The service was excellent. Looking forward to my next service.The only reason I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 stars was because I scheduled my appointment online only to find out that time was not available. The next available time was 3 days later. Not really an issue but appointment availability should be updated to real-time.
Brought my van in for an alignment & they discovered a dangerous problem w/ my front suspension. Might have saved my van from potential damage & my wife & I from potentially serious injury or worse. Also, they were kind enough to offer me a ride back to the shop to pick up my vehicle once it was finished. Dont see that level of customer service at most businesses these days.
I had an appointment at noon for an oil change. My car wasnt even lifted to begin the oil change until 1:45. Why make appointments and make people sit in your lobby for almost 2 hours before they even begin the work? I threw away the majority of my day. Ridiculous.Edit: Total time for a scheduled oil change - 3 hours and 50 minutes. Hilarious.
Service on the cars was good. When I paid for the service on the first car I asked the salesperson if I get a discount for using my Grismer charge card. He said no. I thought they changed things. While sitting there waiting on my other 2 cars to be serviced I looked up that info and come to find out I was supposed to get 5% off or be able to use the best coupon offered to Grismer account holders. After I paid, I looked behind me and seen the coupon he should have applied. I asked him about it and he said, I guess you could use it. He took that coupon off on my next 2 vehicles without me telling him the code which leads me to believe he didn’t want to give me what I was entitled to being a card holder. I didn’t recognize the coupon until after I paid for the first service but at the very least he should have gave me the 5% I inquired about. I take responsibility for not recognizing the coupon code but I also feel like the gentleman was being a little dishonest.
I shopped around for tire prices and Grismer was right in line with everyone else but with the Firestone promotion they were running and the four free oil changes definitely set them apart from everyone else. I dealt with three different people from the time I called to ask questions and make the appointment to the day I got the work done and everyone was very helpful and friendly. I’ve used them in the past and I will definitely be back in the future.
This crew seems pretty legit. Have had various tires patched / repaired there. Recently had them mount my winter wheels and they did a standout job. Plus its across the street from Ghostlight and Old Scratch if you need coffee/food/beer/pizza to deal with your car troubles.
Work was well done but not complete. We’ll have to go back. Also, tire tools used from my car were not returned to their storage place in the trunk. They were simply in the trunk. I realize they’d had some setbacks, but I wish they’d put the tools away properly. But they were professional, helpful and overall did good work.
Overall, the experience was pretty good until I went to pick up my vehicle. I was told it would be ready at 6 o’clock as the shop closed. When I arrived after buying four brand new tires, I was told the shop did not have time to do the alignment and I would have to bring the vehicle back. I told the shop I did not want to bring the vehicle back, and they grudgingly completed the alignment. They didn’t bother to apologize for the delay and made me feel like I was asking for something extra by requesting the alignment be done with the replacement of the tires.
Great experience! I was able to quickly make an appointment to get my brakes fixed. Kyle helped me with making the appointment and setting up everything so my car could be done in time to pickup right after work. Kyle’s customer service skills were outstanding, I will definitely return for any future needs, and I highly recommend! I went to the Patterson road location in Dayton. Two thumbs up !!
Service today was really good! First time I’ve encountered a female working there- in the body shop at that!! The issue is NOT with today’s service entirely, but w the fact that the road hazard warranty that includes tire rotation when the oil is changed has ONLY happened when I ASK/REMIND them of this! This time - like any/every other time was not done even though a repair was done on one tire. For that reason alone, I purchased my tires elsewhere! That and the one time only where I went in with one problem and it was said to have been repaired only to pull off and get right on the highway and my car was STILL doing the exact same thing- first time I ever left there feeling ripped off!! I called immediately and spoke with the manager who stated that when it was time for new tires he’d give me a REALLY good deal- when the time came and I mentioned the deal I was told - Oh yeah, you have a Grismer account so you’ll get the 10% off- THAT was NOT THE DEAL I was anticipating!! So, I ordered them and got a REALLY GREAT DEAL!! Business is only as good as your word, that was not good business!
Kyle at the store on Patterson did a fine job. He did what he said pretty much when he said. Great job to the mechanics as well. It is good to know I have a quality and reliable service center for my wife’s car when she is in Dayton an hour fourth five from home. Kudos guys!!!!!
Kyle at the Patterson blvd location was excellent. He was very informative and gave me all of my options and honest advice. He didn’t try to upsell me things I didn’t need. I’ve been to a lot of auto service locations and as a woman it’s easy to feel like they might be taking advantage of you. Sometimes they try to sell you things you don’t really need because they think you don’t know any better. I’ve used this grismer location for years and never felt like that and I’ve gotten the best customer service. Would highly recommend.
