Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio in other cities:
Found an item without a price and was told by another employee to let Sean know and he would be able to put a price on it for me. Was told by Sean that thats not how it works around here and that he was the boss and his say overrides hers. I asked if I should call the following day and see if they would have a price for it and he told me to do what you want but its just going to be thrown back into the warehouse until they decided to put a price on it He then took the item from me and walked away with it. I was taken back on how rude he was to me and thought the situation could have been handled a lot better.
Cashier was the only person on the floor. She was very overworked having to run between the register and putting stock away in the back of the store.Cant undetstand why a store that gets all of their mech for free cant have proper staff. My experience was unsatisfactory and the clerk was very rude.
Overpriced, $6.00 for a T-shirt? Unfriendly staff, and honestly all the houseware/kitchenware and kids toys was JUNK. Should not even be on the shelves- which is not organized and just thrown all on top of each other. Only nice thing is it’s sorted by size, other than that don’t waste your time or money. I will not be back and don’t recommend to anyone.
Saturday 7/7. I had a couch I wanted to donate. It was well taken care of and was in pretty good shape. I called this store and asked about bringing it in. The guy on the phone said that as long as it didnt have any rips or tears or stains then they would accept it. He also said he only had one guy working the donations area that night. So, confident that they would take our couch, my pregnant wife and I spent money and rented a truck to get the couch there. Because we didnt want to put stress on whoever was working, my brother in law agreed to take time out of his day to help me move the couch, which is pretty heavy. When we got to the donation area around 7pm, the guy working very reluctantly came outside, and before he even looked at the couch, he started mumbling under his breath, No, no....no. He moved a cushion and just kept saying very quietly, No. No. We asked, No? He all said was No. And then he sauntered back inside. No explanation. No nothing. Just no. The couch is not in bad shape. Its certainly not in bad enough shape to dismiss it at a glance without explanation. We were only getting rid of it for space issues; the quality of the couch was never an issue. The worker was very rude and dismissive. We spent money to get the couch there since the phone call made us certain we could donate it. We wasted our money, our time, and our brother-in-laws time when we could have simply put it out on the curb and someone probably wouldve taken it. Ive learned my lesson. Goodwill wont get any of my donations anymore.
Very decent for a goodwill, although Ive seen better pricing at Wal-Mart on new merchandise keep in mind Goodwill, everything is being donated so dont beat your patrons over the head with over pricing, the objective is to keep them coming back not scaring them off with high prices... Youre a non profit organization lets not become over greedy.... It becomes bad for business.
1 star for the very small chance that I actually walk out of this place happy. The prices are a joke. They wanted like 10-15 bucks for a used pair of pants. I went across the street to Marshalls and got a NEW pair of pants for 10 bucks. They treat everything there like it is some rare artifact. Also, never not once have I ever seen some decent video games there. Just crappy old sports games. You know what that means when nothing but sports games are there every single time you go there? It means that the people in the back pick through them before the customer has a chance. They either keep it for themselves or sell it online. When something does get through the cracks, it is overpriced, and nowhere near worth it. I seen an Atari Flashback 8 in the box there (I guess the unit was too big to steal) and they wanted 40 dollars for it. You can get one in the box and in mint condition on ebay for around 25 dollars with FREE shipping. This is a goodwill. These stores are around to help provide families with small incomes get some deals. This isnt supposed to be a place where you take advantage of folks and overcharge on a pair of pants. Shame on whoever runs this miserable pile of trash store.
It seems every time I earn the credits to getvthev five dollar discount Im told I have to wait 24 hours to get it ..Last week I was a a different Goodwill store that told me the same thing. I should have gotten my discount today. The clerk said she dosent know about other stores but she was going with what their store said. Not fair. The same store sold a picture I had purchased even though it had a sold sign it. I had to leave it at the store because itbwas quite largest heavy for me to carry. But when I came back they said they knew nothing about it. However..i told them I wanted the money I paidfor it back and they agreed to do so. .
A store employee followed me outside and said she had me on video putting a San disk in my pocket. I immediately went back in the store and showed her where I put it back in the shelf and received NO apology. When I expressed myself for being falsely accused of stealing, she told me to leave the store and not come back. I have spent thousands of dollars in that store and am highly upset of the way I was treated.
Tried to donate a futon I needed to get rid of and they turned it down. Employee was just shy of rude, kept saying no without explaining, and tried to say it was torn when there were no tears. Pretty clear he just didnt want to take it out of the car and haul it in, when it hardly weighed anything, and if I could carry it all the way out of my building he can sure take it into the store! Sorry he didnt want to do his job!
Decent merchandise, a bit pricey and very cluttered. Things piled on top of each other. Trying to look at one thing, others are falling and even broke a big ceramic lamp which I cleaned up and looked for an employee to take it away. Ultimately ended up taking it into the back myself. If cleaned up it would be a better experience
HANDICAP DOOR BUTTONS BROKEN*** The staff was very attentive and the bathrooms were extremely clean. the stuff is a little high for a store thats about helping people in lower income communities. Remember, this stuff is donated to you, you dont need to sell is for face value. Help those who helped u
I went in, started looking around..i just had eye surgery..first time i could see in 12 yrs..2 employees were in ear shot of me..and made the comment how does she expect to see anything with her sunglasses on.. ( I have to wear them..any kind of light hurts my eyes..it will be that watw for a few more weeks...I wasnt in that store more than 5 minutes..well I left..in tears..I will never go back. Judgemental employees?
Prices are high especially when they get them for free not to mention goodwill does not help anyone in need like Salvation Army does and if you google the ceo he makes 2.4 million a year so think before you donate to any of the goodwills I donate to Salvation Army because they help the needy

