Darnell was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He came when he said he would and did an excellent job. Highly recommend. At first, I was leery because I saw a boarded up building on Google Maps as their place of business. But happily, I can attest to the fact that they are legitimate, quality professionals. I would use them again. Very professional.
The installation of my new furnace was handled quickly and efficiently with the staff being quite knowledgeable and courteous. A couple of issues that came about were remedied with a quick response and completed to my satisfaction. I would not have a problem using them in the future. They are Good Neighbors!
I was very impressed with the service I received from Darnell today. He answered all my questions and explained what I thought was a problem but that I was just needing to get used to the new furnace that was just installed. Darnell took time to take pictures and show me as he gave the explanation. I HIGHLY recommend this company and hope you get to work with Darnell!!
Darnell very helpful & pro. He got our furnace working properly in no time. He showed up on time & also gave us helpful info so this problem wouldn’t happen again. Darnell is the only tech that I’ve ever seen check,2x check, then 3x check that he fixed our problem. Most techs for any problem I’ve ever had with my home are 1 & done
Where do I start.....we called them to service our furnace because the usual person who does it was buried in work. They came out while my wife was there, she was in another room while they were working on it. The tech called her into the room, showed her a picture of our furnace. To her the heat exchanger was cracked. It he would light the furnace, we would die of carbon monoxide. He said a salesman would be out that night. Salesman comes out, and pushes a new furnace for 7000. We agree to it and sign the finance papers. The next day our friend calls. Says hell be out to look at our furnace. My wife explains what happened the day before. He tells my wife. Dont do a thing, ill be right over He looks our furnace over, cleans the flame bar, lights it. And says its just fine. This company is known for showing you a picture like that then selling you a new furnace. I was furious!!! I called the owner that day to cancel the furnace, told him why Im canceling it. He said he was going to bill me a 10% restocking fee. Needless to say..that did not set well with me. So be careful. This place will lie, cheat, and steal!!!!
ScaryRon came out to check my furnace through dominion. He claims to be the owner. He then claims he found a “crack” in my heat exchanger. The unit is getting old, so I didn’t completely doubt his diagnosis. He then rushes Bob “the salesman” to my house. That’s when the real problems started. Bob started his “sales” pitch. Ten minutes in Bob starts making, what I thought to be, very inappropriate comments about my teenaged daughter. And some very scary observations about her also. He was immediately told to leave. We called in a reputable company that DID NOT find a crack but we replaced the air and furnace with them.
My place is warm and toasty thanks to my very kind, courteous service man. Darnellwas fast and very proficient. His diagnosis was precise. Its so refreshing to have pleasant and efficient people in the work place. Thank you Darnell for being such a great person and thank you Hey Neighbor for having such a good person on staff.
I was having an issue with the A.C in one of my rental units. Even though, the home warranty covered it, the first technician who showed up wont even take a look and was rude to me and my elderly tenant. I called hey neighbor and they went above and beyond to take care of the A.C issue and the unprofessional employee. They very next day, not only they sent out their best technician, I also received a fruit arrangement with cupcakes. They will be my first call in the future.
Their personal attention to those little joys in life is what will make us customers for life. Our air conditioner quit working and I called on a Wednesday at noon. Ron was at my door by 1:30 that same day. We chose to replace our 23 year old AC unit and move the new unit to another location outside our home. That service was done just 2 days later. The 2 gentlemen spent just a few hours removing, rearranging pipes, and installing the new unit. But here is the BEST part. During a conversation with Ron on Wednesday, we told him that our 10 year old autistic son loved to take apart old electronics to see how they worked. We asked if it was possible to remove the motor from our old AC unit and leave it for our son. Ron did better than that. His company repairs and donates older units to local churches so he promised to bring our son a different motor from another unit. You should have seen the look on my sons face when he saw the truck drive away and leave a big beautiful AC motor for him! Words cannot express how appreciative we are that Ron and his employees took the time to locate, load and deliver a motor for a 10 year old boy. Thank you!
The technician misdiagnosed the issue with my furnace, made the repair, charged me $300. When I asked them to come back they CUT A 2 INCH HOLE IN THE SIDE OF MY FURNACE (instead of unscrewing 3 bolts to open the door) stuck a camera inside and mis-diagnosed the issue once again. Their solution to the whole was a piece of aluminum tape, which stopped sticking about 24 hours after they left.Thank goodness I got a second opinion and didnt just accept their astronomical quote for a new furnace.
Darnell went above and beyond today ensuring that his job was more than just a basic service call for my family. He took his time and made sure that all of our questions were answered and definitely went above and beyond normal customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend him as well as the company he now represents to all of my family members and Friends.
Darnell was wonderful he came out and was beyond respectful and understood our circumstances and literally got right to the job and got it done and he was very kind and patient and just all-around the type of guy you would want to work on your furnace or anything in your home. Definitely will be a repeat Customer and will request Darnell if he’s available LOL seem to be a wonderful company
They charged us over $700 on the initial service call. The furnace worked for maybe a month. I call them back out because the work was supposed to be under warranty. It was not as they stated and they charged us another $222. So we are nearly $1000 into it and we dont know if the furnace is going to last a day, a week or a month. Also, they charge a ridiculous percentage (6%) of your bill if you pay with a bank card. I would recommend going with another company.
