Absolutely filthy. Do yourself a favor and keep driving. Pubic hairs under the covers, hair & dirt & crumbs were behind the mattress (which I noticed while I was checking for bed bugs - shockingly there weren’t any visible). The desk chair had blood stains on the back and pretzels were wedged between the cushion and arm… I can’t believe the Hampton brand hasn’t condemned this hotel yet.
Nice place, room was well-kept. Nice amenities. Would recommend. One star off for housekeeping who would not shut up, yelling at each other continually between rooms and holding entire conversations from 20+ feet away. I get it, its good to enjoy your job, but its also important to remember people are trying to sleep or enjoy some kind of reasonable quiet at 10AM. Also, its important to remember that people can hear you, so quit swearing and sharing salicious gossip at 85 decibels.
The hotel its self is a bit outdated but the real problem here is the attention to detail on the part of the staff. We have been staying here for a couple months for work and there is almost always a problem. Either our rooms arent available or they forget to put our points on our cards. This week we had rooms but I didnt receive my hilton honors points even though it was specifically talked about with the front desk. This is getting old. If you have to stay for a night then fine but I wouldnt recommend a long term visit
Stayed for a couple weeks due to business needs. The staff was great, room was clean and the food was good. What more could you need or want. I came back a couple weeks later and stayed again, they remembered me and the experience was the same. Thank you, see you again.
To begin, the staff was pleasant. That being said I overpaid for a hotel in Zainesville. Same night next week, a Monday, $100 less. Brought it up to staff and they shrugged off. Parents stayed same night and paid almost $100 less before using points. We picked Hampton by Hilton, because we figured the surrounding hotels would be less desirable. But price wise, the cleanliness of the pool and the bathroom fan falling out Im not sure we made right choice.
The Hampton In staff in Zanesville went above and beyond for my daughter’s 11th birthday. She was totally surprised by all of the thoughtful goodies and decor that was in our room upon check-in. It really made her day more special. Thank you so much for all of your time and effort spent to make her birthday great!
Stayed here at the end of April with some family that was visiting. The place was well kept and the staff was extremely friendly. We really enjoyed the Breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and waffles. The rooms were rather large and always cleaned by the time we got back in the afternoon. It had a very nice looking pool but they use this mixture of Chlorine and salt which not only felt weird on your skin but you definitely do not want to get any of it on your face. The parking lot was also annoying to get in and out of if there were more than one car moving around at a time, which every room was booked when we went so probably a little more traffic in the lot than usual.
Staff is friendly and always smiling. Housekeeping does a great job cleaning the rooms. Breakfast is hot and theres a big variety to choose from. Heated indoor pool, Weight room. Computer and printer available for guest. Theres several restaurants within walking distance. Overall price for rooms are reasonable. 5 stars. Highly recommend.
Nice and clean, friendly staff, restaurants close by. But word to the wise - ask for a 3rd floor room (top floor) because you can hear every step everyone makes above you. Would stay here again but only on top floor. Oh, also this location does have a suite room type. It’s the “king bed study with sofa bed” and is essential if you have kids. Nice and large compared to normal room types.
Nice Hotel recommended by staff at my company branch which I was visiting. Clean rooms and common areas. Pool and workout room seemed adequate, not exceptional but not bad. Very nice desk staff and professional atmosphere. Housekeeping seemed thorough for my nights so far. Overall would recommend to others.
The Front Desk was very helpful and had great customer service. I arrived around 830-9pm. The room was great and very comfy. The only reason this is a two star rating is because of the breakfast selection. Ive been to hotels that offer cheaper rooms with greater variety of breakfast items. Very disappointed in the breakfast selection especially for being a Hampton, go to steak n Shake next door for a better meal.
We had called ahead to make reservations and explicitly asked for a handicap room, as my sister is completely limited to a wheelchair. Upon arrival they did not have a handicap room ready for us, or any available- apparently whoever booked us didnt list it in the software properly. We agreed to a regular bedroom on the first floor but the bathroom did NOT accommodate her power chair- she couldnt completely shut the door for privacy nor reach the sink. Beds were also VERY tall and if she didnt have a raising chair, getting into bed would have been a challenge. We were only staying for one night and upon checkout found they had charged us slightly more than what was quoted on the phone, presumably for the room change. We were in a rush and didnt have time to ask about it but we were a bit miffed to pay MORE over a mistake that wasnt our fault. At least breakfast was hot and the facility was clean
Who ever owns this hotel is super cheap. I get virus restrictions, but this was more then that. No housekeeping, little in the hotel store, pool is not open, and breakfast was in a bag that you picked up at front desk and it was a nutragrain bar, a little Debbie snack, a tiny apple, and a bottle of water with a instant half tea/half lemonade. I will never come back to this hotel and would have to be desperate to even stay at any Hampton Inn.
Shower wouldn’t drain, bathroom floor was sticky, chair stained with god knows what, couch had food crumbs on it. Room temp was set super cold when I arrived, assuming they were trying to hide the smell because once it warmed up it was terrible in there. The bed also looked like someone had taken a nap there before I arrived. Was supposed to be here 8 nights, spent one and had to go elsewhere. I travel a lot, this is by far the worst Hilton property I’ve ever been to.
Not the worst hotel we ever stayed in, but in the top 3. Employees sit by the front entrance to smoke making customers having to walk through it. The swimming pool is more a cesspool. As far as housekeeping goes I would guess they are hiring. We are gold members and have stayed in over a 100 Hilton chain Hotels and we have found that 2 of their worst are in Ohio. We will drive again through here in 16 days, but we will wait until Indiana before we get a room.
