Even though I had a rocky experience at first, I came to the conclusion that the employees here are following company policy. I ended up becoming really snippy with the associate for something out of his control. When I apologized, they accepted it and continued to give me great customer service! They didnt make me feel bad and they didnt become rude. Im usually not a Karen, but I definitely had a moment today. Great customer service at this location all around. Hertz policy is a little rigged and I feel like they could do better for certain circumstances.
AWFUL! My first experience with Hertz was then canceling my pickup the day of hours before because they cannot pick up at the location I had given them when I scheduled it prior. After rescheduling, when they came to pick me up they were 50 minutes late after me contacting them 3 times throughout and correcting the address to them AGAIN and then assuring me each time they were “only 3 minutes away” and had not even contacted me to let me know of the inconvenience. I will never use them again.
Mixed Feelings on Them. Thats why so far only going to give 3 stars. Ive rented from then quite a few times. Most of the times Ive rented, they were great but with my last trip and then with my upcoming rental. The experience was subpar. I got a luxury vehicle that broke down on me which caused a whole bunch of issues, not to mention I was far from home. Even cause me to miss a day of work. Thats money Im not going to get back. The replacement car they gave me was NOT a luxury vehicle just mid class. The most they would give me was an apology and took a measly $20 off the total rental. I guess better than nothing but still doesnt replace what I would have made if I hadnt of had to miss work or all the inconveniences I had to go through to get the replacement. Would have been nice to of maybe offered the $20 refund and a free upgrade the next time I rented. With my present rental which suddenly tripled in price like everything else it seems, they wouldnt honor a $25 off coupon for some excuse that isnt even listed on the coupon. Plus the lady I spoke to on the phone was very rude to me.
Fantastic customer satisfaction service. I was once given a car with seats smelled cigarette. So when I asked for an exchange as they didnt have any other cars to exchange they refunded back the entire reservation amount at the end. The second time when I booked a compact car again. They recognized me and upgraded my compact car to a full size SUV (Ford Explorer) as a compliment w.r.t the previous bad experience. I really loved their intention of keeping customers happy.
BEST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE!!! I am disabled and require a vehicle to fit a wheelchair, walker etc. So far Donnie has been very helpful and professional. He is going to try and locate a specific vehicle that will work for my situation. My rental is on August 15th so I will let you know how everything goes. Hopefully my first experience with Hertz will be a good one! I will keep you posted.UPDATE... Just got our rental car. Can’t say enough about Donnie and how smooth and great he made this experience. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the car I needed. He also personally called me ahead of time to let me know that he had secured the vehicle for me. I have used Budget in the past but they never could find a vehicle I needed, terrible customer service and even sometimes didn’t even have my class size I prepaid for and gave me one 2 sizes smaller. So I highly recommend this Hertz location and highly recommend working with Donnie. I look forward to using them again in the future!!! Thanks
DONT PAY IN ADVANCE. They gave away the vehicle my parents pre-paid for a month in advance so they could make some extra change since its spring break, guess they figured theyd NOT ONLY downgrade us but tell us tough luck on getting our money back... but hey well give you the vehicle you dont want a day early or refund you then charge you $200 more since its the day before you need it... Then get sent to customer service only to be told its an issue needed to be taken care of online...? Despicable and malicious.
I made an appointment two weeks ago to be picked up at a repair shop because I had been rear ended. I get to the shop and no car. The body shop calls and they say we will send someone over. 10-15 minutes go by and now its they are sending a Lyft to get me. This wouldnt have been a huge issue except I have two car seats that I need to pick up my kids. So I have to drive 15 minutes to the Hertz office and pick up the vehicle and then drive all the way back so I can get the carseats. To top it all off the guy at Hertz tells me there is no smoking or pets in the vehicle. Well the car smells like a ashtray and there are little white furs all over the passenger seat. Not the greatest experience.
