Hidden Lake Apartments in other cities:
Updated: I really enjoyed living here when it was owned by JVM. Since the new company (Banyan living) has taken over, I’ve been disappointed. My lease expires in August and I opted not to renew. I’ve had consistent issues with maintenance responding to work requests, though they were awesome about responding to an emergency when my water heater flooded the front of my apartment. There are amenities, but I think the rent is too expensive for what you get. The apartments are beautiful, and neighbors are quiet for the most part, but the pool has consistently been out of order this summer and rent was not adjusted during COVID for lack of amenity access (though I understand everything had to be closed, we still were paying the premium). When the new company took over, gaudy advertisement signs ran the length of the driveway and entrance. I’ve only had a couple interactions with the office staff, but overall they seem to be fairly pleasant. We’ll see how the move-out process goes. Overall, I think Hidden Lake is 3 stars. Definitely more expensive than other places you can find, but set back in a quiet area. I hope the new property management company adjusts a little, because I really really loved living here when JVM owned it!Great amenities, friendly staff, and maintenance that is responsive and friendly with whatever needs arise. I love that this is a pet friendly community! However, dogs do bark, so if you’re interested in total silence all the time this may not be the community for you. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to live here!
I lived at Hidden Lake for 3 years, and it was a great place to live. I lived on the 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings and had an awesome balcony overlooking one of the ponds. I loved sitting on the balcony and enjoying the sounds of nature any chance I got. The apartment was spacious and well laid out. I really enjoyed living there! The staff is awesome, and are always willing to help!
Where to begin-Firstly- management and staff changes monthly. Current staff seems under qualified to operate anything, or interact with people. They are rude, and unprofessional. When entering the building you are suppose to have an appointment currently and have on a mask, the “property manager” did not.Secondly- maintenance, property care and over cleanliness of outside space is poorly kept. Nails in my tire twice in a three week span. Trash liters the parking lot and grass regularly. And if you do by chance have someone mow they will leave a pile of grass on your car, sidewalk and everywhere else.Third- rent increase within the first year living there. Even though, most amenities have been closed- not just due to COVID but due to lack of maintaining them. The apartments are covered in spider webs, trash and algae from lack of care as well, yet they want more money.Fourth- pool was closed for two+ months, with little to no explanation beyond we are working on it, and they closed the pool deck because why not?!Fifth- you give move out notice with two/three month notice, they still will charge you rent even when someone else is moving into the apartment 7 days later!Sixth- safety, they don’t care. They let 4+ grown adults live in a tiny apartment, screaming/partying, driving recklessly- it’s all good. A corporate company rents here, therefore anything goes.Seventh- when I moved in, my place was disgusting, like it had never been cleaned! Check to make sure they clean your place before you move in....I’m sure there is more but honestly, if that’s not enough to make you not want to move in... good luck
The pool has been closed for nearly the entire year (2020). They keep blaming it on maintenance issues and somehow are managing to take over a month to fix one part. When I called them to ask for a reduction in rent since the amenities are not available for use, they give the response that our (over $1,000 a month) rent doesnt include the facilities on the property. They have been promising to power wash the buildings for over a year now and almost never mow the dog park. The grounds in general have gone downhill since the new management company took over. Weeds everywhere. The buildings are covered in algae. They seem to have no urgency in taking care of the property that many people call home. It’s a shame because this place was AWESOME before Banyan Living came in last year.P.S. They will probably comment that they have no record of me being a resident here, but I have lived here for nearly 2 years now.
I moved into Hidden Lake about a year ago and, at first, it was an amazing place to live. Then a new property management company called Banyan Living took over (seriously google them and read their reviews) and it turned into a nightmare. The staff they brought in is beyond rude and could care less about the residents. They placed 15 obnoxious yard signs right when you pull in that look terrible. Its embarrassing to have visitors over that ask why the front of the property looks that way. The clubhouse, that use to be free to rent, they now want to charge $400 to rent (what a joke). They use a payment system (rentcafe) that charges you a $1.95 convenience fee no matter how you pay (which is a violation of contract but not worth the legal costs). So add $2 bucks on top of whatever rent they quote you. Myself and many residents are waiting until the day we can move out. Sad that such a nice place can be ruined so quickly by bad management.
Moved out May 1st with a 1 week notice. Still required to pay rent the next 60 days. Thats understandable. I had 2 high value packages delivered to the door during the month of May which disappeared and Hidden Lake claims they know nothing about (never had a package go missing the entire 15 months I lived there). I also had a package delivered to the mailbox that somehow got past USPS change of address. Called the office and Alyssa told me to come grab the mailbox key and pick it up. That sounded great. Got to the office and Lynn told me its a federal offense to give me my mail and she cant help me. So even though I am still paying rent im being refused my mail. Thanks Hidden Lake!Edit 6/10. In response to not being a current resident. Legally as long as I am paying rent I am considered a resident. That would mean you denied a resident their mail. Not only is that unethical but is a breach of contract and illegal. To any potential future resident reading... stay far away. There are way better options for your money.
Hidden Lake is a great place to live. The staff is helpful, the location is perfect, and the rooms are a great size! They provide a 24 hour fitness center, a pool, grilling areas, easy access to hike and bike trails, and nice views of the lake! It’s been a wonderful experience living at Hidden Lake!
If you dont like sleep, stepping in dog crap, and dont believe in common courtesy, this is the place for you! I stayed with a friend that lives here and I awoke to what felt like an earthquake everyday. Nothing like paying almost $1000/month in rent and having to leave and go sleep elsewhere. Ill keep my apartment in the middle of downtown Cleveland. Much more peaceful!
Fix this property and the awful management. Use a weed eater and tend to the mulch beds. Also the buildings are covered in cobwebs and algae. The lights on the exterior nearly all flicker and the new “tenants” are a corporate outfit that would rather destroy a nice neighborhood.
The management team do need some training for customer service and two way communication. When customers speak about the inconvenience, they have to listen with empathy and respond in time. They are very good at collecting monthly rent and fines but are terrible to follow-up with the clients needs and request. I felt terrible each time to visit the office to ask any types of questions related to my apartment unit.
They took 150 application fee without checking the approval, then few days they were asking 1000 deposit! The lady who work in the office told me the money will be back in two weeks now it’s a month I’m trying to reach them they are giving different excuses. What kind of theft is this!!

