We order here once or twice a month, and we have never had a bad experience. We always order online, and the food is always ready when we get there (we live about 7-8 minutes away). Everything we have ever ordered was delicious, and still piping hot when we get it home. Definitely our favorite Chinese restaurant.
Wasnt greeted upon entering. Stood there for little over five minutes. Lady came to counter said she told me thirty minutes on phone. I was delivering that night and the order was not placed by me. She repeated herself and said it a second time. I was also going to order myself a little something but was not even given a chance. I then decided that I was leaving. I sent the order on to a different driver and ordered nothing for myself. I visit several restaurants a day as well as work in one for my other job. This was definitely some of the poorest customer service I have ever seen. I will not be back for myself or for my job delivering
We order $30 of food every order. My wife wanted extra sauce and was told we cant do that? My wife reiterated twice we would pay any extra costs. I cannot imagine this customer service from a Chinese restaurant. We will not be ordering from them again. I hope the parents or owners see this post. Food is pretty good but wait times & communication are iffy. Dont recommend ordering online; when I got there they had no idea they had received an order.Several months later... The main thing about GCE is the food is pretty tasty and plentiful for the price. If you dont mind your food not being exactly as described in the menu and a total lack of human warmth from the workers and just want decent food at a decent price this place will do. BTW, this is not a dine in place. Id sooner eat in my car.
Food is always great , but the staff that answers the phone is probably the most disrespectful lady I’ve ever had to deal with. They messed my order up and when I called them to get it fixed she would NOT let me speak. She was trying to make every excuse as to why she shouldn’t have to remake my food and that it’s my fault they messed up ? Claims she tried calling to ask questions but I never got one call! The delivery driver is GREAT. But their Customer service inside of the store is just sad! I’ll be staying with joy lucky from now on.
Im an extremely picky eater, and since moving to the Columbus area two years ago have yet to find a Chinese food spot that helped me feel at home. And then I got a flyer on my mailbox and landed in the restaurant. I dont understand why anyone would rate this place as a 1 star, but I guess some people just need to be wrong ¯_(ツ)_/¯ this place is fantastic! They did a great job with my allergy needs as well, which is not easy to find. I will be here as often as I can afford to eat out with a baby. Absolutely recommended!
This is a solid 3 to 3.5 Chinese restaurant. They deliver in a 6 mile radius which scores points for me, but it takes an hour or more which is puzzling. The quality of the food is pretty good, but certainly not the best Chinese Ive had nor even close to the worst. Ive had great luck with most of dishes Ive ordered chop suey and fried rice on many occasions and have been pleased. Recently got the pad thai and it was not at all what I was expecting and wasnt up to my standards. For not having many good Chinese food options in the Grove City area Golden China Express will work to satisfy your craving.

