I adore this place! Cupcakes in creative flavors, pastries galore, and an awesome food menu. You can pre-order or pick up whats available that day, or eat in at the cozy cafe. And their wedding service is amazing! They provided about 200 cupcakes for my big day, and I couldnt have been happier with the quality and service. And, of course, the whole place is vegan. If you arent vegan, I promise youll never notice. If you are, I promise youll never want to leave!
The biscuit sandwich, broccoli spinach quiche, and chick nuggets were all great! Highly recommend the biscuit breakfast sandwich!! This place is super cure and homey with the boho vibe I love so much! Lots of live plants near the windows, cute seating, friendly people!
I barely finished my meal before I started writing this review. The interior is cute and casual. But, oh my goodness, the food is excellent. I had The Breakfast sandwich, but on the croissant instead of the biscuit. The croissant was light, flaky, and fresh. It was so warm and toasty it must have come fresh from the oven. I also had the spicy tomato soup, and while it wasnt too spicy, it was warm and filling. Perfect meal for a cold day. I also ordered an Italian empanada, but I was too full from the sandwich and the soup, so Im bringing it home. The staff was lovely and helpful. Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu.
So delicious! We are so glad we went with Happy Chicks for our wedding cake! It all began with our delicious tasting appointment and we immediately knew we found the perfect place for our wedding cake. Jana embodied the name of the bakery and you could tell she really loves what she does. They offered so many unique and delicious flavors and design options. Thank you Happy Chicks for making our wedding day so sweet!
Not sure if I got old product or not but Im shopping for cakes and heard about them so I went and brought cupcakes to taste test their cupcakes...when I went to eat them they were cold and heavy, it felt like a muffin, I had to wait until the cupcakes got to room temp and they were really thick and the flavor was lost, I like soft and moist cakes and this wasnt it I brought 2 cupcakes i only pinched off one and threw them all away $9 down the drain
I was looking for something vegan or gluten-free and I came across your bakery online. Ive gotten your Date Night, Orange Hibiscus and Orange Ginger cupcakes. I came into town from Tennessee to celebrate my birthday and I have fallen in love with your cupcakes. Love them and not a lot of icing on top.
Ordered 2 pies for Thanksgiving, one apple pie and one pumpkin pie which were $35 each. Was willing to pay this price after reading such highly rated reviews on line. The apple pie was average, a bit on the dry side, but the pumpkin pie was awful! Each of the 3 slices I served to my guests was tossed after the 1st bite along with the entire pie! Tasted like it was ALL clove spice and no pumpkin filling. Even the color was a brown color, definitely not even close to a pumpkin pie filling color. Complete waste of the $70 I spent.
Came in to get some treats for my birthday and was met by an incredibly kind person behind the counter, they asked what I was in for and I mentioned it was my birthday. I asked for their recommendations and chose the Date Night (pictured- a lemon olive oil cake with blackberries, and an almond icing) and Lemon Raspberry cupcake, and they were absolutely delicious. To the person working with the cute shaggy mullet, you absolutely made my day, thanks for the cupcake 😊🌻
I really enjoyed visiting the Happy Chicks bakery, the people are friendly and the quiche was delicious the salad was questionable, ridiculously small for the price, thats why they didnt get a five. The cupcakes were delicious with that filling inside, icing beautiful and delicious vegan too, Ill be back. Thank you!
We needed a first birthday cake for my son with an egg allergy and Happy Chicks came to the rescue. We ordered a blueberry lemon cake and a vanilla smash cake. Easily the best cake I’ve ever had! Customer service was excellent and the ordering process was very, very easy. My sister almost forgot to pick up the cake before they closed on New Year’s Eve and they were kind enough to call and remind her. We have already ordered another cake to try for our birthday! I also love that it doesn’t have preservatives. We are now customers for life!
Happy Chicks was originally my go-to since they offer Gluten Free options. They express equality and fairness. We had a reservation to pick up my Gluten Free 25th birthday cake at 4, leaving for vacation directly after. We were called 7 til close to let us know it was ready (I am 15 min away). The lady told me they would eat it instead and hung up on me when asking for a couple minutes extra for pick up.Unfortunately, from here on out I will go elsewhere for my Gluten Free options.