They installed new furnace/ac 5 months ago, serviced two weeks ago and not working again - 57 in my home. Called two times in past 2 1/2 hours cant say if theyll be out, now not answering phone. It turns out there was a medical emergency and came out the next day albeit later than promised. Better communication is needed.
Matt is the man.. Thx God Matt came & save the day we have been freezn without any hope until Matt came..God mustve just been in the plan because what we were told nothing regarding a blower motor.. we were told by the first gentlemen it was a blower motor and it was not. Matt went throw n checked and found it was nothing but our dirty filters really dirty he cleaned both filter reincerted them N magic we got heat we have heat and we are feeling so blessed happy & thankful.💪🏾💯 THANK YOU MATT OUR REAL HERo
I would NEVER recomend hey neighbor Heating and Cooling anyone. I made an appointment for a simple tune-up back on June 7th and the earliest appointment was a month from then. I understood with it being summer and all that they were busy so I took the appointment. The day they were supposed to show up I got a phone call an hour before theyre supposed to arrive stating they had to cancel the appointment. When I asked why they said they had too many emergency calls and had to reschedule for the following week. This upset me because I had taken off work for the tune up. The following week I get a phone call the day before the tune up stating they had to cancel the appointment again and the earliest appointment wasnt until mid-august which would be over two months from the first time I called. When I told the guy on the phone that was upset about having to cancel again his response was Im just doing what Im told. Its very unprofessional for any company to constantly cancel and reschedule appointments.
Called multiple times to get an estimate for central air. Nobody has gotten back to us, so I guess business is not very important to them.Edit: After they finally got back to us (only because we left this review) they said they would try to beat a competitors price and get back to me which again never happened. We went with someone else. Previous review is not inaccurate. I never promised anything, I said I would try to take the review down but it should have never been brought up in the first place. Asking people to take down an honest review of your company really shows the companies true colors.
Thats my puppy. Ron Jr helped us more than I have the ability to explain. Outstanding service and a 100% recommendation. A puppy found his way into a cold air return vent that wasnt fully closed and he interrupted his day to come rescue it.Who does that? Ron the furnace guy Thank you .
New furnace and air conditioner installed this summer. Furnace stopped working overnight. Tried calling the 877 number. If it answered, just got a message to call the office. Called the office and got the same message. Couldnt leave a message as their voicemail was full. Tried calling the salesman (still had his cell number). No answer and voicemail was full. Tried texting, but no response. Tried to use their on-line service scheduling, but still havent had an acknowledgement that they are ever going to come. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. To get no response is beyond frustrating.
I was price gouged! Home Serve warranty company had sent this company out. I waited a week! Tech gets there and purports to put 4lbs of refrigerant in the AC...I have no way of knowing how much was put in.anyway - he tells me it will be $150 per pound (and this is after they couldnt quote me over the phone - said the tech had the pricing, the office didnt). I had no choice but to let him put the refrigerant in because I had guests coming the following day and the house was an OVEN.After he left I called 3 companies and they said their pricing per pound was $60, $90, and the 3rd was $90.Run from this company and dont let Home Serve send them out to you.
We called Ron the Furnace Man with a very unusual problem. One of our puppies got down into a cold air return duct and he was stuck :(We called several 24-hour emergency service heating and air conditioning places and could not find anyone to immediately come out to retrieve the puppy. Everyone was super busy and did not have the time to help us.Ron Jr immediately put his day on hold to rescue the puppy. The kindness and compassion he showed still makes me cry as I am typing this review. I am extremely thankful and I appreciate Ron Jr. The brown puppy in the picture was rescued by Ron Jr.Thank you!!!
I have a warranty through dominion for furnace repair furnace went out on mar 2nd. dominion sent hey neighbor man came at 1230 said it needed a new part would call on mar 4th. never called that day office person said he would call on status of part onmarch 5th. 30 degrees outside still no heat would not return calls finally on march 5th a lady told me they were waiting for a part coming on monday march 9th 1 week no heat i called a local company miller heating he was here in 20 minutes went and got part 20 minutes away had heat in one hour do not use hey neighbor
Had an appointment scheduled from 4-8pm. At 9:30 I called them to see if they were still coming. At 10:21pm I received a call stating they would not be coming but would “squeeze” me in the next morning. FF to the following morning. No call no show. I called them at 1:28pm to see if they were coming. They scheduled me for 4-7pm. FF later that day, the guy finally shows up at 7:42pm. He went to the unit and hooked up the gas tester and said yep your low on gas. I was working with my home warranty so I had to call them regarding the claim. The guy from this company leaned up against my unit for 30 mins and talked about his 500k cars he has including a Harry Potter “million” dollar car LOL. Because he had to wait he charged me an additional $98. He left with $175 and no resolve. My warranty company reviewed the claim with him afterwards via 3 way call (can’t believe he answered). That was fine. I called him back after the 3 way call to gather more information and to get a resolve. He told me at 8:45pm that he was beginning his next call and would call me back in 10 min. MIND YOU THIS WAS RON HIMSELF (THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY). Anyways I texted him at 10:30pm and told him to just call me in the am. This was Thursday. It’s now Sunday night and still no call or text. Anyways, my furnace is getting replaced and certainly not by this guy/company. ZERO customer Service and can care less about you, the customer. A RIP OFF to say the least. Thanks for nothing. I would give zero stars if I could. The company that IS replacing my AC unit even told me “Oh boy, I’ve heard horror stories about that guy. I feel sorry for you that you had that experience”. UNBELIEVABLE. Call somebody else, ANYONE ELSE!