My first time trying their food the hubby and I were tired from a long work week and didnt feel like cooking or going out to get something. So we order from Golden China and we were truly impressed the food was delicious and the portions were generous and the food was hot. We will defintley be ordering again
For the second time in a row I have waited for over an hour and forty minutes for a delivery. When I called to cancel no one was able to help. They read me of different credit card number from other customers. While on hold, you could hear other customers ordering and being told 10-15 minutes for their meal. Why does mine take and hour and forty minutes? If you want to run a successful business dont have long wait times. Half the time give you the wrong meal, even when you order online. How hard is it to make a meal? Do not go here. Bad food, bad service, nothing but a waste!And they strike again. My roommate order a meal from them today, 4/8/16 and he got screwed. He called an hour after he ordered and they said they were just starting to make. Later, when he tried to cancel, they would not let him, saying its on its way. If you offer a delivery service, but it take over an hour to get it out, probably wanna rethink your business plan. Two customers, down, just a matter of time now.
Be careful what website your on. I thought I was ordering from a Golden China Express in Palmyra Virginia to the tune of 47.00. I dont know if Ill get my money back.
The food was disgusting, they just tossed most of it together, me and my wife could not even finish the food we wasted $30 on. The dumplings were dry on top and soaking wet on the bottom like they had been sitting in a tray for the whole day. The rangoons were basically chive flavored empanadas. With no crab meat in them. And im honestly scared to even try the 1.25$ egg drop soup i ordered. Delivery was punctual. Not fast or slow. Just punctual.
I always make a point to stop here. Great customer service, clean, and decently priced. There are a few different Chinese restaurants in the area, this one is by far my favorite. They also offer delivery.
Decided to try and was a mistake. Was told to pick up in 15 minutes. Gave them a half an hour and still waited another 15-20 minutes for my food. If its going to be 45 min to an hour, just tell the customer an accurate time. Nobody wants to hangout in a chinese restaurant for 20 minutes. Food is okay... Will not order from here again.
Just go to China Wok. Food is better and correctly
The ingredience seemed pretty fresh. However, the food was pretty bland. I had Kung Pao Chicken and Vegetable Lo Mein. The Lo Mein was probably the worst I have had. There really weren’t many veggies in it. The service wasn’t very good either. They seemed more put off that I was there. Finally, the cost was a lot more than I would have expected considering it’s a little strip mall Chinese restaurant versus a sit down Chinese restaurant. There are much better places for the money with much better food and service. I won’t be heading back here.
Came in with my daughter. Very rude cashier. Got aggravated when asked for napkins since there were literally none out there. Beef teriyaki was tough and looked undercooked. I will not be returning. Way too pricey for very low quality and awful service.
No silverware, dismissive waiter. Wrong order... Wow its imitation crab and powder egg... nice seafood soup. Pretty sure the only thing fresh here is a vegetable. But I doubt it. Id have been better off with a skillet meal from kroger a week expired...
Normally,Id give them a4-5. Today I tried Mongolian Beef for the first time in years. I must say it was pretty awful. It had plenty of beef with a few over cooked chives (green and wrinkly). The rest..aside from the rice was smothered in so many onions (bulk of meal) I almost thought I was eating liver. Now I love onions,but this was the worst Mongolian Beef Ive ever tasted. Save yourself the experience and order something else.
First and for most they always charge you more ... if I order a meal sesame seed chicken It’s LUNCH hour why would I want DINNER price . ALSO I got the combo ... in what restaurant fast food whatever.. they come with DRINKS. When you go and ask them about the other price the employees y’all among themselves and then say ohh why you don’t tell me you want lunch .... because it’s 11:45 am ..... I hate this place .
Food was better than I expected, service was great, online ordering and delivery a big plus. The egg fu yung was excellent, the shrimp pad thai lacked a little flavor but was better than others I have had, egg rolls were good, honey chicken and cashew chicken and triple garlic were very good. overall good food and good service.
Absolutely horrible customer service waited 4 hours for my food tonight and they still got the order wrong. We come here all the time so super disappointed. We won’t be back that’s for sure
12 yr old taking orders. Waited for one of the cooks to get out of bathroom so I could use facilities and he didnt wash hands...no water in sink and I didnt hear any water running after he flushed..almost turned around and left at that point. Nothing to dry hands on in bathroom. Told employee and he said ok. Sat there and ate and no one refilled bathroom paper towels. Food wasnt so bad. Large quantity.
Horrible food only ate it because i paid so much for it. Bland. You get 1 ragoon with combo plate. Got 2 meals only gave 1 fortune cookie. I have had frozen asian from kroger better. Dont waste your money.
Food was great except the fried wontons were a little too hard. Other than that it was great and the lady at the desk was happy to make me a different sauce for my order when I arrived.
Orders are never ready at the given time, and it is hotter than hades in the building, so youll be sweating the whole time you wait for the mediocre food youll receive.
The food is amazing. Everything I have tried is hot and fresh! Delivery is is never long, food is always pipping hot. Some of the best Chinese I have eaten in Columbus.
I Ordered 2 lunch specials that were supposed to come with egg rolls and neither had an egg roll. When I called to try to fix the issue the lady would not cooperate with me at all. I told her multiple time I no longer wanted the egg roll I just wanted a refund and she refused to listen.
This is the best Chinese food in grove city hands down. Dont waste your time anywhere else.

All food was cold. Everything tastes the same. The pop is MONTHS past its sale by date and fountain broke. Selection is terrible. Food way over priced. Restrooms messy and not stocked. Never going back .
Ordered online. Two hours ahead for an arrival time which was basically met on the spot. Food was nice and hot and pretty good. Lots of food reasonable price - not bad for GC.
I was really hopeful about this place since they deliver.. Come to find out.. It takes them just under an hour to deliver to you when youre only 10 minutes away. But holy Toledo was it worth it. The food was so good.
Took an hour for delivery which is way over the quoted time. Did not bring drink that came with meal and refused to bring it to us. Ordered a pint of boneless ribs and the container was just over half full. Will not be returning
I used to order all the time but every single time they get my order wrong. They take an hour delivering your food. And tgen when theres something missing they take another hour to deliver what they forgot.
Absolutely horrible service. Called in to place the order and had to repeat my order three times because she kept interrupting me. She said it would take an hour and they were 30 mins LATE! To top it all off she OVER CHARGED me with three items I never asked for! When I called she said it was MY fault because she doesnt have TIME to make sure it was right when they are busy! NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN!!! She said her name was Sidney which is probably a lie. Worst service EVER!
Called and ordered Delivery, had to call twice to see were our food was. Took 1 1/2 almost 2 hours to get our food. Then we get our food and it was horrible. So needless to say, i will not be ordering from them again!!!!
General Tsos chicken is delicious as well as the chicken with vegetables. I always enjoy the egg rolls and of course a fortune cookie at the end.