My insurance was paying for my car rental. I received a 2018 Toyota Yaris that was not fully clean, but I was only going to be using it for a few days. The man who rented it to me was very nice, but they were obviously short staffed. The car drove horribly. Then, when I returned it, my card was charged $75 for refuel charge and pet hair detailing. No one told me. I just happened to find the charge on my card. No email receipt, nothing. Thats fine, but when asking why I was charged the refuel charge when I had just filled the tank the night before, the guy (Keith, I think) was totally rude and said, Im not going to argue with you. He was so rude. Even when answering the phone, he was rude. NEVER use them. I wont rent here again. From reading other reviews, Im not alone.
This has to be the worst car rental location I’ve ever been to. My car is in the body shop, and I arrive at this Hertz on Monday morning and there is only one woman working there, and she’s vacuuming a car for a customer waiting before me. No one else working. Really? I wait 25 minutes and I’m given the nastiest smelling disgusting car with 42k miles. At this point I’m in a hurry because I’m now late for an appointment. I can’t even drive the car without the windows down because of the disgusting smell.I end up making a reservation with my insurance company at Enterprise. I return the disgusting dirty car to Hertz within 24 hours, but I’m charged for 2 days. The manager (Keith) told me that it’s because my insurance company bills this way, and that he can’t change the charge because it’s hard coded in the system. So now it’s my insurance company’s fault?... I then tell him that the car I had should not be getting rented because it’s disguisting, and his response is that I didn’t give him a chance to make it right. Why would I trust him to make it right when they thought that renting me this nasty car was acceptable?? His response—“I have 100 cars in my fleet and can’t inspect them all.” Seriously? You’re the manager—you should absolutely be familiar with the cars in your fleet, especially the ones that should NOT be in your fleet. I also let him know that I had to wait 25 minutes for my car because there was only one woman working and she was vacuuming a car. His response—“I was picking up another customer.” This doesn’t help me much. Not the customer’s problem that they are understaffed or don’t know how to schedule staff. Advice to Keith the manager— Customer Service 101....don’t make excuses. Empathize with the customer. His lame excuses just made me more angry. Worst car rental place ever. Avoid this place and go to Enterprise in Eastgate. The experience is night and day.
My money was stolen by the Hertz company-to date they owe me a huge $200.00. In May, I called this location and asked if I was able to rent a car online using my debit card although I was under the age of 25 and I was told yes as long as I had a credit card that they could put the damage deposit on when I picked up the car. So, I booked my car online and they charged my debit card the $200 rental right away-no big deal. Fast forward to 3 weeks later whenever I go to pick up my rental car and of course they would not give it to me. The representative told me I had been previously misinformed and I would have to charge the total amount to my credit card (the cost of rental and deposit) because I was under the age of 25. She said I would get the other $200 back on my debit card no problem after I filed a claim with billing. I allowed them to charge my credit card the full amount and I didnt think anything of it. That same day that I picked up the car, I called billing and filed my first claim to get my money back. The billing department said it would be 7 to 10 business days before I got my money back in my account. Well, guess what? It is August and I still dont have my money back. I have filed several claims with billing and nothing has happened. I spoke with one representative and he said he was going to put me on some type of list where a manager called you back in 24 hours. Spoiler, the manager never did return my phone call. Hertz please find a way to fix this problem or I will continue spreading the word about how awful you guys have treated me and bullied me. I want my money back!
My Hertz experience was great! You cant beat their rates! The staff was flexible and accommodating to my situation and needs. My insurance provided for some of rental car expenses and when I needed to extend the rental on my own dime, the transition was seamless. Thanks Guys!
I had a rocky experience during my 6 day rental. Mistakes were made, and (corporate) customer service was awful about giving me any answers..... BUT the manager of this store made it right, and then some. I walked out of there happy, and grateful. He was given an awful hand, but played it to his advantage and made his customer as happy as any could be.
