This is one of our favorite restaurants. We decided to start my birthday weekend off at GST. The decor is nice. The prices are reasonable. The wait staff were funny, efficient and helpful. The fish fry meal was delicious. It is such a good place for singles, couples as well as families to have an enjoyable meal.
We went out for Thanksgiving for the first time ever. The food was good and service was fair, unfortunately they ran out of Turkey & pumpkin pie . With appointments you would think it would of been covered.. otherwise this restraunt on a great place for everyone. Spacious clean welcoming.
Great place for dinner. Great selections of craft beers and wine. Duck fat frites draw me in. My wife had stuffed cabbage and mashed potato. Very well seasoned and creamy mashed potatoes. Stuffed cabbage is tender, moist and saucy. Well seasoned. Her mixed drink were good. Old fashion. Our poutine appetizer is great except for the salt level in gravy. The cheese curd is delicious. The top half was great till it gets to the other half with gravy. I ordered the ribeye with roasted root vegetables. The roasted root vegetables is disappointment. It was a soggy mess. Rainbow carrots, sweet potatoes. The soggy onions and bell peppers ruined the dish. The steak was cooked to medium rare. The seasoning taste like Montreal seasoning and again salt over took the steak. Steak didnt have a good crust. For the finale dessert saved the dinner. The homemade coconut cream pie is amazing. Shrouded with coconut. Every bite has coconut taste. Coconut cream is thick and taste. For my personal taste, crust is a little too sweet. Great restaurant and menu. Definitely will go back to try something else and have waitstaff give recommendation. Great service and friendly staff. Keep up the good work.
We were happy to see this restaurant reopen, but they were not ready to reopen! They were out of everything and blamed the pandemic. Unfortunately for them, my husband works in food service, so we knew that they could have obtained things they were out of. My perch had chips instead of fries, even though my we saw them bringing out fries. And charging someone $22 for 5 tiny pieces of fish and burnt fries is gouging. If you have to work from a smaller menu, you should also cut the price. Both of our entrees were our second choices and they were terrible and overpriced. I would have more respect if they had admitted their mistakes and problems instead of making excuses, lying and charging too much. We wont return. I also cant believe I have to give them a star at all.
Food was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and the open faced roast beef. Food and drinks came promptly, but the service was lacking. The server never checked back, we had to approach another server for takeout boxes, and then again for the check. We will definitely come again, but hope the service is better in the future.
When we arrived at Great Scott a Friday evening I had a little chill in the air so there werent a lot of people there probably because I called it and the pandemic but the food the chicken wings will hard and I saw them sitting in the back of like about 5 minutes before the serving to me the french fries Fritter were pretty good the drinks what overpriced and we stayed there for about an hour hour-and-a-half I was no entertainment and the waitresses wear pretty nice but the food not solid
This was a second chance returning to this restaurant after a less than satisfactory dining experience. This time, I ordered a Friday clam bake dinner and wound up with a tiny bowl of clam shells sizing significantly greater than the clams, no sweet potato side as ordered, and charged for the salad thats supposed to be one of the side selections. Waitress denied that I asked if they had sweet potatoes yet mentioned it as a side choice!Owner proceeded to condescend my requests to correct the issue when busgirl haled him to the table.Great Scott, my experience was far from ,Great!
What a gem of a restaurant! I had a vegan meal with rice noodles and grilled vegetables with a tomato ragout. My companion had the perch with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. He deemed it delicious. Great service! Walked over to check out the bar. Very spacious with stools around the bar and tables. The kitchen is visible behind the bar. You can see everything that is going on in the kitchen. It was fascinating to view even if briefly.
Its an absolutely beautiful restaurant and bar. The food and drinks are very good! The main entrees and most sides are very good, similar to how they are described on the menu. However, the fries, or frites are cooked with duck fat and are horrible. But they have enough side options on the menu so I do not have to order something that I dislike. Sometimes, the food takes an unusually long time to cook/prepare, but I think it is worth the wait. The service is always excellent. The mens room is always very clean! My wife, and my brother who sometimes identifies as a female, tell me that the ladies room is also very clean.
I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of food that came with our meal and how good it all was! I got bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and beans that lasted me into lunch and dinner the next day too. Mixed drinks were tastey. The polka band was adorable and had everyone in a good mood. Nice atmosphere. Parking can be a pain.