Was scheduled appointment 4-7pm, at 7:30 i calld & was told Id probably be seen at 9:30...syke! Im goin to bed. If I wasnt seen the first time I scheduled a visit will the next real visit be free since I sat here and waited a week for nothing? Guess Ill just get an air conditioner, it was my first instinct anyway.
Ron said i needed a new motor.Unfortunately the part stores were closed on Saturday. He came back on Monday and put in the new motor quickly. He was very resposive when i called and he called me back when i missed his first call. And he was there at the time he said he would be.Thank you.
I chose hey neighbor because of their 5star reviews and they did not disappoint! I forget who I talked to on the phone, but long story short, he recognized there was moisture in my gas meter and there was nothing wrong with my furnace over the phone. He saved me money by not coming out and saved himself time for something that simple.I am very impressed and if I do have actual furnace issues in the future, theyll be my go to company.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this Mickey Mouse operation! I wish I would have. I worked with a relative of a salesman who referred me to this business. Bob came to my house and advised me I needed a new furnace and to call the office to schedule. They were to arrive on a Monday in December. We had no heat and were desperate. We at least had a wood burner that did an amazing job. I took off work and the office called stating the installer had a family emergency and couldnt be there that day, but would be there the next day. Understood-those things happen. The following day, two men arrived and went to work. One was wiring the thermostat and the other installing the furnace. After about 90 minutes, I could hear the older yelling at the younger to wire it correctly and that he was ignorant. About an hour later, both came and said they werent the normal installer and that they could not finish the job and the regular installer would be there the following day. I took off a THIRD day and the installer arrived, went to the basement and stated that he didnt have the right parts and it would be too late to start the job after he went to the parts store. I took off a FOURTH day. They arrived and installed the furnace. After it was completed, he advised me about the thermostat and furnace and informed that I would need to plug in the condensate pump when I turned on the air conditioner in summer. When summer came, there was no cold air. We called. They stated we needed to do a start up and it was Memorial Day so they would be there tomorrow. My wife took off work and no show. She called and they said they hadnt been informed by whomever took the call the day prior, but they would be out there the following day. I took that day off-no call/no show. She called and they said they would be there the next day between 9-12. I took off half a day from work. At 1130 the next day, we called and were told that the tech was coming from Atwater and would be there in about twenty minutes. An HOUR later, a young man and apologized he was late because he had to come from Streetsboro. He looked at the system and said he could not start it up because it was not responding to his adjustments. I contacted the salesman who came back to the house-another half day missed from work. The condensate pump should not have to be plugged in -it should be wired. The heat pump hadnt worked ALL winter which is why our electric bills were astronomical. He said it could be done until the temp reached 50 degrees. But later said the pump should have been working all winter. When I said that he mentioned 50 degrees, he said thats correct--basically, whos on first conversation where he did nothing but talk in circles. He advised that we should have told the company we needed a start up because they sent someone who didnt know how. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A STARTUP when I called! I also said that I had a friend who used to install for another company, look at the system and apologize for being taken for a ride. The salesman stated, Thats a bitter competitor-we stab each other in the back when we dont get the job. Thats what we do. After the meaningless discussion of him talking in circles and trying to smooth it all out, he said he would have someone come on Monday as this was a Friday and he would give us a few filters for our trouble. Monday-no call/no show. I took off work. Tuesday morning my wife called and was told that they would be out that afternoon. Again I took half day-they did not come. I called and my wife called. Wednesday, they came and wired the condensate pump and got the system started up. There are places where there is putty in a 3/4 inch gap! I realize I have an old farm house which is why I thought nothing about having to plug in a pump-or make concessions for tape and putty. He said if we have any other issues, it may need to be rewired for fall and that I am to call if it is not working right. So I can miss another 10 DAYS of work?
This company is less-than-professional. After numerous phone calls, and excuses, and more excuses, our HVAC system is not fixed - after 4 WEEKS OF RECORD-BREAKING HEAT. From Ron the owner, all the way down to those answering the phone, they lack the professionalism to schedule correctly, do as they promised and show up on time. No wonder the good people from this company leave and start their own business. Any other business can do MUCH better in both quality and customer service. Ron - maybe its time for you and your company to retire - because you behave as though youre working p/t.
I had HVAC tune ups on 3 properties in the same day by this company. Never saw a tune up that they did not clean with a shop vac. Tech ran some electrical checks and checked temperatures. All 3 locations were given a clean bill of health. BUT, literally hours into the heating system one of the furnaces failed. Yes the furnace had not ran even for a few hours total and it stopped running after being checked out. I called them to fix it and despite having had their tune-up they could not assist me withrepair for 2 days. My tenants could not go 2 days without heat so I called another company and they were there the next morning and found the problem and fixed it. The tech that fixed it laughed when he saw the sticker that it had just had a tune-up. Go elsewhere!

