Probably the best coffee house in Ashtabula and Geneva as well. They locally roast their coffee and it shows. The coffee is well priced and delicious. The staff are always extremely friendly and they have great hours. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping in.
Wifi📶. Excellent coffee and smoothies. Indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to study. It can be quite busy in the morning. Small step at the front door. Handicap accessible entrance in the back. Parking in the front, side, or upper back lot using the stairs. Today we both had smoothies. She had a Harbor Smoothie with strawberry 🍓, banana 🍌 and Oj 🍊. I had the Whip Smoothie with cherry 🍒, raspberry, strawberry 🍓, peach🍑, and pineapple🍍 juice. Yummy. Kelly did an excellent job making the smoothies.
If you’re worried about vegan options, don’t. The baristas were very nice to accommodate and the atmosphere was just awesome. Decorated nicely, good music, and the coffee is just great. Lots of food and pastries around for a bite to eat as well. Glad we made the stop.
This coffee shop attracts happy go lucky energy. The place was loud like a bar for most of the day, but with sober people hyped up on coffee and just cutting up and laughing. There are also couches in the back of you want more mellow experience. The bathrooms are nice and cozy.
When we were heading up to the lake for the day, we were looking for a good place to have coffee before. Harbor Perk had a 4.8 average with numerous reviews. Now I know why. The owners are passionate about what they do, and they do it well! My wife is a big coffee nut, and this place exceeded her expectations. The staff is very friendly and hard working. Well be back!
It was my first time at this coffee shop. Being a big coffee lover when I walked in the aroma of coffee just overtook me and it was such a wonderful smell. The staff was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere was very comfortable. One of the workers recommended a blend after I told him the taste of coffee I prefer and he recommended the Beulah breakfast blend and it was really really good. I also had a cranberry bagel and to my surprise it was very delicious. I wish it wasnt so far away from my home I would be there every day but I will definitely be back.A very nice first experience.
Our first time visiting here but now that we know about it we will br back. Always looking for a great cup of coffee when out riding ( face it gas station and fast food joint joe usually isnt good or fresh) The shop looks small but is rather large inside. Plenty of well spaced seating where you can have a conversation without whispering to avoid being overheard. Nice day out so we opted to sit outside on one of the benches though. Server was very polite and friendly another perk for the Harbor Perk
I grew up hating the taste of coffee and now I love it, enough said... In all seriousness, the reason I love this place so much is the kind people who work there. They are inviting, knowledgeable, and want to spread the love of coffee. We are truly blessed to have such a great business like Harbor Perk here in Ashtabula!
I had never been to Harbor Perk. I was looking for a pound of espresso beans / coffee beans to make homemade chocolate-covered treats. I called up there and the manager/ owner told me to come on down, I could taste test some beans to see what I like. They were amazing! Such awesome ladies work there! I never had their coffee and before I left they gave me a small frothy coffee on the house (Ashtabula Blend). It was the best coffee Ive had in a very long time! I was quite surprised by their hospitality and Im going back today! Highly recommend this place for coffee and great guest service =]
This coffee shop is a gem in Ashtabula. They roast their own coffee beans, so you know its fresh. Their coffee and espresso drinks are tasty and there is ample seating for you and friends. I have come here to do work or to meet with others, and have left very content every time. The staff is also really friendly. Buy some beans to go, too. Totally worth it!
I am pretty much here more than my home! The coffee is roasted there, the workers are awesome!! The environment is clean, fun, and relaxing. The coffee is unique, you wont get the same taste anywhere else. I recommend trying their Chemex , and definitely Cold Brew n the summer.
Ive been to many coffee shops in my travels for work. Not one of them have been even close to the Perk. Each employee is skilled and consistent, their menu is always full of variety, their beans are top quality and in house roasted. Hard to beat a classic simple Latte from there.
I went with an old friend the other day and I loved it. the atmosphere felt like one of those coffee houses from TV shows and movies only smaller. It was amazing and whatever coffee my friend ordered was amazing. Definitely going back for more in the future. Did I mention the staff are really cute?
Seriously they deserve all five stars!! Service is always incredible, the coffee is fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is just really cool. I wish I lived closer but I always stop here when Im in the area. I had a Jakes Rust Belt Brew today. Chris was my barista. I was having a rough start to my day and he was really great.
Buy ALL your coffee here, youll be glad you do! Starbucks doesnt have anything on Harbor Perk! The atmosphere is very nice as well, the staff are very friendly and fast to get your coffee. The only improvement thatd make the place even better is if it were in time perhaps an Amsterdam style Coffee Shop! Id probably move in then! Thats a joke ha ha! But every other sentence is 100% spot on!