The place was nice, very empty for a Friday at 6pm so we were sat right away. The service was pretty good except the entrees were rushed out before i could take two bites of the salad. I ordered an open faced roast beef sandwich expecting roast beef but instead got an open faced pot roast sandwich which is completely different. Roast beef is usually sliced and kind of rare like steak and what I got was big shredded chunks of pot roast on a piece of bread so I felt decieved. It was good POT ROAST though I wish I had gotten what I ordered. All and all he wasnt horrible but I wont be back.
Great find in the Euclid area. Fast service, the food was great, and excellent prices. My wife and I both had the NY strip and I also had the homemade chicken noodle soup (so good). Now getting ready to listen to some music on the patio. Try this place out, you won’t regret it.
Great cocktails and atmosphere is modern. However, the food kind of misses the mark. Ive had meals here on three separate occasions. Each time Im excited about my meal and the way it is described on the menu... and each time it just didnt live up to the hype. Theyre reaching for modern, unique food but dont quite follow through on it.
Got AYCE fish fry 10.99. Either haddock or Pollock. The fresh cut potato chips are to die for and you also get coleslaw. When you reorder you get all .not just more fish. Great price. Nice to see Bob again. General manager there. He looks 10 years younger than 4 years ago. So happy for him. He has excellent employees
The food is the same price whether you dine in or carry out. So the quality shoukd be the same. I asked for well... Not burned. Got home burger looks like charcoal. What a waste. You need to hire new chefs or train them on food quality. When this place first opened it was really good a great dinning experience. Now it loke your running a prison kitchen or something.
Met the girls for dinner and happy hour. Food was alright, nothing to brag about. Way overpriced though. $12.00 for a burger. They were out of veggie burgers and salmon. My drink was way too strong and my friends was way too weak. No consistency. Saw a waitress drop a to go container on the floor, then pick it up and put food in it. Umm health department anyone???
Take your large group here! Rehearsal dinners, family reunions etc!!!Beautiful Restaurant, great patio with a really cool sitting area with outdoor couches, great place for a large or small group inside & out. The patio faces the street so its a bit distracting, but not bad. The food was delicious! Our group tried the pork tenderloin, roasted chicken, vegetable cassoulet, & cauliflower steaks. They looked great & they all raved about their choices. Unfortunately the service was lacking. Perhaps more training is needed.
This place has great food. Fiance got a cherry smoked steak which was amazing. You can for sure taste that smokey flavor with a hint of cherry. It had a flavor that called for no steak sauce or anything else ontop because you wanted to cherish the taste of the steak itself. For $12 I got the turkey bacon avocado wrap with the duck fat fries. This was the biggest wrap and freshest I have ever had. I had to take home half because I was so full from the other part of the wrap. Duck fat fries are a must. Something about frying in duck fat that automatically makes fries taste better. Plus the garlic aioli that comes out to dip them in. MUST GET.Although, I do have to mention they dont substitute sides so if your meal doesnt come with the fries then you must place an extra side order in for them. Our server was as sweet as can be but just not quick on service. We waited a decent amount of time to get refills and our check...due to her sweetness I didnt mind the slow service but I could tell other people did mind.I also have to mention the very cute atmosphere and decor.I would return to this place for sure!
I am a local and like to support local businesses. However, after my experience, I wont be back. It took 1hr 15 minutes for appetizers, and 1hr 42 minutes to get our entrees. The management did NOTHING to apologize or compensate for our lengthy delays. They didnt even visit our table. They should be ashamed. If it hadnt been for our waitress, Chriss, professionalism and personality, we would have walked after the appetizers. Food quality was ok, but across the board I feel the entrees are $2-$4 too high. Substitute green beans for broccoli, $5 upcharge. RIDICULOUS! I wish them well, but the MANAGEMENT needs to step up and resolve their kitchen staffing issues and preemptively show the customers they care when things are going bad.
After reading the reviews I was surprised that I had such terrible service. Our waitress was not attentive, My steak was burnt to a crisp at 28.00 for ribeye I couldnt even take it home (I took one bite) she didnt even ask me if anything was wrong. Being a server for 5 years, I know if someone doesnt eat their food there is a problem!! We were absolutely not happy we will not be going back.
Went to Great Scott Tavern on New Years Eve with my 82 year old Mom. She can be a bit picky, so when she raved about everything I new I had made the right choice. She thought everything tasted very fresh, especially the shrimp. She doesnt like salmon, but I encouraged her to try it since it was on the buffet. It also was a hit. We shared a lavender margarita, outstanding, even though she thought it was a bit strong. The manager, Bob, is very friendly and my mom was impressed with the attention he showed to us and the other guests. Hats off to the staff, we had a great dinner.
