Went for Dine-in, restaurant is take out only. Disappointed… But food good as always.
Been here multiple times. The food is FANTASTIC! It’s not a buffet. Everything is made to order. Even the sauces are home made! It’s always busy when we go and the service is great. Seriously the best Chinese in the area. Can’t wait to go back!😁

Have been to this place twice. Very happy with the service. The food is the best in the area. We tried Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken, pad Thai, and green curry. Excellent! And the shrimp egg rolls may be the best I have ever had. Could be my new favorite restaurant!
They do not allow eating in the restaurant only take. You have to call your order in and puck it up. The food is really food and the staff are nice.

We go to this restaurant often- nice people, good food. Yesterday the experience was not as good- sat at our regular table near the entrance- the waitress was behind us at a station for silverware- she made lots of noise tossing it in and then carried on a loud conversation with the boy at the host stand- I now know all about their friends health issues. We like this place but we didnt have a pleasant time- time to leave and she threw the go- boxes in the middle of the table on top of used dishes- she is a keeper!
I love eating at the restaurant my husband and I are there at least once a month the service and food is excellent!!! We were there yesterday and the smell of the restaurant was so musty and the carpets are do for a good cleaning. I might have to do takeout from now on unless the restaurant gets a good cleaning! Then Ill give a 5 star rating!
Really fantastic food. It has obviously been awhile since I have been inside, but I recall the interior being really lovely. I have gone here since I was a child, and I will continue to go.
This is a very good Chinese/Thai eatery. A large variety of food is offered, some of it very spicy. The sizzling rice soup is especially good. Eddie, the owner, is a great guy--very soft-spoken, polite and friendly. Hes always there. My wife absolutely adores the food. When we dine out her choice is always Golden Hunan. We both love the totally relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic food! Excellent service! The shrimp eggrolls were delicious, cooked to perfection. We had general tsos and empress chicken - both very generous portions, great quality meat, and the vegetables and sauces were soooo good!!
Our waiter was fabulous..I wish we got his name, so extremely polite. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend the hot and sour soup, the best Ive ever had. It had a rich broth and a nice heat level.
Out of 30+ years going here MAYBE twice or less we had a little less than a GREAT experience. Over all its Always consistent food and service. Its not your average take out but rather GREAT tasting authentic chinese dishes with the staff and owners ALWAYS there to make sure your time there is the best. Pad Thai is awesome....its the only place around that I know of that has it and its delicious.
Oh my god! DO NOT EAT HERE. The portion is so not worth it for the price. I ordered a chicken pad thai, thinking that for $12, the box will at least be bigger than a teeny Chinese take out box. There are many restaurants around that charge half the price for double the portion. If the food was worth the price, then I would be completely fine with paying that much. However, it is not. At all. I am very disappointed & honestly feel ripped off.
Love Golden Hunan! Weve been coming for almost 20 years Id say. Even when we havent been in for a while, the staff still remembers us and remembers details about us which of course always makes you feel good. As for the food, its hands down the best Chinese food Ive ever had, and nothing has ever compared in flavor. We will be lifelong customers!
The experience here is amazing, my husband and i would order whatever wine they have... sit and talk... wait (not long at all) and enjoy the amazing staff until our food is ready. Every time I get something I tell the waiter that its my favorite and then laugh and realize I said that the last time. Everything is awesome and I am obsessed!!!!
Everything was delicious! Pleasant atmosphere, extensive and varied menu, flavorful sauces, and beautiful presentation. Plus we had a great waiter! This is now our go-to restaurant for Chinese and Thai, and well be bringing friends!
I love the Golden Hunan! The staff are very friendly and attentive. The lunch menu is a bit sparse compared to the dinner one, but what it lacks on selection is more than made up for in flavor. The portipn size at lunch is perfect, and the dinner almost always has something left over for later. Highly recommended
The egg rolls are not greasy, but crisp. The best Ive had. I had sweet & sour chicken on this visit. Nice white meat chicken, no icky dark meat. The best Chinese place around. I highly recommend.

This was our 1st visit & our food was EXCELLENT! We ordered the Mongolian Beef & the Tai Pad Chicken, vegetable egg rolls, & green tea. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We will DEFINITELY be back!

