staff. Always very courteous and asking if I need anything around the clock. Im a night owl and even the 2-3 A.M. walks to the front desk for a snack is enjoyable. I really appreciate the care that goes into everything there. I look forward to coming back!
I have stayed at this Hotel too many times to count over the last 16 years. The same problem exists all that time which is the pillows on the beds are horrible.The beds are otherwise comfortable, the rooms are always clean, and they have always had a very good breakfast bar. My most recent stay resulted in a minor problem with the room of which was corrected immediately by upgrading me to a suite at the same rate. I have no complaints other than they need to get firmer pillows for their beds. I will come back because this location is now being remodeled. This is also good.
We booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express to prep and shuttle guests to the wedding/reception of our daughter. The experience was fabulous. The hotel staff was exceptional, the rooms were clean and spacious. We had 10 young women getting ready with hair and makeup, everything turned out so well.The great room was a nice venue for after the reception, as we were able to continue our celebration with out of town guests.Highly recommend. Very friendly and helpful!
I stayed 2 nights for a business trip and I had a great experience. My room and bathroom were very clean, as well as all the furniture in my room. My room included a mini fridge and a microwave.I like staying at Holiday Inn because their little complimentary bathroom supplies are from Bath Body Works and are a better quality than other hotels I have stayed at.My favorite part about this hotel is the breakfast buffet. It is always fully stocked with a lot of great choices. Their coffee is really good and the cinnamon rolls are amazing.My only gripe is that the parking lot is pretty small. I moved my car for a late night bite at about 8pm and I was gone less than 10 minutes, when I got back my spot was gone and the lot was completely full. I had to park nearby at another hotel. Other than that, I had no issues.I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. It is a great value and great quality.
The location was easy on and off the freeway so it made it great to get around in the area.The staff were exceptional. They were open to solving every query and extremely helpful. Not only helpful but responsive; no waiting around for help.We had a small meeting 50 people and we had no complaints from anyone. Great value for the participants.
I was in Akron for a family wedding reception on a cold weekend (for this Florida girl) and was greeted warmly with an upgrade to my room choice. The hotel lobby and breakfast area were clean and attractive, and my room was comfortable. Best of all, the room wasnt too cold when I checked in, and I was able to adjust the heat to keep the room comfortable. Also, there were several restaurants close by for lunch and dinner. Id certainly stay again when in the area.
Choose hotel for Hall of Fame enshrinement. Read reviews about highway noise being a issue. Didn’t have a issue or even notice and my room was facing it. Breakfast was on time and good. Only issue was the pancake maker would jam but got pass that. Was close to stores and places to eat with a Walmart up the road. Pretty much a good stay.
I had driven in from Buffalo, NY for a concert at the Akron Civic Theatre, so it was my first Akron experience. After our long drive, my girlfriend and I were greeted immediately by Rick ( Fusco? I believe). And I cannot say enough about how attentive Rick was to our every need. Perfect restaurant recommendations, preferred modes of transportation, and everything in between. As an IHG member, I can always count on quality room accommodations, but the level of service I received during my one night stay was exceptional! Please thank Rick for me for his service and thank you for the most pleasing stay in Akron.
I am a long time IHG / Holiday Inn Customer. This is THE best HI Express I have ever stayed in. Brand new - great location, within 1/2 mile of I-77. Room was extremely nice, staff was superb. Breakfast and breakfast room area were spectacular. Not just continental, but full breakfast with many options. I would highly recommend this hotel. You will be pleased.
Every 6 months a group of la dies come to this hotel for a 4 day quilters retreat. We have been coming for several years which tells you that we like this place! This staff is friendly and welcoming. We have a block of rooms at a good price, the breakfast is always good and no one should leave hungry as there is a nice variety of things to eat. We have a large room to have our sewing machines with good space for all the things we bring with us. There is a common dining area where we can hold our end of retreat dinner and meeting to plan the next retreat. This hotel is also a good distance for those who come from Cleveland, canton-Akron areas and other cities. We haven’t found any other hotel that can meet our needs
We were greeted by the sweetest team member at the front desk! She was super helpful in giving us ideas of places to go for specific shopping in the area. When we got to our room and the key did not work, a very nice housekeeper stopped to see if she could help us. When she couldn’t, she walked us all the way back down to the front desk and waited with us until we could talk to the lady again about how we could not get in. We had the best experience and will definitely be back!!
For a very busy weekend they seemed to be having and we were just passing through they had very few rooms left. Staff was super accommodating and kind. Very clean. Tons of options for breakfast....some of the items didnt taste the best but still found something to satisfy. Overall would definitely recommend.
Great location to food and shopping. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable, but sofa bed was less than desirable. Air condition was either too warm or too cold. Breakfast was average, but air conditioning was not working for 3 days in dining area. Front desk staff were amazing. So nice to have happy greeters after a long and tiring drive.