We went there to celebrate my BFFs upcoming marriage and we had a great time. We all enjoyed the food... wings, burger, steak salad and duck fries. I fell in love with the sangriasThe décor and atmosphere is GREAT. We were even impressed with the womens bathroom:)Victor is a great server.Great place to eat and hang out!!!!
Terrible service - worst I have ever experienced. Normally, I am NOT a complainer and if I read a negative review I dont know if that person is just hard to please or if the restaurant is really that bad. In this case - it was really that bad. I went with a group of 12 people. Our food took a VERY long time, came to me cold, was overwhelmingly charred and then the waiter disappeared for hours. I was not pleased. Our drinks were not refreshed - because nobody came back. I finally was able to get his attention and address the problem. By then, I had already waited over two hours and I did not want to wait while another meal was made. I repeatedly asked for the check (always nicely). I had to wait ANOTHER hour. At that point, I just wanted to go home and eat some cereal. The staff was very friendly - when around and I appreciated that they removed my meal from our bill. Also, out of 13 people only 1 or 2 actually enjoyed their food. It seemed really overpriced for the quality. I will never ever go there again. It was a really negative experience.
We had ordered calamari as an appetizer, as we normally do whenever available, and was sadly disappointed in this recipe. The coating wouldnt stay on the calamari and the calamari was over cooked.Other than that the place looked pretty cool. We didnt get to check out the bar side but will be back to do so. Place was so clean, especially the bathrooms!
The food was good loved atmosphere. What I didnt like its not very accommodating to their customers. One person wanted to order fried perch and substitute coleslaw for something else they wouldnt do it. We ordered steak waitress asked if we wanted mushrooms and onions we said yes didnt tell us there was a charge for each. When the bill came we noticed an extra $ 8 charge. I asked for it to be removed because we werent told of the extra charge the owner refused to take it off.NOTE: Great Scott always accommodate the customer! I wont be returning. Sad was happy to have you in Euclid.
When our orders came out, the walleye was a dud...no taste and very watery as if freezer burnt. Our server was rude and never apologized, just gave us excuses like it was our problem. I do have to say the clams were very good, but other than that, not so much. This was our first time dining here, and will be our last. Also would be a good idea if substitutions were offered with the price paid for our meals, as the duck fat fries couldn’t be substituted for a more healthy option.
Not sure if the wait staff was new, but our first visit was much different than our second. The food was excellent both times, and the service was just perfect. We had a down-to-earth server or who never let my glass be empty, unfortunately our second visit I could not say the same.
The service was really good, the atmosphere was ok, but the ambiance just wasnt there despite all efforts, on the part of management, its just not in existence. The food was decent but Im unlikely to return. Its just missing the mark and I really wanted to like this place.
Our first time. In a word WOW! From the service to the drinks to the food, everything was the model for what every restaurant experience should aspire to be. Then we heard the story about the owner and that made us feel even more at home. Highly recommended, it will be a regular stop for us. Thank you!
The ambiance is like a dimly lit cafeteria. The drinks came out in different size glasses. The crab cakes were bland and not held together as a cake should be. I ordered the scallops for $25. There were 2 half dollar sized scallops and one quarter sized. I shouldnt be paying an entrée price for an appetizer. Those were kind a blah. I probably wont eat there again.
Dinner started out fine... Cocktails were very good. Peach sangria and New York sour were on point. We got the brisket tater skins... Good idea but it didnt come with the BBQ sauce that was listed on the menu and was a little cool.Kids got Mac N Cheese... It was not the usual flavor profile for Mac N Cheese... A little sweet. We do appreciate a grown up flavor for that dish but this missed a bit.Wife got chicken paprikash and it came out cold. It was brought back to the kitchen to fix but it did take a while to come back... Everyone had finished by then. Temperature was hot enough but flavor was just OK. It was not taken off the bill which was disappointing considering length of time it took to come back to the table.I got the sirloin which was good... So were the frites.Server was knowledgeable but a bit chatty in my opinion. He was working 4 other tables at the same time which may have been a bit much...again, just my opinion. Not sure if I could recommend or if we will try again. Maybe just for cocktails and the patio.
