Accommodations are basic, beds and pillows are acceptable but not comfortable. Covid has made it so housekeeping is only upon request. This has led to people using the public trashcans by the elevators and exits, which have been infrequently emptied and are frequently overflowing. Breakfast accommodations are consists of prepackaged foods including hard boiled eggs, cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, and juice. Same breakfast every day, no variety. They must have been taken by surprise by the weekend crowd because they ran out of the majority of the limited options. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything!!!! Stayed hear for 7 nights, and have heard every late night drunken arrival and every early morning unhappy child and parent. The worst however is when you can hear your neighbors bed creaking and hitting your wall. I was even able to hear their cell phone vibrating on the night stand through the wall.
I stopped here at 2AM while looking for a decent place to park with a pickup and trailer. Within 5 minutes of arriving I had everything set up and was in my room. This was a nice spot for me to stop because It was a quiet area and I didnt want to keep looking for trailer parking in Cleveland. All around it was a nice place to stay.
We had a very sick relative we were traveling to see there were no regular rooms available in town at all. I called Hampton Inn and Suites they gave us 2 rooms at a bereavement rate. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and spacious. They had a good free breakfast, coffee available at any hour. The staff was very nice and helpful from the front staff to the cleaning staff. I would recommend this hotel 100%
What a great hotel. We were traveling from Wisconsin to NY and needed a rest. This place is a gem. The bedding is fantastic. The temperature controls in the room are spot on, the shower had great water pressure and plenty limitless hot water. The front desk staff were really, really nice. If I owned a hotel in the area, I would steal these folks! It was Christmas night and they had to work, they were so nice. The breakfast was very good for this type of breakfast. We had omelettes, bacon, toast and a good smoothie. The pool is perfect for people traveling with kids.
Beautiful hotel and clean! We chose to stay in Fremont and drive to Put-In-Bay each day, it was only 25 mins away and plenty of food options near hotel. The staff we all nice and helpful and provided list of places that deliver food and even gave local recommendations to help support the community. We enjoyed the pool the most, the workout room is small but got the job done. Also, so many channels on the tv. Just not many options for breakfast because of COVID, only cereal, bagel and yogurt.
The room was pretty spacious. We got a 2 queen bed and 1 hidabed room. It could have been cleaned better. There was trash behind the TV and grime in the shower. The AC barely worked, the mini fridge didnt work at all and you could hear everything going on on the floor above. Staff was mostly knowledgeable and polite. For the price of stay it wasnt worth it for us.
Nothing fancy but they do keep it clean which is key when you need a place to stay. We found the mattresses in a zipped cover which is better than just a regular mattress cover. Friendly staff at the front desk as well. Overall great experience for our one night stay.
I checked in after a long day on the road. Hotel staff was friendly and quick with the check in process. I walked into a clean room with a note on the nightstand wishing me a good night and offering a good night kiss (with hersheys kisses). It put a huge smile on my face after a 14 hour work day. Breakfast the next morning was great, and checkout was quick as well. Would definitely stay there again
Good place to stop for a few nights, long term stays are difficult. Beds are comfortable and the pillows are all nice and fluffy with ranging thicknesses, and heavy comforter. Nice clean rooms and updated bathrooms. Office chairs for the desks kinda suck to work in for more than a little while at a time, and they dont lean back or have arms.... Other than that, no complaints.
I was disappointed in my stay. There is nothing in walking distance for food, they dont enforce the mask policy set in place by the state of Ohio or Hilton. VERY FEW (less than 10%) of the guests wore masks during my early October 2020. The hotel didnt seem to be up to the latest Hampton in standards. I saw very little value in what I paid, and even if it we werent dealing with Covid I wouldnt recommend this property. The two ladies (Adri and another woman) at the front desk during check in were friendly and helpful so I give them thumbs up for that.
Stayed overnight for a fishing charter trip, the hotel overall was clean and welcoming. No strange odors, no bugs, and very quiet. The room was nice, had all the necessities for an overnight stay. My only gripe was the pillows were way too soft, no support whatsoever, I had to use all 4 for support. Other than that, great stay!