2021-03-24Huge selection, pretty much everything in terms of clothing, including some unique finds. Cheap! Lots of other things like furniture pillows or kitchen items. Look for the purple tag and its 50% off the already cheap price.

2022-04-16GREAT service! As soon as we pulled up to the donation door and walked up, an employee came out and helped us get our donations into the store 😊

2022-01-07I loved this store it was my favorite thrift store for so long up until they hired the most rude manager on earth. Everytime I go to the store I see her screaming at everyone and tell them to get out of the store and she don’t want their money for no reason. You should do something about it before you lose all of your coustmers. For me personally you already lost my business.

2022-03-16I found one nice thing in the whole store. It was half empty, dirty and unpleasant, even a thrift store can look better.

2022-04-11This store is way nicer than the Liquidation store down the plaza. The customer service is excellent and you can actually find some great deals!

2021-12-19A lot of nice clothing here. Big store. But had the fitting rooms closed down by 40 minutes before closing time. Hung the items back up and left. Poor customer service for sure.

2021-11-24Just purchased a PHILIPS 65 Smart TV / March 2017 ($85.99). It has a blue tint but can be repaired (< $200) which totals $200 less than the going new prices ($500).What savings w/a little bit of research. 😁

2022-01-15Very confused as to why the employees always put price tags on items that when you go to take it off, more times than not the sticker ruins the item. Very frustrating 🙁

2021-05-26Middleburg Heights LocationI have been needing to take a lot of donations up here over the last month. I have to clear out an entire home due to losing my mom, bonus dad, and grandpa. There’s one younger employee who is always at the donation dock and he always has seemed kinda mad when he sees me pull up. One of the times he asked me where I get all the stuff from and I explained that I had multiple family members pass away and I had to go through my family home and clear it out. He didn’t reply but a few minutes later he started to take stuff out of my trunk so I figured he was helping. He took things and slammed them in the bins and then took one bag of holiday decorations and walked them to the window and threw it down. When I finally was driving away I broke down into tears. He acted like this stuff was junk. Maybe to him it was but to my family these are memories that I just don’t have the room in my own house to hold on to. It took me a couple weeks to get the strength to go back. Upon my next visit he was the one at the dock again. I said hi and he brought out the bin without saying a word. I filled the bin up and I told him I might need one more cause it was getting full. He just stood there. I walked around trying to find smaller items to top off the bin that was there. I asked him for the next bin and he just pointed into my car and said “to be honest we don’t need any of this stuff but I’ll take this” and he grabbed a microwave and walked off. He left me with half a car full of stuff and I left with it still in my car. I understand that having to go through all this stuff is overwhelming. I try my best to sort and organize the things I bring to the store and to make sure the things are in good/decent shape to resell. This guy has broken me down and made me feel absolutely awful about making donations. If I had the choice I never would have to donate this stuff but I can’t control that my family members have died and I don’t have that choice. I thought maybe some other families could make use out of these things again but he made me fee otherwise.
