I ordered 2 yards of mulch for next day delivery and it was delivered! They dumped it on tarps which I requested. I ordered the midnight supreme and that mulch is perfect. I have used Hafner previously that’s why I used them again.
Called Monday and a helpful, knowledgeable Associate answered the phone. Helped me with my gravel needs and got it delivered in 1 day. Driver was professional and adaptable to where we wanted it. Awesome service all the way around.
I filled out their online form for an order. They called me back promptly to confirm the order and clarify details. They told me when to expect the delivery. It was delivered exactly as stated and the driver was careful to talk with me first and unload right where I needed. The driver was also courteous and friendly.When I need another order fulfilled I will be returning to H. Haffner and Sons.

I received a delivery of Hafner’s compost last week and it was of high quality. The driver was very careful coming down my narrow driveway which my neighbor and myself appreciated. A pleasant experience all around.
Hafner delivered sand and gravel for a DIY project. They were super helpful to make sure I received the right materials and correct amount. I also had to change the delivery, and Hafner was super accommodating! I’d recommend.

Dave delivered our 1inch washed gravel and the customer service he provided was amazing. I had issues previously when asking their competitor Evans if they would drop it in my firepit, they were rude and un accommodating, while hafners(specifically Dave) dropped it right where I needed it! Great experience from obtaining quote to delivery. I ordered a special mix of top soil and Hafners compost. It’s very nice with lots of worms! Will definitely be my go to from now on.
I appreciated calling on Friday and having. the mulch delivered on Saturday morning. I did not appreciate the driver piling the mulch up against out garage and the truck left a huge oil spot on the driveway.
I ordered firewood and when it was delivered,some of it was caked with mud.The company called me right away and apologized for the wood that was muddy and made things right. I really appreciated that and well use them again.

The top soil is excellent quality. The delivery service was outstanding. The driver was friendly, helpful, and took his time, going out of his way to put 5 yds exactly where I wanted it. He took a lot of care not to tear things up with the truck.

I ordered playground mulch this past weekend and they called me, setup the delivery time and date. This morning the driver called me (10 minutes early) and as soon as I pointed where I wanted the mulch, he dropped it off. The mulch was clean, and they didnt skimp on quantity either. My kids are back out, playing in the back yard again. Highly recommended service!

Custom services sucks. No patience at all. I asked to hold for only one minute for decisions, she just hanged up on me. Do you guys even want any business? Please find someone who would be more patient and professional on answering questions. Will not call back.

This is a great company who really cares about their customers. We had purchased beach sand from them 8 years ago and again this year, we noticed a difference in the color and called them about it. Immediately both the owner and manager came over to take a look and they tried to help us out. They went through 8 years of files to find our first order and assured us the sand is from the same mine and it is due to weathering and should change to match the rest over time and even offered us a free delivery voucher. Also, the driver was amazingly kind and helpful. This is a very honest and caring business I highly recommend.
We ordered 11 tons of crushed limestone for our backyard project. The ordering process was easy and they were super helpful. When they delivered, they dumped it exactly where we wanted it. I had ordered a 1/4 cord of wood, when received wasnt as seasoned as it could have been, there was trouble with it burning. Originally I left a 1 star review. I received a call asking what they could do to fix the situation, they were great, offered to refund me all the money. We had burnt through some of the wood, so I didnt feel it was fair to have them refund me the full amount. We agreed to split the difference. I am very happy with the customer service and that they paid attention to the issue.
H. Hafner delivered soil for our raised bed garden yesterday, and they exceeded every expectation we had. The delivery was on time, the product (Terra Soil) is beautiful, high quality soil for vegetables. And even though he was delivering in pouring rain, the driver took the time to help me put a tarp over the soil. In fact he offered to give me a big sheet of plastic if I didn’t have a tarp. Very happy with H. Hefner’s produce and service.
From the phone order to delivery was smooth, courteous and professional. The person who took my order helped me decide on the best soil for my vegetable garden and the delivery man came when he said he would. The soil was as described on the phone. The delivery driver was great. Dealing with the office was terrible. The office, when called about a truck discrepancy due to the street being narrow was rude and condescending and also contradicted the conversation I had originally when I ordered. I will never deal with Hafner again and would never recommend them to anyone. I would stick to ANY other company that can assist you with your landscaping needs.