I went into Grismer to get my tire replaced and my wheel alignment they quoted me that it would take about an hour but it didn’t get finished until four hours later they took an hour and a half to even pull me in for service even though I had an appointment at 12 o’clock. The technician even left my car running the entire time he worked on my car so that I only had one notch of gas left by the time everything was done
I moved to Dayton recently and bought a “previously-owned” Mercedes Benz S350 two months ago. A friend suggested I take it to Grismer.Last week, I asked Mark at the Patterson (Downtown) Grismer store to complete a scheduled Mercedes maintenance on the car. It was completed in accordance with ALL Mercedes requirements. And I picked up the car at the end of the day! No over-night and I saved money. I am going to take all my cars to him for their scheduled maintenance from now on.When I tell people, they often say, “I shop at Grismer for tires, but I never had my car maintenance done there.” I am certain that is going to change for a lot of people I know.I am very happy I found Mark at Grismer.Also, asked him to look at all of my tires which seem to have a peeling problem.
Their customer service was exceptional. The gentleman that took care of me was truly just that, a gentleman. The gentlemen that serviced my vehicle were professional in manor, they diagnosed the issues with my car and took care of business. Everyone there on the premises were very personable. That was my first time going there and I definitely will go again if I have to. Thank you guys so very much !!
If you want to trust your tire and oil change venue,, this is the place. I used to shop price but my tires never lasted until I purchased some amazing tires. Amazing because they rotate your tires and you can do it with reasonable cost oil changes plus you can make an appointment or drop off your vehicle. If you have multiple vehicles, it is even easier. At this Grismer, you get great phenomenal service like a family and the savings multiply because they really take care of your tires and always alert you about your car needs.
I have gone to this shop in a panic after work because of a car issue multiple times now, and they always get me in the same day. The manager Kyle goes above and beyond with his excellent customer service. I will continue to go here for car work and highly recommend to others!
I just stopped in to make an appointment for new brakes and a new headlamp. My van was checked, and although I did not need new brakes, my tires were in bad shape. They were able to replace the headlamp and all four tires (at a very reasonable price) in less than 2 hours. I am extremely satisfies with the customer service I received. I highly recommend Grismer on Patterson to everyone!
Thank you to the team at Grismer of Dayton. We were visiting the area for baseball, and my car broke down. They were so helpful and accommodating. The quality of work was exceptional at a reasonable cost. They even called me the next day to see that I made it back to Illinois! If you need car repair work, definitely use them!!
Always impressed by how professional and excellent the auto work is at Grismer. For as busy as they are they’re always able to fit me in and get my car back on the road, regardless of the issue. I trust Grismer and know they won’t overcharge, providing great service at a reasonable price
My car developed an oil leak just as I was about to drive 500 miles home after dropping child off at college. Grismer (Patterson Ave Dayton) were great - they fit me into their busy schedule, fixed the car and didnt charge me anything near what they could have charged me. Friendly, reassuring and knowledgeable, I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thank you!
They provided great service! I came in with both my cars and they got them both fixed in the same day. They were so nice and they really cared about my situation and they even went out their way to save me some money. I will definitely be returning to this location for future services.
Since the dealer warranty expired, I have been bringing my vehicle to Grismer on Patterson Blvd. for nearly 10 years. They have been very professional, efficient and fast at getting the issues resolved. My vehicle has over 300,000 miles and runs great. I attribute this to the fine service of the Grismer staff.
Brought my car in mid November for tires, oil change and my brakes needed fixed. They clearly didn’t even take the time to look at my brakes because they said they were “perfectly fine” even though I had told them they were skipping, grinding and my stopping distance had increased a lot. Fast forward to now, I brought it in again for another oil change and mentioned my breaks again. This time my rotors and my break pads on my front and rear breaks were destroyed. I had not driven my car much between December and Late February due to covid and a surgery I had, so I know my brakes did not get in this bad of condition between then and now. If they would have checked my breaks the first time, this may have been prevented. I will most likely never use grismers for service again.
Customer Service is excellent in my opinion. Went in on my break had my tires checked around 1030a. Decided to order a tire with expectations of it coming the following day. It arrived that afternoon. Had the tire put on, balanced all before closing. Kyle youre the best!
Well I went to Grismer cause my car would not go over 35-40 miles while driving...Well they misdiagnosed my car did all this work and my car still wasnt fixed didnt charge me but I was charged for something that have nothing to do with the power of the car. Heres the kicker get my car back and now it will not go pass 5 miles so at this point Im being cursed out and people are furious with me. Got home and told them my car was running better before I dropped it off to them. They had my car towed to another Grismer and I need a catalytic converter and the man from the corporate office name Scott was very nasty about the situation, Grismer gets no stars in my eyes Ive done been to 3 Grismers and all of them were not helpful at all and lied about the work they did....
