The room was comfortable and quiet. Things started when we awoke the next morning. The shower did not drain well. I hate standing in water while taking a shower. The stopper didnt work in the sink so shaving was difficult. I dont know why this was called a handicapped room. You had to step into a tub. If I was in a wheel chair I wouldnt be able to get in the tub. The coffee pot didnt work. It would start and then stop. For what we paid for this room I expect things to be top shelf. When I told the clerk at the desk all she said was sorry.
Great stay here! We stayed here for two nights and were very pleased. Everything is clean and well maintained. The bed is comfy. The pillows are long and squishy, and not too puffed up so they won’t hurt your neck sleeping on them. The water pressure is amazing! Feels like a massage in the shower. The pool wasn’t open yet, so we didn’t get to check that out. The staff was kind and friendly. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the room, but we were pleased with what we got for the price we paid! Housekeeping is on top of things and it’s apparent. Not sure why people are upset over a wall AC unit. I find the noise of it to be relaxing. Keeps the rooms nicely cool, especially since we stayed beginning of June, so talk about humid heat outside! They also have adjoining rooms if you need that. We were on our own tour of Kirkland historical sites for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and this hotel is 5 minutes from the main sites. Absolutely perfect location.
Positive: The bed was so comfy and room was clean as I would expect. Negative: Had to reserve a handicap accessible room, and everything was good, Until I had to shower. By the time I got done and out, the shower had almost flooded the bathroom. Even a slight slope to the floor might have remedied this issue.
The hotel is easily accessible from the highway. Personable and friendly staff at sign-in. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Very comfortable mattress and pillows. A note on the desk indicated that the room would only be attended to every five days, unless we requested otherwise. We did request clean towels from the attendant in the hallway each day, but just made our own beds. Breakfast was virtually non-existent: coffee from the lobby, some yogurt and small juices in a small refrigerator, and some “hot breakfast sandwiches” consisting of an egg pattie with a couple of slices of bacon on a warm biscuit. It was disappointing compared to breakfast buffets we’ve had at Holiday Inns on the past. It’s the new “normal,” I guess. There is a Bob Evan’s
Its older, and attention to repairs is needed. The air conditioner in our room gave out great cool air, but in the bedroom it leaked all over the carpet. Had to turn it off; thereby, had a some trouble sleeping. The bed was nice and comfortable. It would have been excellent nights sleep if the air conditioner was working correctly. No breakfast was served, just bags to go, which do not fit in with our diets.
When booking the hotel we asked if there was a hot breakfast and we told yes. Then there wasn’t and they food was awful. Also we asked if the pool was open and was again told yes and it wasn’t. When the pool was brought up the staff was absolutely rude. Saying we would’ve never told you that so you didn’t call here. Asked for more towels and was told didn’t we just give you some. We were sitting in the lobby preparing for fireworks off site and the lady at the front was like you know you can’t do those here, you just go out back. She stated multiple times after we told her we were not doing Sparklers there. Worst experience ever at a hotel in my life. We travel a lot for baseball and work and will now choose not to stay at another hotel with his company. I have tried to call guest relations for 4 days and have been ok hold for 5 hours, not including putting in for a call back and have yet to receive one.
Needed a night alone. Overall this was a nice getaway. Unfortunately the people in the room next to me were extremely loud and my refrigerator was set too low to keep anything cold. Also, the “breakfast” was just a hard breakfast sandwich with nothing else offered... very disappointing. The stay was pretty much relaxing and would stay there again but would really like to see a better breakfast situation.
Nice hotel clean could use some updates showers are designed for people under 4 feet tall not happy about the pool being closed breakfast hours are 6:00 to 8:00 pretty short hours. Im sure most of this falls under the covid-19 umbrella. Americans need to grow some nuts and get back life.
Positive: Very nice hotel, it was clean and the staff was very friendly. They gave us good recommendations when we asked about casinos in the Cleveland area. Negative: Would have liked to know the pool was closed before I booked, I picked this hotel because for the pool. If I didnt care if there was a pool or not I would have done a mystery deal.
Locate is very good for this hotel, but the facility is really out of date. Bath tub is clogging. Sound isolation is very poor and things happened in neighbour room can be heard. None USB port in the room. Removation is really required not just new painting to hide and cover. The price quality of this hotel is really poor comparing to same Holiday Inn hotels in Perrysburg and West Lafayette during our school road trip. Not recommended.
The hotel was in a great location and close to lots of food options. Everything was clean and the 4th floor room we had was quiet. It was just a short drive into Cleveland to see the Indians game before heading off to Niagara Falls the next day. Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel has gone downhill from a standpoint of used to be a fun place to eat and drink. The beautiful Side Bar is closed all the time, and the new menu and Mediterranean cuisine food SUCKS. Bring back a decent American or even Italian food menu, as what they have now is COMPLETE GARBAGE. Someone needs to do something with the Food and Beverage Operations at this once nice Mentor location.