Great service and wonderful staff. Breakfast was ok. Eggs, diced potatoes, biscuits and gravy, but it appears they dont serve bacon or sausage on the weekends or holidays. Still pretty good. The gym was nice, but the water dispenser was out of water for the weekend. The A/C in my room had to be reset 1 or 2 times a day or the compressor would kick on. Front desk was great about coming down to reset it. The pool and hot tub were closed for the majority of my stay. Convenient to the Ohio Turnpike (toll). I would stay there again if theyd fix a few of those minor things, serve bacon on the weekends, and open the pool and hot tub. :)
Pay $200 a night and do not get to use the pool or fitness room. Customer service was poor. Front desk attendant answered a personal call while we were checking in and had it on speaker phone. Asked for sheets and got given the wrong size when I called the front desk about getting a replacement I set on hold for a few minutes before walking downstairs to get my them myself.
I cannot explain the awful experience that we had at this hotel. I will say that the management is unprofessional, argumentative, and charged us for damage to a room that we did not cause. (After I was hurt and reported several issues after arrival the guarantee was not honored) This single stay made me, a silver member of Hilton Honors for many many years, delete my Honors app and vow to never stay in a Hilton property again. I am disgusted with this property and beyond disappointed with this company as a whole. I am saddened by this situation.
We requested a crib in our reservation and we preceeded to call as a reminder. Upon arrival, still no crib. No notes on website about housekeeping changes or cold breakfast only. There was mold in our shower, & the shower did not appear clean to begin with. We were in 327 so please clean your shower. The room was already in a rough state.
My room had two queen beds. Very firm, which was fine for me, however my colleagues didnt sleep as well. The pillows were varied, so I was able to find one comfortable for me. Plenty of work space as well as different seating options (stool or chair). There was adequate closet space and hangers. The mini fridge was a bit difficult to get to because the it was inside the cabinet the TV was on, but its door opened the opposite direction. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and Neutrogena bottles of shampoos, conditioners and soap bars. Adequate space and storage on the sink, however only the one roll of toilet paper (no spare) and the faucet on the sink was horribly placed for washing your hands. The night light didnt work, so I had to leave the bathroom light on and close the door some. Walls are paper thin! I was here for 6 days and two of them I thought I had elephants above me. You could hear everything that happened in the hall outside, including what people were saying.Staff were all very friendly and accommodating and they served breakfast in the morning with lots of options. Free Wi-Fi, fitness center and business center as well.
Room was immaculate, as usual. Beeakfast is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is always easily accessible and located where you want them to be. Thats why we always stay at Hampton or Hilton Hotels. We recommend it to all that want a great place to stay.
I just checked out of this hotel and then realized that halfway through my stay they jacked my room rate up an additional $13 and change. What made it worse is when I called to fix this obvious error the woman at the front desk insisted it was all my fault for not reading the fine print when I checked in.Keep in mind I stay exclusively at Hilton brand hotels all over the country, and this has NEVER happened to me before. It’s not a lot of money, but they need to do the right thing. I mean If this is how they treat Hilton Diamond members, I can’t imagine how they treat other people.I’m very disappointed and certainly won’t be back to be ripped off again.
Very clean room very nice room. The staff was extremely nice and the breakfast was good except for the powdered eggs LOL. The maintenance man John oh, let me a tool so I can fix my van to drive the 300 miles home! Special shout out to John thank you so much! Five stars for service
We stayed at this hotel last night. Paid $200 for a room and woke up smelling like vomit. After pulling back the sheet the mattress had clearly been vomited on. There was also mold coming out of the vent of the AC. Even after telling three hotel staff of the issue nobody was really concerned. I guess that explains why I ended up sleeping in a bed that was vomited in the first place. This hotel needs to check their processes for cleanliness. Check your room over carefully before staying here.
Nice place. Rooms are well maintained, beds are comfortable. Bathroom doors in rooms dont lock and are a sliding type door that doubles as the closet door. Breakfast is okay but the bangles are kind of stale and the waffle batter starts to run out near the end of breakfast and they didnt replace it.