Ordering was easy and quick over the phone. The soil we ordered (terra-mix) arrived right on time and was dropped exactly where we requested. The whole process was simpler and more pleasant than expected. And the best part? The dirt is beautiful - just perfect. I cannot wait to get it in our beds.

We have been buying mulch and stone from Hafners a few years now. Every time I call, they have been so helpful and friendly! They have answered all my questions--no matter how many! Also every single delivery driver has been a saint. We have a tricky driveway and they always manage to navigate it, no compliants. And the product they deliver is top notch. I cannot say enough good things about this company!
They were great! I shopped around for prices and soil types and they were very competitive and had a great selection. They were very quick to respond and schedule too. I got my delivery within 24 hours of placing the order! The driver was very friendly and professional. He went the extra mile to dump the soil in the exact spot I needed it in my backyard. We got a load of the garden mix for raised beds and a load of the triple shredded mulch. The mulch was great as always, the garden mix was very good, bit a clay clumps, but good over all. Delivery on time, even a bit early.

I filled out the order form and heard back right away to schedule delivery. The delivery was on time and employee was kind and professional. The dirt seems like good quality, I did find a remnant of a can in there but I dont think its indicative of the overall quality. Definitely recommend and will be returning for future needs.

Went in to get a yard of topsoil to fill a couple holes in my yard. They let me stand there for 3 minutes without saying a word. No other customers. Just pretended I wasn’t there. Then were annoyed when I didn’t know where to go in their place to get the topsoil.
No issues. My phone call to place order was quick and efficient. The top soil was delivered the next morning as scheduled. Price was as quoted. Delivery spot was exactly where I wanted it. Have used H Hafner’s many times in the past and will continue to do so in the future. THANKS!

I ordered 10 tons of limestone and had it delivered to my house. The service was quick and painless. I was not home at time of delivery but left instructions and they were followed and the gravel was dumped in the exact spot I wanted it. I would recommend them to anyone and will be using their services again in the future. Job well done!!
We called to get a lot of sand delivered within 48 hours. They told me no problem and very efficiently took all my information. The morning they showed up to deliver it, the delivery driver was so incredibly nice! He even very carefully spread a tarp, that I provided, on the driveway before he dumped the sand. Excellent experience!
We were happy to receive delivery of firewood during a hurried time in our lives when we couldnt get to cutting/splitting our own. The delivery driver was really nice and enjoyable in a nice conversation. I was even a bit shocked that they bring plastic to spread that would help cleanup after moving the dumped product. Its rare to have this type of interaction during normal times in life and now with the CoronaVirus causing so much polarity, these enjoyable times are far more rare. I would only say that the delivery fee could be a bit more reasonable. Thanks Hafner, please keep up the great work!
Great from the sales team to the driver, really a great group to work with. Verified how much mulch we needed for our playset, and on the day of it being dropped the driver worked with us on where to get it dropped at. Would recommend and use in the future.
I called for a delivery order of two yards of their Midnight Magic Supreme mulch and it was in my driveway an hour and a half later. I don’t have the means to pickup the mulch so delivery is a great service they offer.
Ordered a couple tons of topsoil online, got a call the next day to pay and work out details of delivery. Driver showed up on the scheduled date (a bit early, even) and unloaded the topsoil exactly where I needed it. Topsoil seems great, but Im no dirt expert lol. Not a lot of clumps or rocks/debris, which is what Id expect. Overall a smooth experience and great product.

