Harbor Freight Tools in other cities:
Everyone treats you like you are important, from the time you enter the store and when you leave. Being a Woman I felt uncomfortable at first with the mindset that this was known as a Male like facility (being tools) I have been treated wonderful and I am comfortable shopping at Harbor Freight and WILL visit again. ☺
Wasn’t going to share this experience but I’m pretty sure I’m certain what I saw. Went in to buy a 4 ton jack some Icon socket sets with my two year old boy. By the time I actually decided on everything I needed about 2 - 3 different men followed me around the store from aisle to aisle. Not sure if they stereotyped me or thought I was going to steal something or I’m imagining this, but I’m 44 years old and this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this in my life, just never from the Medina Harbor Freight store. Sad.
I was in Harbor Freight a couple days ago looking for an item and this nice young lady came and asked if I needed help. She was so thoughtful and understanding. I believe her name was Cristina. Every time I go to Harbor Freight everyone there is ready to help. The quality of the products that I have purchased have been great.
I bought a new Diamondback tile saw Wednesday. Put it together and started cutting tile Friday. The motor started sparking inside the the housing and shut down after 30 min. I called HF to see what my options were and was told to bring it back for an exchange. Took it in this morning and exchanged with no problems. Wish it had worked but am pleased at how easy it was to exchange. 👍
Typical suburban storefront of this popular discount tool chain. No surprises good or bad. Store is seldom crowded, clean & well kept. Easy parking. Dont forget to bring coupons from website or ad flyer. Location somewhat hidden back in plaza behind OReilly Auto Parts so watch for sign if youve never been here before.
Went there to get small tool stocking stuffers inexpensive items for an upcoming Christmas gathering. They had a large selection of items for $5 and under from which to choose. In addition I was able to use one of the coupons plus it automatically took off a 20% discount on one item from an additional coupon so it was nice to know that you could use more than one coupon on a visit. Theyre ITC program which you pay almost $30 a year for seems a bit much but if you buy a lot of tools I guess it could be beneficial. Sales staff was very friendly the store was clean and well laid-out and prices were well-marked.
Customer service from both the store manager another teller were beyond rude. Simple questions got nasty responses for no reason. Idk if Ron or Stephanie were both having bad days but thats not my concern. My concern is to be treated like a paying customer no matter what kind of day these people are having. My wife and i were there to return a welder and swap it out for another since she received bad advice the first time she was there. Next time ill go to a different location. I dont recommend this store at all. Too bad zero stars is not an option.
Parking: ok but somewhat crowded. Accessibility: a little lacking. People: mostly helpful but seems understaffed. Product quality: weak but hey, what dya expect for the price! Product availability: the item I was looking to purchase (and had coupon for ) was out of stock.....bummer. but I got one at Tractor Supply instead.
HF, Medina, Ohio: Id only been to this store twice. Dennis cashed me out both times and both times there were errors on my register receipt (coupon discounts were not applied). I just recently returned to the store to get the problems fixed and the manager gave me a hard time. He said that the coupons were expired, that they dont last forever. Well, they werent expired when I handed them to his cashier. He also wondered why it took me so long to return to the store to get it fixed. Other than the fact that I dont live that close, why should it matter? I shouldnt have had to return at all. On this third trip to HF, the cashier was Olivia. She was very friendly and helpful. Promote her. She understands customer service.
As per usual, Harbor Freight had a specially priced set of tools with a case which I wanted as a birthday gift for my 17 yr. old grandson-a great starter set and something useful not needing batteries. The other premiums are always fun items for me as a reward for shopping in either HF store near me-both clean, orderly and with helpful employees.
Used to love the place, but they got me with a gimmick coupon a few weeks ago. 25% off one item, so I went in with the intention of getting a large rolling tool chest. Coupon didnt apply. Small print said pretty much nothing applied. I ordered the chest anyway. Two weeks later, I get called that its in. I borrow a truck, went to get it and was told its not there, but there will be more on the next shipment, next week. Id have given one star, but had good dealings in the past. Will update this later and we will see if the stars go up or down. Place seems like its becoming one of those stores that tries to scam you every which way, and I hope thats not the case. But I honestly think my tool box came in because they called me, then another customer wanted one and mine was there so they sold it to him
Very frustrating. Drove 25 min from Wadsworth to Medina store. Apparently only one employee in the entire store. He tried to help but could not leave register. After several attempts to find what I came for, I found they were out of stock......but dont worry, Theres a truck coming tomorrow. Well, I doubt I will drive another 25 min one way to see if the truck magically brings what I need.
Good place for odds and ends for cheap price, but they need to work on customer service! I walked up to a register after a clerk (Dennis) just finished with a customer I had 5 items and the clerk (Dennis) immediately said Im on break. (Its not what he said its how he said it) I thought he was kidding at first but he wasnt. I cant believe he couldnt ring me out before he clocked out... Which he did after I walked away. I later delt with clerk named annette she was polite and friendly.
Shopped here many times. Found out about a safety recall for trailer tires so I called the store to inquire about replacements per the notice on the website. The manager was insistent about needing a notice sent from corporate and would not help me because I did not have this notice. She did give me the 800 number to corporate which I called and talked to a rep. The rep assured me that as long as the tires matched the recall that I did not need any paperwork that would have been sent from corporate. I called the store in Sheffield and was told to bring in the tires and as long as they matched the recall that they would swap them out. If this wasnt for a safety recall I wouldnt have written this but the response from the Medina store was not correct or appropriate. Not sure Ill be going back there again.
I just left Harbor Freight in Medina. I purchased some brackets and a small carpenters square. I had my 2 year old son with me in one arm and the few items in the other. The cashier made a comment about having to organize (ALL MY ITEMS) because I set them in a pile. Then they answered the store phone. Instead of putting them on hold until my transaction was done they proceeded to answer questions about tools. Unfortunately this person cannot multitask, instead they pointed at what they wanted me to do. Now that I paid for my items they left to go figure out what the person on the phone was asking about. Leaving all my items on the counter. Having my toddler in one arm I collected my things with my free hand trying not to drop anything on the way to my car. I guess it was rude of me to expect someone to provide me with adequate customer service and put my things in a bag. You can pass this on to your marketing department... Harbor Freight.... the only thing low quality is our screwdriver sets and customer service!
Always a bad place for me and probably other people also. Go in for one thing and leave with more than planned. Always get a free flashlight. Nephew loves them, sister in law hates them, double bonus. LoL. Staff always friendly and helpful. Supervisors go above and beyond to make anything wrong right at this one.

