This place is a throwback, and I love it. Not even going to try to describe the atmosphere. Just stop there some evening. I have not eaten here, but the servers are wonderful and the bar is extremely charming.UPDATE:I have now eaten there. Party of five, at the outdoor patio. We had cocktails and dinner. Our server was phenomenal, cocktails spectacular, and each of the five of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. I dare say the presence of my 21-year-old daughter and her boyfriend dropped the average age of the clientele by a solid decade, but they enjoyed it.

Prime rib and filet were delicious! Also recommend the ranch mashed potatoes. Service was excellent!!! Hidden gem! Will definitely return.

My family and I attended the Easter buffet at 3pm. There were 10 of us total. We were sat promptly and our server came over to the table immediately to take our drink order. So far, so good...I was impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. We each ordered the buffet at $31.95 per person which included non-alcoholic beverages (which is great, because we dont drink). We were all served our sodas in small plastic cups, which we drank in almost one sip, and were left to wonder if and when we would ever get a refill (FYI most of us had Coke, so bringing a pitcher would have been great). I had ginger ale, asked for a refill and never received anything. Now, on to the buffet, which sounded much better than it looked. It was being portioned out by staff (which is totally understandable), but it was cold. The mashed potatoes were real, but completely tasteless, the green beans almandine was mushy, penne with marinara was dry and clumped together, the chicken marsala was the only menu item worth eating (it was flavored very well), deviled eggs were room temperature, eggs Florentine bake was burnt on the bottom and stuck to the pan, the ham looked fine (it was just a water logged buffet ham, so pretty hard to mess up), and the prime rib was cut so thick that it was chewy and even the au jus did nothing for it. There were butter packets on our table but no rolls, biscuits, or bread of any type. My 84 year old grandmother asked for some bread and was told that the buffet doesnt come with bread, but since everyone has been asking, she will bring a few rolls, which she did, but you would think she would have brought bread for the entire table, and not make it seem like she was doing us a HUGE favor by bringing 2 rolls for my grandma lol! There were two a la carte options for dessert, carrot cake or banana cream pie, and each was $6.95. My husband and 10 year old son ordered carrot cake, and I ordered banana cream pie. The cake was dry and very small, and my pie was a blob. The server did recognize that the pie was a mess and did not charge us for it. Overall, this was the worst Easter dinner I have ever had or seen being served. At best, this should have been $19.99 person, NOT $31.95. Please take this as constructive criticism. I was really excited to have our familys holiday dinner at Hellriegels Inn this year, but sadly, we were disappointed and feel taken advantage of by this business.

Our waitress took very long to come to our table. She was also very rude. Good food though

A staple on the Eastside of Cleveland! You can just smell the history when you walk in! The prime rib dinner offers one of the largest slices of prime rib you can get and is very good! A potato and salad come with dinner along with a basket of rolls. Other menu items fare well but somethings are way overpriced. Service is ok. Atmosphere is like stepping foot in a time warp. Would recommend if you have money to spend!

A historical landmark in Painesville Ohio, a must if you visit Painesville. it has a very rich history of political rallies and dinners held here. It is well known for its prime rib of beef.

Service was great. Shell fish allergies and she asked the cooking staff if they have an option to prepare my Perch dinner. Pan fried and it was great. Thanks much

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Very basic buffet for the $29.00 price per person, would have liked to see more items. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Attended the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Dinner on December 7th, 2021. The veteran service/remembrance was respectfully administered and graciously appreciated. God bless our servicemen and women, current and veterans for allowing America the opportunity to decide, for better or worse, Her own fate. The meal, appetizers, drinks and service were greatly appreciated.