Location is great like the staff. Sheets are awesome like the bath soaps. Felt safe and clean. Did not care for the breakfast sandwiches but it was available and hot. Instant coffee machine worked well and tasted ok. Keep wonder if I will ever win the 25000 bonus points like the 100th time i have done this survey
Our power was out for the night, so we searched for a decent local hotel with a indoor pool that we could visit & make a night of it. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk told us the pool was closed. Their sign said “pool closed for beautification”. My 4yr old was mad.. beyond angry, as was I because I promised her a pool & of course.. there’s a no refund policy on that nightly stay that I already paid for in advance. We went back to the room & she wanted snacks.. so we made our way back up front. Added the snacks to our room charge, no big deal. Noticed that the pool sign was adjusted to only read “pool closed”. They cut off the bottom half of the sign. Laughable.. but moved passed it. When I received a email from hotels.com asking how check in went, I said nuetral. Because of the pool situation. It would’ve been nice to know before hand.. I could’ve found another hotel with a indoor pool to stay at otherwise. It removed most of the main aesthetic for us. Management responded back to my mini review early this morning before check out & said - “Thank you for your feedback. Our pool and restaurant are listed as closed at the top of out website (IHG.com). They are also listed as closed on Expedias website. Unfortunately we cannot control where they display this, and Expedia chooses to display closures lower down on the page while still listing them as available amenities at the top. I am sorry for the confusion caused by their website and hope that you still had an enjoyable stay.” Thats great & all but the real problem with this is, I didn’t use Expedia or their main site for booking. I used hotels.com - the same company they responded to my message through. I cannot add the screenshots but no where on the hotel page does it say the pool is closed. I looked.. multiple times. I found where it says a pool is present tho - in two different spots. I shouldn’t have to shop around on multiple sites to search for this information when it’s already present on the site I originally planned on utilizing.. seems ridiculous to me. Let’s just be honest, I was looking at several other competitor hotels at the same time. I couldn’t possibly cross reference this information with other sites in the process of finding a room for the same night with the amenities we wanted. Anyways, fast forward to time to check out. Housekeeping knocked on our door twice prior to 11am. I’m not checking out till 11am.. why keep coming back? I hate being rushed. I wasn’t late leaving the room.. we literally felt pushed out. We went to the front desk to check out & no one was there. At this point, I was tired of waiting. Housekeeping nearly kicked us out and no one is upfront at actual check out time? OKAY. This was so overly irritating to me after I already moved passed the pool situation. Completely ridiculous.
Booked a block of rooms for my wedding & also booked a room for my husband and I for our wedding night. Showed up post wedding to check in to our room and was told we had no room and was told there was no room available. When I told them I spoke & booked through osman, I was told he doesn’t work there anymore. Upset I had to find a ride on my wedding night to go home after paying for a bus to take us to and from the hotel.
I had the worst stay at this establishment they never told me in advance that their swimming pool was broken so nothing to do except sit for 450.00 dollars for 2 night stay also there was a dirty bandaid in the corner of the room that had dust on it for a while but what was really disappointing was the breakfast some cold egg muffins and rubbery hash browns and that was it for warm food oh and the kicker they were asking for tips. I will never stay at this place again and I will make sure to let others know about my stay.
From the minute we entered the hotel lobby, we were greeted with a smile and friendly, helpful staff. This was by far one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. The staff were friendly and accommodating to multiple families that we stayed with to attend a hockey tournament in the area. Many hotels frown on having youth sport teams stay at their establishment. The staff here were friendly and kind to the kids as well as the adults. The pool area was extremely clean and the management opened up a conference room for the families when they had one available so we had a place to congregate as a group. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. It was evident that the employees took pride in their job and that management treated employees respectfully. Overall, a wonderful experience.
We normally stay at this hotel every time we visit Cleveland. the past stays have been awesome but this particular stay has been different always request room on first floor due to my wife back issue when making reservation and was told that was no problem, but somehow when we get there there is no room available on the first floor and had to go to the third floor.
The room is clean, and air quality is good, very comfortable. Unfortunately, I was able to hear loud music coming through the room. Other than the music, the space was otherwise quiet. Hopefully that was just an unusually inconsiderate guest, rather than there being an issue with sound transmission. Staff was friendly. Theres a Mediterranean restaurant onsite and I was given a discount card upon check in.
Upon checking in someone had placed a call to front desk complaining of a smoke smell, the clerk stated he didnt have any other rooms to change them to, so he would be up to spray an anti smoke spray, he stated that someone must be smoking by the doors. When we got up to our room it smelled like it had been sprayed with a whole bottle of air freshener, Extremely overwhelming. We left for dinner came back still over powering, left the door open until time to crawl in bed only to find blood on comforter and the bottom black. Knowing we had gotten the last room and our car had broke down, we did not complain as we were happy to just have found a place to stay and we werent stranded.. Now I have a $250 charge on my account for smoking in the room, which I would never do! The general manager Tim refuses to take the charge off, refuses to even ask his employees about the incident. Stating the room smelled of smoke and there was evedence of smoking, according to his notes. After having my car breakdown, this is the absolute last charge I needed and to have such a rude manager is unacceptable. The manager himself was outside smoking several times as I walked back and forth from the car shop he himself smelled of smoke. This is just absolutely unbelievable!
We just were staying for the night and I wanted to make sure I chose a nice hotel, I’ve never stayed at Holiday Inn before and was greatly surprised by all the safety measures they took to ensure a safe environment during this pandemic! The hotel room was very clean and everything smelled new! Also one the most comfortable beds I’ve ever laid in!
Overall stay was good. Hotel night staff was very accommodating and friendly. He made our stay better than average. The only negative for us was that my group stayed in the area to prepare for a wedding so we were celebrating however, the bar / restaurant in the hotel was closed due to it being the fourth of July holiday. We would have enjoyed being able to use the bar as part of our celebration. Rooms were nice. Entire group mentioned that beds were comfortable.
Great stay. Friendly staff. Nice and clean building. Hallway carpet clean and fluffy. Didnt like the breakfast time frame it was way too early 6am to 8 am on a weekend is far fetched and unrealistic for me and I hated having to wait and pay for breakfast at a restaurant. The beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms clean but heard the neighbors everyone they used the bathroom and flushed the toilet. Other than those couple of things things were great
This hotel has friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and kept well supplied with clean, fresh towels and supplies. The bed had a new, pillow-top mattress and was comfortable. There were plenty of pillows and there were both firm ones and soft ones. It would have been very nice if the hotel would had provided free breakfast.
Front desk staff was friendly and our room was comfortable. We left our do not disturb sign on our door until about 11am, and our room was never cleaned, so we ran out of towels, but the front desk ensured we had plenty. A fixture in the bathroom was so loose that it came out of the wall when we hung out toiletries bag on it. The restaurant was only open for dinner (which was delicious) and the bar didnt stay open past 10 (even on the weekend). Breakfast was a standard, continental breakfast. The bed and pillows were SUPER comfortable and the staff was friendly (Mariah was wonderful)! Overall, wed stay again!