We got a firewood delivery and are very pleased with our interaction with people we dealt with. Office personnel who answered phone was friendly, helpful and very easy to deal with. Delivery man was polite and arrived right on time. Wood is perfectly stacked right where I requested. My only suggestion is that it would have been nice to know there would be extra charge for delivery beyond 20 feet but I will definitely do business with them again!
The person with whom I spoke on the phone was very helpful. The soil I ordered was delivered 2 days later as we had scheduled. The driver was friendly and courteous. This is a very professional, customer-oriented business.

I am a new homeowner with no clue to how to do yard work. But I could clearly see my yard was in need of some TLC. I called H. Hafner and Son to answer some basic questions. The gentleman customer service rapport was excellent, educational, enlighten, and just over all a pleasure to speak with. The delivery gentleman was the same. Just Perfect in every since of the word! I placed an online order late Friday afternoon, received a phone call on Saturday morning, and had topsoil delivered to my driveway before 10 am that same day. My experience with Hafner was great from beginning to end. When I ordered, the gentleman on the phone was very informative and helped me decide which type of dirt I needed and how much.The delivery man was very detailed; making sure that he safely backed in to dump the dirt at just the right spot.I totally recommend Hafner’s.

Just good people!This is the third time Ive taken delivery from Hafner. Their soil mix is outstanding, they deliver on time, and for the price they were definitely the best deal.Their customer service is knowledgeable, and their drivers, polite and professional, can place four tons of soil on a dime!
They state that the firewood is seasoned. It is definitely not seasoned. It is freshly split wet wood.
The man who answered the phone was extremely helpful in assisting me place my first bulk mulch order. The mulch arrived just a few hours later and the delivery guy was just as nice! Best mulch I’ve ever used.

Hafners is my preferred mulch supplier. Their mulch is higher quality than their competition closer to my home. It lasts 2 years which results in a substantial savings. I can recommend highly their midnight magic supreme. Good stuff and great customer service!
Ordered 3 yards of the Hafners Compost for starting some raised beds as well as prairie seedlings. Was very impressed with the quality of the compost. Also very happy with the on time, prompt delivery. Plan on ordering more.
Easy to order. Website was easy to navigate. Delivered exactly as requested. Price was quoted when the company representative called me back. My only quibble and it’s fairly minor was not getting an itemized receipt as I wasn’t sure what the delivery charge was and whether it was a flat fee or based on distance.
They always have good products, just a bit disappointed with the customer service. The girls behind the counter are usually noticeably unfriendly and more interested with the dog thats sometimes there than looking up or even responding to you while taking your order/money. I dont think Ive ever been there or called them and not thought, Wow, they were fairly unpleasant! I just paid a bit more money for a few yards of mulch from another supplier merely because they were friendly!Hafner, if youre paying attention, teach your employees the importance of being nice to customers. It goes a long way!
Great product! My yard looks phenomenal. I do believe they dumped more than I requested (I also could have over calculated) but now I have 2 neighbors who are happy with the product as well!!

