I am a gold card member and get to bypass the counter. There was a good selection of vehicles to choose from. The lot attendant, Shari, was very pleasant and helpful. I was very pleased with the car I chose: Nissan Altima. Great gas mileage and very comfortable. I will definitely use Hertz again.
The lady at the counter was very nice and quick to help me get to a rental car. Total time at Hertz counter less than 5 min. Thats with 2 people in line ahead of me. I am registered with Hertz for their loyalty program. It costs nothing. Then I dont hassle with credit card infor and address info. They check my ID and Im on my way. And the car? I enjoyed the Chrysler 300S. With leather int, heated seats (a must in Cleveland at 17°outside) and big gorgeous wheels. It handled well in the snow.
The young lady working at the desk today was wearing two masks and then pulled them both down and wiped her nose with her fingers and then touched a customer’s credit card. I asked to speak to the supervisor and she said she “is da supervisor” while waiving her finger at me. She’s a very gross representative of Akron Canton airport and Hertz. She smelled like weed and was spreading germs and I’m pretty sure I saw her stealing but can’t be sure.
Fast service and reliable and clean cars. There are a lot of rental companies out there, but the Hertz experience has been consistent for me in service and the charges are very straight forward so if youve read and understand the rental agreement there shouldnt be any hidden expenses at the end of your rental agreement.
Leg was bummed up after a Turkey Bowl football injury and I couldnt drive my stick shift vehicles. I went to rent a car and they were out of stock of what I had selected online mostly due to price as I was keeping the car for a few weeks. Well they gave me a 1500 Dodge Ram w/ a Hemi that was fairly decked out in terms of options at the same price as the full size car. This was awesome as the legroom alone was amazing not to mention it was a sweet ride until I could drive my cars again.
They are the rudest people I have ever met. They gave me trouble when renting a car and then, they told me since I was an AAA member the fee would be age restriction fee would be waived. So they gave me the car and everything and went I returned the car without me knowing and any reason for the charge they charged me over 100 dollars. When I called to inquire about it they answered then hung up on me and now the phone is coming up engaged. I called the customer service location and then they said it was supposed to be waived and returned the money back to me. Unprofessional people at the akron canton location. The customer service was way nicer.
Warning!: After you think you have a positive rental experience, check your credit card statement. And, when you think that a simple phone call will correct the billing.....another surprise. They will lie to the credit card company when you dispute their obvious error and attempted cover-up. Save your receipts and, eventually, someone will see what is going on.
I rent from Hertz often times several times a week.I called this location and asked about their managers special, which was still nearly 50% more than most corporate locations rate for a mid-size, C class car. They told me they try not to put Presidents Circle members in compact cars. When I arrived, the attendant in the lot was very friendly and provided great service, however, when I walked in to exchange my rental cars (I was dropping off and picking up), they gave me the worst car on the lot, perhaps the worst car Ive ever received from Hertz ever. A beat up Versa with over 40k miles on it! It smelled like smoke and was just a beat-up bucket. I asked if they had anything else and was just shoved off saying they were very short on cars.Normally Im very understanding, but due to the overpriced rate (no weekly rate at all?) and lousy car, I would go out of my way to avoid this location.