#1 on customer experience. We forgot our sons Batman build-a-bear and they not only found and sent it home to us - they took it up a few notches by taking pictures of Batman working, snacking, resting, etc. and sent those back with the bear. Our son giggled so hard when I read the notes from the Hampton Inn staff. They also sent us some extra swag that we couldnt find during our stay like a Zanesville t-shirt and such. Five star personal touch! Thanks!
Small parking lot, definitely on the small side if youre pulling a trailer, which we were.Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was sufficiently friendly. No 24 access to the pool or fitness center. Hot tub was broken.Breakfast wasnt bad.Location is fair, a little in the ghetto.
The staff here are wonderful. Been staying here for couple years for work. During this past frigid winter, my car battery failed. The staff helped us with a ride to the store, pick up a new battery and exchange out the old one. The staff here not only make you feel welcomed, but also go above and beyond to help you when needed!
Apparently the start of a busy weekend (we stayed Fri to Sat) as reasonably priced rooms were not easy to find. Had a king room at the Hampton & it was nice, although did not seem much of a bargain: smallish room (not a suite) at a higher price than expected. FWIW: tv & service OK; Wifi was fine; standard free breakfast - not special, but nothing to complain about either. Location was fine for overnight stay. Limited - but friendly - interaction with staff. Would certainly stay there again - but would also look first for lower rate and / or larger room.
Staff was great, building being remodeled we had remodeled room with half inch gap between door and frame. You could watch folks walk by your door with it closed. Not up to HI usual standards. Also no regular coffee in room except the old used filter pack left in the maker by the last guests. Limited parking. Got noisy outside 0500
Wonderful room... Fresh bedding, new pillows, wallpaper, rugs-all immaculate! Friendly desk and breakfast attendant! Standard breakfast EXCEPT for do it yourself waffles with whipped cream! Good coffee! Check in area is a bit crowded. Definitely recommended! Also -you can walk to the Steak and Shake safely!
This was a very nice room and the bed was comfortable. Our experience was a little tainted as the hotel was full of kids for something going on in the area that were very load through the night, so I will stay there again at some point to see if it was thin walls or a normally load kids.
Usually thus would be a 3 but the staff was so friendly and helpful. There for dance competition. They were nice to the girls. Breakfast was ysual but the Breakfast Lady was funny, friendly. Kinda stuck up in a corner. Clise to restaurants, clean! Enough parking, barely. Good value.
I cannot believe that this is a Hampton Inn. From the cheap, outdated furniture; the broken AC cover; the tub spout that almost came off in my hand while pulling the shower on; the refrigerator and microwave sitting on the floor; and the stained chaise lounges and desk chair. When I arrived to my room, all the lights were on and the AC was set to 60, making the room colder than the refrigerator. I wouldn’t stay at this property again.
I had to schedule a business trip last second & the staff helped me secure the best rate possible. Once I arrived, everything was in immaculate condition, the front desk was thorough & helpful, my room was clean & modern, and the breakfast was amazing. Defiinitely a great experience.
This place is Amazing!!! My husband and I were in a car accident, he was sent to hospital for exrays and to make sure he didnt break any bones. I was excorted by the local police to a nearby hotel, I had no money on hand as my husband had our credit cards with him. They were kind enough to give us a free room for several nights. We will forever be Hampton Inn customers, and forever grateful for what the Hampton Inn did for us.. Rooms are clean, beds are sooo confy. Breakfast is very good too. The staff is outstanding!!!!! Love this place!!!
Unplanned trip to pick up personal effects from deceased brothers home. Explained my situation when I made reservation, neither then or at time of check could they offer any help. Ended up paying full price. Hotel is fine, just dont expect anything other than corporate emotions.
I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Hampton. This past weekend, I got married in Zanesville and blocked out rooms for my wedding guests. I had several guests call me and tell me that the hotel said there was no wedding staying at the hotel even though around 15 to 20 rooms had been booked. When I called to discuss I had a very rude woman tell me that I was wrong and the hotel was completely booked so no more of my guests could have rooms. Interesting enough, I could go online still and book rooms. She refused to give my guests the blocked rate, which was bogus by the way, booking through AAA was cheaper than our group rate. I asked for a manager to call me the next morning, never happened. Closer to the wedding I had at least 4 different guests comment and tell me how rude the staff was when they called in and talked to them on the phone. When we arrived to the hotel, the breakfast was subpar & the elevator continued to get stuck. I had guests that were unable to walk up stairs and the hotel was less than accommodating. I also wanted to give all guests a welcome gift for staying in the hotel but they didn’t have any information on who was in our party. It was disorganized and a complete waste of money for the customer service I and my guests received. I would never recommend this hotel to any wedding party or guests. I wish I would have stayed at any other hotel than the Hampton and would never return again. It’s a shame a small hotel in Zanesville would be so rude to a large group booking 20+ rooms. Thanks for the wedding hospitality!
Friendly staff, clean room, indoor pool. All very important when choosing a place to stay. But the reason I’ll come back, is the inspirational messages written on the bananas at breakfast. All of them have a different one. Mine today: Every morning is a chance at a new day. Another one: Be Brave! And even another: Make each day your Masterpiece. Really cool way to start your day away from home. Way to go Hampron Inn Zanesville.
Well all the vending machines are gone, I was working at night so the cashless feature was quite annoying as well as the temporary hold of funds after purchasing over priced snacks....I did some res8and there is legitimate excuses provided as to why cash is no longer excepted, say Greetings to N.W.O.