I never stayed at a Holiday Inn that was this nice, The entire hotel was spotless, the staff was extremely friendly, and Marions restaurant was excellent. Everyone there made me feel like a valued guest. The bed was very comfortable with 4 huge pillows. The pillows were even labelled soft and firm and I wish I had pillows like this at home. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
It must be said, before anything else, that the front desk staff was exceptionally polite and attentive. There were the saving grace for this review. The room, however, was not nearly as satisfying. It felt a little run down, ill-maintained and it just wasnt as clean as I feel it should have been.We even spotted a visitor walking across our wall. That made for a very uncomfortable stay.
In town for one night for business. At the time of booking, I was a little skeptical of staying here based on the rating. However, I was very pleases with my stay.First off, love the proximity of the hotel to a major throughfare coming out of Cleveland. Plus, there is an abundance of food choices near the hotel.Reading the some of previous reviews, it appears the hotel did a recent remodel. Well done. The hotel is clean throughout and the decor is great pleasant. Really appreciated the remodeled fitness center. Had a good selection of equipment to get a good workout in.Rooms were clean, large and very comfortable. Yes, i could hear the shower running of my next door neighbor, but that was it. Which made for a good nights sleep. I have stayed at other hotels before where I can hear what movie they are watching.Staff is very friendly and professional. There is a charge for breakfast ($7), but when I went to pay for it at the front desk, the lady behind the counter was like on the house because they were having issues with the credit card system.Highly recommend this place for business travelers or anyone passing through the area.
Wow, where do I start... Came to the hotel as part of a film festival and the hotel was so gracious and made every effort to ensure a tremendous stay. Somehow my room was switched so they made sure I had the King bed I wanted and even offered a late check-out. Staff would pass in the hall and greet you. The restaurant and bar were friendly and really made an effort to see that every need was met. THANK YOU for the buffet breakfast, what a winner that was! The conference area was comfortable and had plenty of space to gather. The rooms are wonderful. The beds and pillows are some of the best Ive slept on. I am thrilled the event will be held there again next year. Please consider opening the bar on Sunday, we wouldve stayed and celebrated our awards. Thanks again, you really made us feel special!
This was my first stay at this Holiday Inn. The beds are so comfortable, my room was neat, quiet, and I had no issues at all. The staff made me feel very welcomed. Across the parking lot was a very cool restaurant with open-air seating to go eat at because due to COVID - the hotel restaurant was closed for dinner but was open for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay and I will certainly go back.
When I checked into my room, I checked the room and it looked okay. When I was getting ready for bed, I pulled the sheets back and there were a few strands of someones hair on them. There were also little dark spots on the sheets and at least two of the pillow cases. I have had the same problem with hair on the sheets at this location before and since I was driving, I brought an extra set of sheets from home. I brought this to the attention of the person at the front desk and he offered to let me change rooms. If the sheets in one room are not cleaned properly, then most likely you have many rooms with the same issue. While changing the sheets I also noticed that the area under the headboard was disgusting. It was covered with peoples hair, dust, dirt and Im not sure what else but it had definitely not been cleaned in months. The next morning when I was getting ready to shower, I pulled back the curtain and found more hair on the walls of the shower. Dark hair on a white shower wall should be easy for housekeeping or anyone that checked the room to find.I understand that sometimes with people checking in and out of hotel rooms that some things may get missed or overlooked once in a while, but with the decreased activity because of restricted travel and fewer guests, maybe you should use this time to properly clean the entire hotel.
Hotel was clean and quiet in a decent area of town. The layout is weird, which makes taking the stairs more convenient than using the elevator when you dont have luggage. Room was well kept. Only extremely minor issue was the tub drain was clogged which made tub draining slow. Pool area was clean and well kept. Rate hotel and room 9/10.
Comfortable hotel with what looks like very nice amenities. Did not use them because of the virus. Only issue was my room not being serviced one of the days I stayed. After a 10 hour workday it would’ve been nice to come back to a clean room. However, when the room was serviced everything was spotless and well maintained.
We found this room after calling for a reservation at a different Holiday Inn that was fully booked. The operator was more than helpful in finding us a different location. We checked in late, which may explain the indifference of the front desk staff. We were tired too!! The room was fine. Very comfortable beds. Somewhat dated decor. Probably will never find ourselves in this location again, but you never know. Overall experience was fine, but nothing special.
Beds are comfortable but a climb to get into. Hotel was nice and clean. My room was down the hallway and around a corner (only 1 room beyond mine) and was very quiet but others in my party said they were kept up or awoken by noisy neighbors or hallway noise. Breakfast was really good.
Way to ruin my sisters wedding night!! She had a reservation along with her block of rooms. Her and her new husband went to check in and were told they over booked and didnt have a room. I mean come on thats the bride and groom how awful can you get!? So disappointing
I enjoyed most everything at this hotel. The toilet in the room I had was not secured tight to the floor and you could see several spots on the ceiling that had been patched, but could have been done better. Also the elevator is super slow. There is no ice available either. But other than that my stay there was nice. I will stay there again.
My sister and I stayed here for a total of 10 nights in May and our stay was wonderful! All of the staff is excellent! Especially Mike at the front desk he is very polite, always helpful, and one of his co-workers spoke very highly of him.The breakfast buffet is amazing and I was able to get a gluten free and dairy free breakfast. The hotel as a whole is very nicely decorated and Marions is very classy yet relaxed. The pool, laundry room, and gym are also amazing!I highly recommend this hotel and I thoroughly plan on staying here in the future!
I stayed here Aug 9-11th for the Indie Gathering Film festival. Great hotel. Room was clean and staff was polite. Strong WiFi signal. The rooms are stocked with enough towels so you can choose to completely opt out of house keeping and sleep in late. Theres a nice breakfast buffet too!
Talked to the front desk staff 3 different times on the phone prior to checking in and they assured me that everything was taken care of. It was NOT! Then they threatened to not rent me a room when I expressed my unhappiness. At NO time did I use vulgar language or insult anyone. Micheal and Turquoise should NOT be dealing with the public.