Happy Chicks Bakery baked my wedding cake. Everything was seamless. My cake tasting was very personal with a lot of one on one attention and guidance. The baker helped us figure out the correct size we needed and helped us achieve the look we were hoping for. Happy Chicks was very professional and so easy to work with. There were so many flavors for us to choose from and the baker helped us narrow down what we wanted. I can’t say enough good things about Happy Chicks. I definitely recommend using them for any celebratory needs! Also our non-vegan guests seemed to enjoy the cake too!
We were very disappointed with our cake from Happy Chicks. We paid an additional $5 for blueberries to top the cake, and only a few blueberries were put around the ridges of the cake. The cake was also extremely dry and bread like, to the point that it was inedible. The icing was so sweet that not even the kids could eat it. It was very beautifully decorated apart from the lack of blueberries I had paid for, but the taste was not worth the $50 for a very small cake. I reached out to their team in hopes that they would offer some sort of partial refund or something for good will, but they offered nothing. As a small business I would expect an understanding of how hard people work for their money and an effort to make it right. But sadly I was not met with that, so I am having to post this review to prevent others from experiencing the same.
Easily my favorite bakery in Cincinnati. While you cant go wrong with their standard menu items (their breakfast sandwich is incredible), its their innovative flavor combinations that everyone needs to try. Some dont sound like winners on paper (grapefruit cupcakes? Mole mango soup?), but Ive never had a bad item.
My wife and I are recently vegan and have been visiting some new spots in town to satisfy that sweet tooth or splurge a little and not have to cook. We bought the cupcakes for my sons birthday party here and everyone raved about them. We have eaten breakfast here every time we go in and the food and the staff are amazing. We have gotten good recommendations for other vegan friendly places to try without a single disappointed. I would recommend this place to anyone vegan or not.
Happy Chicks Bakery is a happy place. It’s cute and inviting inside and they always have something yummy to satisfy your (vegan) sweet tooth. They have some good lunch options as well. They did my wedding cake a few years ago and it was gorgeous and delicious. The service here is always great and I love how everything is vegan. 🎂
We needed a Mother’s Day cake the day before, and some overly picky customer had ordered this gorgeous design and then refused to buy it - well, we absolutely loved EVERYTHING about it! The design was exquisite - the taste, to die for - the fresh aroma and texture... Mmmm, heavenly! So, glad we got this masterpiece, instead! Thanks a million, Happy Chicks! Wish we could post a picture of the design!
Happy Chicks Bakery is a shining Vegan star in a city with almost no exclusively Vegan options. They have amazing cupcakes, delicious pastries, and they even do lunch items like their gourmet PB&J! My personal favorite is the breakfast sandwich on one of their crispy croissants. This place is awesome and its all Vegan!
Happy Chicks rocks! They have awesome cakes and the food served in the cafe is really good too. We have had the Chunky Monkey Cake and the OTR Cake. They were both amazing! My husbands entire family tried his Chunky Monkey Cake and they really enjoyed it, they thought there was going to be broccoli and avocado sticking out of it because its vegan! We also ate in the cafe and had the breakfast sandwich and quiche. I recommend the breakfast sandwich on the vegan biscuit. The quiche was good too.
Meat eaters and milk drinkers, do not let the Vegan menu discourage you, Tasty food does reside in this small quaint bakery and cafe. I came for a wedding cake tasting and was oh so pleasantly surprised. While I was there I tried one of their vegan quiches I could barely tell that it wasnt egg. After trying out 10 other bakeries no one could compare to the taste and affordability of Happy Chicks. I am glad to say that this location has won me as a patron, I hope you give them the chance to do the same for you.
I had a donut, quiche, and cookies from here. The donut was dry and tasted old; the quiche was bland. The cookies were good though, so I placed a larger order on their website.I called to verify my order a few days before pick up was planned, and was told my order never went through and I dont know what to tell you, did you use our website? when indeed I have the confirmation email from the system. She also said their form doesnt allow to select a pick-up time, but as you can see there is a drop down for it. I understand technical complications, but not standing by your order form and not trying to make it right was extremely frustrating.I wasnt too surprised that the employee was rude to me though, when I visited the bakery the cashier was very curt and impersonal.