I booked two rooms 3 months prior to our stay, in a block of rooms reserved for a wedding party. When I made the reservation, the agent was helpful and friendly. She booked me 2 adjoining non-smoking rooms, each with 2 queen beds. The morning we were to check in (the day of the wedding), I got a call from the hotel asking if we would move to a different hotel, since they were overbooked. They said all they could offer me at their hotel was 1 2-queen room, the other would have to be a king smoking room. They said we would get $10 off. I told them that without consulting the other family involved, I wouldnt be able to make this change, and told them that I had made the reservation 3 months ago. They told me it was ok, and they would accommodate us. We arrived around 2pm (we were told we could have an early check-in) and were told they did not have any adjoining rooms, not did they have the 2 2-queen bed rooms that we reserved. Since one family was 2 people, I agreed to take 1 room with a king sized bed. I was told that this would be on the third floor, which is the smoking floor (I didnt realize there were any hotels left that allow smoking!). I told them that this was not ok for us, as we have smoke sensitivities. They agreed to put us on the first floor, but still in a 1-king room, no adjoining rooms. These rooms were booked 3 months ago, and we required adjoining rooms because of kids sleeping arrangements. We made do with what we had, but this was not good treatment; they didnt keep their end of the reservation. I asked for a discount and was told no, but given a few extra points, which Ill never use anyway since I am not intending to stay in IHG hotels after this.
Kim at the front desk went out of her way to get us the best possible rate since my granddaughter was having open heart surgery at Akron Childrens Hospital. She was so nice and concerned about my granddaughter. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. The free breakfast was great with lots of nice choices and much appreciated.
I am an IHG member and stay at Holiday Inn Express whenever possible when I travel so I have stayed at several of them throughout the country. I had an exceptionally good experience with this particular hotel and I would highly and strongly recommend it to anyone that is staying in the Akron area. Highly recommend it. The staff was outstanding top to bottom, the usually drab saw it yesterday, see it again tomorrow breakfast buffet had different and fresh selections for each of the 3 mornings we were there, and the room was impeccable (Get Room 323 if you can - awesome suite).If you need anything extra in the room, prior to your stay, contact Lynsey, she goes above and beyond! I give this hotel and stay five stars ONLY because ten wasnt an option. Enjoy!
We were in town to attend my Brother-In-Laws funeral. The check in was fine! The room was nice and had plenty of room! Bathroom needs some work on cleaning! Dirty places around tub! The breakfast was disappointing to say the least! We waited for 20 minuted for food to be refilled. Then the lady put out eight biscuit and eight sausage patties at a time. There we at least 25 people waiting for food! I understand not wanting to waste food. I also know that people waiting that long for food is not good! We will be returning this next weekend to finish wrapping up his business affairs. I hope things go better this visit. I cost my several of my reward point and money too. I hope this visit will be better!
Enjoyed a relaxing stay!! Friendly courteous staff and a lovely hotel. Had a great sleep on the comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast was hot and offered good variety. Breakfast staff was friendly and attentive to the needs of the customers. Overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.
When you arrive to the Akron Airport Area Holiday Inn, you will be greeted by friendly, personable staff that will try to make you feel at home. Let them know if you have any questions or concerns, they will do everything in their power to make accommodations to insure the most positive stay possible. I made some errors on my reservation online and they directed me to the correct people to make corrections. The staff was willing to help and never made you feel like you were a bother. This was the best experience Ive had at any Holiday Inn. I recommend this location to anyone headed in the area, even with all the options in the area I return here whenever I get the chance. The fresh coffee and good mornings to start the day and even the fresh warm cookies in the evening, plus all the warm greeting from staff in between most this hotel feel more like a home away from home.
This hotel literally saved me from severe allergies while traveling. This was not where we made our original reservations. We contacted them while leaving our originally booked hotel and they were super helpful. So glad we found them.The gentleman at the desk allowed us to view the room before booking it and took care of our check-in quickly, he could tell we were tired.The room was great! We had a small living area, which worked out for lounging about in the room. Their staff was super friendly and helpful; from the front desk to housekeeping. Wed definitely stay here again.
I am very happy with the Holiday in I stay at in Akron south in Greene OH. I have stayed there over 300 times in the past 10 years. The staff has been consistently friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is good. There is a well equipped workout room. The only negative about this hotel is that they do not gIve rewards points for corporate lodging stays. Overall this hotel is a ten.
While car parking looked ample, there was not a good place to park with a trailer. As far as negatives go, that is it. We had a great stay, mainly due to the staff. The house keeping employee went out of their way to notice things we were using more of. Her name was Sabrina. She left a very nice note for us to see if we need anything else. Paul at the front desk was very knowledgeable and handled our requests very professionally. Ive done some traveling over the years and I was impressed with the staff that obviously knew how the hotel was to be run and did it well. Thanks for a great stay and Ill look forward to staying here next year.
