Best comic/game/card/general nerd-outpost in Ohio. If you go in here looking for something, you will find it. If you go in with no idea, you’ll come out with something. Great atmosphere, great selection, fantastic owner. Ive found my home comic book store, and couldn’t be happier about it. 10/10 recommend to any and everyone!
The best store for anything gaming or nerd like. Owner has a great selection of board games & card games. Really knowledgeable guy & nice guy who will always help his customers out, especially with any pre order product. On top of that has a great selection of comics & graphic novels, and will pre order graphic novels in advance if you ask. Lastly keeps a pretty good stock of other assorted nerdy memorabilia that adds a great vibe to the store.
Great place. Excellent stock. Helpful staff. But although he was helpful, the comic book guy let his opinion known that he didnt like what I was looking for because he didnt seem to care for the people it was catered too. No biggie, but constructively, some may have been offended. Ill be back to buy more though
Went in to purchase premium collectible figures. I asked the man working the front counter if I could go take a closer look at a premium format figure I was thinking of purchasing and he chuckled and told me I could not. As I told him I was thinking of purchasing it on my way out then he proceeded to tell me I could take a look. What a joke. Lost a good sale and a customer. I know most people can’t afford these types of collectibles, but don’t assume everyone can’t afford it or are “just looking.” I drove an hour to come look at the inventory with the intention of not just buying one, but possibly several items.
Marcus is the real deal. Hes always friendly, has knowledge about everything he sells, has fair prices, and is just a genuinely good dude. I couldnt recommend this place enough for a great many things from MtG, D&D, minis, comics, games, and more. Do yourself a favor and go check it out.
The owner is always friendly and the selection for Dungeons and dragons source material and accessories is glorious. The comics selection is good, and if you like Magic the Gathering, Ground Zero will scratch that itch. I also love the selection of statues. He has everything from small to life size (which he refers to as divorce packages). He also has a selection of games available for play testing in store. I could keep going, but suffice it to say, stop in, and you wont leave disappointed.
Owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of D&D products at good prices. Has a great atmosphere. The only thing I would say is dont leave half opened boxes on the floor especially where people have to get through to the gaming tables. All in all, still worth 5 stars and my money. 😊
Hands down the best comic shop ever! Marcus is super nice and chill. Gives the best prices and takes the time to talk to his customers.Awesome selection of games, statues, figures and a lot of magic stuff. I go here for all of my comic needs including books and my hot toys!Awesome shop and run by an even better owner!
One of the best shops to find what you need.Tabletop games, comics, D&D dice/books/figures, collectibles and rare finds, events with prizes. Reasonable prices and a relaxed environment. Marcus is always helpful and resourceful. Ive been going here for over a year now and its hard finding another comparable store as awesome as Ground Zero Comics.
This is one of the sweetest comic books stores Ive been in, in quite a long time. The owner knows what hes done about, as we had a seamless cross genre conversation, and he never missed a beat.On top of a full portfolio of comics from various brands, he has what I believe could be the biggest trading card catalogues in the area; with a full area for games and tournaments. If comic and cinematographic collectables is your thing, he has that in spades, from life save characters to miniatures .I suggest you check this out!
I have been going to ground zero since high school. Graduating class of 2000. First mtg tournament was there. This place has always made me feel better just knowing Im going there. I grew up in Parma OH but now live in Nashville TN. Every trip home is a trip to ground zero. Best prices I have found from Nashville to lake Erie. So much to spend money on. Great tables to play on. Best comic/collector store ever!!!! The owner of this store should be the post child of what an owner and store should be. Thank you for everything. Please continue making the world a better place. See you next time maybe October.
Smaller store, but they have everything you might be looking for when it comes to tabletop games or comic books. If there is something you can not find they will be more then happy to order it for you. I have been getting into D&D and the miniature and they have a wide selection and the paints to go with it, I will keep going there if I need anything else. We have also been going there for card expansions for Cards Against Humanity and Exploding Kittens. Great store welcoming atmosphere.
This is my favorite local gaming store. The owner, Marcus, is incredibly nice and helpful. He has Magic events there several times a week and the drafts are the best in the area- talented and friendly people play and the prize pool is excellent. Great board game selection and games you can try out in the store as well!
Im a fan of this game store! The owner is pretty chill and friendly, and hes special ordered games for me a couple different times. The prices are better than MSRP, and the selection is current. Ground Zero has a lot of good things going for it! Glad its in Strongsville.
We go to play games and shop around every week or so, and our group loves it! Markus always has what we want, and if he doesnt he will order it. Very chill and inviting atmosphere, best prices out there, kind owner. Gets busy on the weekends, but its always my first stop for all my nerd needs 🤓
Best comic shop in town, with a great selection of comics and a wide variety of games (from tabletop books to board games to CCGs). Loads of collectibles, from action figures to Pops to beautiful Sideshow pieces. Magic tournaments several nights weekly, and Adventurers League D&D once a week. The proprietor knows his customer base, and is spot on with recommendations.Seriously, if you havent been here, you are missing out!
Hands down the BEST comic book store around. I have gone all over the state, and no one is as friendly, accepting of new readers, around. Great selection of back issues from the last few years, always current as well. Great selection for board games and magic as well.
Markus and ground zero comics are ALWAYS my go to for any MTG or hobby need. He has a massive selection of singles as well as supplies you might need for any new MTG deck. He also has a huge selection of DnD minis and core books, chessix dice, and tons of other board games. His comic selection is also incredible. In addition to this he still manages to have a space to play cards in the back of the shop. The BEST place in North East Ohio for comics and cards.
If youre a female and you go in by yourself you will be completely ignored. I asked the owner about Pokemon cards once and if he knew where I could get my collection appraised. He was very short with me and spoke to me like I was wasting his time. However when Im in there with my brother or boyfriend hell have full conversations with them. I love comic book stores and they have a huge collection of D&D gear but I never feel welcomed there.
Well organized, and fairly priced, selection of MTG singles. Plenty of different boosters, decks, & fat packs to choose from too. Owner and staff are always helpful/patient when I ask newbie Magic questions. Friendly and open atmosphere. Been there three times in the last 2 months and had a good experience each time.
This place is filled with comics, games, and cards. This place most certainly has a lot to choose from. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Great place to play MTG and other games. Great competition at this store and other friendly folks. I recommend all of my friends to this place for their gaming needs!