We stayed at the Fremont OH Hampton Inn on Friday, 5/31/19 with 2 adults and 3 teen children. We called the day before we arrived to confirm our reservation as well as the hideaway bed. All was good. Arrived for our stay, said hideaway bed was not allowed in the room due to fire code and they were booked and couldnt switch our room or rent us an additional room. We asked for additional blankets and pillows and they refused and said they cant do that. I slept on the hotel floor with one thin blanket in the fetal position all night because I was so cold. We will NEVER stay at another Hampton Inn again and will make sure to spread the word to our friends and family. So much for 100% Hampton Guarantee. Worse hotel experience EVER. Definitely not how you treat guests.
So I go to the manager to let her know our rooms were not cleaned she says ok will tell manager in the morning then another person in my group go back down to get change and the manager is telling another group she just finished dealing with a troublesome group. So let me understand asking why my room was not clean is troublesome. Did I not pay my upon check in should I receive the same standard service as other customers. When did Hilton become this type of establishment
Alittle more pricey than other Hampton Inns. The shower wall there was gaping crack that was not properly fixed although an attempt was made prior. Aside from those issues the bed was comfy and the room was clean. The stay was what we wanted after a long day of driving.
They treat you right. Hampton Inn has a great rewards program and they really go out of their way here to make your stay feel a little more like home. Showed up and was greeted with a smile and the coffee was still available. Got into the room and there was a goodie bag (only a Silver member) and several notes from the staff. Makes you feel at home and welcome. Slept great and had an even better breakfast spread. Well worth it.
After having car trouble leaving Cedar Point we stopped in Fremont, and had to stay until a service center opened on Monday. The staff was terrific during check-in as we were there before standard check-in time. They got our rooms ready quickly. The next day they offered to drive me to the service center, which was great because cab and Uber services were not running yet. Very nice rooms, great breakfast, and fantastic staff. When we come back to Cedar Point, we will stay here instead of Sandusky. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel.
Heres the thing. I dont know if the other rooms are like this, but the door for the bathroom was the same sliding door for the closet. Because it was a closet door - it couldnt be locked and anyone in the room could hear everything you were doing in the bathroom. Otherwise nice and clean and the breakfast is excellent - eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereal, waffles, excellent coffee, etc. Would stay here again even with the less bathroom privacy.
The suite was extremely spacious with not only two beds and a couch bed but also additional seating and plenty of counter space. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was extensive and delicious. The only drawback is that the sofa cover had a very crinkly plastic cover that was extremely noisy but if you arent going to be using that you will have no issues.
I hate to leave this review but I feel it’s my civic responsibility. There was a bed bug on my pillow (May 2018) at this hotel. We left immediately upon discovering it, on our third day.As an aside, the smoke detectors rattled loudly, constantly, keeping us up all night - when I called to complain to the front desk at 1 AM, they just said, “Oh, yeah, they do that.” (Okay...?) But yeah, the bed bug was the deal-breaker. Management was very understanding and refunded our stay; it was implied this place may have had bed bugs before renovations, but I’m not sure. Either way, they have ‘em now. Thank you to management for refunding us, but buyer beware.
Drove in from out of state on Oct 1st with my kids stayed at Hampton in for 1 night payed around $200 a room we left the next morning checked my card a few days later and was charged $250 extra when I called I was told the manger Ash was on vacation so I would have to wait to speak to the front desk manger I waited all day and was finally able to speak to her asked her why I was charged an extra $250 she told me the house keeper wrote a note saying she smelled smoke in the room I told her I am not a smoker she told me her house keeper wouldnt lie I told her I clearly know the policy and wouldnt smoke in a room especially with my kids in it why would I knowing that its a hotel policy smh I told her I would like to speak to the hotel manager she told me call back in a week too speak to Ash so now I have to wait around I just want my money back so hopefully the manger can resolve this issue when he gets back from vacation
I cant say enough about the clean room we stayed in, thank you Laurie ! The breakfast staff, on the other hand, was a little disappointing and Im going to say it how it was – two women talking in the back, dirty tables & chairs, dirty floors, dirty coffee area. I did report this to the front desk. I rarely would even write a review, so hoping this situation is resolved.