I called before checking in to ask if a room was available that wasn’t around a bunch of other guests. I let the front desk know that I have a 3yr old and did not want her to disturb other guest close by. I spoke with Cleme and he immediately responded in a (condescending tone) “ma’am our rooms are $84”.I did not ask about a price and I only informed them of my 3 yr old because I wanted to be courteous of others around us sleeping. If I was concerned about money then I could have stayed at the run down motel a parking lot over. Once inside, we were greeted by Cleme and he remained cold and had poor bedside manners. The hotel was clean though and the housekeepers were friendly!
We stayed for one night. This hotel is dirty, walls are paper thin, and there are a lot of hillbilly’s that either stay here long term or live here. Between not having hand soap in the bathroom during a pandemic and the fact that we could hear every word of the loud conversations and music in the room next to us all night... I would never recommend this hotel. Just as trashy as staying at one of the motes next door.
We really like to stay at this hotel when we come to the area. The rooms are clean and you have the type of room that we need (2 double beds). The kids love the pool and the breakfast is decent. We also like the price. I dont remember this being an issue before when we had stayed previously but this time the bed was really hard. My husband and I did not sleep well. I am hoping it was just a fluke because I havent had a problem like that before. We love the pillows and the room was clean and orderly. The front desk also called to make sure everything was good shortly after we got into the room. We did request extra towels and they were delivered promptly.
Beds were hard. The air conditioning unit was noisy when it kicked on. The workout room water dispenser was broken and the elliptical was hard to use. The shower bathtub didnt drain and was above ankles by the end of the shower. But everything was clean and staff was friendly.
I was only in town for one night but the room was very nice. Having a separate bedroom area was a first for me but I really enjoyed it. My floor was very quiet and the bed was comfortable which made for a good night’s sleep. I had no issue with my room during the stay and there were plenty of restaurants close by so I could bring food back to the room and continue to work. The internet connect was also consistent and strong.
Big fan of the staff. They took great care of me during my 3 week stay. The front desk folks were all absolutely lovely! The cleaning crew was respectful, thorough, and friendly, and Mark and Liz and the rest of the breakfast crew made me feel right at home. Loved my stay!
The shower drain was full of hair. When I took a shower, the water pooled up to my ankles. Called the desk twice, and they never sent anyone to fix it. Plus, the hotel had a very pungent odor. Dont bother, find another place. Sleeping by the dumpster would have been better than the room.
Beautiful hotel with a fantastic staff! We recently moved some big events over to this hotel, and we could not be happier. I highly recommend them not just for hotel stays but also for their event space. The accommodations and staff are outstanding. They are very welcoming, friendly, efficient, and quick to take care of anything you need. 5/5 stars in every way!
This was my first visit to Mentor. I found the hotel via my IHG account. I usually stay downtown, but this visit had business over in this area. I was not expecting a lot since I only wanted to sleep at night. I flew on the red eye so on almost no sleep, the staff was VERY accommodating. They quickly moved to clean a room and kept me updated. I was given a voucher for breakfast (omelette guy was great). The room was well beyond what I expected!!! It was huge and clean. Overall, if I stay in Mentor in the future, I will not hesitate to be at this hotel. The staff was super friendly- desk to the restaurant. Price is very fair. I felt I came out ahead on this trip.
The hotel was clean and modern. The bathroom in our room was a little small, but not so much that we were uncomfortable. We had a wonderful experience with the front desk staff, who were very friendly and helpful! We also enjoyed the restaurant in the hotel, as well as the pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area. There are also plenty of restaurants in a short distance, so it is a convenient location.
I was driving my mother home from Fort Wayne, IN to Rochester, NY. This was a last minute reservation. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of getting the room over the phone. Cindy, at the front desk, was extremely helpful. After we were checked in she recommended a few places for dinner including the restaurant right in the hotel (along with some meal suggestions). We took her advice and were very happy with the food and staff at the restaurant. I had the ribeye and Mom had a wedge salad - both were great! The room was very clean. I can really recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again.
Well we can start with the new mattresses... How awesome was that! To land a room with new mattress. The staff was helpful with some difficulties we had and very very willing to help us out. A downfall which doesnt affect many was the pull out couch. We needed it for my adult son and it was so bad. They usually are at any hotels. But we were given a roll away bed that worked better anyway. But very kind helpful staff!!!
Had a really great stay. The location was great, close to everything and easy to get in and out of. Bed was super comfortable, I loved the pillows. I think the best part was being able to set the ac at my desired temperature and being able to return to complete relaxation after a long hot day out. I come to Mentor often to visit family, and have tried various hotels in the area but this one is by far my favorite. 10/10 Will be back soon!
Greatly enjoyed my stay here. Was here on business for couple of weeks. Best part was Carla who greeted me every morning for breakfast with a smile on her face.Could have used a larger dresser to put away clothes for my extended stay but was not that big of an issue.Room was Neat and clean.Front desk was always accompany friendly.Bill
I had to stay in hotel due to power outage in city. I was very pleased with the suite I stayed in. COVID measures were in place at hotel so I felt very safe. Staff was very helpful, was thankful that rooms were available. Hotel in walking distance of restaurants, shopping and freeway.
The stay was good. The bed was comfortable and my wife was happy. (points) The out lets were close to the bed for my CPAP. Also we charge out cells. The hotel breakfast was good but I am a diabetic or borderline. So I must be careful the oatmeal just had hot water a microwave would have made it better. However the lady working the restaurant was helpful and heated my oatmeal.
Stayed two nights for business.Hotel was good, had both a little pool and small gym.Good enough for my needs during the stay.Location easy to find and staff friendly. If anything its not the most modern hotel, and could use a little touch up. Will definitely use it again next time im around.
Disappointing to run into poor customer service when checking in. I asked numerous questions and essentially received very short one word answers about the restaurant and breakfast. Felt unwelcome and avoided the front desk. Employees working in the hotel without masks which makes me question how clean the rooms are. I spent 20 minutes re sanitizing my room to be on the safe side.
