Very happy with our stay at the Hampton. The front desk staff was very helpful, courteous, and professional. The rooms were spotless clean and the hotel was well maintained. Even with health restrictions, they still managed to have a reasonable breakfast and provided coffee and hot water for tea all day long. Great location (restaurants and places for incidentals very near by), great service. Will definitively keep coming back here when in the area.
Second time staying in a Hampton and both times have superseded my stays with Marriott. Clean rooms, allowed us to check in early, and I love the free water bottles that Hampton offers. Edie (check-in staff) was the nicest person. Large TV in the room was great. We enjoyed the pool but were disappointed that the hotel no longer has a hot tub (something we always look for), as it’s been tiled over. A little pricey overall but you get what you pay for. I looked into nearby hotels that were $20-40 less and the reviews were horrifying. I’ll happily pay a little more for a clean, comfortable room with extra friendly staff and a great breakfast. So far Hampton Inn has been a winner for me; they won me over from Marriott.
Hotel was clean and well maintained like all Hampton Inns. My only disappointment was the unavailability of the breakfast buffet on one day of my stay. The signs posted throughout the hotel said that the breakfast buffet was unavailable due to staffing shortages. I understand that Hampton is experiencing the same staffing issues as almost all service businesses, but if an expected amenity is not available the nightly rate should have been adjusted accordingly.
I stayed here for multiple nights after my car broke down during a cross country drive, and I felt lucky, because it was the best hotel I stayed in for my whole journey. The rooms were clean, they had 24 hour coffee and tea service, a nice gym with good equipment, and the hotel staff were super helpful. They even helped me to plug in my car so I could make it to the dealership to get it serviced. The general manager was very professional and friendly. The cleaners are clearly working really hard as well, I saw them hustling from room to cart to get the rooms ready, as the hotel was sold out multiple nights I was there. I never expect much of hotel breakfasts, but they had the standard fare of cereal, juice, etc. I would recommend going to the great grocery store down the street and using the fridge in your room if you want to have something a little fancier / healthier. Overall A+
Previous stays at this hotel have been fine but this stay had issues - no full breakfast 3 of 5 nights (just a paper bag with a couple of breakfast bars, water and maybe a piece of fruit). The full breakfast was fine the days it happened. We were told by a staff member that she would credit $10 for each of the days with no breakfast but that never happened - why is this automatic? We also requested housekeeping once during our stay but it never happened - no explanation from the hotel, no apology, no effort to take care of it.Did have noise from the room above one night that sounded like kids running around.Overall the room was fine but the service was lacking. If the hotel cant provide all the services due to staffing shortages, shouldnt the rooms be discounted?
Stayed here several times over the years. Staff is always pleasant and the rooms are always clean. It wasnt until I stayed at a fancy NYC hotel that I realized how far ahead of the curve the Ashland hotel is.It allows you to plugin your own devices into the TV. My twin room had 2 computer desks and a microwave/mini fridge. It also has plenty of USB charging ports around the night stand. My favorite feature was the slide out drawer for device charging.
The lady at the front desk was so helpful getting our rooms close to each other. She did inform us the pool was not available but that was not a problem for us.The room were very clean and tidy, the bathroom was quite large and the shower was great.Comfortable stay but as mentioned by another revivor we could hear the guest upstairs walking around, we took our shoes off!
Staff was friendly, attentive & helpful. Beds were very, very comfortable & room was clean. Room amenities were great compared to other chains at a similar star rating/price. There was even an embossed seal on the toilet paper role that added a touch of hospitality while also adding to the sanitized feel of the room.I liked that the parking lot was well lit as we arrived at night and the way breakfast was served. Breakfast was one hot entree with supplemental cold options, served to you. The biscuits & gravy was good and it was much preferred to have one good hot option then a lot of mediocre food. Although, I am sure it is more work for the staff, I appreciated one person serving items. It was much more appealing than everyone serving themselves from a cleanliness perspective. We were offered a water bottle on our way out and that was one of the most curtious gestures I have recieved in all of my hotel stays. Needless to say, the second night of our trip we stayed at another hotel. The stay was adequate, but did not compare to the service & quality of our first night @ the Hampton Inn :)
We stayed for Inkcarseration. When we first got there we were about 20 minutes early, so we had to wait. Front desk was very kind. However ended up having to wait until 3:30 for a room when check in was at 3. Front desk stated that a house keeper had left early, and had left 16 rooms for the other house keepers. Once our room was available on a floor we did not request we went ahead and accepted the room. Once we got the room in the shower on the wall was black mold in the grout, the telephone cord had food on it, mildew was present in the corners of the sliding doors, and inside the entertainment stand was a pair of childs socks. Through out the days we stayed every time we took a shower I never felt clean, I felt a residue on my skin that felt slimy not sure if its something they put in the water or what? The bed was super hard and could not sleep well at all. When we went to have our breakfast that they offered, another guest who was staying decided that they wanted to go back and grab five plates for their table. I also witnessed this same guest was by themselves. And I am not one to judge, however there was no food left for others and I felt the person who was preparing the food was unable to keep up due to that one guest. And I feel bad for the person who was making the food due to the demand caused by the guest. However as I had stated before the people working there are very friendly and very apologetic. But all in all I feel there is a lot of changes that need to be made. And I feel that the housekeeping manager should double check the rooms before giving them to guests. I feel my husband and I should have received some sort of a discount due to the conditions of our room and the fact of having to wait a half an hour just to get a room on a separate floor from what we requested.