We stayed here as a family when we were going to cedar point :they must have a lot of people who do that because some of their artwork reflected cedar point coasters. It was a bit far to be used for that, but we made it work! The hotel was great... Very clean and safe!
Not so much the Fremont location, but Hilton in general. Enough with the 5 day cleaning schedule and using covid as the excuse. I call BS. Will be steering clear of Hilton till this policy changes. Tired of paying full price for a room and not receiving the services that come with it.
Perfect location right off 80/90 Ohio turnpike. Meghan gave us great options for dinner in the local area. Breakfast was awesome with make your own waffles! Rooms nice and clean- even handwritten welcome note! Morning staff were very friendly and even helped us when printer stopped working in business office. Our next go to place when we come back to visit Lake Erie area. Walmart and other retail located within 5 minutes from hotel.
The hotel smelled clean when we walked in. And our room was very clean. The staff was very accomodating since we had to book last minute because our other hotel had bed bugs. Room was clean and bwds are comfortable. Alot of selections for breakfast. Only downside its a few miles to a restaurant
The lady at the desk was rude, there was a loud rumbling noise intermittently all night long. Dont know if it was air conditioner, elevator, train or what but was not a restful nights sleep. The shower/ tub floor creaked like mad, the towels were sandpaper. When asked how our stay was we said we had better Hampton experiences and the desk person could care less.
My mom and I absolutely love the Hampton Inns, NORMALLY. We stayed at this hotel and the fire alarm went off because the cook burned breakfast. My mom is almost completely deaf and she didnt hear the alarm. THERE WAS NO LIGHT BLINKING to alert her. We were under the impression that all Hampton Inns and Suites had lights with their alarms. We were told there were NO OTHER ROOMS available when we got our room, and as the woman was speaking, my mom said to her, Maam, youll have to speak up and speak slowly, Im very hard of hearing. She said this as she showed the clerk her hearing aid. Never once did the woman say we needed to ask for a disability accessible room, all she said when my mom asked if the price was with her military discount, was yes, this is the only room available. If I wasnt with her, she would never have known about the fire alarm going off. The local fire department said they have to have lights in each room. After we made a complaint, the hotel said, All of our rooms do not have to be ADA compliant. Only a certain number of rooms out of the total rooms available. We are ADA compliant based on our requirements. If at any time, in any hotel your chose to stay at, you need to ask for an ADA hearing compliant room or let the Front Desk know at the time of check in that if no ADA rooms are available that you will need assistance in case of an emergency.Im sorry that you were misinformed by the local Fire Dept. We pass every State Fire Marshall inspection with being ADA Compliant, per the State of Ohio. So, our opinion is that the Hampton Corporation has dropped the ball on this issue. Even if the state of Ohio doesnt require it, it should be something that is told to each person renting a room. If this Hampton wanted to keep up with the reputation of the Hampton Company, then they should include the lights in every room, whether they are required or not.We will NEVER STAY AT THIS HAMPTON AGAIN. Just note people, they dont consider your life worth a lousy little light.
Seems to be a summer destination hotel for family and friend meetups in the summer months. Our fall and spring visit was very different. This one was the 6am ice machine brigade wake up, preceded by feet running and lots of hall chatter until 11:30pm. For thruway travelers not a match. Well skip the warm month layover.
The room lay out is terrible...clearly comfort and noise control for the guest were not considerations. The recent face-lift is shoddy work to say the least. The bathroom tub creaks severely and feels like it will bust through the floor. I was told the contractor didnt put the cement base under the tubs- meaning they are quite aware of the terrible work performed. The barn door on the bathroom is ridiculously hard to open and close. The bed is a brick and the pillows feel like someone handed you a bag of poly fill from the craft store. We love Hampton Inns and stay at them often, but very disappointed with this Hampton and wont be staying here again.
Quite and clean. Thermostat not working correctly heat was on and set at 60 degrees but felt near 80 in the room. Maintenance had it working properly by the time I returned to my room in the afternoon after reporting to the front desk in the morning when I was leaving.
The room had all the amenities a family with 2 teenagers would need. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was suitable. One of the treadmills in the gym was broken but then again the only time I have seen someone else in a hotel gym has been on the internet. After watching those videos, I think I know why the treadmill was broken.