When I walked into the establishment, three employees there and went to looked up they looked back down at their computer. It was almost 8:00 in the morning and no greeting. The third employee, Kyle spoke and askedhow could he help me. I gave my name and told him I had an appointment. My car was taken back 25 minutes after 8:00, my appointment time was 8:00. I arrived at 7:55 a.m. I was told there is a $57 fee to determine the noise which I had already explained I knew it was the belt I just didnt know which one. After a few minutes, Kyle came out to tell me that my belts needed to be adjusted but not replaced. And told me the cost including the $57 noise location fee. While waiting for my car, the other employees that did not greet me when I entered the store, got into a conversation with a customer about politics and their disagreement with what was going on. Dont think free speech extends to the workplace, dont think its very appropriate. Grismer Corporate office should remind employees to keep neutral conversations and if a customer wants to talk about certain topics, should have training on how to steer clear of issues or deflect them. In my profession, we are not allowed to talk about politics or religion..two of the most controversial topics. Kyle was not part of that conversation. I will not return to Grismer. I gave two stars only because of Kyle. He was very friendly, very professional and did not engage in the political conversation as the other employees. He did forget to give me the estimate for the timing belt and water pump replacement which at this point is moot. The fee for the noise location should not have applied because I knew the noise was coming from a belt and overall the cost of repairs at Grismer are high...$202 for belt adjustment. Im new to Dayton and unfortunately its was not a good experience.
Went to the Dayton location. They charged a lot of money to claim they fixed something. They did not. They charged a lot of money to see if they could find a problem. They cannot tell if they even fixed a problem that they claimed to have fixed. Absolute waste of money. If you want to pull money from your bank and give it to someone for no reason, I would donate to the homeless before taking your vehicle to these people.
I will not take my car anywhere else. They top off your fluids and fill your tires for free. Also, I made an appointment the same day as my oil change and was told it would only be an hour, and it was just that. Plus, the coupons they send are useful, especially, since my car doesnt need anything more than the basics for now.
I have gotten tires at Grismer for years. Took my daughters car in for a nail in tire. Got a call from Kyle that the tires were a little more than 50% worn and with winter here maybe wanted to look at replacing them and they had a sale on now. I agreed to the purchase of the new tires. Then I get a call from Kyle that the car needs an alignment and its $99.00 more. I have never had this experience with Grismer in the past. Alignment was in the price ($437.00) of the tires. This nickel and diming you from a company like Grismer, I wont go back again. You got me for the last time. Happy New Year
I had an appointment to have my oil changed. It was for 3:30 in the afternoon. I always arrive early to appointments. They finally took my car back at 4:30. Mind you Im already a bit miffed because upon my arrival I am informed that there is a sanitization charge for my free oil change after spending $600 on a set of tires. I check out at 5:10. Im there nearly 2 hours. I was kind of angry about my experience. The man checking me out made it a little better when he told me that I didnt have to pay the sanitizing fee today.
Thank you guys so much. I truly appreciate your prompt service to my emergency situation especially since I arrived to Grismer just 4 minutes before closing time. Turns out, the entire staff was really friendly and helpful. I was worried about the cost of a new tire but it was actually reasonably priced. Management was professional and went the extra mile to ensure I got back on the road. I can tell he genuinely care about his customers. Car emergencies are not so bad when you have good people to help.... I will definitely use this service again.
The dealership wanted to do $600 worth of brake work on my Sonata so I brought my car to Grismer and they quoted me half that over the phone and then called me back saying there was no reason to do any if this yet and bring it back in 5-7k miles.Another time they did some work on my wifes car, including a maintenance evaluation, where they gave me a list of work to keep the car in running order for very fair prices, plus told me what they thought I could do myself.Really happy dealing with a shop that isnt trying to gouge me or trick me into work way ahead of schedule, and being close to home is a nice bonus.
Was not pleased with the customer service phone call I received. Was told that my car had 2-4 possible parts that my car needed. One of the parts was replaced at Grismer a little over a year ago and needs replaced again. The biggest disappointment was the gentleman telling me in a rude way The only way your not going to have this problem again is to get rid of your car. I didnt have it repaired their because of his unprofessional attitude.
This Grismer location quickly became my go to. I never feel pressured like I do at other auto places. Sometimes other places will try and give me a bogus repair and when I take it to others for a second opinion its obvious I was trying to be duped. Theyre fast, incredibly polite and have great prices.
Lucky I found this place. I was traveling from North Carolina and in Dayton for a wedding shower. I woke up that morning, running late and found that I had a screw in my tire. The Guys at Grismer tire couldnt have been more responsive or friendly. These guys are great! They got me in an out faster than I could have imagined. The tech even filled up my washer fluid just because he noticed while pulling my vehicle in the bay that it was low. Now thats service. I am a business owner and I notice other businesses that are run well and Grismer tire is top notch. I was getting a tire patched and they treated me like I was their biggest customer. It doesnt get any better than this. Please buy your next set of tires from Grismer, I promise youll be glad you did, and if you do ask them about the oil changes. That deal is unbelievable. This shop does good work and offers a nice discount for UD employees. It is a little busier than other shops given that it is located near downtown, but as long as you schedule your service in advance or drop it off when they are open, they get it done in decent time. As with any chain mechanic shop, be aware of what you actually need verses what they say you need to avoid paying more for a service or repair you dont need.
