Its a big NO. The space is very small and the food very salty. When calling to pick up the order they did not answer, while I saw the girl from my car in hesitation with the other. When they finally answered they left me waiting on the phone while I listened to how they talked badly and even made fun of and said rude things about one of the clients present in the place. In the end I had to get out of the car to go pick up the food, when clearly on their page it says to call the place so they can bring the food to the car. High prices for the quantity. I dont think Ill go back to the place. I would not recommend this place at all.
Undoubtedly the worst tacos Ive ever eaten. I dont know what else to say. Im a vegan, so I ordered the cauliflower taco and the vegetarian Esquite taco without the cheese. The corn tortillas were rubbery, dry, and tasteless, and each taco was wrapped in two of them. The fillings were dry and tasteless too (the Esquite was a little better than the cauliflower - but not much). There was no salsa, sauce, nothing to give it any moisture or flavor. I was really surprised in a bad way. Honestly, the rice and bean tacos at Taco Bell are better.
High quality food & friendly service! I have been here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Every dish is packed with flavor and is super fresh. I personally love the esquite (charred corn) appetizer. The coliflor (cauliflower) tacos are also quite a treat, even if youre not a vegetarian! They also have a cute outdoor seating area. Definitely worth trying a few different items off their menu!
Slow service. if i seen a waitress 2x it was alot. Went with a small group ( separate checks) and we were all charged gratuity (over $60) only 5 people. they claimed it was mandatory & automatically charged . me & my husband got 4 tacos ($5.25 each) (bland & tough) 2 drinks ($3 each) & cozumel sauce(water down) ($3) which ranged up to $30 & paid about $50 on a mandatory 20% gratuity i personally dont recommend nor will i returni highly recommend cozumel restaurant on 150th they provide great service, food, & dont purposely overcharge
The carne asada tacos and birria tacos were good. I wouldn’t recommend getting the rice and beans. They tasted like they were made out of a packet. And they charge $3 for rice and then $3 for beans. Some reason they also charged $3 for consome(soup) for the birria tacos. If your looking for some good street tacos I recommend driving up to la Mexicana in painsville
I am extremely disappointed by the customer service I received at Hola tacos today. I got to the location around 7:35 and there was a line of about 3 people in front of me, there was one girl taking orders. I patiently waited as she took all of their orders. When she was done with them she never even acknowledged the fact that I was standing there, and it was obvious I was waiting to be helped because after they placed their orders they exited to their cars. I continued to wait as this girl started handing out food and busying herself with other miscellaneous things. Another young lady asked me if I needed something and I said yes I need to place a order and she told me I had to wait for the original girl that I was already waiting for. Some more time goes by and she taking phone orders and cashing people out, never once greet me or anything. After three of them cashed out one customer and finally asked me did I need some help, I said yes I need to place a order, she proceeded to tell me it was a 45min to hour wait and I said that’s fine. She then WALKED AWAY. Never took the order, didn’t say okay give me a minute, nothing. So I stood there trying to figure out what really just happened. The phone rang and she answered, I’m still visible standing no more than 5 feet away from her. A white couple walks in and she immediately addresses them asking them were they there for pick up or dine in, she let them know the wait time, she even offered to call them when it was close to the time their food would be ready. Where was this customer service at for me? I had been in there for over 15-20 minutes and she act like I was invisible. After the couple declined and left I politely asked her why she addressed them before servicing me. They clearly were standing behind me in the line and you know you rudely walked away when I was talking to you earlier. She never apologized for her unprofessionalism. She proceeded to ask me well did I want to place a order because the wait was a hour and a half now. And I told her why did the time change for me when you told me it was 45 to one hour a little ago. She just looked at me and I told her don’t even worry about it because I was too outdone by how I was treated. I have gone to this location for YEARS, and I have a pretty nice size family and we spend a good amount of money there and I just can’t believe how horrific this was. It was as though I was invisible or something like she was purposely avoiding me. I was literally the only person standing by the cash register at one point in time and she went and did some other miscellaneous things like looking in the cooler. If you didn’t want to service me fine, say that. But I’ve done nothing to you, I’ve never even seen it interact with you prior to today. Don’t waste 25 minutes of my time when I’m trying to give your business money. I rave about this place and I just can’t believe how I was treated today. It was so poor, distasteful, unprofessional, and disrespectful. When I left today I promise I’ll never ever go back. That’s time waste, gas wasted, expectations let down. Just a sorry situation. Management needs to retrain her or place her where she isn’t with customers. I’m not saying this was a racial motivated situation but it sure looks like it. The white lady she took her order with no problem, two Mexican/ Hispanic men she serviced with no problem, they left she never addressed me, she cashed out other people, a white couple walks in and physically standing behind me as I’m standing by the cash register and your nice and attentive and address them immediately, but me the black woman in a fuchsia coat you just can’t seem to see. I’ll never be returning. Good day!
