Such a wonderful shopping experience every time I go there! Friendly, knowledge help and prices are almost always clearly marked! Im sure theyre plenty sick of shoppers when they close to get ready for fall mum days, but I sure wish theyd consider keeping at least a small selection of plants available all summer long.
Stopped today as their end of season sales have started. I was surprised at the amazing variety of plants and hanging baskets they still had. All were in beautiful condition ready to plant.. Check their website for last day of sale as they will then be closed until mum season starts in August. This is one of the best places to buy mums too.
Prices are great and the variety is excellent. Better labeling of the plants or colored coordinated shirts for the employees would make it easier to ask for help. I would have spent more money if I could have found specific plants that I was looking for. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I are very disappointed with green valley growers, we purchased annuals recently and spent a significant amount of money on them (which we anticipated) but every single one of them died within a week. We realize this can happen and that is not the reason alone why we are disappointed but we did some research and found out the majority of nursery’s/ greenhouses will give you a refund or some type of discounted price of that happens. So I call green valley and the man I spoke to was rude and short from the start of the conversation, he then proceeded to say they do not do any returns (which was not what I asked) I told him what happened and asked if they give a discount or some type of reimbursement since ALL of our flowers were gone that we just purchased not even two weeks ago. He cuts me off and said “I told you we have a ZERO return policy and can not offer you a thing. Not my policy or my problem, sorry.” I do not usually do reviews unless I am praising an establishment, but I was taken back and just very disappointed with this place. Also if you have children and plan on going here, I would not recommend bringing them because they were not very kid friendly or kind.
Drove over half and hour to get to the greenhouse. When I arrived little less than 10 minutes before the greenhouse closed. Several employees yelled at my wife and I saying that they were closing here at 6:00 and we were not allowed to come in. Went out to the car to call and talk to the manager first time was hung up on. Second time I called the manager answered. I proceeded to ask the lady if customers are not allowed to come in when they dont close until 6:00 the manager States yes just like any other place like Walmart we you are not allowed to come in mind you it was not even 6:00pm yet when we arrived and they were not allowing people to come in to the green house. When I asked who the owner was the lady was rude and said I am the owner and when I asked what her name was she said it doesnt matter and hung up the phone on me. I have always came to Green Valley Growers and I promise I will never come again and will definitely let others know the terrible experience I had and how I was treated.
First time going during the sale. Went on a 70% off day and it was pretty empty, which I guess was expected. Didn’t buy anything. I gave 2 stars because for some reason they had signs saying “sanitized carts” and “unsanitized carts” for when you were done shopping; I watched an employee just continually moving the used carts over to the supposed ‘sanitized’ and not clean a SINGLE ONE!
I was looking for combo color potted mums. These are the 12 pots with 3 different colors in one pot. They had them in several color combinations for $12.95 plus tax. They also had many kinds and colors and different size pots. A few hanging baskets but those will probably go quickly. Very good prices and the plants were full of buds beginning to open.
I recently visited GVG for the third and final time. The first two times were last fall and things were very busy, so I overlooked a lot of the customer service issues. This time, however, I simply could not. I noticed another reviewer mentioned that they are disabled and had a difficult time at the store. Well, it seems that it is not an isolated incident. I am physically disabled and suffer from PTSD, and I was trapped inside after closing.I went on 25 May 2020, arriving around 5:30 or so. The sign said they were open until 7 pm. I saw nothing to indicate otherwise, so I went about my business of (moderately) slowly walking through. I walk with a cane or use a wheelchair, but because of the layout, I relied on a cart to help me walk, maneuvering around a few obstacles along the way. As I headed to the far lot behind the last greenhouse, I saw two employees. I did not walk far into the back lot before turning around and going back into the area where the vegetable plants are kept. There, I saw three more employees. I walked through and then up into another area where there were some flats on the floor and hanging baskets. There, I saw another employee who said that he thought they were getting ready to close. It was just about 6 pm.The employee went into a separate area, and I headed back the way I came because that is where the exits are. When I got there, they were locked and no employees were anywhere to be seen. I walked into a connecting area and found the same thing. By this time, my PTSD was acting up and I was starting to have a panic attack. After nearly 20 minutes, I managed to find a way out. The issue was that it was not actually an exit for customers but just an open area in one of the greenhouses. I ended up on top of the slope near where the carts are stored in the front.I could not manage to get the cart down, so I carefully made my way down the slope. That may sound easy, but because of my disability, the possibility of falling was pretty high. Thankfully, I made it down. (Someone with more mobility issues would never have been able to make it down, especially unaided.)My car was parked directly in front of the building in the first parking space by the rail. The exit doors were closed, but I could see an employee walking around inside. He disappeared before I made it near the door. Because I was in pain from all the unexpected walking and going down the slope, and because my anxiety was extremely high, all I could think to do was to get in my car, calm down, and leave. When I finally got home--about a half hour away from GVG--I was still pretty shaken and very sore. Later that night, when I had calmed down, I sent an email to them. I wanted to let them know that the cart on the slope was not someone trying to steal and to ask them to tell their employees to check the parking lot and buildings before locking things up. (As big as the place it, you would think they would do that.) I was also hoping for an apology of some sort because that would just be good customer service. Two day have passed since I sent the email and I have heard nothing. I will not be going back. I have told my friends about the experience. They have said that they too will take their business elsewhere. Not that it matters to GVG.
I went there in hopes of buying tomato plants. I discovered that because of my disability I was not able to walk the long distance required to get to them. So I went back to my car to attempt to call them to arrange accommodations so I could make purchase. I explained what just happened and asked her if something could be arranged so I could make a purchase. I asked if they could bring some to the front of the store so I could make a purchase. The womans response was that they were not able to do that.

2022-05-07One of the best greenhouses Ive been to. Its a little bit of a drive, but worth it. Herbs are 1.59 a plant. Hanging baskets are 12.50 each. Ground plants are around 3 and larger plans can be between 15 and 30 for most.

2022-06-30Dont get succulents here. At least not ones that look soaked in the soil. Both of the succulents I purchased were dying from root rot when I got them, and I was only able to find this out when I was repotting them and noticed that the roots were rotting and soggy. The bottom of the succulents also had black and rotted leaves.

2021-05-07Best plants and prices in the area. We drive 35min to shop here because the plants are healthy; we have less fallout of plants dying. The staff is always helpful, when they dont have something in stock, they let you know when more stock will be available.
