HobbyTown in other cities:
Great customer service. We originally went in there to see what types of Legos they had. We ended up getting schooled on various other hobbies and crafts that are sold at the store. We were introduced to Ugears and Rokr mechanical gear wooden puzzles. They are awesome, fun and easy to put together. Were going back for more. They also sell metal 3D puzzles which we are working our way up to getting. We checked their prices against Amazon and their prices are equal. I would rather go to a store and support a local business and get my stuff that very minute so I can start working on my project.
I bought an Arrma Typhon 6s and they sold me to 3S batteries that fit in the battery tray as expected but when I got home I tried to put the body on and they wouldnt fit. I brought it back all three staff members and the manager were shocked to see that the body wouldnt go back on. Thankfully they refunded me, but unfortunately they didnt have a 6s battery in stock so Ill have to shop elsewhere. Nonetheless good customer service.
I have never in my life seen such an angry and rude employee. That guy just caused the owner to lose out on thousands of dollars that I and my family would have spent there. We was trying to support the local small business. But I will not support this place now. However, I will go support the Hobby Shop across town at cyclone hobbies. They have smiles on their faces and you feel welcomed into their store. They will happily let you spend money in their store.
Super sad Ive grown up going to HobbyTown and frequently drive 50 minutes just to come here because in store availability is always good however today was the second time I had the displeasure of working with Chris.Immediately after kindly asking for help he greets me with rudeness and gives attitude every time you ask him to check a part number. Its sad that after waiting all week to make this purchase I drive out to HobbyTown only to leave empty handed not because they sold it but because theyre employee is rude.So I left empty handed and will wait for shipping from an online retailer.
I drove 40 minutes to spend $1000+ on an XMAXX truck and battery’s and was told they can’t open the box till I buy it. I want to see the size difference between it and the E Revo to make sure which one I wanted but came to buy. So they wanted to sell me a box for a $1000 they we could look at it after paid. So much for supporting your local hobby shop.
Dan in the rc department is very knowledgeable and helpful, got my new esc. for my no name project boat set up with new bullet conectors, a ec5 conector and set the acceleration curve...Boat ran great on 3s batteries but as soon as I want to 6s it shot the prop shaft out the rear of boat...Got to get another one...
Had reservations about HobbyTown after reading some of the reviews but had to experience it myself. I have been an avid hobbyist since my conception and had a very pleasing experience here. Will DEFINATELY GO BACK!!!!!! True that i came armed with the part numbers i needed but was immediately greeted and helped. I dont know who the jerk is that seems to be the subject of everyones bad reviews but i obviously didnt get to meet him. Will recommend this place to anyone who is serious about being a hobbyist !!!!
Guy who runs the RC car department has no clue what he is doing. I came in to get a gear, had the part number. He told me that was not for my car and pulled a different gear out. I told him that one would not line up with mine because the spacing was different. He swore up and down that it was the right one. Get home and its not even close to the right one and the one I need is the one he kept telling me was the wrong one. Wont be going back for anything RC related.
I have visited this Hobby Town a couple of times now and its ok. Sometimes its ok and then others times not so much. I dont know why its like that but Ive gone to other hobby stores here recently that have been more consistent and more friendly. So I would say give it a chance but research if you can on what you need before coming here. I would recommend either going to Tom Thumbs hobby shop or Hobbyland. Thankyou for reading this and have a good yall. Stay safe, 😊😊
There is an employee at this store that is incredibly rude. We drove 45 minutes to go to this hobby shop with the intent to purchase and left with nothing due to the incredibly disrespectful employee. He was rude to every customer before us, and our experience was no different. People clamor to support local, but this employee just drove our business online.
I went by the store several times knowing one day I will go inside. When I did I would with my daughter and the gentleman behind the counter was so helpful. He even try to upset last witch I really enjoy. He knew everything about the store and all products on Shea on Nellis to say we still ball hit was a great store in the Great experience you should try it
Update.... dont know if whoever answered that day was having a bad day or what but the other guys working in there were awesome great selection of rc stuff and a back room for whoop racing and also rc rock crawling all in all going in vs calling was worth it. thanks COREY for all your help and knowledge.Called in to get info on a drone to see if It was instock and if not when it will be back instock and the guy on the phone seemed to not even want to be there and didnt care a customer was calling in to possibly make a purchase wont be spending money at this place online shopping it is.
Took my boys here to get started in rc airplanes. The guys were overjoyed with young interest in the hobby and fully of a lot of good info you cant get from wTching a video and reading a blog. Stuff you only learn buy talking to those who have been there. Awesome place. Love to support mom and pop shops. You just cant buy this kinda of service.
Worst experience buying an rc car! Bought it for my son brought it home charged battery didn’t even last 5 min. Called the store to explain then as I’m talking get an attitude from the worker an he hangs up as I’m talking an won’t answer the phone. This is a joke an horrible customer service!!! I will never purchase from them again.