2021-09-12Just went to Harbor Freight Tools to check out there new jump starter power packs. Still thinking whether to buy one or not. Harbor Freight Tools does have good products at reasonable prices and many other interesting items. Everything that I have ever bought from there has been good and nothing to complain about. The store is very clean with the smell of rubber in the air which I do not find offensive at all.

2022-06-09Be aware of any powered anything at HF. The quality isnt very good and I think thats well known, but unfortunately you cant return anything to the store if it breaks, even if it breaks in the first 15 minutes of use and returned the same day. The best part is that the customer service number that youre supposed to call instead does not work and you get a recording that youve dialed an incorrect number!! Lucky for me, the supervisor there did give me a refund after I told him this. Thats the only reason for 4 stars.

2022-04-19First they did away with their 20% off coupons and freebies with purchase. Then they bumped up quality of tools a partial notch but put prices at the same as the low end stuff at the big box stores. Add to that they insist on getting your personal information to make a purchase and require an ID to return products that are on recall.

2022-03-17Nice store, mostly friendly staff. Went in for a tool cart, none in stock. That seems to be the normal when I go in for a bigger item, not in stock.

2021-10-12I found allot of stuff to buy my husband for Christmas 🎄. Larry the store manager was very helpful. He noticed my arms were full of stuff and without asking he went and got me a shopping cart. He also was helpful with any questions I had regarding the products in his store.

2021-09-29Always something new and interesting to check out. Some of their novelty items are cool. Their tools may not be highly rated but Ive had a few things that have lasted 10 or more years.