Ordered a cord of firewood, scheduled it over the phone and everything went according to plan. Delivered in the time window, driver did an amazing job of maneuvering a giant truck into our tiny driveway for the delivery.
“Seasoned” firewood is a bit of a stretch. Likely split in the last few days. Took forever for the wet wood to get going, would not recommend unless you’re going to let it sit for a year. And the guy that loaded my truck couldn’t have been less happy to be there.
I just received a delivery. However, I asked the driver to put the bags of mulch on the side of the house. He said no problem. I get home from dropping off my kids at school and see the bags in the driveway. What gives? As a note a gentleman from Hafners just called and explained to me the policy of dropping off mulch to the driveway due to liability of transporting mulch up steps. I very much appreciate the promptness of the phone call.
Shopped two places for topsoil. Hafner & Sons had a significantly better price and would deliver sooner. They delivered precisely when they said they would. Great experience!
I ordered river rock. The order came the day and time needed. The driver called to see where I wanted it dumped. He was very nice on the phone. Will be purchasing more from Hafner.
The worst customer service. Not courteous. Rude. We even took a sample of the gravel we needed as we wanted a perfect match--and they gave us the wrong gravel!! Dumped it off where the original gravel was, left and refused to waive the delivery fee to deliver more gravel, which we would now need because it was so different from the original. Unprofessional!! Even my landscaper who has the most pleasing personality felt they were extremely rude when he went to place the order.
My bf was driving home from work. He was two cars behind the hafner and sons truck. The drive shaft fell out of the truck. The car in front of him swerved out of the way leaving his car stuck ontop of the drive shaft. The drive shaft completely ripped out his break lines. While waiting for me to leave work and come pick up my bf, the truck driver came back and called his companys mechanic. The mechanic showed up and repaired the company truck, while also grabbing the trucks driveshaft out from underneath my bfs car. They left before the tow truck could get there. My boyfriend called the company and got hung up on twice basically telling him its not their problem...hmm causing someones breaks to rip out of their car possibly causing more damage to other people in front of him, or even death is not their fault because they dont know how to take care of their trucks. Later, another family member tried to call and they told us that it was not their problem and was casual road debris and refused to pay for the damages that their vehicle caused and again hung up. Their has been a police report filed and possibly going to small claims court. Be careful, this company doesnt seem to want to own up go their mistakes or pay for any damages that they may cause.
Ordered virgin shredded topsoil. It was more like clay than topsoil. Not completely happy with the soil. Also ordered hafners compost which was a good mix.
This is the second time Ive bought bulk material from them, and both times Ive been disappointed at the amount of material. Their yard of both mulch, and now garden soil, is MUCH less than a yard of material Ive purchased from other places.I ordered 8 yards of soil this week, was told I would receive a phone call when the driver was on his way. The driver showed up early, and I never got a phone call, so my wife was the one who accepted the load. When I was finally able to see the pile, I was surprised to see what looked like 6 yards of soil sitting there.They also charge what I feel to be an exorbitant price for delivery. They charged just over $60 to deliver those 8 yards, then they tacked on another $15 for fuel surchargeWhat does the $60+ delivery fee cover, if you are also charging for fuel?With taxes and all those fees, my $190 worth of soil was nearly a full $100 more.I was very displeased with what I felt was overcharging fees, while also shorting on material.

Unprofessional customer service staff. Have gone a few times with the same truck to use the landfill. One day I go in get charged my normal rate and a nongentleman eyeballs my load and comes in and tells the front desk to charge a higher rate after they rang my card up.. they void my payment and go to charge me more and say if I dont like it heres my card and go somewhere else. I went somewhere else and it was less than my original rate. Never again.
Fast service and great price. Only concern I had was when delivered there was a little yard waste and rocks mixed in with the sand I had delivered. Workers were friendly and great to work with.

Just a review for those looking for firewood. The website states a 1/4 cord for $70. I live in Anderson Township, not far from their location, and I was quoted $128. I confirmed that would be $58 for delivery- no stacking just a dump of the wood! Needless to say you can find better pricing, so do not let the online pricing fool you.
I ordered a delivery scheduled this morning for 9am and it is now 10:30am and my delivery has not arrived yet. I have a deadline for this job and they promised. I will not do delivery service again. Just goes to show if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. But this bad delivery service didnt stop them from deducting the payment from my account on time...smh just sayn

