Half Price Books in other cities:
Great store! Half price books is great for just about everything entertainment wise. Movies, books, games of all kinds, music. Theyve got a good selection of bibles, references, and studies. All in very good condition. Can get a good amount for cheap. You wont get a lot of money selling your stuff here but if you need a couple extra bucks its good for that, or just put it toward your purchase. They also transfer books between stores, so if this store doesnt have what you need and another does they can get it for you. My go to book store.
I absolutely LOVE going here, and its a delight every time I go! They have AMAZING deals, and for every single category too! There is something for literally everyone! I found some books that I had wanted from years ago, but completely forgot about! The store associates were beyond helpful anytime I had any questions, which I greatly appreciated!
Great location one doesnt always expect to find books on the far end of Franklin county right of the cusp of Licking but we are here for it! Always a nice rotating selection of books and other items at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a good experience always. They offer fair prices if you are looking to sell too.
Great experience! I’m moving out of my house and had a bunch of DVDs that I had collected over the years. It didn’t seem right to pitch them, so I brought them into Half Price Books. They gladly took the DVDs, scanned them while I browsed the shelves, and paid me $50 to boot. I feel better knowing that someone else will have an opportunity to enjoy the movies as I had.
I had books that I got from clearing out my parents home that I wanted to donate to the library but none I called are taking donations now. My local library suggested I take them to Half Price Books 📚. I didnt know they bought books but they do. The process is simple; bring up to two medium boxes if books to the buy counter and theyll look up the books on a system that provides the value. You must stay in the store as they do this but it doesnt take long. I got at least what I figured Id get from a garage sale but without the hassle. Sweet!Thank you library and Half Price Books.
This store was small compared to when it was on Brice road. Still lovely people. Not much for the things I used to get like journals and stationary. I love Half Priced Books though and will be a faithful customer. None in Florida, so I had to find out when we moved back here immediately!
*sweating* BOOK.I usually go here first when I want something. Ive also used their buyback service to clear off my shelves, though I will warn people that this is not a lucrative deal for you. If you want real money, sell them yourself through an online service or donate them for a tax return.
My go to book place and this store is my favorite location! I absolutely love Half Price Books. I tend to spend $50 to $75 every time. Never fails lol. I am going there this weekend to get even more books that I found on their website (I dont want to pay shipping). Speaking about the website, I ordered a book for my mom and it was sent to her flawlessly. She received it fairly quickly. Be careful about shipping though because it can add up. I have 5 books in my cart and it says I have to pay $20 in shipping because the books are in different states. If you can go into the store then totally worth getting it there. There is not normally a crowd in there so you have space and every time I go, I see everyone is abiding by the covid rules. All the associates that have helped me are awesome and nice and I have no major complaints. The only thing I would say that Half Price Books needs is a mobile app and a rewards card. They get most of my spending money every month so I would get a ton of rewards ;) My goal is to buy enough books that my children and I want to read and have our own little libraries in our bedrooms. This store will help us achieve that goal! Love you guys!
Half Price Books is an excellent resource forgetting an expensive books especially tools that our children need while studying in school, theyre very helpful and will actually look up the book If you know what you are looking for. The store also has a very wide selection of books on hand for a great price. It is also an open atmosphere allowing patrons to sit and read books theyre in the store much like any Library were high-end bookstore. The shelves are very stocked, the store is very clean, in the employees are extremely helpful. I would always recommend to call here first before paying full price at any other book store.
I took in 2 boxes of books. The size of an office printer paper boxes. So approximately 30-40 books. Both hard & soft back, new & used, childrens, motivational, Christian, novels and workbooks. You wait while they check out your books, they offer a price, and donate the ones they dont stock & resale.I was offered $5. Took my books back home for a yard sale and did better $20 for all.
Im not really much of a book person at all I go mainly for the movies and games. I go to the Blu-ray section they have all of my favorite movies for very cheap even trilogies for Less Than with the stores would have you buy them on. Not that many games to choose from but Im not complaining about the price.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I sold several books for a fair price and didnt have to wait long for an offer. I enjoyed browsing in the store. They have a lot of good books and other interesting merchandise such as new adult coloring books, calendars, CDs, etc.
Great selection of used books and Dvds, and musical CDs. They also have video games. If you cant find what youre looking for, they can search for it through all their stores nationwide & have it shipped direct to your home. Theres always something interesting to find here.
I drove 45 minutes to buy a specific book and planned on browsing while I was there. The manager told me I had to leave as I was not wearing a mask. I informed her that I had a health condition and according to the health department, the governor and the cdc, anyone with a health condition does not have to wear a mask. She informed me that they do not follow the mandate in regards to people with health conditions and gave me a phone number for their corporate office. She pushed me outside to make the phone call even though my 4 year old daughter was still inside. The corporate office informed me that if I leave a voicemail someone will call me back on Monday to file a discrimination report and tell me how to get my daughter back. All I wanted was a book and my daughter back.