Great quality food and baked goods. I really enjoy their specialty cupcakes. I would have gave them a five star review but my last purchase from them was not great. I purchased a birthday cake for my daughter and the cake was so heavy with icing we had to peel a lot of it off. Next time I hope to get more cake than icing especially for the cost. Give them a try, you can’t go wrong with the cupcakes.
Im not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I will say that this bakery has amazing food, all the pastries Ive had from them were 10/10. And they have a beautifully decorated shop and top notch customer service. Cincinnati shops are generally lacking in the customer service department but Happy Chicks Bakery is very obviously staffed by some real happy chicks. 10/10 will go back many times.
What an adorable place for brunch! Beyond that their cupcakes and baked goods are amaaaazing! We have booked them for our wedding! So happy to have a vegan option for baked goods in Cincinnati! Very friendly staff as well!To add to this one...I had Happy Chicks provide for our wedding cupcakes! Best choice ever! They were sooo good and everyone loved them! Ty so much girls! 🥰🥰🥰

We purchased our wedding cake from Happy Chicks and it was a huge hit for all guests! They didnt even know it was vegan but gobbled it up! The catering staff told us theyd never seen a wedding cake go so fast! Usually they need to throw out extras, but we had absolutely nothing left! Absolutely delicious!! And working with the bakery staff was a total breeze. Id recommend this bakery for any type of event!
We used Happy Chicks Bakery for our wedding cakes and they were completely perfect! When we first met with the owners for a tasting, they made sure to make us feel comfortable and allowed us to try as many flavors as we wanted so that were able to get exactly what we wanted for our wedding. The cakes were absolutely delicious, and beautiful. It was great that we were able to have cakes at our wedding that everyone could enjoy (vegans and meat-eaters alike). Thank you so much for adding something special to our wedding day!
Superb!! Happy Chicks made quiche and pastry for our wedding morning brunch and wedding cake. Everything was delicious! The team was a joy to work with and the food was amazing! We had multiple wedding cakes, and not a slice left afterwards! We were so happy with the service and quality of food!
I tried a couple baked goods and they were delicious, as was the veggie sandwich. Its a cute store, but nothing that stands out amongst many other similar gentrification stores. My sandwich took 25+ minutes for no apparent reason. The few people in the store before me already had their orders and only a couple of people came in after me. And two of the three people working started decorating. Free up your day before coming here.
My new Wife and I used Happy Chicks for our wedding cake and cupcakes. From the initial sit down consultation to the final product it was absolutely amazing and it was easy! Our guests loved all the desserts and the display they created for us. We can’t thank the staff at Happy Chicks enough for getting everything all set up for us during our hectic wedding day. We have used Happy Chicks for our special events in the past and will continue using them in the future!
We tried this place for the first time last Sunday, and what a gem. A very welcoming setting centered on Hamilton in Northside, Happy Chicks Bakery is a 100% vegan restaurant offering a full vegan menu that will please even the pickiest if eaters (myself included). The Orange Coconut Rum Cinnamon Rolls are a fantastic way to finish my off any breakfast. I ordered the Vegan Goetta and I have to say, it was just as good, if not better than most Goetta. My girlfriend had the spinach frittata biscuit sandwich and it was delicious. If youre looking for a nice quiet setting without the fuss of figuring out what is vegan friendly, this is the place for you.
Our wedding cake was beautiful! Jana and her team captured everything we wanted with our cake and we LOVED it! Even better than how great it looked was how great it tasted! We received so many complements on how good our cake was ... and the best complement of all? It was all gone! Thank you Jana and Happy Chicks Bakery!