Excellent experience. We were traveling through the area and when looking for coffee, found this stop. The owner was there and was roasting coffee; right in the coffee shop. He was super friendly and knew a ton about his beans and coffee roasting. We purchased a couple coffee drinks. He even sold us some green coffee beans for our own home roasting. Great atmosphere, friendly people. Fun place to visit. Worth driving to. Thanks for the great experience. Will be back next time we are in the region.
Best place to go for coffee in Ashtabula! Not only is it right on the water, it is centrally located right on the harbor amongst several other shops and businesses. There is a vast coffee selection here and the prices are very affordable! There is a lot of seating areas here as well as good wifi if coming here to work.
Visiting family in Conneaut and I found Harbor Perks. I’ve gotta say that I was very glad I did. I’m a huge coffee drinker and i’ve spent years consuming some of the top beans from around the world. Being from Central Florida we have dozens of places that try to emulate being a “Coffee House” but I can honestly say that none of them hold a candle to Harbor Perk. From the minute I entered the simple but warming environment truly made me want to actually sit back and stay for a while. It’s warm and inviting environment is completed by the fantastic people who work there. The two gentlemen (owners who’s name i can’t remember SORRY!) totally know what they are doing in their craft and produce an amazing product. From the bags of beans and the huge roasting machine in the back, it truly gave me a very warm and inviting experience. Ashtabula has a diamond in their backyard and i’m jealous. This establishment would be a regular daily place for me to go if I were ever to live in the area and i’m glad I was able to visit. Harbor Perk made my stay in Conneaut so much better and I can’t wait to get back there to pay them a visit. To the owners BRAVO! Love your coffee house and I wish you many years success! Thanks for making my trip a memorable one!
The cappuccinos and frappuccinos are GREAT. They have a nice roasted coffee bean flavor. I actually prefer it over Starbucks. I was a huge Starbucks fan until we moved to the area and found Harbor Perk. My husband and I really enjoy Harbor Perks atmosphere too. We think its a great place to relax and hang out.
My girlfriend and I checked out this place mainly because the former wanted coffee and we happened to be in Ashtabula at the time. My green tea that I got was very good, but my girlfriend found that her Mocha involved over-roasted coffee beans, so it wasnt her favorite coffee. However, what puts this review into 4-star territory was that the atmosphere of the place was wonderful. We enjoyed some of the paintings as well as the atmosphere of being in a small late-19th century(I think) building. It was well decorated indeed!
We visited my GFs parents a year ago in Ashtabula and I stumbled across Harborperks.I started buying my coffee from them over the Internet and have been happy with the beans, the roast, the packaging and the customer service since then. They are friendly, flexible, and fairly priced; I have bought at least 10 lbs from them so far and they have been gracious enough to include samples for us to try.I suggest the Nicaraguan, they roast it dark, and it is best in a french press.
I first visited this place at the end of May 2018 , but heard about it back in February 2018 when in town visiting a relative. I had only heard stories of the inside of the shop, as this used to be the location for a store that my Great Uncle Jack Anderson owned many years ago when the port was most-active. Harbor Perk was busy, but not too crowded. The shop itself is larger than it appears. Plenty of tables to sit and converse while enjoying the many diverse caffeinated beverages they can whip up for you. I had the most delicious Iced Chai with two shots of espresso. (Filthy Chai as opposed to a one-shot Dirty Chai) The staff was friendly and offered helpful suggestions and patience with regard to local favorites of brewed-goodness. Looking forward to returning here next time I am in Ashtabula.

2022-06-01Loved the coffee when I went there but live out of town. So I ordered three bags of beans recently (not cheap, but as I thought worth the price and postage) and only one bag matched my original order. I emailed twice to see if we can correct the order with the original order confirmation showing what I had ordered - never received a response. While coffee is great and I love to support local business I do not comfortable ordering online again.

2022-02-09I enjoyed the vanilla latte extra sweet and it was good. It also warmed my hands as I roamed the town. Most was closed at 7 am. Nice clean restroom with lovely art. Unisex as it just says....whatever with many images. Cute. Close to the lift bridge.

2022-05-17They offer FRESH coffee. Yum. Flavors you cant get anywhere else, like toasted marshmallow (my fav) and they have a wide variety of products besides just coffee. The only negative, personally, is the total boujee-college-teen-campus vibe. Overall, I do frequently this establishment.

2020-06-14This is a cool, quirky little coffee house in the heart of Ashtabula. My wife had a medium roast coffee and I had a dirty chai. Both were very good. The atmosphere of this place is interesting, with old coffee grinders, turn-of-the-century furniture, and other odds and ends. The staff are very friendly, and the coffee and pre-packaged food items are great!