Overall a clean, relatively new hotel. A little skimpy on room items like only 1 bar of soap to be used for sink and shower and limited plastic cups (only 1 in room or none) for water. We stayed 2 separate nights while heading to and back from our destination. Breakfast was available first trip and it was adequate. Btw, Dunkin Donuts is located just down the road. Second trip they provided to-go bags as they were short staffed and could not service the breakfast.
The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and went out of her way to give us options for a restaurant with outside seating. I told her we were not advised of the pool being out of service by Hilton booking. She was apologetic and advised they were having trouble getting the pool part needed during the pandemic. The hotel and room were very clean but, hours after being in our room we found black mold on the wall behind the curtains on either side of the air conditioner and called the front desk. We were given an upgraded room which was mold free and very clean.
Polite, courteous staff greeted us promptly and found us a room at a comparable, fair rate despite not having a reservation. They gave a good local food recommendation! The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom felt luxurious and had plenty of space for toiletries and enjoying hot water with good water pressure (its softer water, so use less soap if youre used to hard water). The grab and go breakfast had several options and was filling. The bed was comfortable and had several soft, fluffy pillows. Checking out was simple, though we did discover that we couldnt use the complementary wifi because they misspelled our last name (and accidentally used my spouses middle name instead of their first name for the booking).
Great hotel in Ashland! We stayed here for a quick overnight visit, and we were all impressed with how clean, organized and comfortable the hotel is. The beds were superbly comfortable, bathroom was tidy, the room was spacious and it suited us perfectly.Well be back (if and when our daughter becomes an AU Eagle!)ps. Our daughter did become an AU eagle student/athlete, she is now in her last semester ... and we have stayed at this hotel several times, when we came down to visit her.
This place was way understaffed no bfast mon and Tue room service was terrible lady next door was complaining about everything the tub having 3 inches of standing water while she showered and finding 4 ft long hair on the sink which she brought in paper to the front desk wow this is bad ibdont know why I give 3 stars but this was a rare occasion to be this bad for this chain
Three star in relationship to other Hampton Inns Ive stayed in. I feel that the Hampton Inn line is great overall. Most of my concerns mostly come from the area restrictions on Covid including a closed pool, spa and breakfast area. The hotels computers werent operational and there was an issue with the internet. The staff was great to work with and the hotel is clean.
Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is new, very clean andcomfortable. The room was clean and had all the usual amenities (fridge, TV, iron/board, hair dryer). The charging station next to the bed was a nice touch. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. All our service was excellent!
The Hampton Inn & Suites Ashland was a very nice hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful and the look of the hotel and room was very modern. The room I stayed in was nicely laid out and had 2 Queen beds, a micro fridge, and plenty of storage. The bathroom was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My only issue was one of my beds was definitely broken as it made terrible noises whenever I laid on it. This wasnt a real issue as I had another bed but an issue nonetheless. Other than the bed everything else was fantastic and I definitely recommend staying here as its centrally located and very clean.
Great place. Very nice and pretty. The only complaint I have is the soft water and the towels. Ill never understand why some hotels feel the need to soften the water that much. When rinsing in the shower, you cant even tell if youve rinsed all of the soap off. The towels are small and rough. Other than that, the place was awesome.
Really enjoyed our stay here wish it had been longer I chosen Hampton Suites in Buffalo as well. This was definitely a newer Hampton Suites in Ashland. It was extremely clean the room was very comfortable and large bathroom was excellent nice pool and great workout room for what we needed the staff in the evening when we came in late was exceptional we got there just in time for the brunch buffet so it was a little bit limited nonetheless we enjoyed our stay
This is a newer hotel with nice decor and friendly staff. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very well insulated and quiet. Continental breakfast was adequate, waffles, cereals, breads, a western omlet and sausage patties. My only complaint is the barn style door for the bathroom does very little for muddling the noises coming from the bathroom. This was a bad design choice for people sharing a room.