I had a reservation with Hertz but I was not aware that my drivers license had expired three day earlier. I completely understand why they could rent me a car with an expired DL but the girl at the front desk seem to take great joy in telling me I could not get a car. Here I was, stranded, on a business trip with no way to meet up with my clients. Fortunately I was able to get an Uber to my hotel. The next morning I was able to renew my DL online with my state and print a temporary license. I tried to call the airport Hertz the make sure the temporary license was acceptable but the phone line was busy for over thirty minutes. I finally called the corporate number a spoke to a representative. They said the temporary license would not be a problem. I got an Uber back to the airport to get my car but the same girl was working the desk and still refused to rent the car to me. I explained that the corporate office said this wouldnt be a problem but she still refused. She said the temporary license isnt an acceptable form of ID. I agreed but the had my military ID which IS an acceptable ID, the whole point of providing my license is to show that I am a legal driver. The girl went into the back to ask her manager ( not sure if she actually spoke to anyone) then returned saying her manager said they wont accept a temporary license. Again the attitude at this point was completely unapologetic. Im sure I could have pushed it and had them call their corporate office but I was pretty fed up and walk to Avis both right next to Hertz and rented a car with the temporary license with no issue. I have since verified on the Hertz website that a temporary license is completely acceptable. This was merely a case of piss poor customer service and a desk girl with too much attitude. Needless to say to wont be using Hertz in the future.
Easy Process getting to the Car Rental Station from the airport. Shuttles were on time and ready to go. Great Shuttle experience as well. Checking in for my vehicle was very easy. Really wanted a Chevy Cruze but I went with a Nissan Sentra since that was available. Checking the car back in was very easy also and Mr. T was very pleasant and explained how to exit the car lot back to the shuttles. Overall I enjoyed ordering my rental thru AAA and Hertz best experience. Will continue to use Hertz when I travel. Thank you so much!
Just stopped in for week long rental, was told they had 15 cars but 14 were rented out already for that week and was unable to rent me a car because they didnt want to run out and have no cars to rent. Okay, so why was it cool to tell me no then? Dont go there, they are garbage.
Was a little skeptical because of the reviews but there was a worker at the counter. I was there for 3 minutes she handed me the key and told me where the car was and said to have a safe trip. Brand new car with 6k miles on it and it was spotless. Dont shy away from this place A++
Did not start out good. Reserved a car for Saturday AM, arrived at airport at 5:15 AM, had to wait for car rental to open, at 650 attendant was sitting at the desk. Approached the desk and spoke to the attendant, letting him know I had a car reserved , refused to be of any help, he just said we open at 7 and continued visiting with another agent at Avis. Then the agent started helping another guest prior to 7AM
Rental process was easy. However, would have been nice to get the car with the 1/2 foot of snow cleaned off of it before we rented it so we could see if there was any prior damage to the vehicle. Luckily there was not. At least they left a snow brush for us to clean it off. Also, would have been nice if renting a premium or luxury car to included complimentary Onstar GPS. Also, note that if you do not sign up for their gold program or rent through AAA/AARP, you will have to pay for your spouse to drive. This should be automatic. This is the CAK Airport location!!
Great place to rent in Canton Akron. The employees are all so kind and knowledgeable, they make great recommendations dependent upon the weather as to what vehicle to choose. The cars are always rwady and waiting and very clean with new models and low miles. Anthony,Joe,Jessica and Toni always take great care of me. I rent for work all the time and wouldnt rent anywhere wlse in that area.
My young daughter drove in from out of town had already reserved a car was quoted the price upon arrival to pick up her car they decided to tell her at that moment after telling her there were no hidden fees that she needed a $200 deposit. They were unfriendly and very rude I would not advise anybody to go there!!