Grismer’s personnel always provides me with complete explanations of what needs to be done and consults transparently with me about how to do it, listening to my preferences, which is important to me as a woman customer. I have always found them professional and pleasant to work with, and if a mistake is made, they fall all over themselves to make it right. These are the reasons I have been a loyal Grismer customer for over 25 years.
My car started making a noise, so I took it to the dealership hoping that the issue would be covered under warranty. The dealership informed me that two tires had holes in them and that they were not repairable. Since the car is AWD, they said I needed all new tires. The price tag for this was $1500 and 3+ days of waiting for the tires to come in.I called Grismer and explained the issue. I also explained that I could not go that long without a car. Despite a full schedule, they found the specialty tires at another Grismer store and transported them within the hour. When I arrived at Grismer, I reiterated what the dealership said and told them that I was able to drive the car since the tires had held air for 4 days after the sound started. Upon hearing this, they became suspicious and decided to take a quick look at the car. They immediately noted that the tires could very likely be repaired.They were able to fit my car in the same day and repair the tires. Total cost was less than $30. One tire was repaired and the other didnt even have a puncture. Grismer had every opportunity to lie and sell me all new tires. Even though their price was much less than the dealership, it was still over $1000. Instead of making the sale, they were honest. I could not be more pleased and will not hesitate to go back to the Grismer on Patterson for all my car needs.
Very courteous service from the office to the work area. I had requested to keep my winter tires they they took off my car, and I had brought a covering to put in my trunk to protect the carpet. But the man who was replacing my tires, put all of my old tires, each one in plastic bags to protect my carpet and put them in my car. I definitely will reccomend them to family and friends. Definately 5 star business.
I love this Center, going there for years for both routine maintenance as well as difficult to diagnose issues. Everyone is knowledgeable and polite. They always give me a detailed breakdown of what is wrong, what could be fixed, and what it would cost. I feel that I can trust them completely. I would strongly recommend them for anything.
Grismer is the only car repair place that I trust completely. Great work by honest people. Friendly staff too. I should mention that I have frequently used both the Grismer on Patterson and the one on Salem. Superior service, integrity, and kindness seem to be standard across the chain. Yesterday, I went to the Salem Ave Grismer, because the heat shield in my wheel well had come loose, and it was making an awful noise. They fixed it FOR FREE. Honestly, if youre in southwest Ohio, and your car needs servicing, youd be crazy to go anywhere but Grismer.
After being informed by my BMW dealer that at 19,000 miles, my 535 needed all 4 tires replaced, I stopped by Grismer for a 2nd opinion. The extremely friendly Grismer staff analyzed my tires via an elaborate computerized system and then informed me that I have at least another 10,000 miles of tire-life remaining. I then asked what the cost of 4 new like-for-like tires would cost and Grismer provided a quote of $850 versus the $1,600 quoted by the BMW dealer. As their slogan says, Grismer, well treat you right.....I can attest to the fact that Grismer treats you right.
I called for an oil change and they got me in and and took me back downtown to work. They had the car done within 2 hours. I had planned to pick it up at lunch time but the day got too hectic and at 6PM I got a surprise call at work - my car was there and they knew I needed it to get home. They asked if I needed a ride and came to pick me up. All this for a free oil change that I got for the previous purchase of tires. Excellent customer service. I have always received excellent service at a good price.
On a Saturday at 2:30, my tire was shredded by a curb. I called them, they were able to get the tire I needed from another location and get it mounted for me. Amazing service, especially when I thought Id be out of luck until Monday. The gentleman working at the desk and technician (I apologize; my paperwork isnt with me to check names) were very nice. Thank you so much!
My car burned through all of its oil after I got it changed at another company and I was downtown and called Grismer. Josh told me he’d take a look at it and got down on the ground to see if the oil plug was intact. He put enough oil in it to get me to another repair shop. His kindness was greatly appreciated and I will return the next time I need an oil change.
The SERVICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE, speaks VOLUME at this location. Mark, the Manager in charge and his staff have always treated me and all my vehicles with the UP MOST RESPECT. I appreciate when Mark and or his staff tell me that I need repairs or just tell me to invest in another vehicle.....I dont feel like theyre taking advantage of me. Ive been getting my company cars/vans and personal vehicles service at this location for 18 years, and will continue to have my cars serviced at this location due to Mark (manager) and his wonderful staff. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE, I appreciate all of you!

