I love this store. Its nearby, easy to navigate, friendly, helpful. They most often have what I need. I dont have to park in a huge lot or walk through and acre of store to find what Im looking for. Local small businesses are worth supporting.👍☺
Friendly, Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Always able to find what Im looking for and provide insight and suggestions for any project. Prices are a little higher than some of the larger stores, but the convenience is worth it.
I dont know what Id do without neighborhood hardware stores in general (drive all the way to a shopping center for an emergency small item?), but Greive is my favorite. Friendly, knowledgeable, and for a relatively small store, everything youll need; Ive never walked out empty-handed.
Well stocked store. I found repair parts for an older toilet that were not available at any other hardware store in the south Dayton area. Also well-stacked in several other areas I browsed. Still a true hardware store with knowledgeable personnel.
They have a little bit of everything. This is one of those places that I think people forget about its a great local family owned true old fashioned style hardware store we were able to find things that I cant find at local chains I can always find what Im looking for there they had plenty of staff to help everyone and were very helpful in directing me with finding the items I was looking for.
Easily the best hardware store within walking distance off my house! The store is incredibly well stocked for such a small store with extremely helpful and knowlegable people. Best of all, the prices are fair! Their prices on quality products are always in line with the big box stores and are often cheaper. If you want junk, this is not the place for you, but for quality products I am always amazed at the fair prices!
Excellent hardware store - hands down better than buying in packages at the big stores. They help you find the smallest bolt, screw - you can buy one in just the size you need. Wonderful for replacing glass in windows.

Super nice guys here. I called ahead to make sure that they had what I needed in stock. And once I arrived I found that they were a little busy, but they had enough people that I didn’t have to wait - I was helped immediately. I had a list from my husband and I was completely clueless. They helped collect everything in no time.
Pretty good as far as hardware stores goes is it a find out and get in and out quick I like box stores I cant go inside and keep an eye on my truck and tools like I can but Im in a small hardware store

Knowledgable, helpful and genuinely friendly folks. Don’t expect bored, inexperienced hard to find employees like at the big franchise outlets. These people are the real deal. And they carry just about everything. This is “shop local“ at its best!

Love the personal attention and help, two things the two big hardware stores have never heard of. Would drive out of my way past Home Depot and Lowes just to go to Ace!
My neighborhood store. I always go here first. I have gotten to know the store and the staff over the last decade. I enjoy just going in and browsing. The advise has always been spot on.
(The Kettering Store) Had a screen made for our entrance screen/storm door and a window. I had no frames for them to use. Only measurements. A PERFECT FIT ON BOTH SCREENS. I highly recommend them! A great place to browse also!RWR
Seems as if I can t find something at a box store, I end up at Grieve Hardware. They are helpful , know there products and where the products are.And theres no waiting for someone to help you.Always fun looking through the store for something unique and different.

Greive hardware is usually staffed by teenagers who know nothing about the products and dont give a damn about their job or their customers. Do yourself a favor and go to Ace Handyman. Its less than a mile away and the staff is knowledgeable and professional.
First place that I go for everything from hardware to birdseed. Great service from everyone, reasonable prices, overall a great store.
Closest hardware store to west Kettering and Oakwood, but one of the worst when it comes to customer serice in the Dayton area. I have been in the store twice for plumbing items I needed quickly, but no one would ever, ever help me. No greetings, and, if you walk out without a purchase, they ignore you. I now drive to Ace Hardware on Stroop and Wilmington (past their Stroop and Marshall branch) or to Lowes near Bellbrook.
Ok prices, always has what Im looking for. The reason for 3 stars is the driveway salt I bought was fully saturated with water

Fabulous local hardware store, but if you have DIY questions always ask one of the older men, not the high school help.

2022-03-20Excellent local hardware store customer service second to none, if you want to have a pleasant experience and also actually talk to somebody who knows what theyre talking about go here forget the big box stores as a construction professional these people have way more knowledge than the entire combined staff at both Lowes or home Depot... Shop local keep them alive you will not get the same level of service from Amazon or any other big box stores

2021-03-26Grieve is really wonderful. I feel bad for going to Lowes so often because I simply forget theres a local hardware option, and its even closer to my home. Ive been going to Grieve more and more lately and its always a stellar experience. They always have what I need and direct me right to it. This store is a real asset to the community and were lucky to have it.

2020-01-04Absolutely the best! When they did not have the key stock they told me about Centerville Lock & Safe. They are always friendly and patient and take you to the item you need whether a stain, LED bulb or firecabrbon monoxide alarm. Returns are no problem. Enjoy, especially if you are not a hardware store enthusiasts.