I stopped here twice just passing through Cincinnati and its really good, fresh food. I got the Greens sandwich and a side salad with green goddess dressing (YUM!!!) and it all just tastes like fresh picked produce straight from the garden... so good. The girls are so nice and the decorations are super cute, with wildflowers and orchids everywhere. Also took some baked goods with us, lemon tea cake was the best cake ever!!! I dont even live here but Ill still stop by every time i go visit my family down south and pass through. Loved it :)
I love Happy Chicks. Their cupcakes and sweets are spectacular, and their savory dishes are fantastic, too. On top of the quality of the food, the place itself has a lovely atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I cant recommend Happy Chicks highly enough.
So many delicious options it was hard to choose! Have loved every breakfast item, pastry, and beverage from this cute little vegan establishment. They also offer local kombucha from Skinny Pig including seasonal flavors (the Pumpkin patch is delicious!). Support local while helping the planet with tasty plant based treats!
Happy chicks is nothing short of amazing. Its a must stop in Cincinnati wether youre vegan or not and theyre allergy friendly! Their croissant sandwiches and cupcakes are so delicious. The sweet and tart, chocolate lavender and ginger chai are my favorites. The service is wonderful and the staff is very patient and polite. The interior is charming and cute. Cant say enough good things Ive loved this place for years! Q
Happy chicks was the first wedding vendor we settled on before we even tasted their creations. The process was incredibly smooth from booking a tasting to eating the cake. The product itself was delicious and I dont think any guests had an inclination that their was anything different about the cake just because it was vegan, which we considered a plus. The pricing was more than reasonable given the quality and amount of cake we had. Jessica was very helpful with keeping us on track for final changes and selecting flavors. The only complaint we have may have just been a misunderstanding, but we expected to have a layer of chocolate cake with the bourbon cherry filling. The cake itself, however, was white, not chocolate. Everyone still found it to be delicious. Highly recommend Happy Chicks Bakery and the grapefruit poppy seed flavor ;).
Happy chicks bakery is located in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside. They are a locally-owned independent bakery. They specialize in cakes and you can custom order one on their website. They also have cupcakes, brownies, pies, cheesecakes and bars. Their selection varies from day to day. Its also a great place for breakfast or lunch. On Saturdays they offer donuts. And they have daily lunch specials.Happy chicks bakery will not disappoint! It is worth the trip!
WOW I had given up on ever having a real CAKE, for my birthday, figured that I would just have to settle for ice cream cakes because they are the only cakes that do not have eggs. HAPPY CHICKS have given me back BIRTHDAY CAKES, not to mention croissants, quiche, cookies cupcakes and donuts. Their egg free vegan baked goods are moist, flavorful and absolutely delicious. Thank you Happy Chicks for giving me my birthday wish - a real birthday cake!
Stopped in to pick up cupcakes for a vegan co-workers birthday. Service was super friendly and helpful, cannot overstate how pleasant it was. Cupcakes wowed everyone at the office, vegan or otherwise. Earned a bunch of are you sure this is vegan?” from the meat-eaters among us, myself included.
One of my favorite Nothside gems! Reay good food, excellent customer service and very welcoming atmosphere. Everything is vegan so no trying to figure out what you can eat. The breakfast and empanadas are my favorites! Also love the orange cupcakes with lavender icing. #yum
The chick nuggets are so good, and my 6-year-old even likes them! I love their salads and empanadas too. Their baked goods have very inventive flavors, so if you just want something plain like a chocolate chip cookie, this probably isnt for you. Everything here is vegan.
Summary:Nice people, good food, nice space, but for our visit it was understaffed and we got little to no service.Details:My family of 4 vegans dropped in here for a Saturday breakfast during an overnight stay. All the tables were taken so we sat at the bar. We had the emily sandwhich, breakfast sandwhich, the breakfast sandwhich on a croissant, the greens sandwhich, chick nuggets, pudlas, cherry and almond donuts, and coffee. The prices are reasonable but the portions are also fairly small to match the price.Convenient parking across the street, cute place, friendly staff, a nice but not huge selection of tasty baked goods, sandwhiches ranged from excellent (emily) to ok (beakfast), the chick nuggets were a bit crumbly and just ok, the pudlas were tasty but dry and there wasnt enough of the fantastic chutney to compensate, and the coffee was good. When we arrived at 10:45a the line was 2 people and before we ordered it was 10 deep The service we did get was ok, but the busy-ness of the place made it impossible to get any additional service. My daughter never got her tea (that could have been ordering confusion though as it seems beverages were all self serve), nobody told us about the self serve water so we went without water, I was told about the self serve coffee when I ordered, so I was able to get got my coffee.I think if there was another person on staff our vist would have been fantastic.