2022-06-27My door was jammed so getting in required me putting a shoulder into it. The room was decently clean. I forgot a valuable personal item that the staff quickly pocketed. The website says they have a hot tub, but they dont. They are conveniently located by a steak and shake.

2022-05-31Upon arriving to the hotel it seem nice from the street but once entering you can tell its an old building. The swimming pool was dirty. The smell of chlorine was so strong we werent able to stay in there long. The tile around the pool is very slick as well. Our bedroom wasnt very clean either. Hair still on the shower wall. Dirty stained desk chair. The bed was incredibly hard and seemed like it was going to fall apart at any minute! For paying $260 for one night, isnt worth the money!

2021-11-29We were a bit nervous about staying here because some reviews mentioned issues with cleanliness - thankfully, we had absolutely NOTHING to worry about! Excellent stay - very friendly and accommodating staff, went above and beyond by doing things like setting a pack and play in our room before arrival since we weren’t going to get in until after midnight with a one year old. Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, very clean room, felt comfortable with our baby crawling around on the floor. The rooms are a bit dated but have had some updates (example, chips/scratches in tub, needs re-caulked, etc., but had newer countertop and wallpaper) - but this was no big deal and we truly enjoyed our stay! Will definitely stay again!

2021-11-02Our stay was amazing! From the time we entered the door until we left everyone did their very best to make us feel welcome. The room was immaculate, the breakfast was delicious, and it was a nice quiet atmosphere. We will definitely choose Hampton again in the future.

2022-01-29Meh. This Hampton Inn is not the nicest I’ve stayed in. You can tell the building is a little older. The bed in my room seemed like it was broken and was uncomfortable. The door jam also had an awkward 1/2” gap between the door which allows quite a bit of light into the room from the hallway. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is pretty standard.

2021-12-15Positive: I encountered pleasant, mannerly staff. Negative: The cigarette ashes and unused cigarette sitting in a flattened cup by the windowsill. Since I was unable to open the window myself, I assume the housekeeper. No regular coffee packets. Coffee maker had not bee cleaned. The bed was collapsed on one si

2021-08-04Only stayed one night . Loved the room and the breakfast in the morning. The staff member at the desk where nice. Also lady at the small breakfast area was really nice. Other than having to change my bed sheets (a few stains) which they promptly helped with, I had no issues at hotel.

2021-08-21Although this was a smoke-free room, the hall smelled of smoke. Other than that, the guest service was nice, the food was plentiful and the safety measures were in place to make me feel welcome. The breakfast area was smaller than expected but otherwise clean and nice.

2021-07-22This location is mediocre at best. Building is older and you can tell. Our room was okay but the door had a quarter inch light gap along the side. The shower tub didnt drain properly and you ended up standing in water. Light switch for the bathroom art and you can see a blue spark. A coffee maker was not cleaned after the last use and had old coffee grounds in it. The pool was cloudy and there was no hot tub. A much different experience from the Hilton in Chillicothe we stayed at 2 days before