We just left Golden Hunan...the service was terrible. The food was even worse. The best thing was the ice water we had to drink. We ordered general tsos chicken and crispy shrimp. The chicken-not even sure if it was chicken...was discolored and had an odor to it, it was not edible. The crispy shrimp was all breading and over cooked, the green onions in the sauce were burnt which made the sauce taste terrible. After we sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the waitress to come back to see how our food was, she asked if we wanted a box, I said no, the food was terrible. She said she would go speak with the boss. When she came back she said her boss said she was not coming to speak with us, and that we still had to pay for terrible, uneaten food. Being the bigger people , we paid our bill, left the waitress (who gave terrible service)a tip, and told them we would NEVER be back again. We were not asking for our whole bill to be free, we did have soup and eggrolls, and our son had fried rice, we just did not want to pay for foul tasting food that we clearly did not eat.I have never experienced such horrible customer service, the manager would not even come and speak with us. We will never go back there again. We apparently arent the only ones who feel this way, because for it being a Saturday night, there were only about 5 tables filled in the whole place.
Awesome sesame beef! Friends general chicken was well liked. Egg rolls are very good. Cream cheese blossoms (crab rangoons) tasted good too but not enough filling in them. Egg drop soup is also great along with our waitress server 6 off receipt as i didnt get her name. Definatly recommend Golden Hunan

Human chicken with fried rice EXCEPTIONAL as well as garlic chicken, wonton soup and egg roll. Enjoyed the crisp wide noodles with hot mustard and duck sauce to dip in. Service was right on point, very professional yet didnt hover over our table. I customized the hunan dish by omitting the celery & carrots & adding mushrooms and it was not frowned upon-served perfectly as ordered. Sauce was VERY delicious, a bit warm (not HOT) and a hint of sweetness. Order came out so quickly which was delightful. Lots to do around the holidays so any way to expedite time is appreciated. Only disappointment was no egg foo young on the menu ( it too is a favorite)and crab is totally KRAB (imitation) which I cant stomach!
This is absolutely the best Chinese restaurant around. A little pricey, but worth the splurge once in a while. Nice atmosphere and wonderful wait staff!! No matter what we get there it is always phenomenal! My personal favorite is Empress chicken.
Been going here since early 90s. Food is good since new ownership. Prior owners I found a centipede in my fried rice. Never went back until it was under New ownership or management. So far no problem.

The absolute best local Asian cuisine in the area, and you wont find friendlier service anywhere else. My family has been eating here for several years, and I plan to continue the tradition.
Ive been going there for years and its always terrific. If you like black tea I highly recommend it with a shrimp egg roll.Anyone who prefers a second rate buffet is outside their mind.
Really excellent food, the one man who serves is extremely kind, comes back often. One of my favorite Chinese and Thai restaurants. Get the panang curry, it is the best. Clean restaurant, bathrooms clean.

Ive been frequenting this place for almost 29 years, and I have never had a bad meal here....lunch or dinner.Usually I come for their lunch specials, where you can get an entree, fried rice, soup, egg roll, and cream cheese blossom for less than $10.I just recently discovered they have a small Thai menu. Ive tried the Pad Thai, which is excellent. Ive also tried the Drunken Noodles, which are very good, but a little too spicy for me.IMHO this is the best Chinese food in the YTown/Warren area. And the Cream Cheese Blossoms app is a MUST have.

Guy swap my card 3 times , then question him about it and he got attitude😑Then I ordered the lunch special chicken lo mein, and General Tsos chicken, vegetable egg roll and shrimp roll . The owner her self came and brought me my food everybody food came out in big boxes, she gave me 5 pieces of General Tsos chicken then told me she was not giving me my money back😑Egg roll is dripping grease and chicken lo Mein was put in a little box . I wish I was health department .Look at all the grease on my fingers. I got some of my money back not all and whats so sad I had been going to them for years. CUSTOMER Service Suck😑. I worked in food service for so long never would I treat someone like this!
THE WORST SERVICE IVE EVER GOTTEN HERE, EVER!!!AND ALL I ORDERED WAS WONTON SOUP AND EGG ROLLS, FOR TAKE OUT!!!This place has continually gotten worse and worse over the years, theyre a FAR cry worse than the excellence they had from the old location, the food isnt as good, the staff is lazy, and understaffed, the owner is too focused on raising the price and cutting portion sizes to a third of a normal Chinese restaurants size, the atmosphere is horrid, and they are EXTREMELY disorganized in both the front and the back, ESPECIALLY in the front end, I came in to get two large wonton soups with extra crispy noodles, and three shrimp egg rolls, FOR TAKE OUT !!!......TWO HOURS LATER IM STILL SITTING HERE WAITING !!!! with about 18 other people crammed into the lobby, either waiting to be seated, OR take out also, and are being IGNORED, the occasional beeping of the register in the back ground, and the hit play/rewind hit play sound of the cashier apologising for the long wait..... This is REDICULOUS !!! And when I asked how much longer wait it will be, and if Im going to recieve a discount for waiting 2 hours for soup and 3 egg rolls, the owners wife snaps at me like a rabid dog and snarles at me, WERE DOING OUR BEST, SO WAIT!!!... Nice, huh? ..... Screw this place, its gone the way of MOST business in the area..... DOWN THE TOILET!!!avoid this place at all costs!!!P.S.- and After they FINALLY came out with my order, it was COLD and the bag was soaked at the bottom with grease, THEN she offered to re-fry my eggrolls!!! I was like, HELL NO!! I WANT FRESH!!! so she goes back again, and 10 minutes later she rings me up....19 DOLLARS!!! FOR 3 EGG ROLLS AND TWO WONTON SOUPS!!!!! I was like WHAT?!?!?!? I told her she could keep it and eat it herself, I wasnt paying for that crappy service and food, and promptly left.NEVER AGAIN HUNAN!!! You lost a long time loyal customer, because of selfishness, the owners greed, disorganization, and laziness from the staff...... goodbye forever!!!
I am staying in a hotel up the road bought take out from this restaurant. They did not put any knives and forks. How do they expect you to eat their food? Isnt this included? Or have the courtesy to ask if you need them. Terrible.