I feel as though the evening clerk Jeanie profiled my daughter and I. She asked irrelevant questions and the security guard even followed my daughter off the elevator in an effort to find out which room we were in. Jeanie called my room and told me they had a NO GLITTER POLICY although I had no glitter and she saw me with no glitter. She even told me there was a maximum of 4 people in a room due to covid. However I had 2 suites that bed more than 4 people. I also couldnt find that information on the website.
The hotel staff was friendly. We arrived later in the evening and were able to quickly check in and get onto the room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. I had pancakes and there were also eggs, veggie omelets, and sausage. Checkout was at 11, so still time to sleep in a little and pack up on the morning before departing. House keepimg did knock on the door at 930, so dont forget to put your busy sign on the door before you go to sleep! Overall good expience.
My husband and I stayed here for part of his birthday gift. Upon arrival, Kim greeted us at the front desk and upgraded our Room for my husbands birthday. The Room was stocked with toiletries from bath and body works, which Pleasantly surprised me. We didnt use the pool gym or any of the other amenities because we had had a busy day. The following morning, we did partake in the breakfast buffet. I was surprised by the amount of options and how tasty everything was.If Im ever back in the area, I definitely will stay with them again.
For the price paid, the room we got was excellent.We stayed in a King Executive Suite for two nights, and were pleased with every aspect.The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Our room had two tvs, a living area, and kitchen.Everything met our expectations and more.The continental breakfast was one of the best Ive had in a hotel.The front desk staff were very attentive and helpful when our group was looking to go to a local bar.They told us good places to go, and gave us the number for a great cab service.I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.
Very impressed with this location. Every staff member we saw kindly greeted us and made us feel very welcomed. Checking in was fast and efficient. Our room was very clean, excellent mattresses, (as usual), just a perfect visit. Breakfast the next day was delicious and the attendent was friendly as she was busy checking every detail of the food and drinks. 5 stars are not enough...more like 10!
I always try to stay in holiday inns across the country and been for quite a few years I cant really remember any bad experiences where I had to chose a different chain hotel to stay at . I always stayed loyal and when ever the holiday inns were available I booked it all across the United States
We had an enjoyable stay at this property. The parking spaces were convenient, we were given a first-floor room, for which we were grateful. The highlight of our two-night stay was the complimentary breakfast, which included eggs, omelet, yogurts, fresh pastries and breads, juice, and very flavorful decaf coffee!Checking out was very easy, although since all we had to do was drop off the room keys, it would have been helpful to simply put them in a box or slot -- instead of having to wait unnecessarily at the front desk.Our room was NOT freshened at all. We did ask not to be disturbed in the late morning hours, that is true. Bu7t no one came along lat5er and tidied up. That was disappointing.Overall, a good expierence.
Walked into hotel and immediately greeted with a smile. The lobby area was very clean and neat. Our room was clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The breakfast selection was wonderful. Lisa and Mike always said good morning to us when we entered the breakfast room. They must have spend hours preparing the food. The place was immaculate. We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Will be heading back that way in about a year. The location is perfect. We like that the expressway is so close by and there are quite a few restaurants to dine in.

2022-02-17Staff was great upon entrance and exit, very accommodating. The room was extremely clean, new & updated. The temperature in the room was easy to control and worked great. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and soft. The breakfast was wonderful. Nice looking pool, though I didn’t go in.Some things that weren’t ideal but didn’t affect how many stars I felt I should give due to overall experience:The fitness center is a tiny box of a room with little equipment.The guests were all assigned rooms very close to each other so you could hear guest talking, doors closing, and alarms/wake up calls going off early in the morning through the walls.Overall my stay was very comfortable.

2022-05-18Positive: I liked the fact they had frozen food items and waters/drinks at the front if you needed something late night. They had a hot breakfast every morning, coffee and hot water available all day and night. The hotel is right by the expressway. Negative: The pool was shut down for maintenance after our first night.

2021-11-15Cons - toilet wasnt clean.- Hotel is old and has a funky layout, rooms have been renovated at some point in the past, but re-furbished on the cheap.Pros - excellent staff and customer service. The nice lady on duty allowed us to check in early, which allowed us to get to a wedding on time and refreshed. This made all the difference.- Nice fluffy towels, clean shower, plenty of hot water.- breakfast nook clean, bright and airy.- good hot breakfast, including those Holiday Inn cinnamon rolls. Yum!Overall a good experience.

2021-11-11Our stay was great ,when we checked in Tony was very friendly and helpful.The room we got wasn’t the one I wanted so he got us another one which was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The Breakfast was good except for the scrambled eggs which were very salty,both days we were there. The food shouldn’t be salted,the customer should add it if they want to. The room was nice but the mattress was a little lumpy. All in all we will stay there again and would recommend this hotel.