I enjoy the cozy atmosphere, as well as the friendly staff. They upgraded my room for no extra charge to one for convenience. The room with king size bed was already set to a comfortable temperature and the large 55in tv was great as I have trouble reading on smaller tvs. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows like clouds. I am a hilton honors member and travel frequently. I always choose hilton when i can.cheers!!!
Consistent with most Hampton Inns, clean, organized, and the included breakfast had decent quality choices. You know what to expect with this chain, and thats why I go out of my way on trips to book at Hampton. I never want to apologise to my wife for a bad motel experience. The only thing I have an issue with at this location is their WiFi. The access point in the lobby is the only one that works. The rest of the access points were zombies - willing to connect to my device, but not allowing internet access or even challenging for credentials or a pay wall.
Its not better than all the other times you cant get the newspapers without asking ,and bagged breakfasts instead of eating down there and you have to wear a mask until you get into your room expected with virus great rooms best service Clean rooms Clean receptionGreat and amazing overall
Do urself a favor if you are a smoker and stay there after14 or 16 hrs in a small car and your clothes smell like smoke don’t stay here! The few hrs I stayed there I went outside 5 different occasions to smoke ! The manager charged me 250 dollars because I smelt like smoke then when I called was very rude hung up on me multiple occasions! If u smell like smoke do yourself a favor go somewhere else! They need to change policy to we charge 250 to anyone who smokes regardless of if u smoke in room
Gym, business center, lounge, breakfast bar, board games in lounge area with all the pieces, pool and hot tub,(We didn’t get to use as someone allowed there child to defecate in both🤢) *not the hotel fault* Landry room @$2.50 per wash and $2.50 dry😱, small convince store chips, drinks, candy, ramen type soup, meeting rooms available, restrooms on 1st floor for convience😁, food and shopping less than 2 miles South of hotel.

2022-07-11The room was great, the pool was a little small but nice. On Sunday I got yelled at for adding the chocolate chip to my sons waffles by the lady working the breakfast area. Nothing around told me I couldnt. Then the elevator broke. So with bad knees the only way to bring our stuff down and get out was the stairs. I understand it broke from kids playing in it Saturday night. But when you have a hard time walking down stairs and there is only one elevator.

2022-05-31Very expensive for service received. The rooms had sticker wood floors in the entry and bathroom. Dirty carpets in bedroom. Pool opened at 9 but was still dirty from night before and no towels at 10. Room notes said to call for new bathroom towels but on day 2 at 7pm when asking front desk for new towels was told “the kids at the pool took over 50 towels so we have none left”. This is an 82 room hotel with a pool and no capacity to wash more than 50 towels? Also cost was $180 a night. Hilton needs to check who they allow to manage their franchisees cause this was very sub par.

2022-04-20Positive: Right off the interstate Negative: Checked in to the hotel with the desk employee smelling like heavy marijuana! Horrible. The dust ruffle had something spilled on it. The shower wall was cracked and the walls in the bathroom were peeling and holes were repaired very poorly. Not worth the$

2022-06-25The showers tubs are all sorts of squeaky… only had half roll of TP in our room… no towels in the pools… couldn’t find anyone by front desk when wanting to buy some supplies… rooms service comes every 4 days, and saw people stealing stuff off the cart when they were busy cleaning rooms…

2022-01-20Inkompetent staff. During check in the recetion failed to change a common reservation into my HH account and with my name on the invoice. When I noticed during check out and ask for correction the receptionist told me, she csnnot do, she is brandnew, the GM will do. Bothing happened and I have to call. This customer service is called proactive, isnt it? And they are not able ....By the way, breakfast is poor.

2021-06-06I had three rooms in this location, the rooms were not stocked properly with enough linen. One of the beds in my room has wet sheets on them with stains and crumbs on it. Since the hotel was sold out they could not change my room. The manager was unapologetic and in no way tried to rectify the situation. On top of that, I had to go to the front desk to get new linens for the bed myself. Pretty poor customer service and I will never return to this property.