Food was decent, I have been to a different location which I liked. BUT! It would have been nice to know that at this location they don’t serve alcohol here before coming (should’ve read the reviews, bust since I have been to the other locations where they do I didn’t think I would need to question it.) The building literally says cerveza on the side of it, which is misleading. It also would have liked to know that getting a cup of refillable water (instead of wasteful bottles of water that I had to keep paying for) was out of the question. I’m sorry but that is ridiculous, if I’m at a sit down restaurant at least grant me free water… I get having a different concept at this location if that is what you are going for, just make it obvious to the consumer before they sit down. Also had to order the consume separate from the pizza just fyi, I didn’t pay attention when ordering.
I tried al pastor tacos at la plaza and hola tacos last night and Hola won! Hola tacos the meat was more tender and has a little more flavor and the tortillas were like cooked to crisp up a little bit little bit more attention to detail on the presentation and the overall quality of food.Everything about the Holo Taco is very good the texture the seasoning the meat is tender onions and cilantro but the pineapple which is a traditional part of El Paso tacos just overpowered, it taste like a pineapple Taco. I am thinking I like the Hola taco and I would recommend it but I would order without the pineapple or maybe pineapple on the side. It was taste pineapple.
Great selection of tacos that remind me of when I’m out working in LA. Guacamole was also very good. This place was well worth it and will definitely be returning. Only concern is the price which is a little bit high but it’s about what you can expect for this quality of food.
Mix and match taquitos, on the patio, in December, under the heaters! I tried a few tacos and the staff brought out some consomme to try or to dip in - which is apparently a thing. (A good thing) Tacos were meaty and delicious.A few extra sauces on the table to cool things off or spice things up.
I tried to place a order on the phone so i can go and pick it up and not have to wait in the restaurant while its being made I was told I had to pay over the phone with my card or come in and order I don’t think that’s really practical when someone just trying to grab food quickly and be out
Hola was super tasty, but there are a few things they can improve. Food was yuuuuuuum!! That birria taco was drool inducing. The french dip of tacos...its worth the trip! My son said his al pastor tacos were the best he ever had, and we love our tacos. That being said, it would have been better for them to describe the drink situation, its all bottles out of the cooler. I hate buying bottled water. If Id known, I would have just brought my own reusable bottle. Service was super friendly, and they seemed very well staffed, but they are at a strange hybrid state of full service and order at the counter service that could be improved if they commit to one or the other. Overall, highly recommend, especially if you know what to expect!
The food was not seasoned and it was not good at all. The sauce for the barria taco was disgusting. When my cousin and I told the server the food was nasty all she said was Im sorry to hear that. If you like unseasoned food then you have the right place to eat at. If you want some really good Mexican food do not go here.
I have yet to dine “in,” but can still speak about the quality of food. Even for carry out that I didn’t eat for some time after I got home, the flavours of everything were fantastic. The staff was wonderful, and made great recommendations on which plates to order. It was a busy day for their patio (this being a few weeks ago), but my several item to-go order was still ready in less than 15 minutes. All around impressed and delighted. I can’t wait to visit Hola Tacos again!
The food was delicious. The service was not the best. Ladies forgetting the order, not knowing who ordered what and the air pods in the ears was a wrap. I get its 2021 but we still have go accommodate our customers. And organization & accuracy is #1 in the service industry. Ill get it again but just to go.
Good food, horrible customer service. Fisrt I called and they would not take a cash order over the phone. Then i got there, put in my order, and they didnt have change for any cash. So I had to go get change for the exact amount of the order. Only to come back get my food, and forgot all the etra condiments i paid, there were no napkins or plastic cutlery. So i had to come back a third time. Get it together.