This is my favorite Chinese food place in Grove City. The wait times can be a bit long, but I feel like its worth it. They also deliver now.
Great food and they have the best eggrolls around. I have tried other places but I always come back here because no other compares. Plus they deliver.
Food was better then expected but there lunch specials are the same size as dinner meals except lunch is $6.25 and the same plate after 3pm is $7.95 just not enough food for your money
Placed an order 3 hours ago no one has called with an update they ran my credit card and wont answer the phone I have 100 times all I wanted was an update now they will never get anymore of my business....and I know they have caller ID so they are purposely ignoring my call

2021-08-13Food tasted okay but I’m pretty convinced most places don’t actually know what a Pad Thai is, they just throw some peanuts on there and call it a day. It was definitely missing the pad Thai sauce and flavor I was looking for.

2022-08-01We were nervous because of the initial rating. However a quick read and its mostly people mad waiting for their food or bigotry about masks.We ordered in and took home, food was pretty good and filling. Staff was friendly.

2021-07-16First everyone is always friendly and helpful. Second there isn’t anything our family has ordered we didn’t like. We’ve ordered new items from here we’ve never ordered before and now have new favorites! Third I am also a part time delivery driver for one of the “apps” and I’ve never had one issue or complaint from any of my customers for this restaurant! The orders are hot, accurate, ready to go quickly and clean! That’s probably the one thing that has impressed me the most about Golden China Express is their cleanliness behind the counter in the kitchen. I make a lot of deliveries which means I make a lot of food pickups. There are definitely places I’ve seen I will never order food from. I know sometimes people may have a bad day and run into an issue or two, but this restaurant review has been made after more than a year of personal and professional experience and I give it all 5 stars! Kudos!

2021-10-15Ordered DD from this restaurant tonight. The orange chicken was way too orange.The biggest problem were the fortune cookies at the end of the meal. They were stale, very stale; but not only were they stale they had mold growing inside of them, which I found out the hard way.I rarely say Ill never go somewhere again, but this is unacceptable to the 11th degree.Update: I made my own homemade orange chicken and everything about it was better, including the fried rice.

2021-02-26One of the best places around for any variety of Chow Mei Fun and Garlic Chicken or the chefs Phoenix dish. These are my favorites, along with the green beans or chicken fried rice.. I can customize my entree orders any way I want and am always accommodated without issue. Best chicken noodle soup Ive ever had. Yes, chicken noodle... They stay pretty busy but my orders never seem to take long. And they have coupons on the menu that you can get free food if you mention them. They also are one of the few restaurants that deliver to Southern Point Subdivision.

2021-05-10Amazing Chinese food!!! Was driving from Nashville to NY and had to stop for the night, so did not want any fast food so we took a risk and ordered from the only chinese place that was open. They accepted our delivery just before closing, it took Grubhub almost an hour to deliver and it arrived piping hot and was absolutely delicious. By far some of the best takeout Chinese food I’ve had in years

2021-01-01If I was able to give zero stars I would. We ordered our food they said it would be delivered in 1 hour. We waited 2 1/2 hours, when we called they said it is being cooked and will be a few minutes. We called after another hour and were told the driver just left. Another 30 minutes, I called again and was told that the driver just left. Again? Seriously? Still waiting..............

2020-12-26I placed a order at 4:49 it is now 7:04.. they wont answer, they ran my credit card and took my money online though!! I order from here weekly and the food is always good, but they usually take a hour to deliver, and the lady that answers the phone (when she actually does) is the worst customer service you will get!!Got a phone call at 8:09 asking me if I still want my order.. I said yes, she told me she would make it right away.. I finally got my food at 9:04 and they messed my order up !! Said they would send the stuff that was incorrect right out 30 minutes later I got some cold food.. completely dissapointed.. this has been a tradition of ours for quite a while ordering from there on christmas day.. lets just say that tradition and all future business will end today.. TRASH