During these crazy and unpredictable times I find it less encouraging to travel and stay at a hotel but when I am required to stay over night in a motel I always try to choose IHG motels. IHG motels are always clean and well kept. so when I stayed a week at the Holiday Inn in Mentor, OH it exceeded all my expectations and made me feel safe and comfortable to stay there.
Our stay was plesant. The rooms were clean and organized as a hotel should be. The lobby was filled with a great floral fragrance upon check in. The room (2 Queen beds) for my family of four was more than enough rooms for all of our luggage and personal items. The staff were very accommodating. However we were told that the breakfast was made to order and a full service restaurant (which is why we chose this specific hotel). Not the case. It was a hot breakfast buffet. The buffet was hot and decent. Other than that. Our stay was comfortable.
Everything was great except the conference room chairs. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and well appointed. The rate was reasonable. The food was very good and they have a well appointed bar. But honestly those conference room chairs are terrible. I was there for a 2.5 day conference and after the 1st day it became painful.
Really great experience here, room was clean and nice updated. We had a busy business agenda while in town and so we had a late night dinner at Marions in the hotel - the food even at 10 PM was excellent. Free breakfast in the morning was very good as well - really attentive and nice staff.
My stay has been so relaxing. Susan our server has been exceptional! So professional, friendly and going over and above to make my stay great! She was in our meeting room and in the restaurant!! Mike at the desk was also exceptional. He checked on us making sure everything was good. Very friendly and professional also. This trip has been so good we have moved our getaway in the fall to your hotel!! Keep up the great work!!
I originally booked a room at studio 6 in the same parking. After seeing the rooms there I went over to holiday inn and told them my situation. This was about 1030 at night. The gentleman working the front desk was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean, odor free and I felt safe there. I would definitely stay there again.
Clean, nice rooms. Had a new bed that was very comfortable. Breakfast vouchers for each day and includes buffet of scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage and/or bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, bagels, bread, fruit, cereal, waffle maker, and juices/coffee. Very nice stay and would def recommend!
I have family in the area that I like to visit but have struggled finding a good hotel that fit my needs and was affordable. This hotel was perfect! The rooms were spacious, which was great because I had my kids with me and a playpen for the baby. I had plenty of room for everything. The staff were always friendly and cheerful. There was a problem with the pool while we were there but they had it fixed within a day which my kids were very happy about. I loved the prompt attention to any issues that arose, like the pool. I will definitely be staying here on future visits to the area.
I held a regional conference here. From the time I started preparations until the departure, I have no complaints. The staff was easy to work with, helpful with suggestions and made the experience so easy. I cannot thank them enough. Food was good, rooms were great and the hotel is up to date and modern. I highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms were clean with modern/updated fixtures and appliances. Towels and linens were a nice size and weight and all white so you could see how clean they are. Rooms are not huge but big enough that I didnt feel like was always on top of my teen kids staying with me. There were at least two other large groups staying at the hotel and hotel staffing seemed adequate. The breakfast seemed a little understaffed. There was a little wait for a clean table and to pay the bill and it didnt seem that crowded, but since it was a buffet it worked out OK. Food was really good with a pretty good variety.
In town for daughters wedding. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating fot all my requests. Recent renovations gave a high end feel and not a cookie cutter look. Loved Marion’s tapas bar! Mattresses are a bit hard and uncomfortable. And with more guests on Saturday night it was more noisy - we could hear murmurs and banging doors throughout the the walls. Great location - easy access to major highways. I would recommend this hotel.
This was a much better than expected experience. We came up for a soccer tournament in Madison and after being displaced by a new Madison hotel Holiday Inn offer our group a block of rooms at a discount including breakfast. We had a great stay. Comfortable and clean rooms and the boys fully utilized the pool.
Great value, clean, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was affordable and the servers did a great job with a large Saturday morning crowd. There is a restaurant on property and several near hotel This hotel looks and feels modern with high-end finishes in the common areas. I had no issues during my stay. If you are looking for a modern full service Holiday Inn that is a great value near Mentor Ohio, I recommend this one.
The front desk staff was great! There was construction going on that was very well kept. It was difficult to walk on unfinished flooring in heels. The room was not clean upon arrival which was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was clean and elegant. Overall nice hotel despite minor set backs. I would revisit this hotel just for the front desk staff member’s disposition at check in.
The hotel is fine. In on a business trip. My issues are minor but important as Im in these places 2 or 3 times a month. I was put in a ♿ room and the parking lot is not close to half full. The room is across from the ice machine which seemed to get used often. It is what it is. Lastly, paid 500 to stay and breakfast was not included. Walked to nearby gas station for coffee. Its a holiday inn. Expect expected more.
As I started my stay there was a housekeeper keeping me from entering my room for about 10 minutes then made an excuse of “using the restroom” but when I confronted the manager of the night he said that she was “changing a lightbulb” I felt very violated. Then after checkout I was accused of smoking in a nonsmoking room that I booked. I also did not receive my deposit back and was called a liar. I was happy with the overall cleanliness but not too with the service
Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very clean and had a nice fitness room. However our bathroom had a patched ceiling that was peeling and some missing molding tiles. Hotel staff also never cleaned our room or replaced our towels after our first night.
So so. Not the most organized place. Small room is okay for me. The maintaenance people should clean up after themselves. Perhaps some rooms are better than others. I got one of the last rooms so it was probably just my luck. However, I like small basic rooms. People will have difference of opinions. There were no bugs. If you are willing to settle for dry paint in select areas of floor then you may be okay. Mattresses were decent too.
Super nice staff, super clean room. Pillows and mattress are excellent. Coffee, complimentary wipes, soaps, working phone and wifi. Very good water pressure, pleasant, law abiding, quiet guests. Good price thru discount apps. Enough lamps with working light bulbs, outlets, good ac, clean carpet and floors. linens very nice and clean. Highly recommend.
The front desk was very nice an friendly. Every time you pass by the front desk, they spoke to you. The room was clean upon entry. Housekeeping continued to clean the room on a daily basis. This is a great hotel and I recommend it to anyone for a good stay. No problems that I am aware of.