Everything here is made fresh and fast. The guac tasted so fresh and I loved the peppers they put on top. The burrito was delicious, I love the smokey hot sauce they put on it, Id order it by the jar if I could! The Mexican ramen was a fun twist on ramen. It was a super hearty broth and the beef was really tender. The radishes and the grilled corn added a nice crunch. The patio itself is super cute, I love the bright yellow tables and chairs. And all the staff was really kind and friendly.
5 stars because the tacos are arguably the best Ive ever had and taste like authentic southern Cal, LA style street tacos.. flavors are incredibleBut definitely a little too pricey and the pricing doesnt seem consistent.. 4.5 for a birria taco yet 9 for guac? Doesnt add up..I would come here frequently if the pricing was slightly more reasonable!
So it may not be the greatest sit down dining place for the winter time but the service was great and the tacos... those Birria Tacos are the best damn tacos that Ive ever had in my life. I can tell whoever cooked the food is cooking it with their heart and soul. 10/10 will 100% come back.
*Edit: I decided to give them one more chance and Im very glad that I did! The Birria Tacos are some of the crunchiest, juiciest, most flavorful tacos that Ive ever had. I went back a third time and they were still really good, but not as amazing. A well deserved change to 4 ⭐Hola Tacos Lakewood catches my eye every time I pass it. It looks like an old ice cream stand that was repurposed into a taco joint from the outside... Sounds funky, yeah? Im pretty sure Im not far off from that guess, after visiting the inside. But not my kinda funky. The ambiance is Cattle Stockade-Fenced American Parking Lot and the seating is Classic American Patio Dining Set. The patio umbrellas add a touch of sophistication. The school bus yellow dining sets do not.The menu is basic. Very basic. Dare I say, parking lot basic? Water is bottled and $3. Other drinks available from the Coke cooler include Coke, Sprite and Jarritos. There are a handful of different taco selections. Yup, thats 5. There are 3 appetizers to choose from. There is no bathroom. There is no bar.I didnt know adults consumed tacos without beer or margaritas? I also feel its a bit risky to serve greasy cheesy tacos with no place for patrons to relieve themselves, after ingesting said tacos. I was interested in the Birria tacos - But had no interest in tacos and water, or tacos and soda. So, we politely declined to order. They were very friendly and informed that they have a restaurant up the street - with bathrooms and a full bar.Its unfortunate that nothing about this place says Taqueria. I had hopes, based on outside appearance and the quality of other restaurants in the neighborhood. Maybe theyll get a bathroom and a bar, one day - Then, maybe Id say Ole, Hola! But, I dont think that Ill be stopping back to see if that is ever achieved.
Excellent food - the birria is to die for. Always seem to have some issue with the service though, whether its waiting to be seated while the servers are standing around talking or waiting forever to have our order taken, and the fact that they dont have a bathroom yet makes me reluctant to eat here.
I liked the set up of this place with the picnic tables and casual setting. The salsa and chips are really good. You can tell the chips must be home made. The tacos themselves werent great. The only vegetarian option was cauliflower tacos and the cauliflower was under cooked and bland. There wasnt much flavor or sauce on the tacos. Overall I felt the menu was kind of limited and overpriced. I would probably stick to La Plaza next time.
You want something authentic and hits you in your soul, GOOD food? Go straight there! Right now! Stop reading this and go! This place is AMAZING!!!!! The girl that waited on us was totally sweet... The barria tacos were PACKED! And the meat was so tender and seasoned perfectly! The queso... Get it with corn and chorizo!! SOOOO GOOD!!!!
We ordered from doordash which was fine but holy smokes $5 per taco. Not clearly stated on the doordash menu with photos of three tacos on a plate like plated together as a meal. Kind of tricky marketing. The pulled beef was very flavorful and the steak was tough and grisly. The guacamole is sour and runny and light green. It was not worth $3 for a shot glass sized portion. I just expected better for a $5 a piece price and $3 for a literal shotglass of not real guac
The service was bad. It took a long time for my dad and I to get our Burritos. Waitress didnt give me more chips. Dont order the burritos here theyre hard as a rock and they give you plastic fork and knife that cant into the Burrito. This place is way too expensive. Hard to find parking.