Disappointed. Needlessly shady dealing and zero feedback. Go to Enterprise on Ohio Pike.Id had a few pleasant experiences with this Hertz location previously. I bought a one-way rental from Cincy to NJ; they offered a great rate with no one-way fee! Nice! Add a corporate discount code, and I was set to be as happy as a camper can be when driving 10 hours cross-country.I showed up in NJ and paid $0.25/mile for 630 miles. Ouch. Turns out one should always read the fine print, and there was a mileage fee listed in my paperwork. What particularly bothered me was that the mileage estimate was a ridiculous 60 miles, despite two employees openly sympathizing with my upcoming jaunt all the way to NJ. They knew how far it was; had the actual estimate been remotely close, or any verbal mention of mileage fees been made, Id have shopped elsewhere. Hertz was cheapest with a bogus estimate -- but they didnt forget to offer all sorts of extra insurance and other goodies, of course.Worse still, the management never responded to my calls or emails. I dont rant and rave. I just wanted to be heard. Id have taken a sorry, my hands are tied but evidently didnt merit anything at all.Car also smelled like smoke. Im an active duty Air Force member and I really got a full heros welcome. Thanks, Hertz.
We showed up at 9 am to pick our reserved car and unfortunately the store was 25 minutes late opening. We were third in line waiting, so it was a little after 10 when we had our car. I can understand how some would have been very angry, but I understand that sometimes unforeseen things happen.Without asking, we were given a discount on our rate, and our trip had no car related issues.We will definitely use this location again.
Arrived with my daughter to pick up a reserved car. Was told by the male employee that he couldnt help us - his coworker would be back in 5 minutes - it was nearly 20 minutes until she returned. The interior of this business was disgusting - dead bugs on the window sills & floors, and the windows looked like they hadnt been cleaned in months.. When we went out to inspect the vehicle it was filthy both inside and out - bugs all over the grill, dirty windows, hadnt been thru a carwash, scratched and dented up. . . I asked the lady if they normally clean the cars before giving them to customers and her response was Weve been busy. My daughter had to use Hertz because it was an insurance claim. Would never recommend this Hertz location. I always use Enterprise and have never had a bad experience with them.
OMG. I had the car for only 1 day and I was not asked about fuel choices and was qouted $36/day. I used at the most 2 and 1/2 gallons of gas. I am very happy with pick up service and the personnel BUT I rented a car 11 days ago for 2 and 1/2 days and it was only 100.00. I recieved an email stating I owe $156.00. ???
The guy that works there was horrible I was there at 9am to pick up my full size car he makes me go get my other debit card for no reason then gave my car away when I got back knowing I was in a hurry then he didnt apologize just watched me cry with my 3kids another employee at least said we have a tiny car so I smashed my kids in for 14 hours they charged me same price as my full size car was supposed to be. Ive never been treated so horribly and corporate tells me this guy has tons of complaints but why does he still work there? Dont go here. Plus I am AAA premiere member and booked this on AAA.
The car I was given was damaged: front and back bumper damage as well as substantial to both doors on driver side. The car was DIRTY inside and out. The inside smelled like someone had vomited and tried to cover up the smell with Pine Sol. Not only did it sting but there were stains on the upholstery and foreign substances on the dash. The outside was covered in bugs and bird poop. When I asked the manager why the car was so dirty she said they they have been busy and did not have time to clean the car. I arrived at my arranged pick-up time and I had to wait for over 10 minutes to be helped because the manager left the store and the new hire was unsure how to help me. I would not recommend this company to anyone, it was a terrible experience all around.
Horrible customer service. I went to pick up my vehicle and waited in the lobby for thirty minutes, with no sign of anyone. I called the location from inside their lobby and no one answered the phone or even entered the lobby. I went outside to the bay area where they wash the vehicles and still not an employee in sight. I went back into the lobby and called out still no answer. This was at 11am on a Friday. I go to leave when anouther customer starts to enter. I tell him I have been there over fourty five minutes and no one is in the building. He must have known the employees because as he walks in some lady quickly moves from the back and hands him a handicap sign. I head straight back in and loudly say excuse me!. Finally the same lady came out to help me. She looked like she had been sleeping in the back. She then proceeds to say the only vehicle they had to rent was a Nissan Versa when my online registration clearly said an intermediate size vehicle. Rust Lane Hertz is not professional I will not be back.
Wonderful customer service I will continue to go back managers name is Keith and hes absolutely amazing and works with every situation Ive handed him. its the best location, with the best customer service Ive ever experienced. Thank you so much for the great customer service. This will always be my rental place!