The lobby was well lit and very clean. There is a coffee machine just past the lobby check in area that was very welcome. The hallways and floors were clean. The lounge was open, but we didnt have a chance to use it. It looked nice but we were going out to another location. The room was comfy and was set up as expected. We did enjoy the stay and would come back again.
We felt the points used were higher than the perceived value of the rooms. We were upgraded, but suites did not have a selection of bed sizes. My wife and I prefer a king, as we are active sleepers. This just was not an option. However, the room was in good condition, which contributed to an overall relaxing stay. There were stains an damage to some of the furniture. When staying in a suite, this should not be present. The hvac equipment supplying the room were also a bit outdated and somewhat noisy. Just our opinion...
We were traveling on a long family trip and had stops at multiple hotels during our trip. We booked this hotel at the last minute and the pictures and reviews on-line looked great. Our main issue was the value we received for the price. The breakfast was not included in our room rate which we were not expecting. To the front desk clerks credit after we expressed some displeasure over this when combined with the rate he did provide us vouchers for a free breakfast. The breakfast was good and the waitstaff was really nice. However, In the middle of the night the toilet stopped working and the next morning the shower did not drain. We had to find restrooms in the lobby for us and the kids to use and the showering was not pleasant because the tub was full of water. We communicated this to the front desk clerk upon check out and her attitude was not helpful and did not solve our issues.
We ended up booking this hotel for a recent overnight stop. It was NOT our first choice, but an area event was booking up hotels quickly. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! The rooms were clean and quite comfortable, and we were so glad to have a fridge and microwave in the room. The staff was informative, friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet had several healthy choices and was extremely affordable - especially with our coupons as IHG members. I have added this hotel to the list of places we will stay when back in the area. It was easy to locate and its proximity to the expressway made it easy to get around. The only downside was that not all of the elevators had been renovated, and the hallway carpets were worn.
This place is beautiful. The rooms are very nice. When I opened the door to the room my first impression was, Wow! This nicer than the Holiday Inn on Heisley and we thought that one was nice. The breakfast was outstanding although it wasnt quite clear as to how you were seated and how you got your coffee and juice. We figured it out. Loved the staff. One thing: our refrigerator in our room was broken. They never brought in a replacement. They only offered to let us put our food in their office refrigerator. I would have thought that they might have a spare one or could pull one from a room that wasnt rented.
The rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The property is very nice. The breakfast was very good at Krave. The only thing I would say that needs to be worked on is housekeeping. Our room was missed 2 days in a row. The staff was quick to address it and get us towels both days. The only area I was not totally pleased with was the pool area. It also looked to be lacking in the housekeeping area. The paper towel dispenser in the pool area bathroom was jammed for 2 days, but someone must have been able to get some out because they tossed a bunch in the toilet for lack of a garbage can. All in all, I would stay there again, and hope that they get their housekeeping ducks in a row since they have only been open for about 4 months.
This Holiday Inn was nice. Rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staff was not super interactive but overall helpful when needed. No free breakfast, had to add it to your daily rate if you wanted their breakfast. Overall the rates were a bit high for what the hotel was offering. No complaints otherwise. Would stay again if in the area.
Clean and comfortable. Room was nice and modern. The shower pressure was one of the best Ive had in a hotel in a long time. Bartender was friendly. I had reserved a rate that came with breakfast and a drink but was told they didnt see that at check-in I had to pull up my reservation myself to prove it to them. When I first went to my room, my keys didnt work and I had to go back to the front desk to get them reprogrammed.
Nice rooms, super clean, included everything you needed in the room (personal Keurig and k cups, fridge, microwave). Staff were very nice, check in/out was quick and easy. Only downside was breakfast was NOT included (think you need to be a holiday inn rewards member). Was still a small buffet for 7.50. Eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, pancake and waffle maker were the highlights.
The room was great. The front desk was great. The housekeepers were great. The workers in the bar were horrible. My husband and i were mortified by a off dury bartender that works there to us. Very inappropriate. The prices changed depending on who was working each night. Service at breakfast was not good. My 7 and 9 year old were givin wine type GLASSES for their orange juice. We had to wait for food to be cooked. There was no lunch or dinner available in the restaurant like it showed on the website. The pool was very comfortable and we liked the laundry area being next to it. Im sorry I couldnt give a better review. If it werent for the experience in the restaurant and bar area the rest was great and I would have recommended it for other families looking to just get away. Thank you for your time.
Had to help family move, booked through booking.com for last minute room. Right near expressway so dont expect scenic views.. Facility is nice, kept clean. Staff is nice. Only problem is shower head is too low for my husband, most are as he is 64. Lots of restaurants near by.
Other than seeing my family, the nights we stayed at the Holiday Inn (1 night in South Carolina, 2 nights in Ohio, 1 night in North Carolina) were the most enjoyable thing about the trip. Check in was super fast, everyone was friendly, the room and hotel in general was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely. Husband and I have decided that after walking into and leaving 2 sketchy hotels in a slightly lower price range that we will always stay at Holiday Inns when we travel because we are guaranteed a clean, friendly place and a hot breakfast.
Overall, this was a nice hotel. The only issue was that the floors (carpet) in the room needed to be vacuumed better and the floors in the bathroom (tile) were noticeably dirty in the corners. Could have used more attention to detail while cleaning. Also, when arriving at the room, the air conditioning unit on the wall was falling apart. The cover had came off. Not sure how the staff didnt notice.
Location is perfect with ease of access in and out. Excellent customer service from check in to check out. Water pressure and shower are amazing! Towels and bathroom amenities are excellent. Clean, safe and quiet for single traveler. Breakfast buffet priced appropriately and offers a wide variety. Keurig coffee machines in the rooms, along with mini frig and microwave. Perfect for short or long stays. Would highly recommend this location.
The hotel room is small, but had everything we needed. The pillows were great. The staff at check in only gave us one coupon for the breakfast, even though we paid extra for all 4 people in our room. So when we got to breakfast, they had to check with the front desk to see if we all had breakfast, which we did. They told us we could sit wherever we wanted, then they would come to take our drink order, but they never did. We had to get up and ask for a drink each time we needed one. When we checked out of hotel, the check out person asked why we were leaving early, but we werent.