It was around 7:30pm that we drove past Great Scott Tavern and decided to go in and check out the place for the first time. Its brick exterior with the lighting and outdoor patio was very inviting. So we walked in and was immediately greeted by Barbara. She was all smiles and made us feel very welcomed. She sat us in a booth and brought lemon water and bread. After a moment of looking over the menu I noticed they had fried cheese. If you love cheese sticks The mozzarella cheese sticks are so good they come in the size of quarter patties theres 2 of them breaded and very seasoned. Light and crispy and the marinara sauce is very Italian. I ordered the soup of the day which was chicken noodle( fantastic ) and a garden salad. (Huge portion)come hungry. So they had a special with ribs tonight that my hsb ordered. It included a slab of ribs with corn on the cob and baked beans for $12.00 pretty reasonable right exactly. The only problem was they werent very tender. So when Barbara asked How are the ribs? I told her they were ok just a little tough. So a few minutes later she came back and said the chef will make you another slab if youd like and we agreed. What a world of difference! tender and juicy and the sauce had a mild kick of heat to it just delicious. I only wish it had come out that way originally. So anyway they made it right and we were very grateful. Customer service is the key with us and this place has made it a science. 2 can dine for under $40.00 easily. If you like steak a New York strip will cost you about $24.00. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Great ol school music too!
The best thing about the dinner was the bread sadly. The poutine was good. I got the pork schnitzel.. which.. is not pork schnitzel. So if youve ever had it before youll be sorely disappointed. It was just a poorly breaded, dry, tough porkchop. Their warm homemade applesauce that comes with it is just chunks of apple with cinnamon on it, not a sauce. The complimentary salad is just 2 handfuls of spring mix with a couple grape tomatos and cucumbers luckily you dont have to pay for it. The redskin potatos with it have no seasoning other than the chives they garnish it with. Luckily i wasnt very hungry. But sadly all this is $16 when it shouldve been about $9.The place has a good ambiance though.Nice wait staff. The room was super cold though. I was wearing a hoodie and a toasty jacket coming from work and i didnt even want to take them off i was cold.
This restaurant just cant seem to get it right. I would really like to see it succeed as it has potential and should be a great addition to Euclid. The space and layout are nice, but the menu needs major tweaking. The bread offered isnt a great choice. The steak is a low quality meat for $24- Id rather pay $34 for better cut of meat. Mussels and Frites are good but Id like to see more variety or at least the small menu done really well. The biggest issue this restaurant has is the service- its clear that the servers and staff hired are just not experienced enough to work in a restaurant like great Scott is SUPPOSED to be. The bar is SLOW. They seem to always have a full kitchen crew and bussers, but I cant figure out what they are doing. Each time Ive been, food and drinks took way too long, servers going to wrong tables, etc. and the place is just not that busy for so much confusion among staff. They did such a wonderful job on remodeling this oldnpost office that its such a shame that they cant get it together in terms of menu and service (most important things). They really need to get some advice from various bar/restaurants in the greater area that know what they are doing i.e talk to those who run Firehouse, willoughby brewing co., local tavern, bistro 185, the cabin....
The staff treated our staff horrible!!! Poor communication!!! Inconsiderate!!! Several of our guest had to take their food back!! One of us didn’t like their food asked for something else and the waiter goes, “ITS NOT GOING ON YOUR BILL!!” Like we were asking for that. 4 people decided not to even order after it. Except for our other waitress Shirley, she handle everything very professional.BUT WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!
Euclid is blooming and what a delight Great Scott Tavern was. The staff was incredible and the food delicious. We were sitting in our local tavern (my brother, husband and I) last Friday trying to figure out where to go for dinner. My brother said that he had heard some good things about Scotties. So, after a few minutes of googling to determine the correct name, we called, reserved a table and headed out.The decor is impressive, the staff phenomenal and the food excellent. We will definitely be dining at this fine establishment often.
I Absolutly Love There’s Dishes , Delicious is all I can say .. My Favorite is There Bread Crumb Mac & Cheese & There Homestlyed Meatloaf . The Place is Cusotmer Friendly , Has A Bar u can sit around it & eat and watch the big TVs they also have a dining area which is even better . It’s fancy I shile say .. the prices are VERY fair and Worth it . Every dish u Get is Served Fresh & Is Large Qauntity U may Want a Take home Box lol but overall I Love the place And I cant wait to go back.
Great experience,my first time there and Ill definitely be back the ladies room was immaculate staff was very attentive and polite the food was delicious I had calamari which was cooked perfectly and meatloaf as my entree and it was delicious as well,I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience with them!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is Pleasant but when ordering are meal took 25 minutes just to get salad and in 35 for our meal when the meal came out it was supposed to have cabbage rolls and red skin potatoes it had instant potatoes not redskin potatoes which were very very hot and the stuffed cabbage was lukewarm and there was an argument from the Chef & the wait staff that they did use fresh potatoes but it was relevant that it was instant potatoes if you know how to cook you could tell the difference just by the smell