2022-04-24Love living here. Its the little things that matter. John Conner, the maintenance man s terrific. I recently found a wallet in the workout room and on his day off, John went out of the way to track the owner down. He pays as much attention to detail on the apartments as he does the people living there. I so appreciate him.

2022-03-04While this was a great place to live, the property is run horribly. The maintenance technicians are alcoholics and constantly drink on the job. Their work is sloppy and they’ve been seen by residents driving company golf carts while intoxicated on the property. The property manager is a massive push over who seems to be incapable of holding anyone accountable. The units and property itself is lovely, but the employees were beyond insufferable.

2021-04-24I have lived at Hidden Lake apartments for almost 3 years now. I dont normally write reviews, but felt the need to regarding this establishment. It has been an absolute joy to live here and would do it all over again if I had the choice. The management is very dependable and takes care of our needs when asked. John, the maintenance supervisor is always there to assist you when something needs fixing in your apartment. Its family friendly and quiet. You dont have to worry about your neighbors as everyone here is respectful and considerate. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment complex for anyone looking for a nice quality place.

2021-10-06I recently worked with Makela at Hidden Lake and she was so helpful and patient with me. I wanted a specific location, date and it worked out perfectly, I really like my apartment and enjoy living here even though it’s only been a couple weeks. I felt she was always there for me when I had concerns and she made the renting, moving process a very good experience. I recommend working with Makela 100 percent! She is a pleasure to work with!Happy Hidden Lake Tenant,Ann C

2021-10-07This is by far the best place to live in stow. I have had the pleasure of working with the Alyssa and Makela they are extremely professional and polite. They are both very intelligent and very quick with anything you may need. From the units all the way to the clubhouse its just a beautiful property. I would recommend time and time again.

2021-10-20The move in process was easy and felt genuinely cared about by the staff. The apartment is wonderful and quiet. Love the proximity to path, parks and groceries. I needed maintenance for a minor issue snd they responded quickly. Thanks again

2021-09-08Personally I would tell anyone considering this apartment community to go elsewhere. The pool and gym are nice but the actual apartment units aren’t good quality. The walls and floors are thin so you hear your neighbors every step and stomp, you constantly hear everyone going up and down the stairs. For the price of rent this place is not worth it!

2021-06-01Love the style of my apartment, closeness to the trail, pool & workout room! The staff has been pretty nice as well. Having to walk so far to take the trash out, dealing with the geese, price of a garage space and the large unexpected rent increase during a pandemic definitely takes the entire experience down for me. Before moving in- know that you’ll be paying trash, water & sewer plus a service fee in addition to your rent and other utilities (gas & electric). It’s a nice place to live but the cost of everything quickly adds up!

2020-02-19I loved living at Hidden lakes. The scenery from my third bedroom apartment was beautiful. I loved using my fireplace on the cold winter evenings. My apartment was so quiet sometimes I forgot anyone else lived there. I will miss the close proximity to the bike and hike path. The staff at hidden lakes were always so kind and helpful. A great experience.

2020-03-06I dont even know where to start, Hidden Lakes is a great place to live! They have amazing modern designs, great kitchens with amazing appliances, and more than enough storage space. And it doesnt stop with the apartment itself! They offer a great workout center, an awesome clubhouse to shoot some pool or just relax, a fire pit to hangout by on those cool summer nights, a great pool area to swim or grill out, its connected to the bike trail(one of my personal favorites), a place to wash your car, and a place to wash your dog after they play in the dog park where there is always other dogs for them to play with. I couldnt ask for anything more out of this place! Everyone here is extremely friendly and the management staff even throws partys and events so you can get to know your neighbors. Hidden Lakes is the place to be!