Ive went vegan a little over a week ago and stopped by after work for a snack...or two for the drive home. I got a croissant and an empanada which was so good that I pulled over to eat it properly. I devoured the croissant while the empanada was warming up. I also have a chocolate orange cupcake that I cant wait to dive into with some hot tea later today- thank you!! I highly recommend this place and will be coming back often.
Not overly expensive. Friendly staff. Delicious cupcakesnand donuts. They also have popovers, quiche, empanadas, and so much more. All vegan. Bring your own coffee cup. The coffee is good, they offer oatmilk creamer and agave syrup besides just sugar. The creamy piatao soup is delightful, the chicken nuggets are made in house and delightful, much better than store bought. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
My favorite place in Cincinnati. The baked goods are amazing, but the sandwiches, quiche, and empanadas are lifechange-ingly good.Yes, everything is vegan.. This freaks people out for some reason, but Im telling you - the food here is better than any non-vegan food Ive had. Not hyperbole. The service is top notch as well!
This is the best place ever. I went for brunch and could not stop going back. My husband is allergic to eggs, so I was able to get him the first birthday cake here that he had in years! We loved it so much they did our wedding cake. Their cafe is bright and beautiful.
ABSOLUTELY. TERRIBLE. I got my birthday cake from this bakery, and for $50, they gave me a cake that was as small as my hand!!! i also ordered raspberry icing, and it tastes like plain old store bought vanilla icing. if you only care about the way a cake looks, then this would be the place to go for your cake, but if you don’t want a sponge textured tasteless cake, you should go to a different bakery.
Spent $50 on a 6 GF bday cake for my mom. I assumed it would be a quality product and love supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, it had a terrible texture and unremarkable flavor. I wrote a polite email to them sharing my experience and they didnt even have the decency to respond. One star for both product and service.
Sooo good and the thought that everything here is vegan makes me so grateful.I was just looking at a video of cows who cry for days after their babies were taken from them for veal so that humans could steal their milk and I said a big thank you to the awesome staff at Happy Chicks for their amazing cruelty free baked goodsNothing missing here ( well except said cruelty)

2022-04-30Very pleased with my experience. They are quick to respond and are open to make something you need. They made my 21st bday cake exactly if not better than I imagined. If you’re vegan I highly recommend!

2021-11-06Great place to grab a healthy lunch and pick up something sweet for the afternoon or evening. I tend to always get the The Greens sandwich, but everything is tasty. Seasonal quiche and empanadas rotate along with cupcakes, cookies and pastries in the shop.

2022-03-25Love this shop and all their yummy treats! Pro tip, the earlier you go the more baked goods will be on the shelf. Everything is super fresh and this crew works long hours baking the best vegan cupcakes in the city! Highly recommend and love having them here in Northside.

2022-05-01We recently ordered 5 dozen cupcakes in a variety of flavors for a party and everyone raved about them! Highly highly recommend! We didnt even need them to be vegan but honestly we couldnt even tell that they were. Will definitely be back!

2022-04-15My daughter treated me to Happy Chicks on a recent visit. We chose Happy Chicks in particular as I have to eat gluten free/dairy free. It was a bit of a gamble, as she had not been there before to check it out, but the staff and the food were great! She had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant - the non-allergy version - and I had the same on a gf biscuit with df cheese. Both of us were very impressed with our food! The gf biscuit was really good, with actual crunch at the edges, and did not have the problematic dryness many gf baked goods suffer from. My next trip to the area will include an intentional visit to Happy Chicks! Excellent!

2022-05-05The professionalism and service was excellent. The bakery offers a nice variety of items. I ordered a vegan cake for a family member and they loved it.