2022-04-16Poor business our flight was cancelled due to weather, and we called to let them know we are still coming, they agreed but when we arrived they had cancelled our car. They had no additional cars to rent. I will never use them again.

2021-03-03Needed a rental to get to Texas for a new job and Hertz was the only rental service offering under 25 rental fee waivers (I turn 25 in 3 months). Great service. Fast and more than polite manager help. Ordered a Mangers Choice online and got a Chevy Trax. Will 100% rent again. Wonderful people.

2020-06-06My go to for rentals for the past 7 years. I love when they have Ford Fusions. If I have issues theyre always very accommodating. 5 stars every time on service. And the people who help me return the car in the lot are always courteous and helpful making sure I get all of my belongings out.

2020-07-12I dont complain much about any services, but I feel its needed here. Lets go back a little where I should of complained. I rented a vehicle here and the fuel tank wasnt full I was already on the highway and didnt want to waste any time. A separate time I rented a vehicle and it smelled of cigarettes, which I didnt want the hassle of returning and being at the counter for a long time. I rent a vehicle practically every week. I got a new job a year and half ago and it requires me to get a vehicle just about every week. I have built a Presidential status in about 6 months with their gold program. So far I have 21 rentals with hertz for 2020.My last bad experience with this location came when picking up the vehicle the young lady stood there lecturing me how its unfair for an upgrade when other people request a car similar to the upgrade. All I did was ask if any upgrade was available, which there was..but made me pay 20$ a day extra. keep in mind my status is Presidential and Ive drove a BMW for an intermediate price. But I dont like arguments so I paid it anyway. Dropping off the vehicle i told them that the rear right inner tire had a little bubble. I did that in good conscious so hertz wouldnt roll the vehicle back out that could possibly injure someone. I told the guy at the counter and he immediately said we will have to charge you 167$. After a heated argument I went out to take a pic of the whole vehicle and tire because now I didnt trust them. At the car lot the guy attending there was awe struck that the counter was charging me, so he called to the front counter and said this is a normal wear and tear, and its a safety issue. Based on what I hear the lot attendee responding, Im sure a manager told him to not interfere and leave because then he had to leave. Then the manager drove to the lot and I told him to take a look at the tire, we were less then a foot away, he would not get down to see it first hand and resolve it on the spot, but instead had me fill out a form. He wouldnt even look at the tire for himself. He stated that the form was not a form stating that I am guilty of causing it. I did fill it out and guess what? They still charged me. Im a person that will pay if I know its something Ive done. but this was clearly wear and tear and was probably there before I even rented the vehicle. The vehicle has almost 30k miles. The manger stood there saying I mustve run into a pot hole, WOW. So you guys know if you rent their vehicles and if there is normal wear and tear or if the engine blows up for lack of oil... they will make you pay for it.I wont rent from Hertz at this location anymore and will minimize my rental with Hertz. Thanks to you Mr. Manager for losing a customer that uses a rental every week. By the time Im writing this Ive already rented 3 times with other places already.I do believe in whats right and wrong...so I called corporate and they immediately looked at my history and refunded the 167$ in hopes of keep their customers during difficult times. If it wasnt for Hertz choice..I would completely go with another vendor long ago.

2018-08-08New Post 4 starsUpdating the below review as the location has provided vouchers to compensate. After a stressful 3 weeks they wanted to make right. While the voucher can only be used on Hertz cars the gesture and finally seeing some empathy goes a long way. Other than this issue the location has been a pleasure to deal with.Original Post 1 start___________BEWARE!! They will steal your personal items in lost and found. Mike Cugino and his team were unprofessional, lacked customer service, and offered minimal help in helping return a lost item which was ultimately stolen by an employee.I had the unfortunate experience of leaving my expensive sunglasses in the car when returning a rental car from a work trip. After my flight home I realized I had left them, so I called the location and they found my sunglasses. I thought this was good news...until the next events unfolded. They wrote down my contact information, address, and let the manager know to call me back the next day. 3 days later no call back. When I finally called back to follow up on asking my options to get my personal item back they refused to bring them to a shipping location, even if I offered to pay for it. I proceeded to ask how to get them since I live out of state and they mentioned I had to call FedEx and they will pick them up. After calling the local FedEx locations they did not offer this service and said I need to provide a label and box. After 7 calls back to Hertz I kept asking for the manager and no one would put him on the phone as he would decline to talk. Even though Hertz said FedEx would pick up they could not offer a phone number or exact location of a FedEx that would do this. Shady!!Finally I traveled back to this location to pick up my sunglasses. I get to the counter and now they can’t find my sunglasses. It is Hertz policy to not discard or donate lost items until 30 days and this was well under the 30 day mark! All the employees act coy and the manager dodges phone calls and communication. It wasn’t until threatening to write and review and reach out to corporate that Mike, the manager, finally responded back....only to communicate that he can’t find anything. While there has been no resolution with Hertz yet I hope this serves as a word of caution when dealing with this location.