As far as book stores go, Half Price books is always a solid choice. The selection of reading material, stationary, figurines, cards, and cute little things to give as a gift is vast and seems to be fairly priced. For new/unused books, though, I do suggest looking elsewhere as its rare that HPB has the lowest price for new titles. This particular location is usually my go-to, despite the fact that the staff is occasionally rude.
I love stopping by Half Price Books whenever nearby. Theres always a decent selection and some harder-to-find books that have been out of print. The staff is helpful and has pointed me in the right direction anytime I had a question. Ive never sold to HPB, so I cannot speak to that experience. The new location on East Broad is really nice as it was brand new when we visited in December 2016, but it felt sterile and not as homey as some of the other locations.
Books, records, CDs, DVDs, and some software make this Half Price paradise the place to go for bargains. The store frequently has sales, and has clearance areas for all of the above. You will discover something new every visit, and there are many unique and special items of all kinds. Well worth exploring and finding things to expand your horizons.
I have mix feelings about this store. its very clean neat and organized however check out is horrible. Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes but when theres a promotion the cashiers never seem to know and they are always rude it seems. I have only wonderful things to say about the rest of the store and my experience but I absolutely dont like check out just because of the attitude and lack of knowledge at check out.
This place must be run by the devil. I walk in determined to buy just one book... just one. And I walk out with 7... I have no knowledge of what happened, the chain of events that lead to my purchase of 7 books over 1.... but it happens every time I go there.Long story short its an awesome place
The books are cheap. They have new releases. Not only do they sell books, but they also sell cds, tapes, albums, dvds, video and computer games, and other various items. Their clearance rack is fantastic. This is my absolute go to book store. However, it has been moved to East Broad Street in Reynoldsburg. The Brice Rd. location is no longer there.
I Love This Store. I Really Want To Work Here, Someday!!! Every since yall moved here from Brice Rd, down the street from where I live, I always said when I got well again, I would either work at HPB or the Public Library. I think this place is way more exciting!!! Lol.
I am split on this place... Part of me loves to go in and buy a bag of books and not break the bank... But dont think about selling your books or youll be ticked off like me.... I brought in three huge bags of books and they wanted to give me peanuts for them... Example they had a rpg book up by the checkout for 150 bucks, I thought I have the whole set from that series which was like 20 books total.... They wanted to give me less than 20 bucks for all of them.... Less than a dollar a book and ur gonna sell one for 149 bucks profit... Ummmmmm no... I get they need to make a profit but at some point it becomes highway robbery.... If they gave me 25% I would of felt like it was ok.... But it wasnt even a whole percentage point.... Even if they offered 10% I could have justified it somehow, but when you tell me to grab my ankles without even an offer of a kiss, well.......... So yes I stopped going in there, only reason I was in there this week was someone else was driving and I didnt wanna sit in the car.... I refuse to give them a dime now.... I had a graphic novel special edition that was like 50 bucks new, I read it one time and put it back in the box.... They will sell it for 25 bucks, what do you think they offered me..... Ten percent wld be two fifty.... They offered me less than a dollar.... Less than a buck.... Ten percent they wld of made 22.50 in profit.... But they wanted to make over 24 bucks.... Again I get you need to make profit but come on.... At some point you went from a capitalist to a robber barron and think its ok.... So yeah I stopped going there... Id rather go buy it new and throw it in the fireplace than to let them make a dime... In fact I hope they go under and then read this and know why.... I have told everyone I know that is a reader about my experience there... And I used to go in there weekly.... I know I spent 20 to 100 bucks every month like clockwork and I always felt great doing it but when I saw the other end of the business it made me sick.... My books are bought read once then put on a shelf, worst thing to happen to them might be dust.... No bent over pages because Im too lazy to use a bookmark or bent up covers cause I wanna use one hand.... Nothing like that, 98% look like new so it wasnt a condition issue it was a greed issue... Ok I have to stop cause Im getting ticked off again.... Id rather but them new and used them for insulation in the attic or burn them for heat than to support this company one bit.....
Im really glad this HPB moved to Reynoldsburg. Its definitely way better than the old location on Brice Road. Its very bright and clean and books are relatively easy to find - especially if you already know what youre looking for. The manga and comic book section has a few gems every now and then too like Rat Queens and Fruits Basket. I hardly ever need help in HPB but when I do, they are very friendly. The childrens section is great too. I only give it four stars, however, because the teen / young adult section is pretty small and I wish the adult fiction books were organized by more genres or something.

2022-05-18I loved their low prices and the feeling you get when you walk into the store. Although, I didnt buy anything they did have books I wanted--but some books (say a manga) had missing volumes, but its to be expected, I suppose.

2022-06-21Disgusting service. Waited over a MONTH for a script to arrive to my house after I ordered it. All to be told (today), once I called and provided the receipt number, that the item maybe wasnt available. That might be what happened. They have no record of an order or my name. (HILARIOUS AS I HAVE ORDERED FROM THEM SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST.....HMMM) corporate greed is everywhere including syphoning my 11.00 (which in the grand scheme isnt a lot but its still mine and not theirs)