Ground Zero is my go-to store for everything Magic the Gathering now. In an area that has quite a few card/comic shops, I dont mind at all to travel a little bit further to come here instead of anywhere else. Marcus (the owner) is super cool, and not condescending like many of the other owners in the area. He has a nice selection of cards and the prices are great. The events are run well, and the competition is solid. Ground Zero also has a ton of other things outside of MTG...comics, boardgames, and other collectibles.
I have stopped at this place a couple times over the last month. Every time I went they are very helpful and quick with what you want to get. Had every card I wanted for a standard deck I was buildingbesides a couple which is understandable due to the card being in Zendikar Rising which has been passed out not to long ago. Highly recommend
Been all over the US, and this is by far one e of the best shops Ive been in. Large selection of everything from board games to MTG. Room for people to talk and play. And best of all, a clean, friendly environment for everyone. I took my young nephews in the learn MTG, and the owner was more than helpful in getting them started.
Poorly displayed stock and lazy staff. On the upside they had some decent sales on trade paperbacks and game books (20% off cover price) however I constantly felt like I was about to trip and fall as there was merchandise and boxes strewn all over the floor. Very unprofessional. I may only return if I cant find a better deal elsewhere. I have better options. Step it up or suffer the same fate as many other brick and mortar stores.
The owner and operator Markus is a friendly guy who handles business interactions efficiently and with an eye for customer satisfaction. The location is always getting fresh inventory in while maintaining a very well established geek-chic. While play space can get tight a clear dedication to play area is fantastic to see. I dont get to stop by very often but its always a pleasure.
Fun, comvenient, professional. I moved to this area a few months ago and greatly lamented leaving my favorite comic book store. But this store stole my heart! It has a great selection, its merchandise is easy to navigate, and the owner is very friendly and will go the extra mile for you.
Ground zero is the perfect place to get your gaming gear. The owner is incredibly friendly, the place is chock full, and his prices cant be beat by anyone nearby. He often beats the online retailers prices, and whats more, hes a friendly local game store. Support local, and support Ground Zero.
Ground Zero is the best comic book shop in Cleveland, based on selection and service. Marcus is great, and always willing to look something up or order something for you! Far roomier than any other local shop Ive been to, and his selection of games/cards/comics/action figures/statues/etc. cannot be compared to by any other shop in the Cleveland area. The main reason I love Ground Zero and continue to purchase there despite now being more than 30 minutes away is because of how great Marcus is! He is a class above in friendliness, knowledge, and dedication to his craft and industry.
My favorite comic shop in NE Ohio. The store has a great layout: comics and collectables on one side, games on the other, and the new comics for the week are in the center. Theres always table-top gamers in the back, and, although thats not my scene, it lends a good energy to the store without making it feel crowded. You feel welcome to hang out and chat. The owner is very attentive and cool to talk with. His knowledge and dedication is evident as soon as you walk in. Whenever Im looking for something thats sold out everywhere, he knows without looking when theyll have some in, and youre never let down when you go to pick them up. Thats beside the point though. 99% of the time, Ground Zero has the books Im looking for, and I end up leaving with more than I expected. My only let down is that I dont go there often enough.
Went to Ground Zero for an afternoon Booster Draft and start to a Bachelor party. Absolutely GREAT atmosphere. Comic Shops have a tendency to look like a disaster area, but this shop was very well put together, and the bathroom didnt make me want to kill myself. The owner was awesome, very professional and friendly.Big Screen TV hooked up to an XBox was available for gaming, and was otherwise used to display the match pairing for the tournament.Best Comic Shop that I have been to.
Ground Zero is without a doubt, the best card/comic shop in Cleveland. At other card shops in the Cleveland/Akron area Ive been-Cheated on bad prices-Harassed by owners to the point where they call me at work for no reason.-Been in an unwelcome atmosphere. At Ground Zero, Markus treats me like a real person. He always treats me or my husband to a beer and gives us recommendations on comics wed like. The Friday night magic and Saturday draft experience is relaxed, but competitive. The prices are always fair for any magic or comic product. I have no complaints. Markus runs a great business and is a guy I can respect.
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff. Absolutely nothing is comparable to the experience you will have when you walk in the door. Looking for a comic, board game, trading card game(Mtg, Pokémon) or just a cool place to hang out and have enlightening conversations about just about anything, this is the first and last place you need to go. Almost always able to find someone for a pick up game of anything. Once you have had the GZ experience, there is honestly just no going back.
The guy who runs this place is amazing , I cant remember his name at the moment but he always remembers my husband and I when we come in. We buy 80% of our board games from this place for a lot of reasons. If youre looking for something that he doesnt have more than likely he can order it for you.
Mostly a gaming store. Back issues are mostly limited to newer comics, maybe 5 years back at most. Owner not man of word. All back issues $1 except variants are eBay prices, hed have to look them up. Clarified pricing three times. Now mind you, there are no other back issue boxes, the stock is mainly issues he didnt sell from normal monthly inventory....found some books that were obviously worth more than $1 that he plucked out of my stack and said they werent suppose to be in there but again there were no other back issue bins they could have been in! Would not return on principle alone. If looking for gaming, hes got the inventory but buyer beware.
Ive been shopping at Ground Zero for long time and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the owner and the other customers. The owner knows the types of books I enjoy and can always recommend something if I am looking for something new to read. To date I have enjoyed all the recommendations. The comic selection is great for the casual reader and avid collector alike. If they do not have what you are looking for on hand they will try to find it for you. There are magic tournaments every Friday and Saturday night and the prize is a full box, not just a few packs like some other places. Most of the Magic players are more than willing to help new or inexperienced players out. I feel like I am just hanging out with friends having a great time.Ground Zero also has a great selection of board games ranging from 2 player games that take 10 minutes to multiplayer games that take hours. Whatever you are in the mood for you are sure to find something you will enjoy. There is also a great selection of other collectibles available such as a wonderful selection of Pint Glasses with almost any character you would want on it, some great Hot Toys and Side Show Collectable pieces, a huge selection of stickers and lots of other collectable merchandise.
These are the droids your looking for .....This Guy is the Iron Giant of the Hottest Toys out there !!!! Stuff is from a Galaxy far far away in your hands Today !!! I would highly recommend stopping in this Outstanding Store for the Best Sales and Service on this Planet !!!!