The room was not appropriate clean, under the bed was a lot of dust and not clean,no complementary tooth paste or tooth brush. The room was a handicap room and not appropriate for us. I ask to change my room to see the truck and a chipper that I just bought, there was more available rooms but thay give me this one. Thanks, Carlos
I I always enjoy staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Ashland Ohio from the moment you walk in the door and to the time you leave the staff does everything to make you feel welcome and right at home. the rooms are always very clean. the hotel itself is very up-to-date and well taken care of. each room is equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with supplies, ironing board and iron. and if you happen to forget one of those personal items you need a call to the front desk and they will provide it for you. the hotel self surrounded by several restaurant choices close by. There are also grocery, coffee shops and other stores nearby if you need other items during your stay. the breakfast buffet that they have in the morning from 6 a.m. To 10 a.m. has a wonderful variety the food is fresh and hot and the the staff always inquiries is there anything they can do or provide you with. a perfect place place for a overnight stay or for a family getaway to enjoy the weekend.
This is a great hotel, fairly new, very clean and well kept. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and spacious. There is a breakfast in the morning with plenty of options including eggs, sausage, bagels, pastries, waffles and cereals. I would highly recommend this hotel.
My daughters and I stayed at this hotel January 23-27, 2019. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel itself and its staff. It started the moment we were greeted. We were all grumpy, having driven 10 hours, and the kindness of the front desk staff turned our moods completely around. The hotel was spotless, even though it was impossible not to track snow in on your shoes/boots. (I have no idea how they managed to pull that off.) The rooms were immaculate. The in-room refrigerators and microwaves were extremely convenient, as we could bring back leftovers from restaurants, instead of feeling like we were wasting food. The pool was cleaned with saltwater, which was nice. Very comfortable mattresses. Great water pressure in the shower. And the soap! For the first time since I started chemo (last summer), my skin didnt itch! It seems like a small thing, but the housekeepers SMILED and greeted us every time they saw us. My greatest praise, however, must be reserved for Carol, the Queen of the Breakfast Bar. The food was delicious! It felt like we were eating out at a restaurant every morning, only better because we didnt have to traipse through the snow to go anywhere. The food was so good, we literally didnt even get hungry when it was lunchtime. (And, really, lunch after Carols spread would have been a let-down anyway.) Many times, Ive noticed, the breakfast area at hotels is uglier the later it gets. Not this one! The counters were immaculate, the milk cold, the coffee fresh, and the food hot. Shes magic. I have no idea who the manager is there, but it was obvious to me that the employees were really happy working there because it manifested in how they treated their guests. My girls and I felt it. If you are debating whether to stay at Hampton or another hotel, stay at Hampton!
Have stayed in places all over the United States , but never experienced a more comfortable hotel or a friendlier more helpful staff. The front desk lady was such a pleasure , saw me drop my Grandaughters pacifier and took it to rinse for me. And house keeping treated us like gold. Thanks for the wonderful stay !
The pool was very cold(we couldnt stay in it for any amount of time) and kind of dirty. The breakfast was iffy.. milk was warm. A staff member was quite rude when asked a question. When house keeping arrived we told them to hang on a second and she proceeded to try and open the door. But the room was VERY clean.
Understandably during corona bs. But paying same prices. No breakfast of any kind, no housekeeping even upon request, no business center to access printers. I needed to speak with hostess a few times about rooms and things. Had to checkout to check back in but thats besides point. Wait 10-15 minutes for someone to come out if their back office to even assist
Pleasant staff, very clean rooms, and a good breakfast. The only reason why I didnt give more stars is because my mom booked our rooms 2 months in advance and asked them to have our rooms beside each other. Turns out, I was on the 3rd floor while my mom was on the 2nd.
What a gem! We stopped here, on the fly, on the way to our final destination. Super clean, the free breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very helpful. They recommended a great locally owned steakhouse, Jakes, nearby that was fabulous too. We were so happy with our stay that we booked it to stay for our trip home. If i had to complain, ot would ne that the beds were so comfotable that we slept later than we planned.
Very nice place. Clean, utilitarian to a fault. One door for both the bathroom and the closet. You can either close the bathroom door, or the closet door because they are literally the same door on a roller you slide back and forth. Huge TV though if you get a chance to use it.