They had a one hour carry out waiting line on a Saturday at 4pm. I ordered birria tacos and no where its mentioned that you dont get the consomme with it. They are charging $3 for the consomme in addition to $9 for two taco. Multiple calls and a long wait later my tacos arrive with overcooked meat and undercooked shell pretty much tastes like leather. Do not waste your time or money here.
If you take away the low reviews by cheap people who think a night out shouldnt cost more than $3.00, bad reviews by people who cry about waiting more than 5 minutes for AWESOME food, and low reviews by vegans who cry that a restaurant known for MEAT doesnt serve snowflake sandwiches or whatever vegans eat, then I believe Hola Tacos would be much closer to the actual rating they deserve.I prefer the atmosphere of the Lakewood location (the Willoughby location has just as good food, but its too fancy at the Willoughby restaurant for me.) My new favorite restaurant!
Food looked very professionally put together for just a little place. Big portions. Was kinda shocked when I ordered a Mexico coke thinking it was something cool, and was just handed a bottle of coke that was made in Mexico -and paid three dollars for it. Vegetarian food was limited which is surprising for a taco place, I was confused trying to decipher what was vegetarian on the menu. My husband eats meat and was thrilled with the menu although. No bathroom, was told to go down the street to a local bar to use one in the middle of my lunch. That was weird. They said they were expanding soon so tho, so I am sure there bathroom problem will get solved. My burrito had little flavor, was meatless and they used califlower instead of meat, which I thought was a cool idea but lacked vibrancy in flavor. Server was nice and efficient. Would like to go back maybe in summer or after expansion and give it another try.
We went to Hola Tacos for the first time yesterday with 2 friends that have previously been here. I can’t remember our waitresses name, but she was training Jose. It was busy, but she was at our table checking on us all of the time. She was very friendly and attentive. Hola Tacos was following all of the guides for the coronavirus pandemic. The food was awesome and the patio is great. We can’t wait to come back.
Ordered on line, confirmation said 5:55PM pick up. Got to the Lakewood location to wait an additional hour and a half. The lady at the front register forgot what I was waiting for and asked me three times to repeat my order. While I was waiting outside in the cold weather for my food, the lady took additional orders and completed the transactions. I asked for a refund and the lady said she did not know how to refund me my money. I do not recommend this location, not sure if the other two locations have better service but Lakewood SUCKS!
This is by far my favorite place for Tacos in the Cleveland area. Everything is made fresh and is extremely tasty! If you’re like me and like things spice ask you will have to ask them to make it spicer for you. Overall I highly recommend a visit. Also they have a nice outdoor patio.
This place is pricey for no reason cause they are so skimpy on the tacos 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve been here twice. The first time ALL of my food was literally cold and the birria ramen noodles weren’t even cooked. Second time I dined in and got the birria tacos with consome & it just tasted old and bland. They forgot to bring out our rice and beans with the tacos and servers didn’t even check on us until we finished our food so I just had them take it off the bill. Probably wouldn’t come here again. You want good tacos try La plaza, Luchitas, or Lindeys Lakewood.
My husband had been waiting to enjoy some Birria tacos since moving to Ohio just 2 months ago and he found this place. We drove 30mins to try these out- waited 45mins, even gave up our table for a larger party while we sipped on a Jarrito only for that table to get their food while we still had nothing. We paid for our soda and left. If you asked me they shouldve comped it for crying out loud...seriously disappointed.