2022-03-27Id give 100 stars if I could! Everything was exceptional from the second we walked in. Our server was impeccable! 100% Lithuanian and so much fun! Homemade bloody Marys and Everything we ate was incredible. Literally one of the best burgers Ive ever eaten. And the little attention to details was awesome. Like the grill marks on the bun. So happy this is pretty close to home so we can go all time!

2021-05-14Wow! What an excellent place to eat or grab a drink! We were greeted warmly and promptly seated at the bar. We were served drinks almost immediately and our order was taken. I was a bit put off by the menu prices but I must admit, i was not prepared for the portion sizes. Huge portions and exceptional service made the prices 110% with it. Not to mention the taste of the food. It was delicious! We tried the Mac & Cheese with buffalo chicken, Poutine, and the Cajun Shrimp Alfrrdo, all of which I would highly recommendThe best part was when we went to leave, the gentleman at the front desk rushed to hold the door for us. Such a fantastic gesture! We will definitely be back. And I highly recommend GST if you havent checked them out yet.

2022-05-23A local restaurant that people enjoy. The host was very gracious when we pointed out the menus we received were not complete by only having the front printed and not the back half were the salads would have been (we commented because we saw salads going by but none on the menu).

2022-06-21It only gets 2 stars because of the stellar server. She was excellent and very friendly.I got a reuben which had toasted bread, cold corned beef and minimal cheese.Larry the Lounge Lizard was the entertainment for those of us who ate outside on a Saturday night, much to our dismay. He did his karaoke shtick... I felt embarrassed for him. His banter may have been worse than his attempt at singing.Im never going back!

2022-02-20Enjoyable, dont know how I missed this place that has only been open for 6 months and less than a mile from my home. Thanks to my neighbor who mentioned it to my wife and I, we feel like we were beamed up to the spacecraft Enterprise in the heavens. Great atmosphere and plan on returning very soon.

2019-03-09I dont like giving 5s but I dont think I found any flaw in this place. The service was amazing, the parking even includes a free valet , who is really good at being quick about it. The place itself is amazing, great up scale restaurant. The food was to die for, they will check with you how you want your steak and ofc thats exactly how it comes out.If thats not your style then they even have a bar area slightly away from the dining area keeping the bar noise out of the way. The bar keepers are amazing at service and they even have ice cream. :) It also has a bunch of TVs with sports on.All in all a great experience , slightly on the higher budget scale but totally worth visiting!

2020-01-01We went out for New Years Eve dinner. It was quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the piano music playing in the background. A very comfortable and cozy atmosphere. For an appetizer we choose the hand cut potato chips with three dips. Gouda with pimento, Queso with jalapeno, and French onion. This was a homerun on all parts. For dinner, my wife chose the pomegranate cocktail to accompany her bacon wrapped meatloaf. I chose a Guinness with my Yeungling Fish Fry. All meal portions are large enough to require a take home container. The meals were both excellently prepared and tasty.

2022-02-27Food was below average for the price. One dish was completely incorrect and the server insisted we ordered the wrong item when everyone heard the right item ordered. Finally delivered after everyone was done eating. Disappointing.

2022-03-19I have worked at Great Scott Tavern for 5 years. It wasnt until recently that I Was accused of stealing 21 dollars from the bar. Per Bob the manager. I am Insulted beyond belief. It is time to go. I am officially quitting Great Scott Tavern as of now! I will never step place in this establishment again!