Real good the first time with the shrimp fried rice. But the other day.... it was suppose to be pepper steak but the texture of the meat was so soft and floury. Yes floury like its fake meat. Meat aint that soft where you burp and a cloud of puff comes out your mouth. And how old is the rice really? It wasnt fresh thats for sure. Veggie egg roll was cool, eat it when its hot!Will I go back?Desperately saying nerp, not, nada and No!
Just moved to Youngstown in January ate here about 6 times since then and its great! yeah the wait is long but its because its the best Chinese place in Youngstown, Oh! Hands down worth it!
Thai and Chinese people work here. Entrees of each origin are impressive.*Update: lowered to 4 stars. Asked for spicy, they added a bunch of black pepper to my Hunan Special Beef. It was like eating warm beef jerky.
Great food and very fast take out service and they had a birthday party taking place. Had the moo goo gai pan. I was able to eat 3x off the large serving they gave me.

This just wasnt any good, the rice was super dark from an excessive amount of soy sauce, the noodles were mushy and had no flavor and the egg roll just didnt taste any good, super disappointed

2022-06-10The food in this restaurant is very tasty, authentic and plentiful, and the owner, Eddy is very courteous and friendly, it appears he knows every customer by name. Even though the prices were a bit higher than expected but it is probably due to the overall macroeconomics and inflation, thanks to Brandon.I would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

2022-05-28Best Chinese food youre gonna get around here, hands down. Try the general Tsos shrimp- not a menu item (yet) but theyll make it if you ask. Very nice folks, they were the best part of a blind date I went on- we grabbed take out bc covid still required we eat somewhere else. Idk if Ill see the date again, but Im sure ordering from here more often.

2018-12-27We were driving in the area & in the mood for Chinese. Food was great our waitress/ server was busy yet very friendly... She never stopped moving. Would certainly go again... It helped having an entertainment coupon. FYI... This is not buffet eating. I had cashew chicken and my husband had general tsos chicken along with a fabulously displayed appetizer. Everything was great. When we drove past it at 7:15 on a Wednesday & the parking lot was packed we figured it had to be good. 👍

2019-05-25The service was fantastic, and the food phenomenal. Family style Chinese and Thai. No buffet, everything made to order. Only reason I didnt give Golden Hunan a 5 star is the mild need for a carpet cleaning.

2021-12-17We moved to the area almost two years ago. We tried nearly every Chinese restaurant around and the GH is now our go to when ordering Chinese take out. Gave it a four star instead of five because sometimes the ratios change and it can be a bummer. Like once you get a ton of chicken and not as much veggies and the next time itll be the exact opposite. Other than that its great. Also the guy who runs the front is super nice.

2022-04-15Disappointing I could not sit in and eat but it is the best Chinese and tai food I’ve ever had in the area!! The man at the front was very pleasant and patient. Prices aren’t bad either! Definitely will return!

2016-11-20As a professional fat kid and a top ranked self proclaimed Chinese food connoisseur this restaurant is in the running for the #1 in the valley. The egg rolls, hot & sour soup, General Tsos Chicken, Hunan Chicken and Drunken Noodles are the best.This place is so good, more ninjas eat here than any other restaurant. Service is fast which ninjas love. And when you want your food spicy, theyll make it hot enough to make a sumos balls sweat. Think about that for a moment. Here you have professional fat kids rassling in diapers, yet you never see the mini ninjas fall out. Why is that?

2021-08-20Hands down the absolute best Chinese/Thai place that The Valley has to offer. Eddie and the rest of the staff put so much effort in making the best food they can. My partner and I are obsessed with the General Tsos Tofu and veggie egg rolls. We drive about and hour round trip once a week to get our golden hunan fix and don’t plan on stopping any time soon!

2021-03-07If you havent tried this food you are missing out! Very friendly staff, great consistent taste and affordable prices. We go about every 3 weeks and we never go anywhere else! Try the vegetable egg rolls as well. Best egg rolls Ive ever had!!