From the owner to the person answering the phone; very disrespectful. Treated us as if we did not know what we were talking about just because we were a residential owner and not a company. Person making topsoil delivery was not professional; and pulling out of our driveway, hit our car parked on the street but did not stop. Tried to talk to the owner and the lady at the front desk said she was the owner but days before the same lady said the owner was not in and hed have to call you back. Got the run around for a week and still offered no assistance. The only person who was courteous was one of their dumpster delivery drivers.
I bought the garden mix soil from this establishment last year (late May/early June ‘17). I was initially impressed with the (almost $300 purchase) mound of soil sitting in my driveway until I began to shovel it into the wheelbarrow. The soil contained pieces of glass, hard plastic, plastic bags, burlap sack material, rocks and lumps of asphalt!! I only noticed a few aged leaves, which aren’t finely shredded. The consistency of the soil turned out to be more clay than what is advertised “50% topsoil, 30% aged horse manure, 20% aged leaf mold. This material has a high level of organic content while still retaining the properties of soil.” The drainage is poor, when it’s dry it’s always rock hard with clumps on top and underneath, there’s no air space, I have a hard time digging my fingers through it and the plant roots seem to have a difficult time growing. With all the products they manufacture, I wonder if the soil that was delivered to me was commingled with a previous delivery. I would love a refund or to be compensated with better soil.
Great customer service, friendly and accommodating driver
A few years ago, I had received a bid from Justin the owner for a Demo project. When we were ready to start the project, I called to have them do it, but I didn’t realize the Bid had an expiration date that we had missed by 30-60 day’s. Justin wouldn’t honor the contract, re-quote it, or even return my phone calls. They totally turned the project on its head and I had to start completely over getting bids from other companies because they wouldn’t honor the bid, requote it, or return phone calls. If you didn’t want the work, don’t bid on it in the first place and be professional and at least return the phone calls and explain why you wouldn’t do the work, requote it, etc. if you think you underbid it, man up and explain it or explain whatever your reasoning is for not taking on the work and ghosting the customer.
Really good firewood, split well and moisture content is always the best. Drivers are great too.
Amazing service. I had no issues contacting them when I needed, everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful, and the 2 deliveries I had were on time, if not early. Couldnt have asked for better service.
Submitted online order for 3 yards of mulch at 6:15 AM. Had mulch in my driveway at 9:00 AM. Amazing.

All of my deliveries are within the time frame I am told. I get the right product and right amount every time, sometimes even more than what I asked for I am very happy with Hafner.
Ordered 3 yards of Virgin topsoil. After the delivery I found trash in the dirt. I paid 183.00 for the delivery to milford which was a little expensive.
Knowledgeable office staff, excellent products, reasonable price, friendly competent delivery.... H. Hafner is my go to source... but I still need to drop by the truck museum on day.
If you are goofing around and dont care about schedules then order a dumpster from Hafner. But if you are serious about getting things done when you need to get them done then call somebody else. These guys are unprofessional. I ordered a dumpster, scheduled my labor and waited for a call back from Hafner and didnt get one so I called them and was told I was on a waiting list (which I wasnt told in the first place). It was too late to call a professional rental service and get a dumpster when I needed it and my work was doubled or tripled because I couldnt put it in a dumpster in the first place.They need to stick to putting mulch in trucks or trailers and leave dumpsters to the pros.
Friendly, and helpful staff. Delivery time was available earlier than scheduled. They called and asked if it was ok to deliver early vs. just showing up.
Although backing in the dock door a little tricky, loaded very fast. I was there only 45 minutes including check in, back in, loading process, signing BOL check out.

Pine Fines were placed exactly where I requested. I ordered online and that went well. This is the 2nd year in a row for this type material. We like it a lot.
SOOO disappointed in the quality of dirt delivered for my garden beds. I ordered 3 yards of the garden mix. What I received was mostly top soil and trash. Cans, glass, rope, and lots of rocks were among things that had to be hand removed by me from this dirt. Lots of clay and hard chunks of dirt as well.
They are not very neighborhood friendly. The do not clean up dirt in the street that drops off vehicles leaving their place. They do not allow trucks to use their driveway apron which would reduce time Wooster is blocked by trucks trying to get in the paperboard loading dock.
Dirt needed for raised gardens. Order girl said truck would not fit thru gate making along distance 2 octogenarians to barrow 3 yards of topsoil. Driver got past gate and put load where we wanted it. Got it all shoveled in the same day and swept up before the rains came.Thanks!

Quick delivery in large stay dry bag. Wood is cut to the perfect size to burn so there is no need to recut pieces yourself. Highly recommend.