This is by far the nicest Holiday Inn I have stayed in, not to mention it is an Express chain. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant which always makes a world of difference. The hotel itself was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. For the price, you can’t get much better than this! Very shockingly pleased with my stay. Keep it up Holiday Inn Mentor!
Overall this was a great visit. Had an awesome first two days while visiting for a wedding reception being hosted here. The ball room was big. The wedding party had a great time. The final day was a little frustrating with staff slamming doors while moving room to room to clean them. The concessions were a bit over priced. Overall value for room price, cleanliness, and courtesy top notch.
We stay at Holiday Inns everytime we travel because we are usually pretty satisfied with our stays, but this particular location has EXCEEDED our expectations! The room(s), (a 2 room queen suite) were spotless and the beds were soooo comfy. The staff, from housekeeping to front desk, to even our bartender at the hotel restaurant, were all so courteous and professional, and had a way of making us feel truly welcome and appreciated. I highly recommend this hotel!
This hotel has been newly renovated. This is truly a home away from home type of hotel. The Front Desk Staff was extremely helpful. The Assistant General Manager was very friendly and really went above and beyond. We ate in their restaurant called Krave, it had a great menu selection and everything I ordered was very good. They had a Soup of the Day that was amazing. Chef Ashley came out and greeted our table to ensure we liked everything.Next time I am in this area, I will be staying here again.
As the title states, the Breakfast Buffet that is about $10/person is nowhere near worth that money. The rooms at this hotel are fairly expensive and the buffet is barely the same quality of a mediocre continental breakfast which is typically included at other hotels. The cleanliness is their best attribute. The hotel and the rooms were pretty clean. The bed was fairly comfortable, BUT the thermostat is VERY NOISY!! Every time the thermostat would cycle, it would click 2-3 times. It is a very loud and distinctive clicking. It would bring me out of a deep sleep every time. I was here for business and not getting good rest did not not help me at all. I would not recommend this hotel unless it is a last resort option. Just plan on buying breakfast elsewhere and you should be ok.
The room was comfortable and spacious, with a fridge and microwave for added convenience. The location of the hotel was close to multiple restaurants, and the parking was plentiful. In addition, coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby was a nice treat. Good service, clean facilities.
The staff was very courteous. Rooms were clean, the beds are very uncomfortable. Do not eat in the Restaurant, if so, be careful with your selection. Stick to the basics. Very overpriced for the quality. I had to have my food taken off of my bill it was awful.I ordered a Steak Salad. The lettuce was brown, the bread provided has been cooked on a grill and was crossed with Fish previously prepared and the steak resembled shoe leather. Appearance was great, staff was friendly, clean rooms, however the beds were uncomfortable.
We were in the area for granddaughters graduation and were so happy to find a nice place to relax and rest before hitting the road the next day. We were very pleased with the price and value of a well kept facility inside and out and comfortable beds. Ample towels and bath cloths were provided and the bathroom was spotless. Appreciated the friendly welcome by the staff and quick and accurate check in and out.
This hotel had excellent location for our trip. Outside is well maintained, lobby very nice. One elevator was not working, so the wait to get upstairs with luggage was a little longer then expected. The room was very nice. Only complaint was the outlet to charge my cell by the bed was not working.
I have stayed at this property a couple days a week for about 6 months now. I always try to book in advance as soon as I have my travel schedule because I dont want to miss out on staying with my friends away from home. Every time I come back to the property I am greeted warmly by the front desk staff, and retreat quickly to the bar/restaurant to enjoy an after work cocktail with the amazing bar staff. These people really keep me coming back to this property time and time again. The rooms are recently renovated and comfortable. My room is always cleaned every day to my expectations. Highly recommended!
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times for work. I have never had a bad experience at anytime. Staff is friendly and professional. Rooms are clean and in good order. Having a warm breakfast is always a plus and just got better with the omelette bar during my last visit.
We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn-Mentor! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were very well kept up and clean. The beds could be a little softer and there definitely needs to be a blackout curtain in every room. We will definitely be staying again for our next tournament up here.
This is my 2nd visit to the hotel. I have been very impressed. Everyone I encountered were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Had dinner at their new restaurant. I would highly recommend! The menu offered many fine dining options at affordable prices. I had the double cut bone in pork chops that was cooked to perfection. When you travel the one thing we look forward to is a comfortable place to stay and a good meal. This hotel far exceeded that.
Overall I would use this facility again. It was recommended by the business I was visiting. The facility is clean, the room was excellent, hotel staff were attentive and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the room amenities were all excellent. The only drawback is breakfast, I found it weak for what they charge, Cracker barrel does a better job.
The location was great, several chain and independent restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and the room was great, only issues I had during my stay was that the hallways had small amounts of trash and the heating unit was kind of loud. The breakfast buffet could use a little work, scrambled eggs were burnt and soaking in wayer. Bacon was burnt. I would pass on breakfast voucher and hit up a local restaurant. Overall experience was above average.
Pictures online looked wonderful, so we drove out of our way to stay here. Disappointment to say the least. The check in process took over 10 minutes, which is way too long, room was not very clean, sheets were extremely wrinkly, almost looked as if they were just made from the guests before. Bathroom was not cleaned well. There were 3 bath towels in the bathroom for 4 adults. We went to front desk to get more, they did not have any, so someone brought some down about 15 minutes later, and when we upwrapped them, we realized the guy gave us the floor mat towels not even real towels. Not worth the amount of money charged. On a positive note, the hotel was decorated nicely and was very modern which was nice.
The room was great. The Inn was quiet, which was nice after a long day traveling. The facilities appeared well maintained. The only downside: the buffet breakfast bar was very disappointing. The fruit was not ripe, the eggs were plain, and the coffee only tolerable. Whoever buys and prepares the produce should sample it first to make sure its ready for consumption. If you like Dennys, youll probably like this restaurant.