This is a long one...but bear with me in order to avoid reservation block issues! ...The only reason I even give this hotel 1 star is because, yes, it was very nice and clean. (As they should be) However, dealing with the hotel was a nightmare. I dont like to leave reviews but I want to warn people who may find themselves in a similar situation. When you call to reserve rooms, it gives you the option to push 1,2, or 3 to reserve a room, etc. We needed to reserve a block of rooms for our wedding guests so we pushed the correct number for reservations. It then transfers you to another country where they carry out the task of reserving a block of rooms. So we did this with the man on the phone, all the while I was weary because he did not sound confident at all and could not answer simple questions. Looking back I blame myself for not following up to see if everything worked correctly knowing he was unsure of what he was doing. Anyways, so we put the wedding block under our last name and he never informed me that not only guests have to provide the confirmation number, but my phone number as well. So that was not provided on the invitations, just that you could reference our last name. Again, I should have known better. So I have guests texting me telling me that they cannot find a block. So Im calling and the people from the other country are not understanding my question and cant find my block. So I realize to push 0 for the operator instead, which took me to someone that is physically at the hotel and could be of assistance. The lady was very sweet, but holy cow she did not make the situation any better. She told me that the people I booked through from another country were not a part of their company and that is why it is messed up... Which im thinking in my head, dont you guys coordinate together and have access to the same reservations ha?(But what do I know) After I worked it out with her what was going on, she assured me that the block was there and all the guests had to do was push 0 and ask for a room in the Wilkinson block on August 12th. Simple, right? So I went back and re-informed all my guests that I thought would be utilizing the hotels of what to do. I get texts back again saying, they still cant find the block. I had to get in touch with her multiple times to tell her, yet again, that someone was trying to reserve a room and why are you telling them it isnt there? I had to deal with this for up to two weeks before our wedding. And apparently she told no one else in the hotel about this situation because every time we called and needed assistance with the situation and she wasnt there, the other employees had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. In my head, Im thinking...you cant leave a simple note? Or sticky note somewhere? That says Wilkinson block IS available and here is how you find itI know I dont know the ins and outs of how hotels work, and I tried to be very patient with them on the phone, but this was the most stressful part of our wedding when it should have been the easiest part. I am not placing all the blame on the woman I was dealing with, but I am placing blame on the system this company uses because clearly something is not working right when none of your employees can give us the help we need for a very simple request. And I dont understand the point of a third party reservation company from another country when that doest run smoothly either. Either way, I will not be staying at Hampton Inn anymore, it isnt worth the stress.
Nice hotel in the midst of a lot of retail shops and restaurants. Clean rooms, free Wi-Fi and free breakfast. Friendly staff. Not too far from Amish country (Berlin, etc.) if you want to visit there as well. Also close to Mansfield State Prison where Shawshank Redemption was filmed - you can take a tour.f

2022-02-12Full disclosure - 5 stars for me is top 5% experience - 4 stars is what I give to most places that hit all of the criteria - 3 stars is an average experience - 2 stars for something that did not go as it should have and 1 star for the 5% worst experiences in my life.Easy check in - Amber super helpful. Big room for 6 people!!!! Really filling hot breakfast!!! Turkey links, scrambled eggs, home fries (red skin potatoes), waffles, oatmeal, tasty muffins, fresh fruit!! Very good, very clean, very friendly!!!! Pool is a little small and a little chilly, but area was very clean and stocked with towels.

2022-05-08Overall great experience. Stayed here with my brother during his night in town from Pennsylvania. The room was clean for the most part but the bedside pull out table still had old coffee stains on it from a previous guest. Kind of makes you question the cleanliness of everything else in the room...

2022-05-24Holes in floors with carpet covering it in multiple areas, some spots sink up to 6 inches. Completely unsafe. Staff completely aware and described the roof as being their primary concern. Room we booked was king bed with sofa couch and room had king with chair. No pillows when we asked so one of us could sleep in the chair. Chair had crumbs in it too. Pool never had towels even after asking multiple times. No hot breakfast as advertised. Definitely not Hilton standards. As a Diamond Elite member weve been at many hotels and were extremely disappointed.

2022-06-14Stayed here recently, no real complaints. Room was clean, staff was nice. The only challenge was that the water was very soft, so when showering/washing my hands, it took forever to feel like the soap had been rinsed off.

2022-03-29I was here for a two day training and it was generally well kept but two things really stood out. One their ice machine was not working at all no sign or indication that it was out. Two their soda selection was sold out for two days. Does anyone restock. The staff was nice but it just appeared as someone dropped the ball. The last thing is the horrible chairs they chose for their meeting room. If you spend more than 30 minutes sitting in them you will begin to hate life.

2022-03-11Great location off of Rt. 95, friendly, helpful, and quick check in. Fresh baked cookies available late in the PM. Rooms are clean, though higher wattage bulbs would be nicer. Definitely recommend and we will be coming back as we travel through this area.