2022-05-20All of the associates were very friendly and knowledgeable. My first time buying a complete set of tires and everything went pretty smoothly. One of the owners even came up to me to introduce himself and thank me for my business - I was very impressed with that alone. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the length of time I waited and also because the insurance for the tires was added to my bill without asking me first. All in all a real positive experience and I’ll give them my business again.

2022-07-16Getting car repairs is always an ordeal.These guys made it seamless.They called me promptly the morning after drop off. No pressure, and the price was reasonable.They freaking called me like 2 hours later and said the job was done. I couldnt believe it.Really hard to find a good shop thats trustworthy and no pressure. Loved the experience and have to recommend!Thanks yall.

2022-05-20I will likely go to Grismer for all of my auto repair needs from now on. 1) They didnt attempt to up-sell us. In fact, they encouraged us not to do certain repairs until later. 2) They called another repair center on our behalf to get work we needed done under warranty, and then directed us there to get the work done. 3) The service they did was quoted and they stuck to the quote. 4) They were extremely quick doing the work. 5) Pricing was very reasonable, 6) and the staff was friendly and professional. Grismer is literally everything anyone could want in an auto repair center.

2022-04-01Very satisfied with the management and the mechanics that worked on my car. My biggest issue was my alignment that was pulling to the right, even after it was aligned by a previous business. It now is perfect. I wasnt pressured into something I didnt need. Issues were completed in a timely manner. THANKS GUYS

2022-06-02I want my car repaired quickly and correctly while being charged a fair price. I want my repair shop to be conveniently located and staffed with friendly and knowledgeable workers. Grismer Tire & Auto meets all of my needs. When I’m in Dayton, I don’t hesitate to take my car to them.

2022-05-20I had to pick up my van in Dayton and needed my tire patched before driving home. I stopped at this Grismer location and the guys were very friendly and helpful they took my van back right away. The waiting room is comfortable and has wifi and one of the owners was there who came over to thank us for being a customer. Everyone was professional and friendly. This location isnt close to my house, but if I ever need help while in Dayton, Ill absolutely return here. Thank you guys for getting me back on the road!

2022-05-24Go here for an oil change but that’s about it. After a minor accident we had our vehicle brought here for an estimate on repairs. Both the technician working on our vehicle and the manager on duty were adamant the frame was damaged beyond repair and suggested we scrap the vehicle.A local dealership (of all places) said it was an easy job, did the repair work, and got our vehicle back on the road no problem. They were fully transparent with us throughout the process, unlike Grismer.Be weary if you need anything more than basic work done here. They have limited knowledge.

2022-01-22Expensive. I needed a battery for my Mazda cx5, oil change, rotation. Walked out with a $300 bill after a special discount. It was $40 for just a battery check. They were nice guys and the work was done timely though. Due to supply chain issues I had trouble finding my battery at several other places. So I am happy that I was able to get all of those services done at place/one stop. Just a bitis all....

2022-03-25Dropped our car off on a Wednesday afternoon for an appt set at 1:30 pm that same day, unfortunately they were running behind schedule and didnt get to our car until the next day in the late morning. I was the one to initiate contact the next morning in hopes to get the car back by noon. Didnt go that way. Was told someone should be pulling it into the bay and would let me know. At 12:45pm I got a call with diagnostic results which I was not surprised with what was stated. After approval of work to be done was given I was happy to hear that I could plan on work being done by end of day. I picked the vehicle up at 5:45 that evening. Only issue I had was not getting contacted the day I dropped off to be updated that they were going to have to keep it overnight and throughout the following day due to there work load and being behind schedule. Otherwise Im completely satisfied. Pricing was comparable to what I found online to be average for my cars issue ($1215.00 before coupon) a broken CV axle, alignment, balencing of tires along with transmission flush and the diagnostic testing.