So I would not recommend going there Bc there service’s the man back in the ex department is the rudest man I’ve ever met. When 4 grownups and a child under 6 go in about parts for a truck he then stated that all the dc companies have been bought out when the truck company my brother has it just to expensive for them to buy and sell.
Hobby town is the best option if you want people that know what theyre talking about to help you with your individual hobby. They are more than happy to go above and beyond to give you tips and pointers. I love that theyre more concerned about helping you than just making a sale. Very friendly people. Highly recommended
Im from out of town and just happened to be in town for a conference. I got to the store 25 minutes before they closed. I went to the rc parts counter to ask for a couple small parts. When I asked for a clutch bell the clerk instantly said nope we dont have any. Ok I had another question about an esc, he said he couldnt do anything without a part number. I said well Im pretty sure Ive got a picture of the part number on my phone, he replied that I better hurry up because they were going thi be closing soon. He was very rude and about as helpful as a shoe full of poo. I knew they closed at 8 oclock he didnt need to remind me. It was still 15 min till. If they dont want to help a customer after 7:30 then maybe they should close then. Or better yet just dont even open the store, the guy just had a real poor attitude and he really ticked me off, totally unnecessary. I wont go back there period.
Great place! Has a good assortment of just about every type of hobby that involves toys or the more expensive next step up hobby class. From trains to model cars, to rc cars to model rockets the slection is wide. The guy in the hobby class rc car area is really helpful and willing to answer questions even when super busy. Just dropped my sons rc car off to be fixed and mine to be upgraded. Cant wait to pick them up and do some rippin and bashing. Guy does a great job with what doesnt seem like much help.
I just want to recognize and thank the staff at HobbyTown, particularly Corey and Adam, for their help and expertise. As a newbie to rc flying I crashed and burned on my first flight. After I called several hobby stores, Adam at HobbyTown said, Come in - we will help you fix it or fix it for you, but we will be able to help you get it flying again. Cory did get my plane back together again and explained what he was doing as he did it. Thanks guys, and Ill be back to purchase the supplies and equipment I will need in the future and for the advice I am sure I will need.
Got the worst costumer service. Guy came in with an attitude and kept acting like my new 200 dollar motor I got from u mind you would not work and the transmission would not run and they dont make one . So I am to believe they make a motor and not a transmission for it . Never will I spend my money their or tell someone to go to their store
Was in there for at least 15min looking around. I was looking for Proline paint and walked around the paint section quite a few times and the. Walked around the store a few times. Made eye contact with each of the 3 employees and nobody said anything, not even hello. My husband and I each walked around different areas looking at stuff. Not acknowledged at all. Guess you didnt want my business.
Was ok. A little dusty and dirty. Some models had alot of dust on them. You could write in the dust on the shelfs, no I didnt do that. Could not remember how long they said they had been there. Alot of the items didnt have prices on them or the shelf. When we asked how much a small can of paint was we were told around $4.99 I think . But very expensive. I think the least expensive model we saw was $30.00. Gentlemen at the cashier counter was trying to tell us why, he said it was because when the oil prices went up a few years ago, the prices of the models went up. When the oil prices came down the prices of models never did I cant believe that it just sounds wrong and made up. Dont know if we will go back or not.
Extremely knowledgable people. Time to talk to everyone who has questions.Whether its RC cars, planes or boats they have the kits and the pieces you need.Plastice models and modeling materials.Kids games and things to get them interested in things they can do with their minds and hands. They have it.
If you expect basic customer service you have already went wrong called to see if they had something in stock guess what they dont know or care how to answer a phone or the machine so then since i was a few miles from there figured stop by well shocker the shelf where the fuel i was looking for and as informed by the website to call to check availability takes a bit of genuis right there to miss the major snafu even the old timer running the counter acted like i was disrupting his nap could care less way to earn or keep customers guess what in a time where people buy everything online obviously the staff here feels like you should too
Save your money! Dont expect any customer service. The guys that work there are super rude, disrespectful of their distributors and have terrible inventory. Dont bother calling and asking either because they dont tell the truth about what they have in stock anyway. Go ahead and just go directly to E-flite or Horizon Hobbies.

2022-07-28Great selection of plastic models, and model supplies. Was asked about every 5 minutes if I needed any help. I understand why, its just a little off-putting though.

2021-11-01This could’ve easily been a five star review but the person behind the counter was ridiculous. Was not able to make it in to return unopened items until the 16th day. I have no use for these items and they would not return them. Now I’m stuck with it. Brand new never opened most companies would allow a return with a receipt(which I have) but not this company. Will not do business with again. The smoke stack is much better with their customers. That’s where I recommend anyone to go to. Stay away from here