VERY POOR SERVICE. AND THIS WAS FREE FOR ME SINCE IT WAS AN INSURANCE PAID FOR CAR WHILE MINE WAS BEING FIXED. The guy at the desk tries to put me from a 2012 Honda Accord (getting repaired) into a 2013 Ford Focus HATCHBACK! I said this is not comparable at all. He tries to tell me at-least this is brand new like I usually drive a 1988 rust bucket. I was offended all over the place. VERY DISRESPECTFUL. CAR WAS DIRTY. SAT AT THE BODY SHOP FOR 40 MINUTES BECAUSE THEY MADE AN 11AM APPOINTMENT AND TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT. THEN ONLY PICKED ME UP TO TAKE ME BACK TO THEIR OFFICE AND SIT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES!! STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ!
I rented a car from this location last week. ..the cost for the twelve was unreal. ..the service was very friendly and helpful. .Ive been to the others around cincy. (Budget enterprise etc) I have to go north later this year THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE ILL RENT FROM..thanks hertz for the 3rd GREAT experience Ill definitely be a repeat customer
I have rented from this location several times in the past year. I had a reservation for Christmas Eve for a weekly rental at noon. As a Presidents club member I received my confirmation email the day before. I showed up ten minutes early and the doors were locked and they were closed! There was a person in a car that was stuck in the mud in their parking lot and he said they had been closed for quite some time. I called customer service and after 25 minutes realized it was a call center in India that was going to do NOTHING for me hours before a family trip for christmas. I have left several messages for a resolution from the branch manager, I have filed complaints with Corporate and two weeks later have heard nothing. Just my experience!
Had a reservation scheduled for 8am. There were no cars and I was driven to the Sharonville location, which took 1.5hrs to get there and return to my home. What is the purpose of a reservation? I have to catch a flight out of Chicago this afternoon and this location may have just made me miss it.

2022-06-09Wish I could leave no stars!!!! Was sent here from Kentucky for an insurance claim. Manager told us she had no compact cars available. While waiting to pick up “lager more expensive vehicle” the manager was on the phone with new client stating that she has plenty of compact vehicles available today! While checking out the customer rep told us he would save money on the compact, the said manager told him no put her a C4 rate instead. Which charges us $11 a day. I asked why his price was different from hers? He stated because she is the manager. What a load of BS!!!!

2022-06-24I give 1 star because I have to! Dont EVER attempt to rent from them! What is written as needed to rent from them is a complete lie!!I tried to rent through my car dealership and was told what was needed. After I was dropped off, I was told the debit card had to be in my name even though I could prove my maiden name, They wanted the deposit PLUS payment for the rental. I didnt know how long I would need it so HOW could I prepay for it?? Thats ignorant!!! Then the little guy took my ID and card and slide them over the counter to me and said I cant help you. Oh, cash was NOT an option either, they dont take it!!So RUDE and unapologetic! I was fuming. And I had no way to get back to dealership until they allowed their new employee to take me back!! I let the dealership know too!! Do NOT go here!! They wont work with you and they dont even have alot of cars.!!!!

2022-05-17Had an issue with my vehicle, dealership had to keep it overnight. They sent me over with no reservation. No problem over here, my man Scott took real good care of me and got me back on the road in a hurry!

2022-06-08Have used Hertz twice (this location once). Saved a good bit of money on rental. Only drawback is Eastgate had a limited car supply when we rented. Could be different next time we need them.

2022-06-29There was an issue with the payment options and rather than allowing me to reschedule for the next day or come back later on they cancelled entirely. I make money with my vehicle and am trying to trust Hertz to help me continue while mine is down and they fell through entirely. That’s why they get the 1 star.

2021-07-19Although my rental was not ready at the reserved pickup time, the customer service rep called me 2 hours ahead of time to give me plenty of notice. The delay was through no fault of the agency, rather previous rentals were not returned in time to have mine ready. I was given an upgraded rental at no extra cost and was still able to be on the road within 2 hours of my reserved pickup time. Would definitely use again for rental vehicles.