2022-03-31Awesome Comic shop. Plenty of new comics to choose from and always a good amount of inventory. They carry anything and everything from Pokémon to Warhammer. Tons of statuettes and figurines for you to pickup. Heck he can even order stuff for you as well. This shop is very much a place where anyone can come in and feel apart of the hobby.

The statues and large figures and displays will just knock your socks off. Also deep in new comics, recent back issues, magic the gathering and other card games and board games. 2022-03-15I wont lie, I dont know much about the place on a personal level. However, my partner loves this place. Friendly staff, loads of games, comics and miniatures. You can ask questions and no one gets frustrated. I dont see many young kids in, a lot of adults and comic Fans. I am sure older kids would be welcomed.

2022-03-09Great spot for new comics and has a huge selection of MTG cards, but also has some pretty rare card games and collectibles Ive never even seen or heard of before. Owner has a lot knowledge on pop culture. I definitely appreciate that he plays music in there and he seems to enjoy running his store and looking out for his customers.

2022-04-23First stop here was my last. The gentleman at the counter was as unwelcoming as it gets. When I asked a simple question, he was not friendly and acted as if I was burdening him by asking a question. The store had what appeared to be a decent selection of items, the customer service drove me right out the door and took my $500 purchases of booster boxes to another shop that actually cared to welcome their customers and their questions. Will never be back in this poorly run establishment.

2022-04-07The kids & teen comics section and the manga section towards the front are my favourite spot but I also love to see whats new at the weekly comics area. But theres tons more. If youre trying to find a new hobby you may be surprised how diverse comics are, even if you dont like superheroes. This place is a safe space and a place for friends. I know the owner personally.

2022-01-04This is really the only place I go for Magic, Comics, RPGs and board games. Markus is the best, hands down. He has a great sense of humor, although it can be a bit dry- and his prices are always fair or better. The only problem I have with his store is because I live so close, he ends up with a lot of my money. If you are in the area- stop by- the place is among the best I have found within a 2 hour drive of Cleveland. The only thing he doesnt really deal in is older (bronze, silver) comics.

2022-02-20Havent been here in 10 years (prior to their move). The person who runs the store is very personable and the store has a great atmosphere. Just starting to get back into MTG. Will most certainly be back!