I spoke with someone at the front desk before my visit and she was less than friendly. Check in went okay, upon arriving to our room, we found the bathtub half full of water and hairs on the side of the tub. After notifying the front desk, they sent the maintenance man up with a object to unclog the drain. The drain was not clogged the stopper was still in the tub. It had not been properly cleaned. I had to drain and rinse the tub myself. The front desk seemed not too concerned with my disgust. I was going to request a new room, except I had been previously informed the hotel was booked full. The beds are HORRIBLE, one of the worst Ive experienced. Definitely not up to the standards of an Holiday Inn & IHG Hotel I am accustomed too visiting.
On my arrival the employees were very nice and were able to give us directions to our rooms. The room was very clean and had a great style to it. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear everything going on in the hallway and above you. It sounded like bowling balls were being drop in the room above us. I did not get to sleep till midnight because of the sounds but the bed was very comfortable. The following morning I was going to go to the gym to work out but the location was on listed in my hotel room and there was only one sign for the gym and I found it far away from its location. When I asked the staff for its location they were very rude as where it was and how to get there. In the gym the gym lacked an elliptical which was posted online to have. It felt very empty and lacking for a workout place. Over all the place was not too bad. It has a nice look to it and it is clean. They need to work on one staff members politeness, making better signs, provide everything that is on the website, and sound proofing the rooms so you dont hear everything around you.
We stay at this HI 3-4 times per year. Rooms are very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My main gripe is the breakfast. The restaurant staff is very helpful. Once when there was no skim milk, the lady went next door to a convenience store to get some. But the food is definitely sub-standard compared to that at other chains. Sometimes they give us a voucher. Sometimes we have to pay. Im guessing that about half the guests have vouchers. So my recommendation is -improve the food quality, increase the room rate a bit, and make breakfast complimentary!
I had the option of staying here or the nearby Express location and chose this based on the website and proximity to my meeting location. Two colleagues chose the Express location; I should have as well. The bar and restaurant touted on their website was closed so I coiuld not get dinner or a drink when I got in. I was also put in a room on the 2nd floor with a lovely view of the algae covered roof and a brick wall. The staff was not rude at all but didnt seem enthusiastic about just checking me in. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and seemed modern (save for the alarm clock the looked like someone punched and caved in the speaker so it only buzzed, no radio). Overall the visit was not horrible, but definitely did not live up to my experiences at other IHG locations.
Bedding was fresh and clean. For having such a busy hotel, the room was quiet and comfortable. All the staff was helpful and friendly.Additionally we attended an event in the main ballroom on Sunday the temperature was cool and comfortable. The first floor rest rooms were kept spotless!Very high marks all the way around. I recommend highly.
Great Hotel and Staff. Professional in every sense of the word. Very clean and comfortable. Can’t thank the staff enough for how accommodating they were. Professional and caring are the only words that come to mind. Only problem I had was I couldn’t book for the following week as they didn’t have any vacancies. Should have tried to book sooner.
Overall I would give this hotel an excellent rating. My only complaint was that my stay was due to a snow storm and my inability to drive in the weather conditions, but because I did not book in advance, and there were somewhat limited rooms available, I was not able to receive any of the discounts that I usually receive. Even my military discount was unavailable. I dont believe that discounts should be dependent on availability. I earned that discount. Other than that, the hotel itself was very nice, friendly staff, very clean. Great place to stay.
Spotless, and fresh, with a friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room. Attended an event there and even with the large turnover of guests the restrooms and facility was spotless! Stayed a year ago and felt the same way. This hotel is highly recommended for both value and comfort. Im looking forward to a return trip.
Top scores across the board except food and beverage which left a little to be desired ; due to the Covid virus, Im sure. And the maid service was cleaning into late afternoon. When returning to my room after 4pm, the maid was still cleaning my room. Twice this happened! Not cool
I checked in for four days with my two young boys. The hotel was beautiful in appearance. The rooms were extremely clean. I especially appreciated kids 12 and under eat free at the onsite Krave restaurant. The food was excellent! The indoor pool was nice and clean. I will definately stay here again when in the Cleveland area, as I was only 20 min from downtown.

2021-12-05We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. We especially enjoyed the very nice hot buffet breakfast in the morning. It was nice to enjoy a real breakfast and not a to go bag. Jason ensured that the breakfast buffet was warm and fully stocked at all times. He was a pleasure to chat with in the mornings and was very helpful with his knowledge of the area.

2022-05-03Quick check in, clean facilities. The bed though! So comfortable! Would sleep here again! The bathroom was adequate. And the breakfast was good, although some things were low supply.

2022-02-08It’s actually in Mentor. It’s the only place I’ll stay here. It’s great. Clean. Great buffet breakfast. Of course the staff is perfect. Everything a person could need.I wish the restaurant would open up again. But there’s two in the parking lot. One across the street and several others really close by.

2022-03-18Service, breakfast were all great, rate was acceptable a little high. Only complaint are the beds they are hard as rocks but you have that - the worst part of them was the height of the bed. We had my 77 year old mother with us and we had to lift her in the bed and she isnt that short neither am I but the bed comes to my upper hip and Im 5 foot 7. My mother in law is 5 foot and she would have had to get boosted or run and jump. Not very easy to get into bed for the elderly, or short people

2022-06-18Positive: Location Negative: Bathtub did not drain, bathroom had no working exhaust, my room key kept failing, several different keys. Room was listed as having a fridge, it was a mini, bathroom toilet seat loose. Very disappointed in presentation of the room and hotel. Hotel 2.5

2021-10-12We had a nice 2 night stay at this hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious (we had a room with 2 beds and then another room attached with a pull out couch). It was nice to spread out (and have 2 TV’s.) The hot breakfast was really good. The only downfall was that the pool wasn’t working!! Other than that we had a great stay! The front staff when we checked in and out were all great and super helpful!

2022-01-30The receptionist was awesome!! She gave good recommendations to places to go to. The hotel room was great clean and friendly atmosphere.