I had the Birria Tacos 🌮 with the cosome and my taste buds were in heaven 😋 the dipping sauces are delicious ! Had the queso as an appetizer it was very good as well! A bit pricey per taco but for it to be made fresh and different sauces im all for it!! I will definitely be returning ☺
Ive never posted a negative review. But i ordered from doordash this was the worst experience I have ever experience with a restaurant. I ordered 3 orders of birriacoas and got 1 order of it . And 2 soft taco orders . . They also only gave sauce to one of the orders, I honestly feel like this was the worst experience Ive had with a restaurant ever .do not ever go to this restaurant or try it especially through a app that you cant take the food back or see them make it in your face
11-04 Update...Disappointing experience at the Larchmere location. The employees were trying to close early, refusing to serve food during hours of operations.Came in at 8P on a weeknight— Hours online says they close at 9P.No greeting when coming in to set expectations or be sat. Asked an employee if it is self-seating, after waiting for five minutes. Female Employee closing on 11-04-2020 advised us that they were not serving anymore food.Called on the phone after leaving to see if we could place a take-out order. The same female answered, advised us they were now doing take-out orders. Why couldn’t she advise us that we could place a take-out order when we were in the restaurant? Easy enough to figure out— the staff wanted to close early, so they could leave more quickly. I can empathize with that sentiment, but quality service is the backbone of the food industry.Placed the order still, but the female employee not only got the order wrong, but hung up on us before we could clarify. Female employee did not advise us of the total— we called back, cancelled the order, and took our money over to Barrio.I avoid sketch customer service experiences like this— no point in wasting your money on employees who are refusing service so they can close up shop early.Edit: If the location ran out of food, why wouldn’t they just set that expectation? The location did not run out of food, as they were still willing to complete a carry out order over the phone.11-05 Update...Emailed the Owner, Juan Vergara, advising him that the Larchmere Hola Tacos did not run out of food on 11-04, since they were willing to complete an order for 9 tacos over the phone at roughly8:05P. Awaiting a response from Juan Vergara, the owner, but based on his lukewarm response below, I doubt he will respond.11-08 Update...After Juan Vergara, the Owner, lied to us below about his Larchmere location running out of food, he declined responding to my email response. Juan Vergara leads with poor customer service— this trickles down to his employees and will ultimately reflect in the quality of his food.
Your guys tocos were bland as hell your guacamole had too much lime in it no salt, taco el pastor was bland the pork did not have enough sauce in it the salsa red and green tasted like vomit not spicy at all and who tf put salt in sour cream. I will not come back to that restaurant you guys should of put American style tacos just so you dont confused us hispanics for making that abomination you guys call tacos and would not pay 36 bucks ever again for your tacos.
Amazing burritos! Had the carne asada and the meat was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this for a different experience.Edit: The only thing i did not enjoy was the disposable silverware and if you ask for water, they service you a bottle of water and charge you $2 for it.
Waited 15 minutes to get my drink ordered and that was after I walked to the window to ask if I had to order there. Thats when the waitress finaly came to take our drink order. Then another 15 minutes later noone came to take our food order however people walking in could place a Togo order even though I had been seated for 30minutes at this point. I decided to leave without ever being served. I DO NOT recommend to anyone
I saw that picture of the tacos and the soup dip stuff, which is what I went for and it was so good I went two days in a row!! I friggin love this place! The patio is super cute, decked out with yellow tables and chairs with the cutest herb garden lining the patio. Its self-seat, and the tables have umbrellas for shade.Ok, so lets also talk about the fact that this place is BYOB!!! 😲 like seriously!!Also, please please please ask about the queso popsicle LOL.
The first time going to Hola, I ordered my food, waited, and then went home. Unfortunately, the order was completely wrong or I go someone elses order. No problem as mistakes happen. I let Hola Tacos know this via Instagram. They did replay and absolutely wowd me by offering a gift certificate. I gave them my email and waited. Unfortunately, Im still waiting for it. I wanted to give a second chance so I suggested them to a friend. She went and ordered and brought the food over. Unfortunately again, the food was wrong. The sales receipt was correct, but not the food. So after giving the place a second chance, I will unfortunately avoid it. 1 star for service and 4 for food quality.Ive updated my review to be 4 stars as Hola Tacos did send a gift card. I am quite appreciative of the effort and impressed with the concern on the matter. Thank you
Hola Tacos had me saying hola to flavor!! It was so good, we went again three days after our first visit. We had the chicken burrito, carnitas burrito, carnitas tacos, carne asada tacos, and guacamole. They were all delicious, and I especially loved the radishes in the guac (the hot salsa is also delicious). Wait time for a table and food can be rather long, but they make everything fresh and theres only a few cooks in the kitchen. I love that you can BYOB.My only negatives are that the chips are bland, the carne asada was a little dry, and you have to pay for water, which I think is ridiculous. I also wish they had a bench outside to sit on while you wait for a table.I will be going back, though.
I can’t say enough good things about this little place! The food ! Amazing ! The servers were so fun & friendly , beautiful comfortable patio , music playing in the background ,, byob so we grabbed a couple margaritas from the bar next door :) I seriously Felt like I was back on vacation:). I live in the area and love we can walk there ..even if we didn’t. Worth a drive ! My new fav place !