2022-01-05Darnell was very professional and courteous. He found the issue, fixed it and made sure he tested it repeatedly before he left. This was by far the best furnace repair experience I have ever had. I cannot recommend him enough.

2022-04-25CANTON, OHHIGHLY recommend!Long-story short: I had an issue with my AC not cooling my home and running for over 20 hours straight... Darnell to the rescue! From the front-door to departure, Darnell was fantastic! He was considerate of my home and property during his visit, he was very thorough during his diagnostics making certain that I wouldnt need a return visit (until it was time for a preventative service call) and he even took the time to explain what he was doing so I understood what I was paying for at the end of the service call.We discovered my system had no coolant. Rather than simply topping it off and leaving, Darnell took the time to make sure I also didnt have any leaks by checking the entire system both under pressure and vacuum. The owner was very pleasant when I spoke with them on the phone and scheduling was (luckily) same day.

2022-04-01Repairman overlooked the obvious problem in the furnace. Had a limit switch that was showing rusty condition from a leaking exhaust pipe. It was right in front of cabinet. He ignored the unit completely. Seem to me that they were more interest in putting in a new furnace than doing a simple repair.

2022-06-13Darnell, (Service Technician for “Hey, Neighbor”) offered a second opinion on a furnace issue. The first company that came out gave me a bad vibe. Thank goodness I listened to the little voice in my head and reached out to “Hey, Neighbor”.Darnell explained the issue and how it could be remedied in terms easy for me to understand. He is a courteous and patient man with a pleasant attitude.Thank you, “Hey Neighbor”, and Darnell for helping me with my furnace issue.

2022-06-01Our tech found the problem with our A/C unit quickly and he explained it to us in detail. He was very polite, and not in a hurry to leave . He showed me what he repaired when he was done with the job. His personality was excellent and he certainly is a credit to the company. We will definitely be using them again in the future. Great job !!

2022-07-30Have used this company over the years and after 21 years my Trane System finally gave out and it was time to replace it after having it checked by the Hey Neighbor owner Ron on a Sunday and at no charge by the way. The same day Bob (Also an owner) came by and we went over everything relating to the system needed and the cost of having my system replaced and even offered financing options if I cared to do that which wasnt necessary. It was decided to replace my 2.5 Ton system and go with a 3.0 Ton Trane System and upgrade the Thermostat. They were right on it and in two days the system was installed and when they say Theres Nothing Like a Trane they mean it. The system is amazing. I was given a trade in allowance for the old system and the new one was installed within three hours and as professional as you could ever imagine. The two man team did a fantastic job and were spotless. The quality of their work was first class. They even rebalanced the duct system to make sure the air was being distributed properly and totally efficient and they left the areas spotless and made sure I understood how to operate the system and had all my service manuals and paperwork all organized in a folder. The day after installation Lori from the office contacted me and also Bob to make sure everything went as planned and informed me that my new system was registered with Trane and if there was anything else they could do to just let them know. The system even came with a winter cover for my compressor to protect it from the elements with was great. Overall the experience was as good as it gets and Im completely satisfied not only with the new system but with Hey Neighbor and the great people that represent their company and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wishing or needing this service!R.P.B.

2022-02-07We woke up this morning to 22° and no heat. About 60° inside the house. I called them at 8:00am and they were here by 10:30am Determined the problems, made a parts run and had my furnace up and going by 2:30pm. I couldn’t believe that they had the motor I needed in stock locally! Responsive, professional, and the technician, Darnell, as well as the person I spoke with by phone, Jordan, were super nice! I will certainly use Hey Neighbor! again!