Today June 2nd 2018. 4 trucks in line. I parked inline walked inside to see what kind of rock I wanted. Within 2 minutes a strange man jumped in my truck put it in neutral and moved it. I came over wondering why my truck was moved by a Hafner Employee, He explained why the F*** I left my truck where I did. I told him I was inline and the other 4 trucks had just moved up In the last 2 minutes. He Expressed a lot of anger while Cursing and swearing at me that I should not have left my truck where i did. I promptly left and never to return. I may be a small fish in the water, however I do believe my money is still green the last I checked.

I actually want to rate 0 stars as our work has not been done. Hafners came out in May to bid a job and we were told when we accepted bid the job would be done the end of July. Mid August when it wasnt started I emailed and was told 3-4 weeks until start. Now almost end of October and no sign of work being started. They are not responding to emails or returning phone calls.
Purchased 1/4 cord.Paid more than initial purchase and received less wood.That said theyre good people and the wood is up to par.
Firewood loaded in my truck for a great price, but when I got home and unloaded it WAY too much unusable rotted wood... friendly folks but I’ll look elsewhere next time.

Pricing is great for landfill dumping.Staff is very friendly.My only suggestion would be to update the operation time for landfill dumping on the website. The site currently shows 7 a.m but upon arrival, we are notified it does not open until 7:30 a.m.Over all i am pleased to do business with Hafner & Sons
These people have no idea what they are doing with firewood and need to stop selling it. If you do buy it dont plan on burning it for atleast a year. Seasoned is false advertising. They just want your money and dont care about the product they sell. Look elsewhere for firewood.
Best mulch in all of Cincinnati Ive been doing landscaping since 2000 and there is nobody that has got as good of mulch as Hafner and Sons and their service is not bad either as well as their other products

This business needs to learn customer service, I was toyed around with, and told to never call back. I tried to acquire the two womans names I spoke with. One was Mindy, the other told me it was none of my business, that she owned the company. I am very displeased and taken back with there service. I plan on letting anyone and everyone know how rude and unhelpful they are.

Terrible customer service. I was only asking for a quote and they retaliated with hostility and i was thrown accusations only after saying my name. I needed three loads (who knew this was a technical term??) of crushed limestone for my driveway.When I set up the delivery, the gentleman I spoke with was so kind and helpful. He indicated Id be the first dropoff as it worked with my schedule the best.Sure enough, Dave was here at 7:42 am. He was polite and dropped the stone exactly where I asked - we have a weird driveway. He even tried hard not to laugh at my Cookie Monster pjs 😀I will definitely use this company again!! 2022-05-05I ordered a skid of bagged mulch (52 bags) over the phone. Super courteous person on the other end, had it in 2 days, and within the delivery window (actually a little early). He stacked the bags very nicely where we asked. Ive also used them for bulk delivered mulch, always a great experience! 11/10!

2022-01-27We ordered 1/4 cord firewood. They asked if I needed it that day which was nice. Was given window of 9-10 am the following morning. Driver came about 9:10. Very professional, prompt, and friendly. Will definitely order more wood and other things from them in the future.

2022-06-13I ordered 2 tons of creek rock from Hafner and Sons that ended up costing me roughly $215 since I was across town. I priced out what it would cost for either Lowes or Home Depot to deliver the same amount and it was $500+ of individually wrapped bags. The delivery was 15 minutes earlier than the schedule time too. Seamless process and great service all around.

2022-05-20Ordered voodoo black mulch from Hafnrr after becoming completely dissatisfied with both product and delivery service from a well known Ohio competitor. Hafner delivered promptly when they said they would (actually early) and the mulch product is far better than what I had previously paid equivalent money for last year. Highly recommend.

2022-04-11I thought I was told that the truck will arrive on Saturday between 9 and 10 o’clock. But it showed up at 8 o’clock. I also was told when I made the reservation that the driver would call me, but he said that was not on his slip. I wasn’t ready for that.The driver was apologetic and courteous. Other than those two glitches, it went very well. The soil looks good.