My husband ordered the carne asada tostadas and I had the alpastor tacos, these are by far the closest al pastor tacos I have tried to the ones we have had while traveling in Mexico, they were delicious! The combination of salsas are also to die for, highly recommend. They plan to open their indoor seating next year so we can not wait, this will be the next taco hot spot for sure. Keep up the good work!
My sister hyped this spot up so much! Hubby and I tried it and we were like Meh. We didnt die afterwards, but I cant stand having my mouth watering, go out if my way to get what I believe is gonna be the holy grail of comfort food to only be let down. Will we go again? Meh, maybe.
The food is very pricey and bland!!! Nothing impressive about this place . The owner was very rude when he responded to a review he didn’t like. I had a chewy taco and the plainest chicken quesadilla on earth. You only got 1 star because I couldn’t choose zero. Not one napkin in sight!!! You suck!
If your looking for authentic food then this place is definitely is NOT it. The service was terrible. Nothing about the food was good and wasnt impressed at all. I was with a table of 5 and we all said the same thing. Noting good to say about this place. Go to Chipotle youll get off way better. Forcued ourselves to eat the food. Price of the amount of saltless food is absurd.

2022-07-30This place was great. Everything was full of flavor and fresh. Our waiter which I had on a few occasions, I believe her name was Julianna(?), I’m sorry I can’t remember. She is wonderful. Always pleasant and attentive. The queso is really good and the birria pizza was a great first try.

2022-05-06Tried for the first time on May 4th absolutely delicious birria tacos and consomé!!! ♥️ The girl up front hostessing was so nice I didn’t catch her name but she was young. I ordered to go and my order was correct and everything was fresh and hot.

2022-06-12I stopped here on a Friday for lunch. I was given the choice to seat myself. I sat on the patio under an umbrella. My server was quick, pleasent and knowledgeable. My food came out quickly and in a Togo container. I liked this idea because I was in a time squeeze. This is the quesabirria. It was flavorful and came with an au jus that made it even better. I ate it as left overs for 3 meals for $17. Not bad in my idea!

2022-08-13Wow. The quesabirria is insane. Little pricey but SO GOOD! get the little dips its worth it. Best avocado app Ive ever had. Again a little pricey, but this place is stunning. Ive eaten at Michelin star restaurants and this place thumps.

2022-05-13I stopped at Hola Tacos for a quick bite to eat. The service was a bit hap hazard but the server was nice enough. I ordered the Chicken Tinga Tacos and a Sprite. The tacos were on the smaller side and double rolled. After a bite, I noted that the chicken was tough, maybe not shredded properly, and kept getting stuck in my teeth. The tacos were OK taste wise but nothing out of the ordinary. Service was fast, however the server brought over napkins after I had consumed one taco. Also, i would have like the option to get a nice hot sauce.

2022-07-24The food was good, but not worth the price at all! Not a family friendly place at all. We only had 6 out of our 9 member family with us. They mark up the bill 20% automatically for parties of 6 or more. It will just be my husband and myself for now on. Needless to say if we ever decide to go back. Plus after looking over the receipt again, they had the nerve to charge us for an extra taco! Good food, but expect to be robbed!

2021-08-22Update ⬇️ above pic was from my first visit, not updated review...I took 2 family members out to eat this afternoon & picked up 8 Birria tacos & 3 dips and was SO disappointed. The 3 previous times Id been there the food was great. But today they had very little meat & barely any cheese, the tacos seemed not as dark in color or even crispy. I mean, like, at 11:30 am & at $45.00 youd think youd get a full taco. Theyre definitely worth the money when theyre made correctly. Also, the drastic change in taste & quanity in a short amount of time, tells me its questionable day to day on what youll actually get. I called and was told a manger would reach out and never heard from anyone. I was embarrassed that my family couldnt enjoy their meal. Maybe, it was a fluke or they were extremely busy, but not acceptable. Also a return phone call from management would have been appreciated. Dont get me wrong when properly made, they are delicious. Unfortunately, i will not be returning.

2022-07-27Gorgeous venue and friendly staff. The food was just not my favorite. We ordered 3 different entrees + an appetizer and they all kind of tasted the same. But a great stop if you like birria!
